missing the maribelle/tharja family unit today. i think maribelle would be elated to have a daughter. she meets noire for the first time and she goes “do you play chess? violin? ride? drink tea?” and noire goes “no but im really good at throwing up in a bucket” and maribelles like “oh!!!! okay!!!!” i think she finds noire’s talisman persona charming. chrom is like “um maribelle can you please go get your daughter… she’s terrorizing the camp” and she goes “shes harmless! why do you hate women?” and he never speaks on it again. i think tharja needs a kid that will beef with her and i think brady is 100% the guy to do it. i think she looks at him and goes “what is your problem” and he flips her off. she tries to curse him but he spins his staff ninja style deflecting them back at her. he serves tea to his moms but he spits in tharjas and she knows it. and then she drinks it because it pisses him off. brady could come to love her at some point but it will not be easy and it will not come without a lot of work and a lot of arguing and i think i need some more parent/child conflict in this game. awakening gets one f bomb and its hidden in the random tharja brady PC support where he just goes “FUCK YOU” Tharja and Brady attained support level B.

Leshy being the easiest to adapt to the cult makes so much sense when you remember the lamb would have the least beef with him cause Leshy doesn't cast any plagues and reigned over chaos and order.

Plus the cult is far from "ordered" even on the best runs. Leshy would thrive causing havoc.

I think the legend of zelda: tears of the kingdom should have played out like:

U get the ganondorf cutscene, the mastersword breaks, link looses his arm.

The ground rumbles and breaks, earth starts rising - but only link falls off the chunk. Zelda reaches for him, their hands just miss and Link disappears into the darkness below.

Now, Zelda does not inexplicably timetravel into the past.

Instead she wakes up on a sky island as a playable character.

She meets Rauru's ghost and with his help, plus help from some constructs, she manages to repurpose the sheikah slate to have basically the same abilities as the zonai arm in totk.

At some point during this, maybe after a particularly harrowing temple or something, I dont know, we find a campfire. Rauru's sat there, like, meditating or smth, and tells zelda to take a break and wait, since that is really the best option they right now - wait for a rito to fly high enough that they see zelda. Or something, idk, point is we need a reason for zelda to chill at a campfire.

Because this introduces the switching mechanic - aka, not only can u forward time at a campfire, but u can also change perspectives. In this case, to Link.

Link who is just. Not having a good time lol.

He wakes up in the depths, alone, no weapons, the malice eating his arm draining away the lives that players painstakingly built up in breath of the wild.

Everythkng's dark. Monsters are seemingly everywhere, pools of malice are threatening to kill you even faster than your broken arm already does.

All you have for a glimmer of hope is faint turquoise light somewhere ahead. So that's where ur heading.

This is where u find rauru's arm, fallen with some other debris, around a non-actjve light root.

Link somehow manages to attach the arm to the one still eaten by malice - idk maybe u pick up the arm, there's a fade to black, and when it returns it's to link bending his new and improved blue-glowing fingers experimentally.

You activate the lightroot and it restores some of ur hearts, but not the entirety of what u once had - a symptom of the malice-eating arm, or smth, surely.

And now u have two different story lines going at once - zelda tryjng to find link/figure out what's going on/stop ganondorf by exploring the sky islands, maybe having access to hyrule below with the help of some rito that u can find scattered across the sky islands. Maybe there's even a skysard sword-type skybird element there, where u get to steer the rito or smth, idk.

Meanwhile in the depths u have link, building up a shelter/hq/base with people that somehow fell into the chasms as they opened up, nobody quite able to reach the top again - not even the few rito that fell down. They just can't make it through the thick miasma of malice hanging above everything like storm clouds.

And, of course, link is also trying to get back to zelda/figure out what's going on/stop ganondorf.

Like idk, i feel like going with an approach like this would have made totk feel less like just a re-packaged botw with some DLC content, you know?

I have so many thoughts about Tech and how fun he is and how he’s clearly one of those “neurodivergent coded genius” type characters, it’s not done is a tasteless way and how his quirks are embraced and uplifted and not made fun of by the rest of the batch.

He’s not mean which is like a big thing for me. With so many of these characters it’s always equating being smart with being really mean, and while Tech is sarcastic and brags about his intellect, it never feels mean spirited and all the bad batch brags about their abilities. They all act like #not like the other girls. He knows his strengths just like the rest of the batch knows theres. They don’t call Tech “an unfeeling dick” for being super smart, he’s super smart and they love him for it. They don’t care that he brags about it cus yea Tech you are super smart we need you to hack into all of these droids and raise hell!!!!

And there is this running gag with Tech that I love where something will get brought up and everyone will turn to tech like “hey why didn’t you mention this really important thing before???” and he’s is like “ah well it was kinda obvious to me, my bad”. He’s not aware what he’s picked up on and what the others haven’t, and so he forgets to mention things and that’s so important to me. And the fact that the other characters know this about him and accept it as a part of him is just ahhhhhh so good. 

I also love how it’s usually Tech getting into childish arguments with other characters. Some of the best sibling interactions comes from Tech bouncing off other characters, and while it’s sibling bickering, it’s usually over small silly things and it really humanizes him that I feel like is missing in so many of the other characters in the trope he stems from.

Over all I love how much the Bad Batch love each other and embrace each other’s strengths. They feel so much like a believable family and it’s so great to see an interesting spin on a “genius type” character that doesn’t feel tasteless.

My disaster Tav team! From left to right:

Mordred: Banished noble, escaped imprisonment after being caught performing necromancy. Entitled and egotistical.

Malice: Terrifyingly sadistic Dark-Urge, loves to make men beg.

Mallory: Evil little shit, mischievous and cruel. Has unresolved trauma that's left him emotionally stunted.

Rosewood: Silly little bard who's with The Wrong People and is scared for his life every damn day. Adds much needed levity to the squad.

Mallory loves to annoy everyone, though he picks on Rosewood most. He steers clear of Malice, but every now and again he will pull tricks on Mordred and luckily escape some near-death retaliation.

Malice scares everyone and Rosewood is the worst at hiding it. Every conversation is awkward, pressured speech, and hasty exits. She finds it cute so she lets him live. Mordred also fears her, however he hates that and constantly challenges her in order to assert some kind of authority. They hate each other and are both vying to be the self-appointed leader of the group. You wouldn't guess it but they fuck on the regular.

Mordred would've killed Rosewood on sight had he not recognised him. As a well-read noble, Mordred is more than aware of Rosewoods literary work and is actually quite a fan. Funnily enough, Rosewood is a prolific children's author, writing stories of heroes and princesses. These were the books Mordred grew up on and still loves to this day. Speaking to Rosewood is about the only time anyone really sees Mordred brighten up, he's like an excitable child when talking of his favourite childhood stories. That is until he remembers himself and returns to his cool facade.

Rosewood likes Mordred but keeps a healthy amount of fear of him, as he should. He once pondered aloud about having his most famous series end in the heroes tragic demise... Mordred only had to give him a murderous look before Rosewood decided it was in his best interest to make it a happy ending instead.
