One of my cat Olive's more frustrating qualities is that if I forget to keep tampons out of her reach I will find her in the bathroom very methodically ripping them out of their packaging one by one and pulling their fluff out with her teeth

#forgot to put them away in the bathroom cabinet last night #woke up this morning to a tampon massacre #her other favorite activity is breaking into people's purses and bags and stealing shit #and she has an uncanny knack for finding important things #I once found her running around my apartment with my debit card in her mouth when she was a kitten #I've since learned to keep things VERY securely locked away in my bag #but I do always have to warn visitors that my cat is an actual raccoon #even though the other 90% of the time when she's not shamelessly committing acts of vandalism and theft #she's the sweetest most wide eyed angelic creature in the world with the tiniest softest meow #you would never ever suspect her of any wrongdoing

The 'pushes buttons randomly' man on the radio is doing just that on this very wet Monday morning. Maybe the precipitation causes as much chaos for his coordination as it seems to for all the car drivers. The traffic lady's report consists of congestion and collisions. The usual man on the radio should be back tomorrow after the Eurovision extravaganza.

Another pretty plant rescued from the cut price shelf. Couldn't resist! Seed pods already forming, so looking forward to the flowers spreading across the garden. Also got a Salvia.

Other acquisition was a baby blanket. Another lost item that was left draped over a bollard. Lots of these adornments as you go through the shiny metropolis. They sit there for days. Most of the woolly hats I have were acquired in the same way. The baby blanket has been washed, dried and is now happily occupied by one of my dogs.

Flying jellyfish ... that's what I think about each time I look at these flowers. Remembering back to childhood days when we'd be on a family holiday ... swimming costumes and snorkels ... going out as far as I dared in the sea despite parental shouts ... gazing through the water at a world full of amazing aliens.

Long time since I've seen the sea.

Still ... the rain pours down, the water butt fills up and I can clutch my coffee and cast my mind back. I tilt my coffee cup as a toast to the photo bombing fly in the middle picture ... always fun to see photos afterwards ... concentration on one thing, and the unexpected waiting just around the corner ...

updating on the roly (cat) situation here too, saw her today and she was looking much livelier. her values are stabilizing but she's still low on a few and they haven't told me what the issue is yet. she's still hospitalized and probably will be tomorrow too

#they finally do the ecography tomorrow so they can confirm what the issue is and start treating her according to that #i miss her so much but im glad i got to see her even for a little bit #they're so shitty with the visitor hours. its only between 2pm and 3pm. girl im Working.#but yeah this is a big relief. she hasnt had diarrhea with blood / vomiting blood since yesterday night-today morning #god. this is costing me So Much. i hope whatever treatment is necessary won't be as expensive #nero habla

Charmed (1998) rewatch but only seasons 1-3 and then treating the season 4 premiere as an open-ended finale 🤷🏻‍♀️

#charmed #charmed 1998 #charmed wb #i remember what comes next all too well #honestly I am sorry to miss out on some of the phoebe/cole scenes of early s4 when they were still fun #but i don't think i can take the s4 plotlines again let alone the reminder of s5 looming #going back as an adult is fascinating though #1 - so much of the fashion is back in #season one especially #also wow preteen/early teen me was really oblivious to fashion though i did wind up thinking leather pants = cool from what i absorbed then #2 - i can absolutely see the change from the original showrunner and really wish i knew what constance m burge intended next #3 - the inconsistencies. the inconsistencies #not just the mythology they were making up on the fly #(how long are you a ghost v moving on to next life since past lives are a thing but also visitors from the afterlife etc etc)#but the timeline #how old was phoebe when victor left (thank god they recast victor absolute glow-up)#why did leo have a past life in the 20s when he should have been already growing up #cole refers to 'mornings waking up next to you' about his ADA apartment when it's very pointed that he & phoebe only hook up there once #4- fascinating how sex is treated in the early seasons v the latter #(it went over my head back in the day but) they very much make clear which boyfriends they're sleeping with v which they *aren't*#(i.e. they spell out that prue only sleeps with andy once & never with jack & that piper never sleeps with Josh etc)#5 - biggest mistake the reboot made was doing the half-sister storyline in episode 1 #it gave them no wiggle room when a sister DID leave the show but #more importantly you lose the original grew-up-together-push-each-others-buttons dynamic that is so good #not many siblings shows on that level (supernatural is the only comparison coming to mind)#6 - I'm so Team Cole still #talk about dropping the ball on character - his half-demon backstory motivated by saving his father's soul is great actually AND DROPPED #still about phoebe/cole but the prue and cole dynamic makes more sense knowing they were dating IRL #and shoehorning in paige out of the blue distrusting cole mid s4 as replacement for that dynamic just will never work for me #anyway as my sister is now my roommate in the old house we rent Charmed (early seasons) hits different and holds up better than i expected!

Trying to plan my evening when a doe rolls up on me outside.
