Charles' "you're stuck with me" line hits so much more when you get to the realisation: he has spent his last hours with a stranger kind enough for him to decide "I'm not ready to move on" — not from his general life, but from Edwin.
What if it turned out Edwin was just passing by, on his way to Heaven and Charles wasn't, for whatever reason? Charles would beg Death on his knees for forgiveness — whether he thought himself deserving of eternal peace or not. On the off chance Edwin was dragged down to Hell before his face? Please, he would jump right after, no hesitation, and they would cling to each other for decades until their inevitable escape, both convinced such a good soul could never belong there.
The pure coincidence of Edwin choosing to run from Death for the foreseeable future already decided Charles' fate. He really would end up wherever Edwin went.

i just got my library card renewed after a very long time - do you know what all i can do with it other than taking out books? because i know there's more things but i feel like it's a silly question to ask
Not at all, and welcome back to the library life! Your millage may vary based on which of these services your library has available, but here's a few things I know of off the top of my head that are pretty common:
The library might have CDs, movies, and even newspapers you can borrow as well
Libby, an app that uses your library card to borrow and download ebooks and audiobooks to enjoy on your mobile device or e-reader
Kanopy, a streaming service for TV shows and movies
Hoopla, which has a whole bunch of stuff like shows & movies, comics, and magazines
Your library might have a makerspace that gives you access to things like 3D printers, button makers, computers with a bunch of Adobe software, ect
Sometimes they host book clubs or other fun community events!
my "#library guides" tag also has a number of posts about services like these if you'd like some more info. Your library's website should also list what services they offer, and/or you could ask a librarian there. Have fun!

Something I've noticed is that everyone seems to think that the Crowley's Falling timeline is definitely:
> Angel!Crowley finds out about the 6000y expiration date
> goes to put his questions to the Almighty
> immediately gets thrown 10 million miles into a lake of boiling sulphur.
But I don't think this tracks with other things that Crowley says about hanging around with the wrong people, sauntering vaguely downwards, here comes Lucifer and the guys ...
Tumblr media
I think it's far more likely that it went something more like this:
> Angel!Crowley finds out about the 6000y expiration date
> goes to put his questions to the Almighty but gets fobbed off by the Metatron
> is dissatisfied by the non-answers he's been given, starts hanging around other angels who also feel dissatisfied (but for different, more mutinous reasons)
> when Lucifer and the guys try to overthrow the system, Crowely gets tarred with the same brush even though he wasn't ever into this whole 'staging a coup' business - he'd just wanted some signatures on his petition to set up a suggestion box
> but the Metatron doesn't care, so down they all go into the boiling sulphur.
Or ... Try this one on for size ... What if when he went to ask his questions, Crowley accidentally overheard/discovered Something Shady going on with the Metatron, quid pro quo he had to be got rid of.
Tumblr media
I guess for this to make sense, Crowley would have to not realise the significance of the Something Shady he'd discovered, but the Metatron can't risk Crowley accidentally revealing it or prying any further (such an inquisitive little angel!) So he manipulates situations to make sure everyone (including Crowley) believes that he was cast out for the 'asking questions' thing - and that it was deserved.
Win-win-win: get rid of the nosey little angel who has the power to bring you down AND make everyone believe that he deserved it INCLUDING the nosey little angel himself!
Tumblr media
Or, if you prefer, Crowley might have had his memory wiped and all he can do is see where the furniture isn't any more.
And now the Metatron knows that Crowely knows about memory wipes. Maybe that's why he has to split up Crowley and Aziraphale, before they start putting the pieces together, which is another reason he has to rush Aziraphale into making a decision.
And maybe that's why he almost gives a sigh of relief when he's finally got Aziraphale in the lift up to Heaven.
Tumblr media
He thinks his secret is safe...
But of course he hasn't reckoned with the relentless enthusiasm of the 'dim one' and her newly acquired reading habit ...

To build all of the solar panels, wind turbines, electric vehicle batteries, and other technologies necessary to fight climate change, we’re going to need a lot more metals. Mining those metals from the Earth creates damage and pollution that threaten ecosystems and communities. But there’s another potential source of the copper, nickel, aluminum, and rare-earth minerals needed to stabilize the climate: the mountain of electronic waste humanity discards each year.
Exactly how much of each clean energy metal is there in the laptops, printers, and smart fridges the world discards? Until recently, no one really knew. Data on more obscure metals like neodymium and palladium, which play small but critical roles in established and emerging green energy technologies, has been especially hard to come by.
Now, the United Nations has taken a first step toward filling in these data gaps with the latest installment of its periodic report on e-waste around the world. Released last month, the new Global E-Waste Monitor shows the staggering scale of the e-waste crisis, which reached a new record in 2022 when the world threw out 62 million metric tons of electronics. And for the first time, the report includes a detailed breakdown of the metals present in our electronic garbage, and how often they are being recycled.
“There is very little reporting on the recovery of metals [from e-waste] globally,” lead report author Kees Baldé told Grist. “We felt it was our duty to get more facts on the table.”

How about we talk about the whole “Metatron, the voice of the god” thing?
Because it’s a bit weird to me. Like no one in Heaven ever questions the fact that only Metatron can talk to the Almighty. To be honest for me it looks like he doesn’t even talk to them anymore; I mean, maybe he did it before, but now it seems like he just pretends to do it.
For example - the first scene of the second season - Crowley creating the universe.
You know, when you’re making a prototype, you’re usually informed about it; I mean, it’s not like you finish a phone, and then someone goes, “Hey, it was actually a prototype, so now I need you to smash it.”
When Azira comes to Crowley and tells him that the universe will be destroyed in 6000 years, he seems surprised, and it feels like he was told something different. He also mentions that he worked very closely with the original creator, who’s supposed to be God. And Crowley is absolutely sure that he can ask a couple questions and maybe even suggest something.
I highly believe that the Almighty themselves ordered Crowley to create the universe, but then Metatron told Azira about Armageddon. But it wasn’t an order from God but something Metatron wanted. He just masked it to sound like Her order. And when Crowley started doubting what Azira told him, he became a threat to Metatron. In the last ep, Metatron says that Crowley asked too many questions, so what if it wasn’t God who threw Crowley out of Heaven, but Metatron?
And if you’re saying, “God wanted Armageddon, they didn’t do anything to stop it!” you’re wrong. If they really wanted Earth to end, they wouldn’t allow Adam to go to the wrong family. And they would punish Crowley and Aziraphale. Which they didn’t do; Heaven and Hell did, but not God. In fact, they sounded way happier that Armageddon didn’t happen at all.
In the book, there is Metatron in the scene with Adam and the horsemen instead of Gabriel. And when Crowley and Angel start to argue with him and Beelzebub, there is a line that says, “said Metatron, but in a worried tone of voice.” While Beelzebub was angry in the book, and both them and Gabriel were annoyed in the show, Metatron was worried. And it wasn’t the type of worry that ineffable bureaucracy had; they were concerned about sending their sides back to work. But Metatron sounded more like he wanted everyone to forget what Crowley and Azira said.
Crowley’s reaction to God talking to Job is also weird.
When Job talks to God, Crowley seems surprised. He says ‘’but just to be able to ask a question’’. Which is weird considering that it was God, as we’re told, that threw him down for questions.
Crowley was downcasted from Heaven, basically, for annoying God, not for plotting something or joining Satan’s friend group, but for asking too many questions. And now we know that those questions were about a project he and Saraqael were working on alongside God, not with Metatron, not Gabriel, but the Almighty Herself. Also, what Crowley suggests, putting Earth in the middle is reasonable. But that’s not the point now.
So according to that our ‘thin dark duke’ wasn’t supposed to be surprised by God talking, it could’ve been Aziraphale, but not Crowley.
That flashback in fact is really important for the storyline and especially for Crowley’s backstory, she has many suspicious lines, like “the same god that wants me to kill children?” which kinda implies that the actual God doesn’t want to kill them but someone who’s pretending to be god is, or, again, the whole dialogue with Aziraphale while god talks. He also stops Sitith from cursing God, while he as a demon shouldn’t have any problems with that, so maybe he didn’t want her to curse not Almighty but Metatron.

Then we have - Saraqael. They are the only character confirmed to have known pre-fall Crowley and known to work with them. (Aziraphale doesn’t count due to him meeting Crowley shortly before his fall and Crowley not even introducing herself.)
But Saraqael is interesting to me also because they’re the only archangel that we see with a disability(I don’t have any problems with the character or actress being disabled; I love that we have representation.); demons have plenty; angels, on the other hand, mostly appear as perfect creatures. But not Saraqael, and them being disabled looks much more interesting once we learn that they’re an archangel who worked with Crowley.
We know that angels didn’t want to send Gabriel to hell because that may have created wrong thoughts among angels. Considering that Saraqael worked on the universe just like Crowley, they would most likely have the same questions as him, but they’re still an angel and haven’t changed their status.
Also, their name is mentioned two or three times and they aren’t treated like an archangel, the way Michael and Uriel talk, or rather they don’t talk, about them really reminds me of the way they talk about Jim. And Gabriel can’t remember their name, although he didn’t have that problem with Sandalfon or Aziraphale, but he has one with his actual colleague? Both Sandalfon and Aziraphale are not archangels, yes they have a high rank but it still doesn’t make them archangels.
Then again, not only do they not tell Michael or Uriel about Crowley, but they tell Muriel to show him the trial.  Why would an angel, especially a high-ranking angel, cover for a demon who’s looking through very important files?
And while Metatron and Crowley have one interaction, things Metabitch says after Crowley leaves are also suspicious in a weird way; while Angel is crushed he tells him that he never really needed Crowley, and then he says “he was always asking damn fool questions” Like, how would you know?? he was talking to God not you.
So my idea is - Metatron isn’t talking to God anymore. I also think that Metatron tried to get rid of God(don’t ask me how I don’t know) and God, knowing damn well about it, ordered Crowley and Saraqael to create the universe, then they created humans so she could hide among them (“And God created man in their own image, in the image of God created they him; male and female created she them.” Genesis 1:27) and ran to earth. They are hiding on earth and waiting for the right moment to come out.

One of the most beautiful things about being a Christian is the fact that I can take my sorrows, my worries, my pain, my joys, my desires, my hope--all of it!--directly to God. And he cares about it. Even when it's small and personal, and even when it's so big I can't deal with it myself. I can take all of it to him, and I know he will take care of it.

#ReleaseOurCrew - Release official physical copies of OFMD (DVD/Blu-Ray)
Tumblr media
I almost didn't watch OFMD because it was on Max, and I hate Max. They've cancelled too many of my favorite shows. So I didn't want to risk giving my money to a service that just kills my favorite shows. They don't care if I pay for their service or not. They still killed OFMD, along with People of Earth (David Jenkin's other tv show) and countless other critically acclaimed shows.
OFMD was one of Max’s most popular shows. If Max doesn't want to give the show a last season, they should at least have DVD/Blu-Ray releases. There’s currently no official DVD release of the show. All I could find are knockoffs on eBay. If OFMD is released on DVD, we get to own a copy of the show forever, and WBD makes money. If they want to make money 😂
I don’t want OFMD and other WBD shows to become lost media when WBD removes shows from Max. If there’s DVDs made of the cancelled shows, then the shows won’t get lost and we can watch the shows forever!

Everyone arguing about Stannis, JonCon, Jaime, god forbid Jorah being the 1000th commander of the NW….when it will be Jon again 🌚
#btw this is not stannerism like i do have legitimate reasons why i think it will be jon at the end#i think an interesting part of jon’s politiking as LC is him realizing how deep the rot is in the watch#he spends an entire book - agot - realizing that he institution he spent his childhood idolizing is not so glorious#he spends the next book directly confronting the issues that come with being a good man ( helping gilly#and being a true man to the watch and starting to notice the cracks in the system#and then asos is like the turning point you know?#adwd is him trying to fix the watch from within but failing imo because as i said the rot is far deeper#it doesnt matter how many people you replace the watch needs an overhaul - a complete uprooting to the core#which is why i dont like theories of him being a passive bystander as the watch crumbles#its just too narratively juicy if he takes a part in the destruction of the watch coz yknow some things need to be cleansed w/ fire n blood#a nice lil parallel to dany and what shell be doing in the east throughout winds#i like him as the 1000th lc because its a nice round number and thats a bit silly but its also signifying a renewal#Its a blank slate which is essential to jon because he does have a vision for the watch and the wildings!#and he can start from the ground up - and like one of the most underrated themes in jon’s arc is nation building#ive said before that i think the show kinda got it right….like we’ll see a weird mesh of lc of the nw and kbtw as jon’s endgame#I wont get into that now….but i know a lot of jon stans dont want him back at the wall because it seems needlessly cyclical and i get it#and i get that the watch isnt the most glorious place to be…but i really do think its meant to be a vehicle to explore themes of rebirth#and renewal which appear in jon’s arc -think of jon’s messianic framing and the watch being his “new earth” after all is said and done#not so much a place of punishment but a place to find new meaning and exist beyond many societal frameworks#for the cripples bastards and broken things….anywayyyyy lmaoo#asoiaf#jon snow
