I haven't yet seen a post about jod’s eclipse eyes. so I’m making one. bc I would love to hear any other interpretations or meta thoughts

(big spoilers after the photo for The Locked Tomb/Nona the Ninth)

jod’s eyes = black eye with a ring of bright white around the iris. total solar eclipse = black sky with a ring of white light around the moon’s silhouette

since realizing this visual parallel I have been certain this is why the eyes are like that. seeing as how they are actually the eyes of alecto’s soul

and like. our eclipses being a really unique phenomenon bc of the distances and sizes of the earth moon and sun. and it’s her view onto the other two celestial bodies most connected to her, the sun she orbits and the moon who orbits her

I have many unformed analyses of the thematic implications of this, and maybe I’ll come back with a proper reading, but overall I think it’s a really fucking cool answer to “what would the eyes of a planet be?”

big thank you to @buddhamethods for starting this. I thought it sounded like a fun idea and just had to participate because I have Opinions™ :)

I am hitting some of these characters with only the best intentions and some of them out of pure spite

1) Shin (Bake Me Please)

if you've seen me post about this show or if you've seen it yourself, you know exactly why this guy is on here and also why he's the main reason why I just had to join in on this trend

2) Way (Pit Babe)

listen I love him. after all if evil why pretty? but he's also a b*tch and he deserves to get hit by a car a little. as a treat. he's my pathetic little meow meow and I love to see him suffer (affectionate) <3

I'm also doing this as a public service so that Babe and Charlie can stay in their weird mama & papa boyfriends era without Way pulling his mind fuckery tricks on Babe

3) Kim (Kinnporsche)

hitting him with my car very lovingly simply bc he made Chay sad and we can't have that. maybe a little car accident can get him to actually admit that he's head over heels in love.

(and also because this man is way too pretty and I need to confirm that he's actually human)

4) Top (Only Friends)

listen. I believe that all of the Only Friends characters deserve to get hit by a car a little. all of them. but this man dared to say that he was serious and then went ahead and slept with someone else so. there's that.

5) Xue Yang (The Untamed/MDZS)

the most evil fucker for absolutely no reason. completely irredeemable. has the world's worst reason for being evil. I love him so much.

this guy is so fucked up that he managed to spend 3 years being all domestic with his nemesis only to realize that he actually developed feelings for him after he had already caused his death

there is absolutely no way to fix him but I'm still hitting him with my car for the amount of emotional damage he caused me with those god damn pieces of candy

6) Akk (The Eclipse)

I love him to bits and that is exactly why I'm knocking him tf out. very lovingly and rather softly but enough to give him some time off. because he deserves a break from all of the absolutely godawful authority figures in his life and what they're putting him through

7) August (Last Twilight)

this fucking b*tch.

I don't think I need to explain why I'm coming at him full speed. this is an act of public service, your honor, I'm doing nothing wrong.

8) Phee (Dead Friend Forever)

okay I know we've only had him for one single episode but this man is already stressing me out with the way he just threw away his cigarette bud in the middle of a god damn forest. sir what are you doing.

I'm only preserving the environment by hitting him with my car and getting him out of that forest, really

after @buddhamethods already took care of Zee (thank you for your service), I am volunteering to take out their mom. this woman needs the world's biggest wake-up call and since her own damn son ending up in a hospital didn't seem to do the trick, maybe herself ending up there will help

10) GramBlack double feature (Not Me)

the absolute audacity of these men to not be in love? after all of that?? I'm hitting them with my car because maybe ending up in hospital beds next to each other will finally get someone to admit that that G did not stand for Eugene what the actual fuck

sorry hot take or smth but this's a man who has been looking for clues of his friend's death for a decade and holding a grudge and dragging around living corpses of at least 2 former order members for that purpose, he is just barely hiding that he's not normal, like i feel he wouldn't just nonchalantly accept this? like where did all the intensity and gravitas go? point no. 46339 of why trios just don't sit right w me. some1 is always shafted in some way.

I watched the Eclipse. it was great

I have fewer notes than for PitBabe, but I still have some.

The queer coffee shop was wonderful! And we did not get enough of it!! Also I want one exactly like that in my city.

Akk and Ayan made me understand for the first time the whole "you're pretty when you cry" thing. Boy is Ayan pretty when he cries. What the hell mate. Seriously. I always thought it was weird and now I understand it and it's still weird!

When they come out to Akk's parents. That was. Aaaahhhh! This was the scene that had me squeaking out loud and getting all flustered! The sheer relief in both of their postures, I swear! And the teasing afterward! Instantly welcoming him into the family! AAArgizrkjv!!! This is why I watch queer shows okay. the cute couples and all are great, but this, this is why I watch queer shows (also the coffee shop).

I was expecting them to disband the entire Prefect club to be honest. A bit disappointed they didn't. But at least Akk stepped down. Which was absolutely necessary for his mental health! I'm of the opinion every one should have changed school but hey, that would have contradicted the point of the show, so I understand.

For the first half of the show Ayan felt like a communist character in an American show. I understand it's because we're from Akk's perspective but it was still very funny. That been said, he's pretty good at it. Like yes he reads George Orwell and can quote Montesquieu, but he's also part of the local queer community (the coffee shop), and he helps people around him as soon as he can. Like one of the first things he does (aside from provoking Akk) is helping Thua, the only out gay guy in their class, communicate with this mother, and showing him a place where he can get support and understanding. Like yes he's here to shed light to what happened to his uncle, but he's not neglecting the community around him in the meantime and that's great! Ayan is my baby and i am very proud of him! Though I think he could have profited from asking for help from said community. But overall, his uncle raised him well.

I wished we had gotten a discussion between Akk and Kan about coming to term with your sexuality and admitting to it in public. Those two were going through similar journeys at the same time, there is wasted potential here.

I am not entirely satisfied with the end of the show plot-wise? Like on the emotional side it works (mostly, we're missing the reconciliation between Kan and Thua), but plot-wise I'm only half convinced. Not sure how to explain it though?

I did stopped throughout the show on multiple occasions for second-hand embarrassment reasons. It is probably at least half because they're teenagers, and it does not say anything about the quality of the show (it mostly says things about my emotional fatigue), but it was a bit annoying.

Overall a pretty good show about how evil institutions can push great people to do terrible things. And I fell in love with the main couple (might watch other shows with those two, I understand they're quite popular)!

Honestly? I didn’t mind bringing back Ian Holm as an android in Alien: Romulus. The main thing that bothered me was that the CGI looked off.

I think that should’ve just made a busted up animatronic version of Holm and used the same voice technology to replicate his voice. Bishop was entirely an animatronic in Alien 3, and that effect still looks pretty good imo. A similar thing could’ve worked here and would’ve been in line with all the other practical effects A:R used

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman dies at 82

Joe Lieberman, the first Jewish vice-presidential nominee of a major party, whose conscience and independent streak later led him on a journey away from his home in the Democratic Party, has died at 82, according to a statement from his family.

The former Connecticut senator passed away Wednesday due to complications from a fall in New York. His wife Hadassah and members of his family were by his side.

The peak of Lieberman’s political career came when he was chosen by Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore in 2000 as his running mate. The disputed election was eventually decided by the Supreme Court in favor of then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush. Lieberman had hailed his selection as a historic breakthrough for Jewish Americans.

On many issues, like abortion and economic policy, Lieberman was a mainstream Democrat. And he will be remembered as one of the last major statesmen of an era when true bipartisanship felt possible in Washington, before today’s polarized times...........see more
