-whenever you two hung out you would just sit on the medbays bed and swing your legs back n forth since you didn’t reach the ground. Knockout found it quite amusing, he’d definitely tease you for it.

-When the two of you got close, you started falling for him first. Mostly because of his flirtation…yeah…like I said, curse his flirtatious side😢

-Of course he’d still flirt with you, making you flushed everytime you’d leave the Medbay after your daily conversations.

In lieu of a long weekend

sunday, may 19, 2024 ~ 11:30pm

technically tomorrow is a day off but the nice thing about grad school is that means essentially nothing for me, and tonight still feels like a sunday night—but it was a beautiful, mostly work-free weekend up until now

reading i forget now whether i mentioned this in my last ilcb, but last month i listened to the audiobook of jenn lyons’ the ruin of kings, which means that now it’s time for the sequel! started these huge fantasy epics on the recommendation of @booksmithereens, who has yet to steer me wrong—but i will say that upon first getting started, I didn’t especially follow (or care) all that much about most of the world building, especially since trok starts in with a lot of slavery and physical / sexual violence. upon second read-through, because i did go back with the ebook as soon as i finished listening to trok the first time, i think i was able to take more pleasure from the characters’ dialogue—there are very funny moments—and from the originality of certain features of the series’ take on deities and magic. i’m 28% through the audio book of the second novel, the name of all things, and i adore that we’ve got a new snarky editor leaving footnotes and editorializing comments, and that we have a new female pov character who really adds to the (intentionally) one-dimensional view of her we were given in the first one. these are good companion books for when i’m toiling in the hollow knight mines (have i explained how i have hacked boss fights for myself by turning off the game sound and instead relaxing, listening to an audiobook, and just getting to focus on the visuals—the flow state this induces can last for. hours. and has yet to get old), and they are another worthy entry in the dragons/magic/demons/swords/prophecy type fantasy canon.

watching finally finished (screaming, cringing, laughing, etc) season one of the white lotus with g and @hematiterings. all things considered, an easier ending than i feared, weirdly? i lost count of full-body cringe reactions (from sheer gut-churning dialogue, not the way kids use ‘cringe’ these days) at like 10, and then we started season two (which we’ve all seen the first few episodes of) and the counter had to start over at the beginning. still fun though. still fun.

also watched the first three-four episodes of dungeon meshi! which i thought were excellent, but i now have just enough context to be really actually affected by casual spoilers, so i may have to blacklist it here on the blue hellsite for now, and watched episode 4 of house of the dragon this evening whilst folding my laundry. i am holding out for when this show introduces the new lead actresses because I have seen their interview in gifs going around and i would like to see it. so far though, i’m distressed by the politics and bored by the action, as is to be expected from a game of thrones show.

listening hmmm chappelle roan Hot to Go has been stuck in my head for a while now so let’s go with that. initially I thought the lyrics to most of her new album really didn’t live up to pink ping club (see my 2021?2? Ilcb where i went on at *length* about how good that song is) but you know what, we’re capable of admitting when we’re wrong and this is one of those times. H! O! T! T! O! G-O!

playing i got the sharp shadow charm in hollow knight today! Nosk and the enraged guardian have been kicking my ass by turns. i had so much geo I had been carefully carrying around and reclaiming every time i died because millibelle had her career pivot and closed my account 😝 and i finally lost it today. Alas. but since there was nothing i could buy at any of the three vendors i visited, it was all going to end up in the fountain anyway.

making this was a little while ago now, but i finally did it, i made a recipe following a b. dylan hollis video! the coffee loaf from 1959– surprisingly, i had all of the ingredients on hand (including powdered milk?!) and i was so excited by this that I didn’t stop to ask whether i *should* make this caffeinated baked good. recipe worked well, the consistency was great and all, but a single square inch of it and i feel like i’ve single-handedly drunk a pot of strong coffee. this is a me problem, i’ll grant you, but it is amusing to me that i’ve made a cake I physically cannot eat too much of in a single sitting. it is drying out in the fridge as we speak. heart palpitations aside, i am proud of it though.

working on it occurred to me today to look back at the timeline i made for myself at the beginning of the month, and i’m four days past the first deadline on it without having even really touched the chapter itself. blargh. sent two emails yesterday, and two that had been worrying me the day before, and worked a bit on the newsletter today. chipping away at things.

What fandoms or franchises do you think they are in or follow? Could be podcast related, Reddit forums they are a part of, movie sequels or trilogies or novels!

Definitely something that should be mentioned more in canon comics so let’s use this as a manifesting moment by detailing it out 🤭

Right off the bat, I have to make it clear to absolutely everyone that Barry is 100% a Trekkie and Hal is most likely a Star Wars fan. And while we’re on the most heated sci-fi debate, I’ll add that once Hal and Barry became friends and Barry learned more about the Green Lantern Corps he undoubtedly introduced Hal to Star Trek and successfully convinced him that it was the superior sci-fi franchise, we stan two Trekkies 😜

Now then, I don’t think Hal would be very into book series or fantasy in general but he’d definitely have a particular interest in the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy and I think he’d try Game of Thrones and The Witcher because of everyone’s recommendations but would probably not like it very much. He’s the noble-type though and would be pretty easily convinced to read the Lord of the Rings books (including the Hobbit and Silmarillion) because of the nobility of the characters and story. Same reasoning goes for Donita K. Paul’s DragonSpell series. He’d also probably be into the writings of Henry David Thoreau, Ernest Hemingway, and Raymond Carver, not hugely into them necessarily but if he was super bored and he had access to their stuff he’d dig it haha. His favorite poem would also probably be Tennyson’s In Memoriam A.H.H.. I don’t see him being too into podcasts, but he’d definitely like rock bands like Foreigner and AC/DC. He’s also definitely into movies more so than tv shows and would love movies like The Right Stuff, Top Gun, Braveheart, The Patriot, John Wick, most blockbusters classics really, and probably anything with Bruce Lee haha. He’d probably think anime/manga was for nerds until someone pointed out that Dragon Ball Z was, in fact, an anime then he’d realize they can be pretty cool hahaha. And with video games, I’d say he absolutely doesn’t have the patience for long form RPGs but can probably be convinced to play some FPSs with friends like Call of Duty and Halo lol. Basically, this was a long way of saying that Hal is probably more sporty, not in an obsessive fan of sports way, mind you, just that he participated in mostly sports growing up and even as an adult probably prefers hanging out playing baseball with kids (Adams’ GL run has an adorable scene of just that) rather than watching/reading/listening to anything so essentially he’s just not very media-obsessed; he’s a doer! He also probably wouldn’t participate in the fandoms of any of the media he does consume because he cares more about engaging with the media itself rather than about others’ thoughts and feelings on it haha.

Onto Barry, honestly, Barry is kind of tougher for me to figure out purely because I feel like he and I are very similar so I’m inclined to list basically all my favorite things and my thought processes haha, but I’ll try to avoid doing that 😝. So, like I said, Barry is definitely a Trekkie, the Federation’s belief in preserving alien lives and lifestyles plus its dedication to exploration and science all appeals to his inner nerd. He probably loves the shows For All Mankind, The X-Files, and Bones because of their science-y natures (he definitely introduced Hal to For All Mankind and it’s one of the shows they watch together haha). We all know he’s a huge comic book fan (shout-out to Pre-Crisis that had him reading Golden Age Flash comics 😜), but I’ll also add that I think this love of Golden Age Flash, thanks to his mom, would have led to his own love of Greek and Roman mythology once he realized where the idea for Jay Garrick’s helmet and shoes came from! A love of mythology would eventually lead to a love of ancient western philosophy and writings then to Medieval romances like the Arthurian legends and the works of Chaucer. Old English stuff would’ve crept in there too starting with Beowulf. He was an old soul from a young age so all these things would’ve caught his eye on trips to the library and the old-fashioned romantic notions and chivalry has definitely stayed with him. All this appreciation for much older works would then slingshot back around to him loving and appreciating more modern works that took heavy inspiration from all this older literature like The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, the Percy Jackson series, the Harry Potter series, the Codex Alera, and the Dresden Files, oh and all the detective novels, just all, from Doyle, Christie, Poe, Hammett, etc. then when he found foreign detective fiction he’d go mental and just read them all haha. He’d also probably read the Remo Williams and Jack Reacher book series and convince Hal to do the same! I’d say he’s also into old movies and classic tv shows because they all make him feel good with their sweet morals and happy endings. He’s probably not much of a gamer except for the ones with good stories, he’s too interested in learning new things to just watch someone else play though, if a game’s story interests him then he’s definitely playing it himself. Mass Effect is probably one of his secret favorites. He’s super into podcasts, anything informational and/or scientific, probably conspiratorial and/or true crime stuff, too, if for nothing else than to help him get inspiration on how to approach his own cases, he may even try and solve some cold cases that he hears about (he’d probably stumble across Black Box Down then convince Hal to listen with him haha). He definitely grew up with both the Pokémon TCG and show and was actually aware that it was an anime so is likewise somewhat into other very popular anime/manga like Naruto. Music would be jazz (he’d try and fail to get Hal into it, too, see: New 52 Flash’s Annual #2), 60s rock like the Beatles and the Monkees, and probably 80s pop like the Culture Club, oh and Air Supply (which is also Hal’s guilty pleasure band hehe). He likes sports a lot, both playing and watching, but was still more likely to be found reading/watching/listening to something rather than playing; still, the same way Hal can be convinced to play a video game in order to hangout with friends, Barry can be easily convinced to join in some sporty endeavors if it’ll mean bonding with a friend or loved one. Finally, like Hal, I don’t see him engaging too much with fandoms, he’d probably try when he was younger but wouldn’t find too many people who were into the same things then when he did find people things would devolve into arguments instead of just joy for whatever the thing was so he eventually would resign himself to just enjoying the thing itself, our Barry is a soft boy 🥹. He likes discussion though so once he found people who were his safe space they wouldn’t be able to get him to shut up hahaha.

I was just going to name a few popular franchises that each would be into, but then I started thinking about mediums and how they’d appreciate different ones and then… all this came out lmao 😅😂. My Demon └ Moments

EPISODE 1 • So happy to see Madam Ju here. I never get tired of that parental archetype! Makes me teary-eyed. While the Sunwol Foundation supporting artists and superb art makes me starry-eyed! • I found it funny how this fight basically consisted of how he's able to trap his opponents inside a newspaper with peculiar headlines and/or captions. • Wondering why she couldn't sell her soul or he wasn't able to buy it when she was desperate and willing...

EPISODE 2 • They irritated each other so much at the beginning. I don't romanticize that, as life and much in it irritates me plenty already, but I like how they do it less and less so instead of going in circles with it as if it's comical or adorable. • TBH, that guy (the cousin), gave me a bad feeling since the first moment I saw him. A peculiar discomfort whenever he's around, too. But of course, I gotta give the benefit of the doubt and gather evidence before reaching any conclusion. Sigh...

EPISODE 3 • It's not gonna be shown in excruciating detail how much she had to mentally and emotionally adjust to the situation. But suddenly hanging out with a demon isn't something that can be taken casually. Being abruptly teleported to high places and all of that. • There's some emphasis on the name 'Salvation' and maybe that's their theme. I like it. In a time when so many insist on repeating the lines "save yourself" and "nobody's coming to save you", it's soothing. Do Do-hee might be particularly inclined to value that due to her past, though, despite being quite independent too.

EPISODE 4 • "You're treating me like a wireless charger." "And you treat me like a Pokemon." That about sums it up. 😄 • That tango fight was soooo unnecessary (since he can just snap his fingers), but I guess he likes to dance (and I'll never get over how often background music saves the day). 😝

EPISODE 5 • “The world was never an easy place to begin with. You get trampled on and eaten up without power.” A person with this as their modus operandi? It’s more common than you’d think. Among the most insufferable to me (admittedly, unbearable). I definitely would not want to live in a world ruled by them. And though there’s some truth to this statement, “There’s only one way the powerless can survive. Siding with the most powerful.” It rests on a fundamentally flawed assumption, and it’s that THEY are the most powerful. It takes more power to lift and alleviate others than to corner and/or crush them.

EPISODE 6 • I take that moment of Jeong Gu-won falling with yet saving Do Do-hee from being dropped from the heights as something symbolic too. • Choosing to marry Jeong Gu-won instead of Joo Seok-hun, the best decision ever. I don't know how much it really bothered Joo Seok-hun, but I don't even want to imagine how boring (or worse) Do Do-hee's life would be next to that guy. Sounds horrible on my part, but where's the lie? They're just not a good match, IMO.

EPISODE 7 • I tried, but I don't see the point of Joo Seok-hun being on screen so often and for so long. He's supposed to be the skeptical, inquisitive, and concerned character there? But I fail to see any instance in which he did anything more than interrupting and delaying progress to satisfy his curiosity and secure his repose. That and occasionally saying things that are deeply unnerving to me. "I admit that I'm not a scary person. But I can certainly be a nuisance. I'm quite persistent. I'll disturb and bother you so persistently that you can no longer maintain the peace and happiness that you enjoy in your daily life. You see, one termite can slowly eat away at the wood to the point that the whole house collapses." But sure, have him around. This is literally what he does to my enjoyment of this show. (And I've played enough WoW to know that DoTs can kill you if you let them be.) • Frankly, I do not at all find them to be too harsh towards streamers spreading dis/misinformation for clicks, views, subscribers, and tips. These people have zero regard for the lives they fuck over doing this shit.

EPISODE 8 • "Do what's best for you. Because that's what's best for me." The epitome of symbiotic relationships. But even if he's reckless enough to not care what negative consequences could affect him for loving her, I root for her to help make him even more hardcore and badass, powerful too. Rather than "insignificant and weak", become even more epic and iconic. Gotta have breaks to relax and enjoy too, though, 'cause that's not everything either.

EPISODE 9 • My dried, shrunk, and hardened heart cannot handle all this cuteness. OMG!!! 😆 • Someone get these drunks clear water and real food!! 😵 • A-ha! The homeless person living within boxes and occasionally spewing insightful and thought-provoking lines finally shows their true nature! This entire part sent shivers down my spine. 😮

EPISODE 10 • So he sacrificed his life to save hers like she did for him at the beginning and the tattoo got transferred back, so all his powers returned? Good! I was going to be mad if they both ended up as weak mortals with some cliche about being human. 😫 • Man, Jin Ga-yeong deserved waaay better. I'm amazed she didn't go full psycho-villain after all that neglect and dismissal she endured over this ordeal.

EPISODE 11 • PLOT TWIST! This pair went through EVERYTHING.

EPISODE 12 • I'm not crying. You're crying. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 • For what it's worth, a reminder that escapegoaters gonna escapegoat. Sooner or later, no matter what. When someone's not quite fitting in.

EPISODE 13 • The concept of happiness being potentially poisonous is something to write essays on, but I do appreciate Jeong Gu-won's insistence on joy. Letting people get swallowed up by sadness isn't better. It's adorable that he humors her with festivities, too. • I... could rant forever about how much I despise men like Noh Seok-min. But I shouldn't. I kind of wish Jeong Gu-won would give him what he deserves. But looks like his hell has already started. Still, tragic that that's the kind of "family" Do Do-hee has to deal with. With the blatant fake polite BS just to get what he wants and the taking offense when called out on it and more.

EPISODE 14 • This is such a load of fiction but I can't stop watching. • Beyond that, this episode was... "So you wanted a demon husband, huh? Can you even handle the reality of that?" And a "Who has the worst baggage/skeletons in the closet?" contest type of episode. • Jeong Gu-won, DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE HER ALONE!!! Being all, "Wuwuwu, I'm bad for her... ):" HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT MEN ARE LIKE THESE DAYS? YOU'RE GOOD. GREAT, ACTUALLY.

EPISODE 15 • Do Do-hee is such a heavy sleeper. Jeong Gu-won goes around, doing all sorts of things, while she's contently snoring and drooling on a pillow. • She finally got to see more of how it all began. Not to get too idealistic and romantic, but it is astonishing to see how intertwined they are. Sometimes you bond with another and forget exactly why and how, but the ties remain - keeping you together or coming back to each other, if not just making it harder for you to walk away over petty/trivial reasons.

EPISODE 16 • Bawling my eyes out seeing kindness passed around now. I'm not even religious but the angel part got me so bad. T-T ♥ • I almost, almost... feel bad for Noh Seok-min. He's getting what he deserves, though. • I don't know if it's bad casting or acting, but Joo Seok-hun is still very suspicious to me. They don't usually make more seasons of 16-episode Korean series like this one, from what I've heard. But I could bet he's the hook for a potential next one. He did say at one point something along the line that he was good at looking innocent - and he spent the entire show meddling and prying while looking innocent. But who knows. Maybe this just wasn't the time for such a character to shine as the villain.

West Ontario: Thunder Bay and Kenora

It feels like ages ago that I left Sleeping Giant as I'm currently in Calgary, three provinces further west 😅 but been busy traveling with very little internet access, so will aim to catch up by writing shorter posts! 🤞

On the way to Thunder Bay I visited the Terry Fox memorial - for non-Canadians, he was a young man who ran a "marathon of hope" to raise awareness for cancer; having started in St John's in Newfoundland, he ran 3,339 miles across Canada close to here, where he had to stop as his cancer returned & he died shortly afterwards. Supporting Terry Fox runs by friends were the first donations that I made in Canada (I must admit I never ran myself) and he has rightly so turned into an inspiration for many. The memorial serves both as a reminder that our health is the very first thing we should take care of, and as a motivation to never give up on life... ❤

In Thunder Bay I did the usual errands plus an unsatisfactory visit to a BMO bank branch, where I had hoped they would reinstate my credit card after a suspicious activity... however, they only could send a new card to my friends in Dundas (where I'll be back end September 🤔) so that stressed me out but luckily with the help of great friends 😍, I received the replacement card this morning in Calgary so I can now worriless continue spending 😝.

Half an hour west from Thunder Bay I breaked for lunch at the Kakabeka Falls, the so-called "Niagara Falls of the North"... although pretty (& in a more natural setting than Niagara Falls), the comparison doesn't really hold true 🤣

After that it was a 2hr+ drive to the little village of Ignace where I stayed in a lovely inn on a lake, run by a couple that used to live in Toronto but had moved here during the pandemic in search for a quieter life (which it certainly is with its 1,200p population!) .

Along the drive, the trees were still the same boreal forest (which I probably will never want to see again after this roadtrip 😁) and it was grey and boring so couldn't wait to stop for the day... the only interesting thing is that I changed another hour back in time, similar to Labrador not at a provincial border but just randomly somewhere 😅. Meant I had an extra hour to sit with my legs up!

Next day, I made the last 3-hour push to arrive in Kenora, the most westerly town in Ontario and famous for being on the massive Lake of the Woods. The roads were much busier here with several links to the US border, and suddenly it became agricultural with rolling fields west of Dryden, a change from the forever-forest!

In the evening, the lake at my campsite at Rushing River provincial park became dead still and massive clouds turned pink when the sun set... pretty! 😍 As a really great plus, there were no longer flies and very few mosquitos which makes being outside so much nicer. As a really big negative, there was a snake that came my way when I was sitting at the picknick table chatting with a friend. After booing it away, I researched Ontario snakes and although the common eastern gartersnake is not poisonous and doesn't normally attack, I was less than pleased when it showed up next to me again! 😵

In the morning, the water was still very calm so had a beautiful paddle before breakfast. I never cease to be happy when I'm on the water!! 🤩

Thereafter, I drove into town for a boat tour on the MS Kenora along tons of islands, rich houses, "devil gaps", spiritual rocks as well as 6 bald eagles. It was pretty but very hazy due to the smoke so then everything turns into the same gray-yellow hue... 🤨

After visiting an art gallery dedicated to a local painter and an interesting exhibit on the 150th anniversary of Indigenous Treaty #3 - " which will last as long as the sun will shine and the water runs, that is to say forever", it was patio time for a drink & snack with view on the lake! ☀️ Back at the campground, it was so sticky hot that I went for another little paddle to the beach and a refreshing swim 🤓

There was too much wind in the morning for another paddle so spent some time cleaning out and repacking the car, throwing away any items that I hadn't used for the last two months, no point in keeping those!

Although it was a great spot on the water, the campsite was a walk-in on a slope so I ended up hating it going up & down endlessly to my car... mental note never to book that again!

Before heading out, I did a small hike along the namesake rapids that the park was created for, but it was hot & humid so not enjoyable.

Time to say goodbye to Onario and off to Manitoba!

I always read too much into thing so this is me being bored and high, mainly high 🫥🫢

I went and watched the last Marina scene , I ended un watching a bit before when Carina is taking to Ben & Captain asshole.👨🏻‍✈️🍑🕳

Firstly: I noticed Stefania has changed her acting a little bit (maybe it was the director or maybe the depth and emotion of the scene), mind, I literally watched only that part so I can’t be 100% accurate on my review and statement so please take it with a pinch of Italian salt🫣 🧂

Stefania seems more controlled and calm in her acting, especially with her gestures, body language and a lot A LOT with her voice, I feel like she controls her accent more.🇮🇹

Sometimes it’s like she or the writers/Director (can’t say who choice it was) tend to emphasize or push too much her “being Italian” (I am, as I mentioned before, half Italian, I speak fluently with a slightly Roman accent, I lived 13 years in Rome) and I always thought it was a little bit of a caricature at times, a bit stereotyped and over the top her being Italian.🤨

It seems like she’s more grounded in her acting, or maybe I love more when Stefania acts in dramatic scenes, the one on the roof was very intense and in my opinion she doesn’t come off too aggressive or controlling like many many times before (yes, it’s both In the writing but especially in her acting choices) I feel her body language is more restrained maybe also because the scene show a bit of emotional separation between Carina and Maya, I can see the frustration anger and desperation but most of all disappointing (especially in her eyes) but it’s well balanced especially with Danielle acting choices.⚖️🎬

Note: the only thing I didn’t like of Stefania acting was that fake laugh ah ah ahah (that was unnecessary imo and a bit awkward, if I could I would have replaced with: “Oh please”, that seemed a bit rude) 🤔

I love how in the scene (whoever decided it) they are never really close and there is a whole roof in between them, it was a good choice to show the emotional and physical distance between them at that moment, and when they do get closer, for that little moment in which Maya talks, they do not look in each other eyes, and you can tell Carina tries to calm herself down/reason with what’s going on, and trying to get to Maya point of view(something that she had much difficulty doing on previous seasons) 🎄🏝🌹🍁

I love the way she drops “my love” like a statement, it’s a small thing but it show that this is a fight about frustration and disappointment but it stand on the back of so much love. 🥰 See I’m over analyzing now, lol thank you for that 😝.

I feel like Maya has built a little bit of a wall and you can see how she crawl into herself when Carina says: “I can’t make a baby with that”

Btw that little bit of acting of Danielle “Oh with that…” holy forking shirt balls, that was fantastic from Danielle, damn she’s so good, I wanna cry for how she is undervalued and underused, she literally make shit writing shine 💩✨

It’s amazing, she says so much with her eyes her body language and body awareness is perfect and then when she start “IF…l”

As you can tell I think Danielle acting is the one I prefer between them, and I think she’s the reason Stefania to me is so much better in the scenes with her than any other actors on S19, (and maybe also why I thing Stefania acting is improving so much) that’s why I’d like Stef to have more scenes with other cast members especially Barrett, I wanna see what she can do and bring. Unfortunately when she acts with Grey it’s impossible to tell cause his bad acting choices ruins everything. 😩🤌🏼👏🏼👋🏼🤙🏼👎🏼

As I mentioned once: some actors elevate others, like Danielle does especially with Stefania and some actors makes everything cringe and unwatchable like Grey, but if you notice Danielle can obscure Grey acting if the editing and directing is done well (that’s something that went to shit last season on S19 imo, with writing of course)

Anyway that’s it, I prob forgot so much or said a lot of 🐐💩

My final thought is this: They both can turn shitty writing into something extraordinary, I only wish they had their own show maybe an old school Drama/Comedy cause lesbihonest they chemistry and acting is fucking wasted on Shithole19

Hahaha I loved this and that you had such elaborate thoughts while high, it was lovely!

I actually noticed a shift in Stefania's acting too and in a good way. She seemed much more composed and the accent seemed less to me too, especially in that long scene on the roof with Danielle. They really just complement each other so well and that's why their scenes together are always so good no matter what the writing consists of. I agree the fake laugh was the only cringe moment for me as well. But otherwise the way they were both distanced but voiced their frustrations and feelings, it was all wonderfully done by both of them.

Danielle is criminally underused and underrated on this show. She is so damn good with everything she does and she should really be getting so much more material because she is the best actor on that show and it's not even close. The little mannerisms and choices she makes like you said as examples just make the world of difference and she's doing it in all of her scenes. She elevates the work of everyone around her too, not many people can do that. I really can't wait to see what she does after this show because she deserves to excel elsewhere.

I will forever wish they had their own show or had different writers because they both deserve much better and deserve to have writers who will embrace their on and off screen magic, not try to dim it with nonsense and even still it doesn't work because they're just too good together. It's why some of us can't stay away!

I know they are far from the only people who are like this, but instagram moments involving Louise seem far from organic, natural, real. It's either (most often boring!) too cool (pouting), failing miserably at "perfect," or too over-the-top. I get you have to give people something they want to look at, but if these women are not as annoying & superficial as they come off, I would be highly surprised. For example, Breana's page has some stereotypical hipster things, but she is a genuine artist & her letting loose, "getting crazy" clips like her trip to Joshua Tree, come off as genuinely fun & real. This Louise thing screams, "let's give these bitches something to be jealous of! Go crazy, Louise, you're living the dream!" But, I guess it is because they are not real friendships, but connections only based on the superficial fame connection. By the way, Louise is personifying this, lmao -> 😝

Physically: I'm 5'2 and have dark skin(I'm light skinned and idk how to describe it without comparing me to food like coffee with milk or something😭)and mid back curly hair. I wear black glasses. I'm also chubby but I lean more in the curvy side and stuff like most of my weight goes to my chest and thighs but i do have love handles(idk if this matters or not but oh well) and allegedly, aka my friends i have a big butt, but i don't believe that bc im still waiting on my 💯 natural no surgery or gym bbl😝(im a bit delusional but its ok). I'm pan or bi idk yet but I def like dudes and girls, and I'm a cis she/they. And I think something else I should mention is that I'm afro-latina, like both my parents are fully black and both are fully latino 1st generation, they were born in their country and raised there and are immigrants and stuff, I was born in the U.S. but I lived in the country for like all my life until middle school so I'm fluent in Spanish and stuff so yeah.

Personality: idk what to say I'm pretty boring IG. Like I am shy and quiet if I don't know you but like I become pretty weird and talkative and stuff so idk how to describe me. I have a bunch of interest but no real hobbies honestly. I read ff if that counts👍🏽. My personality just contradicts itself a lot so I could be mad and want to yell cry and scream but I also don't like confrontation and I become quiet and pissed and stuff as an example. I have bad social anxiety unless I'm with people I know but apart from that I try to go by un-noticed. I can be really blunt and mean to people but I also can be pretty sweet and try not to hurt people of that makes sense. But I will say I do tend to be very loving and affectionate when I'm with people I truly love, and allegedly I'm usually the mom of the group too so that's something I guess. Also sometimes I just hate people and everyone but that's when my social battery runs out so that's something else. And I can also be stubborn and tend to stick to my opinions but I will hear you out and try at least unless its like plain racism or something. So yeah my personality is pretty contradictory.

As I've mentioned before I don't have any hobbies or at least I don't think I do, again I'm pretty boring. I guess some fun facts is that I can cook and people say my cooking is good and I'm also not really emo or goth or grunge or dark academia or anything but like I love the styles and wanna dress like that and I do like the music I just can't get fully into it. But I like almost any music type unless it's country, unless it's like that one song called good looking that goes "hes bouncing on my booty cheeks I love the way he rides 😍" but 👍🏽. And idk if it matters but Johnny, dally, and curly are the mains I look for ff in but I love the rest of the characters and i simp for them too and idk if im married to angela and cherry yet.

12. Is there any unpopular are that you like but the fandom doesn't? Why?

Firstly, Dany 's Qarth arc, in ACOK. Unexpectedly, it was quite enjoyable. The worldbuilding was nice. I loved the versions in the undying and the prophecies from Quaithe. It's mainly part of the magical arc in the books which I am as fond of. Also baby dragons.

There were other arcs in the book that bored me (like Jon's) so I loved the nice change of pace and setting.

Secondly, not sure if it counts as unpopular but I rarely see the fandom talk about it so I am just gonna include it: the Queenmaker plot.

Oh dear, how much I love this one. It got little to do with the name and everything to do with Arianne & Doran 's relationship and how much I love it. They're both people who deeply love each other but their relationship is marred by misunderstandings and secrets (it's more of Doran 's fault although it was unintentional). It's so beautifully tragic. I couldn't possibly love it more.

The conversation they had in the tower is one of my favorite scenes in the books. I go and read it from time to time.

Like Rhaella living (too many dead mothers in these books) and raising Dany instead; Elia, Rhaenys and Aegon surviving somehow (they deserved better); Rhaella marrying Doran instead (gotta foot in crack ship agenda lol), Robert dying on the Trident, Lyanna lives and raises Jon, Aerys dying earlier, probably a lot less rape and tragedy in the books in general (I knew what I was getting myself into, I am still a big softie), etc.

Mance Ryder. For pretty much the same reasons. He had been working a long time to unite the wildlings and save them from the Others so the man got my respect.

Margaery Tyrell. She's quite interesting. We don't have any Tyrell pov and she have limited agency in the books. She had been married to three kings now. I wanna know more about her.

Rhaella Targaryen. She only exists in the narrative to serve as a tragedy and another casualty to Aerys 's cruelty and madness. My heart goes out for her.

Shaera Targaryen. Shaera is pretty much a blank state that I love writing lol. But I like her more bcoz of who she's treated by the fandom. She's another Queen and mother we hardly we know anything about. But if you see her in the fics, she usually gets to share the blame for Rhaella 's marriage even though we have in the text that it was Jaehaerys. I am tired of this fandom blaming the woman for the man's fault. It fucking never happens the other way around for obvious reasons. So pissed off me decided to like her.

Daario Naaharis. More of the show version tbh. He makes Dany happy so he gets points for that.

Doran Martell. Dear God, I love him so much. Hands down, he's my most favorite character in asoiaf after Dany. He's such a tragic figure. His mother died before RR, Elia and her children were murdered and got no justice while their murderers got rewarded, his relationship with Mellario soured, even with Arianne it wasn't a smooth sailing, Quentyn had to be fostered with Yronwoods, Oberyn and Quentyn also died; the guy doesn't seem to catch a break. (George pls, give him a break)

Yet so dutiful. He's one of the few rulers in asoiaf who cares about the smallfolk and he does cares so deeply.

He's also one of the few good fathers (not without his mistakes tho) in asoiaf. Good fathers are rare in asoiaf.

What's there to not love about this guy?

it just hit me sigrid that we might have a few months without the remakes tg! but then in the fall there might be six of them at the same time instead... lord help us all!

halla anon! yeah, that’s going to be nice isn’t it! and in the fall the spanish one starts and i’m excited for that cause i wanna try to use if for teaching purposes.

but tbh most of the remakes i don’t notice that much, cause i have them all blacklisted! which is recommended, hehe. right now i have way to much remake talk on here, and my inbox is full of it. and i know i’ve kinda invited this by answering asks and stuff, but i think i wanna try to just get all of these asks out of my inbox, so i’ll put the rest of remake related tags under the cut:

anon: what is it about marketing teams thinking it's better and gains viewers in going on hiatus without telling anyone when they'll be back? Austin seems to have done it aswell and the last episode have less than 500k after the weekend so this decline is jeeeeshh. I've almost seen everything but I honestly think it's boring, it doesn't have that spark, but I'm dying for bts budget knowledge. I also saw Italy changed a character trait so time for all the og shade again, Vilde has it the worst.

yeah, that seems very frustrating. if the hiatus of skam hadn’t had a definitive end, i wouldn’t have survived, especially not season 3. like i really thought i wouldn’t survive the night after the last ep5 five clip, and then the teaser dropped. counting down those days with everyone is what kept me sane lol. vilde hate based on the remakes makes me so sad though :(

anon: i'm not surprised at the white casting of sana after all we've heard italiens say while defending the decision. skam is about showing and helping teenagers but they cast 20+ actors so they can show explicit sex with the male gaze and multiple times calls the muslim character sana bin laden for giggles. instead of stepping their foot down and say it's wrong they say nothing. but when they'll have that theme as focus they'll have a whitewashed nonmuslim play the part. they copied most y not sana?

i’m not sure i’ve heard many of those arguments? i’ve seen some discussions about “white muslims exist too” and yeah, that is true, but sana wasn’t. and the character in skam italy isn’t supposed to be either?? and sana was the only poc in the girl squad to begin with, so i also think it wouldn’t be good to replace her with a white character. and all of this is going to really make a s4 remake pretty .. questionable imo.

and Wow do they actually say that??? i mean, i don’t have anything against characters being offensive if it actually serves a purpose, so hopefully it leads somewhere! and lol i thought they just looked old, but they’re all over 20? i know the guy who plays martino is only like 20 (or 19?) but to me he looks way older.
