It’s movie night for the Hawkins' party and, if the kids ever settle down, they might actually be able to hear the goddamn trailers playing before Night of the Creeps starts.

Steve’s getting the snacks from his kitchen with Argyle and Nancy helping, while Eddie is about to add an extra Coke can to the two he's currently juggling on the couch next to Robin. The condensation makes the aluminium sweaty and hard to grab, which Eddie says is the best part, but all Robin can think of is the hissy fit Steve will throw if Eddie drops one and it explodes.

She nudges Eddie with a sharp elbow, timing it so he drops only one and onto the soft cushions they sit on. It bounces and Eddie hurriedly grabs the red can before it falls to the floor, belatedly remembering Steve's threat the last time Eddie had made a mess.

“I dare you to kiss the next person who walks in through the door.”

Eddie scoffs, looking around at the room full of young teens that he’s not going anywhere near. “No, thank you, John Walsh.”

“From the kitchen,” Robin wheedles, bored and hoping for something interesting to happen.

Eddie sneers, “What am I? Some brainless jock, tripping over himself to conform with the rest of the flock. You kiss whoever walks in the door next.”

Suddenly, Steve swaggers into the living room with a bowl full of popcorn at his hip, calling out in what Eddie thinks of as his ‘dad’ voice, "Time to rock and roll.” He throws a kernel into the air and snaps it up with gleaming white teeth.

Eddie sighs quietly to Robin, “I’m throwing in the towel, Buckley.”

She snorts in amusement.

“Steve," Eddie calls with resignation warring over his excitement, "get your ass over here; we’ve got a game to win.”

Steve perks up and Eddie suddenly understands that he's the true winner, about to hold the golden crown and, even better, probably about to grab the golden ass.

Meanwhile, Robin snickers into the background, waiting for the moment that she can grandly tell the two dinguses she told them so. They'll grumble and they'll deny, but Steve and Eddie will ever be grateful for the interferance of Robin T. Buckley, platonic soulmate and goddamn miracle worker of Hawkins.

I think that unlike when they split in the Divine Dark Reflections arc, they might try to stay in bigger groups, and I think Time would probably want to have as many close to him as possible (his group have three or four), but I uhh didn't know how to incorporate that.

It's silly, but right now I can't stop imagining a scene where they reach the central room and everyone sprints off into the groups they want before time can argue.

Anyone who goes with legend will survive physically and anyone who goes with four will survive mentally.

Detective Noir AU

Alright, this au has been sitting around, waiting for me to finish it but chances are, I never will :((

So instead, I'll just post what I have so far

This was inspired by that one comment on the au post the author made(at this point you could consider me a stalker for the amount of hours I've scrolled through her feed💀)

First things first, none other than our main character himself, Detective Hollow!

I made him the detective in this one mainly because I was basing it off of the theory that if there was no heroine the keyholder would simply become the hero instead(don't remember where I read this but I'm guessing it was the webtoon comment section).

I also my have just really wanted to draw him in an overcoat

gonna be honest, I did little to no research going into this AU, the thing I most tried to learn about was the femme fatale so I could get a good view on how to design Buddy

Speaking of the femme fatale:

And before you ask, yes, those are pants. Weird ones, but pants nonetheless. I swear, I hate lighting when it's from the front. Frontal lighting can go fuck itself. Please ignore the little help lines I put in

Honestly, Buddy's outfit was probably the hardest part of this one. I wanted him to look slutty, but I didn't want to make it TOO slutty, but I feel like I may have added WAYY too many folds in his pantsuit and I kinda messed up on the overcoat lol. The diamond on his chest was inspired by the diamond on the villainess key more than anything and I tried to incorporate that into his gloves too.

Anyway, have some potential outfit sketches I made:

As you can see the diamond chest window and fur coat were a mut in this outfit and I'm pretty happy with the end result

Remember how I said that I made Chase the hero because of the lack of a heroine in the story? Well...

I did some more surface level research(and I mean very surface level) and decided to adapt the trope of the girl-next-door archetype for him!!

Don't think it suits him, since they usually just sit pretty and wait for the detective to notice them, but they do have badass roles once in a while and I live for those!!!

The one Chase has taken on doesn't though sadly :')

I decided to go with Charlie Hollow for this one because it sounded more like something the timid and 'pure'(yuck I know, but sadly film noir movies often prop up comparisons between the femme fatale and the girl-next-door, this being one of them) girl next door would have

Overall I tried to make this one as cutesy as possible because, why not lol

Lastly(I apologise, I made this in a rush because I was running out of motivation)

The distance between Buddy and the detective sure did close QUICK-

Originally I was planning on adding Deacon as a police officer and now that I think about it I could technically fit Prunella in here as well, but I just don't have any willpower left to keep this thing alive

My art blocks been acting up recently and I can't even pick up the pencil without immediately wanting to put it down :((

I wish I could have continued this and maybe I will someday, but until then this'll just stay in my drafts

Where are you Damian?

A sigh slips from his lips as he stares over the edge of the building he was on. At this point he had begun to regret his choices in trying bond with his family. He wasn't even sure that anyone besides his father would come looking for him willingly and that made his heart clench painfully in his chest.

Weak.

He shouldn't have opened himself up to them, should have kept them at a distance so that when they finally got fed up with him it wouldn't hurt so much.

He wants to get angry, needs to get angry, but can't.

The cold wind flows right through him as he sits on that lonely rooftop in the dead of night. His cheeks felt so much colder than the rest of his body so he brings a shaking hand up to his cheek and wipes it away.

Why am I crying? I shouldn't be crying.

So fucking pathetic. How are you supposed to be an heir if you let your childish feelings take over your every move.

He shouldn't be crying right now. He should be angry, should be strong enough not to break when those fuckers got upset with him. Should be able to keep his composure like he had been raised to but he just can't. Damian can't stop the tears that roll down his cheeks, it frustrates him that he simply can't bring himself to try and stop them.

He sniffles softly unable to let himself wallow in the feelings he doesn't want to feel. The shame, disappointment, and sadness makes him want to vomit.

"Damian?" A voice startles Damian out of his little depressed so fest he found himself. He hadn't even heard him come up to him.

Such stupidity would get you killed, letting your guard down.

Shut up.

Letting such pathetic emotions take over when you could have shoved them aside like you were taught-

Just shut up!

Letting this so called family get close to you so they could use you for their sick deeds-

"SHUT UP!" Damian shouts clutching his head trying to get rid of the venomous words out of his head.

"Damian are you okay?" A gentle hand rests on his shoulder making him flinch and resort to throwing who had touched him away.

"It's okay Damian breathe. Follow my breathing okay?" Follow his breathing?

What was his father doing here? He could hear his heartbeat against his ear... Or maybe it was his own. Damian couldn't tell anymore. Everything was just so... Loud.

Damian isn't sure how much time has passed but he felt a little better, more like himself as it could get even if he did feel utterly off. "Damian?" His father asks still holding Damian close blocking his view of whoever else was there with them with his large frame. He feels so tired and makes a hum of acknowledgement.

"I'm going to take you home now okay?" His father spoke his voice calm and gentle, it was strange. He had never heard him like this.

"Okay." Damian could handle this. He could handle going home. He just wants to sleep.

On Air - Introduction

On Air! (オンエア！) was a joseimuke mobile game about aspiring voice actors released by Coly, aka the developers of Mahoyaku/Promise of Wizard, Stand My Heroes and Break My Case. It was active from 2018-2020, and EOSed not long after its second anniversary. Ever since it released, On Air has been one of my favourite games of all time, and with the Switch port being released I want to try and renew some interest in it! (Do I recommend buying the Switch port? No we archived all the stories before the original game shut down so you should not pay money unless you're crazy like me. Do I think you should read the stories for free and love the characters? Yes!)

In On Air, you play as Amane Hikari, an honours student at Hoseki Gaoka (usually translated as Jewellery Hill School). There are 29 students and 1 teacher whose cards you can collect, divided into 6 units. The game has a jewel motif: as well as the school's name, each character has their own representative jewel. In accordance with it being a seiyuu-themed game, almost every part of OA was fully voiced. Every story, every mini interaction. You know how games like Bandori have those mini character interactions on the map? OA has 1578 of those, and every single one is voiced. They were kind of crazy for that.

OA had really charming characters and art - there's a reason part of the fandom is still around 4 years after EOS! The crowdfunding for the Switch port raised 10x the initial goal. That is how much people wanted this game back. Other than that it also had the funniest guy ever created: Aoyagi Mikado. I would like everybody to know about him.

I'm going to be using this blog to translate a whole bunch of things for the game - it's unlikely we'll ever see a sequel to the game or anything, but maybe if Western interest keeps up it'll randomly get an official English release months down the line like Ichu did?
