sorry if this is out of the blue or something, but i really want to check in with you guys <3.

The person I fell in love with (and was struggling to accept was never going to be mine) is showing up in our life again and I'm not entirely sure how to feel..?

That's really random but that's the situation I'm dealing with at this exact second. It's quite bothersome but, I've dealt with worse. Unfortunately it is The Jester and The Architect that pulled me into this. Speaking about their well-being is a much trickier matter.

What was it like the first time Twig or Ark referred to each other as Mother/Dad when talking to Opal? Was it awkward or were they comfortable enough that it was natural?

It was completely comfortable, at least at first, because they initially only referred to each other that way when they were alone with Opal and the other was away. They both had a small heart attack after Opal started talking and finally connected the dots as to who Mother and Dad were akin to how she realized Dusknoir was Grandpa.

Neither of them noticed that Opal had referred to them by a parental term because they were too panicked by Opal blabbing their secret in front of their crush.

Changing Daemons relationship with his family was such a poor idea. Daemon didnt need to hate or resent his wife and children to be a bad man. He was multi faceted already. Worse even we got hints of an alternate version where he did love them without question.

We see him sitting close with Baela teaching her Valyrian in Pentos where they looked comfortable like he was used to and happy to teach her their language. He even during Laenas birthing scene talking to the healer, being told how Laenas struggling to give birth and he just sort of whispers to himself "my brave girl". And how when presenting with the same choice as Viserys was, cutting the mother open to save the child where Viserys only asked if he could ensure the child lives but Daemon only asks "will the mother survive?" To which he shakes his head no when being told she wont, before realizing she's gone and chasing after her. And a deleted scene of him even consoling his daughters after her death.

It's like they out the foundations of their romance there and they only added specific lines to make sure no one thought he loved Laena over Rhaenyra or his daughters over his eventual sons. Not even going into how awful it was to rewrite Laena to be a "settled for second option" and then written to die a brutal death alone by fire instead of in her husband's arms.

Like, they wanted to push Daemon and Rhaenyra so badly, but like, we see he treats Rhaenyra is no better. They sacrificed a genuinly loving relationship for one that they immediately wrote as toxic and full of arguing and even abuse.

I honestly have no idea what they think I'm supposed to be getting out of Daemon and Rhaenyras relationship that they sacrifice everything else. I mean, they also definitely didnt show best anything of Harwin and Rhaenyra for the same reason. It would risk people liking him over Daemon for her just like they feared people like Laena over Rhaenyra for Daemon.

It's like they have no idea what to do about this relationship, because they're too cowardly to just follow what happens in the books for them now.

I completely agree, I've made a post on why I don't ship Daemyra here.

But let's talk about what you said, all of what you've said is true, I'm a HUGE Laena x Daemon or Daela shipper. So much so I'm planning go make a Daemon x Laena fic in the future on my fic account @ashblooddragons.

What drove me crazy about Ryan and Co doing this, is the fact they changed the Veleryons to black and then make Daemon pretty much hate Laena and his daughters. It made me uncomfortable and it's easy to have ones mind go to Racism. Especially when you add the fact he's pining for his very white niece.

And yeah if there is one person I think Rhaenyra should get with its Harwin. And them giving him little to no screen time in general but especially with Rhaenyra and the Steong boys is very weird to me.

It kinda felt like they tried to be inclusive with the Veleryons only to make them be used or ignored by their partners (besides Corlys). They kinda feel like a after thought to Ryan and Co and it pisses me off cause they were VERY interesting.

Sorry if this sucks you said a lot of my own thoughts and I also have a headache I need to take meds for. Hope this all makes sense.

Well, it's not the most spacious place, for starters. Julie has us all beat on that I think, with Neil and Stephen's place coming second. Then maybe my place? I'm not really sure... DEFINITELY not Scott's.

But it's alright. Ramona knows what to do with the space she has, I think. And she just tucks whatever doesn't need out into her little bag that she's got, so there's never really any clutter, unless Scott's provided it. She's got, like, multiple stories to it? Like, one and a basement, or something- in addition to the ground floor, I mean. We've discussed playing down in her basement, sometimes, for practice? She seemed pretty receptive.

It's nice being over there. I dunno. She hasn't done a whole lot with it, but it's nicer hanging out there than it is here, usually. Wish she was less busy so I could come over more... I mean, I could visit Scott when he's there I guess, but it's not really the same. Besides, I wouldn't want Ramona to come back from work and have to chase me off to get some rest or something?

Anway, more realistically, she's probably exhausted after running around all day, being the only Amazon delivery person in our area and all. Even if she was fine with me lingering, I'm not sure I want front row seats for the two of them being lovey-dovey or whatever. Gross.

And Gideon... Gideon is probably one of the cutest cats I've ever seen. I didn't really like cats too much before now, but I think I've been converted or something. He's just the sweetest thing, sometimes, and Ramona's managed to get him nearly completely desensitized to being picked up, held, moved around- he just genuinely doesn't care, so long as you aren't hurting him.

He's a short haired cat, I think, but he's super soft- Ramona tells me it's because we're always petting him. Something about the oils in our hands making his fur softer? I think I get the general idea there. His fur is like... deceptively dense though? You can sink your fingers in a little and muss it up if you want.

Heh. I don't recommend trying to mess with his stomach at all, though. Gideon's generally pretty forgiving, and doesn't really bite or scratch people from what I've seen at least, but one time Scott tried to give him belly rubs while he was all splayed out on the couch... the attack afterward was pretty tame so far as the initial strike went, but he got Scott good, and there was like... blood, everywhere. You'd think he nicked an artery or something, but no, it was just Scott doing what Scott does.

Is there some sort of like... thin-skinned or heavy bleeder debuff he's got or something? Or was it just him being a moron and splattering it everywhere? Anyway, Ramona had it handled pretty quickly, and tiredly, so that's probably something really typical for them.

I'm gonna be honest guys, i'm really not convinced that Daemon is in love with Rhaenyra. To me it looks like he's more in love/obsessed with the power Rhaenyra gives him since he couldn't get the crown himself. Getting married to the ''future queen'' is the next best thing obviously. Not to mention that it's a huge fuck you to Viserys

I agree, a lot of people point out that he was flirting with her before but then he was in love with the idea of a Valyrian bride not Rhaenyra herself.

Rhaenyra knew the only way Daemon would marry her is if she gave the promise of the throne and crown, hence why she used that in her speech trying to convince him to marry her. Also if he truly was in love with her, she wouldn't need to convince or beg him to marry her he would've suggested it on his own and or the moment she was like "yo you want to marry?" He would have jumped at the idea not needed her to have the crown and throne in front of him like a pig chasing a carrot on a stick.

I think (and it is heavily implied) that Laena was his true love, that she's the one who was his soulmate.

(🦢) feel like joy's the coldblooded type and hot drinks mess her up a little. This is gonna be very funny when adele inevitably offers to make us tea and shes just gonna 🧍‍♀️ sit there waiting for it to cool downKQKWKSKSK she eats her veggies at the very least they never had problems foraging!!! I think her favorite is stuff like beets and yams. And to follow up to the cake question she doesn't like fruit that much because she doesn't really like sugar. I think shes the harrowhark type of "I lived on snow leeks for so long that a biscuit is making my head spin now" which probably contrast feilke who looks like he could handle anything (he just wont because his body is a temple) maybe she'd like apricots because they have a good texture.

(📜) hot drinks expensive tastes. Constantly regrets they can't buy white tea with bergamot anymore. Probably learned to brew perfectly as a party trick for the matriarch just in case she wanted to like, have them meet a potential fiancee or something (wasnt impressed. That's servants' and women's thing to know how to do). They will eat veggies as needed but dont like a various amount of them due to being raised in a fantasy french household and probably having had some debatable quality cooking going on at times; they like figs and cherries (they learned the stem tying trick too) and would go steal them from the mansion grounds and nearby convent as a child because I can just See It. Favorite cake is the black forest, but I think now they're around Peasants they might end up liking simpler and handmade things u__u

(🏵) NESSS MY GIRL NESSIE!!! Cold drinks. She's half human but as half eladrin her season has always been firmly winter, and then she moved to a very warm climate, and she does a lot of physical work so she needs to keep her head fresh. She likes ice tea and- they don't have Arizona there but I think she'd love Arizona green tea. They definitely don't have monster energy there but she'd love that too. So much for a femme. She eats lots of veggies and her favorite is pumpkin of her adopted mom's pumpkin soup fame. Her favorite fruits are apples because they're the easiest to carry and eat on the road, but when she's home she cuts them into bunnies for her little sister 🙆‍♂️ for cakes and sweets... more of a pie kinda person.
