[Csm oc] Hina and Mayura

A while back my friend Ash sent me an ask where i rambled about what these two would be doing during the main story of csm. Recently i read part 1 again to really organize my thoughts on this, so here's fhe full rundown of Hina and Mayura's participation during the public safety saga!

Eternity devil arc

-Mentioned during the welcoming party at the end of the arc. Fushi tells Aki he didn't bring his fiend to the party he comments how it must be nice to have one as intelligent as his or Akiyama's, which prompts that one brown haired girl to ask if the two are coming, to which Aki replies that Hina refused since she doesn't drink. Another guy on the table adds that "Himeno must have scared her off" and Himeno just brushes it off saying that Hina would just ruin the mood, she's just no fun.

Katana man arc

-Mentioned as having survived the attack on the 4th division when Aki asks Denji who else is still alive upon waking up in the hospital, when recalling the facts Denji refers to them as "Some blondie with a fiend". He also tells Aki she was the one who left the basket of apples in his hospital room.

-In the climax of the arc Hina is assigned to keep an eye on and coordinate the non-human members, Mayura, Beam, Cherry, Galgali, Princi and Angel, during the fight against the zombies. Also serving as a first measure in case any of the devils/fiends tries to escape into the city, as she has the go from higher ups to kill them if they do so.

-Mayura and Beam are competing to see who can kill more zombies, she bites Galgali during the excitement and gets punched by him in retaliation.

-Hina spots Angel talking to Aki and approaches them, as Angel takes the terrorist outside she talks to Aki before he proceeds to fight Akane. Hina tells him she's heard he made a contract with the future devil and tells Aki that while it may not seem like much those powers can be incredibly useful if you know how to use it efficiently.

Bomb girl arc

-She wishes him goid luck on the mission before returning to her post as Aki climbs the building.

-Mayura and Hina are watching the sparring matches at the 2nd division training facility, Mayura cheers for whoever is winning.

-She asks Hina if she remembers when they would spar in the woods and the two reminisce about their time before joining public safety, with Mayura suggesting they should spar again for old time's sake. Hina asks her how much could those even be considered sparring when she had the intention of killinger her before joining public safety, Mayura laughts it off saying that she'd never be able to kill her.

-Later the girls catch up with Aki and Angel devil in the hallways, after their conversation about Aki being dead 2 years from now. Hina compliments Aki's performance on the spar matches and asks him if he also likes coming back to the training facility to reminisce about the time working there.

-She then asks Aki his reasons for leaving the 2nd division but before he can answer they are interrupted by Nomo telling them about Beam and Denji's arrival.

-This leads to Aki asking her why she left the 2nd division to which Hina explains it was for Mayura. She tells him how the two have known each other from before becoming devil hunters, how their contract was made as a way for Mayura to help her even if they're apart, and how she became a fiend so that they could be together again. Hina feels that joining division 4 so they could become partners was the least she could do after Mayura gave up being the Wolf devil just for her, adding that devils are capable of caring for others to an extent much greater than most think they're capable of.

-As Reze approaches the facility Mayura runs up to the gate, she quickly growls and turns to Nomo saying that the girl in front of them reeks of devil scent.

-Hina and Mayura enter the car with Aki, Angel, Beam and Denji and drive off with them as the other devil hunters fight against Reze. When Aki tells the others to give Denji blood Hina promptly offers to do so, saying that she's used to doing this when Mayura needs it during missions. She rolls back one of her sleeves revealing her arm to be full of self-inflicted scars as she opens a new cut using her sword. Mayura proudly tells Denji that this will be the best blood he'll ever taste.

-As Reze begins catching up with the car Mayura transforms into battle form and opens a hole in the car ceiling for her and Hina to jump out of and attack Reze. Hina uses the future devil's powers to see when Reze will explode and react accordingly by dodging her attacks by using her swords + the wolf devil's powers to launch Reze far back with each swing so that she's out of explosion range. Mayura does something similar using her howls and barks, they're essentially trying to push Reze back for as long as they can to give Denji time to recover, though Hina attacks more offensively as she wants to kill the Bomb devil herself.

-Denji arrives in the scene quickly followed by Aki and the others and things go basically the same as in canon for a bit. As the Typhoon devil shows up and the fight between them and Reze against Beam and Denji starts, Mayura is able to resist being blasted back by the strength of the typhoon and explosions by sinking her claws and teeth into the ground. Hina clings to her as she expresses discontent over not being able to continue fighting.

International assassins arc

-Hina and Mayura are assigned to be a part of Denji's protection team during the threat of the international assassins.

-At the park while Denji argues with Kusakabe over the food that fell on the floor, Mayura groans at the sight. She tells Hina how she misses working on smaller missions where it was just the two of them and Hina says she doesn't particularly enjoy working in large groups either, but if they manage to detain/kill at least one of the assassins that will surely be a big feat on her name and that will make it all worth it. Mayura uh-huhs in response but seems worried over the prospect of fighting trained assassin's from all over the world.

-When the group leaves the burger restaurant, Hina approaches Denji stating he's got quite the name for himself already and proceeds to ask how he feels about it. He says this whole thing is just delaying his vacation with Makima and Hina is disappointed in his response. She tells him to think about it in the grand scheme of things, Denji has now become something bigger than himself, a figure that will be talked about and remembered for years to come. A status that Hina wishes to achieve someday, though Denji really doesn't get what she's saying and just gets confused.

-The group meets up with Kobeni, Galgali and the fake Kurose. Mayura follows Power as she enters Kobeni's car saying that Power is lying and can't drive while Power insists that the car is hers and that she can, Kobeni is caught in the middle of the fiend's argument, much to her dismay.

-When Power rams the car into Denji and the imposter, the initial silence of the event is broken by Mayura's laugh as she boasts about being right that Power can't drive for shit. She later proceeds to get angry at Powers again when she starts bragging that she saw through the disguise and intentionally ran over the guy.

-When the squad gets attacked by the dolls in the department store Mayura stays behind as the others go up to the second floor, she transforms and uses the synchronized howling with her 3 wolf heads to push the dolls back, keeping most of them from getting closer to the group.

-Quanxi speeds up the building and all of Mayura's heads get sliced off alongside the dolls and hunters. She falls on the floor, tail still intact, meaning she was not killed instantly and is instead in the process of bleeding out on the floor. (Mayura's tail works the same as one of her heads)

-Once Quanxi reaches the group Aki, Angel and Hina are able to block her attacks but get knocked to the floor.

-As Quanxi goes to stab Yoshida, Hina swipes at the knife with her sword, knocking it off Quanxi's hand. She gets into a fighting position but before Quanxi attacks the conflict is interrupted by Kishibe holding Pingtsi and Long hostage.

-When the fight starts again, After Kishibe and Aldo are thrown out the window, Hina fights Quanxi. She applies a similar strategy to when she fought Reze, however Quanxi is much stronger so the attacks from her contract with Mayura are not enough to launch her far, at most they can block her attacks if Hina reacts with enough speed and precision. She is able to hold off against her at the start but the more Quanxi hits her the more disoriented Hina gets, opening holes on her defense and making her get progressively more beaten up. The fight ends when Quanxi kicks her out of the window, which leads to Hina landing on Kobeni's broken car and passing out from the extent of her injuries.

-While this was happening Mayura used the remaining of her strength to revert into her base form. This stops the bleeding but she is incredibly weakened and tired from all the blood she's lost, she climbs up the stairs and reaches the second floor in time to see Hina be thrown off the building. She runs over to the broken window and freezes upon the sight of Hina's unconscious body lying over the wreckage of Kobeni's car.

-She snaps back into reality as she sees the dolls approach Hina. Mayura grabs the knife from the floor and jumps down, killing the dolls and proceeding to hold Hina as she yells her name trying to get any response from her partner.

-Being outside the department store neither of them are brought to hell, Mayura watches in horror as the Hell devil abducts everyone in the building.

-Carrying Hina in her arms Mayura runs past Kishibe and Yoshida, overhearing their conversation about Makima in the process.

Gun devil arc

-Aki says Hina is hospitalized and Mayura is on the run when he states the fates of the people who were involved in the previous mission to Denji.

-Mayura has been hiding from public safety because she didn't want to be assigned another partner and go on missions while Hina is at the hospital, the time not spent hiding is spent going around the hospital and killing any rats and birds around the area.

-With Hina recovering well the topic of being dispatched from the hospital arises, she tells Mayura she hopes to be dispatched in time to fight the gun devil and assures her partner that she's sure Makima would let her back in if they explain things to her, Mayura says she doesn't want any of them to go back to the bureau.

-She tells Hina the events of the last mission were the first time she felt truly afraid and that if they go against the Gun devil neither of them will survive, she knows that Hina fears dying more than anything and begs her to quit the division. A progressively distressed Hina tells her that she can do it, she needs to do it, she has to be there, otherwise once she does die nobody will remember her. Tears roll down her face as Hina struggles to utter that she doesn't want to die as a nobody bound to be forgotten.

-Mayura calls Hina an moron and tells her that the life she has now is much more important that if wether of not she will be remembered once she's gone, and that even if people don't remember her, that doesn't mean her life was meaningless. But if it helps, Mayura herself will be there to remember her for as long as she's alive.

-But she can't handle losing her now, not when she's finally living her dream of having someone by her side. Mayura hugs Hina as she tells her that she needs to live for as long as possible, Hina hugs her back as she starts to calm down.

One of the reasons I love Louis so much and love his music is that I had some massive loss in my life and I can identify so much with how he tries to just roll up and keep going but when you have given so much of yourself to something that you forget who you are without it. I was the carer for my Gran and when I lost her and got my own apartment it was like I had to discover what my taste was, like what bits were mine and which were hers. It took years. Then I got a corporate job a couple of years ago and had to leave the house every day and I realized that I didn't actually like the way I dressed. Like how much of my style was what was available vs fit vs practical in an I need to be able to cook, clean, and change a diaper at any moment. That also took about a year of trial and error. I cannot IMAGINE having to do that so thoroughly in the public eye like that

When I hyped Ben C so much like crazy, I haven't do it ever. And it's really short; like 5 years.

But, Diego Luna, 7 years and I think it must be longer or even the rest of my life.

Nevertheless, the obstacle is my jobs for living. If I were a uni girl, I would have done it for sure.

The point is, I'm older now 😅😅😅 I can't live like a uni girl forever. Once, I thought being grown-up must be misery, boring and lifeless - but I was wrong. Being grown-up have many advantages. Especially with my mum and my older brother; they don't being too much control on my life like I was younger. (Asian family thing. Like 'Turning Red' animation.) My dad? Never. Even if he was the Cantonese from Hong Kong. (Blesssed his soul. He was the best dad in the world. He always wanted a daughter, because all of his sons with his first wife are 'undependable'. (Except the 1st and the 3rd brother.)

My dad always said to me that I could study and learn everything I can, as long as I accept to look after my mum like he had always did. I have accepted his words. And after I have graduated, I can for years, until the pandemic arrived. I lost all my saving money. I had about 300 TH Baht in bank account. I became miserable woman who must depend on her mum's welfare. The worst is my mental health was falling down rapidly in endless abyss. (I have DD and AD before the pandemic arrived.) In mid 2021, I attemped suicides several times, but luckily, my vengeance (do not be like me) for the current government and their beyond-evil-minions is keeping me alive. Also, many books, films, shows, games and musics too. But the big motivation is my mum, my brothers, my BFFs, good friends around me, my doctor and my therapists. They suggest me to choose hope, not despair; life is not easy and not hard. It's about how one live; moving on, setting the boundaries (my older sister by bond has said that I was too kind toward everybody. She always advices me to be less kind, or others will take chances on me) and choosing what is goid for the soul - not ego.

I admit that I come back to my sense for only 6 months. At first, I couldn't bare the truth that I'm 30s and I can't work like the way before. But, luckily, I still've got something in my brain. So, let this post be my new year resolution.

This year, I'm gonna get better. Going beyond current state. Finishing a non-fiction, a novel and a TH fan fiction. Be my better self. Be kind, but with more boundaries. Get rich. And supporting the human rights' movement, especially, in Thailand for democracy, eqaullity (gender and class), justice, freedom and liberty.

All is said and done, I'm gonna settle my life in my own line first, before everything.

I've got to second these tags, and the tree was happy is amazing! One of my favorite ace attorney fics I've ever read, it's so sharp and angry and biting for the first few chapters but it just makes things feel all the better when the resolution comes, like it's been actually earned. Link here, please go read it!

Y'know, in fanfics where they have the "Trucy and Apollo are siblings" reveal, the authors tend to make Trucy excited and Apollo be confused and angry. And like, yeah, fair, but—

I think Trucy deserves to be a little angry. She should be upset about this yet another drop in the bucket of the shittiness that is the Gramaryes. She should be angry on behalf of Apollo too!

She already as a character is established to try and hide her true feelings under a facade of cheeriness. I think that should be explored more in this situation, where she feels like she cannot show how angry and upset she actually is.

Meanwhile, we've seen how Apollo reacted when Dhurke came back into his life. He was pushing him away, straight up trying to suppress his feelings and refusing to have proper emotions about it until he literally almost drowns. He hates talking about or thinking about his life and himself. I know he has shown to often get angry, but I personally think that in a reveal, depending on how it goes, he will refuse to think about it, try to ignore the conflicted feelings bubbling up (canonically, he had never even thought about his bio dad until he was given the photo of Jove, so I imagine he feels the same way about his mother up until she is given a face in his mind).

Both Trucy and Apollo are both more concerned about how the other feels than about themselves. And what this means to their family.

AlSo the villains?? ICONIC. Hisoka and Illumi? The best god damn murduos set of CANON husbands in the series and I would pay top dollar to see that wedding

During last years inktober, I had a theme which was "quick fanarts" where every piece was a maximum 30 min drawing of a fanart. Did lots of fanart of webcomics, including 32'Kickup, Maiz, Jasper Gold. Just to name a few. I'm thinking of doing it again this year, since it was a lot of fun.

I unfortunately don't get to do as much fanart as I'd like. Drawing is difficult for me, and it's a lot of front-end time to 3D model a character who I'm not going to render that often. So... pretty much all the fanart I do is part of the #fanwork_initiative lol. At The Disco because it was one of the first songs that I heard that was supportive of LGBT people and seeing Brendon Urie with a rainbow flag just helped me feel safe. Panic was also the first band that I ever saw in concert and Brendon played that song and I remember almost crying because there were people singing along to it at the venue and it was just really heartwarming.

- Uh...I’ll have to skip this one, I’m very selective of what I watch, so I haven’t watched anything that bad xP Well, Boruto is sort of a let down, I’m not sure is it that necessary to continue the Naruto franchise.

- I don’t want to wage shipwars, so I just say that I’m not feeling Ginkagu or Shinkagu because they feel like a family to me, just like Okikagu feels only like rivalry/friendship to others : ) I can respect that. Also incest ships aren’t my thing.

- Gintama (Sadaharu’s sacrifice...I fucking cried like a baby and screamed at my laptop, Shoguns death...I was shocked...utterly shocked)

22. Age you started watching anime/person who introduced you to it.

- I was 6 years old when Pokémon began airing as a children’s show, that’s my first step. Then I watched Naruto and Gintama on-off in my teens.

When I was 20 years old I dived into anime head first. I binged Naruto in like three months...I just ate it up. All the characters were familiar to me and I had always wanted to watch it from beginning to end. I also binged Inuyasha and ATLA (I know it’s not anime, I just love it so much!).

I had Naruto and my husband had One Piece. I wanted something to watch together and I Gintama popped into my mind (like hey! It was mad funny. I had only seen like three episodes but it stuck with me). Then we began to watch it binged it together from beginning to Farewell Shinsengumi Arc and now we are here...waiting for the end.

Also Attack on Titan is something we watch together. #bingewatch

23. Unpopular character you love.

- Uh...I don’t know. I’m a sucker for a pretty face and they tend to be the popular ones. So I don’t know : D

24. Popular character you hate.

- Hate is a strong word, but I’m not that hyped about Takasugi Shinsuke from Gintama, but I DO NOT HATE HIM! Just not my favorite : )

25. Anime you would recommend to someone who hates anime.

- I’ll always answer Gintama. For someone who hates anime, must have some sort of ideas of anime and why they hate it. Maybe some hate the ridiculous boobs or they just don’t get it. Well, Gintama doesn’t have gigantic boobs on every character and it’s okay if you don’t like anime, Gintama apparently hates every anime out there too.

- I don’t read manga but have read one called Cherry Juice

27. Anime you plan to watch in the future

- Oh my god! If I had the time I would definitely watch these:

- Yuri on Ice! (I know, shame on me for not watching it...I know), Free!, Black Butler, FMA (I’ve watched couple of episodes here and there, but not from beginning to end), Boku no Hero Academia (I already know I’m gonna love that red and white haired boy...Todoroki? And I already ship him with that black haired girl, Momo was it?), Persona 5 the anime when I find the binge time : ))), there are a lot of interesting ones out there, but here’s already quite a bunch for me (to fill the hole in my heart when Gintama ends)

28. Most upsetting moment in anime and why?

- Attack on Titan: So many horrible moments, but I SCREAMED when that one titan ate Erwin’s arm. The death of Squad Levi, The fucking first episode a.k.a. the death of Carla.

- Gintama: I got chills when Utsuro first appeared, everyone were so serious (even Sougo and Kagura, I remeber their eyes forever), the moments when Utsuro nearly killed Gintoki (first fight), Yamazaki (second fight) and Shinpachi (first fight), the moment when Utsuro’s mask broke, oh my god Gintoki’s face!!!, and when Sadaharu literally began to disappear (my heart hurts just by thinking about it), Shoguns assassination (I still can’t believe it)

29. Anime that deserves another season.

- Gintama xD hehe. I think Maid Sama! I would have loved to see it till the end. Sakamoto desu ga absolutely and The Devil is a Part-Timer! These short gems deserve so much more!

30. One anime conclusion you would change.

- Okay, I haven’t watched Bleach, BUT my husband has and for him, I would end Bleach with Aizen arc and make Ichigo and Rukia the canon couple.

- Also, Sorachi-sensei...Imma gonna have to change my answer on this one if you don’t make Okikagu canon...pretty please!

Harvest Moon Revisited

To ease my loneliness and boredom I decided to play some Harvest Moon DS ... and also talk about it.

I got Harvest Moon DS when I saw one of my friends playing it. It had a really nice pixel style and a relaxing atmosphere. I really enjoyed the game as a kid ... the only problems were ... well, I got bored after being fed up with not getting any progress.

The mines were tge worst; deep as fck, really difficult to handle for a child aaaaand not to mention not a good weapon to deal with dem monsters. Stamina was my biggest problem, I always got knocked out before I got anything near far.

Revisiting and being extra prepared I managed to beat the second mine and get the legendary sword in Winter of the first year. Next up will be the third and fourth will be tackled in the next year, now that I can cook some food.

Not to mention trying to get a girl. How much time I spend trying to get a girl to the red heart and shoving her a feather into her face. over and over again ... before realizing that I needed the Harvest Goddess to be saved first.

Which brings me to the Harvest Sprites. They are a really good mechanic of the game, helping the player with gathering wood and stone and watering crops ... though trying to save at least the minimum is hard as it is without a guide and saving one specific can be game breaking.

One really easy Sprite can be saved by putting an item into your horses bags. Easy, right? Nope. You better save your game before doing that, because with a bit of bad luck you can end up riding the air, while your horse runs around without you. Or you start pushing invisible animals around, not being able to stop.

Another glitch happened to me years back where a chicken got stuck in the door frame ... the only way to get it out was selling it. Not even Festivals could save the little guy.

And as a whole the game feels ... unfinished? Food slides into your hands from off screen, events jump-cut into frame, the big crops are just simply the small crop sprites from your inventory scaled up, pets get stuck on furniture when those get placed into your house, etc.

It might just be me, but playing HMDS makes me anxious on every decision and action I take, more on the thought of breaking my gane or future events.

Since then, however, I'm looking for another, goid Harvest Moon that can replicate that feeling HMDS gave me when I was young.

... lemme say every one was disappoining. Sure, I never played any other HM, but I looked at every single one I could find. I'm not a big fan of the 3D games, it looks difficult to manage a free 3D space and the graphics looked ... uninspired.

I watched the trailer for the newest one for the Switch and I just could shake my head. Semi-3D, that's fine, but with such blant environments and animations and to be honest? I'll get myself Stardew Valley instead.

Maybe I'll get myself the new HM later, but Stardew Valley is much more fun, much more fair and looks much nicer. It gives me the same vibes I had from Harvest Moon as a kid and so much more now.

Welp, all that aside, let's see how far I can get in HMDS before I go insane :'D
