I get it's likely too late for the ask game but can we talk abt Tabitha? Ever since we knew she's a dream I'm worried abt her and what happens after Morpheus gets back, I don't want the boys to lose such a lovely friend!

I’ve known she was a dream since I wrote her into Fool’s Gold, so I’ve been aware the whole time that we’re gonna have to deal with what happens to her when Morpheus gets back and rounds up all the runaway dreams. She has a part to play in the next longfic I’m writing.

To answer a question you DIDN’T ask, though, it is interesting to crack open the issues of the boys losing friends.

They’ve been detectiving for 30+ years, but their stated plan is to keep doing this forever. They’re functionally immortal, which isn’t true for most characters they’re likely to encounter. If all goes well for them, they’re going to outlive the Constantines, and Crystal, and virtually everyone else they meet. Even entities like Tabitha and other ghosts don’t usually plan to hang around the earth forever.

I think there’s a price to pay for choosing to stay together, frozen in time the way they are. They get to keep each other, and only each other. Everyone else is going to grow up, grow old, and eventually move on.

It’s part of why I write them the way I do. I feel like the show didn’t do much to explore the fact that they boys’ relationship is actually completely impossible for normal people the have. They have spent such an unbelievable amount of time with the other as their best friend, roommate, sole coworker, and sole confidant.

They’re not a married couple, because married couples sleep and go to work and understand that they will eventually be parted by death. These two have a whole other situation. They have chosen to spent an eternity of sleepless nights together while the world slowly moves on without them.

So. Danny might have accidentally become a bit of a cryptid. He didn’t mean to, but he’d become a bit nocturnal- like many an Amity Parker- and it wasn’t his fault that he couldn’t be bothered to make sound when he was tired. Or pretend to breathe or, okay, he could see why he kept freaking people out at the grocery store he kept going to. 

But it wasn’t his fault! He has to get food too! And really is it anyone else’s business? Seriously he thought that people wouldn’t be so surprised with how much magic is everywhere. Like you’d think they’d never seen someone who wasn’t fully human before or something. 

Oh great, there’s a journalist at the grocery store now- he’s going to ignore that and finish his shopping and then continue his online work. Ooh, and eat icecream. He deserves it for potentially putting up with this. 

Oh, it’s a little baby reporter, first couple of article thing. Adorable.

ok enough discourse for the day. everyone quick whats your favourite MINOR buddie scene. like that one scene that is so small and unimportant it shoudln't even be a thing but that for some reason it stuck in your brain. i'll start. mine is in episode ten season four, parenthood, when the 118 is responding to a call and they're talking about the "good cop, bad cop" approach parents use with their child and chimney asks "can't you both be good cops?" and eddie and buck, hanging in the back together, simultaneously go "nooooo" and everybody turns to them. IT'S LIKE. it's the meaning behind it.... everyody in that scene realising that eddie and buck HAVE actually been using parenting techniques with chris cause they're coparenting a child. like for real and not as a joke

Vengeful Knight

When Danny moved to Gotham he didn't think that would be a problem, his rogues agreed to let him go (or at least, most of them) and it was a good opportunity to get his college degree.

Of course, you can't spend your whole life with ghosts without getting attached to them or having them getting attached to you. Although most of them had promised, Danny was well aware that not all of them were going to keep that promise.

A good example was Fright Knight, who instead of staying in the Realms decided to move in with him and provide additional "protection"; the halfa figured it made sense, since he was now "heir" or whatever, he was just setting him back a few years.

Fright Knight took his job very seriously, mostly hiding in Danny's shadow and keeping watch. That was fine until the halfa got caught in a rogue attack in Gotham and inevitably, Frighty decided to do his job and press a sword down their throats.

Danny escaped from there soon after, but this trend continued to happen (rogues, muggers, even cops, anything "dangerous" ended up with a sword around his neck).

When he read in the Gotham newspaper about the "spirit of a knight" and "Gotham's recent problem with nightmares" he knew he had to do something about it. He was almost certain that people were going to consider him a vigilante or worse, a bat.

Besides, the nightmare dimension was getting pretty crowded and Danny didn't want to be part of the trauma of half the population in Gotham.

okay well this is actually incredibly misleading because that is, in fact, not his egg but he took credit for it anyway BUT. he does lay an actual egg at gunpoint ("that just goes ta show ya! you don't know what you're gonna do 'til ya gotta gun against yer head!") . so the point remains the same

HUNTER IN A DRESS! Inspired by @myobsessions247 drawing!

I really loved your drawing. The way you drew him ✨~s l a yi n g~✨ made me question how it would be if Woodsman Wirt wore it too, would he be as glamorous?

The answer is no, but he is indeed killing it in that dress

I feel Woodsman Wirt wouldn't be very comfortable wearing any other clothes that are not his own, if he is not wearing his usual clothes he would feel like he just lost the only physical thing that keeps him to view himself as Wirt, and if he is not Wirt, he is just a crazy maniac of the woods

So Wirt wearing a dress would mess him up badly to the point that he would force himself to view his self as a different person, because he will do anything that is imposed on him even if he hates it, that's how he started to kill in the first place.

I liked the idea so much that I couldn't resist and made some more drawings

Remember the Beast mentioned in the ask that Wirt got some muscles? Well there they are! Wirt has been training so he could do his tasks more easily, like carrying more ellewoods, cutting the ellewood quickly and easier, and becoming faster in general. He does that all for Greg's safety.

There were times that some freak came to the unknown and they thought Wirt was a girl for his long hair and even tried to flirt with him. At first Wirt would be disgusted, but at one point he was so lonely that he tried to disguise himself as a girl so more people would try to have a chance with him, and at least he could feel wanted by a human being, even if he chomps them after (yeah, hella mess up)

Of course, he didn't know how to flirt before the unknown, less he knows now, and is worse when he is actually in a very unstable state of mind.

Anyways! I hope you guys liked it!

Portal Safety

The Fenton family had cameras set up in the lab to monitor if something happened. The only reason Jack and Maddie didn't know what happened to Danny was because Tucker wiped the camera footage and saved it to a flash drive that required a passcode to access.

Danny wanted to remind Jimmy about proper lab safety and decided to use the footage from the accident. Jimmy is traumatized.
