People: *questioning and complaining why Heathcliff (played by Jacob Elordi) wears a gold tooth in the latest movie adaptation of "Wuthering Heights"*
Me: *wondering why most TV and movie adaptations of "Jane Eyre" forgot the part where Mr. Rochester wears a ring on his right hand*

Many people who dislike the idea about Jane wanted to be with Mr. Rochester for good probably had no idea that she can do things she wanted after that and Mr. Rochester will likely support her decision. It was implied in the novel that she travelled abroad and she managed to purchase a tombstone for Helen which both require plenty of money. Being a new mistress of Rochester family, she can gain at least some friends and allies within and outside the estate. She'll manage the estate thanks to her experience she learned from her husband.. She bore at least one son to inherit the Rochester estate in the next generation increased her chances to be financially secure. Considering she was shown being generous when she has a lot of money, she could probably use at least a portion of Rochester income to help others like supporting some schools she choose and helping many poor children. The possibilities are many for the likes of Jane. Just because she is married, it doesn't mean it's the end of her life.
jane eyre specifically is so crazy because the thing that makes jane decide that she can be with mr rochester in a partnership that is truly one of equals is that she gains a ton of money and he loses his eyesight and his house and his money and his reputation. THAT'S what it takes to bring them to a level of equality. and it also fully isn't true like.......she is still trapped!!!! she escapes the trap and is free and never has to set foot in the trap again and she willingly steps back into the trap and insists she's not trapped at all. it's crazyyyyyyyy

I was rewatching "Jane Eyre" 2006 version and during the part where Jane discovered that Mr. Rochester's bed is burning, I saw the scene where Mr. Rochester woke up with his chest being exposed.
Tumblr media
I admit it was distracting but for some reason it was appealing at the same time. After the fire went out, Mr. Rochester shook Jane hands as thanks for saving him from being burned. What added in this version is that Jane and Mr. Rochester felt they wanted to touch each other more and they do that on-screen. After they shook hands, Jane tilted her head down a bit. She might be looking at his hands or floor as if she was embarassed for looking at him but because of the darkness in the room there was an implication that she was staring at Mr. Rochester's upper body. Mr. Rochester realized that Jane was attracted to his chest and understood her desire to touch it.
Tumblr media
Mr. Rochester decided to get his chest close to hers and both at them stare at each other to express something they felt beyond gratitude.
Tumblr media
Talk about that scene still being hot even after the fire was out. No wonder Jane felt giddy in her bedroom after that. She kissed her hands that Mr. Rochester touched then put it on her chest where he also touched.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can see why the 2011 version starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender did something similar with almost kiss scene. It's nice to discover something hidden from rewatching the shows you like.

A certain TV channel in our country has announced that they will air "Titanic" movie starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo diCaprio on Holy Week this year. I remember how this movie became trendy in our country when it was aired around 2019 during that holiday. It doesn't have much cuts but it censored the parts where Rose is naked while Jack is sketching her and the one they made love inside the car below the ship's cargo. Due to its popularity, it was re-aired in 2020 in that same holiday and it became part of tradition there along with "The Ten Commandments" movie and "The Bible" series ever since. The movie is still good and I can see why many people were moved after watching it.

When I read the passage about Jane getting meals for Adele, herself and Sophie early while the guests are on the other room in Chapter 17, it reminds me of the scene in Chapter 7 where Jane was forced to share her meals with two of her bullies and ended up starved many times when the food was scarce back when she was a student at Lowood. I guess Jane still had a trauma from it and doesn't want to repeat that again. She even had to avoid the guests fearing she will be judged for hoarding it or take them away.

I didn't expect that "Anne Shirley" is available to watch on Youtube in our country for free! Someone managed to license it which is a surprise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The scene between Anne and Matthew here is fast paced but still satisfying.
Tumblr media
Th first thing I noticed is that the first few chapters of the novel are crammed in the show. A lot of the dialogues in the show are less faithful compare to the novel but so far it didn't bother me. The pacing is good so far. It has some funny expressions from the characters like in the scene where Marilla looked quite annoyed after Anne told her she should be called "Cordelia".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first episode includes the part where Marilla observes how Anne behaves during breakfast then the scene where they go the shore and the encounter with Mrs. Blewett. For some reason, the show didn't mention about Katie Maurice, the cabinet where Anne imagined it as her first friend. The show stops when Marilla and Anne went home to Green Gables then Anne gave a prayer for giving her a home to stay with the Cuthberts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first episode has a good impression so far. Pacing is satisfying despite many of the dialogues are different for the sake of fitting the scenes from the first few chapters of the novel. Here's hoping the rest of the episodes will be available to watch in our country.

I'm on season six of "My Hero Academia" and the story is gripping enough to make me continue watching it in the early morning.
Tumblr media
It's sad that many areas in Japan are starting to become dystopic and the public are starting to distrust the heroes after the failure of winning against the Paranormal Liberation Front leading by Tomura Shigaraki. Izuku is forced to leave his school, friends at UA and home as one the results of it to protect them being hurt by PLF again and to prevent the public from discovering his secret involving One For All which its power is in near peak. With all the sadness and disapointment, what made me impressed about the 6th season is this:
Tumblr media
The Dark!Deku costume as many fans called it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love this latest costume because it looked cool. It lacked equipment but its appearance fits his status being lonely and isolated in the story. It also shows that Izuku has matured (his voice is more deeper) and more powerful. His masters are his previous wielders of One For All and he can even talk to them mentally. He's able to control the Quirks from them as well.
Tumblr media
Despite his eerie looking costume, Izuku is still kind and continues to save others. He even has a nice reaction when he received his favorite food which is cute.
Tumblr media
I expect that there will be some nasty effects from using many Quirks he has but who knows.

"Jane Eyre" is mentioned in an episode from "Phineas and Ferb" entitled "A Hard Days Knight". After a news from VBBC (parody of BBC) featured a battle between a giant mecha Queen Elizabeth I and dragon operated by Perry the Platypus and Dr. Doofenshmirtz, the news reporter announced a new adaptation "Jane Eyre" is in the works.

I hanged out with my mother to buy some things today. She received a money from an old friend abroad and used some of it to buy some things she needed at home. She allowed me to buy a dessert in a fast food restaurant as a treat (She doesn't mind to buy food in a restaurant whenever she has plenty of money). I bought cookies and cream sundae only (I don't like to buy much food because I ate some cheese sandwich at home earlier and I told her to save some of the money she left for next week) and ate a piece of star apple there. She bought some of that fruit near the restaurant. It was a nice start of summer.

David Rintoul (Mr. Darcy) and Elizabeth Garvie (Elizabeth Bennet) in "Pride and Prejudice" 1980 version.
Where can I watch this version? I saw some clips of it on Youtube but they're not complete. I want to watch it to see more of "Pride and Prejudice" adaptations. It seemed obscure to find compare to 1995 and 2005 versions.

I found out that the Alma Classics cover of "We" novel by Yevgeny Zamyatin was inspired from "Metropolis" movie poster. I watched "Metropolis" last year and it was pretty good. That and "We" were said to be first media to introduce dystopian genre and source of inspiration of some of the most popular stories in that similar genre like "1984".
