PART II
You met Cooper during your second semester, in a philosophy class that felt endless with heavy readings and dense discussions. He sat a couple of seats away from you, friendly but reserved, always polite with a small nod when you arrived. He wasn’t the type to dominate conversations or draw attention to himself, but he was approachable, and something about his calm presence made you want to know him better.
One morning after class, you both ended up walking in the same direction, and that’s when it started. “Is it just me, or does Plato make everything sound five times more complicated than it needs to be?” you joked, glancing over at him.
Cooper smiled, a quiet laugh escaping him. “No, it’s not just you. Sometimes I feel like I understand less the more I read.”
That was it — the first real conversation, but it flowed so naturally that by the time you reached the café, you had fallen into an easy rhythm. You grabbed coffee together, and for the first time, you got to see more of him. He had this dry humor that came out when you least expected it, paired with a thoughtful way of speaking that made you want to listen.
As the weeks went on, meeting after class became a routine. You’d walk together, sometimes study or grab coffee. He wasn’t shy but more of an observer, preferring to listen before diving into a conversation. Cooper had a quiet confidence about him, and his steady presence quickly became something you looked forward to. He didn’t push, didn’t fill the silence unnecessarily, but when he spoke, it was always with intention.
Over time, though, you started noticing something more. The way his hand brushed against yours when you walked, the way his eyes lingered just a moment longer than usual. It wasn’t loud or obvious, but the tension was there, simmering quietly between you. Neither of you said anything about it, but it hung in the air during your coffee breaks and quiet study sessions, growing slowly, waiting for the right moment to be acknowledged.
You met Nicholas at a party, one of those loud, crowded events where you felt out of place. You were standing by the drinks table, considering an early exit, when he appeared next to you with a grin that immediately caught your attention.
“You look like you’re planning your escape,” he said, leaning casually against the counter, his eyes bright with amusement.
You smirked, surprised by how easily he picked up on your mood. “Maybe I am.”
Nicholas chuckled, pouring himself a drink. “Tell you what, stay a little longer. I’ll make sure it’s worth it.”
From that moment, the night changed. Nicholas was magnetic, the kind of guy who drew everyone in with his confidence and energy. He kept you laughing, making the party feel less overwhelming and more fun, but it wasn’t just his charm that grabbed you. There was something more, a tension that simmered just beneath the surface. The way he stood close to you, his arm brushing against yours as he talked, the way his gaze would linger on your lips for a fraction too long.
At one point, he leaned in. “Still thinking about leaving?” he teases.
You felt the warmth of his breath against your skin, and it sent a shiver down your spine. His proximity made it hard to think straight, and for a moment, all you could do was look at him.
“Not anymore,” you replied softly, and Nicholas’ grin widened, satisfied.
As the night wore on, that tension only grew. Nicholas would find reasons to touch you, a hand on your shoulder or a brush of his fingers against your arm, each time lingering just long enough to make your pulse quicken. He wasn’t subtle about his interest, and by the time you left the party, you couldn’t stop thinking about the way he made you feel, that electric pull between you, always on the verge of something more.
After that night, Nicholas started popping up in your life more often. He’d text you out of the blue, always with that same playful, flirty energy, and every time you hung out, the tension was there, hanging between you, building with every lingering touch and every teasing remark. It was undeniable, and you both knew it was only a matter of time before one of you acted on it.
The first time Nicholas and Cooper met wasn’t exactly planned. You were in the middle of one of your usual study sessions with Cooper at the campus library. It was the kind of comfortable, quiet work you’d come to expect with him, both of you buried in your notes, exchanging a few words now and then.
Then you received a text from Nicholas. Outside. Coming in.
Before you could even respond, Nicholas appeared, striding through the library. He caught your eye and grinned, waving. “Hey! Thought I’d find you here.”
You smiled, a little surprised, and glanced at Cooper, who looked up from his book, brow furrowing slightly as Nicholas dropped into the chair across from you. “How’s the study session going?”
“It’s going well,” you replied, a little unsure. “We’ve still got a lot to cover.”
Nicholas raised an eyebrow at the stack of books, his face scrunching in mock horror. “Philosophy, huh? You guys need a break. How about I grab us some food? I saw a food truck outside.”
Cooper glanced up from his notes, his response calm but firm. “We’re kind of in the middle of things. Maybe later.”
There was a brief silence. Nicholas, not one to be brushed off easily, looked between you and Cooper, clearly not used to being put on hold. He leaned back in his chair, a playful smirk on his face, but you could sense something else behind it. “Ah, I see. Important stuff.”
Cooper didn’t rise to the bait, simply nodding and returning to his notes. But the tension wasn’t lost on you. Nicholas wasn’t used to being sidelined, and Cooper had this quiet confidence that made it clear he wasn’t going to be swayed by Nicholas’ usual charm.
But Nicholas, in his typical style, didn’t let it go. “Tell you what,” he said, standing up, “I’ll grab the food and bring it back. No distractions, I promise. Just sustenance. You keep doing your thing.”
You opened your mouth to respond, but Nicholas flashed a wink and walked off, leaving you and Cooper in a moment of quiet. You looked over at Cooper, a little apologetic. “I didn’t think he was coming.”
Cooper smiled, a hint of amusement softening his features. “It’s fine. He seems... alright.”
When Nicholas came back, he laid out the food with a grin, true to his word about keeping things low-key. “Alright, food’s here. No distractions,” he said, though his tone carried the usual playful edge.
Cooper gave him a polite nod, accepting the food, though you noticed the dynamic was a bit different now. Nicholas didn’t press as hard this time. He didn’t dominate the conversation like he usually did. Instead, he leaned back, eating his food quietly, stealing occasional glances at Cooper, who seemed focused on his work but not entirely indifferent to Nicholas’ presence.
There was a shift, small but there. Nicholas vseemed to be sizing Cooper up but not in a competitive way anymore. More like he was curious. He was beginning to see that Cooper wasn’t just some guy who kept to himself. He was steady, thoughtful, and sure of himself in a way that Nicholas wasn’t used to. It seemed like Nicholas was… warming up to him.
As the three of you sat there, the tension seemed to ease. Nicholas leaned forward, making a casual comment about the food, and for the first time, Cooper cracked a small smile in response. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for Nicholas to lean back, satisfied, a flicker of something like respect in his eyes.
And for the first time, you thought maybe Cooper was starting to grow on him.
It started innocently enough. You, Nicholas, and Cooper would occasionally run into each other between classes or grab coffee after a long day. At first, it was casual — just friends with overlapping schedules and shared interests. But somewhere along the way, the three of you fell into an unspoken rhythm, a routine that pulled you together more frequently, more naturally. What began as study sessions and movie nights turned into something else, though none of you would admit it just yet.
At first, it was Nicholas who was most obvious about vying for your attention. He’d flash that easy grin, leaning in just a little too close whenever he talked, as though he couldn’t resist testing the boundaries between friendship and something more. He was the type to drape his arm casually over your shoulders, always finding some excuse to be close, his presence hard to ignore.
"Don’t look so serious," he’d tease whenever he caught you focusing too hard during study sessions. "You’re gonna scare off all your brain cells."
You’d roll your eyes, but the warmth of his teasing made you smile every time. And you weren’t the only one who noticed. Cooper, who was more laid-back and less showy, started to subtly mirror Nicholas’ actions, not as overtly, but in his own way. He’d lean forward during conversations, his gaze lingering on you, his voice soft and steady when he spoke. His touches were fewer, but each one was deliberate. If Nicholas was the one to throw playful jabs, Cooper was the one whose quiet support always felt reassuring.
You started to notice it more during your meet-ups: the way they seemed to compete for your attention. Nicholas was always quick to crack a joke, to make you laugh, while Cooper played the calm counterbalance, offering a deeper, more thoughtful presence. If Nicholas made a playful comment, Cooper would find a way to steer the conversation back to something meaningful, as if they were both trying to prove who could hold your interest more.
At first, it felt like a game, like they were challenging each other for who could make you smile, who could capture your focus. There were subtle moments when Nicholas would lean in closer, resting his hand on your knee while Cooper’s eyes followed the movement, his jaw tightening slightly before he’d distract you with a clever remark. If you were caught between them, they seemed equally caught in the tug-of-war over who could win your attention first.
But then, something shifted.
It happened slowly, almost without you noticing. Nicholas and Cooper still vied for your attention, but there were moments when their competitiveness gave way to something more playful between them. You’d catch them exchanging glances when they thought you weren’t looking, a shared look of amusement when one of them made you laugh.
One evening, the three of you were sitting at the campus café after a long day of classes. Nicholas had shown up as usual, sliding into the booth next to you and draping his arm casually over the back of your seat. He leaned in, his breath warm against your ear as he whispered something teasing about the way you held your coffee.
"You’re gripping that cup like it’s about to run away," he murmured, smirking. "Relax a little."
Before you could respond, Cooper arrived, sliding into the seat across from you. He raised an eyebrow at Nicholas’ proximity, but instead of making a comment to you, he glanced at Nicholas. "You know, if you leaned in any closer, people might think you two are dating.”
Nicholas didn’t miss a beat. He leaned back slightly, shooting Cooper a playful look. "What, jealous?"
Cooper smirked, his eyes meeting Nicholas’ in a way that felt different from their usual banter. "Maybe."
It was subtle, the way the tension between them shifted in that moment. What used to feel like a competition for your attention started to feel like they were both enjoying the game, not just with you, but with each other.
Later, back at Nicholas’ apartment for one of your usual movie nights, the energy felt different. You were sandwiched between them on the couch, Nicholas on one side, his arm draped over your shoulders as usual, and Cooper on the other, his knee pressing lightly against yours. The playful banter between them continued, but now, there were small moments where they’d brush against each other, not entirely by accident.
Nicholas would reach over you to grab a drink from the coffee table, letting his arm graze Cooper’s shoulder in the process. Cooper, instead of pulling away, would give Nicholas a slight nudge back, the touch lingering for just a moment before he returned his focus to you. It was subtle, but the shift in their dynamic was unmistakable — they were no longer just competing for your attention. They were starting to acknowledge each other, too.
"You two always this competitive?" you asked, half-joking but genuinely curious as their banter intensified. It was hard to miss the way Nicholas had leaned closer to Cooper over the course of the night, his usual teasing now directed toward both of you.
Nicholas grinned. "Who says we’re competing?"
Cooper chuckled, his gaze flicking to Nicholas briefly before settling back on you. "Yeah, I think we’re just… focused."
You smirked, feeling the tension between them and the way it pulled you right into the center. "Focused on what, exactly?"
Nicholas’ hand brushed lightly against your arm, but then, just as quickly, it slid down, his fingers brushing against Cooper’s shoulder before pulling away. The touch was light, playful, but enough to send a charge through the air. "On making sure you don’t get bored, obviously."
Cooper’s knee nudged yours under the blanket. "We wouldn’t want that."
You could feel the heat rising between the three of you, the subtle flirting no longer so subtle. Their casual touches now lingered longer, their glances shared not just with you, but with each other. Nicholas would throw a teasing comment your way, but his eyes would flick to Cooper afterward, almost daring him to respond. And Cooper, no longer holding back, would meet Nicholas’ gaze head-on, a knowing smirk playing at the corner of his lips.
As the night went on, the dynamics between the three of you shifted even further. Nicholas and Cooper still vied for your attention, but now, there was a clear acknowledgment of the tension between them as well. The casual touches between them grew more frequent, their shared looks more deliberate. It was no longer just a competition for you — it was a slow, teasing flirtation between them, too.
You were still caught in the middle, but now it felt like you weren’t the only one they were trying to win over. They had started to notice each other, and with every touch, every lingering glance, it became clearer: the three of you were connected in a way none of you had fully realized before.
It was bound to come to a head eventually. You, Nicholas, and Cooper had been dancing around each other for weeks, the tension between the three of you growing more obvious with every lingering glance, every touch that stayed just a little too long. But no one had said anything. It was as if you were all waiting for the right moment — or maybe for someone else to break the silence first.
That moment came at a house party, one of those weekend gatherings where the music was too loud, and the rooms were crowded with people looking for an excuse to let loose. You had arrived together, as usual, slipping into the familiar pattern of moving through the party as a trio, but tonight was different. There was a lightness in the air, a sense of release that came with letting go after a long week. People were packed into every area of the house, the thump of music vibrating through the floor, the smell of beer and laughter filling the space.
You started the night casually enough, playing beer pong with a few others in the kitchen. where the competition quickly ramped up. Nicholas, predictably, was cocky as ever, making a show of his "perfect aim."
"Watch this," he said with a wink, aiming the ping-pong ball at the last cup. He missed completely, and the ball bounced off the counter, rolling under the table.
You burst out laughing, your head swimming with the alcohol and the absurdity of the night. "Perfect aim, huh?"
Nicholas shrugged, unbothered. "It’s all part of the strategy. Keep the competition guessing."
Cooper chuckled, shaking his head. "If that’s your strategy, it’s a terrible one."
The banter flowed easily between the three of you, as it always did, but tonight there was an extra layer of warmth, the kind that came from the alcohol already making its way into your system. Your head felt a little lighter, your movements a little slower, as the drinks started to settle in. Nicholas had been handing you drinks all night, always making sure your cup was full, and Cooper had been quietly keeping pace, his eyes flicking between you and Nicholas.
After a few rounds of beer games, you were feeling the full effects of the drinks. Your body was warm, your cheeks flushed, and everything seemed funnier, lighter. The three of you were leaning against each other, laughing at nothing in particular, your head resting against Nicholas’ shoulder as Cooper stood close by, his arm brushing against yours every so often.
It wasn’t long before you needed a break from the noise, the heat of the house starting to feel overwhelming. You slipped away from the crowd, wandering through the hallway until you found a quiet, secluded corner near the back of the house. The music was still loud, but it was muffled here, the chaos of the party fading into the background as you leaned against the wall, closing your eyes for a moment.
You hadn’t been there long when you felt someone approaching. You opened your eyes to see Nicholas standing in front of you, a lazy grin on his face as he leaned one hand against the wall next to you. "Escaping already?"
Before you could answer, Cooper appeared on your other side, his presence quieter but just as steady. His gaze was soft, but there was a heat behind his eyes that made your heart skip a beat. "You didn’t think we’d let you disappear on us, did you?"
You smiled, feeling a sudden rush of warmth at the sight of both of them, standing so close, their attention entirely focused on you. "Just needed a breather."
Nicholas chuckled, his fingers brushing lightly against your arm as he leaned in closer, his voice low. "You sure you weren’t trying to ditch us?"
The way his breath tickled your skin sent a shiver down your spine, and you couldn’t help but glance at Cooper, who was watching you closely. His hand found your waist, his touch gentle but deliberate, "We’ve been following you all night, you know."
Your heart thudded in your chest, the alcohol blurring the lines of everything but the tension that crackled between the three of you. It felt like the air had shifted, like this small corner of the house had become its own world — one where the only thing that mattered was what happened next.
Nicholas’ fingers slid up your arm, his touch light and teasing as he leaned in even closer. "So… what now?"
Cooper’s hand tightened slightly on your waist, his body heat pressing against you from the other side as he waited for your answer. The room felt like it was spinning, not from the alcohol, but from the way their presence wrapped around you, pulling you into a moment you knew had been building for weeks.
"I think… I think we need to talk about this. About us."
Nicholas’ eyes gleamed with a mixture of playfulness and something deeper. His hand lingered on your arm as he glanced over at Cooper. "Yeah, I think it’s about time we do."
Cooper’s fingers brushed softly against your side, his gaze steady but serious. "We’ve been dancing around this for a while, haven’t we?"
You nodded, feeling both of their attention on you, making your pulse race. "It feels like… more than just friendship. With both of you. And I know you’ve felt it too."
Nicholas chuckled softly, his hand slipping to the small of your back as he pulled you just a little closer. "Oh, we’ve felt it. We’ve definitely felt it."
Cooper’s hand tightened on your waist, his tone calm but clear. "But we need to be sure. We need to be on the same page."
You exhaled a shaky breath, glancing between them. "I don’t know exactly what this is yet, but… I want to figure it out. With both of you."
Nicholas’ grin softened, his thumb brushing against the small of your back. "Good. Because I’m all in."
Cooper’s hand slid from your waist to your hand, fingers intertwining with yours. "Me too," he said quietly, his eyes locking with yours, then flicking to Nicholas. "We’re in this together."
Nicholas’ hand slipped up to your jaw, gently turning your face toward his. The grin that was usually playful now softened, his eyes intense as they searched yours. Without another word, he leaned in, his lips brushing against yours in a kiss that was slow, deliberate, and filled with everything that had gone unsaid between the three of you.
The kiss sent a wave of heat through your body, and for a moment, it was just you and Nicholas, the weight of his hand on your back, the warmth of his lips pulling you deeper into the moment.
When he pulled away, your breath caught, and before you could process the rush of emotions, you felt Cooper’s hand gently guiding your face toward him. His kiss was different — softer, more tentative, but no less charged. His lips moved against yours with a quiet intensity, as if he had been holding back for too long and now couldn’t stop himself.
The contrast between them was intoxicating, Nicholas’ fiery energy and Cooper’s gentle steadiness blending together, both of them focused entirely on you. When Cooper pulled back, his forehead rested gently against yours, his breath warm against your skin.
"So," Nicholas murmured, his voice low and teasing, "are we done pretending now?"
You smiled, breathless and caught between them, feeling like the missing pieces had finally clicked into place. "Yeah," you whispered, your heart pounding. "No more pretending."

ask to be added to a taglist! likes and reblogs appreciated <3
fuck suguru geto.
literally.
it had been days of you tracking down a mere rumour of curses that haunted this side of the mountain, and you know you're close — close enough to feel the cold prickling along your skin, ripe with cursed energy with that taste of something unnatural and spectral in the air.
gojo had delegated this mission to you, claiming that you had a natural born talent for hunting curses, but you knew the truth was that he had laid on the flattery thick, so that he could kiss you chastely on the cheek, go take a day off, and let you handle this one on your own.
but just as you raise your hand to cast a light, a flash of movement catches your, a fleeting gleam, drawing you off the trail before you even realise where you're going.
you round the grove, and the sight ahead steals the breath from you. through the night's shadows, a pale blue light pulses, illuminating a tall figure whose outstretched hand has already grasped the curse, right into a neat orb.
it would take only a heartbeat to recognise the sorcerer, but you feel as though your heart has leapt into your throat, your blood pulsing under the thin skin, with such dizzying shock. your chest has tightened, and each breath is laced with something sharp and electric — not sadness, nor grief.
anger.
suguru geto.
you swallow against the burning in your throat, his features are half-lit by the eerie glow of his cursed technique, and yet they are sharper than you remembered, refined and all the more hauntingly familiar.
but he's turned, with his raven hair spilling over his shoulders, and violet eyes meet your own, and you scowl as his lips curl up, voice smooth as he speaks.
"hey. it's been a while."
"you...you — fuck you!"
ugh, now it's just embarrassing. you had spent three years, pondering and wondering what cutting words you'd deliver upon suguru geto when you saw him again. and now you can barely get a sputter out without your eyes wandering over him.
geto raises a singularly arched brow, "don't you think we should catch up first?"
"i should kill you," you wonder if your fractured voice betrays how quite literally unravelled you feel right now, like the earth has fallen out beneath you, and you're not sure if you're moving towards him, or taking a step back, "oh my god, i should actually just kill you."
you wonder how you should do it. draw a blade and let it kiss his skin, to see red split out from his throat. or if you just forgo a weapon and push the air from him until his creamy skin is red and bruised.
but he's beautiful, he's so beautiful and it leaves you wondering if this is how orpheus felt when he turned around in that tunnel, and saw eurydice again. if he was also planted in the ground, unable to move at the sight of what his heart most wanted.
the boy who once broke your heart is now a man, draped in robes of deep purple and green, and gold. a man with ghostly eyes that leave you unsure on whether you're furious, or wanting.
still wanting to wrap your hands around his throat, perhaps. you tamp down any other traitorous thought.
"what's your business here?" you manage, and you wonder if he can hear a tremor, and a crack where all that hurt was buried when you were seventeen years old.
but geto just smiles, "you don't think i'd notice the presence of a curse on my own estate? or a jujutsu sorcerer? you've come a long way, haven't you?"
"huh - your estate?"
ah, it hits you, as you follow your line of sight behind geto's head, past the thick trees that you've been wandering in, to where silver rods strike up, out into the dark sky — the roof of what's clearly an important building, the time vessel association.
you cross your arms, "you mean your bullshit cult?" you wonder how quick you can pull out a knife, one of several that you must have taken with you on your missions.
now it's his turn to scowl at you, and a petulant expression dances across his face, but geto doesn't address your barb, "you've come a long way, did satoru send you here?"
you bark out a laugh, "that's gojo to you now."
now he’s right in front of you, and you force yourself not to swallow or betray even a flicker of nerves.
you hold his gaze, determined and unwavering but geto has always been tall, his frame deceptively broad beneath the layers of his robes, but standing this close, you catch the heady scent of allspice and sandalwood, maybe even some ceremonial incense.
"oh, i'm sorry. only you get to call him satoru now, is that right?"
you're not stupid, you know that there's an undertone of a question in his snarky tone, well fuck him. you don't owe him an answer of what your life has been like in the past three years (nor what gojo's has been like, for that matter).
he watches you for an answer, with a face as elegent as an idol in an ancient shrine, pale and luminous against the moon-lit sky. you briefly wonder how a tall, beautiful boy who floated around campus with headphones around his neck, and an obscure band-tee, had managed to peel off his skin and carve himself into something more holy, like a heian-era deity.
"suguru," you finally breathe, and your head feels jumbled and aching. he tilts his head, lips parted, as if he's been waiting for his name to fall from your lips, and he's savouring it.
"come with me," he says simply, gesturing to the shadowed building behind him, and his hand lingers in the air, as his pale, slender fingers reach towards your own, "just this once, you don't have to tell him, y'know."
yes, you know. you should refuse, fuck, you should have been grinding his blood into the earth, for the night has no time for traitors. and if you were to take his hand, it would make you one as well.
oh, how easily suguru geto has always been able to unravel you, and all you've ever known or believed in.
suguru's fingers are like ice as they close around your wrist, with a firm but unhurried grip, pulling you along that makes resistance feel almost laughable.
you try to twist free, but he only glances back, with a teasing smile over his face, "still as defiant as ever," he murmurs, and you're not sure whether your cheeks are flushed from how he's drinking the sight of you in.
"i wouldn't be if you weren't dragging me through this place like some prisoner."
suguru laughs, "is that what you are?" and a dangerous, dormant merriment glints in his violet eyes, "i thought you'd come with me willingly."
his voice is maddeningly calm, as if this was some routine rendezvous, as if he hadn’t walked out of your life three years ago and left nothing but emptiness behind. suguru leads you down a long hallway lined with tall, flickering candles, their dim glow casting eerie shadows across the stone walls. it's so quiet you can hear your own breathing, each inhale tinged with the scent of incense that lingers on his robes.
you give another half-hearted tug against his grip, but his hold only tightens, but he stops, looking down at you, his gaze softening, almost pitying. "save your strength. we’re nearly there. and i need you to behave, and be quiet."
you hate the way your heart races at his touch, at his command, at the intimacy of this shadowed corridor that seems to belong to no one but the two of you.
"and where exactly are you taking me, suguru?" you ask, voice brittle.
"patience. you'll see soon enough."
he leads you forward again, each step echoing through the silence until he finally stops at a large, dark-stained wooden door. his fingers slide away from your wrist, leaving your skin tingling in their absence, and your own fingers curl outwards wanting to reach for his again before you tuck your hand away shamefully.
you can see his smile out of the corner of his eye. he knows this, and more.
but now suguru glances back, his eyes gleaming in the low light. "you came all this way," he says, voice low. "i thought you wanted to catch up."
yeah. catch up.
that's exactly what you'd call it when you barrel through the doors alongside him, and push your mouth against his, hearing the satisfying breath that he draws before he's moving against you too.
you lean into suguru, feeling the heat radiate from his broad body as every nerve in your skin awakens as his lips crash against yours with a fervour that leaves you breathless. it's been three long years since you last felt this, anything, like this and you fight back whatever demon lurches within you — an ode to bittersweet rage, longing and want.
you can taste him in your mouth, a mix of mint and even something sweeter, and it stings you, pricks at every cut he must be leaving over you. but suguru's hands grip your waist, and you wonder if he feels just as you do. but he must, for his arms have pulled you in, anchoring you onto his chest, as if he's afraid you might slip away (just as he had, from you).
you don't know where the tears came from, but salt runs down your cheeks, mingling in with your kisses, and you take a moment to pull away from him, and trace his face with shaking fingers.
"i should hate you," you breathe out, but how can you when he stares down at you as if you've reached into his chest and clawed his heart out. a killer, a traitor, a murderer. but it's still him all the same.
but his lips are now on your face, as his tongue runs over the streaked sorrow, licking it right up, "don't," and now his tone is pleading, suguru geto is pleading above you, "i can't live with you hating me. just let me do this."
he leans into your more deeply and your hands move instinctively, slipping beneath the soft fabric of his robes, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath your fingertips. you explore the contours of his muscles, tracing the lines of his body, every touch igniting a spark that sends shivers through you, makes your own core feel heavy.
it's delicious how his breath hitches as you slide your hand even lower, past the waistband of his pants, right where the hard evidence of his desire is plain, and there's a satisfying rush of power that courses through you at his response, at the breath of air suguru rushes through his teeth in a low keen as he separates yourself from your panting mouth, to trail his soft lips on the sensitive skin lower.
his teeth briefly sink into the juncture of your neck, and you jolt at the brief pain before he runs his tongue over the fresh marks, soothing, hot.
his large hands are both under your top now, moving over the expanse of your stomach and up, up until they cup both your breasts, pinching, and twirling and leaving you slick with the arousal that has gathered at the apex of your thighs.
"so pretty, ah! so - pretty," suguru breathes, and you quirk your lips up as he lowers you slowly to the mat. he'd let you to quite a bare room, with nought in it save for the floor and the walls, but you're honestly content with him having his way with you like this.
you should feel guilty, you should be seeing blue eyes peering up at you from between your thighs, white hair plastered with the sweat of exertion.
but instead, all you see is the twilight sky, brushstrokes of black and dusky violet as suguru takes his place on his chiselled stomach, as you feel the mat press into your shoulder blades while you lay flat on your back.
"stay with me, gorgeous," he murmurs, his breath warm against the skin of your thighs. his plush lips brush against your mound, and you squirm and shake from the need, the need to feel his mouth lower and you cannot help but just arch into him, mewling as he starts drifting his fingers down.
"oh my god, oh!," you're almost embarrassed to be put in this position, moaning like a wanton whore, but you can't just bring yourself to stop, "fuck, suguru. can you please -"
and you're bucking your hips up towards his mouth, begging him to get a hint, and give you a hit of the pleasure that you're so craving.
but suguru stares at you flatly, and then in between your legs almost methodically, like he's waiting for something, and the flat of his palm rests heavy over your clothed cunt.
"i don't think so," he mutters, "tell me something first," and he's playing with the elastic band of your underwear, pulling it to the side before snapping it back, thwack!
"tell me you don't hate me. i need to hear you say it, that you never hated me," and you can feel a new bruise bloom on the inner corner of your thigh from his teeth's ministrations.
"i don't hate you! please, suguru, i could never, ah! -" and you don't get the chance to even finish your sentence before the man is pressing his tongue straight to the damp, translucent patch of fabric that's been soaked with your slick.
his teeth have caught on the fabric deliberately, and he's pulling the fabric, up and up, and the sight makes you so incredibly delirious that you wonder how on earth you're going to recover after this.
and to your credit, his eyes have gone wide, and hazy even — and you enjoy watching him swallow, adam's apple bobbing as suguru seems so entirely pussydrunk, just from you alone.
oh, now you have an idea, and so you pull yourself up and onto him, and he lets you push him down so your positions are reversed. he looks so beautiful like this, dark hair splayed out and falling over his flushed face, as you straddle his thighs, lewdly dripping over his robes as you try to gain some friction from the fabric.
"you're so desparate, baby. didn't think you'd be so — mmph! fuck!" it seems that all it takes to shut suguru geto up is a well-intentioned roll of your hips against his groin, and his hands shoot up to find their place on your waist, rubbing small circles over your hipbones.
you let out a shaky laugh, leaning down to press your lips to his again, "yeah, that's what i thought," and you kiss him, quick and almost outstandingly chaste, and you grin in satisfaction as he leans up again to chase your lips as soon as you separate.
as moonlight spills into the room, you decide to make short work of his robes, reaching underneath the silk to part the fastening, revealing the smooth ripple of muscle underneath, illuminated like godly marble in the silver light. suguru's gaze is fixed on you, his breath shaky and quickening, as he lets you trace your nails lightly over his abdomen.
taking a quick breath, your fingers slide beneath the waistband of his pants once more, and you relish at how suguru's entire body tenses at your touch, his breath hitching, "oh, fuck! right there," as your hands make contact with his cock, feeling the soft skin and the steel underneath. it's large, and heavy in your hands and you gulp, and realise now he's enjoying your reactions.
"there you go, you've had your fun," he breathes out, before shifting your hips back till you're situated right over his cock, "now, let me handle this."
you're barely given a few seconds to catch your breath before he sheathes himself, gliding straight into you thanks to the obscene amount of arousal practically weeping from your cunt, and you keen up at the sky, writhing from the delicious stretch of his wide cock that's made its home in your gummy walls.
"oh, ahh - suguru! wait, let me -," and you shift yourself, groaning as you feel his cock right in the sweetest spots, so you're in his embrace and he gladly envelops his arms around you, bringing you closer and planting desparate, hot kisses on your skin as your nails create crescents in his smooth skin.
suguru seems just as whipped as you are, gone from this mortal plane of the earth and onto a higher level of existence, just from your pretty, tight pussy that's holding him together, "keep doing that, pretty, look how. good. you. take. me."
and each word is punctuated by suguru's hips bullying into yours, pushing his cock deeper and further than you thought you could ever handle, as his mouth pants under yours, "taking it like a fuckin' champ. missed this, missed this so much."
you missed it too, chasing after the feeling of threading your fingers through his soft black locks, feeling him shudder as you scraped your nails down the back of his head,
"yeah, that's it," oh, suguru's always been mouthier like this, when you're sucking up him so deliciously, ramming his hips and angling them in a way that has your abdomen tingling, and has your eyes (and his) seeing stars and the heavens.
he taps his shoulders, where his dark robes have slipped off, revealing the smooth expanse of toned muscle and hot skin, "hands here, baby. keep you steady, yeah?"
and you plant your hands on his chest, determined to swivel your hips in a way that has you gasping for air, and glancing down right where - fuck, where you can quite literally see his bulge through your skin.
"oh, suguru! ah, keep doing that!" you desperately hope that these premises were vacated, for your unrestrained moans must have been rippling through the thin walls, strained and throaty as they bounced off wood.
and you just couldn't pull your eyes away from the sight of him, intoxicating as he was. suguru under you, broad chest heaving as he caught his breath with every rock of your hips — with a flush painting his creamy skin, framed by dark strands of hair that fanned messily around his face, falling in careless waves over his forehead and brushing against his cheekbones.
you couldn't help yourself, curling your fingers in the unruly halo and drawing him up, closer to your face as his crimson-bitten lips parted slightly, clacking around a deep groan.
his mauve eyes lifted away from the swell of your chest once more, hazy with exhaustion, but they softened as they met your own gaze with an almost reverent, quiet awe. even lying there, while you quite literally rode him to hell and back, cunt pulsing against his cock in a way that left you both breathless, he looked at you as if you were some vision, and his rosy-bruised mouth curled again.
"always thought you - hah - looked like a dream," he murmured, his gaze tracing your face as if he were committing every detail to memory, "i used to think that i had forgotten, or tried to forget how beautiful you were, are."
"but now," and he bucks his hips into a steady tempo, a constant allegro, "seeing you here, like this as if you were made for fuckin' me, how could i ever forget?"
his fingers are still under your top, brushing against your spine and you mewl, pressed close enough to him so your breasts press against the hard planes of his chest.
"stay a little longer, yeah?" he whispers, "just let me look at you, fuck! don't think i'd ever be able to stop lookin' at you anyway. can't get enough of you," and he reaches a hand in between your thighs, finding your swollen clit and beginning to run soft circles around it with the pads of his fingers, "don't think i'll ever get enough."
it's becoming too much, the harsh smack of his skin against yours, the feeling of your throbbing clit being showered with white-hot attention from his quick hands, the counter of his dense shaft gliding down your pliable walls, spanning them out until you can feel him so deep within you, "fuck, it's too good - mmph, way too good, i can't -"
you're practically tangled in his arms, in the arms of a man who should have been an enemy, a traitor, one who crumbled all that you held once dear. but his chest rises and falls erratically against yours, and you can feel him heartbeat jump, grounding you in the most unbearable way,
his fingers are now bruising your hips, leaving marks that you're sure (in the back of your mind, somewhere that's still rational) satoru would easily be able to recognise but you can't bring yourself to care.
you can't tell whose tears are staining the fabric of his robes between you, his or yours. the line between the two of you blurs as much as the fog in your mind from the way his cock has driven into you, made its imprint in a way that you'll never forget.
"suguru -" you're wondering if your poor, torn heart will just simply give out now, why is it so hard to breathe? each press of his fingers against your clit has you moaning over the shell of his ear, "i'm close, hah, i'm so close, suguru."
he chuckles weakly, bubbling from him and mingled in with a grunt, "yeah, i fuckin' know. i know." and his soaked fingers are still drawing circles in your sticky arousal that's leaking from you, over his cock, over his robes, dampening the dark trail of hair that coats his groin.
"always been mine." and as he bites your neck, teeth sinking into you, you feel the coil in your abdomen snap! and god, you don't think you could ever go back. not like this.
you can't even imagine the picture you must paint now, lips parted and open as you feel yourself being rocked through your orgasm in a way that leaves you untethered from the earth. how the spasm of your walls must finally trigger his own release, and suddenly he's stiffened too as thick, creamy ropes of his seed find their home in you, "see, mine. always mine, don't go soft on me now, pretty. oh my god, fuck!"
all you can truly do is let him handle you now, let his arms tighten and pull you in as close as possible, so his teeth are tugging on your lips, kissing right into your mouth as you ride out the stars of your own release, tears springing to your eyes once more from the overstimulation, hands digging into the woven mat under him.
later, you lie in suguru's arms, wrapped up entirely in the exhausation (and guilt, oh fuck, the guilt of what you've done) of the world, and everything else feels hazy and irrelevant. the steady rhythm of his breath in small puffs is the only thing grounding you, the warmth of his chest rising and falling against yours. he's tracing soft lines across your back, like he's trying to memorise the feel of you.
"suguru," you whisper, your voice breaking once more on his name, lips close to the damp skin of his neck. you're not sure if you're still crying, or if this is the quietest, most intimate form of surrender that has replaced the weathered storm.
he doesn't speak for a long moment, but his grip has tightened on you, as though he's trying to draw you even closer, like your soul will meld into his, "don't," and his voice is ragged raw, "you don't have to leave just yet."
the quiet desperation in his words cracks your heart, and for the first time in three years, the distance between the man who had become a shadow, and the boy you once knew feels almost unrecognisable.
his face turns toward yours, his eyes searching yours, as if he’s looking for something to anchor him, something to give him the assurance that all the destruction he’s caused, all the distance between you, can still be undone.
but you’re not sure if it’s possible.
you want to say something, anything, but the words lodge in your throat, too heavy and too tangled to escape. you let your hand rest on his chest, feeling the steady thrum of his heart, matching the pace of your own.
"i don’t know if i can stay, suguru," you say, "how can we go back to what we were?"
"then let me make it up to you," he says softly, his voice shaking with a quiet urgency, as though this is the last chance he’ll ever have. "let me show you what i've built here. that you don’t have to leave."
if you stay, you risk losing yourself. you risk losing the anger that you had cherished, and treasured, nurtured and held onto. the anger that had guided you through the world. still, as you meet his gaze, something inside of you shifts. maybe it’s the way his hands slide gently up your back, steady and sure.
"please," he breathes again, his forehead resting gently against yours. "don’t leave. do not do to me, what i should never have done to you."
the moonlight spills through the cracks of the window, and it brings to mind the flicker of bright blue eyes, six eyes, alongside their warmth and steady presence, and you wonder if the earth will swallow you whole for what you've done.
you should never have come here. you shouldn’t have allowed yourself to get caught up in suguru's gravity again, shouldn’t have let him pull you back into this mess of old feelings and broken promises.
suguru's low, tired laugh pulls you from your thoughts, his breath warm against your skin. he pulls back slightly, his dusky eyes gleaming with something you can’t quite place — a spark of surprise, maybe amusement, even a little mockery, but there is no lie in his eyes.
"satoru?" he says, the name slipping from his lips with a touch of disbelief. "you really think he hasn’t visited me in the past three years either?"

shidou ryusei x bimbo!reader
c/w . implied female reader, implied smut, fluff, shidou ryusei is crazy for you wc: 1 k a/n . shidou ryusei my beloved. literally obsessed with his crazy ass ugh <3 reblogs and comments appreciated ✧*.
pt 1, pt 2
imagine...
shidou who loves every bit of you. your short pink skirt that shows off your panties every time you jump around, your too tight shirts that show off your body and the way you make him feel like the smartest person in the world.
like - no baby, pikachu is not a real animal.
you bounce off each others energies so well, your dynamic is literally popular jock x popular cheerleader. he'd be at games and look for you in the stands, pointing and blowing kisses in your direction. and you'd return them in fervor, shaking your 'ryu-baby you can do it!!!' sign that was decorated with pink glitter and cut-out hearts.
he once flashed his tits to you while sticking his tongue out. you'd almost returned the favour but your friend stopped you. truly lucky for everyone, cause if you had done that ryusei would , firstly, destroy every camera in that stadium and then give everyone concussions because nobody but him could look at your bahonkers.
shidou who adores how your hands look in his. your acrylic nails that leave a delicious sting whenever they touch him beautifully contrast his own dull short nails that you manicured yourself.
"babe you need to look after your nails! at the very least let me paint a base coat!" you'd pout at him, fluttering your pretty eyelashes at him while holding his hands close to your chest.
usually when you went out together he'd hold you by the waist, but every time you get new acrylics he'd hold you by your hands. he loves playing with your nails, feeling the new textures you'd gotten.
he'll let you paint his nails too, makes you promise to get your painted the colour of his tip.
shidou who tells everyone about his beautiful partner. at this point, everybody in the world knew you were together, with how obnoxious he was about your relationship. in every interview he's able to bring you up. doesn't matter if no one asked him, he'll talk about you.
and he almost always gives them a little too much info.
"what i think of the other team? think they all suck. saw one of them lookin' at m' doll and i was gonna knock 'im out! i mean - i get it. they're fuckin' hot but they're mine."
"o-ok, well-"
"ya'll know about us right? i'm taken by her," he shows a polaroid picture of you he put on the back of his phone. "and she's mine. she's so cute too, almost sued dog treat companies cause she thought they were made from actual dogs."
"yes, let's move on-"
"and look - she painted my nails. painted them the colour of m' eyes."
"alright that's cute-"
"she painted hers the colour of my tip-"
"ANYWAYS."
shidou who loves doing makeup with you. yes he only has to do eyeliner, but he loves distracting talking to you while you get yourself ready to go out.
he absolutely adores helping you put on lip gloss. he has you seat on his lap, a hand holding your jaw while the other holds the applicator. he definitely steals a few kisses first though. wets your lips he says and you just nod along, too dumb to realise that the lip gloss does that for you.
that doesn't mean he doesn't kiss you after applying the gloss though. after making you smack your lips together he dives in like he's going for a goal, sucking and biting your bottom lip. you'd get so angry cause you'll have to clean your makeup up, but he doesn't care too much. he'll just sit there, pink smeared over his lips as you fret over your appearance.
he also loves when you help him draw on his eyeliner. he'll have his chin pressed on your fantastic titties, one of your hands on the back of his head as the other held the liner.
when this happens his eyes always seem to take in your features. the wrinkle of your eyebrows or the way your mouth is slightly open, he loves looking at you.
shidou who has to be pulled back by you every time he gets into a fight. it could be for any reason. they were looking at him funny, they were looking at you periodt, they were getting too close, anything and everything gets him riled up. especially if it involves you. his special little doll he loves so much.
he's got to protect what is his after all.
you'd hold him from behind both hands on his chest as you try to pull him away. "baby they're not worth your time!"
"those fuckers called ya dumb doll! ain't no fuckin' way i'd let that slide!" only he was allowed to call you that. he's growling, dangerous smirk on his face as the veins on his arms and neck stand up. this, you think, is when he's the most sexy.
the only way to stop him is to direct his anger into a different place.
you step closer, pressing your plush breasts against his back, the hand on his chest sliding up to his neck as the other moved to hold his shoulder.
"mm...but baby it's getting really hot here, and i really really want you." you stand on your tippy toes, pouted lips pressing against his ear as you whisper into his it.
his anger almost fully vanishes, gone with the guys who 'insulted' you. now his anger changes to something else, something more...dangerous.
to you, that is. cause you won't be walking for the next few days.
shidou who after tussles with people, lets you nurse him back to health. loves when you play doctor cause he get's all of your attention to himself.
doesn't matter if it's a bruise or if its his cut up knuckles, you tend to all his injuries with loving care. of course, you don't really know what your'e doing but it's the thought that counts! and he won't stop you when you use cute kuromi plasters on his wounds.
yes they are glittery, and pink and cutesy. yes everyone at training talks about how lovesick he looks when he stares at his fingers. but does he care? no.

adam designated driver
intoxicated!readerxcaretaker!adam
a/n: adam driver is maybe like the love of my life I hope he reads well. this is also an older fic but maybe 2020-ish?
wc: 2.3k
18+ MDNI | no smut but sexual themes
summary: Y/N went out and had a few too many, when trying to call a taxi driver, she taps her friend adam's contact instead.
"Can I get a whiskey sour?!"You managed to shout over the pulsating bass.
The bartender nodded, turning around to grab the bottles he needed.
He was in his mid-twenties, sporting a thick beard and jewelry: trendy black stretchers, multiple rings on his fingers, and bead bracelets that swung from his wrists as he shook the shaker vigorously.
You observed his rings up close as slid your fifth drink of the night in front of you. You shouted a 'thank you' and passed him the money. The chilled glass froze your palm as you grabbed it. You winced hissed.
You were already intoxicated, which resulted in you feeling warmer than usual. You began to drink your cocktail, wincing from the prominent bourbon taste hitting your tongue.
Turning to the dance floor on your bar stool, you observed your friends dancing provocatively in front of the men.
They would grind on each other and kiss for the sake of attention as if their clothing alone wouldn't draw attention, and it would work every time. Men who were complete strangers would buy you and your friends multiple rounds throughout the night hoping to get lucky.
Tonight, you all wore matching tight-fitted black mini skirts and tops that barely covered your chest. Your outfit in question was uncomfortable, to say the least, but it was like wearing a costume. When you'd dress like that, it was as if you were a new person, for one night. You immediately gained a newfound confidence and your adventurous side would come out to play.
You grinned against your glass, chuckling to yourself.
How you loved being a woman.
You scootch off the seat, stumbling, trying to find your footing. Your sense of balance was terrible when you were drunk and your heels did not help with that at the moment.
Eventually, you made your way to your friends on the dance floor, joining the small circle to include yourself again.
"Y/N! There you are, I missed you!" Your little blonde friend threw herself on you. You caught her in your arms, laughing.
The six of you danced to the beat. Hips swaying, arms in the air, hair flying everywhere. You could feel the blood pumping through your veins, and sweat forming on your forehead, but you didn't care you were having so much fun.
our arms were raised in a state of intoxicated freedom as you tried to keep up with your friends, whose energy seemed endless.
Your fingertips tingled as you waved your hands to the rhythm, and your feet grew numb from the constant stomping.
Your head felt heavy on your neck, and your eyelids became harder to keep open. You were running out of breath.
Your movements turned sloppy as your body began to fatigue, even though your mind insisted you had more energy than you actually did. Your chest heaved, struggling to breathe in the tight top.
A couple hours went by and the club slowly began to empty out as people left in small crowds. The night was approaching its end.
You were seated in a booth with fewer friends, all of you trying to call your drives home.
Your vision was blurry as you fiddled with your phone, trying to hold it properly.
The aggressive blue light blinded you. You squinted, opening your contacts app.
A few scrolls down and you found your usual Taxi Driver's phone number.
You pressed it, bringing your phone close to your ear. The ringing echoed loudly in your ears as you drunkenly awaited a response. He finally answered.
"Ugh-mkay, uh I'm at thuh Sound Night Club.... on Las Palmas, can you cohme get me? I'm fuckhing drunhk." You slurred into the phone mic.
After a few exchanges, you hung up. "Welp ladies, my taxi issa comin soon so I gotta wait outside." You stood, steadying yourself on the table. You draped your jacket over your shoulders, clinging your wallet and phone to your chest. You gave them each a kiss on the cheek and said your goodbyes.
Your heels padded on the tacky red carpet as you slowly made your way to the entrance. Before leaving you wished the bouncer a good night. "It's not my birthday, but thank you." He replied. You just smiled, confused.
You pushed the heavy doors open, only to be greeted with a freezing gust of air. Your exposed legs were now covered in chills. The street lights illuminated your flushed cheeks; how nice. You leaned your back against the club's brick wall and waited for your Taxi.
A shiny black Camaro pulled up to the curb, flashing its lights and honking its horn. You stayed put, wondering whose ride it was. It then honked again.
You just observed silently.
The driver's door opened and a tall dark man rose from the car. "Y/N?" He shouted. You jumped slightly. This wasn't your taxi driver: You wondered who the man was, and how he knew your name.
Fucking trouble, that's who.
The unknown man was shouting your name. You looked around to see if anyone else was outside that you could ask for help; not one.
Fuck it, you thought.
You took a run for it, your cheap heels clicking on the cement sidewalks, and you gripped all of your belongings as if your life depended on it, and at that moment it did.
The streets of Los Angeles were dangerous at this time of night, and you were the desired victim; a drunk, helpless, pretty girl in slutty clothing.
So much for being a woman!
The cold air breezed through your product-filled hair as you ran down an alley, only to be cornered by the car again.
You stopped in your tracks, shocked. Your heart pounded in your ears and your mouth was now dryer than a desert. You couldn't find your voice to yell for help.
The man got out again and started running after you, leaving his door open. The car lights blinded you, you could only see his tall shadow approaching you, quickly.
You once again tried to make a run for it but your heel fell through a manhole cover. You rolled your ankle and fell to your knees, your full weight hitting the solid pavement. You groaned in pain. The man rushed to your sides, as you cried on your hands and knees.
This was the end.
"Y/N! What were you thinking? You could've gotten seriously hurt! You could've gotten hit by a fucking car!!" The familiar voice gritted with rage. You lifted your head trying to identify this strange individual's face, only to reveal the face of your friend, Adam.
"Adam? Why the fuhhck are yohu trying to kidhnap me for?" You slurred, trying to push away from his grip. "Kidnap? What? -Y/N, you called me from the club asking me to pick you up." He raised an angry eyebrow.
You just broke down in tears, feeling lost and confused.
"You're too drunk." He grumbled, shaking his head.
"nO, I called, Denis. My usual taxi." You squinted, pulling out your phone to show him. Adam plucked the phone from your grasp and examined the phone.
"Y/N, it says Driver. Driver, Adam." He sighed impatiently.
"Oh, well, i swearr thaht I actually talked to hi-WOah!" Adam had cut you off by picking you up bridal style from the ground.
"Let me down!" You attempted to squirm but your lack of energy or control didn't allow you to do so.
"No, Y/N. You hurt your ankle. Now stop whining and let me take care of you. It's late- It's 4 in the fucking morning and you're acting like a child." He knelt down to grab your jacket that was at his feet and proceeded to place you on the passenger side of his car.
He then resumed his place at the wheel and sped off to his apartment. His car hummed loudly down the silent streets.
During the drive, you were quiet, your scraped knees were pulled to your chest and you faced your window, observing the lights that flashed by as Adam sped through the neighbourhood.
You began to feel your soberness again because all the adrenaline was gone and the pain was now settling in.
Adam pulled into the parking garage and stopped the car in his usual spot. He turned off his vehicle and picked you up once more, this time with less anger. You toyed with the collar of his shirt as he carried you to his door. He had so many birthmarks on his neck.
Arriving at 11B, he managed to unlock and kick his door open. He used his elbows to switch on the lights and laid you on the grey sofa.
"Do you need anything? Some pants, another shirt? Socks?" He spoke on top of you, trying to keep you awake.
"This outfit is too tight, Adamhm, can I borrow some long socks and one of your T-shirts?" You breathed out, with your eyes closed. Your head felt heavy against the firm couch pillow, it's like you were sinking in quicksand.
"I'll be right back." He said.
You peeked an eye open to observe his apartment decor. It was minimalistic, with tones of light greys, topes and whites. Indie artists covered his walls, and colourful woven rugs were sprawled across the floor. He had lots of books on his shelf in the corner, you propped yourself up and dragged your feet to the library dizzily.
Poetry.
Adam had lots of notorious poets in his collection.
He returned shortly.
"Here you go. Are you sure you don't want some shorts or sweatpants? They have drawstrings, so you can tighten it as much as you want." He placed the clothing on the oak coffee table that you were now making your way to.
"I'm sure... thank you, Adam." You smiled unzipping your painfully tight top, exposing your red push-up bra. Adam's eyes diverted to the floor, he didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
"If you need anything else, I'll be upstairs in my bedroom. It's the first door on your left." He turned to leave.
"Wait, Adam!" You let the top fall to your feet.
"Yes?" He turned around, making only eye contact, trying to not observe your figure.
"You have poetry books in your library." You said, sliding your skirt off, leaving you in only your matching lace undergarments.
Adam controlled his breathing.
"I do, I do, uh, do you read lots of... poetry?" He asked leaning against his living room door frame.
"I actually used to write some and read them at open mic nights." You smiled, unclipping your bra swiftly, allowing your breasts to bounce out of your bra.
"Much better," You muttered.
"I-I uh, I didn't know that." He bit the inside of his cheek, face remaining unreadable. He crossed his muscular arms over his chest and fixed his posture. You could hear his foot tapping the floor, and you could sense uneasiness in him.
Oh?
Casually, you let the bra fall, like your top, and slid on his grey Star Wars t-shirt that he probably had received from a fan.
Adam was not one to watch let alone buy merchandise from his own projects. The Kylo graphic tee looked cute on you, it ended mid-thigh and wasn't too wide.
"I still write sometimes, but not as much as I'd like to, you know? What about you, do you write?" You sat on the low coffee table, knowing well, that Adam was struggling to keep his composure and slid on his long black socks that went up to your knees.
"I do, but I don't think that it's good." He chuckled, trying to seem less awkward. You simply smiled at the statement and found your place on the couch.
"um- you need some water and aspirin, I'll go get that for you." He said and walked out of the room, his heavy footsteps thumped on the creaky wooden floors.
In one hand he had a big glass of iced water, and in the other, he had two tiny pills. "Thank you," you mumbled tiredly, washing down the medicine with water. "Need anything else?" He asked glancing at the time: 4:52 AM.
"No, I'll be fine, thank you, Adam. For everything. It's really appreciated. Also, I'm sorry for earlier, I thought you were trying to hurt me, it was dumb." You looked down at the glass that you held in your lap, in embarrassment.
"You are...welcomed." He gave you a small close-mouthed smile before shutting off the lights and going upstairs to his own bed.
You tossed and turned on that shitty sofa. It was small compared to your bed at home and the throw blanket was too thin for your liking, you really wished you would've taken up that offer on the sweatpants.
"Ugh, fuck it." You groaned, now fully sober and exhausted.
You quietly got up and proceeded to make your way upstairs to the first bedroom on the left. You turned the doorknob slowly and pushed it even slower to avoid making any noise. You saw that his bedside light was on, and you could make out faint clicking noises. When you fully opened the door, you were happy to be greeted by Adam sitting shirtless in bed, typing on his computer.
"Hi." You quietly spoke.
He lifted his chin and met your eyes with his brown ones. "Hi." He gave you a toothy smile.
"Can't sleep either?" You asked, padding towards his gigantic bed. "No, not really." He chuckled closing his laptop and placing it on his bedside table.
You sat on the foot of his bed, observing his thick chest and shoulders. He was a very attractive man, very large, he looked soft. You bit your lip at the thought.
"Come." He lifted the covers from the unoccupied side of the bed and tapped the mattress like when prompting a dog or cat to come sit next to you.
You obeyed and got under the covers next to him, already feeling his warmth.
You hummed in delight as he turned off the lamp. Adam laid on his side, facing you. You did the same, trying to focus your eyes on his face through the new darkness.
He let out a tired sigh and without warning, he pulled your whole body forward. Your head was buried in his chest, his bicep supported your neck, and his other arm rubbed your back.
"Sleep, or you'll get sick tomorrow morning. "
You smiled and inhaled the scented body wash he used. You absent-mindedly pressed a kiss to his chest, making him hum lovingly.
A moment of thinking passed and he then tipped your head back, to place a long tender kiss on your lips. You returned the kiss, feeling his plump lips against yours in delight, sending butterflies in your stomach.
After, you returned to his chest and he placed another kiss on your forehead, drifting you slowly to sleep.
oh adam, i'd die for you

may i request camping with kento plsss
The Wingman!
Summary: Marie’s Summer Fest prompt: Camping
Pairing: Nanami Kento x AFAB!Reader
Warnings: language, threats, confessions, fluff, dry humping
Word Count: 1,982
A/N: Thanks for the request, Nonnie! This was a fun super cute prompt! Ugh I love Nanami so much so precious!! 😩💚
You were going to kill the strongest sorcerer of the modern age. Despite his six eyes and limitless technique, you would find a way to kill Gojo. The cocky bastard found out you had liked none of me after walking by Shoko’s office and overhearing you, gushing about the glorious blonde that has stolen your heart.
He made it a point to help you get together with the seven-to-three ratio sorcerer. Gojo often asked you to meet him at the vending machines, only to find Nanami waiting instead. He would have Ijichi pick you up after the mission while Nanami was in the back of the car; he even went as far as locking you in the teacher's lounge together
Gojo had dubbed himself your wingman, and his first attempts to help you had been very innocent. This time he had gone too far.
The bastard had somehow talked Yaga into setting up a camping weekend for students. His reasoning was to let the kids be kids, which could help with their survival skills and team-building—all of which your boss fell for. At first, you were excited. You loved teaching the next generation of sorcerers, and your students always had a way of brightening your day. You sadly realized another reason for this trip, the second not standing in the woods waiting for everyone.
You were seconds away from bolting back to Campus when Gojo grabbed you by the back of your shirt, dragging you back to the group. “Alright, so we’re gonna go over sleeping arrangements.” Gojo went through the list of students before pointing towards himself.
“And our talisman teacher will be bunking with office-worker-dropout sorcerer Nanami Kento. While I’ll be chilling with Suguru!”
“I’m going to kill you.” You harshly whisper while the students begin setting up their tents.
“How could you say that after all the effort I put into giving you some alone time with Nanami?”
“Sleep with one eye open, you stupid cocky, arrogant—”
“Ooh~ keep talking, I'm getting close.”
You embedded your fist with cursed energy and slammed it against Gojo’s infinity, drawing out of the bark of laughter from the blindfolded asshole. Since punching him was out of the question, you stormed off to set up your tent with Nanami close behind you. Like always, he was courteous, insisting that he could put the tent up, but you declined, telling him that you needed to do something with your hands because murdering Gojo was impossible. To which he did something you’ve never heard; he laughed out loud.
Nanami’s laugh was warm and rich, leaving your stomach swarming with butterflies. You found yourself blankly, staring at him. Unaware of your staring, he grinned, shaking his head, as he leaned against a tree near him. That smile had all murderous intentions, floating down the river as his laughter fueled your drive for the night. Did the kids need firewood? You were off skipping through the woods to collect it. Suguru forgot to get the marshmallows out of the car for s’mores? No worries! Thinking of Nanami’s little headshake, you zoomed back to campus alone!
Thinking about his smile had you in a daze all evening. Even when you lay in the tent, staring off into space, you fought the urge to kick your feet as you thought about Nanami earlier. Your thoughts allowed a silence to grow between, but not awkward in an awkward way. It was almost smooth and comforting until he cleared his throat, drawing your focus towards him. Nanami had propped himself up on his elbow, still in his sleeping bag. His gaze was glued to the side of the tent as the soft flush dusted the tips of his ears
“I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable.”
“What?”
“I just wanted to apologize.” You sat up, watching as the Nanami Kento flushed his eyes, avoiding yours. “You’ve been distant today; you went to get firewood by yourself and went back to Campus alone.” he ran a hand down his face. “Gojo had told me you wouldn’t mind staying in a tent with me, but that man was wrong.”
“No—god, Kento, I’m sorry.” You rubbed awkwardly at your neck. “I’m not uncomfortable at all! I’ve been so giddy all day because of you, so I guess I just seemed distant because I was in my world.”
Nanami shifts in his sleeping bag, focusing his attention on you. “You’re giddy because of me?” There is no going back now; it is now or never.
“Yes, because of your laugh and your smile.”
Nanami just blinked momentarily before the same smile from earlier graced his lips as he lay down, shaking his head. “Oh, you have no idea how relieved I am to hear that.” Your cheeks flushed down next to him. “So my smile, huh?” he cocked an eyebrow with a smirk.
“What can I say? I’m a simple woman.” Nanami chuckled softly, watching you closely. “You were really that worried I was uncomfortable?”
“Of course, you're the last person I’d ever want to make uncomfortable.”
“Oh, and why is that Kento?”
Honey brown eyes met yours as he inched closer. “Just like you, I get—“ he scoffed, “giddy around you.”
It felt hotter in the tent, so hot that you were kicking your sleeping bags down your legs, allowing you to inch yourself ever so closer to Nanami, freeing yourself from the confining blankets and, in a sense, the ropes that had metaphorically been holding you back. You moved closer. And you moved with the soft grind as you cut some of your hair behind your ear.
“Does the Nanami Kento like me?”
“If I said yes, what would you do?”
“Well, tell me, and you’ll find out.”
The sound of Nanami’s sleeping bag being unzipped and his smell invaded your space. “I like you.” You felt like the tension snapped in your shoulders as you jerked forward, cupping his face.
“I like you too.” Your lips pressed against his with a soft kiss. Ken didn’t flinch at the sudden intimate contact. Instead, he melted into it with his eyes shut. His hands slowly trailed up your arms, pulling you closer to him with a happy hum.
That small peck became more heated; Nanami’s teeth gently tugged at your bottom lip as he pulled you into his lap with a groan. You shifted your legs to straddle his hips, allowing you to grind against his. The taste of mint flooded the inside of your mouth, leaving you like putty in his arms while you ran your fingers through his soft, blonde hair, gently tugging at it by its roots.
“Haah~ shit.” Hearing a curse being breathed against your lips, you pulled away with a breathless laugh, leaving Nanami slightly frustrated at the sudden absence of your lips.
“Did you just curse?”
The man below you didn’t answer, and instead, he pushed you back against the sleeping bags, causing breath in your lungs to leave as he nudged your legs apart with his knee, allowing him to press himself directly against your crotch. “Yeah—“ he caught your lips with his and another heated kiss, “You’re going to be learning a lot more about me tonight, darling.” Almost all of Nanami’s weight presses down against you, and he begins rocking his hips against yours.
His erection pressed perfectly against your thin shorts; the seam in the middle of them hit your clit perfectly. Soft whimpers escaped your mouth and slipped into his as your arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him down tighter against your body as you dry-humped each other like a couple of teenagers. The was flooded with soft grunts and moans along with the shuffling of clothes as you both pushed past the barrier of colleagues and friends into something more.
He couldn’t get over how good you smelled and how sweet you tasted against his lips, making him run faster, his hands gripping your hips and holding them down as he thrusts faster against your pussy. He wanted you, God, and he had wanted you for years! To finally have you underneath him was a dream come true. One that was, unfortunately, most likely going to end like the wet dreams he had had countless times before. Nanami couldn't help it, though, the feel of your body against his, the sweet sounds you were allowing to spill from your mouth into his, already him on the edge. He pulled away from your mouth, a string of saliva connecting your lips.
“I’m sorry to admit this, but I’m not going to last very long.” He muttered, burying his face in the crook of your neck with a grunt.
“Me neither,” you whispered into his ear as your leg started to shake, “faster~ faster!”
Nanami obliged with a moan, rutting his hips faster against your teeth, clenched together, while you gasped, tilting your head back as the slow, steady grinding turned into a more feral, less synchronized pattern. It was turning into something that was more focused on the sweet relief of the building pressure that was going to burst. Sweat beaded on both you and Nanami’s forehead as his lips sucked and nipped at your sensitive neck, making you cry out softly.
Hearing your moans and feeling the way your clothed core twitched against his aching cock encouraged Nanami to grind his lips, moving harder, his fist digging into the blankets underneath as he threw his head back. The head of his cock rubbed frantically over your clit, pushing you closer to the edge. It was when your legs were wrapped around him that Nanami let his whole body hunched over yours as he moaned out loud.
“Cum, oh fuck I’m gonna—!!”
The way his hips rolled expertly against your clit, r your back arching off the ground as your eyes went wide. Both of you came at the same time, his hips stilling against yours for just a second before he thrusts frantically against you, drawing out both of your orgasms until you both that he finally stopped. You kissed each other lazily as your hands fisted the fabric of his shirt. As you closed, separating your bodies from each other, fingers running through your hair until you both broke apart and panting heavily.
“Ooh, shit—” Nanami said, planting several kisses against your cheek. “I feel like a teenager again.”
“Me too—” you giggled as Kento pulled away to smile down at you, fingers gently caressing your cheek. “You wanna do something else like a couple of teenagers?”
“Oh, and what do you have in mind??”
You sit up, grinning mischievous as you toss him his shoes. “Let’s blow this camping trip and head to an amazing twenty-four-hour bakery I know.”
The following morning, when Gojo crawls out of the tent with his blindfold in disarray, he notices you and Nanami are absent while the students are rebuilding a fire. Out of curiosity, he checked his messages on his phone and saw an unopened text. On his screen is a picture of you and Nanami grinning with food in front of you. The message underneath it read. ‘Thanks Wingman.’ Leaving Gojo hooting as he smacks Suguru with his pillow. When the dark-haired man sat up with a groan, Gojo showed him the message.
“Get up! We’ll ditch the tents and take the kids to celebrate with pancakes!”
Suguru narrowed his eyes at Gojo, a vein in his forehead twitching as he shook his head. “It’s too early for your shit Satoru.” He purred before kicking his sleeping bag off.
“I wonder if they’ll name their firstborn after me!”
“I doubt it.”

˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
seungcheol♡‧₊˚
you laughed, your head thrown back far enough to have you leaning on your elbow to keep you from falling. seungcheol stared at you in shock and annoyance. you and seungcheol were on the living room floor, playing uno. this round had gone on for an eternity, the deck disappearing and reappearing time and time again. through the luck of the draw, you pulled enough draw-four wildcards that you brought seungcheol from the brink of winning to a hand that consisted of over a dozen cards. he couldn't believe it. he lost. miserably. and all after the glorious win was close enough he could taste it.
yet, there he was, an obscene number of cards in his hands while you laughed in delight. his competitive nature had him fuming. he wanted to yell about how it wasn't fair, how you must've cheated, how a small rule wasn't followed, how a rematch was needed, and how there was no possible way this was how the game night would end. heat rose to his face, his body tingled, and he felt as though his chest was about to explode. you still laughed, wiping your tears in enough time to catch seungcheol tossing his cards on the floor, shifting his weight so he was right in front of you, and planting his lips on yours. your eyes went wide with surprise, but your body quickly relaxed at the warmth his presence wrapped you up in. the high energy of the moment before melted into a playful peace.
as soon as he leaned backward, a blush rushed to his cheeks, "sorry, i..i should've asked. i didn't mean to surprise you like that. i hope it was okay, i'm sorry, i just--"
you giggled and gently held his face with your right hand. he blushed even more, and he broke out into a shy smile.
"it's okay. i liked it."
you blushed, and he giggled. you leaned forward, sharing another sweet kiss. he wanted to keep kissing, so he repositioned himself to a more comfortable spot beside you. your hands found each other, fingers interlacing. before he leaned in for another kiss, you asked, "why'd you kiss me?"
he looked confused, so you added, "i mean, why now. i've definitely wanted to kiss you, so i'm just wondering what made this moment feel right."
seungcheol shrugged, cheeks and ears flushing again, "i liked seeing how happy you were when you won."
you both laughed, and then you kissed some more. of course, you had to take breaks when the giggling fits took over. hearing his precious laugh fill the room stirred up the butterflies in your stomach almost as intensely as his kisses. as he sat there, so close to you, he realized that, for once, seungcheol was happy he lost a game.
jeonghan♡‧₊˚
"jeonghannnnnnn," you whined.
“what?” jeonghan asked, completely unbothered in tone and facial expression, except for a mischievous sparkle in his eyes.
“you’re being so mean!” you pouted, not really upset but rendered nearly speechless by his unending teasing.
“what’re you talking about?” he tilted his head in faux confusion, “i’m just enjoying the story of you ordering at the coffee shop.”
you dropped your head into your hands, “ugh! you’re enjoying it a bit too much. it’s not my fault i was so sleepy that i forgot what name to give them for second, a second.”
he laughed, “it’s your name! how could you forget your own name?”
“clearly i needed the coffee i was ordering,” you glared at him, “are you trying to tell me that you’ve never embarrassed yourself like that?”
jeonghan expressed deep contemplation, though you knew he was not looking through his memories for awkward moments he survived, “nope. i’ve never done anything like that.”
“i hate you,” you frowned.
he cocked his head to the side, “hmm, do you really hate me?”
you nodded emphatically, “yes.”
jeonghan sighed, “well, i guess i have to get my revenge on you by telling the guys about your identity crisis at the cafe.”
“jeonghannnnnn!” you pouted.
“aigoo,” jeonghan cooed as he held you face in both his hands.
you avoided eye contact, not wanting to break your frustrated demeanor. it didn’t matter to jeonghan, though. he simply watched you fondly for a second before pressing a kiss to your pouted lips. you quickly looked up at him with wide eyes, causing him to smirk at your flustered face. he hummed contentedly, kissing you again briefly, and then returned to his previous lounging position.
“i’ll take your silence as a truce,” jeonghan remarked, enjoying the sight of your dropped jaw from the corner of his eye.
“no, no way! that’s not…” you shook your head to get your brain working again, even if you only managed to find a little bit of a brain cell, “that’s not fair. you cheated.”
giggling erupted from his lips, “i cheated? at what?”
you stared at him incredulously, “at your revenge! how am i supposed to plot my perfect revenge plan when you kiss me out of nowhere? it’s distracting.”
jeonghan turned his face to you, eyeing you with mischievous eyes once again, “in that case, i think you’ll just have to kiss me to get even. it’s only fair, if we’re playing by your rules.”
you rolled your eyes, but barely a second passed before you took jeonghan’s face in your hands and kissed him. from up close, you could see the blush on his skin and the upward twitch of his lips into a bashful smile. he wasn’t so invincible, after all. at least, not when it came to you.
joshua♡‧₊˚
it was a perfect walk home after a perfect dinner date. joshua took you somewhere you had been wanting to try for a while, and the atmosphere was quiet and cozy, which put both of you in a wonderful mood. when you stepped outside, there was a chill in the air, and, before you could even shiver, shua had slipped out of his jacket and wrapped it around your shoulders. his hand remained on your shoulder, gently leading you onto the road as he smiled beside you. once you were on your way, he interlocked his fingers with yours. you smiled at the warmth spreading from your palm throughout your body, smiling even wider as joshua lightly swung your hands back and forth while you walked down the street. if it weren't for the sound of vehicles passing by, you could've sworn shua was humming your favorite song.
"i had a really great time tonight," you turned your head toward him.
he raised an eyebrow, "'had'?"
you rolled your eyes, "fine. i'm having a really good time tonight."
he nodded his head approvingly, "that's better."
shua continued walking, but you stopped in your tracks. he wasn't the only one who could tease around here.
his body stumbled when your frozen position yanked him backward. his doe eyes went wide, shock and confusion blending with endeared amusement.
"are you going to tell me what kind of time you're having tonight?"
you cocked an eyebrow. joshua held back a laugh as he stepped towards you, not wanting to be an arm's length away. he stopped when he was standing right in front of you. he looked at you, eyes bright, and he took your other hand in his. you kept your faux inquisitive gaze on him, waiting for his response.
"i'm having..." he whispered, leaning in close.
his lips softly brushed against yours. you felt him squeeze your hands gently, encouraging you to melt into the kiss. you didn't need much convincing, letting your eyes flutter shut so you could relish in the sweetness of his lips on yours.
he breathed out softly as he rested his forehead on yours, "a really good time tonight."
you giggled, lips buzzing from the exciting contact you wanted to have with joshua over and over again. he smiled proudly, tilting his head in the direction of your home to signal you should keep walking. knowing him, he'd plant more kisses on your lips when he said "goodnight" at your door, so you didn't resist as he led you home. you actually leaned in close to him, hearing clearly the hums that absentmindedly escaped him.
a few minutes later, there's a slight crackling in the sky, quickly followed by raindrops.
"ah man," joshua huffed, "i should've been more patient. this would've been the perfect moment for our first kiss!"
you rolled your eyes, "it was perfect, shua. now let's get going before we're completely drenched."
he pouted, "okay, okay. just promise me you'll let me kiss you goodnight outside your front door? we need to have our movie moment there since we missed the kissing in the rain one!"
junhui♡‧₊˚
“okay, let’s try this again,” you sighed, “you put your fingers like this and pull.”
you demonstrated slowly, holding up the formation of your cat’s cradle for jun to see. his brow was furrowed in intense concentration with a splash of confusion, but he nodded when you asked if he was ready to try again. when he did, he got his fingers stuck in the string halfway through the process for the twentieth time. jun groaned in frustration.
“i’m never going to get this!” he pouted while you untangled his fingers.
“you can do it, jun. it just takes some patience,” you reminded him.
he rolled his eyes, and you set the strings back up properly. you walked him through it, step by step, taking care to explain in detail the bit he was messing up. despite your and his best efforts, the string knotted up, rather than fitting evenly across his fingers.
“it’s useless! you should just play this with soonyoung or something,” jun frowned, “i’m sure he’d get this stupid game.”
“hey!” you nudged his shoulder, “the game’s not stupid, and i don’t want to play it with soonyoung. i want to play it with you, even if you can’t figure it out right away.”
“how is dealing with me mess up the game more fun than actually playing it?” jun asked, genuinely curious.
though his question was harmless, you couldn’t help the annoyance that crossed your features. the answer was obvious, to everyone but jun apparently. you huffed in reply, opting to set up the cat’s cradle with your fingers rather than explain yourself. jun couldn’t handle the look on your face, especially since he knew it was his whining that made your face pucker up like that. he wanted, needed, to cheer you up, so, without thinking, he leaned forward from his spot on the couch and kissed you. the rush of adrenaline you felt lifted your hands to either side of his face, as you happily kissed him back, string completely forgotten in your lap. it was as though you had kissed a million times before, which made you certain you wanted to share at least a million more kisses with him, even if it meant he would never figure out how to play a silly childhood game.
jun pulled away and booped the tip of your nose with his, “at least i understand how to do that.”
you bit your lip to hide the excited smile growing on your face, but jun made no such effort. he beamed at you, giggling at this turn of events. he wanted to kiss you again, but he got nervous, so he picked the string up from your lap.
“should we try it again?” jun paused when you raised your eyebrows, smirking as he said, “if i figure it out, i get to kiss you as much as i want. deal?”
“what do i get if you can’t figure it out?” you raised your eyebrow playfully.
“you get to kiss me as much as you want. or i could buy you a meal sometime.”
you giggled, “i’ll take the first option, thank you. now give me your hands.”
soonyoung♡‧₊˚
soonyoung cheered as you walked into the practice room, running over to you and engulfing you in a sweet and sweaty bear hug.
“i didn’t even bring snacks and you’re this excited to see me?”
his body visibly buzzed as he nodded enthusiastically, “nothing makes me happier than seeing you!”
a little shocked and extremely endeared, you smiled widely. soonyoung, realizing his confession, blushed profusely. as a distraction, he wrapped his hand around yours and led you to the perfect spot against the mirror from where you could watch him practice. of course, he wasn’t going to get back into the dancing right away, as he couldn’t and wouldn’t resist your company.
he played one of your favorite chill mixes, sat down on the floor right across from you, and asked you all about your day. his smile and eyes were bright as he listened, holding onto every last detail as though it were a precious gift. his interest in what you had for lunch was so genuine your heart could burst. he only spoke once he was satisfied that he had heard every detail about how you had spent your day before coming to visit him.
“can i tell you something?”
soonyoung looked bashful, so you made sure caught his gaze when you answered, “yes, of course!”
a small chuckle fell out from his mouth, “well, actually, i would like to ask you something, if that’s okay?”
you giggled, leaning forward so he knew you were serious, “ask away, soonyoung.”
he beamed at the sound of you saying his name. fingers fidgeting with his pants, he leaned forward to reduce the distance between you two. his proximity made your cheeks flush, and you were certain they were on fire when soonyoung asked you the question that had been on his mind all day.
“can i kiss you?”
a small smile rested on his lips and his eyes watched you attentively while he waited for your answer. after your brain buffered a little bit, you nodded happily and muttered out some form of “yes.” soonyoung blushed in front of you, gently grabbing your hands in his. once he held onto you enough to know he wasn’t dreaming, he closed his eyes and leaned forward until his lips met yours. it was heavenly, sweet like candy, and it would’ve lasted for an eternity if soonyoung’s giggle hadn’t bubbled from his lips into the kiss. you couldn’t help but giggle too, feeling like a child on the playground sneaking a kiss during recess. soonyoung really made everything feel lighthearted.
you two sat there giggling, until soonyoung’s excitement spread throughout his body and brought him back on his feet. you cheered him on as he danced, laughing each time he took a random break to kiss you, again and again and again.
wonwoo♡‧₊˚
there was something so dreamy about watching movies with wonwoo. the blankets were always perfectly soft, the snacks were always exactly what you were craving, and your bodies always cuddled together in the most natural way. you had movie nights together before you started going out, which meant that you already shared a comfortable tradition by the time you confessed your feelings to each other. that’s how you ended up snuggled up on the couch, watching eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. another perfect, sweet night spent with your perfect, sweet partner.
you watched as the female lead, clementine, sat down by the male lead, joel, on the beach. when she commented on how he seemed normal because he also didn’t know how to talk to people at parties, you chuckled and nudged wonwoo’s shoulder with yours. he chuckled too, knowing what you meant without you having to say it. both of you were quiet and wistfully watching as the world around the lovers disintegrated. neither of you could help the tears that threatened to slip when the characters kiss goodbye before the important memory fades completely. wonwoo sighed deeply, clearly sad for the couple on the screen.
“i could never forget you,” you whispered.
wonwoo tilted his head so he faced you, pausing before he spoke, either finding the right words or the courage to say them, “i could never live with myself if i gave you a reason to forget me.”
the movie buzzed in the room, but a special silence hung between you two. his irises spun, mixing adoration, fondness, earnestness together as he stared at you. the look in his eyes didn’t change as he leaned forward. even when he closed his eyes, you knew those feelings reflected in his gaze hadn’t faded. you felt them as he lips interlocked with yours. you felt those feelings rush through your veins as the warmth of his kiss rushed over your skin. your bodies pressed even closer together, holding each other with genuine care, the kind that lived in the bodies of people who were falling deeply in love. when your mouths separated to catch your breath, your eyes never left the other.
the ending credits of the film played. you both turned your heads, and wonwoo laughed a little as he said, “looks like we missed the ending.”
you chuckled, snuggling up against him, “i think it was worth it.”
“even if you missed them getting their happy ending?”
“mhm,” you hummed and took wonwoo’s hand in yours, “i’d rather focus on our happy ending.”
he chuckled, at a loss for words, which happened more often than he’d like to admit when it came to you. even in the dim light on the room, you could see the pink of wonwoo’s ears. unable to resist, you kissed his cheek, leaning in for more when he turned to face you with a lovestruck smile.
jihoon♡‧₊˚
you tapped your knuckles softly against the door, not wanting to disturb jihoon. of course, he would know your knock before the second rap of your fist against the frame sounded, so he opened the door with a warm, albeit tired, smile.
"i brought gifts, as promised," you cheerily held up a bag of takeout and a collection of snacks and drinks from the convenience store next to the studio.
jihoon chuckled at your actions, gesturing toward the table against the wall for you to place the "gifts." you hummed as you unpacked all the items you purchased, and, unbeknownst to you, jihoon watched you with the fondest look in his eyes. he tried to play it cool when you turned to him, but nothing melted him like the way you glowed when you smiled.
“how’s the song coming along?” you asked, opening the bottle of his favorite drink and passing it to him.
he sighed, “it’s fine. i’m stuck on the bridge. i know i want to rearrange a part of it, but i can’t really figure out exactly how i want to. it’s like the perfect version is on the tip of my tongue.”
you hummed, knowing exactly what he meant, given this was one of many nights you visited him as he stayed late in the studio, “would it help if i listened to it? maybe if you show me a couple different versions, you can figure out the right reaction you want the listener to have.”
“that could help,” his shoulders relaxed a little bit, and he took a sip of his drink, “after we eat, though. how was your day?”
“it wasn’t too bad,” you popped some of your favorite snack into your mouth, “i wanted to be more productive today, but i got really tired after doing only two things on my to-do list.”
“you need to rest. you work plenty hard every day, so it’s important to let yourself do nothing sometimes.”
you snickered at his nagging, “you should take your own advice.”
he rolled his eyes, “i do nothing sometimes.”
“mhm, sure you do,” you pointed at the unopened bag in his hand, “eat. i’m sure you skipped having a proper dinner because you’ve been so focused on the song.”
the corner of his mouth revealed that he was fighting a smile, “yeah, yeah.”
you stared at him, clearly not moving on until he took a bite of food. he stared back, acting like he wouldn’t back down either. he probably would’ve held out, if it weren’t for the gratitude he felt toward you. once again, you came to his side when he was stressed and overworking, not to scold him but to keep him company and make sure he was taking care of himself. these thoughts were on the forefront of his mind, so he didn’t notice when his feet led him toward you. if it weren’t for the quickening of his heartbeat, he wouldn’t have noticed that he was millimeters away from your lips. before he could psyche himself out of it, he closed his eyes and kissed you. you nearly dropped the food in your hands, but jihoon wrapped his around yours, to hold you and to prevent you from making a mess. a blush covered his face when he broke the kiss, but he managed to give you another quick peck before he stepped away from you.
“thank you for coming over,” he smiled sheepishly.
“yeah, uh…no…no problem. i’m…i’m happy to be here.”
he chuckled at your stuttering, “mmm. want to listen to that song now?”
you nodded, trying to regulate your heartbeat as you settled into your usual seat behind jihoon’s and he gingerly placed headphones over your ears.
seokmin♡‧₊˚
you laughed as seokmin gestured wildly and dramatically belted out the key note in the OST track you two were currently obsessed with. of course, even with his antics, he sung angelically. laughing while being in awe of his talent was one of the many benefits of dating seokmin. another benefit was that he would always sing to you, which was about the best experience in the world. even just humming while he looked at you made you feel as though you were the center of the universe. for the same reason, he loved when you sang to him, and he loved even more when you sang with him. it didn’t matter whether your voice was perfect; seokmin adored the closeness you shared when you sang together. in the car, in the living room, in the park, wherever you were when the moment struck, seokmin was head over heels for how it felt to hear your voices intertwined.
this moment was no different. as soon as seokmin heard “SoulMate” start, he rushed to you, grabbing your hand in his and smiling oh so sweetly. that sunshine smile could convince you to do anything, and you happily sang your usual parts while seokmin looked at you with very visible heart eyes. he swung your intertwined hands back and forth as he serenaded you, even using this point of contact to lead you around the room as you two danced to the beat together. in his joy, he made a silly combination of dance moves, which you followed, much to his delight.
it wasn’t serious, but it was sincere, which made it all the more fun.
your giggles were bouncing off the walls during the instrumental bits, bleeding into your voices as you sang the final lines of the song. seokmin twirled you around as the finale to your impromptu choreography, grinning at you when you stood right in front of him. neither of you noticed the next song start. all you could do was stare at each other, so endeared and enchanted by the moment.
seokmin kept smiling as he brought himself closer to you, his nose softly brushing against yours when your lips touched. when your lips connected, everything else faded away. it was just you, seokmin, and whatever background music swelled through the room during this moment. it was sweet; it was magical; it was perfect for the two of you.
seokmin smiled even brighter as he watched you up close, “i think we should duet more often.”
you nodded, leaning in for another kiss, “i agree.”
seokmin happily exchanged kisses with you, ignoring the music until one of his favorite songs came on. he kissed you on the cheek, grinning as he stepped away to break into a very dramatic and enthusiastic dance. while you missed the feeling of his lips on yours, you laughed at his showmanship, clapping your hands to cheer him on.
mingyu♡‧₊˚
mingyu’s fingers tapped frantically against his leg. his brow furrowed, and his gaze was nowhere near the pot that simmered in front of him. his ears clearly weren’t tuned into reality either because, even as the sound of erratic bubbles boiling filled the room, mingyu didn’t move a muscle. thankfully, you were there.
“mingyu!” you exclaimed, grabbing the pot from the stove just in time to prevent a flood onto the burner.
he blinked a few times, registering what had happened. after the fourth blink, his eyes went wide, “ah! are you okay? did you get burned? are you hurt?”
the corner of your mouth turned upward, a grateful smile the most natural reaction to mingyu’s caretaking nature. you turned down the heat and placed the pot back in its original place, so the meal wasn’t derailed any longer. mingyu’s eyes searched around your body for visible wounds, continuing his search by grabbing your arm and inspecting your forearm with gentle fingertips in search of anything amiss.
“i’m fine, gyu.”
he let out a relieved breath. his puppy smile returned to his face, clearly happy to be back down to the earth that had you on it.
“are you okay? you were a million miles away,” your face was covered in concern, causing mingyu’s gaze to drop and his shoulders to slump.
“i’m fine,” he nearly whispered, “things are just…a little…stressful right now. that’s all.”
you sighed. you took a step closer to him, brushing hair out of his face as you guided him to look back up at you. instinctively, his head leaned into your palm, his body relaxing at your familiar touch.
“you can tell me if something’s wrong, you know? i want you to tell me when you’re stressed out, hurt, upset, or anything like that. i want to be there for you, and i always am, but i’d feel better knowing what’s going on in that head of yours. if i know what’s going on, i can help you better.”
mingyu’s eyes sparkled with adoration and tears. his hand held your face lightly, thumb stroking your cheek. your eyelids fluttered shut, savoring his warm touch in a quiet kitchen on an afternoon spent between just the two of you. nothing felt better than this.
or so you thought. you thought that right up until you felt mingyu’s breath fan against your lips, up until his mouth connected with yours, a gesture so tender and delicate you would’ve thought it were a dream if not for the way mingyu’s other hand came up to cup your face. the warmth of his palms and the heat of his lips enveloped you, and you sighed into the kiss, letting your whole self fall into the fleeting moment of divinity.
you opened your eyes when mingyu rested his forehead against yours. his eyes, still sparkling, examined your features for signs of discomfort or trepidation. they crinkled with a smile when he found nothing but a blissful daze coating your features.
“thank you,” he whispered.
“i should be thanking you,” you smiled, “you’re the one who kissed me.”
he let out a chuckle, “you’re welcome. but that’s not why i was thanking you.”
“oh?”
he kissed the tip of your nose, smiling brightly, “thank you for caring about me.”
minghao♡‧₊˚
“do you promise i didn’t wake you?”
you laughed into the phone, “yes, minghao, i promise you didn’t wake me.”
“good, good.”
the pause lasted longer than you expected, so you shifted in bed to sit up, “what’s going on, hao?”
he sighs, “i just…well, i know after traveling all day i should be fast asleep, but i would really like to see you. would you mind if i came over?”
your heart burst at his sweet voice and request, “of course you can come over. would you like me to make you some tea?”
he could hear the blankets rustle as you stood up from your bed, and he smiled, “that would be lovely. thank you.”
“mhm,” you stretched lightly, making your way to the kitchen, “i’ll see you soon.”
you weren’t lying when you told minghao that he hadn’t woken you up when he called. sure, you had been on the verge of falling asleep, but you missed minghao so much while he was away that you were constantly keeping an eye out for a message or call from him. that’s why you answered after the first ring, sleep falling away to make room for desire to see minghao.
you were peacefully staring off into space, waiting for the kettle to finish boiling the water. just as you were pouring hot water into minghao’s mug, you heard a knock at the door. a sleepy minghao greeted you as you opened the door, shuffling into your place before he wrapped you in his arms. he lingered in the hug, breathing in your scent and sighing contentedly. you held onto his hand as you led him to the kitchen where two mugs of tea awaited you.
he watched you lovingly as you took your first sip, hiding his smile by taking a sip from his mug. you two stood in a comfortable silence, happily taking in the sight of the other after a time apart, only being able to see each other through screens.
“how was your flight?”
he hummed in contemplation, “uneventful.”
you giggled at the excited tone behind his description, “that must’ve been nice.”
he giggled at your giggle, “it’s much nicer to be here.”
“ah, i forgot how cheesy you are when you’re tired.”
“i can’t help it,” he smiled, “it’s hard to resist when i missed you so much and when you blush at everything i say.”
“i do not blush at everything you say!” you protested.
more of his cute giggle rang in the room. he set his mug down, took a couple of steps so he was right in front of you, and wrapped his arms around your waist. he smiled sweetly as he watched you. you fought the blush threatening to break through your skin, but you let the gleeful smile reserved only for him grace your face.
minghao whispered, so as not to disrupt the delicate late-night calm that surrounded you two, “you look so pretty right now. can i please kiss you?”
your mouth dropped open in surprise, though it quickly turned to a grin in response to his straightforwardness. out of fear of sounding too eager, you nodded, gripping onto your warm mug of tea to remind yourself that this was real life. minghao giggled again as he brought his face right in front of yours. he paused, beautiful brown eyes savoring the sight of you up close.
“are you sure?”
behind his teasing tone, you sensed his nervousness. instead of saying “yes,” you pressed your lips against his. his fingertips squeezed slightly where he held your waist, perhaps also needing a reminder himself that this was real life. when you pulled away, he couldn’t stop his giggles. he was simply so delighted to have finally kissed you. when he watched you giggle happily, he knew he didn’t care whether he woke you up, if it meant he could spend the rest of the night kissing you again and again until you both drifted off to sleep.
seungkwan♡‧₊˚
“no, no, no,” seungkwan shook his head, “you have to turn like this.”
he slowly, and exaggeratedly, mimicked the exact part of the choreography you were struggling with. he motioned for you to try it, and he huffed in frustration when you still were finishing the turn a beat early. after a few more attempts at mirroring seungkwan, he shook his hand in the air to signal that you were done for the time being.
“ah, i swear,” he put his hands on his hips, “if you weren’t serious about learning Twice’s choreography, you shouldn’t have asked me to teach you.”
he was being serious himself, his competitive side coming out despite it being just the two of you, so you held back your laugh, “i am serious about learning Twice’s choreography from you.”
seungkwan looked at you incredulously, “so you’re not in it for the dancing?”
you couldn’t help the laugh that escaped you, “i’m mostly in it to hang out with you, dumby. learning the choreo is a bonus.”
to hide the smile forming on his face, he rolled his eyes and dramatically turned away from you, “well, if you want to keep hanging out with me, you need to get this right. let’s try it again from the pre-chorus. if you don’t get the combination right, i’m never hanging out with you again!”
seungkwan shot you a glare to let you know he meant what he said, so you hid your giggle behind your hand. once the music was playing through the speaker, he counted you in. you did your absolute best, following seungkwan’s moves and finding your groove in the song. the cursed combination was only a few counts away, so you focused with all your might on executing it correctly. perhaps through a miracle, or, more likely, the intensity of seungkwan’s gaze on you from the mirror, you finally turned the way you had been begging your body to for an hour. you moved to finish the chorus, but you were interrupted by seungkwan screaming.
“you did it! you’re amazing! i knew you had it in you! i’m so proud! that’s main dancer energy!”
seungkwan grinned as he ran toward you and celebrated your success. he didn’t skip a beat between singing his praises and excitedly kissing you. your mouth dropped open out of surprise, and his eyes went as wide as saucers.
“we should get back to the routine,” seungkwan moved backwards, stumbling over his feet and blushing furiously, “just because you got the combination once doesn’t mean you can let your guard down. repetition is–”
“seungkwan!”
he tripped over his feet before you could reach forward to catch him. he burst into embarrassed laughter and covered his face with his hands. you laughed too, kneeling beside him to make sure he wasn’t seriously injured.
“don’t look at me,” he mumbled into his hands.
you giggled, “hmm, how am i supposed to learn more of the dance if i can’t look at you?”
seungkwan peeked at you through his fingers, “so you are serious about learning Twice’s choreography?”
you nodded, giggling as you helped him up. before you took your place behind him in the practice room, you snuck a kiss to his cheek, which made him malfunction even more. trying to keep his cool, he moved right into reviewing the next set of moves, but you could see very clearly the bright pink tips of his ears.
hansol♡‧₊˚
your eyes were closed, as you rested comfortably on a pillow and blanket on the living room floor. hansol lied down next to you, sharing half of the pair of headphones you wore. he had asked you to come over, so you could listen to some music he thought you would like. you happily obliged, eager for some quality time with him and his impeccable music taste.
the floor whispered beside you and, softly and sweetly, hansol's hand brushed against yours. an unspoken agreement, your hand opened, only to close when your palms were nestled against each other. you heard a light rustling, so you turned your head toward hansol. his fluffy hair laid in a subtle mess against his face and the pillow beneath him. his dark brown eyes sparkled so intensely, that, if you did not know so deeply the brightness inside him, you would've thought you were hallucinating. your mouth opened, but your mind couldn't come up with anything to say. the music was too moving, the man beside you much too breathtaking to leave room for conversation. hansol, observant as ever, let out a light chuckle, lips upturned as innocently as the amused crinkle in his eyes.
the song trailed off, slowly fading into a new one, and he nudged his way closer to you, "hey."
you smiled, cheeked pressed against your own pillow and your heart pounding at the proximity, "hey."
he watched you, gently and up close, and the softness of it all threatened to set you on fire. his tenderness would burn you alive with delight. you were sure of it.
hansol was sure of something else, too, "i really like being here with you. listening to music, like this."
heat rushed to your cheeks, and you smiled even brighter. hansol squeezed your hand lightly as he brought himself next to you, shoulder to shoulder, noses touching. those darling eyes looked at you again, flickering down to your lips and back up to meet your gaze, inquisitive and kind. you nodded, a movement so slight he would not have noticed it if he were any farther from you. thankfully, he was right where he needed to be, and he brought his mouth to yours.
you let out a dreamy sigh, absorbing the caress of hansol's lips against yours and the wafting melody of the song he had picked out just for you. too soon, the kiss ended, and, when you opened your eyes, you saw his were still closed. unable to resist, you kissed the tip of his nose, giggling as his brown eyes shot open, bewilderment and fondness filling his gaze.
"i really like being here with you," you whispered, earning a blush and gummy smile from hansol.
chan♡‧₊˚
a chorus of cheers and whoops broke out behind you as you and chan walked out of the club. it turned out that with the right combination of alcohol, dancing, and camaraderie, an intense and life-threatening craving for ice cream and snacks will take over your group of friends on a night out. it also turned out that, because your friends and his friends knew there was a little something more between you and chan, you two were nominated as the official snack saviors.
the noise of the club and your friends melted away, punctuating the sound of your laughter mixing with chan's on the somewhat quiet street. not wanting to miss the moment, your gaze lingered on chan's side profile, his smile bursting with joy at the ridiculousness of the people he holds close.
"we were chosen for this...why, again?"
chan cocked his head sideways, his signature playful glint in his eyes setting off the butterflies in your stomach. trying to conceal your panic, you rolled your eyes, chuckling a bit yourself.
"because we're the lucky ones."
"hmmmm," chan nodded, furrowed brow proving he was genuinely considering your statement.
"well," he grinned, reaching into his pocket, "seungkwan-hyung is the lucky one who gets to buy snacks for everyone."
you burst out laughing as he showed off seungkwan's wallet like a product in a late-night infomercial. your laughter showered him with serotonin, his grin soon giving way to a fit of laughter. you two managed to continue down the sidewalk toward the convenience store without falling over, despite the tears in your eyes and the silly looks shared between you. once the fluorescent light poured onto the ground at your feet, you paused to catch your breath. right when you took a deep breath to calm your heartbeat, a gasp fell out of your mouth as chan's hand playfully grabbed your wrist. the movement and your curiosity made you face chan, whose mischievous eyes had returned full force.
"chan? what're you...?"
he stepped forward, pulling your arm enough to close the remaining gap of space between you. chan's smile never faltered, even growing when he saw your eyes widen as he leaned in. even when his lips pressed against yours, you could tell his smile hadn't completely disappeared. if you were being honest, you could practically taste his glee, mixed right in with the alcohol from the club. you smiled into the kiss, unable to resist the heavenly happiness chan brought to you. his other hand found its way to your face when he broke the kiss. his thumb traced your cheekbone, relishing in the proximity you shared.
"we really are the lucky ones, huh?"
you rolled your eyes, covering his hand with your own and meeting his lips for another sweet kiss. your friends could wait. you two had a more important mission to complete first.

today is another day of smooth sailing. all classes have gone smoothly, great feedback from your teacher and completely undisturbed. friends take too much time. you're routinely tucking the chairs under the large table, humming as you enjoy the silence, admiring the warm glow cast on the brown table. a sudden creak of the door makes you look up in surprise, expecting to see a council member, but being thoroughly surprised when you see a group of boys enter.
"i don't know what event is going on but i can help you find it." you offer, stopping your cleaning.
"don't worry princess we're here for you." kuroo chuckles, and the whole lot let themselves in. oikawa, bokuto, kuroo, daichi, ushijima, daichi, terushima and kita. that sentences strikes something in you, but you're not quite sure what.
"listen guys, I'm not sure what you're here for but i-"
they pay no mind to you as they get comfortable on the other side of the room, one of them setting up the computer, the other setting the projector.
irritation starts to surge through you again, feeling disrespected that these boys just barged into your space, took over your equipment and shushed you.
"why are you even in here, what question would you guys possibly have had to ask me that would need a whole room to discuss it in and my projector?" you ask but receive no response. instead, bokuto closes the blinds and oikawa prompts a chair in your direction for you to sit on.
oh.
due to the room being dimmed, the projector, which you didn't know was on, reveals a video about to be played. it is quite hard for you to make out exactly what the video is all about because of the dim screen.
a voice. someone speaks up, "spring break, march the 24th, ring any bells so far?" kuroo asks, stepping forward.
march the 24th? anything could have happened on that day how am I supposed to remember-
"saturday night" oikawa adds on. you look down trying to remember, trying to think. you spent most of your spring break at home so what was so special about saturday night?
at that particular thought, it hits you. you immediately feel all life, blood and confidence flush out of your face as a wave of uncertain coolness tickles through your bones. they couldn't know. Hhow would they anyway?
"i don't know what you mean i was probably studying-" you say trying to play it off only to get interrupted by daichi.
"should we rejog your memory sweetheart? the house a couple blocks down was hosting a party. "
"and? i don't even go to parties."
"you don't but you did that one time, getting so drunk."
shit.
maybe if i deny, deny deny they'll leave me alone.
"i don't even know what you're talking about. you're lying and you have no proof of anything. this is stupid i'm going." you say, feeling a couple of millilitres of confidence restored within your blood.
as you stand up to leave Ushijima finally plays the video. The one you're dreading to see.
"is this thing even on? ugh, whatever." It's you, your naked body appears on screen as you back away from the camera, drunk giggles leaving your lips as you stumble towards the other intoxicated guy on the bed.
you climb on top of the naked male with reddened eyes. the both of you begin kissing and not soon after your start rocking your hips back and forth as he guides you by placing his hands on your ass. "oh fuck." your moan comes out slow and slurred as you slightly tilt your head back. your hand reaches for the roll of weed on the window sill. after a long inhale, you tilt your head up and breathe it out through your nose and mouth.
"that was fuckin hot," the male says, his fingers rubbing your now-hardened nipples.
completely taken back you draw your attention away from the video and to the boys in the room with you. the energy of their smirks radiated off every single one of them. " H-How did you?"
"we have our ways, "oikawa says, showing you his phone screen. "all we had to do was start from there and dig our research deeper." you're feeling sick, your stomach drops deeper and deeper.
i don't understand. why?
"i'm sure you know who we are by now y/n, and i'm sure a smart girl like you can figure out that we always get what we want." oikawa adds.
"what are you gonna do blackmail me?" you scoff, crossing you arms, desperate to gain any form of power back.
"precisely."
"good luck with that."
ushijima steps forward from the dark, "we don't need luck, we have our resources to get you to do exactly what we want from you."
"and what exactly do you want."
"to have a little fun." bokuto chirps in, a seemingly innocent smile.
"fun?"
"fun! it's all just fun and games after all."
"is this some sort of joke? God." you feel hot, you feel butterflies, you feel nauseous. you want to cry, you don't know why they're doing this. it all feels like some cruel joke.
"if this was a little prank would we have gone this far?" as if he can read your mind terushima answers your dying questions. "we're serious y/n, and you'll do as we say or else the real principal can know what a filthy slut you are and you can say goodbye to your dream school."
"you don't get to call me a fucking slut you bastard."
"feisty now are we?" kuroo chuckles, a sick, sadistic smile twisted on his face, reeling in pleasure from your downfall.
daichi steps in, aiming to calm your agitation down, "play nice and no one needs to get hurt. what do you say?"
to no avail, your quick temperament controls your tongue, "i say to hell with you guys. fuck you guys honestly."
"i didn't know you were so eager to throw your perfect records and perfect life behind. All those grades, clubs, sports all for what y/n?" terushima jeers. it hits you like it never has. failure to adhere could lead to all of it being gone, in an instant. permanent life alteration, and permanent loss of self-esteem. permanent exiled from your own mother.
you voice, meek and feeble, speaks up, "what do you want me to do? how long does this last?"
"we want you to have sex with us for till graduation."
"you want to exploit me and besides that's so far away."
"no can do."
"can't you take it back or-"
"rules are rules."
"now, we're giving you a choice, to accept or to not accept is up to you. the consequences you face based off either action is all dependent on you." the options lay in your palms, ready to be picked but it's clear which option you've been given the 'autonomy' to choose.
a single tear finally managed to escape past your walls, rolling down your cheek as you let out a signal sob. your hand rushes to cover your mouth, utterly embarrassed of being forced so low. you hair droops in front of your face, shielding it from the shame as you hiccup another pitiful sob or two. it is almost heartbreaking, but they don't care enough to give up their fun. with a forced, shuddery sigh you respond
"i'll do it."
you're their property.

❗️ANXIFEAR MINI FIC FROM MY NEW COLLEGE AU ❗️
So I got 6 hours of sleep last night because of this idea so APPRECIATE WHAT YA GETTING XD /j
This AU is still in the works, but all the info in this post is set information, send me your ideas in the comments or in asks, I'd be more then happy to hear them! ^^
I didn't get to draw anything for this sadly, but I picture them looking like @eechytooru 's humanizations of the two,
Now, narration mode on-
Warning for one f bomb I guess xD
It's the beginning of a new semester, Fear's a young college teacher in the mathematics faculty. He's been working there for about 3 years. Anxiety is a new teacher and this is her first semester teaching, she's a history teacher in the human science department.
Fear is just finishing up a lecture, when Anxiety barges in holding her material, her coffee and her notes. Her glasses are tilted and her hair's clipped up in it's usual messy style. When she looks up, she sees a full classroom of adults and a startled Fred looking straight at her.
Oh my bad, forgot to mention their human names hehe. Fear is Frederick Fitzgerald, because it's silly but trying to be serious, like him, and Anxiety is Anna-lee Tyson, just cuz I like how that sounds lol. Back to my narration,
She scrambles with her things and apologizes profusely to Mr. Fitzgerald. He urges her not to worry as he was just giving his ending speech and he dismisses the class. Anna awkwardly says goodbye to the students as they are leaving, while Fred starts packing his things. She approaches the front desk and sets her things down. They start up some small talk.
At this point, Fred has seen Anna around campus. He's found her little quirks fascinating; how she always carries too much in her arms, how she presses too hard on her PC's keys, how she supplements her coffee with energy drinks. It makes his stomach twist in a way that's farmiliar to him, but he denies putting any feelings forward to keep things professional. Anna rarely pays attention to her surroundings, she stays in her head much of the time, so this is her first time meeting him.
"I'm sorry again for the interruption," she repeats herself.
"Oh there's no need to apologize, Miss?"
"Tyson, Anna-Lee Tyson," she started to organize her supplies.
"Charmed, Frederick Fitzgerald. I've been interrupted by far worse. Students, other staff, KIDS EVEN!" He continued putting away his personal items.
"Kids?!"
"Yes, sadly, some single parents have to bring their children to class from lack of available childcare."
"Ugh, childcare should be more accessible to single parent students," she protested.
Fred shock his head in agreement.
"... Do you have any children M. Fitzgerald?"
He was taken aback by this question. Fred is a little ashamed he doesn't have kids at his age. He thinks if he had a partner by now, he probably would have-
Seeing his awkward reaction, she takes back the question:
"I'm sorry, you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable, I-"
Fred laughs it off, "No no, it's OK but... do I look that old to you?"
"No! I mean- of course not!" She assured him, although it seemed more as if she was reassuring herself.
And he laughs some more, "You would probably guess correctly to be frank."
"... Are you daring me to guess your age?"
"Yes, go on," he smiled, amused, and leaned on the desk.
So she tries to guess: "... 40?"
Fred jerked back and put his hand to his chest dramatically.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" She apologized once more, shaking her hands nervously.
He chuckles, "No, you weren't too far off! I'm 37."
"Oh! OK, I got close!"
"Ya! May I try guessing your age?"
"Sure, go ahead," she smiled.
To this, he leans back on the desk and strikes a thinking pose dramatically, guessing 25 in a flirtatious manner.
She giggles, "You're kind M. Fitzgerald, but seriously though."
"Ok ok... 32?"
"Oh, so close, I'm 34!"
"Darn!" He says and they both laugh.
He looks at her laugh, it almost turns into a squeak. Something about her makes him feel like he could talk to her for hours and she'd listen. Her nose scrunches and it makes her round glasses tilt upwards; he pushes his own glasses up.
"And I love your smile..." he whispered under his breath mindlessly.
"Hm?"
"Oh hm, it was very nice meeting you Ms. Tyson!" He held out his hand to her, quickly responding to avoid suspicion.
"It was!" She agreed, shaking his hand firmly.
After an awkwardly long handshake, which she didn't register as such, he finished packing his things and headed out, wishing her a great start of the semester. She returned the gratitude. Leaving the lecture hall, he held his hand up to his face to hide the glow he felt on his cheeks.
Fuuuuuuck- he doesn't swear much, but this time called for it; she had a strong affect on him and he was going to have a difficult time trying to hide it for the rest of the semester-
-------
And ya that's it! Had to get this scene out of my mind and into the world or it would have consumed me a swear XD

This shot is going to haunt me for at LEAST the next couple months. Like. It's driving me insane. And it's all because of one stupid, tiny detail.
The blood drips on Vox's mouth
Now, there are 3 reasons this is bothering me so much. 1 is obviously the fact that THEY ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HIS MOUTH, 2 is that there's no real reason the blood drips would be appearing in this moment, and 3 is that this is part of a sequence where VAL AND ANGEL ALSO BOTH HAVE PINK LIQUID DRIPPING FROM THEIR MOUTHS.
Now, there are possible, very reasonable explanations for the blood drips(which I feel the need to clarify have been CONSISTENTLY on the left side of his mouth in every shot except for like one other): it could be an animation error, simple as that. It could also be that they just switched the sides so the blood drips would be more noticeable, but I'm not really sure why they would do that? Because A, I edited the screenshot so that the blood drips are in their normal position and it literally looks fine
And B, why would it be extra important for us to know the drips are THERE unless they have some kind of significance in the context of Poison? Every detail in an animated show is deliberate because each panel literally has to be drawn out. If they flipped Vox's blood drips to the other side in this scene in order to draw attention to it, then there's a REASON behind it, there is something important going on here.
I think it's also important to acknowledge the only OTHER time Vox's blood drips have been on the right, this shot in the finale:
Though in this shot there's also an extra drip on the left, and the two on the right are both different sizes, which. Isn't how they normally look. The drips in this frame just overall look a lot more natural then the usual ones? Which I haven't added a picture of yet but they look like this
Two, same sized red stripes on the left side of his mouth. Anyways those are the only two times they look different, and the two moments have literally nothing in common so I can't figure out why they would be different THERE. The best explanation I can think of for the one from the finale is that a story board artist made an artistic choice(hence the drips looking significantly more natural, mor like Alastor's at the end of Stayed Gone), and then it never got changed or corrected or whatever because the frame where his face is right up in the camera last for like a split second. But Idk. That explanation doesn't really apply to the Poison shot because they look EXACTLY the same aside from being on the wrong side and the Poison shot lasts a lot longer than the close up in the finale does.
I would also like to point out that the drips switching sides is NOT a Val make out session exclusive, because when they're making out in the finale, the drips are still on the left. Like you can see the right side of his mouth in this shot and it's completely drip free.
That was a LOT of text for just one section but ONTO REASON NUMBER 2!!!!!! There is no reason Vox would be doing the fucking mouth bleeding thing in that scene.
Those blood drips only appear on Vox's mouth when he's really, REALLY worked up. The times we see them he's typically REALLY angry or REALLY excited. Like, emotions that would typically cause an adrenaline rush. And there's no real reason he would be having an adrenaline rush in this scene? Like unless wanting to make out with someone real real bad gives you an adrenaline rush I wouldn't know I'm ace. But even if that IS the case, shouldn't the drips disappear after Angel interupts them?
There's no energy in his expression when he looks at Angel, no real evidence that he's feeling anything beyond "ugh this guy again". No reason he would still have the drips. And it's not even really an animation thing, because there was plenty of time to get the drips to subtly go away in this shot. But no. They stay for the whole time. Also, while looking through GIFs to find one of this scene, I noticed that Vox literally NEVER has the blood drips when he's frowning. There a couple shots where it would make sense for the drips to appear(like when he calls Adam a pussy for not killing Al), but they don't, and in all of those shots he's frowning. So for this to be the ONLY TIME the blood drips don't dissappear when he stops smiling? Idk seems kinda sus.
Now. The final, and possibly most concerning reason this scene won't leave me the fuck alone: Angel and Val are drooling to.
(IM SO SORRY FOR THE HORRIBLE QUALITY I HAD TO GET THE SCREENSHOT FROM A LOW QUALITY REPOST OF THE MUSIC VIDEO OFF OF YOUTUBE-)
It's really, really subtle, like to the point where I didn't actually notice it until I saw somebody else point it out, but in the scene where Angel is breaking down after all the SHIT Val put him through over the course of the Poison music video, he has a little bit of neon pink coming out of his mouth. He then wipes it away, looks at his hand, and turns to look at Vox & Val.
And Val has it to. All three of them have the same bright pink dripping from their mouths. And granted, Vox & Val are in a very limited color pallette, and the red in Vox's design got swapped for that same bright pink, and his drips are usually the same red as his eyes, but the fact that it's the same color as the spit(?) coming out of Angel & Val's mouths should at least be a little noteworthy, right?
ALSO!!!!!!! I literally just now put this together- the pink substance is coming off of the right side of Vox and Angel's mouths, but the left side of Val's. It's a small detail, but given that the main reason this scene is driving me up the goddamn walls is that Vox's drips are ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HIS MOUTH, there's gotta be something to it.
Anyways, these points have all been driven into the ground already. Everybody and their mother have been taking this scene and analyzing it, saying the same shit I just did in a bunch of different ways. I'm rehashing all of this because it's relevant to the conversation, but at this point it's kinda like just pointing out the obvious. BUT! I do want to try bringing something new to the table, something that might ALSO explain why Vox's drips are on the wrong side(again, same side as Angel's), so bear with me here:
I've pointed this out before, but Poison is a pseudo dream sequence. It's constantly cutting back and forth between Angel living it up vs him suffering extensively. This is the most obvious during the dance sequence with the giant blue screens(which I cannot provide a GIF of bcuz I have already reached the image limit for this post-). The very obvious dichotomy is meant to show us how Angel uses his mask to cope with the constant abuse, he literally says he's dissociating in the song, but it ALSO means that a lot of the stuff we're seeing in this sequence isn't literal. The scene with Vox and Val might be part of that.
Vox and Val are in a very different color pallette from everything surrounding them. They're both colored in dark blues and neon pink, purple & blue. The demon beside them, however, is not. That demon is colored more naturally. And while, from a technical stand point, I think it's mostly just to make sure Vox & Val pop and are the center of our attention, it could ALSO mean that this is specifically a part of Angel's dream sequence. It's how Angel sees them. And Vox's drips are on the wrong side.
Now, I don't wanna say that this means Angel feels that Vox is in a similar situation to him, because it feels. Weird. But then again, this shot is the only thing we have on Angel's view of Vox! We know plenty about how Vox views Angel, it's not like. Specific. It's just pretty obvious that Vox Does Not Like Him. But we have nothing concrete on Angel's view of Vox(or Velvette for that matter but that's not relevant rn). Which is interesting, because Angel DEFINITELY has oppinions on him. Vox is dating Valentino, Angel's abuser, and never does anything to stop the abuse. That's gotta lead to some built up resentment, y'know? But all we have right now to show us Angel's view of Vox is something that, if you look deep enough, seems to imply he feels more empathetic towards the guy then anything else? Again, Vox and Angel's pink drips are on the right. Valentino's pink drips are on the left. Vox's blood drips are almost always on the left. But they aren't here. They're on the same side as Angel's. You see what I'm getting at here? Wether Angel is RIGHT about Vox being "on the same side" as he is remains to be determined, but still.
Anyways, I could just be over thinking this. I have a long, storied history of taking small details that are probably just mistakes and blowing them completely out of proportion. Ask literally any of my friends abour Bird Teeth and they will confirm. Plus, I'm probably gonna end up over thinking this shit for all of May and completely change my mind on what the reversed blood drips mean, I have a tendency to do that. But for now this is my theory; the reason Vox's blood drips are on the wrong side of his mouth in Poison is because Angel views Vox as being in a similar situation with Valentino to the one he himself is in. Not the exact same, but similar enough to warrant sympathy at the very least.

My nephew reviews perfume
I'm not sure how my sister heard about Noteworthy Scents, but the concept is, you take a quiz, and they'll send you four Scientifically Chosen samples ($25 USD) based on your answers.
Noteworthy is a new, exciting way to discover your signature scent. Rather than relying on flashy celebrity branding or overblown marketing promises, we want our customers to be in control of deciding which Noteworthy fragrance is right for them. We’re excited that you’re joining us on this journey - we can’t wait to help you find your signature scent.
I have looked at all the fragrances on offer, and I can tell you, they don't happen to have the notes I would want in my One Perfume to Rule Them All (if there's no peach or ylang ylang, I’m not forsaking the rest of my collection). But more to the point, I don't want just one. I've been writing up the things I've been trying for a few months now, and I enjoy the experimenting. But I appreciate what Noteworthy's trying to do, especially for wearers who want something straightforward, and I was perfectly happy to let my sister be the one to try them.
(I did take the quiz, though, and after telling them I don’t like aquatic scents, they said they would send me one that smells like the beach. I closed the tab. My sister told the quiz that she does not like florals and she does not like amber. You’ll never guess what happened next!)
So her Discovery Kit arrived yesterday. She announced this by texting me,
I’m gonna give you feedback from [Nephew] smelling the perfume
Me: Yeah?
As you may recall from one of my music posts, my nephew is six.
(My sister gave me permission to post this.)
n,841
Lemon, tarragon, cedar wood. A powerful, understated blend of citrus and woods. Drawing from poetry’s ability to spark joy and inspiration, this bright lemon and bergamot blend leaves an instant impression before mellowing out into a rich amber and leather base.
My sister: [Nephew] said
smells like raspberries or being in a dungeon like down in a well
Me: ……..I do not see any of those things on the card
n,551
Lily of the valley, amber, sandalwood. A sensual, comforting, woody scent that cocoons the wearer in notes of warm, glowing sandalwood and cozy, soft cashmere—freshened up with Lily of the Valley.
smells like lime juice or being inside a pumpkin
n,307
Mandarin, basil, sandalwood. Inspired by nostalgic childhood trips to lemon groves, fresh flowers swirling together in the summer breeze, and the radiant colors of perfectly ripe citrus, this energizing fragrance stars juicy mandarin and soft sandalwood, plus light notes of basil.
green grape juice or being on top of an umbrella at the beach
Me: that’s very specific
n,057
Passionfruit, vanilla, tonka bean. Let n,057 become your signature: remarkable, evocative and distinctly yours. Keep your fragrance at home or take our travel spray with you. Fitting snugly in your purse, pocket, or suitcase, it's the perfect on-the-go perfume.
My sister: I think he’s losing his focus on this last one. He said
lemon juice at the lemon store
My perfume sample budget got used up on, like, ugh, actual necessities this month, or I'd give Noteworthy a try for science. On a second try, my quiz results were (very likely overlapping with my sister's):
A captivating blend of warm woods and zesty citrus, like strolling through a sun-drenched forest grove. An intriguing fusion of exotic spices and earthy notes, evoking the vibrant energy of a bustling cityscape. A delightful combination of tropical fruits and delicate florals, reminiscent of a refreshing breeze in a lush garden. And for an unexpected wild card fragrance, a scent that defies expectations because science cannot always predict desire.
Currently, my sister says that she can tell that the Noteworthy fragrances are well-made, but they're not "her"; apparently she's in the 11% algorithm failure group—or maybe she just needs time for them to grow on her! Who knows! She'll bring over her samples for Sunday dinner, and I'll report back if they do, in fact, smell like being inside a pumpkin.
Perfume discussion masterpost
#perfume#perfume discussion#long post#I'm a little nervous about this because like chanel is not gonna get up in my business#but an indie company might#honestly I think my nephew's descriptions are fairly appealing#don't lie; at least some of you want to smell like a dungeon#peak hilarity: I try one of hers and fall in love with it

For the fanfic bingo, what if Fabriz 'grabbed the wrong bag' but they didn't grab each other's bags, Fabian grabbed the wrong bag and now has to figure out where his bag that has a sleeping riz in it went
Ugh, Anon your mind! Gimme a sec...
Alright! I'm back with a fic that I really didn't expect to be as long as it is... I really have a problem. Anyway! Think of this as the spiritual successor to "Frightful Snow & Delightful Fire"! Because it's basically the same premise but this time it's hot instead of cold!
Send me a prompt and help me get a bingo!
Words: 8,881
The raucous noise of a tense battle rang out within the padded walls of the Aguefort gymnasium. Sounds of foam blades and bullets striking torsos and limbs. Squeaks from sneakers skidding against the shiny floorboards. Shouts from the audience of students, hyping up one side or the other.
Fabian sat amongst the rowdy crowd of teens next to a cheering Gorgug. His sweaty form lounged against the cool, hard metal of the sparring gym’s bleachers. Still somewhat panting from his match against a slippery aasimar monk. Priscilla Maynard, head cheerleader. She gave him a run for his money, ending their bout of fights in a draw. Two wins a piece.
Usually, he wouldn’t be fighting her during school hours. Most days, all of the martial classes were trained separately. But every so often, during last period, the martial teachers liked to combine their classes for the sake of keeping the students on their toes. It’s not like he’d be only duelling with other Fighters out in the wide world of Spyre. So, he couldn’t complain about this little switch-up. Especially since it meant that he got to watch his boyfriend kickass without having to be in any danger himself.
Riz Gukgak was certainly a sight to see on the battlefield. Blink and you’ll miss him. It was only with years of experience that he could track Riz’s relative position in the makeshift dynamic environment made up of foam shapes and raised platforms. He tumbled through the legs of his paladin opponent. Used his sword of shadows to get out of being cornered. His newfound arcane Mage Hand to trip them. Darted underneath a staircase to hide and gain Sneak Attack when he popped out to shoot his opponent with his Nerf arquebus. Landing shot after shot. Hit after hit.
Quite a sight indeed.
Umberlee below, Fabian loved him.
By the time his match was called in his favour, Riz’s tiny chest heaved and he looked a bit dead on his feet. But he still smiled as his rogue teacher, Ms. Shadow, lifted his arm in victory. His gaze found Fabian’s within seconds of searching the bleachers. Finding him clapping and cheering for his win, perhaps, too loudly. And if Fabian had a big enough ego (and he did!), he’d note that Riz’s smile got a bit wider when they locked eyes.
Porter’s deep, rocky voice interrupted their little moment with the announcement, “Thistlespring! You’re up next!”
Riz shot up in the air a foot, his tail standing on end, more than a little startled by the hulking Earth Genasi’s sudden appearance. Fabian could see it in his eyes as he silently cursed Porter’s innate earthen stealthiness as he hung the Nerf arquebus with the rest of the faux weapons. All before he scurried from the sparring mat. Making his way back up to his seat next to Fabian.
“Wish me luck?” Gorgug asked as he got up from his seat beside Fabian, offering his fist for a bump.
Never one to leave his boy hanging, Fabian quickly balled his fist and accepted the bump with a wink. “You know it.”
Riz accepted the fist bump that was offered to him as well, as he and Gorgug passed each other on their way up and down. It wasn’t too long before he bounded up the rows of bleachers, closing the distance. Using the last bit of his energy, he pushed off of the last step to jump, not into the seat next to Fabian, but directly into his arms.
And despite him being absolutely drenched in sweat, Fabian held him close. Settling Riz in his lap, he pressed a kiss on the top of his greenblack undercut and murmured, “Excellent work, darling.”
“Aww, thanks. You weren’t half bad yourself,” Riz said, rubbing his nose against the underside of his jaw and lacing their hands together in his lap. “Pretty sure Maynard only stunned you once.”
“Ugh, monks.” Fabian spat out as he scowled at the memory.
Riz chuckled as he poked Fabian in his dimpled cheek and said, “I’m invoking boyfriend privileges, by the way.”
“Oh?”
“Class is done in, like, ten minutes. I’m gonna crash in your backpack. That okay?” He asked as if he didn’t know that Fabian could never tell him no. Not when Riz looked up at him with his big, amber eyes.
“Sounds good to me, The Ball. Ooh, that’s gotta hurt,” He and Riz hissed in unison as they watched Gorgug land a critical hit on his opponent. Yes, it may have been with a foam greataxe, but Fabian wasn’t convinced he’d like to be on the business end of it. “Want me to drop you off at your office or home?”
“Neither,” Riz answered faintly, still caught up in that crit before he went into more detail. “Mom wants the apartment all to herself and Gorthalax tonight. And as a soon-to-be adult, I can appreciate her honesty and bluntness and I will honour her request. But also, BLEGH! SO GROSS!” Fabian let out a guffaw as Riz descended into exaggerated disgust, pantomiming gagging and clawing his eyes out. A couple of the students around them shot them annoyed looks, but Fabian paid them no mind. Eventually, Riz let his disgust at sex fade away, letting his head fall back against Fabian’s chest. “So, yeah. I’m going to be taking a Sleep spell gummy and really passing out. Like, for seven hours straight.”
Fabian hummed in thought. “I’d be remiss not to mention that that’s normally how long one sleeps for.”
“Sounds fake,” Riz said after he spent a couple of beats with his face screwed up in faux introspection. “Sleepover?”
Clutching his imaginary pearls, Fabian scoffed and turned his nose up at Riz. “Sure! Call me a liar and then ask for me to open my heart and my home to you!” His offended act lasted two more seconds before he softened and answered his question. “Of course, Mama won’t mind.”
“Alright, I’m going to beat the rush,” Riz said, getting up to crouch on Fabian’s lap and rub their cheeks together before scurrying off to the locker room.
Batting his eyelashes and twiddling his fingers after him, Fabian put on his silliest sexy voice and said, “See you in your dreams.”
“Blegh,” Riz said, wrinkling his nose. “Hate it when you do that.”
Fabian didn’t even try to hide how much he loved annoying Riz.
The class wrapped up about ten minutes later, following Gorgug’s winning match. Heading back to the locker room with the rest of the humongous throng of students, the two Bad Boys crowded into the now-tight space. Fielding accidental shoves and elbows to the stomach on the route back to their things. After an arduous journey, they arrived at their bags and quickly got to work on getting out of there as fast as possible.
After checking on Riz and finding his adorable sleeping form in his backpack, Fabian would’ve been out of there in a minute flat. Would’ve, if didn’t need to dig through his locker for the homework he’d carelessly shoved in there. Normally, he wouldn’t care, but Riz had been on him lately about caring about his academic success. Those big, amber puppy-dog eyes staring up at him in disappointment were his kryptonite. So, yes he needed to find this homework. And he needed to find it soon or else he’d be driven mad by the thundering chatter all around him.
With the sound level being what it was, Fabian could hardly hear himself think. Not with this cacophony of a hundred voices having a hundred conversations rattling around his head. Like the one occurring directly to his right.
Blaze Evermore, a jockish Fire Genasi linebacker on the Owlbears, was boasting about how his older brother was taking him to the City of Brass for the weekend. Got ‘em tickets to this underground pit fighting ring and everything. Interesting! It’d be far more interesting if Blaze’s bros weren’t jostling him around and pushing him into Fabian’s open locker door. Smacking his head with it via the proxy of Blaze’s bulky frame. All in good fun, yes. But Fabian was going to get a concussion if they didn’t—Found it!
With one good tug, he yanked a crumpled paper folder out from the bottom of his locker. Thrusting it into the air in triumph. Only to be reminded he was still surrounded by a bunch of boisterous guys when Blaze sent him and Gorgug crashing to the floor with an unintended hip-check.
“Whew, sorry, Cap!” Blaze said apologetically as he offered Fabian a heavy, calloused hand. Fabian grabbed it, happily taking the help up back to his feet. A little rocked in the head, but as a Bloodrush player, he was used to it. “Didn’t mean to knock you over.”
“That’s alright, Evermore. No harm done, except to my spleen. You okay, Gorgug?” Fabian asked, trying to shake the fall off as he watched Blaze help Gorgug up off of the ground as well before he bent down. Handing Fabian the closest fallen backpack to his feet. It didn’t even cross his mind to double-check that it was his because his mind was paying much more attention to not forgetting to grab The Ball’s briefcase. Why wouldn’t it be his? Slinging the backpack over his shoulder and taking the briefcase in hand, he gave Blaze a nod. “Have fun this weekend.”
Blaze smiled wide, revealing a missing canine tooth. “I will!”
“Gorgug, see you later.”
“See ya!”
Aguefort must have some type of soundproofing surrounding the locker rooms because as Fabian made it out of there, all was quiet. Almost deafeningly so. Not a peep came from the room behind him. The only sounds to hear were the idle hum of the academy settling for the day and his own breaths.
Whew.
Alright.
Time to head home.
The next hour passed rather uneventfully. Hangman only grumbled and huffed a little bit about Riz’s presence on the ride home. Receiving a couple of pats on his school for showing a level of restraint toward his boyfriend. He kissed his mothers on both of their cheeks as he passed through the kitchen on his way up to his room. Once inside, Fabian rested his Riz-filled backpack in the middle of his bed and the briefcase of holding next to it before he went about having a shower. He desperately needed to scrub after-sparring stink off of himself.
Clouds of steam followed in his wake as Fabian stepped out of his en suite bathroom and finished up working the last of his leave-in conditioner into his coils. With his comfy pair of silk pyjamas on, he was ready to spend the rest of the evening waiting for Riz to awaken from his spell-induced slumber. Which reminded him, he should take Riz out of his backpack now.
He hadn’t bothered when he first got home. Knowing that the space within his backpack held a certain appeal to Riz’s primal, Goblin brain. Warm, cramped, very cave-like, and thus, safe. This Fabian understood. Riz had assured him this many times, that he liked falling asleep in his backpack more than in his own bed. But Fabian couldn’t in good conscious keep in him in there for any longer.
Sliding across the wooden floor with his socks, he leapt onto his Chaos King-sized bed and crawled to the middle where he left his backpack. More than ready for some cuddling time with his favourite guy, Fabian’s heart stopped when he zipped it open and saw what was inside.
Nothing.
Well, not nothing.
A wave of grease and rubber accompanied the sight of school folders, crumpled-up papers, a cute lunchbox riddled with Sig Fig stickers... Oh, and a bag full of tinkerer’s tools. Fabian groaned. Slapping a hand across his forehead. When Blaze and his bros had bumped into him, he must’ve gotten mixed up and taken Gorgug’s backpack instead.
Nice going, Seacaster.
Zipping Gorgug’s bag back up and taking it with him, Fabian made his way off his bed to pick up his crystal. Holding it between his ear and shoulder as he strode over to his closet to throw on a jacket overtop his pyjamas. He’d only be out for a couple of minutes, he figured. No need to change for the ten minutes it would take The Hangman to get to the Thistlespring tree.
The first thing that he heard was the sound of sparks flying and a clank before Gorgug’s cheery voice came over the call. “Hey, Fabian! I’m kinda in the middle of welding something for my mom. What’s up?”
“Very sorry for interrupting, Gorgug. But it seems to be that we’ve swapped backpacks.”
“Oh? Yeah, I guess it was lighter than usual,” Another clanging sound erupted on the other end of the line. “Do you need it back now?”
“Yes, The Ball is sleeping in it.” Fabian could hear the wince in Gorgug’s voice, which in turn, made him pull a face. He knew how much learning the ways of artificing from his parents was important to Gorgug and how he silently hated being pulled away from it. But he really needed Riz back.
“Gotcha. Hold on,” Gorgug said before he leaned away from his crystal, his voice growing distant, to call out. “Mom, can you go get my backpack? It’s actually Fabian’s,” Suddenly his voice returned to its original volume as he asked, “Need me to bring him over?”
As he slipped his leather bomber jacket on, Fabian quickly said, “No, no, no! Don’t worry, I’m on my way.”
“Awesome. Huh?” Gorgug was pulled away from his crystal again and once it returned, his confused tone made Fabian’s stomach turn. “Uh, Fabian? My mom’s saying that Riz isn’t in there.”
“What are you talking about?” Fabian asked, his voice hollow as he stood stock still in the shadow of his closet. His heart beginning to race.
“She says—what’s that, Mom?” Another long moment of quiet as Wilma spoke to Gorgug not close enough to the crystal’s receiver for him to hear. Leaving him in suspense until Gorgug returned and said, “She says that it doesn’t seem like your bag anyway. There’s not much in it except for—oh, an Owlbears jersey with Evermore on the back. I think this is Blaze’s bag.”
“Which might mean that he has mine. Shit. Thanks, Gorgug. I have to go.”
“Yeah, of course. Good luck finding Riz! Bye!”
Didn’t Blaze say he was going to the City of Brass for the weekend? The same City of Brass in the Elemental Plane of Fire?… The one where if you head down the wrong winding street, you could be enslaved for it? That City of Brass?
Shit, shit, shit.
Fabian hung up as soon as he could and then went straight for his Fantasy Whatsapp app. He and Blaze had never really talked outside of practices, games, and passing each other in the halls, but they both were in the Owlbear group chat. Surely, if he just went through all of the participants in the chat he could find Blaze’s number. After a minute of scrolling and trying to leg bounce his anxieties away, he let an ‘Ah hah!’ as he found Blaze’s profile pic and his number underneath it.
Tapping the little crystal button next to Blaze’s number, he didn’t even get to agonize over the dial tone before a tinny artificial voice said, “We’re sorry. Your call cannot be completed as dialled. The person you are trying to reach has gone interplanar and the call cannot connect at this time. Please try your call again. Beep.”
Fuck.
Fabian stood in silence next to his open closet. A sense of emptiness and confusion filled his chest. Crystal still pressed up against his ear. The call disconnect tone, low and droning, beeped incessantly. Urging him to make a choice and end the call already. What was he going to do? What was he going to do? His grip on his crystal tightened as his face hardened in resolution and he realized there was only one thing to do.
He’s going to get his boyfriend back.
But first, he definitely had to change out of his pyjamas.
Riz stirred from his deep slumber for only a moment. Long enough to yawn and stretch and reposition himself amongst the nest he made out of Fabian’s things. These Sleep gummies were good. So good. They somehow managed to temporarily mute his ever-running-a-mile-a-minute brain long enough for the want of sleep to overtake his racing thoughts.
Smothering any wonder of why everything got so hot all of a sudden. Or why he could hear muffled shouts, cheers, and jeers all around him when he was in Fabian’s room. Those didn’t matter.
Not when he could instead burrow into and wrap himself in Fabian’s letterman jacket that smelled just like him. Sea salt, cedar, and cinnamon. Riz took a deep breath of them, ignoring any of the other strange, exotic smells that seeped in from the outside world. The last thing he thought of before he slipped back under was Fabian holding him tight. Feeling safer than ever in his arms and wanting only to stay in them forever.
Filled with a renewed purpose and determination, he texted Gorgug. Informing that he’d swing by his place to drop his bag and pick up Blaze’s before he started gearing up for an impromptu solo mission.
Frandrangour rested in its holster just above where he wrapped his battlesheet around his hips. Tying it off so some of the sheet still hung from the knot. He may not be a pirate like his Papa, but he’d sooner die than give up their aesthetic.
And for his clothes, he’d remembered enough from his Planar Geography class that temperatures in the City of Brass tended to be pretty hot. Staying between a breezy fifty degrees Celsius and wanting to rip your own skin off. So, he opted for the loosest white tank top with the lowest cut sides he could find in his closet and a pair of deep turquoise and orange harem pants. The Plane of Fire wasn’t going to catch him slipping. Climate or fashion-wise.
Ready as he was ever going to be, he did a quick Fantasy Google search for the closest portal to the Plane of Fire as he raced down to the Manor’s garage. More specifically looking for one that would get him as close to the City of Brass as possible. And by the time he was settling onto The Hangman’s leather seat, he’d found one near a place didn’t expect.
The Elmville Firehouse.
At first, it seemed a bit counterintuitive to him, you know? Surely whoever decided where to place the Fire Department there knew there was a portal to the place where Fire was born, right? But, after a moment’s thought, it kind of weirdly made sense. Who else would you want to fight any invading fire elemental than the people with gallons of water and a huge hose to spray it? Also, seeing as it sounded similar enough to what he remembered Blaze talking about, he decided to take the risk.
After doing a backpack swap with Gorgug, who thankfully didn’t ask too many questions about where he was going to find Blaze, Fabian was off to the Firehouse. Urging The Hangman ever faster as they sped through the streets of Elmville. Not that his trusty steed needed much encouragement to hit his top speed.
Skidding to a stop in front of the huge, brick building, he asked only for The Hangman to wait at home for him. Getting a reluctant okay, he rushed inside the station to ask exactly where the portal was. The firefighters were nice enough. They’d looked a bit skeptical at first as he explained that he needed to save his boyfriend from waking up scared and confused in the City of Brass. But showing them his Aguefort school ID and having Fandrangour on his hip helped them believe that they weren’t sending him to his fiery death.
“Gettin’ all kinds of adventurers today,” A half-orchish man named Kark said in a gravelly grumble as he led Fabian around to the back of the firehouse. Stopping in front of a back shed with an arcane padlock, he began flipping through a ring of runed keys that he had on his belt.
“Really?” Fabian asked.
“Yeah, two Fire Genasi boys went through about an hour and a half ago.” Kark answered absent-mindedly, humming a tune Fabian didn’t recognize under his breath until—“Hah! Here it is.”—He took hold of a key that looked almost identical to the rest, in Fabian’s opinion. But he said it was it, then it was it. Kark slotted the key into the padlock’s hole, a small arcane hum vibrating out once he unlocked it, and then he opened the door. A blast of heat hit their faces as the portal to the City of Brass was revealed. A whirling vortex of pure magic, tinted orange, red, and gold, hung like a tear in the fabric of space before them. Kark took a step back, grimacing at it as he asked, “You sure about this, kid?”
Fabian chuckled and smiled up at Kark, a brick house of a man who regularly ran into burning buildings, yet was still weary of what lay ahead of them. “I am. I’m an adventurer. It’s what we do.”
With one last wink at Kark and a deep breath, Fabian walked through the swirling, roiling portal.
Coming out of essentially a crack in a red stone wall, the heat hit him first. As solid and unyielding as the wall he’d just stepped out of. Instantly the immense heat sent beads of sweat down his forehead and left him a bit agitated and antsy to leave this Plane as soon as possible.
It was so distracting that he almost got run over by a merchant’s hurrying wagon. Fortunately, he rolled well on his Dexterity saving throw to jump out of the way at the last second. His back pressed up against the red stone, Fabian pushed his irritation with the city’s climate and tried to gain his bearings.
The street he just stepped into was choked with people. Hustling and bustling with throngs of folks of all kinds on foot and in wagons (or pulling them? Umberlee below.). All making their way back and forth. Either deeper into the city or toward a giant golden gate set in the black obsidian wall that encircled the entire metropolis. The tall buildings that surrounded him were carved with intricate designs. Topped off with spiralling towers. Colourful banners of red, orange yellow hung out of windows and from brassy poles with what looked like the emblem of a noble house.
What little breeze there was brought with the smell of a plethora of spices Fabian had never encountered before. He could practically taste them on his tongue with how strong they were. Shouts of a language he knew but a dialect he didn’t also were carried on the wind. Though his father keeping that tornado on as a crew member had done wonders for his knowledge of Primordial, the differences between Auran and Ignan were significant. Enough that he was worried that he might misinterpret something if he tried his hand at Ignan. Best to stick to Common then.
Pushing himself off of the wall, Fabian began to search the surrounding streets for anyone who might’ve noticed the Evermore brothers heading in a certain direction. As busy as this place was, it didn’t seem like there were a lot of people that stayed put longer than a couple of minutes. Nobody except for a beautiful Fire Genasi woman wearing hardly anything at all posted up in front of the entrance of “First Flames”. A building that just screamed ‘House of Pleasure’ not unlike the Gold Gardens back on Leviathan.
Long, fiery hair, decorated with gold and brass charms and hairpins, fell around the greeter’s sweet, round face. Waving at passersby, asking if they wanted a cool drink and some hot company.
“Hello, handsome. Name’s Cinder,” She said to Fabian once he landed in her sights. Her voice was nice and sultry as she waved him closer. “You look like you’re searching for someone.”
“I am actually,” Fabian answered with a queasy smile as he cautiously approached but tried to keep a respectful distance away. “But I don’t think he’ll be in there.”
Cinder practically cooed at him, probably mistaking his discomfort for general shyness. Her slim, ruby fingers wrapped around his to urge him closer to her and the bedecked double-door entrance. Resting a forearm on his shoulder, she made a sweeping motion with the other toward First Flames and said, “Oh, sweetie, that’s not a problem. We have this charming lad named Smoulder and he would be more than happy to make your day.”
Following her motion, he could see inside of First Flames and it didn’t look unappealing. Lush and plush and filled with beautiful, scantily clad people strutting around and draping themselves over customers. Fabian couldn’t help but skin up his nose at it. Maybe he would’ve enjoyed this place before, but now, all he wanted was Riz.
“That is a lovely offer but I’m not interested in… companionship today. I’m afraid I’m taken.” Fabian said as politely as he could and stepped out from under Cinder’s arm.
Taken aback for a moment, Cinder then let out a sigh. Placing her hands on her hips, she shook her head and laughed. “Of course you are. Anything I can help you with before you leave us for good?”
Hmm, well, she was one of the only people he’d seen so far who could’ve stayed put long enough to notice the Evermore brothers pass by…
Worth a shot.
“Is there a chance you saw two Fire Genasi guys who looked out of place walk through here about an hour and a half ago?”
It took Cinder a moment, her stained lips pursed and fine brows furrowed in thought before her face and hair brightened in remembrance. “Indeed I did! They asked for directions to The Pyre.” Fabian’s confusion must’ve shown on his face because she quickly added, “It’s a pit fighting ring. Down in the Rookery.”
“Right. And that would be…?” Fabian said. Drawing out the syllables of every word and arching a questioning brow until Cinder burst out into full-hearted laughter. Through her giggles and titters, she managed to tell him the route he needed to take to get there as quickly as possible. Though she did warn him to stay on his guard. This city wasn’t a forgiving one. Yeah, he knew a thing or two about cities like that. With one last thanks to Cinder again for her help, Fabian set off deeper into the city to find The Pyre.
Easier said than done, of course.
The City of Brass didn’t seem to have an urban planning committee that cared about easy navigation and wayfinding for newcomers. Tight and crowded streets would bend and twist and (he swore on his life) would curve back around. He’d end up in a different district than the one he was in seconds ago with little warning. And it’s not like the locals were exactly hospitable. He almost got his head chopped off for asking for directions, on two separate occasions. And he barely managed to escape the wrath and chains of a noble-looking Efreeti he accidentally bumped into.
Luckily after two hours of searching, he turned a corner and stumbled upon the place Cinder had described for him. It won’t look like much, she’d said and she wasn’t wrong. Situated in the crook of two side streets, a beefy Efreeti man guarded what was essentially a hole in the wall covered by a flimsy-looking dark wood door. No signs or any distinguishing features to be seen. Yet, all the same, a couple of well-dressed Tieflings strode up to the bouncer and discreetly handed him their tickets. And after a moment of inspecting the little pieces of cut brass, he let them in.
That’s another problem. He doesn’t have a ticket.
Crouched behind an alleyway with a view of the Pyre’s entrance, he’d searched through Blaze’s backpack. Looking for any sign of a similar cut piece of brass that he assumed was engraved in some way, but he came up with nothing. For a moment, he weighed the possibility of it maybe being a pay-at-the-door situation. But that train of thought was swiftly derailed as he watched the bouncer toss a man out into the busy street for even asking.
Shit.
Fully sat on the ground now, Fabian let his head loll back and hit the hard stone wall behind him. The oppressive weight of the heat of this place bore down on him. He dug the heels of his palms into his eyes and wiped the dripping sweat out of his face. There had to be something he could do. He’d come this far. And Riz was somewhere in that place. So close yet somehow miles and miles away.
Okay, okay. He can’t get in without a ticket… and if Blaze’s smug boasting in the locker room was any indication, they were pretty hard to get. So he couldn’t go around asking where to acquire them. Not if he wanted to keep his head on his shoulders. But that would mean he needed to get in without a ticket. How could he get in there without a ticket? Ugh, if Riz were in his position, he’d make a stupidly high investigation check for a backdoor. But Fabian had a sinking feeling if he were to try the same, he’d end up walking around the same block for hours on end. No, that wouldn’t do at all.
As Fabian sat in agonizing contemplation, the Pyre’s door opened up enough for whoever was on the other side to speak to the bouncer. A high, nasally voice asked, “Is he here yet?”
To which the bouncer only grunted and shook his head.
“That idiot. He’s supposed to be in the ring in ten minutes.” The voice said, his tone dripping in barely concealed aggravation. “If he does come tell him to get his ass into the pit ASAP. Got me?”
Another grunt, but this time with a nod instead before the Pyre’s door shut once more. Leaving the side street quiet and Fabian’s mind with an idea. He was asking the wrong question. It’s not how could he get in there without a ticket. It’s who could get in there without a ticket. Though he left the subclass behind when he became a Battle Master, it looked like the Pyre was about to get a new champion.
Jumping to his feet, he adjusted his father’s eyepatch, squared his shoulders, and lifted his chin. He marched up to the towering bouncer with the same confidence he had on his first day of school. Staring up at his eight-foot-tall form, Fabian smiled and said, “I heard this ring needed a challenger on short notice. And I just so happen to be aching for a good fight.”
Flame-filled eyes, hard and blazing, looked him up and down. The bouncer’s strong nose wrinkled in a glare at him. His gaze lifted from Fabian to behind him as he probably searched for whoever was supposed to be there. Must’ve come up empty. Since, in the end, he rolled his eyes and let out a huff of smoke from his nose as he opened the door for Fabian. And with a voice deep and rumbly like smouldering coals, the bouncer called out into the dark and hazy doorway, “Naflia. He’s here.”
“Finally!” Came the high-pitched nasally voice again. Soon accompanied by a relieved, swarthy face wreathed in a mane of fire and a short, stout frame clothed in fine brass garments. This Azer woman’s face turned surly, though, once she got a good look at Fabian. “Where the fuck have you—Jubi who the fuck is this?”
Settling a wrist Frandrangour’s pummel and a hand on his chest, Fabian went to introduce himself, “I’m—”
But Naflia cut him off, tired and gruff as she said, “Actually I don’t care. Can you fight?”
“Yes, I—”
“Perfect come with me.” She said and without another look, Naflia took him by the hand and dragged him into the building.
Leading down into a tight, spiralling stone staircase lit only by torches. Their hurried steps echoed off the walls as they went. Until they reached the bottom and came to a sitting area for guests. It was lit by blue flamed lanterns and filled with seat cushions and low-lying tables filled with goblets, plates, and candles. But Fabian didn’t have time to admire any of the furniture or the guests.
No, Naflia, surprisingly as strong as she is, yanked on his arm to get him moving again. Away from the plush niceties reserved for paying customers and into an employees-only backroom. One that led to a stone chamber filled with benches and rough, rugged fighters. All of them had harsh scars and mean mugs, scowling at him as he passed by. Fabian’s pretty sure he saw one of them laid out flat, covered in bruises and blood, hopefully just unconscious.
“What kind of establishment do you run here, Miss?” Fabian asked frantically as he brought him into a dead-end tunnel and placed him on a square platform.
Stepping back, Nafila grinned and gave him a shrug. “It’s pit fighting, kid. What did you expect? Flowers and roses?”
“A healer on deck,” Fabian answered with a grimace.
“Bah! You’ll be fine. Just don’t die. It’s bad for morale.” She said with a wide wave of her hands. Just as a tiny mote of fire flew in from around a corner, flying into her ear with purpose. Naflia squinted and tilted her head as if being quietly spoken to before she looked back up at him with a grin. “Alright, kid. You’re on in a minute.”
“A minute! Don’t I have to sign something? A waiver perhaps?” He frantically asked with a crack in his voice. Oh, he so didn’t think this plan through. He thought that he’d have enough time to scope the place out before having to fight. But apparently, Naflia didn’t care to get him acquainted with anything. Probably more fun for her. “Don’t you want my name, at least, before you throw me to the wolves?”
“No wolves. Just some punk Firenewt with anger issues. What’s your name?”
“Fabian Seacaster.”
Naflia arched a fiery brow at him. “Huh. If you say so.” She said as she reached behind her to a large brass lever in the wall and yanked it downwards. “Was just going to call you Wh’tila.”
“What does that mean?”
“Pretty boy.”
Hmm.
He didn’t hate that. Not at all.
“That works.” He said as the platform beneath his feet started to shift and rumble as it began to lift him into the air. The sound of huge gears cranking and turning filled his ears as the ceiling above him parted. Slowly but surely, he was raised into a circular arena. With stone walls that raised maybe a hundred feet over his head and were lined by metal railings. Lit by torches hung in elaborate sconces. And just beyond the railing were rows and rows of stands filled to the brim with people screaming their heads off.
The last thing he heard before the roaring audience drowned her out, was Nafila as she said, “Best of luck, Wh’tila. Remember, put on a good show but. Don’t. Die.”
Soon enough, she was gone from his sight as the platform froze in its final lifted position. Letting out a mechanical hiss as it did so. He faintly heard a similar noise about fifty feet away. Pulling his gaze away from the crowd all around him, he looked out across the arena filled with fire pits and racks of weapons to find his opponent.
Orange skin mottled with veins of gold and deep crimson reptilian eyes, the Firenewt opposite Fabian stood ready and raring to go. His fists were wrapped in gauze and he had a huge slashing scar that ran across his chest. There was this strange calmness that came off of him in waves that unsettled Fabian a bit. A sinking feeling grew in his gut that he was about to get his shit rocked by a monk for the second time today.
As he tried to remember the tips Ms. Jones had given him about fighting monks this afternoon, Naflia’s disembodied voice filled the arena. “Ladies and gentlemen! I assure you our next two fighters are about to give you the show of your lives.” At the sound of her voice and the feeling that it was truly go-time now, Fabian began to untie and unwrap his battle sheet from his waist. “The Swift Inferno, a returning champ faces off with fresh-blood fighter, Wh’tila! It’s sure to be a fight for the ages folks. Which one of these young men will come out on top? We’re about to find out in three, two, one.” As she counted down, Naflia’s last words to him rang in his head like a tolling bell. “BEGIN!”
Don’t Die.
Now, Fabian didn’t have any monk friends, so he didn’t feel bad about voicing his opinion of their range of movement.
It was fucking stupid.
Stupid and bullshit and should count as cheating.
To say that The Swift Inferno lived up to his name would be an understatement. And if you said it in front of Fabian he’d shoot you a death glare that rivaled a Sea Hag’s. Because that cute little comment didn’t help him dodge the bastard’s flurry of blows or escape his steps of the wind! Swift’s attacks just didn’t stop coming. So much so that Fabian couldn’t find an opening to strike. He just kept pushing him back and back until he hit the arena’s wall, which worked out in his favour.
As he evaded another one of Swift’s punches, both he and Fabian realized in the same second that he’d accidentally over-extended his arm. Sending it slamming into the rough, uneven stone just beside Fabian’s head. And in the moment before Swift could wince and pull his fist back, Fabian grabbed it. Keeping it where it was and leaving the entire lower half of Swift’s elongated, salamander-esque body open for him to pierce with Fandrangour.
Pulling his blade out of Swift’s abdomen with a flourish, he shoved the Firenewt away from him to give himself some room to work. Swift stumbled back, clutching his now bleeding side. Blood covered his hand wraps. Staining them red. Looking back up at him, Swift snarled.
Fabian smirked as he took a more offensive and showy stance. He arched an eyebrow and asked, “Shall we?”
Swift spat at his feet and sneered out, “Fuckin’ priss.”
“I believe it’s pronounced Wha-till-ah. But what do I know? En guarde!”
Their fight raged on. Fabian, on an upswing, managed to land a few more hits on Swfit. While Swfit tried his best to stun him as often as he could. He only succeeded once, but man oh man was that hard to come back from. Especially since one of Swift’s roundabout kicks sent Fabian crashing to the ground about half a foot away from an open fire pit.
As Swift leapt on him and pressed his face closer to the burning coals, he heard a voice call out from above. “What are you doing here, Cap?!”
Chancing a glance away from his opponent, Fabian followed the voice up into the crowd to see Blaze. Practically falling out of the stands as he leaned over the guardrail to wave at him. Yes! Yes! Blaze was here. He just needed not to die and he could get Riz back!
From within Swift’s hold on him and between the flurry of fists, Fabian yelled as loud as he could, hoping that Blaze could hear him. “Switched! Bags! The Ball! In! Mine! Ugh, one second!”
Reaching down into himself, to the pool of energy in his center that he always pulled from, he pulled from it once more. A tiny current of wind swept up from the ground and swirled around him as he gained his Second Wind. Curling up both of his feet to aim for Swift’s stomach and, using his newfound stamina, booted Swift off from on top of him. Fabian knew he’d be back on his feet soon enough, but he didn’t mind. The effects of the spell he was about to cast would look better if he was standing up anyway.
Nafila did tell him to put on a show.
“Had enough?” He asked as he watched as Swift staggered to his feet, swaying. But he was still standing. Not for long, though.
“You wish.”
Swift descended upon him once again. With flaming fists of fury, spending all of the ki he had left trying to pummel Fabian into the ground, he did his best to withstand his attacks. Taking blow after blow until his moment came. A split second when Swift left his chest open.
“Looks like my lucky day then,” Fabian smiled wide and cocked his fist back, wreathed in a helix of wind, as a low rumble of a distant stormcloud hummed. He directed it straight into the middle of Swift’s chest as he shouted, “Have a nice flight!“, in Auran. Casting Thunderwave.
BOOM!
A tide of pure stormy rage surged out from where Fabian’s fist connected with Swift’s flesh and swept him off of his feet. Sending him flying back ten feet as a thunderous boom filled The Pyre. So powerful and cacophonous that once the ringing in his ears stopped, he thought he’d deafened himself because the whole arena went silent. His pants were so loud in his ears. Chest heaving, he looked out into the stunned crowd before searching for The Swift Inferno. Finding him flung against the curved stone wall, unconscious.
Hold on… Hold on!
Fabian spun around to where he found Blaze in the crowd to lock eyes with him just to double check what he thought was happening was happening. Blaze, with his square jaw and freckled, ruddy face, beamed down at him as he threw his arms into the air. Letting out a whoop, “Let’s go, Cap! HOOT! GROWL!”, and started a chain reaction of cheers and chants as the rest of the crowd erupted.
Instinctively, Fabian whispered underneath his ragged breath, “Hoot growl.”
He’d won.
Holy shit, he’d won!
Oh, how he wished Riz was awake to see this.
The sound of a thunderstorm directly over his head was enough to rip Riz out of the inky void of sleep and back into the real world.
At first, he thought he imagined the sound of thunder crashing. Since, in the first seconds following it, everything around him went quiet. But then a jockish voice above him started yelling a familiar chant and soon an entire audience was joining him in cheering. Leaving Riz to quickly cover his sensitive ears and wonder just what the fuck was going on.
The Owlbears didn’t have a game today, did they? There’s simply no way. He’d marked them all down in his calendar app on his crystal so that he’d miss getting to watch Fabian in his element as Captain of the Bloodrush team.
Mind still groggy from the Sleep gummies, Riz tried to wrap his head around where he was when an abnormally loud voice spoke over the din. “Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we have a winner! Give it up for Wh’tilla!”
A winner?
Wh’tilla?
Who the fuck was Wh’tilla and why did they not sound like a high school Bloodrush team he’s ever heard of?
Okay, that’s it!
Riz practically ripped his way out of Fabian’s backpack. Claws digging and scratching into the sturdy canvas until he could find a hole in the zipper and claw his way out. Instantly, as he popped his head out, he almost wished he didn’t. Because all at once he realized that he was in a place that was unbearably loud, chokingly hot, and definitely nowhere near Elmville. Sitting in a crowd of hundreds of rowdy people of all kinds, with a quick look around he concluded that he was in an underground arena of some kind. Most likely illegal, but never mind that. None of it explained why he wasn’t in Fabian’s room right now.
“Oh! That’s why Cap’s here!”
Huh. That sounds more useful to him.
Whipping his head around to look at the person who was holding Fabian’s bag on his lap, Riz looked up at the young, Fire Genasi’s face. It was familiar, that was for certain. Someone he’d never talked to but saw often enough for them not to be a complete stranger. He must be on the Bloodrush team. The strong jaw and bulky shoulders were a dead giveaway. His name? Oh, by the Gods, it was Flames or something. No, Blaze! Blaze Evermore! Fabian had called him a line-back-thingy when he’d tried to explain Bloodrush to him once. Yes, okay. But why did he have Fabian’s backpack?
“Hey, Blaze. Uh, what’s up? Man.” Riz said more awkwardly than he would’ve liked. He just didn’t know how to talk to Fabian’s Bloodrush teammates. Were they and Riz friends-in-law? Would they treat him differently if Fabian wasn’t in the room with them when they hung out? So many questions and no time to answer them.
Thankfully, Blaze just shrugged and nodded his head in the direction of the arena’s pit. “Nothin’ much. Just watchin’ Fabian kick ass.”
“Huh?” Riz turned to inspect the pit again and what he saw made him gasp.
Fabian stood with a black eye, blood running from his nose, and his arms spread wide in triumph as he soaked up the audience’s cheers. Giving them dramatic, ballerina-esque bows with a big smile on his face. But that wasn’t the part that got Riz’s heart racing.
No, that was reserved for something that no one else seemed to notice, not even Fabian. Behind him, about ten feet back, what seemed to be his defeated opponent, a heavily injured Firenewt stirred. Achingly slowly, he got up. Raising himself onto his arms, Riz saw the seething look he was shooting Fabian. Daggers into the back of his unsuspecting head. And almost imperceptibly, smoke began to pour out of his slitted nostrils as his jowl began to expand. A fact from his studies of inner planar creatures shot into Riz’s head.
Firenewts can spit fire.
They can spit fire at anyone within ten feet of it.
Riz was moving before his thoughts could get any further. Though they did. How could they not?
Could Fabian have enough hit points to withstand a blast of fire to his back? Maybe. But with how punchdrunk he looked, Riz wouldn’t bet money on it let alone Fabian’s life.
With all of his eight strength, he pushed his way through the crowd.
Sure, what damage it would do to him probably wouldn’t kill him, either. However, Riz doubted that anyone would get into the ring before that Firenewt rained down blows on Fabian’s unconscious form. By the time they pulled him off of Fabian, he’d be dead.
Despite the shouts for him to stop, Riz bounded up the metal railing and leaped off of it. Shocked gasps rang out behind him, but paid them no mind. He only smirked as, once he began to fall, spectral angel wings appeared on his back.
He’d thought that wearing this vest would be overkill for this afternoon’s sparring class, but, like always, his father was right. It always pays to be prepared. He was happy about all those gasps though. They were an excellent way to pull Fabian’s attention away from gloating and towards him.
“Riz!” Fabian shouted, his voice somehow loud enough to hear over all of the noise. The single step Fabian made toward him as his smile turned all soft and fond once his eye locked onto him wasn’t going to be enough to avoid the fire.
Maneuvering on his temporary wings, Riz tried to make himself fall faster while still keeping course towards Fabian. All the while he unfurled a multi-coloured braided length of rope, entwined with the help of all the Bad Kids last summer, from his belt. He’d yet to ever cast Rope Trick properly before, but if there was ever a time to do it, it’d be now.
In the split second before the Firenewt opened his mouth, Riz tossed the rope up into the air. He felt it catch on an extradimensional space and dove to grab Fabian’s awaiting hand. Then as Fabian's larger hand wrapped around his, he yanked as hard as he could on the rope to pull them up. Riz's muscles screamed at him as he held on to all of Fabian’s weight as they were both snatched up and into the hideaway he created.
“The Ball, what the—” Before Fabian could whip himself up into a bluster, Riz took his face into his hands as gently as he could and pointed it downwards. Letting him see through the window down into the pit as the Firenewt belched fire exactly where he was standing. Fabian’s eye went wide. “—Oh.” Meeting Riz’s know-it-all gaze, Fabian blushed before he put a hand on his chest and another against his forehead and said, “My hero.”
“Damn, right,” Riz said with a nod, ignoring how hot his cheeks felt. “What are we even doing here? Since when do you pit fight?”
Fabian groaned. Letting himself flop back into a sprawl on the floor of the Rope Trick as he explained himself. “Ugh, I didn’t mean to be here. Blaze, Gorgug, and I swapped bags accidentally. I got Gorgug’s, Gorgug got Blaze’s, and Blaze got-”
“Yours.” Riz interrupted, his mind still whirling a mile a minute. Peering down at the pit below, another question popped to the forefront of his head. “Where are we?”
“The City of Brass,” Fabian answered, barely lifting his head to do so.
“What?” Riz reared back before pressing his face to the glass of the Rope Trick’s window to the outside world. Only now, with this bird’s eye view did he notice the abundance of Fire Genasi, Azers, and other fireborn or touched creatures in attendance. No wonder it was so fucking hot! That’s the capital of the Plane of Fire for you. Wait. If he was brought here accidentally by Blaze that must mean—oh. Riz looked up from his snooping to crawl over to Fabian’s prone form. Peering over his head, Fabian’s lone silver eye opening as he did, Riz softly asked, “Did you go interplanar just to come find me?”
Fabian shrugged with an amount of adoration on his face that made Riz feel like he was about to throw up.
“I’d go to the ends of the multiverse to find you.” He said, simply. Almost nonchalantly. As if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Oh, Riz just couldn’t take it. Slapping his hands against his face, he fell back as well and curled into a ball. Fabian’s soft chuckles didn’t help. Especially not when he also pulled Riz over to him and wrapped him up in his arms. “What? Too mushy for you?” Riz could only nod, too overwhelmed with such big feelings. “Like you wouldn’t do the same.”
Of course, he would.
In a heartbeat.
He’d venture across the multiverse and back twice if that’s what it took to find him.
The two of them stayed just like that for a few long moments. Content to stay in this embrace for maybe the rest of eternity… Well, that’s a bit much. This spell wouldn’t even have an eternity. Maybe another fifty minutes. Tops.
If it weren’t for the stray glance Riz made downwards, they probably would’ve. But now that he felt like he could speak again, he couldn’t help but comment on the Firenewt below them. And how he was frantically punching the air around where he’d swept Fabian up from. “Huh, looks like your opponent is a bit confused.”
“I’m sure he is.” A beat. “Think I can drop down on him and knock him out?”
“Fabian.”
“What? I wanna win.”
Riz rolled his eyes, not immune to Fabian’s puppy dog pout, and said, “On my cue.” Fabian let out a whoop and kissed Riz’s cheek before he scrambled to get into place. “Drop down in three, two, one, now!”
In a fall, complete with twists and summersaults, Fabian soared out of the extradimensional space with flourish and theatrics. Landing on top of the poor Firenewt in an obnoxiously dramatic pose. Riz couldn’t hear anything from within the hideaway, but he knew the crowd must’ve been going nuts. He didn’t want to, but Riz couldn’t stop a fond smile from playing on his lips as he said, “That’s my guy.”
By the Gods, did Riz love him.
Whew!! There you go! I hope you liked it, Anon! Another one ticked off the bingo board!

Good news is the library has basically every One Piece book, bad news is I'm in competition with at least two other people so I'm resigned the most non-chronological read of all time bc I'm impatient. They had every book, then suddenly someone took 1-15, so I've been skipping around. No idea what's going on! Love the vibe tho.
Also making some decent headway on the goth fam fic, which is the shorter version of me wanting to write about sailing because I miss sailing. Hitsugibune's gotta be the only way on and off the island during the timeskip, but Mihawk's not about to let anyone take her for a spin, so Perona and Zoro have to either a. learn to sail her or b. prove they can sail her. I'm having fun with it. Mihawk is miserable. So here's a snippet:
--
“I don’t want to do this,” Perona announces. She’s standing at the edge of the dock, twirling her parasol in what Mihawk has come to recognize as a way to diffuse nervous energy. He’s already inside the ship, so she’s looking down at him with a frown on her face, watching him unfurl the sails.
“You said you could sail,” he says. He understands she hasn’t said she can’t, but he has the feeling that asking the exact reason for her sudden hesitation will yield nothing.
“I can,” she huffs. “I just don’t want to.”
Mihawk looks out towards the bay, where the water is calm and the morning sun hasn’t quite banished the mist. It’s as close to perfect sailing weather as it can get, because they can rely on the current to carry them out. As the temperature rises, the wind will come with it to carry them home. These are the kind of conditions a child can learn to sail on. If she won’t go now…
“I thought you were making Zoro do this, too,” she presses, glancing over her shoulder to where the castle looms in the distance.
“I am. If he finds the docks before we leave, he will join us.”
“I said I wasn’t going!” Perona shouts, rounding on him. “Ugh, quit telling me what to do! All I want is servants, not you bossing us around or - or the smelly monkeys!”
Flipping her parasol to the opposite shoulder, Perona turns and marches back up the dock. The fall of her heels echoes loudly across the water. Mihawk just watches her go. He’s barely even begun getting the ship ready to sail, and already he’s without both intended students.
He sits down at the stern of the boat, and draws his gaze over the bay and the water beyond. Last night there was a red sunset followed by a new moon, and right now it’s low tide. The clouds are fluffy and lazy as they drift across the horizon, and the wind indicator at the top of Hitsugibune’s mast barely flutters.
So: it’ll be a slow start, but pleasant enough once out beyond the bay. After a few hours, once the wind has come back across the sea, he can follow the high tide back to the docks with little trouble.
This is all very straightforward and simple to him. Less simple is determining how to get Zoro here at all, and figure out why Perona has abruptly changed her mind. These are not problems he wants to consider. Not now, or ever really, but he’s going to have to, sooner or later.
For the moment, he decides to take advantage of the weather. He frees the last line and uses the flat of Yoru’s blade to push off from the dock before securing her inside of Hitsugibune, and takes his place at the tiller to steer her out into the bay.
After all, when was the last time he’d sailed just for the sake of sailing?

A little headcannon tidbit based off of chapter 2 of @canarydarity 's ranchers baseball au <3
-----
St. Louis felt infinitely like home. Or, as close to home as Jimmy could get. Coming into the city from the Illinois side of the river made him sick to smell the air of his childhood backyard. To taste the dirt in his mouth as he, once again, lost against Grian at the diamonds. St. Louis was 10 times smaller than grand old New York, New York, but it was 10 times more welcoming. The drivers were calmer, the streets less full, the culture more laid back. It was a lazy city, sticky and slow like molasses in the early summer midwestern heat.
As the team bus rattled its way across the Eads Bridge, Jimmy felt Joel smack his arm, breaking his gaze away from the lazy flow of the Mississippi. “What in the bloody hell are they building?” Joel muttered, half standing to see over Tango’s shoulders across the isle. Tango looked as if he was about to burst out of the window, he was pressed so hard to the glass. He swiveled his head to look at Jimmy and Joel.
“You two haven’t heard? It’s been in every paper for weeks!” He was practically vibrating with excitement.
Jimmy shook his head and stood up taller to see what the fuss was about. By then, the whole team was ‘ooh and ahhing’ at the absolutely massive structure being built, right on the banks of the river.
“It’s going to be called the Gateway Arch. It’s probably going to be the biggest feat of engineering since the Empire State. Probably better than the Needle out in Seattle is going to be.” Jimmy raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smile on his lips. Since when did Tango have a special interest in engineering?
“I did a few months in an engineering class. Got me hooked, but numbers are easier to understand.” Tango explained, as if he had read Jimmy’s mind. Then he turned back around and continued to peer at the stories-tall cranes slowly moving into place, and the two wide, square beginnings of what would apparently become a feat of engineering. Jimmy didn’t really see the draw, but he leaned across Joel and the isle to Tango anyways.
“We should come back to see it once it’s finished.” Jimmy said, watching the construction site fade behind them. The Cardnial’s stadium appeared behind the looming Old Courthouse.
“I agree!” Tango replied, beaming. Jimmy didn’t care if he was 100 by the time the Arch was finished. He’d come back and see it with Tango when it was done.

hi worm i know you're reading this,,,ok I haven't had the energy (or time) to do any art for the baseball au but the brainrot has been stuck with me for DAYS. so I decided to write a little tidbit of how I imagined the ride into St. Louis for that game against the Cardnials. I have a lot of love for the city I grew up around so I really wanted to do something for it for you :) And if you're interested, here's some of the history I incorparated to make it feel more historically accurate! (i'm a cloested history buff, can you tell)
the st louis gateway arch began construction in 1963 technically, but I'm like 90% sure that there was soo much prep work done on the site before the actual construction, as there is a basement underneath it, and a huge walkway/viewing platform area, as well as the whole thing with the levee right on the Mississippi. I wanted to sort of figure out what that would look like in 1961 when the plans were being laid out. Also, the Arch is a certified national park, it's professional name being "St. Louis Gateway Arch National Park"
The Old Courthouse. UGH its one of my favorite buildings I've ever seen actually. Its so beautiful, and you can, from the road I'm writing them on, see Busch staduim looming behind it. The Courthouse also actually held the first two trials of the Dred Scott case, if you're into that kind of stuff.
The Eads Bridge. Also one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. It is the oldest bridge on the Mississippi and was constructed under the care of Andrew Carnagie. That bad boy is made out of actual authentic Carnagie steel. Sooo history rich. Pretty sure they actually held a parade with elephants once it was done. so that's cool
Oh, and Busch stadium. It wasn't called that way back when! And it looked much, much different than it does now. I'm honestly not sure what it was called in the 60's, but I'm sure most people called it Cardnial's stadium. It was a beautiful and massive stadium back then, and it still is now.
the seattle neetle was being constructed around the same time as the arch as well, which is why i had Tango say something about it LOL
And for funsies, here's a scorecard that I'm sure Tango would've recieved in 1961 from the stadium.
hope you enjoyed my little rant!! And if you made it to the bottom of this and you're not worm, I hope you enjoyed learning a little about st. louis today. :)
#tangotek#jimmy solidarity#rancher duo#team rancher#cloudy speaks too much#against all odds#baseball au#this is what i did instead of my final math project#this au is not mine!!#but you should go read against all odds guys#pls#trafficshipping

Vance Hopper Masterlist
"Are you ready for some fun!" Gwen yelled jumping up and down. I laughed at her, "yeah I am let's gooo!" I yelled back matching her energy. "Hey, Y/n," Robin and Finn said. "Hey, guys." We all walked down from my porch and started our walk to the drive-in. "Do you guys wanna get some snacks before we go?" Finn asked. "Do even have to ask that dude," Robin said causing us all to laugh. We walked to the local grab n' go. Talking the whole time about random things. "I hope they have Twix because they didn't have them last time." Gwen spoke up opening the door to the shop. "the delivery truck was here yesterday day so they should have them." Finney replied walking in after Robin. We all went our separate ways. I walked over to the freezer section to grab a coke.
As I was scanning the freezers I heard a loud bang and a string of cusswords let out beside me. I smiled already knowing who it was, I looked up to see him putting another courter in the machine. I would go over and say something to him, but everyone knows not to mess with Vance Hopper, especially when he's playing pinball. "Stop staring it's creepy." Robin laughed coming up behind me, "I wasn't staring, shut up." I rolled my eyes grabbing a coke out of the freezer beside me. "I don't know what you see in him," he cringed walking away to the chip Isle.
"Hey, that's not very nice Robin." I said running after him, he laughed grabbing a bag of barbecue chips, "I didn't mean for it to sound that mean," I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I turned to see Wesley smiling at me. "Hey Wes," I said smiling back, "Hello y/n I-I Was wondering if you would like to go out S-sometime?" He stuttered out, pushing up his glasses. I didn't know what to say, I would say no but I would feel bad, and if I say yes then- Wait does he mean on a date? "Um Hello y/n?" He said drawing out my name at the end, "Oh Sorry Wes, Are you asking me out on a date?" He shuffled awkwardly in his spot, gripping his backpack tighter.
"Well if you would like to go on a date with me… then yes." before I could respond to him Gwen yelled after me, "Y/n stop talking to your boyfriend, and let's gooo!" All people including Vance snapped their necks in my and Wesley's direction, I grabbed a couple more things and walked to the checkout. "So is that a yes or no on the date?" Wesley asked me "Sure we can go out." He smiled big "Does tomorrow sound good?" I Grabbed my stuff off of the counter and shot a quick glance at Vance who was already staring back at me. "Uh- I can't tomorrow, I'm kinda busy with something," Vance turned back towards his game popping another quarter in, I swear I saw him smile a little. "Oh okay will Saturday be fine?" I smiled and nodded my head. "Bye Wesley," I said walking out the door, "Bye y/n." He said dreamily."Bye Y/n," Robin mocked in a girly voice, batting his eyelashes.
"Stop ugh" I laughed. "I thought you liked Vance" Gwen spoke hitting my shoulder, "I do, but the chances of Vance liking me back are slim to none." Gwen sighed shaking her head, "You just need to write him a Love letter Anonymously, That way he knows how you feel." She smiled, "But he wouldn't know she wrote the letter," Finney replied. "That's the point." Me Gwen and robin all said at the same time. Finney threw his hands up in defeat, "Okay, My bad…Geez." Should I write a note to Vance, Does he even feel the same way? "I'll think about it," I informed "What about Wesley?" Robin asked, "He's just using me to get to my friend sage, I heard him talking to his friends in the hallway the other day, too bad sage doesn't like him back." I smirked walking up to the drive-in ticket booth, "Damnnn!" Robin and fin yelled causing me and Gwen to giggle. We paid for our tickets and found a spot close to the screen. We would have snuck in here but if we got caught Finney and Gwen's dad would be pissed.
♡♡♡
"Look all I'm saying is Dr pepper is the best soda to ever exist" Robin Said, "Yeah no dude, Pepsi cola is the best soda end of discussion," Finney argued back. Somehow on the way back to our houses we ended up arguing about which soda is better, Finney and Robin took it a little too seriously. "I swear to god-" Robin got cut off by Gwen jumping up and down and running towards the neighborhood playground. "Y/n push me!" She yelled running and sitting on the rusted swingset. "Last one to the monkey bars momma suck di-" "My mom is dead Robin." Finney deadpanned. "Right, There are a lot of attractive men in heaven," Robin said before speed-running to the monkey bars, Finney right behind him.
We ended up going to Bruster's shake shack and getting dinner and walking to Robin's house, we played a few games and joked around, we even prank-called the neighbors. Unfortunately, I had to get home before it got too late. we all said our goodbyes and walked our separate ways, luckily we all lived on the same street. I locked my front door and walked up to my room, I changed and got in bed and my cat curled up beside me and I fell asleep with Vance on my mind.
