Eumaeus is Odysseus' swineherd who gave him shelter when Odysseus came back to Ithaca disguised as a beggar.

We learn!

That Eumaeus is actually from royal blood and was taken away from his parents from a young age and sold as a salve to Odysseus father. Odysseus’s mother took a liking to him and raised him alongside Ctimene until she was married off and Eumaeus given the position of swinherd.

I noticed while rewatching the ithaca saga animatics that when Odysseus finds and kills the suitors who are holding torches its a parallel to when they meet Scylla and she goes for the soldiers holding torches. AND both Scylla and Odysseus are sort of focused on Ody becoming a monster. so it shows how he's similar so Scylla, a monster

So... I have this weird ass scene I can see in some kind of Trojan war ahh banquet reunion and the adults are like knocked out by Trojans that somehow survived and now the 2nd gen (but none of them have beef just complications) is trying to figure something out but idk how to start this story- the scene I'm invisioning is:

Sometimes I just think about how Odysseus felt when he learned the Phaeacian’s ship that sailed him home became a rock. Not only killing the crew. But fulfilling, the prophecy of Poseidon, cursing the Phaeacian’s people for helping a traveler. Therefore helping no more strangers.

Like those are other deaths on odysseus’s conscience. people that hosted him,treated him well and helped him get home just for them to meet a devastating end just for helping him
