idk how people are bushing over saying ist normal for jikook to behave like in the ham scene , i cant think fo one example where they do do that not eve one. so how is its normal for them? i am confused. bc if anything that showed that they are close bro type of friends thatlike rough housing and not a couple def not a couple type of close people.
Oh look, another child who has never rough housed with a SO before.... Won't argue with a child, I'll just give some information....
Yeah, play fighting IS super normal for them. And if you haven't seen it before. You haven't watching that much content I guess. Jimin's even pretended to raise a hand against JK before, in the SAME WAY. Ya dumbies.
And let's stop pretending that rough housing or play fighting debunks anyone as a couple. Even straight couples do that shit. Constantly. Lol boys especially like fight flirting in my experience 😂

WOTN: The Oubliette by J.C. Sterns (Black Library)
The Real Monsters in The Oubliette The horrors of Warhammer 40,000 continue in The Oubliette, a novel by J.C. Sterns. This is one of many horror novels available within the larger universe, once again proving that the world is suited to these darker themes. Ashielle was third in line for becoming the Lord Governor of Ceocan. Until one day, she suddenly found herself in charge. Following a few…

THE X-FILES (1993-2018)
SEASON THREE — Don’t you see, Mulder? You’re doing their work for them. You’re chasing aliens that aren’t there, helping them to create a story to cover the shameful truth. And what they can’t cover, they apologize for. Apology has become policy.

Me: Wow wouldn't it be great if some of the canopteks were also works of art? Like, some of these have to have been technologies before biotransference, and the idea of some necrontyr who never survived to the forges lovingly decorating a canoptek...

Okay, I know this is inflammatory and if Stormblessed chooses to publish this ask I want all the weirdos out there to know this opinion stands only for me, but if there are parts of the show that lean more towards being “fanservice” (oh, how I loathe that word), it’s not the parts you think.
HYBE has no interest (and no reason to have an interest) in promoting specific ships. If you think that is what’s happening you are wrong, plain and simple. Just… what on earth could they stand to gain from that? BTS are seven or they are solo artists. Corporations care about money and there’s no money to make from highlighting one duo over another, and their content is, to a very great extent, done for the preexisting fans that already fill their coffers.
Are they making money from Jimin and Jungkook doing a travel show? Yes, probably. Would they have made the same money from any other ship doing a travel show? Yes, probably, especially if it involved at least one member from the maknaeline. (They’re simply more popular, I don’t make the rules.)
So IF there’s fanservice in AYS (aside from the members doing and filming things they may or may not have done if they were on their own and I’m not talking about their personal interactions I’m talking about playing with water guns and making up elaborate games, going climbing and riding go karts etc., they might have done those things if there were no cameras but they might also have spent the entire vacation sleeping) it’s reinforcing the OT7 brand. It’s calling Yoongi and Tae, it’s talking about missing the members, its Tae joining the show, it’s calling RM, or remarking that specific members would love this or that.
It’s easy to forget in between yapping solos and shippers fighting over crumbs in the trenches on Twitter that the single most important thing about BTS is that they are seven and that their genuine connection is their lifeblood, AND, it’s important to note, the members also know this. So I’m not saying it’s not genuine when they talk about missing members (after ten years attached at the hip I’m sure they’ve had a weird old time in the solo era) but leaving those clips in the show, highlighting them and using them for voiceovers is a conscious choice, one that flows like a thread through everything they’ve done as solo artists. There’s always a mention or a cameo, a little titbit that connects 1 to the other 6, because BTS are 7.
It's not just you. I'm cosigning this opinion. I'm also adding the fanservice was all the titties given to us 😂 y'all remember when ARMY would lose it over bare foreheads and were seeing JKs tattoos through a shitty microwave reflection 😂
Now, both anon and I are not saying the OT7 bond is fanservice, but it's highlighted within the show for a reason. I'm the reason. Most ARMY are the reason. We all fucking lose it over how much the members love each other. It's not "fanservice" but it's what pulls people in. Check how many "OT7 ARMY" accounts finally started posted about AYS when they would call a member or when Tae joined as proof. Their bond isn't fanservice. Hybe absolutely profits off it though. Let's not get all twisty and offended over y'all reading in between non existent lines here, okay?

An oubliette (from French oublier meaning to forget) or bottle dungeon is a basement room which is accessible only from a hatch or hole (an angstloch) in a high ceiling.
That, I am afraid my dear, is what you find yourself in. Jump as you might, you simply are not reaching that hatch in the ceiling.
This oubliette is much nicer than the medieval kind with which it shares it's name. It is padded, and lit, has a bed and seating area, a fully fitted bathroom. Small, but cosy, you'll be comfortable here.
You just won't leave.
What kind of torturer simply leaves his captive to live in comfort, you ask? Oh, there is a twist, don't you worry.
This dungeon can be filled with two substances. From the ceiling hatch, a gas which will heighten your senses.
From hidden grills on the floor, a liquid with similar properties which when combined with the gas, will cause unbearable sensitivity.
Won't you drown? No, I don't want that. When the liquid begins to rise, a full face scuba mask will drop from the ceiling hatch, providing air indefinitely. The way to escape the liquid will be to climb into the apparatus which slides from the wall when a depth of 6 inches is reached. About ankle depth...
This apparatus looks like a bed with a sleeping bag on it. You will climb in, and zip it up,.before moving your arms to your sides to press two buttons which tell the machine you are in position.
The bed will then be retracted into the circular hole in the wall, and the hatch will close behind you, protecting you from the liquid.
The sleeping bag will then inflate, pressing in from all sides, suspending and immobilising you in the centre of the tube you now reside in. Safe from the sensitivity, left to relax in the dark confines of the apparatus.
Of course, then you'll sense the hatch at the foot end of the tube opening. You will begin to squeal as your toes are restrained, and you will realise the cost of escaping full body immersion in the fluid is your soles having been immersed in it...
Tumblr media
And then your real torture will begin.
Why are you here? Don't ask me, I just work here. Now, get comfortable. I've got some other guests to take care of while you take some nice deep breaths of the gas. Remember: climb into the device once it opens to you.
You don't want to know what happens if you wait until you're fully immersed in the serum.

pls pls pls your grace i gotta know more about myrielle’s kind of lesbian situationship that you mentioned a while back 😭🙏
ohh yeah
Tumblr media
so basically ...
myrielle comes to court at 12-13 and while she brings friends along with her from casterly rock, she also makes a few new ones - notably odessa dayne (who belongs to @/daenysdefender but i love to take her and play dolls with her and myrielle thanks chloe) who's betrothed to valarr . in sort of a sense of 'we're united in our fate of being married into the royal family' myrielle grows very attached to odessa sort of like a sister .
of course ... as two girls who spend basically every waking moment together, who center their futures and their betrothals and their lives around each other in some ways, things end up getting a little bit homoerotic . they share a bed as girls do and they share moments where things get more intimate than what's normal for a friendship between girls. share a look. and a kiss. they're married in spirit before either of them are married to any targ man. i think, in a way, myrielle feels protective of her in the ways a husband would- she treats her relationship to odessa almost like a marriage, wants to care for her and be with her in all the ways a husband would, wants some degree of comforting power over her, wants to experience what a man might with a woman - wants to understand aerion's treatment of her by sort of replicating a marriage with odessa.
our timeline is a little messed up here but odessa marries first albeit not super far apart from myrielle. i don't think being married to aerion makes myrielle grow much more distant from odessa, but there's definitely sort of a wedge planted between them even if very subtle. suddenly your best friend is centering her life and her joys and woes around a man, instead of you - suddenly you're all grown up and you can't spend your time on girlish games and some imagined strange love that you share.
just before ashford meadow odessa has a baby that she names baelor . after the best targ man ever BAELOR BREAKSPEAR! sorry. i think myrielle at that point has begun to envy her. she has a husband who treats her with respect and she has a child and she's been allowed to marry the guy who's 2nd in line to the throne instead of the second son of a fourth son . just inherently, any relationship between myrielle and other women are difficult- because she centers so much of her worth and her identity around the men she surrounds herself with. she needs to feel valuable in the ways she's expected to be, which ends up being through marriage and having kids - she spends her whole childhood dreaming of marrying up, of making her dad proud and making her house proud and in that sense odessa kind of gets everything she doesn't. and myrielle doesn't recognize that this isn't odessa's fault: realistically, who will she blame if not her?
buuuuut . ashford happens. myrielle is pregnant, aerion goes off to lys, and after the tourney + after spending a little mourning period with valarr over baelor odessa goes off to dorne to meet with her family and show off .. baelor ...2! ^_^ (the baby). because the great spring sickness hits a little bit after that, odessa stays in dorne and they don't meet for a good long while. i think myrielle goes to summerhall with her brothers + daeron and some bits of aerion's family because i imagine it's not quite as bad illness-wise as king's landing and it's close enough to sort of make a little quick escape to.
that distance between them i think really changes the dynamic a lot and much of it IS just because of myrielle. she has her babies and i think in a way she pits them against odessa's son almost immediately. wants maegor and aenys to be Number One Babies Forever!!!! and has great ambitions for them- which odessa and her son get in the way of very directly. so she ends up raising both of them to be more distant from baelor and insists on almost keeping them apart ...? which works for aenys because he's a mommas boy in the sense of will listen to every evil mean thing myrielle tells him, works less well for maegor because he loves friendship... <3
myrielle's relationship with odessa definitely becomes very strained after they meet again when they eventually return to king's landing. things never quite return to what they used to be, and as myrielle spends more time with and makes more of an effort with aerion she also struggles to make up with odessa (which is funny because she's the root cause of all their issues. never trust blonde women.)
it gets sort of nastier the more time passes. the targs begin to die and aerion + their sons end up higher in the succession, myrielle becomes more frantic about it, her & aerion & aenys spread rumors that baelor is a bastard, it's a little bit like the most hostile parts of the court drama in the dance of the dragon parts of f&b except instead of rumors written by court jesters and maesters it's all real LOL
i imagine it all sort of collapses. in time . families at odds and yuri split apart... well... it's bound to end up badly.... baelor and aenys would have the craziest beef in the training courtyard . that's all i have for you for now anon but hopefully more will come in time

There is so much to talk about with this article. So much. In this post I want to focus on a specific part of it: the reactions of Lindelof and Cuse to what the writers and actors experienced. Here are several quotes [emphasis mine].
“What can I say? Other than it breaks my heart that that was Harold [Perrineau's] experience,” replied Lindelof, who said he did not recall “ever” saying that. “And I’ll just cede that the events that you’re describing happened 17 years ago, and I don’t know why anybody would make that up about me.”
Lindelof told me he didn’t remember any negative incident with an editor, adding that he seeks out input from collaborators and that he’s “never threatened anyone’s career.” Lindelof also said he had no recollection of anything Hsu Taylor said about events connected to “Ab Aeterno.” He said she was a “great writer who executed at a high level” and he’s “stricken” that she was made to feel the way she felt at that time.
Regarding the other allegations leveled at him and the show, Lindelof said he had no memory of the incidents and comments I related. He told me he was “shocked and appalled and surprised” by the incidents I described to him, and said more than once that he did not think anyone was making anything up. “I just can’t imagine that Carlton would’ve said something like that, or some of those attributions, some of those comments that you [shared]—I’m telling you, I swear, I have no recollection of those specific things. And that’s not me saying that they didn’t happen. I’m just saying that it’s literally baffling my brain—that they did happen and that I bore witness to them or that I said them. To think that they came out of my mouth or the mouths of people that I still consider friends is just not computing.”
I'm not going to quote Cuse's responses here because they all boil down to: "I don't remember doing/saying that" or "Nuh uh, that didn't happen!" which is... certainly a choice.
You're going to see a bunch of people siding with and empathizing with Lindelof and praising him for saying that what happened was wrong, etc., and I will push back every time I see it because of all those instances of him saying he doesn't recall and doesn't remember. I don't think he's lying. I do think it's indicative of an ongoing problem with him as a writer and showrunner and it needs to be called out.
I'm going to tell you a story that explains my point. Also putting it and my conclusions under a cut as this is long. Please do read.
Many years ago I became friends with a white woman writer in the SFF community who lived in NYC during some of the time I did. She knew many of the writers and editors in our community who also lived in NYC or nearby. At the time, the majority of these editors were white and most were men. She became particularly friendly with some of them.
A couple of years into our relationship we were at ReaderCon together. One day at the hotel bar I was sitting with this woman (we'll call her Karen for the purposes of this story) and two other BIPOC male authors who had both published multiple books at this point and were people that Karen felt were impressive and important. During the conversation someone (probably me?) brought up the online conversations/debates/fights currently happening about representation in the SFF genre and the way certain editors were part of the problem. I want to say this was even before RaceFail happened.
Karen revealed that she'd been talking to important people like Gordon van Gelder about the things I'd been saying online and how, well... the things I was saying were just crazy. Crazy things! I was acting so crazy.
I don't remember the exact phrasing, but I remember the repeated categorizing of me/my words as Crazy.
I also don't remember exactly what I said in response. I do remember how I felt in my body at that moment. I was suddenly flooded with, I think, adrenaline or something and I wanted to run away because otherwise I was going to start throwing things. I couldn't believe this person, who claimed to be my friend, was saying this to me.
I also remember that I felt trapped because I was in a booth and the two other writers were on either side of me so I couldn't just get up and leave. It turned out I didn't need to do that. Because immediately both of them were like: Hold up. Hold the EFF up.
They both pointed out to Karen that the things I brought up in those online discussions were real issues that did need addressing and that I wasn't crazy and the only reason she thought so was because I was a Black woman and when white people or even people perceived as being white said the same thigs I did, people in the community listened, so what the heck was even wrong with her.
I just sat there, pretty quiet, still trying to calm myself down while this all happened and also felt so very grateful for how these two guys (also friends) stood up for me without hesitating, without equivocating, without giving Karen an inch to continue to talk about me in such a way. I don't even know how that conversation ended or if I even talked to Karen again at the con. I did decide right then that I was going to pull back from our friendship because of it.
A year or so later I ended up having to have a conversation with Karen because of some nonsense she pulled at WisCon. In that conversation I mentioned the discussion we had at ReaderCon and how that truly affected my view of her, a person who was supposedly my friend and who constantly tried to say she was an ally to BIPOC. And that's when she said: What discussion?
At first I wasn't sure if she was feigning ignorance or not. The more we talked, the more I realized she wasn't. She didn't remember the incident. And in that talk I realized why: It didn't have that big of an impact on her.
Even with her being essentially told off by the other two, for her, having conversations where she casually parroted some white, male editor's racist and misogynistic view of me was of little note because she and the other people she spent a majority of time with were doing it all the time. It was just a Tuesday for her. And so after ReaderCon when she continually asked if I wanted to hang out or go on writing dates, she did so as if she had not said some absolutely egregious stuff to me weeks before. Again, to her: a Tuesday.
Having had more experience in life with certain kinds of racists, sexists, ableists, and bigots in general, I can say that this phenomenon was not specific to Karen. It is endemic with a certain kind of person who is devoted to the status quo/dominant paradigm.
So when Lindelof says that he doesn't remember doing and saying these things, he's probably not lying. Because for him, it was business as usual, a Tuesday. Normalized on a number of levels. He was a fish in water and the water was composed of racist, sexist a-holes doing whatever they wanted because no one above them put a stop to it. And that is a problem even 20ish years later.
That Lindelof had to be told he did these things and that he, in all this time, has not reflected on them, not realized on his own that what he did was terrible, apologized, and worked his butt off to not only ensure the shows he runs do not have this atmosphere but to also throw every bit of work that he can to those writers (not necessarily on his shows, but others) is proof that it continues to be a problem. And that he has a lot of work to do to atone for all these things he can't remember--starting by doing a real deep dive into why he can't.
Cuse can't be saved. I suggest we introduce him to a nice oubliette.

yeah man. reminder that an aspec person doing something can never be invalidating to aspecs in general. a person's individual actions are not reflective on the entire community and our job is to remember that we can all do whatever the fuck we want forever ‼️ the people who are leveraging us against each other are NOT our friends and should not be listened to. in fact i advocate putting them in the oubliette
