No I will not "look at the bright side" or "think positively" because I was born in a country where women don't have it as horrible as in other places. I didn't fucking choose to be born here, and they didn't choose to be born anywhere else.
If I were born in one of the 30 african and middle eastern countries where fgm is most concentrated according to the UN, my best scenario would be having my clitoris cut off without any kind of pain killer, with a razor blade that was never sterilized. They could also just decide to cut the whole thing off and then sew me shut, leaving a minuscule hole for my future "husband" to break through when he deems me worthy of his wrinkly, twice as old dick.
If I were born in Pakistan I could be one of the over 150 estimated women who get acid thrown at them annually, because their husbands (who I can assure you these women didn't marry by any real choice) threw a fucking tantrum over what they were wearing.
If I were born in America, where every 98 seconds someone is sexually assaulted, 91% of the victims being female, I could be one of the 1/3 of women who have experienced rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime according to the New York City National Organization for Women.
So with that said, I DON'T CARE THAT I HAVE IT LESS BAD, IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER
I didn't choose to be born in a country where I'm kind of viewed as an equal human being by most people despite the anatomy I didn't choose to have. Those 150 estimated pakistani women didn't fucking choose to have acid thrown at their faces. The women of america didn't choose the reality they live in right now.
I was lucky to be born in Sweden. I shouldn't have to consider being treated as a living, breathing human being as something lucky just because I have a fucking vagina.
Fuck the bright side and fuck your "optimism"

Why am I so swollen? What have you done to me? After everything, my body has gotten heavier, my feet has gotten swollen, breasts saggy, and my cunt feels so swollen. My thighs are thicker, and I have to waddle to move. My belly has lurched out and sloshes at my every shift or movement.
I can't bend over anymore, and when I squatted, my pants got wet and now I can't stop the aches of my belly and the grinding I feel in my hips. Why some object is wedging between the bones of my hips and thighs, and why I keep wanting to spread my legs and grunt down. What have you done to me?? Why does it hurt? And why do you keep watching me instead of helping me??
I haven't done anything to you, sweetheart-- it's just your body going through some natural changes. Don't you worry your pretty head about it.
Come here and lean against my chest, and we'll walk around a little. Let me hold you and stroke all of those awkward new curves. You can spread your knees a little further apart if it helps with the ache. Breathe, that's right. You have a cunt, and sometimes people with cunts just get a little swollen and sore. I can't expect you to understand why, you silly thing. Just know that I'm here for you, and I'll take care of you.
What's that? There's pressure in your pelvis?
You probably just ate something that upset your stomach. Just keep moving with me, and stop trying to bear down, else you'll embarrass yourself. You don't need to make a big deal out of nothing, my love.

also i gotta say. transmasc sonic has nothing to do with metal. sonic could be cis and transfem metal still works. sonic could be transfem and she works! sonic could transition before or after she does, doesnt matter, just means her revised justification for why she's better/more true/needs to kill sonic so bad is slightly different.

The way that the other players did not even have the decency to treat Mai with the respect that a duelist of her caliber deserves and just kept on comparing her to other duelists is disgusting of them. I'm very sure that if they battled Kaiba they would not talk about they wished they could have battled Yuugi or Jonouchi instead because they have won more battles than him.

Yes Mai, vent your anger in a healthy way that does not end up with anyone dead! Unlike other people that hold millennium items!

This is going to sound like dickriding, but I can't be the only Damijon shipper that doesn't have a vendetta against Nika.
The way some of y'all treat her, is utterly disgusting. Calling her names, being misogynistic towards her and hating her for fucking breathing, is generally weird. Maybe, it's cuz I'm not in this fandom long enough, but why do y'all genuinely hate her??? All she does is be a person that loves Damian.
Hating Nika isn't going to make Damijon less fanon. The girl did nothing, leave her the fuck alone. And I'm saying this, because I find it weird how mlm ships always treat the women love interests like shit. Fuck y'all, genuinely, just leave Nika's name out of y'all mouths.

Kitty helped so much people and made them happy but people call her ā€œtoo muchā€, selfish and unbearable.
She’s always doing things for others, to make them happy. Even when she’s doing something for herself, she’s actually doing it for her mother.
Being a girl is so hard. You do great, you’re too much. You do a mistake, you are unbearable. There’s no nuance, no pity. Just haters. I’m sick of it.
Being a teenager is messy and so confusing. Either you don’t know that or you forgot about it. But we all did stupid things as teenagers. And yet, she did nothing that bad. She let her emotions take over herself after an emotional moment for her, seeking for comfort. We do stupid things when we’re sad, angry or stressed. But that doesn’t make her a bad person, at all.
I’m going to list everything she did for the people she cares about and you’re going to scroll and scroll cause I won’t put a ā€œread moreā€
She helped her sister find love cause she saw her sister being alone and sad after their older sister left for college. She was 11 then, so she was a child and chose to send all the letters because she wanted her sister to be happy.
She helped her father find love again by sending a letter made by her to the woman her father likes. She was 11 or 12 then and she wanted her father to be happy with someone after spending so much time heartbroken by grief.
When she met Q, she noticed his crush for a guy and played matchmaker with him. She helped him organise a date. Yeah, that love didn’t last but this was not on her. She wanted Q to be happy with someone he liked even if she didn’t know him that much then.
On Chuseok, she send her mom necklace to his ex even if she thought he betrayed her then just because she wanted him to know that she’ll be always there for him in a moment that she knows it’s a difficult time to live after a passing.
Also on Chuseok, she helped Minho with his date with his pop star. She wanted to help him after she made him eat her mashed potatoes that he was intolerant to.
She also helped two random couples to get together. Once in an hospital and the other at Minho’s party. Who knows what happened with them. They maybe found the love of their life thanks to her.
At the camping trip, she helped Yuri contact her girlfriend despite her growing feelings and the lies she was told.
She convinced Alex to stay in Korea and meet her sister when he was thinking about giving up. She helped to reunite a family together with the baby bracelet her mother kept.
She gave back her mom necklace to Dae.
She was nice and helpful with Stella when she wanted to date one of her friends. She didn’t know Stella has bad intentions then. This was not on her either.
She helped Yuri to reconnect with her mom after a fight. She knew exactly what she needed. She just wanted Yuri to feel better and have a better relationship with her mother.
She caused a distraction at the track field when she noticed Q was late. She was ready to make a fool of herself just so her best friend can make it on time. She also gave him a good idea when Q was worried about how cheer is boyfriend up.
She noticed Stella’s behaviour and started investigate. And even if people didn’t believe her, she still believe in her instincts and find the truth about her roommate.
She then saved Dae with his performance when Stella tried to ruin it. And she saved Minho’s family from Stella’s blackmail.
She reunited her grand-aunt and her grandmother together, because she wanted to realise her mother wish.
Kitty did a lot of things to help her family, her friends and the people she cares about.
People always focus on the mistakes and never on the good deeds.
She obviously had flaws. She's stubborn and messy, she lets her emotions get the better of her, she oversteps boundaries, she doesn't take enough time to think things through.
But she also has great qualities. She has a heart of gold. She is self-confident, determined and courageous. She's always ready to help others. She’s protective with the people she cares about.
Kitty Song Covey does not deserve any hate. She’s a teenager, discovering herself for the first time like any other teenager. She does her best with the big heart she has. She’s a good person and no one can make me think otherwise.
I think people who hate on her are not a Xo Kitty fan at all. Cause why are you even watching this show if you don’t like her? ā€œIt’s all about her.ā€ Duh, it’s her show. I heard this everywhere for the main characters. The show has her name for a reason.
No one, absolutely no one in the entire world is perfect. Kitty is not perfect and will never be. She did mistakes and she always will. But she also did so much good to people and she always will.
Life is supposed to be a long, long learning. Everyone do their best with what they had.
People are not bad because they’re too loud, too talkative or too joyful.
There's a difference between being a hateful person out of sheer spite and a teenager who's finding herself, making mistakes and growing up.
There’s not reason at all to hate on her that much.
This fandom treat Kitty so bad. I don’t even know why they watch this show.

I really am mourning the lack of a fem protag for persona 5
Like, I honestly think Persona 4 was okay without one. Obviously it would have been great, but Chie was such a strong female presence that she really carried it on her back. I really think she's the series model for the close female companion role in these games (Like Ann or Yukari). So she really quenches my need for a super leading femme. (I will ABSOLUTELY elaborate in another post.)
But in P5? Yeah not enough. I get that it is so much more work and occupies an extreme amount of time and labor to edit the storyline to align with a polar opposite genderbend character, but its not FAIR. Its truly undermined how "for the girls" P5 is.
With all the weird slightly misogynistic messaging that is present in the persona games, and even just japanese media (especially that of which is popularized in america), a good series that people want to stick to HINGES on strong female storylines and characters, ones that highlight strength and don't downplay and belittle the girls that suffer for it, because if you're gonna be kinda sexist, you need to make up for it and depict it as societal critism as opposed to glorified behaviours.
For instance, in P3, there's a scene where Junpei insists on picking up girls at the beach. He basically forces Akihiko, and if you're Makoto, he forces you too. The three of you get fucking WRECKED the entire time. Two of the girls snap at you to leave them alone, and when Junpei keeps engaging, one of them plays into it a bit out of pity. Her friend gets on her ass for being too nice, and tells her to proceed with ignoring them. You get shut down again and again, and the game just knocks down Junpei's pervy behavior REPEATEDLY.
As the Female protag, the entire game, you have the option to join Yukari in getting on Junpei's ass everytime he says something gross. As the only two outgoing girls who are willing to rebuke his shitty behavior, you are able to defend Fuuka time and time again when she gets uncomfortable. But as the male protag, while you can occasionally rebuke his pervy BS, Yukari takes the brunt of the job, because the only way you can consistently turn his shit down is by expressing indifference. Its made apparently clear that they need help keeping him under control.
Now think about whenever something weird happens to Ann. Mona spends the entire game falling over his own ass for her, Yusuke creeps her the fuck out and she's left alone to commence the mission by offering to be his nude model (it ends up being that he has zero interest in her and just thinks she'd be a good model, but still), and more. Akira defends her occasionally. But you cannot in confidence tell me that if there was a polar opposite femme joker, she wouldn't have shut that shit down the way Kotone does to Junpei. Yuka and Ann need the extra help because its really just them ultimately.
(Chie will sooner beat the shit out of yosuke to defend the girls around them, and therefore needs the help less)
And thats not even just it. Even if they didn't need the help. With all of these fierce female backstories-
(Yukari grappling with guilt because of her dad, Ann's SA trauma, Futaba's survivors guilt, Fuuka's parental pressure and path to being a burnt out gifted kid, etc)
-where they never stop overcoming their past for the betterment of everyone else, they need a strong support system. You can feel the difference in energy when Kotone is leading the team, putting herself aside to boost up the girls and showing the guys who's boss. It's written to show how that benefits the other girls. Think about how much more EMPOWERED Ann, Sumire, Makoto, and Futaba would be if they had a femme joker to lead and support them. And how many more wholesome interactions. I mean Futaba should totally have a really good female role model. And so should Sumire on that note.
It just feels like where they tried to give Joker at least a few moments of supporting the girls, it didn't hit the same as it would if he had a femC counterpart.
Let's do better.

Misogynism - Poetry
Tumblr media
In shadows deep where silence screams A world unfolds of shattered dreams Where voices stifled hearts confined In chains of bias souls maligned Knowledge grows and hearts resist Against the tide of misogynists ~~~ Beneath the weight of ancient lore A gender fights forevermore For every whimper for every plea A cry for justice to just be free Knowledge grows and hearts resist Against the tide of misogynists ~~~ In every glance that casts disdain In every word that fuels the pain We’ll stand together feet in stride Holding hands with heads held high Knowledge grows and hearts resist Against the tide of misogynists ~~~ Yet through the darkness hope does gleam In every heart a fervent dream To break the chains to rise above In unity in strength and wrapped in love Knowledge grows and hearts resist Against the tide of misogynists ~~~ For every woman for every girl Deserves the right to shape the world To stand as equals side by side With dignity boundaries and boundless pride Knowledge grows and hearts resist Against the tide of misogynists ~~~ So let us fight let voices soar For those who came for those before In solidarity we fight to find A future bright for all mankind Knowledge grows and hearts resist Against the tide of misogynists

Long post ahead, but a very important one.
Something that has bothered me a lot until now, and I haven't been able to explain why, is when I'm talking about the injustices that women and female people face, and I'm told that I'm overreacting, or that I have no reason to be upset because "women have it okay here/women have rights here".
I haven't been able to put this into words for the longest time, until I came across a post on my pinterest feed that explained it perfectly.
This statement upsets me, because you would never have to say it about men. You can only argue that a woman, or person of the female sex should be satisfied because they happen to "have basic human rights" in their own country. The only reason you can make this argument is because of the fact that this isn't true everywhere. Yeah sure I could get an abortion in my country, I can wear what I want, I can get a job, I can go to school, but the fact that these things are used to argue that I should be satisfied with the way things are is the problem. These things should be a birthright to every woman and female person. But they're not. In some countries women (I will be saying women from now on to simplify things, but I am also talking about people of the female sex who don't identify as women) can't get an abortion without risking prison or even the death penalty, in some countries women can't get jobs or go to school, in some countries women are legally forced to cover their bodies from head to toe, and in other countries they are forced not to. In some countries, women get acid thrown at them when they disobey their husbands by doing as little as wearing clothes he doesn't like.
According to the UN, "An estimatedĀ An estimatedĀ 736 million women—almost one in three— have been subjected to physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both at least once in their life (30 per cent of women aged 15 and older)."Ā ***"This figure does not include sexual harassment."*** (which I and other women in my own country, and other countries that are "better for women" face on a regular basis, but this is never acknowledged).
Based on the femicide statistics from 2023, 140 women or girls are killed every day by someone in their own family. 60% of all female homicides are committed by intimate partners or other family members. For men, this is only 12%.
By the time girls reach 19, almost 1 in 4, or 24% who have been in a relationship "have already been physically, sexually, or psychologically abused by a partner."
During crises or catastrophes, the rate of violence against women increases significantly.
Hurricane Katrina (2005): the rape rate increased 6 times the baseline rate in Mississippi for that year.
Canterbury earthquake, New Zealand: 53% rise in domestic violence.
"In Ethiopia there was anĀ increase in girls sold into early marriageĀ in exchange for livestock to help families cope with the impacts of prolonged droughts."
Nepal, after 2015 earthquake: an increase in the trafficking of women and girls "from an estimated 3,000-5,000 annually in 1990 to 12,000-20,000 per year". The first statistic is already abhorrent, the increase even more so.
My source for the quoted and paraphrased information: UN WOMEN
I did not bring up everything on the page, since that would make an entirely too long post for anyone to want to read. I encourage you to look at these statistics when you have the time to spare, it's so incredibly important that this is brought to light.
I refuse to be told that I'm overreacting about the treatment of women when they are actively sold as livestock after catastrophes.
All of this doesn't even mention how anti-female body capitalism is at it's core. From early childhood, girls are taught to look cute in dresses, skirts, and shorts that are several inches shorter than their boy-marketed counterparts. We're taught to cover up because we're distracting, as if our bodies are on display for the men and boys around us, and in the same breath, we're taught that a woman who covers up is boring, and a prude. We're taught to wear makeup by famous influencers, makeup adverts on TV, our phones, on billboards, you name it, because a product with imperfections won't sell. We're taught to shave all of our body hair off, and told that it's because it's unhygienic, which is a poor excuse for controlling women's bodies down to the very hairs. If we don't wear make-up, we're assumed to be doing bad mentally, or asked if we're feeling sick, because a woman can't possibly have acne, or dark circles, or eyebags, or wrinkles, or pores, or facial hair (men and male people aren't alone in that regard ffs, they just get increased facial hair as a secondary sex characteristic, just like their larger adam's apple and darker voice, and women's and female peoples' breasts)
I am so tired of feeling this fundamental, unescapable shame every time I wear sleeveless dresses or tops without shaving first. I am tired of feeling ashamed of myself for wearing short skirts and crop tops, and I'm tired of feeling too boring when I'm not. I'm tired of getting catcalled and approached by men and boys of every age no matter which way I dress, and I'm tired of it being blamed on my clothing the times I do dress in skirts and crop tops. My own father told me that I can't complain because I dress revealingly. What about the times I wore cargo pants, a binder and a baggy T-shirt? What about the women in burqas and niqaabs who get the same treatment, if not worse? What about the little girls in pigtails and my little pony shirts, or the toddlers in diapers? What about the women who carry hairspray in their bags because pepper spray is illegal? What about the women who were drunk, sober, drugged, unconscious, awake, kidnapped, in their own homes? What about the countless women who deny ever being raped by their husbands, but who admit to him being "forceful" sometimes when he doesn't get what he wants?
The fact that I'm not being sex-trafficked or stoned out in the street means jack shit when there are countless women who are. I don't give a fuck that it's not affecting me directly, because I have basic human empathy and I care about the women who it is affecting, because all of these numbers should be zero for fucks sake.
Yeah it's been worse in some places, yeah I can vote, but this should be true for every single woman out there. Women should not be dictated by their men, whether they be husbands, fathers, or leaders. Girls should not be told that they're "becoming women" when they get their first periods at ages as young as 9 or 10. Girls should be children, not worrying about how much sex will hurt, and how they will have to get pregnant and have children as if they're incubators.
Don't even get me started on the man (doctor or professor, I'm unsure) who suggested that brain dead women's bodies should be kept alive so that their uteruses can be used to create children. Yes there was some backlash, but the fact that some people agree is unbelievable to me. The fact that this idea was even concieved in the first place, let alone expressed, let alone suggested as an actual plan.
"You have it fine in your country". "Women are treated as equals here"
Fuck that. Fuck no. Women are treated as equals nowhere. Show me a man who feels the need to cover his face with makeup, eliminate his pores with silicone-filled creams to go under his foundation, use countless retinol creams and laser treatments to prevent wrinkles, stop smiling because it causes smile lines, use special straws because regular ones give you wrinkles, go on harmful diets to "get the perfect beach body", which in reality is just a corpse with D-cups and an ass. Show me a little boy raised the same way girls are raised who's parents won't be labelled as groomers or pedophiles. Show me a lesbian or bi woman who isn't accused of lying for attention, as if one can't possibly be attracted to women.
This entire post doesn't even portray a fraction of the rage I feel regarding this topic, or even a fraction of the many abhorrent ways women and female people are treated. Call me a "blue-haired feminazi" all you want, but I believe that women are people, not products, and should be treated as such.
And if I see someone responding with "but what about this thing that happens to men!", or "men are abused too!" I just want to say:
I KNOW! I am well aware that your life isn't perfect just because you're a man or born male, but that's not what this post is about. I will gladly support you and discuss the issues that men face if you bring it up outside of when you're trying to debunk, or bring attention away from women's issues. If you only care about men's issues when women's issues are brought up, I don't believe that you really want to solve any of those issues. You just don't want us to talk about the systemic oppression of women. Why don't you reach out to the people around you to talk about these things? Why don't you advocate for men's mental health without using it as an argument against women's suffering? These things can co-exist.
Rant over, Bug out
To the people who read all of this, I hope you have a good day, and I care about you. You are wonderful just as you are, and I would hug you if I could.
