I think Nightwing really kinda has a villain problem, I was thinking adaptations and which of his villains would make a good one in a movie and I got a few but not a lot actually that are just his.
Blockbuster is the first one that comes to mind that is his completely.
You could also take Deathstroke, he is a Titan's villain with a special interest for Dick and he has been an antagonist in his solo before.
He has other villains but they are not great, And would need to be remade for the movie to have more substance (Raptor could be a good one actually).
There are other options though: like take a Batman villain who he has a lot of history with and adapt that coughTwo-Facecough but I feel like Nightwing needs to be established and have that history with the world and the villain before they do that.
They could take one of the batman Rogue created during the DickBats period like Professor Pig or Flamengo. They did it in the comics when Damian came.
The suggestion I am going to make next is a controversial one...They could make the court of Owls... His instead of Batman ? I don't know how I feel about this one,I'm kinda torn because on one hand, I don't really like the Court of Owls in general as villains for reasons but I don't know, maybe it could be interesting in live-action and Dick is extremely important to the Court of Owl storyline in the comics and they are kinda as much his villains as Batman in the comics.
Maybe Owlman could be a Nightwing villain ? Considering the relationship he has with his Earth's Dick Grayson in the comics, the weird attachment he has to our Dick because of that and the parallel/contrast between Bruce and Thomas ?

Greetings!
I was wondering about your thoughts on Bernard Dowd for the Owl Court Family AU, you said the Drakes were new money and that’s why they’re (in part) not a part of the Court.
Based off what we’ve seen of seen of Bernard’s parents in Tim Drake: Robin we know that 1) they have money (but not if it’s new or old money) and 2) that they’re up to something SHADY.
Would you imagine them as part of the Court? Part of some other organization/cult?
Do Tim and Bernard get together in this AU, and does that cause any drama because of Bernard’s shady parents?
How do the others react to them getting together if they do?
——
I personally can imagine Bernard’s parents, if they know about the Court, but aren’t a part of it, after finding out about Bernard’s crush on Tim, trying to get him to “snap out of it” (His mom did call Tim Bernard’s “friend” in Tim Drake: Robin #7) and then when that didn’t work think well, if he’s into Tim Drake, might as well make the most of it and try to manipulate the situation
Which, if that’s the case, poor Barnard because things would definitely not go well for the Dowd’s if Cobb found out about that 👀
——
(Sorry for the many questions/mini rant lol, I think your AU is really neat and I’m rather curious about how Bernard might be incorporated if he is)
Thank you for reading my rambles! ^.^
Hi! 💚
So I can totally see the Dowds being part of the Court, but also… I can see them keeping their… “extracurriculars”… a secret from their son (for whatever reason).
Bernard is the ultimate fanboy of anything vigilante/conspiracy related, and with the absence of actually vigilantes in Gotham I think he’d fixate on rumors of shady cults. Like the Court of Owls (something his parents are none too happy about).
Of course, there’s also Robin/Nightwing beating up criminals eventually, always accompanied by something darker, something scarier, that keeps the Boy Wonder safe. Bernard only gets far enough in his investigations to hear about “the Gray Son of Gotham” before he hits a dead end though, so everything beyond that is mostly speculation.
I think Bernard and Tim would meet in school during the time neither of them have anything to do with the Court. Maybe they’re friends, or perhaps just acquaintances. Either way, Tim ends up falling head first into the world of the Court (thanks to Jason’s near death) and as a consequence he would probably cut back on interacting with his civilian friends a lot. At first out of fear that Cobb will make true on his threat to kill everyone Tim loves, and later because… well, the damage of distance is done.
But they’d meet again a little later, hit it off (Tim just can’t help finding all those wild conspiracy theories absolutely adorable. Shut up, Bruce, I remember you staring at Will all night last night because the guys smiled), and I’d like to say the rest is history but… it’s not.
When Bernard works up the nerve to tell his parents about Tim Drake being his boyfriend… they appear curiously delighted. Ecstatic, even. Encouraging meetings and dates and inquiring one too many times if everything is going alright between them. (Never asking if Bernard is treated well, never asking if he is happy, only Drake, Drake, Drake…)
And naturally, the Dowds go too far. Demand too much. And Cobb becomes suspicious of their motives, uncovers a whole lot of dirt on the Dowds, and… well, the Court of Owls does not tolerate traitors. One foul egg spoils the whole batch. Court protocol is to exterminate the entire immediate family.
Including Bernard…

Accidental Villain Lair Acquisition
Team Phantom fleed Amity after a bad run with GIW. They found themselves in Gotham, then proceed to discover some interesting things underneath the city.
There is a natural spring of ectoplasm, for one. Not as pure as realms quality, but beggers choosers and whatever.
Then there's the messed up group of enthralled liminals too.
In other words, the court of owls are not having a good time at all. And Team Phantom accidentally become the new court. Yay...?
Bonus:
Danny:if I get a penny every time I gained the right to rule by rite of conquest, I'll have two. Which isn't a lot but... Why the fudge does this keep happening???

Got a new idea cooking in my head.
Another DPxDC idea.
A reborn into DCverse Toddler!Danny but also Dad!Dick and Talons.
Danny is reborn into the DCverse (either he's a clone of Dick, a created test tube baby, OR a kid Dick unknowingly had during his amnesia year) and wakes up in the Court of Owls who finally have their Gray Son and will turn him into the greatest Talon ever.
Thing is, Danny still has his ghost powers (King Danny? Idk leaving it open, either that or just able to control clean ectoplasm) and knows whatever fruitloops have him, this will not be fun. So, when none of the Owls are watching him, he uses his abilities to influence a few Talons and they all book it out of the place.
Danny later finds himself walking the dirty Gotham streets with a few Talons, one holding his hand while the others hide in the shadows in case they need to protect the baby Talon they all care for.
Of course, the sighting of a Talon holding a toddler's hand catches the camera's and Oracles attention very very fast.
One of the Batboys is sent out, not Dick he's on a space mission right now, and whoever it is, is shocked to see a toddler that has a LOT of similarities to Dick.

It didn't have to go so hard, and yet.

He didn't know how far he had wandered. He had just kept running and running, for once glad of his newfound body's constitution. But now he was finally tired and he doubted his pursuers were close by (if they were even looking for him anymore). So for now, he found an abandoned warehouse, bundled up under a tarp, and rested.
----
Wally had been scouting the area for the enemy when he found the boy. He'd noticed a particularly weird shaped clump in the corner and when he removed the tarp, he found a body. At first he thought the body was dead since he had no pulse and was cold to the touch. But then the boy suddenly sat up causing Wally to have to back up (he did not yelp from the sudden movement thank you very much).
The boy backed up towards the warehouse wall and pulled his knees to his chest as he studied Wally. For his part, Wally studies the boy back. He was clad in a black suit with golden accents and more knives that Wally was comfortable with. His golden avian eyes seemed to bore into the young hero. They seemed to size Wally up as opposed to being full of fear. Additionally, despite being huddled away in hiding the boy displayed no signs of fear. Overall it felt less like he was cowering away and more like he was silently judging him. Wally really didn't like how it felt like this kid would slit his throat if given the chance.
As the two continued their staring contest, Wally felt a gust of wind and Barry was suddenly by his side. "Kid Flash, what's up? You weren't answering your co-" Barry trailed off as he noticed the boy.
He side glanced at Wally but the sidekick only shrugged back. Barry stepped forward. The boy tensed, muscles suddenly tight and body ready to spring. Barry quickly put his hands up.
"We don't want to hurt you," He said. "Quite the opposite actually. We're heroes, we can help."
The body blinked long and slow at him, before finally his body seemed to uncoil. He gracefully got to his feet and neared the pair, circling around them once before stopping in front of them with a soft smile.
Wally returned it with a smile of his own. "So uh- why are you here? Is someone chasing you or something? Wait, what's your name first?"
The boy's face crumpled into something sad before he pulled down the collar of his suit to reveal a scar running across his throat. Oh. Both heroes side glanced each other at the same time, a silent communication shared between them. The bats? The bats.

DP x DC Crossover where Danny gets de-aged more towards his ghost-age and got adopted.
But he didn't exactly get adopted by a batfamily member, or even any hero, or a villain.
Honestly this Talon who just found a literal toddler that surfaced in a runoff of the Lazarus Pit is rather confused. Like on one hand should they be killing it?? But the idea of killing the strange tiny talon-sibling seems so viscerally wrong???
Welcome to having the first mental breakdown of many funky golden-eyed man that Danny thinks might be more feral than he is. Oh well, at least this person isn't a fruitloop and speaks in sort-of ghost speak? And sometimes more gold-eyed people appear to help care for him? Like they obviously don't know how to do so, but they're trying their best and honestly he's pretty self-sufficient. Ish.
The Court of Owls have no fuckin' clue where a good third of their Talons have disappeared to or why they can't call them back.

Batfams sin Batman are some of my ✨favorite✨ AUs.
Consider:
Talon!Dick gets assigned to Tim Drake (kid of an Owl family, the Drakes.) They are both very lonely and EXTREMELY undersocialized. They bond.
They eventually meet up with Resurrected!Jason, who has already lived and died (RIP) and is now back to take Gotham under his crime lord wing. It'd work better if tiny!Damian wasn't clinging to him, but eh. It'll do.
"If we work together, we could take down the court of owls...👀"
Red Hood now operates out of Drake manor. Rent is free and they don't lose out on warm water at random. It checks out.
Damian goes out at random because he's eight and a menace. On three separate occasions, he comes back with a cat, a dog, and Cassandra Cain
"Cain is LIKE a dog." "A girl is not a dog, Damian."
"Sometimes they are." "DAMIAN."
Jason comes home one day with Duke. No one questions it. He's just lumped into the cloud of brothers/sister/sibling thing they currently have going on and he gets sorely needed sandwiches
The destruction of the court of owls ensues—badly, because everyone is under the age of 25, and poorly fed to boot—
and then culminates in Batman opening an unusually loud sewer grate, and finding a) a dead child he failed to save, b) his dead son, c) the neighbor, d) TWO child assassins, and, 5) Duke Thomas, arguing at the top of their lungs about how to attack a highly sought after and popular local politician.
Batman looks at the Robins(es).
The Robins(es) look at Batman.
...Everyone immediately books it in a different direction lol

Me, thinking peacefully about Batfam scenarios in the shower when this gem hits me:
Damian should get a pet owl and name it "Grayson"
The same way he did with Alfred the cat, only it plays on the Court of Owls obsession with Dick and/or (if it's a Talon Dick AU) on the fact that Dick is "part owl" and said owl reminded Damian of him (maybe, if it is a Talon Dick AU, then it also helps Dick accept that part of him, since there's something good/nice/wholesome coming out of it and he's not just some monster that everyone is afraid of)

DC X DP Prompt: Talons
Okay, so you know how everyone talks about how Danny and Jason would recognize each other as members of the undead in a way?
Well, what about Talons? The Talons are basically undead assassins, so Danny would also recognize them. And maybe if you want to go with the idea that Danny is the Ghost King, the Talons might even feel more loyalty to Danny than the Court of Owls.
Or maybe it would leave them conflicted and confused. Maybe, with that confusion, it would give them a chance to fight back against the brainwashing of the Court of Owls and make their own decisions.
