If I had a nickel for every time I watched a movie where I want the heroine to forget her lesson and date the imaginary friend, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Honorable mention to Alice 2009 for making wonderland real instead of waking her up to a world without hatter.
Cuz honestly, if I woke up and got told I hit my head and it was all a dream, I'd go right back to sleep and try to stay that way. I mean, LOOK AT HIM!!
#drop dead fred#don't look under the bed#fuck growing up!#let them be together dammit#fuck the mouse but don't look under the bed had me in an absolute chokehold growing up#and apparently that gave me an affinity for imaginary friends#cuz a few years later drop dead fred made me fall just as hard#all of a sudden larry WHO#at least sci fi's alice made hatter REAL#the other two could learn a thing or two#cuz andrew lee potts was FINE AF#I always thought the hatter could be hot and boy was I right#alice#2009

Drew a bunch of Marinettes in a bunch of different artists styles it was a lot of fun!!
Artists who's styles I mimicked: @buggachat @hamsternamedmarinette @ladybeug @sabertoothwalrus and @anna-scribbles all epic artists 🤟😎
#my art#marinette dupain cheng#miraculous ladybug#miraculous fanart#style mimic#sorry for the @s btw#yall should go follow those artists if you dont already also#this was sort of inspired by a post the three artists on the top row made#i think they all got together and drew with one another#which is really cool#but i was genuinely confused because i mimic styles a lot#and ive seen others do it too so i was just like#wow they really know each others styles really well#until i thought about it and read their posts some more#style mimicking is really freaking fun and i think its really good practice#and a good way to explore other ways of doing things#like you really have to learn new techniques and get out of your comfort zone#also anna scribbles i could not find a recent pic of marinette in her main outfit#so thats the only marinette i drew in different clothes cuz i couldnt find a more recent ref of you drawing it#anna scribble marinette has privileges thats the others dont#but ye#i also threw my own style in there as a frame of reference to what me draw like#ive drawn marinette before just not in a loooong while#sabertooth walrus was the hardest for me to mimic cuz they have a broad range in their style#so its like which sabertooth do i wanna be in this pic#Buggachat has such a distinct style thats very clean and consistent which is amazing so they were easy#being easy or hard arent bad things either it also has to do with like styles meeting up with one another#buggachats and mine arent too too different in some shapes and aspects#so yeah itd be easier plus they drew marinette like 3 sec ago so i have more recent of a ref#as opposed to sabertooth who i have a recent ref of ladybug but not marinette so we got two diff styles in one

I recently had to do a project in one of my psych classes, and man, I knew that CBT was used for every little thing, but seeing over and over, "do CBT! CBT is the best for every mental illness!" was so jarring. I'm absolutely biased because of my own experiences, but I just don't think it's as universal a treatment model as it's touted.
If you didn't benefit from CBT, it's not because you're lazy or didn't try hard enough or lacked intelligence or foresight into your own needs. Frankly, it's a therapy model that (I think) shouldn't be the only readily-accessible model and among the only therapy models covered by insurance. Some of us should not be treated in a CBT model and that's okay. It's not a sign of poor character or unreasonable demands, and if you don't think it's a model that works for you, then it's your right to express that!
#mental health#mental health advocacy#it was just so annoying because every resource i could access for this project often ONLY recommended cbt and#that just doesn't seem helpful for a good chunk of people#because i know i never benefitted from that model of therapy#obligatory: i am not against this therapy. me having a negative experience with it is not indicative that i believe it should be abolished'#if it works for you: KEEP DOING IT. cbt is not inherently harmful for MANY people and it's a good and valuable tool for many#but the overemphasis of cbt as the Only Therapy Model You Need sends this message that YOU failed...#...if you don't miraculously recover with that therapy model. it often feels like you'll Fail Recovery/Therapy and you're now a Bad Person#i've tried for over a decade to stick out cbt with a dozen therapists to boot. so i think i know a thing or two about my experiences with it#and overall its an unimpressive model (for me) as someone whos had a history with abuse and miscellaneous mental knickknacks rattling around#it's also frustrating because i genuinely like psych and i love learning about people#it's just. i'm tired of only being exposed to cbt (because i hate it honestly)#i feel similarly about cbt as i do with sigmund fucking frued#anyway i just want other insane people (affectionate) to remember that they deserve to not beat themselves up over this#if you're an insane person reading this: i love you i love you i love you i love you#i will share a slice of cake and homemade bread with you <3

#rowlet#welcome to the seventh generation. the things i do for you all. i just had to learn the structure of the code of collada files#so that i could stop making these bitches too shiny to see their eyes so that i could continue doing this#because i am a developer and not a 3d modeler#so it's easier for me to edit the code than it is for me to learn how to use fuckin blender#so i'm probably gonna write up a little script in python to Un-Shinify any models that i get to make it easier for me#but anyway! now that that's out of the way. this is probably one of my least favorite starters#just being honest. i like popplio a LOT and litten more than this at least#it's not that i dislike it‚ i just find that it's a little……… less. than the other two starters of this region#it's still cute and i like the sounds it makes. it is definitely a circle#and like that's awesome. but i like litten and popplio more :/ sorry to that one anon who hated all the water starters but also not sorry#they killed me like twenty billion times so i'm gonna like whatever water starters i want

I’m surprised that malleus’ age is still debated/argued about?? 🤔
He’s a 178 years old fae 😂 and that’s that?? Why try to put him on a timescale of humans when…he’s not??
He’s a fae at the end of the day. Equating him to human ages/developments seems rather strange to me.
Especially when time moves different to a fae, everything related to faes/types of fae are not human in anyway so why equate it to humans??
I don’t know?? Is it just me?? Lol
Maybe I’m just too used to reading/watching/etc stuff about elves/faes/other long living creatures that it never made sense to do that to me.
Honestly I’ve only ever seen this “debate” in twst. 😆😂
#not putting this in the tags#hanas thoughts#I just don’t get it#it’s like…comparing two different animals??? for like of a better phrase#faes and humans are different so I don’t see the need for it 🤔#I would say the same thing about Lilia and the whole 700 = 70 thing to#he’s 700 not 70 lolol#he might act like peepaw in terms of how he acts#but is that really because he’s old or his magic waning#is that a fae still trying to learn humans and not come of as modern or someone that sounds old?#after all fae culture is still different than humans#and Lilia did not learn it the traditional way either#yes he has back pains and signs of age#but that can also be other things too#yes he could be old too but that’s in terms of fae not humans

Enemies AU with Chat Noir and Argos except while Ladybug and Chat Noir are having a complicated Enemies-To-Tentative-Allies-To-Friends(?)-To-Genuine-Trust-To-Lovers Arc with Argos suffering just watching the whole charade of dancing around each other, the moment Ryuko comes into play, they speedrun that arc in record time and suddenly the tables have turned with Chat Noir third wheeling Feligami’s (Ryargos’?) flirt-fighting while he and Ladybug are still stuck in between the Friends(?) and Genuine Trust stage.
Ladybug would lecture Ryuko to stop making out with the enemy… If it weren’t surprisingly useful at keeping Argos at bay. (Should she start making out with Chat Noir? For tactical reasons, of course. She definitely doesn’t think about making out with Chat Noir for any other reasons, uh-uh.)
Also the tables have turned further because usually Chat Noir is giving Argos heart attacks with how reckless and self-sacrificial he is but now Chat Noir has to try and shake some sense into him because, “Félix, Félix, she can TAKE your brooch if she’s that close to you— she almost did!” And Argos, having recently made out with Ryuko, is still very dazed and in Loverboy Mode so he’s there like, “It’s… Fine. I can keep it safe.” Very unconvincingly and Chat Noir is like, “Do you think she’ll stop trying to take it??” And Argos smiles softly and says, “No.” and Chat Noir just. Stops trying to convince him not to kiss her and just tells him to be careful.
#miraculous ladybug#every other hero is baffled at Argos’ switch from being very focused to very distracted by Ryuko#watching him be head over heels for her#and Adrien is happy for his cousin… But could he be a liiiittle bit more careful?#he’s also a little jealous. because he and Ladybug are still figuring things out as they have been for months#but Félix and Ryuko happened within two weeks#Also Ryuko learns that flirting can help her win so she ups her game#Competitive flirting#it’s a win-win#she gets to do her job as superhero AND kiss the boy she likes. she’s optimized her fights#felix graham de vanily#felix fathom#kagami tsurugi#adrien agreste#marinette dupain cheng#feligami#ladynoir#definitely there at least#ml spoilers#technically? I keep forgetting Argos’ whole… Everything counts as a spoiler#miraculous au#that should be everything#I just. Love enemy aus. can you tell.

i really like the dichotomy of everyone respecting Nana as their friend off stage (and the darker feeling she has that they All take from her in one way or another except Karen) but inside the stage duels as performers with her as their ultimate test, they're all still prideful enough to treat it as every man's glory for themselves, making it so they can't hold a grudge against Nana outside the Revues because to everyone the Revues are Just Business and a space for words that don't belong outside it- which plays into the repression that's hurting all their relationships, they really thought of everything making this series
#Day 8 post revstar movie i can hear colors and see sounds#This is why they don't blow up at her over the Revue of Annihilation to me btw bc Stage Nana is for the Stage like them#What happens on the stage gets resolved on the stage and only the aftermaths are taken back to reality#So Nana humiliating all of them was seen as part of the tests they all accepted to grow in the other Revues there's no grudge needed#All goes back to the thematic question of being on an off a stage#Holding things in by avoiding them vs the courage to be honest and independent#basically everyone loves Nana but when it's time to be a performer/personal glory it's just business they put that friendship aside#bc it's time to compete and when you compete 1v1 there's no such thing as friends in that moment- they can be friends again#and put the stage behind them when they're off it not when they're on it nothing personal- what happens in vegas stays in vegas type shit#revue starlight#Also Nana being the only one dressed in white for death & w two sword musashi style she's their literal metaphorical angel of death#Who needed to be invincible and 'kill' them in RoA so they could pick themselves up#Deadass she's not a villain she's just as unstable as the rest of them but she's got a grasp of how reality & self determination work#That the others had to learn in the movie until they're all free and living better for themselves by the end throwing away their jackets

i swear my stepdad is so illogical AND stubborn it hurts
#okay so strap in coz this is a wild ride#tl;dr we have been without heat and warm water for years and i mean literal years#because he refuses to pay off some debt he built up with the company#because he feels unfairly treated (let's not get into this. it absolutely makes no sense) by the company#so instead of doing the logical step of growing some balls and admitting he made a mistake and paying off his shit#he's been looking for a new supplier all over but the deal IS#that he's been doing this with a couple of places before and people are hesitant to even make him any offers#and you'd think that learning about THAT at least now he'd be like. idk willing to just pay off his debt and be done with it#but you'd be WRONG#now he's looking to just have our entire heating system replaced for the teeny tiny price of 25000 bucks#mind you his debt isn't even a THIRD of that#and obviously he can't afford those 25000 bucks#so what's his next step now you might wonder?#well good thing you asked. his next step is going off on ME for not paying towards the new heating he wants#and now that that's not working for him guess what he did next?#that's right. he bought shit expensive 'space heaters' that are pretty much just small little boxes that you plug into an outlet#and he swears up and down that they're going to heat up our house (it's negative degrees outside)#(it's obviously not working)#and genuinely. all i can think of is how much money he shoved into trying to macgyver this house into a house with warm water and heating#and how he blew off ten thousands of bucks he got paid when he retired within the span of two weeks#when this debt could have been paid off ten times over by now#so now you might be thinking. okay tiago. why don't you move out#good question you see. my mom is disabled and reliant on someone who cares for her#something that he can't won't and shouldn't do because the last time he sorta kinda tried she almost died and we had to call an ambulance#she wouldn't eat a thing if i weren't there to cook. the house would fall into disrepair if i wouldn't do maintenance all around#i've set up (functioning) heat in some areas she occupies and i've gotten a boiler going so she at least has warm water#i'm paying off their bills to make sure he doesn't skip on paying any others. i'm buying groceries for them because again they wouldn't get#any for themselves#and finally. i've offered to pay off his debt so that we can finally live like normal fucking people do#and guess what. guess WHAT. he just got mad at me for not adding money to that 25000 bucks pool for that new fancy heating he wants

idk maybe it's because I see all art as various fields of craft work, ie skills composed of a series of linear steps that can be taken to produce certain results, but it irks me when people lose their shit over really basic pieces simply because the end result was able to produce a realistic image. like. especially since I've noticed it shows up a Lot more often in reference to categories of art dominated by women.
like, it's great y'all are gaining a respect for quilting and fiber work, but maybe loudly declaring that you either don't see or don't care about the immense display of skill in pieces unless they conform to what's mildly difficult in the one(1) genre of art you have deemed respectable isn't like. cool.
#this tapestry is so realistic! its the best- its a straight weave. You convert your reference image into a spreadsheet#and then just put the colors in their place. You two could do it with like. 10$ of supplies from Walmart and part of a cardboard box#This quilt! is really basic aplique work.#it lost to the granny quilt because the granny quilt made several hundred corners in cut pieces of fabric line up perfectly#like i know its in part because western art has been obsessed with depiction for a good long while#instead of the geometry of arabic art or expression of lines in a lot of east asian art or symbolic conveyance found across#massive swathes of african art#but its also just. 'I dont take art forms associated with women seriously unless it looks like the art of (a list 90% men)'#idk man. expand your horizons and learn more about art forms other than paintings#and also learn this: realism isnt hard#it's the lowest rung on the tree of advanced art. its the easiest to fake. it can be used to hide massive issues with your fundamentals#it just Looks impressive to the lay person who doesn't know jack or shit about the processess involved in making a Thing

[ cw: technical child endangerment / ]
Y’know every time I see the turtle tots playing with their original weapons I’m always flabbergasted that Splinter let Leo have a literal sword as a small child.
And then left him unsupervised with it.
Like, at least the others had blunt weapons (though still dangerous in their own right, especially Raph’s blunt tipped sais) but Leo’s katana are so easily lethal that it’s a miracle he seemed to be a natural with them. Because, if he wasn’t a natural then…oof.
It’s at least a good thing he only got one sword at first and not his usual two. Splinter would’ve needed to count his lucky days because OOF.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt leo#child endangerment /#splinter is not a bad dad but man needs to realize that sometimes it’s better to start with bamboo practice swords#even if the actual blades are more true to the Hamato clan#it’s a good thing they’re so durable! Leo could have easily hurt himself or others with ONE sword let alone two#and we don’t know when exactly the second sword came into the picture I don’t think#could have gotten the second soon after oof#injury mention /#imagine an au where Leo’s a natural at PORTALS and TELEPORTATION but has a steeeeeeep learning curve for swords#or like imagine him being wary about using swords after that turtle tot short because he fell on them when Donnie crashed into him#nothing says I think I’ll stick with kunai like almost having your throat slit with your own sword!#or any injury because again DANGEROUS to any place not a shell (and even then)#honestly I think about how Leo is almost always the main one to get an explicitly lethal weapon a lot

this is my entire stance on the "american food is bad" discourse summed up
#there are two distinct times when american food is bad#when it's people who are well off or rich enough that all they care about is appearances and how expensive the ingredients are#bcs they don't care about taste anymore it's a status thing#and also when it's stupid gentrified gimmick restaurants basically following the Cesare from Big Top Burger formula#where it doesn't matter how it tastes#it's just about it looking cool or having a gimmick so influences will come take pictures and give you tons of free advertising#that's when american food is bad#bcs rip to y'all but I grew up dirt fucking poor around other dirt fucking poor people of all races and backgrounds#and we COULD cook y'all under the table with these things#when all you have for food is hamburger helper and canned soup well damn you learn how to make it taste good#also those two bad times are NOT unique to america AT ALL#remember the Australian fish and chips that had activated charcoal and looked like actual shit?#this ain't an american problem this is a fucking rich people problem send tweet#this is also why I can't watch chopped anymore#the way they talk about ingredients like those like they're worthless and they can't believe people would eat them#like cool glad you grew up well off enough to afford real people food#the rest of us had to learn to make velveeta taste good and you know what#I could cook your ass under the table with velveeta and all those other 'cheap' ingredients you're mocking

- they're cute 😭 and funny 😭😭 and eiden's "why do *i* have to go" is so... PETULANT i love them they're bickering idiots 🥳
ah, correction*: why "THE HELL HAVE" i gotta go. to be fair, that is a mild reaction to dante suddenly cockblocking him from himself(?). yeah. selfish lover moment deserves at MINIMUM that amount of sass 🤣
#danei#you know i wondered what the official ship name is for them because dantei was my instinctive thought#but i guess that could be mixed up with someone just trying to type Dante and they made a typo#i guess danei in that case is more PURPOSEFUL. like YES i had to STOP before typing out dante's full name#i was used to seeing eiden all... understanding and gentle and sweet with yaku#that his dante dynamic knocked me slightly askew (positive)#i love being reminded of eiden's range... bc all his clan members are such different individuals......#of course he caters to them differently... so powerful and adaptable#i really just wanna swaddle dante and put him in a restful burrito like srsly that guy needs a break#a break where things will not fall apart without him and everything is fine and he learns to rely on others#honestly i don't know how he's not MORE pissed off all the time. if i had to deal with what he deals with daily...#murder spree. or catatonic learned helplessness. there will be no in-between#anyway i hope these two figure more things out together and help each other be stupid without consequence :)#i want them pushing and shoving each other in the fields like schoolkids and yelling the blandest insult comebacks at each other#too bad neither of them can use the “YOUR MOM” finishing blow#or maybe it's funnier... if they both learn to use “YOUR MOM” with perfect timing#that's when their relationship will be in their final form. strong and evolved. beyond mortal comprehension#nu carnival dante#enei

Russ Ballard producing Daltrey's album
1975 Interview
Russ Ballard has something special. Call it professionalism, the sure touch, luck, talent, a mixture of the lot if you like, but everything he's involved in seems to turn out pretty good, even when it's something completely new to him, like record producing.
When he was fourteen, he wrote his first song and sold it to The Shadows after having had the sense to demo it after their style. Having mastered the guitar and scored quite a bit of acclaim for his playing, he turned to keyboards and now nobody hearing him play would think he hadn't been brought up on them. Argent reached the height of their success when he was with them, he gave Colin Blunstone a monster hit with I Don't Believe In Miracles and now Ride A Rock Horse is enjoying considerable favour. Its producer? Russ Ballard! The man, wearing his customary shades, exudes an air of quiet confidence. He can afford to. He's well respected as a musician and as a writer and he's now in a position many people could envy. After all, a singer of Daltrey's calibre doesn't call up just anybody and say "How about producing my album?"! What is really surprising is that Roger should ignore all the established record producers in favour of Russ, who has only ever produced one album before in his life and that was the solo one he made after leaving Argent.
How did his new role come about? "Well, I worked with Daltrey on his first album, played a little drums and piano on it, but I didn't produce that one, just put in some ideas. He must have liked them because when he was planning his second, he just asked me if I wanted to do it." Russ explained. In an issue of Beat dated April 1966, Daltrey himself described his voice in pretty disparaging terms. "I don't have a good voice, no-one needs to tell me that. I'm a screamer with a group and I'm happy. I'm not worried about my voice, though, it is developing and I can notice the change." He also added "I'd get a real kick if I could have a proper girl vocal group backing." It's taken nine years, but now he's achieved what he hoped for, a voice which no-one can deny is pretty exceptional, and backing singers led by Marsha Hunt, care of Russ Ballard! "I was involved with everything." said Russ. "Going through songs with him, deciding what musicians should be used, who would be good for this and who for that." For a reluctant producer, who admits that "I'm not really into production, even though it's a creative thing, I'd rather be an artist." Russ had some pretty definite ideas as to his treatment of the album. "I deliberately kept his voice well up because in so many recordings I've heard of Roger, he's been immersed in sound. He's got such a powerful and such a good voice which contains many aspects that people haven't heard before. What I set out to do on the album was to expose all those voices for the first time. I don't think it is a good thing for a producer to put his own standpoint on an album, the most important thing is to project the artist." Russ thinks that Daltrey's film work has given a lot more confidence and he also found getting to know him has radically changed the concept he had of The Who. "Many people would imagine Daltrey as an ego tripper, but he's not in the slightest. Before I got to know him well, I was under the impression that The Who were Pete Townshend's baby. But speaking to Roger, listening to his ideas, I think that a hell of a lot of his ideas must have always gone into The Who, a lot more than people think."
It was originally Roger's idea to record an album of his early influences. Then he changed rock horses in mid-stream. "By then we'd already recorded Walking The Dog and that Beachboys sounding song, so we were lumbered with them." The second idea was to project the different sides of Daltrey's voice in a collection of mixed rockers and ballads, including three songs of Russ's, Come And Get Your Love, Proud and Near To Surrender. "We didn't actually discuss the point but I felt he wanted to make a heavier album than the one we'd originally planned. Yet not totally heavy, but a record which would compliment the heavier stuff with lighter stuff. Right from the very first session when he sang the first song I could see his voice was so much better, I feel it's improved tremendously since the early Who days even though I think he had a good voice in 1964."
The next thing to decide on was the overall sound and the arrangements. Ex-Shadows drummer Tony Meehan was the man who worked on these. "I decided to make the sound quite sparse,-" explained Russ, "- rather than over-producing it. Some people just don't know where to stop. I decided that if a song called for piano and nothing else, that's what I was going to do." (Hence Phillip Goodhand Tait's beautiful slow rocker Oceans Away with the composer on piano.) "The most important thing in an arrangement is the song. If it's a good one you should be able to sing it with no backing at all and it should still sound great. If it's not, no matter how many extras you add it won't work." Russ reckons that having been in bands himself definitely helped him as a producer, enabling him to put himself in the artist's shoes. Yet he doesn't think he'd like to produce his own next album entirely alone. "When I was in Argent I found being produced by somebody else was very frustrating because I could tell people were veering away from the original ideas I'd had for my songs. That's why I decided to produce my first solo album, which turned out a bit of a mixture because I had a backlog of work to get out of my system. My next album will be slightly deeper, not so light-hearted. I hope to be co-producing it with Muff Winwood, whom I really admire because he's got such a good ear and can really make a musical point."
At the moment, Russ is doing very well with songs of his which are being covered by other artists. One called Heartbreak, has recently been recorded by Olivia Newton-John and yet another is currently being recorded in L.A. by Stevie Wonder's band. Russ has got a new band together consisting of the ex-drummer from Curly, Alan Wickett, bass player Tony Lester and guitarist Alan Skates- "He really does!" joked Russ. He's got three weeks booked in E.M.I. Studios to get the album done. As for his producing career, it looks like Ride A Rock Horse may be his swansong. What if Roger asks him to produce his third album? "Well… if I want to do what I want to do, that is, sing, play, write and record, I just won't have time to produce anybody." said Russ. There's nothing like getting out when you're on top!
#russ ballard#interview#roger daltrey#ride a rock horse#1975#i'm assuming this was an article from around the time the album was out but before russ's winning album so i put 1975#i typed it all out as it showed it in the article except there wasn't a date so like. it's probably 75#it said 'how ballard learned to ride a rock horse' an d i keep laughing about it#anyway. crying at russ's humor#why is his humor always so adorable and like#'alan skates.' -'HE REALLY DOES'#does he russ#does he skate#does alan skate#(also you have two alans??)#it's like when he thought it was so funny to put 'love cliff richard but please don't tease' in god gave rock and roll to you#'i thought it was quite funny-' you sure did russ you beautiful man#or when he was talking about naming his 84 album 'russ ballard' and then was like 'russ balLARD' and then laughed#just saying his own name twice in different ways#sdgsjdhgsj god he's cute#also 'nothing like getting out when you're on top!' and then cut to the future where he produced more songs and albums for people#ALSOOOO stevie wonder's band??#what song was that and did it actually happen? i haven't found anything on that one yet#but anyway the very first words 'russ ballard has something special' you're absolutely right about that one#i need to point out how much i love how supportive he is of people and trying to find the good in things like#trying to point out roger's voice in different ways#although other times russ has also said he felt he was left alone with this album too much#with roger being gone on holiday and filming while russ was trying to work on it#and i can imagine the pressure of still being new to producing and then producing for a big name i mean like. wow i could never

Dick or no dick confirmation Pickles was always going to be trans to me anyways; if he's swingin' somethin that's phallo babes, if he's not then his t-dick fat. What's not to get.
#metalocalypse#jay talkin#I'm sorry they wrote that awful gross little man far too likeable and relatable to on a trans level#for me not to hoot and holler and cheer for the trans pickles agenda#changes nothing about his character arc or any of the show anyone is capable of being the kind of person he is#don't make the mistake of thinking thats exclusive to cis men#his transness wouldnt change that#only adds on an extra layer to him that i think works fantastically.#Listen that dude was rejected by his family driven to drink and drugs young to escape that ran away to be in a band#is called fucking Pickles of all things and refuses to tell anyone his real last name;#over the span of four seasons and two movies he slowly starts to learn to be for others what he never had#he becomes more caring more supportive#it's not a stretch to say he undoes some of the toxic masculinity he's been keeping himself shielded behind#and learns how to be a kinder man.#all of which have no contradictions with him being trans!#In fact it doesn't take much extra thought to find ways a lot of this can line up with some trans masculine experiences#i mean. Did no one else have a younger phase where they swung as far as they could into crass rude and uncaring ways#to try and assert their masculinity only to grow and realise that you can be a man and be more caring.#Did no one else have father issues. 1 800 come on now i know those are both shared experiences a lot of us have had LOL.#at the end of the day this show aired nearly 20 years ago and is finished. we're not getting more of it#so nothing is altered nor changed if pickles is canonically trans or not ok. its fine#i mean hell i dont even need canon confirmation hes trans to me and thats all i care abt#but i think if yr getting suuuuuper weird abt needing him not to be canonically trans you have some issues#and bio essentialist ideals of gender if you think only a cis man can act like he does#again. anyone can be like that. its not exclusive. him being trans would not change him in any way shape or form lol#AND ALSO GODDDUUUGH for once i love getting to see a guy pushing 50 whos depicted as trans#do you have any idea how dire and barren it is out here. we never get to see a trans guy older than 30 and whos not a pristine model#I WANT MORE OLD SHLUBBY SHITHEAD TRANS GUYS IN MEDIA

hate when i see a youtube video that's like 'analyzing why [thing] is bad!' and you watch the video and they just say nothing for twenty minutes
#random thoughts#watched a video on why a specific character was poor representation for survivors of assault#and it was such a nothing burger of a video#'this character is bad because children might see them and think their behavior is okay' okay?#i learned how to block out memories from finn adventure time but that doesn't mean memory suppression shouldn't be addressed in media#plus hazbin hotel. i'm talking about angel dust btw if that wasn't blaringly obvious. is an adult cartoon. for adults#adult cartoons shouldn't have to restrict their subject matter because kids could see it#and angel dust being a male queer SA victim using hypersexuality as a coping mechanism could be good!#and the fact he hits on other people despite it making them uncomfortable isn't exactly a problem a la his character?#it could be a control thing. i used to do something similar (pushing other people's boundaries and complaining when they pushed back)#because it made me feel some kind of control over my life#it could start off as a really shitty joke and then grow into 'oh god is that why he does that??'#but anyway their second main point was that the songs were bad? and that poison being an upbeat song makes it bad#like despite listing many other songs which are upbeat with heavy lyrics. but somehow poison is the exception because it's a cartoon?#like again that could be a character thing. angel dust using obfuscation as a coping mechanism to distract himself from his shitty life.#。・゚゚・the lyrics are upbeat to distract you from how dead i feel inside・゚゚・。#and their reading of the second song seemed really mean-spirited?#like as 'everyone has problems so you're not special because you're a whiny baby' rather than 'you're not as alone as you think you are'#and like if op wanted to just complain about a show they watched then yeah go off i do that all the time#but don't parade it as character analysis???#and they say 'oh reading it as a feelgood you're not alone message doesn't work because these characters' struggles are not equal'#but like. sometimes rape needs to feel like it's not some special trauma. it's not unique and you're not uniquely fucked up for it#two characters' traumas don't need to be directly comparable for them to bond!!!#and im not like. defending hazbin hotel btw. never seen it not going to see it no thanks#i'm just complaining about a mediocre youtube video that i'm going to forget about in a week#god i hate that brand of youtube video. where they just complain about things without going into depth about why they're bad#especially if their complaints are shallow and don't have to do with like. the actual structure of a character or story#like it's so easy to say 'this character is bad because theyre a predatory stereotype' but like. go into some depth at least#i think i hate these videos so much because they're fueled purely by hate. no love for the source material or even a desire to learn#or a love for storytelling even

Where's my sister?! Also it's food day. Feed me.
Sakura has mastered the art of subtlety.
I've also mastered the art of eating things without chewing while I do my impression of a conveyor belt. So please grant my wishes and give me da fishes!
#snake#snakes#pets#hognoses#hognose#sakura#sakura kurīmu#I had her sister out#and either she didn't like not coming out too#or she wanted food time NOW#both are equal possibilities tbh#she always watches me when i have her sister out#half to make sure her sister is okay#and half because she's curious what her sister is up to#she often learns from watching her sister#and often copies the things she sees her sister do#Scoria is without a doubt the leader of the two#genuinely not sure if Sakura thinks Scoria is her mom#or her best friend ever#but she's always going to Scoria for comfort and reassurance#and always 100% on board without question with what Scoria is up to#so many think snakes like hognoses are loaners#but they adore each other and are best friends#the fact they learn from others has me convinced they are social in the wild#and if I could breed them i bet they might even benefit having a mentally well balanced mom teach them about the world#rattle snakes do this with their babies!#and it is so wonderful#i hope we can learn what captive hatched snakes would benefit from this#and see if there are ways to use this information to improve the lives of animals bred in captivity#i have a sneaking suspicion we can do much better for so many
