My comic is so pretty...
The hiatus is letting me take a little extra time on these episodes, and I'm definitely putting it to good use!!!
#almost done with my 8th episode... which will give me. two weeks. of buffer...#id really like at LEAST a month... but to be more comfortable id like two#which means 2-6 more episodes before I come back!#I've got about 7 weeks so its possible. but i do still have to finish book 4#so much to do ..........#I decided for my next comic im doing 3 updates a month.#having 10 days instead of 7 to make an episode is such a huge huge huge difference...#difference in quality and in my health!#anyways the comic is really pretty im really happy with the work im doing rn#the environments especially. im getting to spend a nice amount of time on them and theyre turning out so nicely#its nice to be able to write with a lot of different environments and not have to redo panels when I get to them cause of time#cause every time theres a wild angle? you need a new background...#so sometimes. often actually. there just isnt the time to make the backgrounds for those and i have to make them more flat...#which is fine. it doesnt really affect anything narratively. but. idk. it's kinda sad right?#anyways yeah! 10 days will be much better.#36 episodes a year is about what ive been uploading with my hiatuses on the weekly schedule anyways!#so might as well cut out that super stressful middleman and just commit to that#52 a year is just such a huge difference and i have to accept its not possible to me#i will hurt myself trying to do that. and i want to make comics my whole life!#so i cant push myself that hard now and sacrifice my future. we're gonna go slower after this...#anyways yeah cant wait to come back but also time. if I could get an extra week like a secret one just for me#where theres no chores no nothin just me and my work#thatd be great! so go ahead and do what you gotta do to give me a little pocket dimension#me: ugh i want to return right now...#the more logical me: NO we need the time to finish everything!!!!!! wow bdubs season 10 is really something special. the vibes of building with bdubs are really strong, the editing and music is just so cinematic.
i'm just so excited for another season with bdubs
#hermitcraft#bdubs#bdoubleo100#i've been here since season 8 started (technically i started watching during season 7 but i missed the start)#and it's just been a lot of fun watching bdubs constantly knock me off my feet with his artwork#i'm also incredibly incredibly inspired by the return of bwb for season 3. and the builds have already been incredible#bdubs is a wonderful improviser on the life series and he's hilarious but my true deep love for his content is in the slower moments#of just talking through the story he's telling with his building#+ interactions with other hermits i'm a big sucker for that even though 80% of the time bdubs cuts those to make us watch other povs#anyway i'm just real excited for season 10 i know bdubs is a little far away and his thumbnails have gotten way simpler overtime#(esp compared to season 7)#and i'm just happy to be here and excited to see what bdubs does next

oh my god i hate my neighbor right now

something that never fails to amaze me is how someone will know that you are in pain and/or have very limited mobility and will still walk quickly ahead of you without noticing that you are struggling to keep up. why am I rushing after my physical therapist
#once a friend asked if i wanted to do snth and i told them i could but i was in a lot of pain and could barely walk#and they still walked fast af to the point that i was like walking 10 feet behind them while they kept talking as if i was next to them#how difficult is it to match someone elses pace? i dont understand this. when im walking w someone who's slower than me i just slow down#how is this a hard concept?#and yet every fuckin day of my life im gritting my teeth and pushing past the pain to catch up w mfs who cant be bothered to consider me#formerly ori/ons/belts

looking back at this year is funny because i was on a whole different plane of emotional vulnerability and disassociation from reality for most of it from the #grief and now i look back and im like why was i so upset over six litmag rejections
#like the rabbit knows how to bury itself got ten rejections alone LOL#to be fair to me these were stretched over a year and i was scared I wouldn’t get a pub this year#also combining that with doing litmag stuff and exposing myself to the wider community gave me a lot of impostor syndrome#which like why was I comparing myself to people 10+ years older than me who have been writing way longer too ???#but like no story of mine got more than 2 rejections and two of them got acceptance on the first sub LOL i think I’ve just been so out of i#and there was no strategy really!!! just luck#I was rly focused on where I submitted too rather than doing big wide scopes to just get published anywhere#which is slower but feels more intentional and better for me#but also I do want to submit a lot more next year which means I will get rejected way more#I never did rejection goals bc those are out of my control but maybe a sub goal?#like i made 9 subs this year lol. 6 rejected 2 accepted 1 withdrawn

Bad news: the coworker I was covering for was supposed to be back today and wasn’t, so I was once again dealing with three times my usual workload*. He’s supposed to be back tomorrow but then I am covering for a different coworker being gone until like mid-next week
Good news: I finally figured out what activity my brain has been craving for the last several days! I got stuck in one of those like “cannot start new task until The Task is completed but I do not know what The Task is” loops. It was cleaning! I cleaned a whole bunch and feel a lot better, so I should be able to actually finish something tomorrow
Side note, do y’all ever have your brain assign a task Utmost Priority without being able to figure out what task it is? It’s like craving a food but not knowing which food you’re craving.
*it’s difficult to describe why his work is twice as hard for me to do without saying what industry I work in. He’s not doing twice as much work as I am, it’s just transitioning from one person to another makes everyone he works with extra antsy in a way that makes my job harder?
#the person behind the yarn#I did get so stressed out I cried today but I did NOT have an allergic reaction to the stress#so I am taking it as a win. very low bar but one I am very glad to have met. you know?#also in my quest to discover what the heck The Task was that my brain had decided was of utmost importance#I got the dollhouse chair like half upholstered#and figured out there are MANY ways I could have made this chair easier#the chair was not this weeks Priority Task but hey progress is progress#I also got all the pieces of the latest grumpy bunny turned right side out and stuffed#so I just need to sew the head and tail and assemble it#it's getting closer to being done! slower than I intended#but I vacuumed pretty much the whole house (except other peoples' bedrooms)#did a bunch of dishes cleaned the counters found out there's like a weird ledge on top of the microwave that we've apparently never cleaned#that was disgusting I accidentally put my hand in it. 0/10 do not recommend. It's clean now!#also I got to sing a whole bunch. My current best song to sing while cleaning is Baby I Love You by Aretha Franklin#I did my taxes today just in case that was The Task. It was not! I also rescheduled my next doctor appointment

eurgh pacing
#I HATE pacing so much#I don't want the slow parts but I need them#so backstage time for seven is my lucky number#I really didn't like chapter 10(?) when writing it. the there was only one bed chapter#and I was blown away by how much people ended up liking it#bc it was slow and nothing particularly important happened though nothing particularly important happened in that whole fic#anyway. I'm just thinking maybe that's what pacing can do#but it's just. my twists and cliffhangers. you're supposed to end a chapter on a high emotion that makes you want to read the next chapter#this is why I'm usually ending watching series episodes middle episode because the ending is too exciting#and I can just stop it in the middle and continue the next time#I have been trying to pay attention to switch slower scenes with faster scenes but I'm still worried#which is like totally irrational because I was too scared to look at my chapter all day sjdbdkdn#and I know that they say it's good to sit with your discomfort but is there not like a. shortcut.#also I'm waaaaaay in now is probably not the time to start to think about pacing but pacing#how do you do pacing?#<- genuine question btw share your secrets 👀👀#miaing#joys of being a one-shot writer: you generally don't have to worry about pacing#woes of being a one-shot writer: you don't practice pacing so you end up like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I love how ep 10 had a very different structure and feel to it then the other episodes, it felt unique
#tmf#the music freaks#in all the other episodes the drama builds up slower#they had a slower pace#but in ep 10?#holy shit the drama was everywhere#hitting all the characters#just throwing the plot for a loop#in a good way#but now im not sure how the hell thisll be solved in only one more episode#maybe it wont even be solved#i dont like the idea of that#i also feel like this episode was more cinematic and more put together than others#which yeah rosy improved a lot#but still#i adore how this episode was so and i mean SO dramatic.#i loved it#amazing#stressed for next ep but it was amazing

I like literally don't care what anyone says I genuinely do not believe ANY of the level 10 project diva songs besides negaposi are charted well at all. I think the level 10s are some of the worst charts in the entire game they are endlessly unfun and just don't work at all. I can't properly explain it but the level 10s as a whole it's like none of the buttons go together at all. It feels like they made the 10s to be the fastest and most utter nonsense instead of actually making good charts. And you can tell that's the case because you have absolutely phenomenal 9s and 9.5s (especially dlc 9+) like dramaturgy, jigsaw puzzle, blackjack where the charts are difficult but always feels like it's within your grasp to play. I don't feel the slightest care to get good at the 10s because they're just objectively awful charts

i have a disorder called gets a fic idea then blacks out until it's done
#last week i forgot abt uni work entirely and today i accidentally wrote 5k in two hours. yesterday i wrote on my PHONE the entire train ride#home when i got this idea#that was like an hour half#im so tired but all i can think abt is writing help#LMAO YEAH AND I JUST REMEMBERED last week on my last work i went to my favorite café at noon then next thing i knew the staff came up and#told me they were closing in 10 minutes. it was 5pm. i had written so fucking much#i know im ill but like i also.. have to get myself into the headspace. like today i blasted sad music with an iced coffee after serrating my#skin by writing on it with pen and smoking a fag. i feel like im two seconds from not taking my meds so i can really FEEL the suicidality#and write so so good but that's a bad fuckin idea so im gonna stick with writing slightly slower/needing more editing for the tone of#someone who wants to die deeply and keep my mental health in tact#anyway i love projecting onto characters to work through my own problems it's so !!!!#lessons of the hand and the mouth
