Now this year had an example of IP that had new entries but shouldn’t.

There was the Universal Studios attempt to restart the Exorcist franchise by continuing the story with Ellen Burnstyn and Linda Blair after 50 years.

Here however, we come to the Expendables and a pseudo 4th entry that only made people realize they should have ended things with 2.

Jason Stratham is good we all know this, but in a series with Stallone leading a mercenary team comprised of action heroes, suddenly shifting things to having Statham and Megan Fox as the leads in a revolving door of support makes people realize how much this should not have been assembled as the 4th Expendables movie.

When a film is treated more along the lines of what Oceans 8, and that Always Sunny Gang Beats Boggs Ladies Reboot episode that parodies this type of movie, something was lost along the way.

SUM 22: A soft reboot in the guise of Stallone’s unexpected franchise crashes thanks to the character and creative direction this would undertake.
