I just want to talk about how much I love the “It’s not what you think it is” marketing for the Barbie movie.

Because, in every seriousness, the Barbie movie is something that has to be experienced. Preparation removes that level of experience, the visceral nature of the unexpected, the rawness of being confronted by the messages the movie has in the ways it tells them.

Like, I completely refuse to even do my oblique “makes sense in context” quips about spoilers, because I genuinely want everyone to watch it and have the experience.

That being said….

I’d love to see if anyone who has seen the movie is able to identify exactly what these three “Only way I’m willing to describe them” moments are:

The line that had the entire theatre laughing for a full minute, because yeah, you’re right, thank you for admitting that.

The line that murders everyone with zero remorse.

The entire *vague helpless jazz hands of speechlessness* that just, thank you for having the guts to just run with that once my brain recovered my life is so much better.

As a borderlands enjoyer I can say I'm so so happy they took the "colorful cartoonish crass violence with unique and bold character designs" game series and made it photorealistic + gave it bland generic soldier protagonists. I know disappearing for months on end here is abt normal for this account ( checks last post that was two years ago ) but I'm currently working on my passion project webcomic: Naoko Against the Multiverse!

I even made a trailer! And a Rarebit powered home page for future pages! And a Discord! You can put your eyeballs on all three of these things if you're interested in any way about a webcomic about a transgender plural woman overcoming multiversal variants of herself while balancing work and family ( can you tell it's inspired by eeaao? )

I love the hc that wash and maine knew each other prior to pfl for multiple reasons, but one of those reasons is that I love imagining the freelancers being completely baffled over big, hulking maine, who hasn't spoken more than a sentence to any of them who they've watched put other freelancers through walls for touching him get playfully slapped on the back by this random guy from the team below them, only for maine to NOT hurt said random guy but also RECIPROCATE said playful slap on the back?????

they then proceed to watch this guy have an entire conversation with him without maine saying a single word, and then when the guy leaves and maine joins the group again they're like "uh, who the hell was that??" all maine replies with is "friend".

MAINE??? A FRIEND??????
