i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good

Imagining a couple of guards seeing how casually Soren hugs and touches Corvus even just in passing, and they think “oh! Looks like Corvus is getting more comfortable with us in the Crownguard! That’s great!”

So next time they are all chatting one of the guards tries to rest their hand on Corvus’s shoulder he immediately moves away and give them a weird look.

They are people Corvus is close with, they are people he would consider friends and yet anytime someone other than Soren tries any level of back patting or friendly touch like elbowing its an immediate ‘no’ accompanied with a warning glare. But when Soren comes by and literally picks him up that’s perfectly fine, Soren’s allowed to do that.

Soren doesn’t seem to notice he’s the only one allowed to do that though, he’s wrapping his arms around Corvus’s waist and resting his chin on-top of his head without a second thought completely unaware that just an hour ago Corvus smacked someones hand for trying to touch his shoulder

You know, I always hoped that they’d cut his hair short in the future for some symbolic reasons, but I wonder if it’d actually be better if his hair didn’t simply get stained but actually turned darker in the future. (I’ve always wondered how the effects of dark magic would look like on him, which I wouldn’t say his dark hair would be solely reflective of that necessarily, but that maybe it’d be representative of a whole lot of things including that which could help to juxtapose him to Claudia, Callum, and Viren.)

Corvus, a reserved person who didn't like to be touched, slowly starting to feel comfortable with Soren to the point of snuggling into his arms is so special to me

Pyrrah definitely has a “no kissing during dragon flights” rule once Soren and Corvus get together, and I’m thinking about how incredibly awkward it must’ve been for Ezran to have to be the one to tell them.

Like, I’m sure Pyrrah tried to hint at it while they were flying back to Katolis after a stint looking for Harrow, but they kept thinking she was just hitting some turbulence. And it doesn’t matter what kissing: cheek, hand, on the lips - she doesn’t want any of that funny business happening on her.

So when they’re about to leave after a few days in Katolis to debrief and rest, as Ezran is saying goodbye to them he stutters out something about how Pyrrah requests there be no more in-flight kissing if they want to stay on her good side.

Soren and Corvus are, of course, mortified.
