S4 of the dragon prince was… a bit underwhelming. Especially since a majority was about something that apparently happened off screen during a time skip in a damn tie-in comic. Like. Bold of them to assume everyone watching is even aware of the comic. Let alone read it. They should’ve released a special episode that basically covered the events of the comic placed at the end of s3.

Like how The Sandman dropped Dream of a Thousand Cats/Calliope at the end of the current season. Plus Zubera really isn’t that interested in helping prevent the release of Aaravos. She sees some rocks and is like “oh no. I guess my work here is done” “but you didn’t do anything?” and abandons them to walk round the long way, when she could so easily destroy the rock pile. She’s a fucking dragon with lightning powers but I guess it’s; Who Would Win? A big Dragon Lady, or *pile of rock*. Rex Igneous took care of the rocks like it was nothing (and don’t give me Oh But He’s the Earth Arch-Dragon! Only he can move rocks! bc the guy shoots a yellow beam from his mouth sure but he brute forced it so no reason Zubera couldn’t.

And if anyone tries something sexist like Male Dragons are stronger than female dragons then congrats! You fail to appreciate that a dragon, especially an Arch Dragon, is a force of nature on legs and with a usually annoyed or tired disposition and have immense strength due to being a damned dragon. Also the Netflix image lies on how Rex looks. It depicts him (especially his face at least) as golden yellow, and he’s mostly brown.

Aaravos tho? That sexy elf stole the show in the one scene he was in like a Boss. Just possessed Callum, roasted literally everyone, then fucking Mic Dropped like the cool sexy bastard that StarTouch Elf is

Also why did we waste time with Callum find the Google Translate Book and deciphering the mirror runes if Zubera was literally just gonna monologue to us about it. It’d have been better if even with the book the runic script was a mystery. Adding to the fact the dragons used some kind of magic to erase mentions of him from history like when Viren tried researching Aaravos only for the words to blur and fade whenever he tried to look. And giving more validity for the dragon queen to tell us about it bc naturally she would know exactly what it was and did due to viren stealing it from Stormspire after slaying Avizandum/Thunder

Viren brushed Aaravos’s hair as usual, expression unimpressed. “Do you have a particular hairstyle you want to die with? Something that really screams ‘eaten by an archdragon?’ ‘Buried in an avalanche’, perhaps?” “How little faith you all have!” exclaimed Aaravos with mock offense. “We’ll be fine.” Terry sighed. “I’d like to stay positive, but I had the weirdest stress dreams last night.” He spread his arms wide as if telling a fishing story, but vertical instead. “Aaravos was a hundred feet tall!” Aaravos chuckled. “What a wild dream.” He shook his head so his waves of hair flowed freely down his back. “Just leave it, today. I’ll keep my signature look.” Viren’s sulking only lasted until Sir Sparklepuff crawled behind him and ran his fingers clumsily through Viren’s short hair, mimicking the hair brushing. He jumped at first but gradually relaxed, letting Sir Sparklepuff carry on. “So, we’ll waltz in and everything will be fine?” Callum paled. “Oh no- we have to find gifts before we go! Rex Igneous demands tribute in the form of gifts to even be allowed to meet him.” Aaravos placed a hand on his own collarbone. “I’m a gift.” Callum’s withering look had no effect.

love that every season of tdp a new archdragon is introduced and the story hypes them up to be this legendary ancient powerful fearsome creature and then they talk and it’s just the mythical equivalent of a depressed 40 year old that’s waiting for the sweet release of retirement.
