NAME TROUBLE: When Rammstein started making music together, they did so as a collective. When they released Herzeleid, they only put a headshot of each band member in the booklet - no names, or no reference to who played which instrument. They didn’t even give out their names when doing interviews. «Just write Rammstein», three of them told Zillo in 1995. «We don’t make a personality cult. Although our personal opinions are very different, we try to represent a unified opinion to the outside world.»

«We see ourselves as a solid unit», Paul Landers said to Rock Hard. «Actually, it wasn’t originally conceived that way, but if we sit in the rehearsal room for example, and only one band member is not present, nothing constructive happens, simple as that. We only function when all six people are there. So we’re not a band where everything is built around one leader, but more or less six doers, each of whom - depending on their stubbornness - contributes as much as possible.»

Because of that, they insisted on doing their Herzeleid press tour with all band members. «Right», Paul said, «However, it turns out that most of the time only three of us talk after all, which is why the others can stay at home in the future and not have to worry about that crap.»

Since then, Rammstein have been in the media countless times, though over the years, many journalists have had trouble with the names of the band members. Apparently it can also been difficult to distinguish between the different band members, and strangely enough, Christoph Schneider and Richard Kruspe seem to get mixed up quite frequently...

ned flanders .. where to fucking start .. in the shortest way possible, that is

well, quickly. me? getting along with ned flanders? In Real Life? hell no! simply by virtue of me being the person i am. perhaps the band Dr. Colossus put it one way when they said “Stupid Sexy Flanders / Republican at best / Politically to the right / Dexterity to the left” (haloes .. my Dr. Colossus mention) but who’s to say how accurate that is now. i too am lefthanded you know. and we all saw him kiss fat tony. and he missed him too

anyway, simple put. i think ned flanders is like. a deep character - thanks in part to his religiousness. now you can throw your hands up about like his, well, flanderisation - from the homer simpson perfect neighbour foil to unbearably devout christian - but it does effect multiple aspects of his life in really interesting ways

so you’re telling me this man hates his beatnik parents? (Hurricane Neddy) what, did he cling to religion as a way to other himself from them? carelessly raised by them without discipline? repressing his anger for years? and how does that reflect upon his own kids, brought up in a strict christian household. his own kids he’ll be overprotective of because he can’t afford to lose them like he lost their mother (Bart Has Two Mommies), but who are still harshly scorned and punished when their faith in christ waivers? (Todd, Todd, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?)

and what if when he doubts? when god takes both of his wives? (Alone Again, Natura-Diddly, O C’mon All Ye Faithful) his wives who he loved and will continue to grieve for? (I’m Goin’ to Praiseland, Diary Queen) and what of his second wife, huh? fourth grade teacher krabappel? how he learns to lower his religious guards for her? (Ned ‘n Edna’s Blend Agenda) how happy they were, however brief, with these compromises they made for each other? (The Man Who Grew Too Much) and krabappel’s relationship with rod and todd, did she have an effect on them? is it her influence whenever they speak out? (Bull-E) then again, we all know how impressionable those two are on a whim .. (Bart the Lover) and, goodness fucking gracious, so on and so forth. and they replaced his wives with a dog

sighs .. i can admit he can get Dead Wife Guy with it sometimes but i do think flanders is like .. a bit of a tragic man? i dunno, that “And I did something I hadn’t done in, I don’t know how long. God help me, I smiled.” in The Many Saints of Springfield lives sorrowfully in my brain. dude, after losing so much - his wives, his business he went bankrupt for (When Flanders Failed), his teaching job (Left Behind). like .. man. i dunno

i think it’s a little hard to watch a flanders-centric episode without wondering what it means for ned and his family on a deeper level, even for an episode as innocuous as Fland Canyon (what do you mean todd has night terrors that maude held him through? and that it’s todd’s nightmare of forgetting maude’s face that made him stop believing in christ?)

and, hey. if you’re really crazy enough, you could squint and make out some sort of aquatic sea creature motif with the Jellyfish Festival and song in A Star Is Born Again and his profound emotional processing in faith down in the hadal zone in O C’mon All Ye Faithful

regardless, all this to say. yeah .. i may be a bit of a nedhead :]

Nice to know that Nippon Animation has plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their studio which will be held next year.

....

......

Then again, I don't expect they will introduce something new to that studio. I bet they'll keep introducing merchandise based on some their popular anime shows to have content for that upcoming event. It's tiring to see the likes of "Rascal" and "Romeo's Blue Skies" all over again, despite both of those shows are pretty good overall. That kind of habit is the reason why Nippon Animation lost its popularity in anime fandom.

ppl are always depicting cyno in fanon as a comic relief annoying idiot partner to tighnari that cannot read the room and is always making him angry and yeah he doesn't have the best social skills and doesn't understand other people that well, but he knows that. and he also knows tighnari well enough to know that if he truly was annoyed with his behavior to the point of getting angry, he would shut that shit down real quick. he's not the type of person to just sit there and take it if he's genuinely bothered, i think. cyno's just putting himself out there without letting himself be paralyzed by his own shortcomings or insecurities, and it's pretty clear tighnari doesn't want him to repress himself either.

if anything, i can see tighnari being the one with an annoying habit in private that he has 0 self awareness about because he's so used to being the one dealing with other people's bullshit that he may not realize when he's the culprit for once, and cyno is too much of an unbothered king to say anything about it, and too madly in love to stay annoyed for long lol

I think smthn a lot of people don’t get about nene that bugs me is that her hater thing kind of seems to be 1) more of her actual personality coming through now that she has a group she’s really comfortable with 2) primarily aimed at tsukasa (she’s noticeably nicer to rui although she’ll occasionally make fun of him (fondly) & it’s even rarer for her to poke fun at emu)* 2.2) that’s kind of just the nene & tsukasa dynamic. She doesn’t actually hate him** and he doesn’t take what she says to heart. Fondly bullying your friends is a beautiful art.

*frequently seeing ppl act like she’d pull out the hater vibes with rui completely unprompted or even characters outside of wxs and like. She would not fucking say that.

**cannot fuckin stand seeing people act like she’s actually evil for poking fun at tsukasa leave her alone… also rui (& occasionally emu) literally backs her up frequently bc it is A Bit to them. It is always funny to bully tsukasa tenma and nene is the funniest bitch of them all. Also tsukasa deserves it for his dumb behavior in the main story.

That fire safety drama piece done by Ned and Maude Flanders in Brother’s Little Helper (s11 e2) is quite possibly the best thing I have ever seen.

...would immediately look up the details, wanting to know how exactly it was done, and who it targeted.

People who are genuinely scared for themselves or any other innocent lives would be the first ones to dive into research on the event. And on the groups targeted. Their safety would depend on knowing these things.
