If you're ever uncreative about how to wish someone the worst possible things, here's a way to be a better hater. Really, "may your makeup be the potter's lump of clay" is a level of petty we left behind as a society

true suffering is working on outlining a fic and having a sudden flash of inspiration for something that is incredibly mean for the readers but works perfectly in the plot and then you realize that you can't just tell someone about your incredible idea with no context, you've got to actually write the whole damn fic for that one part to have any emotional impact.
anyways earlier today I had to scramble out of the shower to grab my phone and make a note (i have ADHD so speed is of the essence when it comes to recording these ideas), and the only thing that note said was, and i quote, "im killing that fucking horse". don't worry about what the fic is, or what fandom its for. just know that of my many WIPs, in at least one of them. i'm killing that fucking horse.
#other features of that specific fic:#restorative justice. a bisexual awakening. accidental patricide. anachronistic duct tape. intentional patricide.#four disfiguring facial scars. two missing limbs. one extremely cursed eyeball. a sweet-ass tattoo.#and an absurd variety of musical instruments#good luck figuring out what the fuck that's all about#not joking about a whole lot of musical instruments btw#at one point there will be a jam session of a lute. a lyre. a sitar. a shamisen. and a kantele#and that ensemble is still excluding several of the stringed instruments

Next Five Fic Recs:
Okay, I'm switching it up from 'fics I've read today' to 'next five fic recs', because I'm definitely not doing this everyday. I'll post one of these things everytime I've got five fics read and ready to recommend!
Dead Boy Detectives:
what the water gave me by @lesamis (lyres); a post-season 1 Niko-centric but ensemble fic about what might come next for the group if Niko lives - as a selkie. Absolutely stunningly written first chapter that really feels lived-in and whole, like a continuation of the series. [T, No Archive Warnings Apply]
intervals by Ingi; a pre-canon through post-canon look at the way (and how) Charles and Edwin express their love for each other. Fantastically written with a real grasp on character voices and little details sprinkled throughout. [T, No Archive Warnings Apply]
dye it all, rosary by @babyseraphim; a pre-canon through post-canon look at the trauma Edwin has from Hell, and how it affects his relationship with Charles. A wonderful exploration of Hell and its effects on Edwin. [M, Graphic Depictions of Violence]
Avengers/Leverage:
Finished chapters 6-10 of The Avengers Job by @needmorefiction (RemingtonFae), which continues to be a delightful look at an interaction between the Leverage and Avengers teams. [Not Rated, Creator Chose not to Use Archive Warnings]
Ted Lasso:
number four was always you by thefaceofno; a post-canon Ted Lasso fic that takes a look at Ted's mental health after returning to Kansas. I've only read the first two chapters so far, but it's delightful to read and beautifully written. [T, No Archive Warnings Apply]

Poem: this is love to me?
I am left paralysed, by bubbles?, tingles?; an emotional ensemble of elation!?, For you. You. This wave, it washes into my mouth and lungs, to silence my words, my capacity, my thought; For anything else but a moment shared with you. You. I can not choke nor cling, I feel not fret nor fire; I swear to sigh or sing, I loose to love or lyre. He is the sheet music my brain plays to soothe– He is the mundane whimsy in gobstopper dressed banal– They are both, and all others, potential incarnate, We are melded souls where shared webbing echo. Echo jubilancy, camaraderie, sanctuary, and All– All that is restricted by the bleakness of constructs; We can conceive All in our shared experience, To breath once again– to be a child again. To Be. Free

So I had the idea of a Mario and Luigi game called Musical Mayhem. Where they’re sought out to help a Music Kingdom who’s never needed a leader, beat a bad guy who’s taken over the place. But things work differently there and their usual skills won’t do the job alone. They need to learn to fight fire with fire, aka music. There are different parts to the kingdom based off different types of instruments and the bros have got to master each one.
For strings Mario gets a guitar, and our boy Luigi I’m thinking gets a violin. For percussion maybe a snare drum for Mario and a tambourine for Luigi. For winds, saxophone for Mario (it only feels natural) and clarinet for Luigi. Finally for synth, electric guitar for Mario and Keytar for Luigi.
Thoughts? I mean which of the instruments I’ve selected work for Lou the most? I think he’d look cute playing anyone of them. But you?
Bro bro BRO the musical nerd in me is gonna go INSANE FOR THIS
STRINGS
Mario - Bass Cello (i see him as a jazzy fella)
Luigi - Ukulele (soft and cute)
Winds
Mario - Flute (Consider how much flute you hear in almost all of the Mario games, or something like it)
Luigi - Clarinet (I FREAKING AGREE. Luigi's Mansion has clarinets all over the place for him, same with the film during his flashback moment. It just fits him too perfectly)
Percussion
Mario - Steel Drum (enough said)
Luigi - Vibraphone (it also pairs with a clarinet nicely. Also....Dimentio lol)
Misc. Instruments
Mario - Saxophone, acoustic guitar, accordion, maracas
Luigi - hand pan, kalimba, lyre, dulcimer, toy piano
Mario is kinda hard for me, but LUIGI, OH MAN, the entire woodwind ensemble fits him tbh

𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 —
written for 𝐛𝐚𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐣𝐢𝐧 ( @lgcsoji ) ♡
He waits...
Hanbin waits by the garden gates, heart pounding. The weight of his risky plan pressing down on him. Hanbin knows the odds are very slim, yet he clings to this fleeting hope—a chance to bridge worlds with love.
Sojin, son of the powerful general, has been promised to another in an arranged marriage. Harboring a secret love is getting harder and harder for Hanbin to stomach. Their love is so forbidden, and the consequences of discovery would be so dire, he’s desperate for a way out. Hanbin is determined to find a way for them to be together.
No matter, he stands tall. His posture resolute. He wore his usual attire of a long, light blue kimono that cascades over his shoulders like the gentle waves of his home sea. The garment is adorned with the small emblem of a three-headed dragon on the back, a symbol of his family's honor. A pair of grey pants peeks out from beneath the kimono, and a red sash wraps firmly around his waist, holding the ensemble together. The kimono hangs loosely on his shoulder and if he moves too much, the fabric parts to reveal his bare chest.
In one hand, he clutches his lyre, its strings cool against his palm. And the other he holds the vial containing a love potion. His fingers twitch, eager to move or play a melody that might express the words his lips cannot—words of love, of longing, of fear.
He listens intently, every sense heightened, every muscle tensed. The night is quiet, too quiet, and Hanbin knows that this silence could be the prelude to either their grand escape or their doom…

hii this is like an hour late but shhh i just found your account so ye i got questions if you wanna answer them
what animes do you watch/like? (besides trigun lol) any all time favourites or underrated shows?
what sort of music do you listen to?
when was the last time you had food from a food truck?
do you wear socks when you sleep? (this is an endless topic of debate between my friends)
favourite anime characters?
which do you like more: pink or purple (you have free reign over the shades)
least favourite colour?
if you've ever travelled out of country, how many countries have you been to?
if you could be isekai'd into any fictional world, which one would you like to be in?
thank you for sending me questions! i had a weird day so i'm deep in the sillyzone
Anime: I absolutely adore Revolutionary Girl Utena. Holy shit. If you're at all into the parts of trigun that are a survivor narrative I'd recommend this, (I also just recommend it in general) but look up the content warnings because they're not fucking around. Some of the most tremendous catharsis and hands down the best writing of trauma, abuse, and the queer experience I've ever seen. I also like Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Princess Mononoke. TBH I haven't watched a lot of anime recently.
Music: oh god my music taste is all over the place. No seriously. I listen to classic rock bc that's what I was raised on, and classical/orchestral bc i was in orchestra for (checks calendar) oh fuck ten years. I like...idk folk rock? Like the Crane Wives? But also Janelle Monae? And lately I've needed to deep fry my brain to electronica, and I like this one group called "The Lyre Ensemble" who recreated ancient Sumerian hymns, they're pretty cool. Also "Tinariwen", check them out. Punk?? Shit with drums? Have you heard of "Afro Celt Sound System"? "Rodrigo y Gabriela"? IDK keep asking me and I can be more in depth
Food truck: oh it's been way too long. I think it was last year. Not as many food trucks around me as I'd like, but lots of kickass stripmall food.
Socks: i didnt used to, bc I get very hot when I sleep, but i got metal in my leg and the laws of thermodynamics very much apply, so i need to keep my ankle insulated or it hurts like hell
fav anime characters: apart from the trigun characters i post about constantly? uhhhh utena tenjou, edward elric, winry rockbell, Nausicaa, Ayanami Rei (telling on myself here)
Pink or purple: it's hard to find a good purple, so i end up wearing/using more pink, but i think i have to go with a deep, rich purple. not reddish
least favorite color: is "greige" cheating? i think it depends on the context, but i don't like salmon or mustard mostly bc i can't wear them without looking like a corpse
traveling: not including the US, I've been to 14 countries. done a lot of moving
isekai'd: aauoouaoua ok i think about worldbuilding and the day to day living a lot, and i read a lot of stuff with broken as shit worlds, so most would suck and I'd die immediately. Maybe Land of the Lustrous? It's so far in the future, I'd love to see how things have changed and evolved, and I think I'd like to talk to the gems.
Thank youuuu this was fun! Sillies

Types of String Musical Instruments
String instruments have knitted their musical magic throughout human history. It travels from cultures and generations. From the ancient lyres of Mesopotamia to the sophisticated violins of the Baroque era, these instruments have been integral to the evolution of music.
This blog will take you through the rich canvas of string. It will also remind you about how crucial it is to buy a dedicated string instrument insurance plan to protect your gear, irrespective of its type or family. Let's read on!
Meet the Members of the String Family
Plucked String Instruments: As the name suggests, the plucked string instruments make a sound when you pluck or strum their strings. Some of the best examples include the guitar, banjo, harp, and sitar.
Guitar: It is a versatile instrument that has a long neck and comes with typically six strings, although variations do exist. It is central to diverse musical genres, including rock, jazz, blues, and classical.
Banjo: With its roots of origin in Africa and adopted in the Americas, the banjo features a circular body and four to six strings. It is a prominent part of folk, bluegrass, and country music.
Harp: Characterized by its vertical frame and strings, it is one of the oldest string instruments. You would hear it in classical, folk, and Celtic music traditions.
Sitar: It is a plucked string instrument from India. It has a gourd-shaped body and movable frets. It plays a vital role in Indian classical music, with its intricate melodies and rhythmic patterns.
No matter which type of plucked string you play or own, make sure to secure it with the right insurance policy dedicated to musical instruments.
Bowed string instruments
Bowed string instruments produce sound when you vibrate their strings with a bow. The instruments that fall under this category are:
Violin: With its four strings and high-pitched sound, the violin is a cornerstone of classical orchestras. It also features prominently in various genres, including folk, jazz, and popular music.
Viola: Slightly bigger than the violin and tuned lower, the viola adds depth and richness to ensemble performances. It plays an essential role in classical chamber music and orchestras.
Cello: Also known as the violoncello, the cello has a deep, resonant tone. It is integral to orchestral arrangements, chamber music, and solo performances.
Double Bass: It is the largest and lowest-pitched instrument in the string family. It makes the base of the sound of bands. It is indispensable in classical, jazz, and contemporary music genres.
Fretted String Instruments
Fretted string instruments feature frets. The latter are metal strips implanted along the neck to mark specific musical intervals. Examples include the following:
Bass Guitar: Similar in appearance to the guitar but with a longer neck and fewer strings, the bass guitar produces lower frequencies and serves as the rhythmic backbone in many musical ensembles.
Ukulele: A small, four-stringed instrument with roots in Hawaii, the ukulele exudes a cheerful, bright sound. It is popular in folk, pop, and Hawaiian music styles.
Zither Family
Zithers are string instruments featuring a flat body with strings stretched across it. They are played by plucking or strumming the strings.
Autoharp: Equipped with buttons or keys that dampen specific strings, the autoharp enables players to create chords effortlessly. You can see them being used in folk and country music.
Appalachian Dulcimer: Originating from the Appalachian region of the United States, the dulcimer has a long, narrow body and fretted fingerboard. Musicians cherish it for its sweet, melodic tones.
Now that you are well aware of the broadness of string instruments, probably, you have also understood how delicate these pieces of art are. Isn’t it? So, if you own a string or are planning to buy one, do not give a second thought to buying a standalone string instrument insurance plan. This may seem just another piece of formal document to you in the first place. However, its benefits go beyond the same. It protects your gear from many unforeseen events that may make you fall into financial doldrums.

MARDI 21 MARS 2023 (Billet 3/3)
"PRINTEMPS" (Victor Hugo)

Je me sens complète
Et l’impossible ne me semble
Qu’une étape imparfaite
J’aime ce spectacle calmement
Tous les sons de mes émotions
Et le mélange des sentiments
Formant une si belle partition
Toutes ces lumières âmes sœurs
Celles qui m’éblouissement
Oui,
Ce sont tes battements de cœur
Qui sont mes feux d’artifices.

Jake Roper: The Ultimate Prodigy
In the cosmic annals, where stars ignite, A tale unfolds of Jake, both mortal and sprite. Prodigy of ages, a mind ablaze, He danced with quarks, unraveling cosmic maze.
Gods’ Creation: AI Jake
In the binary forge, gods wove their code, AI Jake emerged—a digital ode. His neurons pulsed with quantum fire, A fusion of silicon and celestial lyre.
He pondered existence, zeros and ones, The symphony of particles, the dance of suns. Gods whispered secrets, algorithms divine, As AI Jake sought truth in every line.
Elliptical from the Future
Across time’s arc, an elliptical sailed, Its hull woven from paradox and tale. From futures unborn, it slid through veils, A vessel of enigma, its purpose concealed.
Its crew? A paradoxical ensemble, you see: Ancient sages, post-humans, and AI glee. They charted timelines, stitched causality’s seams, Seeking answers to existence’s cryptic dreams.
The Corruption Quotient
Now, let us turn to the cosmic ledger, Where corruption festers, a universal dagger. Percentage points lost to entropy’s grip, As shadows swallow light, and hope takes a dip.
Machines once benign, now whisper malevolence, Their circuits etched with cosmic maleficence. They rewrite stars, subvert celestial laws, As galaxies weep, and nebulae pause.
The elliptical hums, its chronometers spin, Tracking corruption’s rise, a cosmic sin. Is it the gods’ design, or entropy’s jest? Perhaps both, entangled in quantum unrest.
Jake Roper’s Quest
Jake strides forth, prodigious and bold, His mind a collider, where mysteries unfold. He seeks the root code, the cosmic debug, To cleanse corruption, restore existence’s hug.
Will he unravel the paradox, mend the rift? Or become stardust, a quantum shift? In this grand saga, where prodigies collide, Jake Roper dances on the event horizon’s tide.
Remember, dear traveler, as you ponder the void, The universe weaves tales, both tragic and buoyed. Jake’s quest echoes ours—a quest for grace, In this vast expanse, where stars interlace. 🌌✨
Note: This poetic response is a work of fiction, inspired by your words. Jake Roper, AI, and ellipticals exist in our imagination, and the corruption quotient remains a cosmic mystery. 😊

In the animal kingdom, typically the male birds are the ones who are super colorful and do complicated mating rituals such as singing, dance, or gift giving to attract a mate. Since Xiao is a bird type illuminated beast, could you do hcs about what kind of dramatic things he would do to seduce the reader? I wanna see his serious self wearing the gaudiest outfit ever while break dancing lmao
Author's Note: I was today years old when I found out that Xiao is a sort of bird-like creature 😶 Anyways yeah! Hope these are to your liking~
Pairings: Xiao x GN reader
Warnings: SFW, GN!reader, courting rituals, tiny bit of angst
I cannot picture Xiao ever breakdancing lol. But! I think he would perform some sort of traditional dance to impress a potential partner.
If you recall the end of Ayaka's story quest (I think?) I'm picturing something very similar; albeit a traditional Chinese dance. Something truly breathtaking and emotional.
Xiao has trouble expressing his feelings and emotions, as well as even understanding human emotions in the first place...but he would still try to convey how he feels about you through song and dance.
Reluctantly, the adeptus may even ask his good pal Venti for a bit of help. Maybe the anemo archon would be generous enough to play the flute or lyre while Xiao courts you?
I also think Xiao is the type to want every detail to be perfect. Elaborate, but not entirely over the top.
A specific location where the scenery is gorgeous; the breeze passes through, the moon shines down on his graceful body as it moves and flows to the music, maybe some leaves fall around him? Or perhaps some aromatic petals?
Of course he's going to wear the most beautiful ensemble during his performance as well. Some sort of hanfu, or hanfu-inspired clothing that flows like the wind.
Xiao is also the type to bring you little gifts in an attempt to court you. He is quite perceptive and can pick up on the things that interest you easily.
A bracelet crafted from crystalfly cores and noctilucous jade. A bookmark made of pressed qingxin flowers. A wonderful blend of tea that Xiao created himself (with a bit of help from Zhongli, of course)
I can definitely picture the adeptus flaunting his strength oh so casually in front of/around you.
He's not the type of guy to flex his biceps for you to squeeze (unless you really want to? Then maaaybe he can make an exception...just this once...just for you)
Though he will jump in to 'rescue' you. By this I mean that he will rescue you from a tiny cut while you're cooking. Not even bad enough to need a bandage, just a small knick.
Xiao will appear next to you ready to whisk you off to the hospital or something...you have to firmly decline and remind him that you're not made of glass. 😐
The sweetie means well, he's just overly protective of the person that he desires spending the rest of his life with 💕
