What a surprise! Another new "Anne of Green Gables" anime is currently in the works. The new adaptation will be titled "Anne Shirley" and it is said that it's story will be based on first three "Anne" novels - "Anne of Green Gables", "Anne of Avonlea" and "Anne of the Island". The anime will be scheduled to be released on April 2025.
As for someone who had watched a lot of classic literature based anime for a long time, I think that news is some sort of slap in the face to Nippon Animation, an anime studio known for making a lot of anime based on novels particulary the "World Masterpiece Theater" series. Considering Nippon Animation is planning to have 50th anniversary of that studio next year, seeing a certain animation studio having interest of doing an anime adaptation of the novel is a sign that the former should never rely on their nostalgia and try to step up aside from selling merchandise. It also means there are people in animation studio in Japan who believe there's still a market to these kind of anime. Here's hoping that the new "Anne of Green Gables" anime will receive well.

On this day marks the 20th anniversary of "North and South" 2004 version starring Daniela Denby-Ashe ad Margaret Hale and Richard Armitage as John Thornton. This version was said to be less publicised but became an instant hit, to the point that the message board of BBC's website was crashed due to many people visiting it at that time. It was voted as the "Best Drama" in BBC drama website's annual poll at the same year.

Just after I watched the "Jane Eyre" 1956 version which is available on the Internet last week, I managed to find this full promo photo of Daphne Slater (Jane) and Stanley Baker (Mr. Rochester). This is the only promo photo of 1956 version on the Internet so far (The rest are either destroyed or sold given it was produced around 50's).
Try watching "Jane Eyre" 1956 version. It's a pretty good adaptation of said title.
P.S: I admit Mr. Rochester's trousers in the show is sometimes distracting. It looked tight and somewhat appealing for some reasom.

I'm so glad I managed to open my old e-mail account after I messed up a certain web browser I often use without knowing it deleted its browsing and password history. I thought I would never use it anymore. Thank goodness it gave me a chance to replace some of back-up e-mails I never used with new active ones and change passwords in some accounts to avoid that mistake. To be honest, adding extra security is risky especially the stuff you put into it would be later forgotten or worse taken away. I'm relieved it all went back to normal.

Helen, Gilbert and Arthur in "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" 1968 version (left) and 1996 version (right).
Both of these versions were produced and aired on BBC. These are the only TV adaptations of said title.

one of the Moments of jane eyre is when jane is conflicted about st john rivers' offer and calls for a sign from god about what she should do and then she fucking hears mr. rochester calling for her in her head and immediately makes up her mind to Go To Him after a year and says she's coming and asks where he is and a while after she reunites with him he goes "oh yeah one time a little bit ago I was so anguished that i cried out your name and I actually heard you answer back. you said you were coming and asked where i was. crazy how that happened because it's not like you could have actually heard me or anything" and then she just tells The Reader that she knows that somehow she Really Was Answering Him but then she also goes "...y'know what I don't think he can handle that information right now so i'm just gonna keep that to myself" and then it's just never fucking brought up again

This reminds me of Mr. Rochester.
The best quality a fictional man can have is being deeply, pathetically, wretchedly in love with someone, I think
