Tangentially related to some of the discussion i posted earlier but quiet literally the first RW Art Month i participated I did it completely on whim like, one day before it started. And I mostly did it because I hadn't drawn a ton of rain world and wanted to draw more. Fandom presence was a lot smaller than and I was one of a handful of artists who did the entire thing. Fast forward and I still do Art Month and I've gotten to work with VC directly.
But it was quite literally something I decided to do completely on whim that set the ball rolling, and for something a lil more niche and certainly with a lot more dev/fandom art involvement than most. It's really random how and why you might get noticed more than usual, especially with the "toss it into the search and hope it pays out' mechanism of Socmed
#t.extpost#and im hardly the fanciest art month artist out there so it wasnt even about being a jaw droppingly talented artist or whatever#and while artmonth for rw is still given a huge focus its also a much much bigger thing now with a much bigger number of participants#which is cool! its awesome how many people i saw do most if not all of last art month! and VC is really good about not just repping the#most popular artists or fanciest pieces#but theres So Much More there now and while its great for finding artists its also impossible to get Everyone in there you know?#Although they absolutely try#And this is like. one of the most fanartist involved devs ive ever seen in terms of both celebrating the art their fans make and actively#bringing those fans in to contribute#and its /still/ hard to get going just because thats how Posting is#i used to be more of a hk artist which is both a huge fandom and riddled with stunning artists but theres So Many#and niche fandoms are niche so youre more likely to connect with people but less likely to see a ton of engagement regularly -#probably best example i have for that was being briefly fixated on patapon.#Its just messy to try and find the hack that sets you up#just have fun and jump around and make what you like#get a sense of feeling for your style and some people will stick around for that vs. strictly the subject matter#others will look up the thing you switched too and some wont engage#you cant really control it#so have fun and draw that thing you randomly thought about at 2 am that doesnt match your blog#draw for that forgotten rpg you liked when you were 15 or draw for the 70 player max steam game you played for this week#you never really know what will happen#but its not really worth worrying about what will happen either

Yk what true love is. My brother super excited calling me to watch anime with him.
He waited for Friday so I would have time.
He didn't watch it alone, as he could, at any time, bc he wanted to watch it with me.
He chose to watch it with me, instead with anyone else.
He had the initiative. He set everything up, bc he wanted to spend that time with me.
He talked to me about it, commented on everything with me. He wanted to hear my thoughts and wanted to share his.
He made time for it and even downloaded it to put on the TV so we wouldn't get ads and shit.
We didn't watch it all in one go. Bc he wants to keep watching tomorrow. He wants to spend time with me a bit every day.
That's like love in the purest form to me. Every time one of my brothers do shit like this idk what to do with myself.
#look im naturally a soft person#but this is too much#for my heart#random ramble#(it was jujutsu kaisen s2 btw.#im enjoying it so far. the animation is nice and mix 2d & 3d as expected of mappa. it has really interesting shots and compositions#the beach scenes were fucking stunning.#the only criticism i have so far is that the rhythm feels weird for some reason but that doesnt take my enjoyment from it#my >real< criticism is the soundtrack. it IS off putting but not in a good way. doesnt seem like it was intentional#the music don't fic in most scenes. and there is a specific track that made me want to bash my head into the wall#a fucking bell thingie that was driving me absolutely insane the 3 times it appeared .#the only time the soundtrack did make sense for me and i think it really worked was in the aquarium scene.#other than that it really annoyed me overall#another GOOD thing is the comedic part i think they're making Gojo seem really young in the flashback#and everyone's body language and expression are fire and amusing#ANYWAYS ENOUGH OF THIS)

Like, how do people come to the conclusion that it is a perfectly normal idea to write weird comments under an Instagram post of someone you think might be the person your favourite artist is dating and harass them until the artist himself steps in? What the ever loving hell?
Secondly: How the fuck did y'all figure out it was him from a picture that looks like what I see when I take my glasses off? It's so far away, he has shorter hair apparently and is all tanned. just saw my first real live not-in-a-zoo bear which was very exciting but what wasn't exciting it I saw him in my driveway stealing a snack from the bags of trash our neighbor has been piling up in a trailer
#charlie babbles#I heard a crashing sound and went to investigate what I thought was a cat being catlike saw babycat with her paws up on the shelf under the#window stand straight up and stock still just absolutely staring out the window#looked out through the fan in the window and saw the metal ironing board that was in the trailer yesterday was now behind the trailer and#there were cans scattered around and then a black shape appeared. and looked at me. and looked at the trailer. and climbed in the trailer#he grabbed a bag brought it to our backyard had a bite to eat and wandered back down the hill after stopping for a drink at neighbor's pond#I probably should've called animal control and I will if I see him again. he was only out here for five minutes or so#and I was just kinda. stunned#definitely a young bear not a baby but maybe a teenager#neighbor said he saw one last year I think. and apparently folks on varying sides of town have been seeing one recently#*not our trailer neighbor's trailer flat open tow-behind he keeps it in our driveway while we don't have a car

I think having 2,000$ to spend at a fiber festival could cure me
#melon rambles#went to a fiber festival today and it was so much fun and so cool to see all the wonderful crafts and art people have made#but it also deeply saddened me that I could in no world justify spending 500$ on a handmade tapestry of a cat#or blow 300$ on an alpaca wool cloak#(It was so soft!! So incredibly soft!! And so beautiful!!!)#tbh some of the things there were probably underpriced for the amount of labor that went into them#but I am simply a broke college student#My sister and I did find some incredibly nice scarves though (the fabric was silky and soft and had absolutely stunning colors and designs.#they looked so fine and fanciful#but still had a bit of weight and warmth)#and they were on sale for 15 bucks!! I got a gorgeous rainbow colored one and my sister got an intricate black and white one#between that and the skein of merino/angora wool yarn I splurged on I really do feel incredibly fancy#rich people really do need to get their priorities together about what they frivolous spend money on

One day I'm going to finish my FFXVI mega essay, but for now I think my thoughts on the game can be summarized like this:
When making FFXVI, the developers sure knew what they wanted to do, and by god were they going to do it.
Were they also going to do other things that would make those first thing better? Were they going to do other things that make a good game overall? Ehhhhh...they were going to do what they wanted to do, and invest all their time and effort into that, so surely that would be enough! Surely!
#i saw someone call FFXVI the most disappointing 8/10 game they'd ever played#and i agree 100%#it started off SO STRONG#and then. and then!!!#ffxvi#my overall rating is in fact an 8 out of 10. maybe 8.5. definitely not a 9#i enjoyed many parts of it but by god were the lows low#some of the highs were very high too! i don't regret buying or playing the game! i'm glad i did#but yeah most disappointing 8/10 i ever played is an apt description#my opinion might be slightly impacted by my uh. mental state at the time#2023 was not a good year for me. for several months ffxvi was the only thing i had to look forward to in life#and that's really sad but that was just the place i was in. life was absolutely miserable#i played the demo and was over the moon. good things were coming! it was way better than i anticipated!#then i played the game and while i enjoyed a lot of it a lot was just tedious in a bad way#so many repeated plotlines and so much whacking you over the head with the points they wanted to make#like come on guys i am not an idiot do you really need to tell me this exact thing 18 different times#and have me go out of my way to get. reward which is just a slightly different flavor of that same thing 18 times#that's what i mean by them doing a few things very well. by god were they going to do them. and only them#graphics? beautiful. i had to stop at several points bc i was stunned by the quality.#but after you've seen a few forests and some fallen ruins it gets boring when that's it. the world was just so small and empty#yes i do support the rise up against your oppressor plotlines because that is a good thing to do but that was like. 90% of the story#(including sidequests) and it just kind of got old. why did i just spend 3 hours straight doing sidequests that gave me nothing new#made some of the sidequests feel pointless. especially because the rewards in this game sucked#uh oh i'm getting too negative so i'll end it here#ffxvi was a good game but it is not one of my faves. glad i played it but idk when i'll play it again.#erurandomness

#he’s just#aghhhhhh#HES SO FUCKING GOOD AT IT#both the roof and sat in the car at the end were moments of sheer perfection#firstly that burst of physical outrage as he tries to reject everything that’s hurts him and physically reject comfort bc he knows that#leads to pain like he just wants to physically rid it from his body but no amount of pushing and shoving can erase it that’s fucking perfect#and his expression when that car door opened and he just slowly sank to sit down#the tears in his eyes the shock on his face#he’s just seen his mother his last parent his last close family member the last person that loved him and who he can trust taken#from him right in front of his eyes potentially#and the absolute weight of the world crashes on his shoulders knowing he could now be alone in this vicious world with no one to trust#no one that can help not at his level anyway#that even with palm he’s crushed by the weight of leadership#and that’s why I love that palm says no listen to me now I’m in charge#bc at least for now neung might want to make decisions even if they’re dangerous#but someone is not letting him he’s overridden he’s not in charge#it’s not just lightening the burden it’s taking the entirety of that responsibility out of his hands#putting it in a draw where it can be addressed later#so now he can be safe and looked after and pdocsss#that’s stunning#man THIS SHOWWWWWW#never let me go

Zoned out in literature and imagined an entire Kuviren smut scene and I don't know how I'll manage another lesson and then the tram ride home with it at the forefront of my mind
#kuviren#concept is such:#suiren has a bad day with resurfacing trauma and general overstimulation#kuvira tried to talk to her but suiren tells her to fuck off in no uncertain terms#unfortunately kuvira's too stubborn and cares too much to leave it be and pushes#also yeah it's established relationship at that point#eventually suiren confesses that she keeps hearing Haya's voice in her head calling her a curse and a worthless good for nothing#kuvira comforts her and then offwrs to help her with a distraction to get her out of her head#she's got a glint in her eyes. suiren is only half into is bc she's tired but agrees anyway#and the idea is that it's after they leave the anarchist commune hiding out in the mountains and forge their own path#so i guess after the gears of revolution were put in place too. but that's half relevant#point is. wherever they are now there's a floor length mirror in the room. kuvira takes suiren by the hand and leads her to it#slowly she runs her hands over her body showering her with flowing praise. telling her how beautiful she is#suiren's wearing an oversized shirt as a night gown. kuvira easily pulls it down to below her chest#and i don't think tumblr will like me continuing to describe what happens after that in detail#but the gist is that suiren is made to watch herself be absolutely done in so she can see that kuvira's praise aren't just empty words#playing with blades and edging are involved too#and eventually suiren can't think of anything else so mission completed#she finishes long and hard and looks stunning in the afterglow#kinda wanna actually write it ngl
