This is actually another edit that just came to be because I was trying things out, BUT I also have an idea for a fic and this could very well be an edit I could use as an 'illustration' of that fic actually. Since the idea would include a scene where Adar and Celebrimbor are across the battlefield from each other during the siege of Eregion.

(That being said, due to how I had to crop Celebrimbor's pic, this could depict a lot of other things/scenes as well. Celebrimbor might be in Adar's camp and arguing, or Adar could be directly in front of Eregion looking up at Celebrimbor for example.)

Okay I’m going to ramble about this because when have I known not to I love it so much and I put a lot of work into the details and well, because I want to 😂 (I can’t promise no spoilers, so if you haven’t read the fanfic, beware).

So the banner? It was an accident. I didn’t mean to combine these two images, I meant to use each separately, but something happened and ended up opening them in the same file and the symbolism killed me. Merlin spends 90% of the story haunted by that tower and lake, either because he’s fearing them taking Arthur back or because of his nightmares. He’s hated that tower all his 1500 years there and then, of course, the ending.

For the episodes, I chose my favorite chapters (surprise, surprise lmao) and my favorite scene from each and a quote that I felt encompasses the feel of the chapter. I didn’t want to make my own summaries because, well, I can’t give my own stories proper summaries so I wasn’t gonna try. The 1st ep is chapter 17, and the scene is the one when Arthur realizes how how hard it must’ve been for Merlin to lie for all these years, to hide who he really was. It’s the one he cries after Eleanor, Merlin’s “assistant” doesn’t believe his last name is Pendragon and he realizes he has to lie about who he really was or be met by ridicule all his life. I love the parallel.

The second is chapter 18 and the scene is the one where drunk Arthur asks Merlin to blow out the candles because he has a thing for Merlin’s magic because the entire scene, and the quote, shows him completely accepting Merlin and Merlin realizing that and it’s such a sweet moment. Also completely flustered Merlin in that scene was gold the mutual pinning AHHHH. (tbh I wanted a picture of Heath and Daniel kissing and Arthur wantching like an idiot xD but I couldn’t find any stock images that worked and my photoshop skills aren’t that good to edit something </3) (btw, I had to learn how to change someone’s eye color with photoshop for Merlin’s eyes 😂).

Chapter 19 is of course the fight they end up having in the corridor while Arthur is half naked because they’re literal children. Also I love how the quote is totally misleading to what actually happens in the chapter 😈

20 is the one where Arthur goes up to Merlin’s greenhouse I know there should be plants and it wasn’t in Gaius’s place shut up I have a thing for Arthur watching Merlin work okay.

19 is the roof moon watching scene <3 and it kills me and ahhhhhhh (can you tell I edited the image myself? I couldn’t find any that worked well enough lmao).

The songs are pretty much self-explanatory. I encourage anyone who loves merthur to listen to them. Night terror is especially dear to me because it fits so well “I woke up and he was screaming, I left him dreaming, I run back and hold him tightly, and scream if you want him, you’re gonna have to fight me.” I can never do Laura’s singing voice justice though. In the live version she whistles the melody <3

Also I need to mention this line from reflecting light because uhhhh <3 “Now that I’ve worn out the world, I’ve worn out the world, I’m on my knees in fascination, looking through the night, and the moons have never seen me before, cause I’m reflecting light.”

(Also the pun of reflecting light didn’t occurs to me until I was done with the edit lmao).
