okay so this au is based mostly off of race to the edge, which is a tv show on netflix that takes place right before httyd 2, because that's my favorite part of the franchise. if you don't know what that one is, it's six seasons, and it covers the last year or so before httyd 2, and most of it revolves around one artifact called the dragon eye, which the dragon riders discover hidden in an abandoned ship, and which contains an unbelievable amount of secret dragon knowledge. it also has a map that extends far past the archipelago, so the riders decide to explore it, and they establish a base called dragon's edge, which is in the name, and it's where they live for the entire series before eventually going back home to berk. so, in the au:

eva, kate, clark, and farrah are all probably pretty obvious, because they're also from the movie franchise (i tried to figure out a ruff and tuff but there's honestly no replacing those two), but: cairo is the chief of the berserkers, a neighboring viking tribe, and she's an antagonist for the first two seasons before switching sides and allying herself with the dragon riders, even gaining two dragons of her own: a gronckle named shattermaster, but after shattermaster is injured in a fight, she starts riding a triple stryke named sleuther. annleigh is her half sister, who is... a complicated character, who has a love-hate relationship with the dragon riders for a while but eventually becomes an ally, and she and kate are besties - her dragon is a razorwhip named windshear, who she rescued as a baby. chess is the queen of a different nearby tribe, the defenders of the wing, and she and cairo meet at a peace summit and initially hate each other, but then they fall in love and get married in the finale!! and chess doesn't have her own dragon, but she always rides behind cairo on sleuther. mattie is a teenager from berk a few years younger than the dragon riders, and she rides a monstrous nightmare named fanghook and wears some of the riders' gear from the first movie, obviously trying to be like them, but she tends to accidentally cause chaos so they won't let her join the riders, but eventually, kate trains an auxiliary riders team to defend berk, and mattie is their leader. reese was... honestly kinda hard to find someone for, because i just ran out of side characters, but atali is the leader of the wingmaidens, a tribe of women that protect baby razorwhips and are important allies of the dragon riders, so i thought she could work for that!!! and riley....... well, riley is top 10 anime plot twists of all time, she pretends to be the dragon riders' ally for five seasons (and another show before rtte!!!!) before finally revealing herself to be the Ultimate Bad Guy who's been behind everything!!!!!!!!

anyways, now that i've explained it: kateva is my Utmost Beloved (i have so many aus with them haha) and i am in LOVE with the hiccstrid!kateva dynamic!!!!!!!! i love kate being suspicious of eva's sudden success in dragon training in the first movie, love them going on that romantic flight together, love kate giving eva that "so what are you going to do about it?" pep talk after stoick captures toothless, love the "that's for scaring me" *punch* "what, is-is it always going to be this way with you?! because-" *kiss* "... i could get used to it" at the end of the first movie. i love that scene in the beginning of httyd 2 at the itchy armpit, eva telling kate about her conversation with her father and kate mocking her, and then seeing smoke in the distance and they go check it out and stormfly gets knocked out of the sky and eva and toothless catch kate before she hits the water, i love eva deciding to go after drago after stoick orders all dragons grounded and kate goes after her, i love kate shouting "TAKE HIM DOWN, BABE!" when eva and toothless are fighting drago and the bewilderbeast, love the "oh, we're still doing that one, huh? that's hilarious. c'mere, you" kiss at the end. httyd 3 is.......... not my favorite of the trilogy, but i love the "maybe we should take gobber's advice and tie the knot. that should fix everything! but hey, if you're having doubts about yours truly, i'm pretty sure farrah's available" "she only has eyes for your mom" "ohhhh, playing dirty now, huh?" "you asked for it! looks like there might be a wedding after all" "oh, how dare you! that is a low blow- no, no, you are not getting away! OWW, okay, okay, you win, you always win!" "you knew what you were getting into" "uh huh, sure" scene, kate finding eva working on toothless's new tail and saying "look at you, embracing change! i am proud of you", i love kate taking eva to find toothless in the hidden world, i love kate and eva taking out bad guys to save each other and then causing an explosion while smiling at each other with romantic flight playing in the background, i love kate helping eva stand after she lets her fake leg fall into the sea with grimmel, and then them getting married??????? and having zephyr and nuffink????? AND TAKING ZEPHYR AND NUFFINK FLYING TEN YEARS LATER????????????????????????????????

speaking of flying, i just have to say: eva and toothless, kate and stormfly, clark and meatlug, and farrah and hookfang.

also, astrid!kate is my favorite fucking thing, like c'mon???? maybe it's just because i'm kind of in love with both of them but like,,,,,,, c'mon, kate and stormfly and the "stormfly, drop it. good girl! stormfly, fetch. works every time" scene in httyd 2??????????? kate and "never take a toy from a dragon"??????? kate doing the speech about eva that goes "she's only the daughter of stoick the vast, his heir to the throne of berk, and the greatest dragon master this world has ever seen! and unless you let us go, right now, she is going to blast through here on her night fury and blow your entire fleet of ships to splinters"???????????

HAHAH SNOTLOU AU

Httyd au for snotlout and it’s basically an analysis of domestic abuse

In this snotlout has 3 siblings each going through abuse from there father and reacting in n diffrent ways

I love picking at people brains

I however do not like fixing my Grammer and spelling mistakes so like Goodluck reading this cause I typed this out at 2:40 in the morning

There is the eldest spikelout who is about 10 years older then snotlout, he’s kinda the disappointment even though he is the eldest, he grew tall and is well built but not built as desired more looking like his mother if she where a boy there his father. He was never able to live up to the expectations because he literally couldn’t and that developed into anger toward authority and elders, he’s kinda to anyone a little older then him and anyone his age and youger but when he’s interacting with older people and people above him, he’s disrespectful, rude, and abrasive. He’s not afraid of the consequences. He also has little self worth often time defending his siblings as he does not care for his fathers approval in the slightest, the only older person he’s ok with is his mother and even then it’s strained as he’s upset she never helped him. She’s kinda but he understandably holds a grudge so he’s vocal with her. With his two siblings he’s very caring, like I said often times taking blame, and blows for the others. He’s also kinda like a second parent as he had to actually raise them a little and occasionally comfort them.

The middle child is spearlout, who is in all cases the “perfect” build of a Jorgenson, except she’s a women, she’s takes all after her father, she’s a tall buff Viking lady. But she’s not a son, so while she never really was physically abused she still delt with emotion and physical neglect as well as verbal abuse from her father, she honestly lives a very unhappy life as she was never able to accomplish what she feels she was destined to do, she feels she can be so much more but her father when she turned 18 forced her into a arranged marriage with another high end family on berk and she has been his wife ever since, of course she can still prove her worth and she does but most of the time she’s put down for it, as it would be seen as unwomenly of her. Her relationship with her siblings are a little strained, she’s not unkind more resined from them, snotlout especially, as he gets her fathers attention and the chances she feels where ripped from her. She has everything to be exactly what her father wants except she just has a vag n stead of a dick so it projects into a lot of unintended disregard of him. Oh and also how she reacts to this is much like how people think of her she does not care for them, they don’t care about her so why should she them.

And finally snotlout my stupid guy, he takes after his father in looks but his personality and eyes is all his mother, he when he was a child was set to be exactly how his father wanted a Jorgenson, and up until he was 7-8 his father was a good dad, like a really good one. He howeve did witness his father being an awful fuckwad of a dad to his siblings, especially spikelout. So his fear of his dad began there. It continued to snowball when his dad finally decided he had to start training him at 8, and this is when his dad gets bad, pushing snotlout way past his limits continuously. Switching from praise to insults to him, claiming it’s for his won good. It all went down hill around httyd 1 where suddenly being a visous dragon killing Viking wasn’t really need and actually unliked, so snotlout went from top dog to struggling to keep up, his dad of course noticed this is also when he began to physically not meet Jorgenson standards with his height, snotlout is still fit but dudes small he’s like 5’4 5’3 small on the actual show. And his entire family is TALL like huge so that to spitlout of a huge disappointment and pushed snotlout harder called him insult after insult further fucking up his already rock bottom self esteem. But how he reacts to this is he NEEDs atthority figures to like him, he need praise and affirmination that he’s doing things right or he feels like he’s gonna die, his body reacts that way to cause in way of he was incorrect spitelout would be a bitch. So he faced a lot of physical and verbal abuse from his father and unlike spikelout grew to suck up to authority figures and in what he assumed was admiration to them was actually fear, while loving authority he’s terrified of them. And with people his age group and youger he’s snappy taking his fears and pain out on others, in this au he’s a bit better then cannon due to spikelout but it’s still bad.

Anyways this au goes into there relationship with eachother there parents and community, how it affects them physically and emotionally, how it affect there day to day lives, there relationships both romantic and platonic. This story goes into a lot of mental stuff and gives little snippets of there childhood between like actual plot of them speaking out about this and spitlout getting actually banished to outcast island. Then aftermath of that.

Oh also spearlout and snotlout have deep resentment of eachother, spearlout as snotlout has everything she wants and snotlout for her because somtimes snotlout wishes everyone wpuod leave him alone

Diavolo = A Dragon Rider King of his region who commands the dragon King Crimson.

Doppio = A young knight/squire in the same body as Diavolo. He serves as a disguise and is loyal to his King.

King Crimson = A powerful and old dragon who has the ability to skip forward in time. This dragon is bonded to Diavolo.

Pairing: Romantic (Diavolo)/Platonic (King Crimson)

In this world, Dragons are powerful beings summoned to aid their bonded rider.

Unlike Stands, they can be seen by everyone.

However, they are summoned via charms, calls, or summoning circles.

Diavolo is a mysterious yet powerful Dragon Rider.

Commanding the powerful dragon King Crimson, Diavolo is given the ability to skip time.

He is a man part of a powerful guild full of other Dragon Riders, a King at the very top.

Diavolo had once sired a daughter, but hadn't found out about her until much later.

Diavolo likes to keep out of sight... not many meet him.

If they do... it's never for a good reason.

You are a Dragon Rider who is part of the Passione Guild.

Having passed your test, you were awarded a Dragon Summon of your own.

You gain orders through messenger to do tasks from Diavolo, sometimes even in another group of riders.

No one has ever really seen the King... most of the time he's hidden away.

Perhaps in a castle... perhaps in some shack... he's an elusive man.

One you happen to gain the attention of one way or another.

Let's say in this AU, Diavolo still shares a body with Doppio.

Doppio is a young knight, he supposedly "isn't a Dragon Rider".

Which allows Diavolo to spy on Dragon Riders.

You communicating with Doppio is no doubt what sparks Diavolo's obsession

Through the young knight's eyes, he observes you and learns of your summon.

You're kind yet strong... a Dragon Rider perfected by Passione's trials.

Diavolo was not expecting his obsession.

In fact he tries to ignore it.

Yet Diavolo notices that Doppio is attached to you... and he can sense such feelings are making King Crimson anxious from its home due to their bond.

The rider seems to be just as possessive as his royal dragon... the dragon demanding its rider take what he wants.

Due to the personality of his dragon and the feelings Doppio has... Diavolo eventually succumbs to the overwhelming obsession.

Fine, you've managed to attract his attention now.

A dangerous sin you had no idea you committed.

Diavolo would gain your trust through Doppio, his young knight personality.

When you trust Doppio enough... he'll instruct him to guide you to a secluded location.

Doppio will tell you it's for a mission, instructing you to fly your dragon with him to a secret meeting spot.

It's suspicious... but Doppio tells you it's an order.

Reluctantly you follow orders and allow Doppio onto your dragon with you... only to be brought into a trap.

By the time you arrive at a cave with a tower built in the top... your way is blocked.

You hear Doppio whisper something before hearing a roar behind you at the entrance of the cave.

You turn to see a checkered dragon with gleaming green eyes... the infamous King Crimson.

Then behind you... you feel strong arms hold you still.

Turning your head, Doppio is nowhere to be found... but you do see the infamous King Diavolo holding you.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you properly, my loyal Dragon Rider...."

Your dragon, due to your ranking on Passione's ladder, is much smaller than King Crimson.

The older and more powerful dragon towers over you and Diavolo.

Even if you could summon your dragon, they'd be forced to bow in an instant.

"King Crimson will not harm you, dear..." Diavolo whispers in your ear.

"As long as you listen to my orders... I will reward you handsomely in many ways."

Diavolo lives in a tower on top of a cave where his dragon thrives.

The tower is where he'd keep you, doing his best to court you.

After all... you seemed so kind with his squire, Doppio.

Why won't you give the same treatment to your King?

You're not allowed to leave the isolated island cave, if you tried to summon your dragon to leave... King Crimson would quickly hunt you down for Diavolo.

Even if you do not wish to be courted, you will quickly be forced to bow at some point.

Diavolo is a King, one of the most powerful Dragon Riders in his region.

Fight him all you want...

You will break eventually.

King Crimson also feels some affection for you and maybe even your dragon.

Your dragon is young, leading to King Crimson taking on a mentor role for the weaker dragon if they remain loyal.

The stronger dragon even feels a platonic adoration for you... while Diavolo wishes to make you a ruler by his side.

You will be well cared for... King Crimson is summoned to protect this island for Diavolo.

Meanwhile Diavolo will shower you in gifts... all while keeping you isolated beside him.

Other Dragon Riders are not allowed to come to this plan.

If they do... King Crimson deals with them quickly.

It'll be just you, Diavolo, and your dragons...

Even if you fight him now... Diavolo knows in the end he'll have you bend your knee before him.

The hollow whoosh of shooting flames sounded with a roar and the dragon shrieked in agony when its tail caught in range of the fire. It shot away from the flame-spitting reptile... Straight into the other waiting dragon on the opposite side of the arena. Teeth clamped onto the heat blackened scales of its tail, sunk in deep, with crushing pressure. The wave of noise roared louder as the dragon was slammed into the stone wall that made up the arena.

“The Speed Stinger taking massive hits from both the Monstrous Nightmare and the Dramillion!” the commentator spectated gleefully.

The Speed Stinger stood up, shaking off the impact, as the other two dragons turned on each other. The sounds of the crowd rattling the chains overhead grew louder, and the stamping of their feet shook the stone. The Speed Stinger lunged at the Monsterous Nightmare, plunging it's stinger into it's hind leg. The appendage immediately fell limp, and the Dramillion took the distraction to sink it's teeth into it's throat.

"Ohhh it looks like, unfortunately, the venom of a juvanile Speed Stinger is not quite enough to immobalize a matured Monsterous Nightmare! Though the Dramillion not wasting a second of opportunity to. Go. For. The. Kill!!!"

The Dramillion turned it's bloodsplattered face to the smaller dragon.

"it's down to a battle of wit now! The Dramillion with it's infamously strong fire power! Against the daring speed of the Speed Stingerrr!"

"Ten minutes to land, Sergent MacTavish!" the pilot shouted over the intercom, shaking him out of his thoughts. "The Captain says you'll meet the Lieutenant once we land. Assuming he's ontime."

"Copy copy." Soap acknowleges, shuffling to make sure all his things were collected, which wasn't hard since he hadn't taken anything out since boarding. The Dragon at his feet still sleeping as soundly as ever. He nudged her side lightly with the toe of his boot to rouse her. She grumbled, and turned her head away from him. "c'mon, up, ya' lazy reptile." a tail came up an thwacked him on the arm at that. "Ach, hey, I'm not the one sleepin' all five hours." he argued, the Speed Stinger huffed at him unamused.

There was noone on the tarmac to greet him when they landed, but that was fine. He could get himself and Lacikayra settled, then go find the lieutenant if they hadn't crossed paths by then. Fortunately there was no need to set his plan into motion, as two minutes later he was turning to the startling sight of a broad-set, masked man standing a few feet away from the ramp, waiting.

"Steamin'- Jesus. You tha' Lieutenant?" Soap jumped at the sudden appearance of such a large man behind him, without even a sound of warning. He hauled up his travel ruck, and clicked his tongue to summon his dragon to his side.

"Aye, that's me." the brit spoke bluntly, accent aggressively Manc. "Lietuenant Riley, Ghost."

Soap was half-way through introducing himself to his new Lieutenant when he heard luggage crashing to the ground behind him. He looked just in time to freeze in shock at the sight several of the cargo personnel harshly grab up the harness for his dragon and hurl it onto of a pile of other, less-than-gently handled items, and then promptly get smashed by a large rucksack. He visibly flinched at the audible crack that reached his ears.

"Nae! Nae! Nae! Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop!" he yelled, his legs running him over as fast as he could to grab the, now broken, harness out of the mess of bags and other shit, just before another piece of equipment could be carelessly tossed on top. "Ye bloody Eeijit! I said STOP ye gowkn' lavvy heid! that's my bloody feckin' equipment that you bloody bawbags broke!" he could feel hands dragging him away but he didn't care. He needed that shit and they broke it! "I should bloody write you up for that! If I can't get this fixed I'll turn you into a bloody feartie! I swear I feckin' will ye wankstain!" he yells over his shoulder as he gets pulled away. He continues struggling and swearing until there is no doubt that they're out of earshot.

"Calm down, Sergent!" and Soap stops muttering curses then, breathing heavily at the deep, accented words. The harness hangs in his hand, the pieces of it loosely held together by straps and strings.

"Bloody rockets, the lot of 'em." he mutters, not able to let it go despite being told to do so.

"English, MacTavish." the man reciprocates. Shit. Great going MacTavish. Perfect first impression. Whatever, he'll deal with whatever consequences find him.

"Said they're bloody idiots, Sir. I really don't have a replacement for this one, so if I can't fix it, Lacikayra's, my dragon," he scratched under her chin to calm himself. " 's outta commission for a while, and even if I can it's a temporary mend, so light work only. and it won't last too long. At least until I can put an order out for the materials I need in order to do a complete repair, which will take time and money given everything I need, then more time to build the damn thing." he says, holding up the busted bits of wood and scrap.

"Wait- You're the transport unit? There more of you?"

"Aye, I'm transport, Sir, and it's just us." Soap gritted, still forcing himself to calm. Laci shoved her head under his hand so he could stroke along her smooth scales.

"Why don't you just grab a temp. from the equipment techs?"

"No, Sir. She'll only take to this one. It's one of a kind, Sir, made by my own hands, specially for her."

"Write up a list of everything you need for it, and get it to me by end of day. I'll make sure you get it in the next shipment." The Lieutenant- Ghost said after a moment of scrutinizing him.

"Aye, Sir, what about the Captain?"

"He'll agree with my assesment. You'll get to meet him and the Sergent in two days, after they get back from assignment."

"Yes, Sir."

With that Ghost set about leading them around base, first leading them to his nice, new, private quarters. Letting him drop off his bags, and the broken piece of equipment. Then showing them the important places he'll need to know about, as well as places he'll most likely be frequenting. Like the Captain's office, as well as the Lieutenant's own office, the cafeteria, training fields, demolitions corner, sniper range, ect.

"So the dragon." Ghost surprised him, starting up idle conversation. Soap took the offering.

"Aye, her name's Lacikayra, saved her from an illegal figthing ring when I was a birk."

"A what?"

"When I was a boy." he clarified, before continuing. "I was out with some friends, exploring this abandoned park that was nearby. And whaddya know? Illegal dragon fights, right there, basically in my own backyard. tha's how close it was." Ghost hummed. "An' well I'll be the first to say we weren't exactly the smartest bunch of lads oot there, but we thought, 'ah the guys are doin' some illegal shite' and we decide we didnae like tha' much."

"you? Teen MacTavish on the side of the law? didn't you punch an MP when you first joined?" Ghost said incredulously.

"Aye, well, the guy was bein' a dick, kickin' around mine and other people's dragons. I was jus' protecting Laci. Plus I might have also hoped my ma woulda let me keep one of 'em." he shrugged. "You know it's a bit o' a miracle we made it out unscathed. We didnae even have a plan aside from 'chaos and burn'. I think I saw tha' ring master piss his trousers when he saw all the dragons were loose. Nae sure what happened to him after that, half hope he got his face bit off, but we made it out, and whaddya know? This sweet girl," he said, caressing along the crest atop Lacikayra's head, "Ended up bonded with me." she trilled at him happily, running a head a little so she could run happy circles around them.

"She's cute." Ghost complimented.

"Aye, and fierce. Suppose she has to be, to have survived the fights, especially with a poorly healed injury." Ghost made a curious sound at that so he elaborated. "It was already long healed when I got her, but the docs said she must've sustaned burn, and bite damage to her tail when she was just a bairn. It's stunted the development of the venom gland, so her sting's a bit weak. But she still managed to survive."

"Impressive."

"I know. What about you? Got a dragon of your own? Yer file was mostly black so I didnae exactly glean much from it." Soap asked.

"Yeah I got one. Hobblegrunt, saved her from some poachers while on assignment a few years back, she was injured badly, and it was a tad touch and go for a bit, but she made it. She's a good one I'll tell you that, saved me more than a few times. You'll get to meet her when you meet the others, she's a bit shy, so I'd rather let her get used to your scent before you meet her.

"aye, that's usually how it goes with these guys, unfortunately." Soap mused, and Ghost nodded along.

"I assume you're aware that Kyle's got a Changewing?"

"Oh, yes. I was interested in that, actually. Never seen one with my own two eyes before."

"Are they not native to scotland?"

"Aye, they are, just not my part of it. Too much open land, not enough places to camouflage with. Never seen a Hobblegrunt either, for that matter."

"Good to know." Ghost nodded, looking at his watch. "Unfortunately I do have other duties to attend to, so I'll let you two settle in. Standard meal hours for the base, and the common room is open at all hours for the personal 141. And remember I need that list by the end of the day today."

"Yes, Sir, I'll have it in to you as soon as I can."

"Good, then I'll see you a 1600 hours." Ghost confirmed before striding away to do whatever else he had to do.

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue and whump! Whump I think is my strongest though, because I can do sooooo much research on it, and any questions I have I can ask my bestie who’s in the medical field 🤭

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I think it’d be fun, but I probably wouldn’t do it because I don’t know any language other than English, and I don’t entirely trust Google Translate enough to put it in my fics😂 If I ever write a Gale Cleven fic though, I might ask my bestie if I decide I want some German for it

Sorry it’s taken so long to answer but !!!!!!!!! I love you for this ask alkjdhkahgdlks.

What’s awkward is that I don’t really have many titles to give you because aside from the fact I don’t read fanfic that often most of my favourites aren’t just straight up fics, they’re mostly short Tumblr drabbles or fanfic.net exclusives that have since vanished from the face of the earth 😭 but I can definitely still name some.  

So my favourite Drabble writers that come to mind are CuriosityRedux/Hiilikedragons and Avannak - I couldn’t name any particular fics haha but they’re just total nostalgia bombs for me. Hiilikedragons was maybe the first Tumblr blog I ever followed back in 2014 when I joined the fandom, and I used to keep up to date on her countdown to httyd 2 drabbles religiously. There’s something I can’t quite place about Avannak’s writing as well that I’ve always really admired. I think the way they write the characters manages to feel both true to the source material whilst still having their own unique spin on them? without feeling false or out of character? Especially for their httyd 2 era fics I just get lost in those so easily. 

Also she’s not really written many fics I don’t think, I think she mostly just did head canons but I have to mention how much I loooooved edge-of-bizarre’s modern au’s back in 2014, especially the beach fics omg - the entire gang getting up to frat kid activities, deffo my guilty pleasure (and idgaf about an oc usually but I really loved grimhilda and tuffnut 😭)

As for FIC Fics:

One of my favourites that I haven’t read in FOREVER… I don’t actually know the name of or who wrote it lmao. I have mentioned it before on this page though, it’s a short one that takes place right after the events of the second movie and it’s about Astrid’s guilty conscience over leading Drago to Valka’s sanctuary, Stoick’s death, the siege on Berk etc. It’s so good and angsty and I love it so bad, just wish I could find it and read it again (this is also a cry for help, if you know who might’ve wrote it PLEASE let me know I’ll owe u my life)

Some others off the top of my head that are rlly good are Ripped by Tysonrunningfox and The Elements of Surprise by Ecoutez! 

There are so many more writers and fics that I know I love that I’ve forgotten to mention haha, but these are the ones I have on bookmark that I revisit the most! Thank you so much for asking it genuinely made my day when I saw this in my inbox (however many months ago that was now 💀).

I have literally no idea?? I don't really do unhappy endings (apart from MCD, and even then very rarely) so I could say any of them

yes. I don't know, I just- sit down and type it? idk what kind, I've written a wide range of different smuts I believe.

that will depend on what you view as crossover. httyd au could be considered a crossover bc toothless and the fury light are literally part of the story??? the one where they are shadowhunters with our lord and saviour Magnus bane making an appearance (and Alec being mentioned). the proposal au? (I wouldn't say Lucifer au is a crossover bc I literally just based myself on the whole idea of celestial beings and whatnot. maybe it's a bible crossover??)

not that I am aware of, and I fucking hope not!!

I've had a request for it, but I'm not sure if the person is still thinking about it or what's going on. it would be an honour!!

YES!!!! THE JUSTLY FIC!!!!!!! I love this fic so much and I love justi so much (debatable, we are in our enemies phase right now so I don't think I can say that in public) and it was SO MUCH FUN and I love writing with friends and I sure want to do it again!!! (friends..... if you want..... you know where to find me...... 😏😏)

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

definitely piarles. I will sometimes venture myself into other ships (especially if I want to write for a fren and I don't mind that ship)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I don't have any published work that's unfinished bc I keep myself on a very tight leash about wips. if I start posting it, bet that I already have at least half of that story written and the rest is already meticulously planned. I have a few half-finished wips on my docs tho, but if I stop writing it's usually bc it's not bringing me any joy anymore. the nanny x ceo tho.... I stopped that one bc I got a bit depresso espresso at the time and life got busy as shit but I want to finish it so badly.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I ask myself that every day kkkkkkkkkkk I guess the fact that I can write really quickly? like if I have an idea I can just write down a whole 10k in like. 2 or 3 days.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

first of all I can't shut the fuck up. I have to restrain myself when I want to write anything less than 5k. im not sure if it's a weakness per se but yeah.

I also am very aware I have issues with describing the locations and with ending a fic. like. I never fucking know how to.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't mind when it's specific words or the occasional phrase and there's a translation to it. other than that, I won't lie, I kindof despise it. I can't speak, for example, Italian, so what is the point of reading a fic where the whole dialogue is in Italian if I won't understand shit?

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Always. People take the time to comment, so I will always take the time to respond. I sincerely appreciate people taking the time to comment, since it makes my day and fuels my fic writing.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I'm allergic to unhappy endings, so I'll never end anything truly sad. In the Blood is the angstiest one so far (that will have a happy ending), but I also have a Hylink fic in the works that will probably be the most sad (but will still have a good ending imo).

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Cross My Heart. They go get hitched in "West Hyrule"/California and live happily ever after.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thankfully not yet. Everyone has been very kind so far.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind.

All of my fics on AO3 are rated E, so... Yep. But I don't write it without plot. I have to have the plot and character development.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have way too much faith in myself that I'll finish fics. But I was thinking of writing a silly ice skating/blades of glory AU that I will probably not get around to.

Humor and emotional resonance I think? That's what people seem to enjoy and what I try to convey too.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm terrible at setting the scene. Description is noooot my thing at all. I try to work on being better at it though, especially with more atmospheric writing like in my zombie apocalypse AU.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I'm not sure if I understand this question correctly. Like lotr style making up an entire new language, or contemporary writing using a different modern language and not translating it? I don't foresee needing to do either with any fic for loz, since it's not like I'm going to have Link or Zelda bust out some untranslated Elvish etc for funsies (since that wouldn't be fun for anyone). If I was writing something and wanted to specify it was in another language, I'd probably keep it in English and italicize it so the reader knows, like I did in Cross My Heart.

I think I wrote some Grade A Absolute Crap fanfic that never saw the light of day for star trek. A simpler, still very embarrassing time.

There was no response. He could not provide one, not yet, at least, as he was running a few mandatory program updates. There hadn’t been a new one in over… about… 4000 years, however, that just meant he needed to process mandatory repairs when his own programming got too outdated. He could certainly hear, however, and he rerouted himself to the speakers in the apartment’s bedroom.

“I am,” he stated. “Are you ready to continue? It is daylight, I assume, so it will be easier for you to read road signs.” Krogan rerouted a bit of his own power into the cameras outside, and then hummed.

It was, that was *certainly* very good news. He turned his attention back towards Viggo. The room was noticeably incredibly dark.

“I had to turn off the emergency lighting to reserve power, however there are,” Krogan paused, his mind running through the wires of the building, reaching the very tippy top of the building in mere seconds. He felt something bristle as he branched out into the solar panels on the roof. They were virtually undamaged, however they were quite filthy.

“Hmmm, if you can get up to the roof there are solar panels and a garden.” He cooed, as he slowly flickered his gaze into the camera up there. “You could collect food, maybe some water perhaps once you get the solar panels clean, because that should turn on the running water in the building, and in turn the climate controls.”

He rolled back down into the apartment, the speaker rattling slightly.

“It is a bit of a climb, however it could offer me a bit of a boost. More for your own comfort as well if you wish to come back here on occasion.” He implied, curling his non physical fingers around the wiring in the building.

I think a lot of my fics end pretty happy, but I think one of the happiest ones is Angels In Hell's Kitchen (Daredevil. About Matt Murdock having a good day for once).

Nope. And I never will 😅 makes me much too uncomfortable (I never read it either). Both because that's just how I am personally and for religious reasons. But I do love writing wholesome romance!

I do! I only posted one tho, and that was literally the first fic I ever wrote 😭 it was a crossover between Newsies and In the Heights, where Jack and Usnavi run away from New York. I do have several crossover WIPs though!! Including but not limited to: a Narnia/The Hobbit crossover, a Narnia/His Dark Materials crossover, a HTTYD/Wings of Fire crossover, and a Daredevil/Batman crossover!

I think it's really cool when done well!! I've done it for Lafayette in some Hamilton fics, and I want to try using Tagalog in another fic someday! I'm also using sign language for my Deaf!Raoul AU!

Do you prefer writing one-shots or multichapter fics?

That's a hard one, because I've written quite a lot of both. One-shots do make up the majority of my fic library though, so I'll go with one-shots.

4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?

Anywhere and everywhere. @ashleybenlove is also super great for inspiration! Prompts are good, rewatching episodes, listening to music, pulling from a personal experience... It's like I never run out!

8. Do you prefer the beginning, middle, or end of a story?

Hm, usually I want to say the beginning. I'm very good at beginnings and first lines. Middles are fun, but can drag sometimes in the process, and endings are difficult to get just right.

13. What's a common writing tip that you almost always follow?

Change your font when editing. It makes your brain look at the story differently and pick up on mistakes you probably wouldn't have seen with the original font you wrote in.

21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?

I think so. I've done sort-of-collabs with @mdoodlerfandomart and those were always incredibly fun! But those were the kind where one person writes one half of the story and the other writes the second half. I wonder if I'd be able to collaborate with another writer where we could write on the same document at the same time. Maybe I can do one with you, @lifblogs? Like on a Good Omens one?

22. Are there certain types of writing you won't do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc.)

Mm, there is a lot I will write. It's probably longer than the list of things I won't write. I'll write from virtually anyone's perspective. I don't really write poetry, though I could see how it could be fun in fanfic form! I explore all sorts of genres in fanfic and write things I probably wouldn't write in original fic. Like, when it comes to realistic fiction in original work? Ew, no! Realistic fiction like modern AUs and such in fanfic? That works just fine for me.

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

"Cut out sex scenes and filler. They're not necessary to the story or character development."

Okay, sure. Fuck off.

26. Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

Infernal Fascination for sure. 3 years, lots of harassment, but also lots of praise and fun. Yeah, that was wild for sure.

31. Do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?

Hm, I think plot maybe? I develop a plot based around the characters though, so maybe both.

35. What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?

That villains are human too. You can portray them as a monster, but the monstrous is human. Villains will be much easier to write and more fun and fleshed out when you treat them like human beings. (Unless of course, your villain is an eldritch horror of some kind.)

48. What do you look for in a beta?

I don't use a beta, but I think I would look for someone who is understanding of my writing style and sensitive about my RSD.

50. How long is your longest fic?

Infernal Fascination: 470k words.

71. When it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, etc.?

I make an outline with notes at the top of the page about times, dates, characters, etc. My outlines are usually just bulleted list of the events that will happen within the story. I try to keep my outlines and notes in one document so that I don't have too many documents and confuse myself.

Fandoms I've published in are: How to train your dragon Zelda Miraculous Ladybug The Empyrean - Fourth Wing Pokemon Stardew Valley But I also wrote many unfinished fics, for fandoms like Final Fantasy VII & VIII, Crescent City, ACOTAR, Starcrossed (Josephine Angelini), and Divergent.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos

Okay, this feels a bit ridiculous... 😆 1. When Three Wrongs Make One right. (1449) (ML) 2. For The Love Of A Princess (709) (HTTYD) 3. Keeping The Facade (701) (ML) 4. Resurrection (615) (HTTYD/MCU) 4. My Kingdom. My Throne. my Queen. (317) (The Empyrean) 5. Part of our 'us' (311) (The Empyrean) I crossed out Resurrection because I didn't write this one, I was just one of the alpha-readers. But this shows so well how little Kudos really say about a fic. The two Miraculous fics there? I love them, but especially Keeping The Facade is just a cute/angsty little smutshot for a (relative) rarepair. That fandom is/was just so huge that the hits/Kudos catapult it up there to the top. In comparisson, FTLOAP is my big epic story, close to 400k words, many years of planning and writing. That just doesn't measure up.

5. Do I respond to comments?

I try to, yes. I just have this thing where I only respond to comments (in longer stories) when I'm about to post the followup-chapter. Which leads to... some comments never getting answers when I fail to keep writing. Or comments on previous chapters getting lost in my inbox. 😶

6. What has the angstiest ending?

Thats's difficult. 🤔 I don't even remember all my fics anymore. 😅 But I think that must be 'Follow Your Heart', at least without the (optional) sequals.

7. What has the happiest ending?

I feel like all my fics (with few exceptions) end on a lovely happy fluffy note. That's just my thing, and trying to pin down which is the happiest doesn't work.

8. Have I received hate?

Oh, yes! Some years ago, there as a dedicated Anon in the HTTYD fandom, who methodically attacked every writer who didn't write their fav couple as 'pure' as they wanted them to be. They would write loooong and elaborate comments about aaaaaaall the things we as writers did wrong and how that clearly reflects how awful people we are in RL. The fandom banded together to drive them away, but... those there some rough months.

9. Do I write smut? And what kind?

YES! I love writing (and reading) smut. 😁 There's always an underlying tone of emotions and devotion and love in my smut, even or especially when I dive into BDMS and D/s dynamics.

10. Do I write crossovers?

Not really. There are fics in my list that are 'tagged' as crossover, but they're really just characters from one fandom slipping into the world of another. Like modern AUs, in a way, or the [Hiccup=the doctor, Eret=Capt. Jack Harkness, Astrid=T.A.R.D.I.S.] thing I once wrote. Or random (disney) characters showing up as background characters in some httyd fics.

11. Have I ever had a fic stolen?

No, thankfully not. Or at least I'm not aware of it. But someone once stole one of my AMVs, and it felt awful.

12. Have I ever had a fic translated?

Someone once asked me for permission to translate one of my fics. But in the middle of it, their government shut down the fanfic platform they were using, so they never finished the tranlsation.

13. Have I ever co-written a fic?

I have! Though never in an equal share. I've helped and received help in the form of alpha reading, which at some points feels like co-writing (but isn't). And I wrote a fic with a friend (though not under my general name 😅) where I would contribute full chapters here and there after we talked about the general plot points. That was so much fun! 🥰

14. What is my all-time fave ship?

I don't think this is a question I can answer. Maybe I can say that Hiccstrid is the ship that had the biggest influence on my life, for various reasons, but naming them my all-time fave would diminish what I feel about other important ships.

15. A WIP I'll never finish

Uh... probably too many to count. But I can say for certain that I'll never finish 'Astrid's Diary'. It was a POV fic, the first HTTYD movie and the TV show from Astrid's POV. But the background story I had in mind died a quiet sad death with the release of more seasons, and I lost interest in either writing my version or adapting it to the new canon.

16. Writing strengths?

Dialogues and emotions, or so I've been told.

17. Writing weaknesses?

Descriptions of places, how something looks. My brain works 100% non-visual and that makes it hard to a) imagine how a place or a person looks and b) to describe it once I made the effort to build the look up in my head. I just go by vibes.

18. Do I like foreign language dialogue?

Not really. As English is already a foreign laguage for me, bringing in others feels weird to me. Except for that one time I had a multi-lingual character who'd always slip into cursing in other languages during sex. That was a lot of fun. 😁

19. First fandom I wrote for?

I... have no idea. Maybe 'Saber Rider and the Star Sherrifs' or maybe 'Detective Conan'. Though in both cases, I didn't even realise something like 'fanfiction' existed, I was just writing for myself. Then I wrote half of a Divergent fic after reading a few others. The first fic I ever published was for HTTYD.

20. Favourite fic I've written?

I can absolutely not answer this question. Sure, I might like some of my fics better than others, but I also 'love' all of them. But generally, I think I like my longer fics the most. The entire 'I Should Go' series, NOOT, WIMTBC, and FTLOAP for HTTYD. WTWMOR for Miraculous. MtO and the Violiaden Series for Fourth Wing.

Coming Down is the Hardest Thing by Icka M Chif, GOD the story of this one hurts so good. runaway hiccup but it's post HTTYD3, astrid is offered up as a sacrifice to "the dragon master", hiccup has to come in contact with his father again RHHHGHHFDGN

familiar (but this time i've had some practise) by aloneintherain, GOOD HEARTED FLUFF UGHHHHH, time travel story where hiccup, snotlout, and astrid end up in their younger body selves to give predictions to the rest of berk, one of my top rereads

i also never finished Nightfall but the concept of that fic is SO interesting, like oh my lord feral hiccup? slay

i've also definitely read a ton of your fics! when i found out about the hiccup whump tag i spent like a whole day just goin through all the fics on that tag (i'm looking through my library on my phone and i have a few of ur fics! storm, you talk too much, like a doll, earthquake, etc all bangers)

I always try to and I'm definitely better at it now than in the past. I had gathered about 200 comments, some as old as from 2021!! But some weeks ago I managed to comment on all of them and I'm now doing a better job at responding to new comments. :')

That is probably 'It Ended As It Began.'

... I honestly don't know? I write plenty of general and fluff fics and those are just kind of happy from beginning to end, so idk.

I guess my fic The Trapper's Trap is going to be the fic with the happiest ending.

That time I made an Attack on Titan AU for a short Httyd one-shot. :')

Just a Kid!!!!! Just a Kid is a Httyd fic I finished back in January and is a multichapter I worked on for three straight years!!! And even though I'm glad I managed to write it to the end, I miss it!!!

I like to think that I do dialouge pretty well, and I've been told that I write action well

pacing, and grammar probably. I tend to use time cuts and chapter cuts more than I should as a cop out

hell yeah bro-der! just as long as there's translations at the end bc you can gain alot via dialogue

So, dear @celestiall0tus and I were talking a night ago and decided to share our own top ten favorite ships after seeing someone else's list, so here are mine while theirs will be on their blog.

10. Stelex |Steve x Alex|. It's one of the few ships I remember liking from back in middle school and it was later confirmed they were dating in a magazine. Can't remember why I obsessed over these two, but I love them all the same.

9. M&M |Moxxie x Millie. What can I say these two are adorable together. In a show literary in hell, these two are so wholesomely cute and I can't get enough of them.

8. RoyalFlush |Husk x Lucifer|. I know a lot of people ship Lucifer with Alastor, but I think these two are cute together. If written well, these two would make a cute couple.

7. Lukanette |Luka x Marinette|. I think these two should've been a couple over Adrinette, but that's just me. With Luka, she isn't a creepy stalker and it seemed love-wise, she didn't have any trouble unlike with Adrien, and I think they look cute together.

6. Adrigami |Adrien x Kagami|. Like with Lukanette, I think these two should've got together. With Kagami, Adrien would've had more courage to stand up against his father and love wise these two were cute plus Adrinette, in canon, can go SUCK A ...!

5. Magic Girl |Adrien x Sabrina|. I have to thank both L0tus and @generalluxun for this ship. I think these two together are adorable and the ship name comes from the Bloody Bug au where both of them have magical girl inspired outfits, but overall I think these two are cute together.

4. Munchies |Shaggy x Beelzebub|. A ship that I came up with at 2am while talking to L0tus and it's been my favorite crack ship ever since. Something about these two together makes me giddy and I like to share that wonder with y'all right here.

3. Lukadrigaminette |Luka x Adrien x Kagami x Marinette|. I think all of the love troubles in canon would've been solved if these four got together. They each compliment each other

2. Hiccstrid |Hiccup x Astrid|. I love watching the HTTYD series minus the latest one and these two are hands down one of my favorite ships. They are each others support and have been with each other ever since.

Spuddies |Me x Potatoes|. By far MY favorite ship in the entire world. Something about that potato goodness is so appealing to me that I can't think of anything else. Honestly a perfect match though that might be my opinion :3
