#BEGONE!!! *wizard beam blast leaving a black smoking crater in the middle of the tumblr dashboard*#I think another downside to everyone doing everything on phone apps on shitty tiny screens nowadays is the inability to really see details#of an image and thus its easier to share BLATANTLY fake things like.. even 'good' ai art has pretty obvious tells at this point#but especially MOST of it is not even 'good' and will have details that are clearly off or lines that dont make sense/uneven (like the imag#of a house interior and in the corner there's a cabinet and it has handles as if it has doors that open but there#are no actual doors visible. or both handles are slightly different shapes. So much stuff that looks 'normal' at first glance#but then you can clearly tell it's just added details with no intention or thought behind it. a pattern that starts and then just abruptly#doesn't go anywhere. etc. etc. )#the same thing with how YEARS ago when I followed more fashion type blogs on tumblr and 'colored hair' was a cool ''''New Thing''' instead#of being the norm now basically. and people would share photos of like ombre hair designs and stuff that were CLEARLY photoshop like#you could LITERally see the coloring outside of the lines. blurs of color that extend past the hair line to the rest of the image#or etc. But people would just share them regardless and comment like 'omg i wish I could do this to my hair!' or 'hair goallzzzz!! i#wonder what salon they went to !!' which would make me want to scream and correct them everytime ( i did not lol)#hhhhhhggh... literally view the image on anything close to a full sized screen and You Will SEe#I don't know why it's such a pet peeve of mine. I think just as always I'm obsessed with the reality and truth of things. most of the thing#that annoy me most about people are situations in which people are misinterpreting/misunderstanding how something works or having a misconc#eption about somehting thats easily provable as false or etc. etc. Even if it's harmless for some random woman on facebook to believe that#this AI generated image of a cat shaped coffee machine is actually a real product she could buy somewhere ... I still urgently#wish I could be like 'IT IS ALL AN ILLUSION. YOU SEE???? ITS NOT REALL!!!!! AAAAA' hjhjnj#Like those AI shoes that went around for a while with 1000000s of comments like 'omg LOVE these where can i get them!?' and it's like YOU#CANT!!! YOU CANT GET THEM!!! THEY DONT EXIST!!! Every day since The Change I search tags for posts about the new Twitterfication and I am clicking hearts in solidarity.

Staff may be "committed" to the change but Tumblrs hate it. Posts are smaller. The left navigation is huge. Tags broken. Tumblr Live is ick. Drafts are buried. Cluttered. Whyyyyy does it look like Twitter? Ads play audio now. Weird stuff in suggested/you might like.
Oh and.. the porn bots are back. Just got a new follower with big boobs and no posts. Fuck it. Vulgar is the new black.

ugh why am i always part of the A/B testing for the shittiest changes. i got the new dashboard when it was first tested (and now use addon magic to undo it) and now @staff are giving me the gross no pfp shit. this one is such a bizzare change anyway it's not like showing the pfps is even screen clutter. it's just a nice "click on this person's blog" button that's easier to get to than just the blog name. fix your fucking website.

Just feels like you're intentionally making the desktop interface an inhospitable place in order to drive users toward the app or off the site entirely. Is that what you were going for? If so good job I guess.

are tumblr links in browser broken for anyone else. like no link works when i actually click on it i have to go into my address bar and hit enter on the actual url for the page to actually load
#like it just loads a blank page initially sometimes with the top bar#i mean like links for tumblr stuff offsite links work fine#but this goes for stuff like likes page or asks links from dashboard view blogs sometimes blogs themselves#sometimes even the new post page altho this one loaded fine i guess just to prove me wrong

The worst part about my mobile Tumblr not working properly is because I can only see the 'For You', 'Your Tags', and 'Blog Subs' dashboards, I can never find anything again unless I have notifs on for them.
I saw a post by a blog I follow on the For You page I was gonna reblog but I hit the wrong button and it refreshed. It's now an entirely new dashboard of posts with few repeats, if any, so to find that post again? I have to find the blog it was on... But blogs don't load past the button to send an ask so I then have to turn notifs on for them, then go to my Blog Subs dashboard and start scrolling
After scrolling a while, I then discover that it wasn't a recent post and it was from anywhere upwards of six days ago. Because the For You dash isn't chronological at all, but the Blog Subs dash is.
Now add in the fact that sometimes Tumblr eats the posts on the Blog Subs dash so I never see them unless I scroll really far several days later.
This is the hell I live in.
#i have to find every post like I'm hunting the last bird on earth#a scavenger hunt but the map is randomised every time you look at it#and yes i have to do similar thing for posts I've been tagged in or have gotten comments on!#yes this includes MY OWN posts!#oh wait i have an idea#pop rox dashboard#new tag! everything i ever post will now have that tag so that i can use that tag to view every post!#doesn't work for reblogs though i have to use the same system of copying the original link into firefox to get those i guess#same for comments#yes this sucks no there's not much i can do about it but suffer#maybe it's a good thing no one interacts with me anymore cause while i can access asks fine i don't get notifs for them now for some reason#on mobile anyway its fine on laptop#anyway#pop rox talks
