Alright, if you're going to devote a whole week to my beloved Sokabine tugboat, I had best at least share a HC I haven't published yet.
We all know Ahsoka is a space tiger. She hisses, she growls, she purrs, she snarls, she rubs her cheeks all over Sabine when they snuggle in bed, like a cat does to a garden fence post.
But, Ahsoka can also sense Sabine's pheromones. She can tell when Sabine's at whatever part of her menstrual cycle, and adapts her training plans to best suit Sabine. (Ahsoka still finds it evolutionally backwards that human women have to undergo such a cycle every month whether they want to breed or not, but I digress.) Ahsoka knows when Sabine's at her physical and emotional strongest, so plans for heavy sparring sessions and tries to get Sabine to utilise the Force in those sessions, which can often become a bit of an ego-check for Sabine. But Ahsoka has learned that this is when Sabine's at her most resilient. When Sabine's menstruating, Ahsoka watches for signs of pain that Sabine won't speak up about, and ensures their training is less physically demanding, like quiet meditation.
Sabine, naturally, has no freaking idea about this, and Ahsoka has no intention of telling her.
She is a Space Tiger, and more people should acknowledge that.
You know, I've always liked the idea of a non-human partner (be they alien, vampire, or whatever) being able to sense when their partner is menstruating and to quietly and respectfully accommodate for their needs without making a big deal about it.
I love this! Great headcanon, @femmefighter xx

[A]bout two third of the Swiss population visited the “Village noir” in Geneva. How is it possible that [...] the exhibition of 200 African people that two million people visited has fallen into oblivion? [...] Today, Geneva is considered one of the capitals of [so-called] [”]human rights[”]. Back in 1896, during the Swiss Second National Exhibition, it hosted a human zoo. There are very few visible references to it, except for one street called after its corresponding “white” exhibition, the “Village Suisse”. However, several researchers’ archival work helped unearth the history of the first Swiss “Village noir”. Inhabited by more than 200 individuals from Senegal, the village was situated a few streets from the city’s central square, the Plaine de Plainpalais. For six months, paying visitors observed these “actors” living their lives. Their religious ceremonies were advertised as public events. Tourists could take pictures with the African troupe and walk around their dwellings. [...]
Far from being a Swiss peculiarity, human zoos were spread around the West. Human exhibitions were a form of entertainment [...] [popularized] in the early 19th century in Great Britain. [...] [O]ne of the most famous shows was Sara Baartman, the “Hottenton Venus”. [...] [S]he was brought to Europe from South Africa to participate in an exhibition. Such “freak shows” spread around Europe and North America [...]. [I]n the late 19th century [...] shows became part of national and colonial exhibitions. The first ethnic exhibition of Nubians occurred in 1877 in Paris [...]. For the ticket-buying public, the experience was comparable to a visit to a regular zoo; it was about observing “exotic animals”.
As it often happens with animals, organisers re-created the subjects’ “natural habitat” [...]. The setting was constructed to perform authenticity. On the one hand, the civilisational discourse justifying colonial expansion and domination exaggerated the living representation and exhibition of the “savage” in need of enlightenment. On the other hand, the alleged brutality of the “native” was displayed through the mise-en-scène of their “primitive life”. These exhibitions did not present savagery; they invented a specific kind, which prepared the ground and fuelled further expansions and the ruling of “barbarian” and “uncivilised” societies. [...] All activities were meant to nourish Westerners’ enthusiasm for the exotic [...].
The turn of the century was among the highest points of scientific racism.
This was when the pseudo-scientific attempts to create a superior race thrived within Western anthropology and biology academic departments. For eugenicists, human zoos provided ‘samples’ for racist theories. During the Geneva National Exposition of 1896, Emile Yung gave a conference where he presented 15 people from the “Village noir”. He compared their skin colour and skull size to those of a Genevan. This process aimed to demonstrate how the size of the skull affected the level of civilisation and mental capacities. These ideas were spread among schoolteachers and helped crystallise and expand racist stereotypes. [...] Visitors were presented with an invented representation of Africa [...].
Moreover, as Patricia Purtschert of the University of Bern suggests, evolutionism and racist human-development theories at the core of the exhibitions had clear educational goals.
Thus, scientific racism developed within academia went hand in hand with popular racism: human zoos were places where these two faces of the same coin met. [...]
Indeed, Swiss scientists were active in shaping colonial mentalities. [...] Unlike other countries, Switzerland did not stop its human exhibitions during the interwar period. Until the 1960s, the national circus Knie presented the “Völkerschauen”. It included the display of [”]Eskimos[”], Catholic Indians, “mysterious Egyptians” or people with albinism. [...]

Both popular and academic anthropological writers have presented us with scenarios of human evolution that feature, almost exclusively, the adventures and inventions of man the hunter, man the toolmaker, man the territorial marker, and so forth. Woman is not comprehended as an evolutionary or evolutionizing creature. She is treated rather as an auxiliary to a male-dominated evolutionary process; she mothers him, she mates him, she cooks his dinner, she follows around after him picking up his loose rocks. He evolves, she follows; he evolutionizes, she adjusts. If the book jackets don't give us pictures of female Homo sapiens being dragged by the hair through 2 or 3 million years of he-man evolution, we are left to assume this was the situation.
This, despite the known fact that among contemporary and historic hunting-and-gathering people, as among our remote hunting-and-gathering ancestors, 75 percent to 80 percent of the group's subsistence comes from the women's food-gathering activities. This, despite the known fact that the oldest tools used by contemporary hunters and gatherers, and the oldest, most primal tools ever found in ancient sites, are women's digging sticks. This, despite worldwide legends that cite women as the first users and domesticators of fire. This, despite the known fact that women were the first potters, the first weavers, the first textile-dyers and hide-tanners, the first to gather and study medicinal plants i.e., the first doctors and on and on. Observing the linguistic interplay between mothers and infants, mothers and children, and among work-groups of women, it is easy to speculate on the female contribution to the origin and elaboration of language. That the first time measurements ever made, the first formal calendars, were women's lunar-markings on painted pebbles and carved sticks is also known. And it is thoroughly known that the only "God-image" ever painted on rock, carved in stone, or sculpted in clay, from the Upper Paleolithic to the Middle Neolithic—and that's roughly 30,000 years—was the image of a human female.

Take one look around our world and at the church. A need for a new reformation is evident in the church, which then has consequences on the culture as a whole. We must return to the Bible as our absolute authority.
Whether it’s liberalism, evolutionism, Gnosticism, Mormonism, Islam, New Age, moral issues (e.g., abortion and gay marriage), or the age of the earth, these are all ultimately battles over the same issue.
In 2 Corinthians 11:3, the Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, warns us about this ever-present danger: “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
Paul in essence is warning Christians that Satan will continue to use the same method on us as he did on Eve: Satan will try to seduce people away from a simple devotion to Christ and his Word.
To understand this better, we need to go back to Genesis 3:1: “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say . . . ?’”
From the beginning, the battle has been over the authority of the Word of God. The first woman, Eve, followed by her husband, Adam, gave in to the temptation not to take God at his Word. Instead, he relied on his human reason to determine truth.
Because Adam was the head of the human race, his rebellion plunged the entire human race into sin. All his descendants inherited a sin nature that refused to take God at his Word and instead made human reason their supreme authority.
This battle against God’s Word has manifested itself in every era of history.
Paul faced skeptics on every side, who questioned the clear proclamation of God’s Word. In its early centuries, Christianity fought several challenges to the authority of the Scriptures, including Gnosticism, which taught that man was his own god. Modern issues like the age of dinosaurs or carbon dating are merely new manifestations of age-old attacks on God’s Word.
Human reason has replaced God’s Word, and compromise has crept into the church. This is now reflected in an increasing number of church leaders becoming soft on gay “marriage,” etc.
A reformation is needed again to call the church to take God at his Word from the beginning—starting in Genesis.
In the sixteenth century, the sale of indulgences by the church, for forgiveness of sin and release from the pains of Purgatory, marked a climax in the elevation of human thinking above God’s Word. The monk Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Wittenberg Church, challenging indulgences. This act sparked a debate about the ultimate authority of the Bible above the church, and it essentially began the Reformation.
Others joined this reform movement. The Western world was dramatically changed, as Bibles and tracts were printed on the new presses and thus biblical truths were disseminated widely. In fact, until recent decades, much of the West was still heavily influenced by the Reformation and its call to take God at his Word.
The battle against God’s Word never ceased, however, as a series of men and events sought to undo the positive effects of the Reformation. Behind these attacks was an effort to make human reason supreme and steer people away from the authority of the Word of God. It was another manifestation of Genesis 3:1.
In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the attack against the Bible intensified. New speculation about the age of the earth and the evolution of life raised questions about the accuracy of the Bible. The core issues can be seen in the Scopes trial—said to be the most famous and culture-shaping trial in history (other than the trial of Jesus).
The Scopes trial of 1925 was not really about the teaching of evolution, as is commonly believed, but a deliberate ploy by the American Civil Liberties Union to put Christianity as a whole on trial. Even though the prosecution lawyer William Jennings Bryan was a great Christian statesman, he let the Christian faith down by not standing on God’s Word concerning the book of Genesis. For example, he was unable to give an answer about Cain’s wife, allowed the possibility that the earth is millions of years old, and didn’t accept the days of creation as literal days.
The trial marked a symbolic turning point in Christendom and American society which impacted the church everywhere. The world’s media reported that Christians were not taking God at his Word (in Genesis), and also that they could not adequately defend it.
The failure of the church to stand on God’s Word has brought devastation to countless lives. Just one example is the once-prominent evangelist Charles Templeton. While in seminary, he was taught to believe in an evolutionary timetable, including millions of years, which eventually led him to reject God’s Word and write a book called “Farewell to God.”
Compromise about biblical authority in Genesis 1–11 has made the church so weak that the Bible no longer impacts the culture as it once did. This has largely occurred because human reason was allowed to invade the church and push aside God’s Word.
A new reformation is needed. It’s time for a new generation of reformers to stand up and call the church back to trust in God’s Word where it is most under attack—the history of Genesis 1–11. We need to call people to turn away from the opinions of fallible mankind and stand firmly on the entire Bible.
It’s time that believers made their voices heard, nailing Genesis 1–11 on church doors and secular buildings across the world! We need to take God at his Word and return to the “simplicity that is in Christ.” Then we can watch the power of God’s Word transform lives and influence the culture. – Ken Ham

1. the Awkwardness of Evolutionism
Xuefeng (Translated by Conglong) The Awkwardness of Evolutionism According to the theory of Evolution, humans were evolved from apes, and apes could possibly be evolved from rabbits, and rabbis from worms. Worms could be evolved from microbes; microbes from single-cell organisms, which could possibly come into being by accidence in the sea, the vast “organic and fertile soup”. Evolution is the result of inheritance, mutation and natural selection.
Evolution is a slow and gradual process.
Evolution is in accordance with the “natural selection, the law of jungle and survival of the fittest.”
But is this really the truth?
The process of one organism evolves to another organism is a very long process. A rabbit can’t evolve to a monkey overnight. One seed, from germination, growth, flowering, fruiting to decline, there is a process. Any step of process could not be skipped. If we take picture of the seed every day, we will be able to see the slow and gradual process of its change. Evolutionism firmly believes that humans are evolved from apes. There must be a slowly changing process and some “intermediates”, that is to say, from an ape to a man, it should at least have some steps of intermediates, it is impossible that an ape will leap to a man, so where are those intermediates? What are they?
In 1924, “scientists” found fossils which they called “Australopithecus africanus” (Southern ape of Africa) near the famous diamond town, Kimberley, South Africa, later, they found more, “Australopithecus boisei” (it is also called “Eastern African”), “Australopithecus afrensis”, “Australopithecus garhi etc.??Particularly, they think “Java Man” was the “intermediate” between ape and human. Based on these facts, evolutionists self-deceivingly claimed that they had made “great achievements”.
But please don’t be too satisfied; self-entertaining will not bring joys to others.
According to the calculation based on molecular biology, it was between four and five million years ago when men and apes separated, so from four million years ago till the time of earliest historical records, how human beings evolved? Were there no any processes or intermediates? If not, does that mean evolution stopped at the stage? If yes, please show the evidence.
Again, I want to ask evolutionists, which animal were apes evolved from? Can you please give us evidences too?
How can you prove that the four million years old fossils you found are the ancestors of humanity? Just because their shapes look alike? Can you prove that chicken is the ancestor of swan because you found a few chicken bones?
At the end of the twentieth century, a large number of fossils were discovered in Chengjiang County, Yunnan Province, China.??The research showed that today’s diverse animals were actually appearing suddenly on the earth, and it also proved the correctness of theory of “Cambrian Explosion”, which??happened 530 million years ago.
The theory of “Cambrian Explosion” says that over 90% of animal species were appearing suddenly in a “moment” which is less than one percent time of the earth developing history. It is like mushrooms growing everywhere along ditches and grasslands after an overnight drizzle, which is by no means a slow and gradual process, so do evolutionists still have any far-fetched explanations on this?
Let me ask more: the obtuse angle of three congruent rhomb at the bottom of a beehive is 109°28', and the acute angle is 70°32', which is the most economic and reasonable structure, so is this “wisdom” also from evolution? Rooster crowing, chick breaking its egg shell, bird migrating, spider webbing, eel discharging, chameleons changing skin colour, weaver bird nestling, silkworm making cocoon, snail making shell, hound tracking, pigeon going home etc.. Do all these wisdom of animals and insects come from evolution?
Let’s make the conclusion by quoting the wisdom of Darwin, the originator of the theory of evolution, "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down".
The birth of Lifechanyuan has proved evolution theory has “absolutely broken down”
Evolutionism cannot prove the origin of humanity.
Human beings were not evolved from animals at all.
So, what about the sayings in Bible?
Please read the origin of humanity 2.

Hello stranger! What is your opinion on the Barbirusa! I think they are very fascinating animals even though I do feel very very bad for them... their teeth got to hurt!
Hello!👋 Ouchie wouchie! I leaned of their existence just now and I have got to say! That ain't great! They shoulda go to the dentist or something! How did that happen, like, evolutionally? Who knows! I mean they're still around! They're probably doing okay, hopefully! Well, until they poke themselves at least.
Thanks for the question!

Devo, Jocko Homo
I decided to choose the video of Devo called Jocko homo. The video shows scientists and someone giving some type of great secret that will reveal that humans are actually regressing. The video is trying to express that us humans are de evolutionizing rather than moving forward doing greater things. I believe that the people in the video don’t believe the world is going through evolution and that humans are not actually humans but something rather worse than that. I say that based on them saying “are we not men? We are devo”. The theory of evolution says that we come from monkeys. The song states that we are monkeys but we are trying to cover that by dressing up, having jobs and other things we normally do. It says that god made us by using monkeys and that we can prove it because we can imitate them just like how they can imitate us. We have a lot in common with apes but because we are supposed to be evolutionizing, shouldn’t that be a bad thing? With the constantly bad things that humans do in this world, whether it’s adultery or other dehumanizing things, there is no possible way we are going through evolution. We are turning into something that’s less of a man. I would like to believe that this music video challenges the belief of evolution and how humans act on a day to day basis. Television is easy to watch because it easily tells you what’s going on in whatever you may be watching. With this video, you have to try and comprehend the point they are trying to prove, which is that we humans are regressing.

Motherly Fragments
It is hard to figure out how you feel and what you need when you are constantly mothering something. I sometimes suspect that mothering itself is an inhumane framing of reproductive world-making. What is motherhood? Devotion? Sacrifice? Projection of hope? An unpaid 24/7 side job? Self-harm in the name of care? Consumption of one’s body for another? Transmission of cultural systems? Why mother when you don’t have the “capacity”, when you “struggle” as well, when it feels like too much, and when you are told that mothering anything unconventional is unwise? A happy mom, a complaining mom, a fatigued mom, a tiger mom, a caring mom, etc…… I fail to see a form of motherhood that nurtures the mom. And the world as we know it is too readily dismissive and resentful of motherly labor. When you try to mother something, the object is almost always chillingly cold to you because it is never a reciprocal relationship. When you are mothered, you always feel pressured to pay back the mounting debt you owe to whoever is mothering you, and it is perhaps easier to flee and ghost. But perhaps mothering is not supposed to be transactional or bi-directional. Perhaps thinking in circles instead of linearity would help. Again a quote from Braiding Sweetgrass:
“So it is my grandchildren who will swim in this pond, and others whom the years will bring. The circle of care grows larger and care-giving for my little pond spills over to caregiving for other waters. The outlet from my pond runs downhill to my good neighbor’s pond. What I do here matters. Everybody lives downstream. My pond drains to the brook, to the creek, to a great and needful lake. The water net connects us all. I have shed tears into that flow when I thought that motherhood would end. But the pond has shown me that being a good mother doesn’t end with creating a home where just my children can flourish. A good mother grows into a richly eutrophic old woman, knowing that her work doesn’t end until she creates a home where all of life’s beings can flourish. There are grandchildren to nurture, and frog children, nestlings, goslings, seedlings, and spores, and I still want to be a good mother.”

The modern-colonial construction of the science and history of motherhood is one of naturalized pain. The scientific Subject looks at motherly pain as tragic abjection. Evolutionally speaking, it seems like relative reproductive success conditions parenthood to either self-deception or unwellness. Earlier this quarter I showed my Bio Anthro students clips of the video “Animals that Got the Middle Finger from Evolution” from Casual Geographic. This, I think, gives us a clear idea of what an evolution-based biological science means to rethink and decolonize modern parenthood. If harms are natural, there is nothing to be done. Just to give us two examples from the video: Kiwi eggs that oversize the mother’s body (left below) and hyena that are designed to experience excruciating pain for giving birth (right below).
Tumblr media
I am not a mom to any human being, and I do not plan to be. But mothering is something that I will commit to, and sometimes it is overwhelming. Part of me has been wondering if this evolutionary-scientific naturalization (and justification) of motherly pain spills over to the science of social reproduction (sociology, political science, history, anthropology, etc.). This reminds me of the painful chapter, “Midwife”, in Gail Hershatter’s The Gender of Memory: Rural Women and China’s Collective Past. In there the author presents numerous oral accounts of midwifery testimonials, sometimes disturbingly without trigger warning and proper political sensitivity for the representation of subaltern pain. Back in 2018 when I first read the book, there was a deep sense of discomfort with her text, which I suppressed and silenced in my own head as “just a weird jealousy about a prominent white female scholar documenting the humiliating sufferings of Chinese rural women, whom I share a deep intimacy and kinship with, while having her self-respect and dignity intact”. I revisited the chapters when I taught it for my 2023 summer course on memory and the Mao era. I included it in my syllabus as this is one of the most celebrated texts on gender and Chinese subalternity in academia. Perhaps because most students in that course were high schoolers or early undergrads, who are not immersed in the PRC history literature, their political intuition about these texts shock me as way more explanatory and generative that most expert talks. The students were very sensitive about positionality and raised important questions about the ethics of doing oral history in a context that’s not your own. This allows me to reflect on my previous unsettledness in reading this text and the deeply modern-colonial narrativity involved in well-meaning (white and/or Han elite) feminist scholarly practices. All of these are tied back to da Silva’s transparency thesis, the Subject position that the historian assumes in telling the stories of the Other.
Tumblr media
Note that to critique the narrative as modern-colonial is not to throw it out of the window or situate myself outside of it, but to read it with a specific vision of undoing epistemic violences and adopting restorative emplotment. My eyes were caught by the following fragments, the first one in the main text, the second in the endnotes. It is such a bizarre absence as these testimonies were simply presented without any mentioning of indigeneity and coloniality in the politics of Chineseness and/or Han-ness. And I wonder if the individual-based approach to oral history severely compromised the centrality of magical maternal relationality in all these women’s stories of care and community in midwifery practices.
“Anxiu told us, even women undergoing terribly difficult labor would insist that she deliver their child at home. They said, ‘To be in hospital is not like here, where people take care of us very well.” If she is uncomfortable somewhere, we will massage her. If it is hot like today, we will fan her. We will chat with her. We will wipe her brow. In the hospital, you are just put in bed and left alone, because they do things according to plan. They only show up when you are ready to deliver the baby. So people say, ‘It is not as good as having a child at home. And it costs so much money.” (168)
“A recurring theme in the stories of several midwives involves assisting at hospital births when the trained personnel there did not know what to do……Ma Li (interview 1999) told a similar story…….’I was sick that year and I was in hospital. There was a difficult labor in the hospital. There were a young man and a woman. They couldn’t tell what was going on and just pressed on the woman. It seemed soft. I said, ‘The bottom of the baby is coming out first. It is hard. The soft thing you touched is the anus.’ The doctor scolded me, ‘What do you know about this!’ That baby was like that when it came out. They said, ‘How did you know it is like this?” I smiled and said, ‘I learned it. See how puzzled you were! You pressed here and there.” (354)
Tumblr media
Motherhood as pain and unrequited love is something we all experience, under modernity-coloniality, when we engage in any kind of care work. The resentment and burnout common in organizing spaces need not be reiterated, but I do think it is important to radically rethink movement affects and community building through the lens of colonized motherhood and care. While my body is drained and singled out by this care and gathering work that is “much needed”, “inspiring”, “nurturing”, and/or “appreciated”, I sit in this utter aloneness, sadness, and low self-esteem like an empty nested mom. Unwellness is the systematic side effect of motherhood and care, and as I give permission to my body in, following Toni Morrison, “deliberately going mad in order not to lose my mind” (p.18 in How to Go Mad Without Losing Your Mind), I want to make new mistakes instead of repeating old ones. Old mistakes include feeling unappreciated, being overcome by self-importance, using one child as an excuse for ignoring others, turning my care away from other mothers, preoccupying myself with others’ lack of accountability and mistakes, seeking to fix others, obsessive and excessive check-ins with my “children” who can use some alone time, over-investment in unreceptive objects out of fear, guilt, and shame, devaluing others’ carework done for me, withdrawal from my own caregivers, performing deep emotions amidst collective apathy, depriving rest and regulation from myself due to unconscious need to fulfill violent notions of motherhood and deservingness, and more.
Tumblr media
I want to end this entry by remembering my maternal grandma, Liqin, with whom I had a very rough relationship when I was young. I always thought of her as a female model that I would like to distant myself from. Too motherly, too quiet, too content, too uncritical, too passive, and too much of an image of femininity our Teochewese culture and everyone around me wanted to mold me into. When I was about 8 or 9, I gave her a really hard time when she came over to stay with us in the city. She liked to follow me everywhere in my parents’ house to stay close to me. It somehow annoyed me so much that I had to passive-aggressively run away wherever she was. She later told my mom, who turned to me with tears asking why I would display such cruelty to my own grandma. I had no answer, albeit filled with shame mixed with self-disappointment. I tried to make my mom happy by not distancing myself from grandma, but I still could not bring myself to embrace her grandmotherly image, perhaps out of the impulse to protect myself from the conscription of it. As a result, I cannot say I have ever had a profound conversation or interaction with her despite seeing her frequently for the first 20 years of my life. She left us forever before I even learned about her name, as she was always just “grandma” to us. I took the photo above in 2014, when I saw her for the last time, in our village, Koi1-tao5, that I visited weekly growing up. She passed away soon after this. It is hard to say if cancer took her from us, or the polluted river processing tons of electronic waste from the West did, or over 60 years of thankless motherhood was the killer. The village is perhaps not “ours” anymore, as the river weeps in chemical pollutions, the mountain maimed by industrial excavation, ancestors aged by generational cycles, and families displaced by urbanization and governmental land-grabbing. Maybe it is too late to want to hold her hands, apologize, and sit with her. But such is my maternal ancestor who continuously teaches me what mothering means in unimaginable ways.

It is customary to present American philosophy as an additional chapter of English philosophy, or to find the main chapters scattered in works of
psychology
logic
sociology
The novelty of Mr. Deledalle's work would suffice in itself to define all its usefulness. But in this 220-page book, there is
much more than a collection of miscellaneous information drawn from scattered sources
[but rather] a whole original work of synthesis
After an introduction in which are located the great historical influences that have been exerted on American philosophy (
theory of knowledge
Hegelianism
evolutionism
), the author defines the currents which are, in their mobility, so many constants of this philosophy:
pragmatism
neorealism
naturalism
idealism
– Michel Foucault, Review: History of American Philosophy. From the Civil War to World War II. Deledalle (Gérard), from Cahier de L'Herne N°95 : Foucault, Dirigé par Philippe Artières, Jean-François Bert, Frédéric Gros et Judith Revel

History of Photography Timeline
Tumblr media
Photography has evolutionized over the years and has improved in quality of photos, storage, and the many modes to choose from based on the photo we want. Many inventions have been made and modified the past two centuries that have made a huge impact on society. From cameras that are the size of our heads, to hand held cameras that have the same quality, to cameras that release a photo to finally having a camera attached to a smartphone with nearly equal quality as a high quality Camera. Speaking of which, a phone-camera impresses me a lot. The fact that in just a click of a button and just adding HDR can give me such a good quality photo impresses me. Another invention that impresses me a lot is a polaroid camera. Finally, a camera that impresses me the most as well are compact cameras.
Phone-camera images (on my phone at least) end up looking really crispy and detailed, especially once HDR is added to it. It does have an impact on me because all of the photos in my instagram highlights are images that I have taken on my camera (my Mexico highlight do look a little blurry because I used snapchat as my camera). I enjoy taking sky pictures, so it's great to have my phone on me when I see a beautiful sky and have it as a memory. Polaroid pictures also have an impact on me because I love having to keep a film when a picture is taken. Keeping a film always bring memories to when the picture was taken with loved ones, so polaroid cameras do have an impact on me (I also look great on the pictures, so I prefer a picture taken on one lol). Finally, compact cameras have a great impact on me because even as a small camera, they deliver such nice and crispy images. My sister has one, over 10 years old and still have such nice and detailed images, the pictures she takes on her travels looks nearly as nice as a picture taken on a new iPhone. Overall, photography is my favorite work of art, and respect the evolution is has gone to deliver amazing images.

Artificial Intelligence enabled technology is already prevalent in other spaces such as commercial and entertainment across platforms that engage and connect with people on a multi-sensory level. In lighting, the interactive LED technology has been mostly realized through music-to-light mapping – driving light fixtures based on musical input, and motion sensor technology – operating light fixtures based on movement detection. Besides these, there is a great potential for other interactive data inputs such as voice recognition and data streams (from live inputs such as weather patterns).
