11 J and Carmy because I love the fluffy stuff.
I've written something rather romantic for you, the title can't be anything else than:

December 1st (Prompts from my seasonal prompt list: "Thank you for spending time with me today" & "First kiss") Carmen x gn!Reader 2000 words
âGood morning,â Carmen Berzatto greets you with a tentative smile, his breath clouding in the frosty morning air.
Your heart jumps, like every time Carmen comes, instead of Tina, to pick up the fresh dairy products.
âHello,â you wave from the open door, the sun shining into your eyes, unable to stop yourself from smiling back. âCome on in,â you beckon him as you see his red nose and cheeks, holding the heavy metal door open to let him inside the storage room.
Carmen steps inside, shoulders tense against the chill. He rubs his hands together briskly, the friction sending little clouds of warmth into the air. âColder than I thought itâd be,â he mutters, glancing around at the neatly stacked crates of milk and cream, along with various types of cheese.
You grab a clipboard from the hook near the door and pretend to study the inventory, but youâre acutely aware of every move he makesâthe way he shifts his weight from one foot to the other, the subtle dip of his head as he surveys the shelves.
âYou get used to it,â you reply, even though the truth is, youâve never really adjusted to the cold. Itâs just something you tolerate.
âDo you wanna take something extra?â you ask, and as you look up, you find Carmen already watching you. His eyes quickly dart away. He looks skinnier than the last time you saw him, his cheekbones protruding.
Carmen does want to take something extra, and he asks you a surprisingly huge amount of questions regarding butter and mature cheddar and Swiss cheese from Stockton. Usually, Carmy barely speaks â he quickly loads the crates and is off. Not today.
âSwiss, huh?â you prompt, watching him as he shoves his hands into his coat pockets. âYou planning a fondue night, Chef?â
Carmy huffs a laugh through his nose and shakes his head. âNo, just⌠experimenting. Trying to see what works with, uh, some new ideas.â His explanation comes out fast, like heâs rehearsed it, but the way he avoids your gaze makes you think thereâs more to it than that.
You glance over at the neatly wrapped blocks of Swiss cheese, then back at him. âAlright. But you usually know exactly what you want. Todayâs⌠different.â
That gets his attention. His eyes snap back to yours, wide for a moment before narrowing like heâs trying to read what you mean. âDifferent how?â
âDunno,â you shrug, though you absolutely do. âJust⌠youâre asking a lot of questions. Usually, itâs just a quick âheyâ and âthanks.ââ You keep your tone light, playful, but thereâs a part of you that wants to ask why he looks so worn down, why his usual confidence feels frayed at the edges.
Carmen glances at the crates and lets out a breath, his shoulders sagging slightly. âYeah. Sorry, Iâmâuhââ He pauses, scrubbing a hand down his face. âItâs ... the first of December.â
âItâs the first of December,â you repeat slowly after him. Surely, there must be more to it than just the beginning of a new month.
Carmy looks immediately regretful, his boots shuffling on the concrete floor. âFamily trauma,â he explains plainly. âChristmas. It always seems like once itâs December, I canât avoid it any longer.â
âOh.â For a moment, you donât know what to say. Carmen doesnât look at you, his eyes fixed on the floor like heâs bracing himself for judgmentâor maybe just for silence.
He huffs a bitter laugh, the kind that doesnât reach his eyes. âYeah. Sorry. Didnât mean to dump that on you.â He shifts his weight, his hands digging deeper into his coat pockets. âItâs not your problem.â
âMaybe not,â you say quietly, watching the way his shoulders curl inward, like heâs trying to make himself smaller. âBut that doesnât mean I donât care.â
You lean back against the shelf, crossing your arms to ward off the cold. âSo⌠Swiss cheese, huh?â you say, trying to steer the conversation back to safer ground.
Carmen blinks, the corners of his mouth twitching like heâs trying to decide whether to let you change the subject. Finally, he gives a small nod. âYeah. Swiss cheese.â
You add the extra products to another crate, noting them on your list. Carmy pays, and you put the money into the cash box, then help him with the lighter crates into his car. Well, itâs Richieâs car; you already know that. Tina uses it too. Carmen shyly asks you to come along, explaining that they want to give you Bear Christmas Cookies, just as they do for all their suppliers. He shivers when saying âChristmas,â but you agree, quite happily, and get in the passenger seat. The car is cold too; the heating clearly doesnât work. You intentionally donât look around too much, just in case you spot something exceptionally gross in the clutter.
âIâm sorry for the state of the car. Itâs Richieâs,â he adds quickly. âThe only available car at the moment,â he winces.
âItâs fine,â you smile at him.
The two of you lapse into a comfortable silence for a moment, the hum of the carâs engine filling the space between you. The city streets blur past outside, with festive lights strung across lampposts and storefronts, their warm glow a sharp contrast to the December chill.
At the restaurant, you help Carmen get the products to the walk-in fridge. The kitchen is empty, being Monday morning, and gives off a completely different vibeâa bit sad, maybe. It makes you wonder if thatâs one of the reasons Carmyâs been stalling so much today.
When you bring in the last crate, setting it on the metallic counter with a clang, Carmenâs there with a round, dark blue tin. As he hands it to you, your fingertips touch, fueling your well-nourished crush, and you canât help but want more of him.
âThank you,â you say, studying the Bear logo on the lid. âIâll make sure to share it with the rest of the team,â you tell him. âEven though I donât want to.â
That makes Carmen bark out a laugh, one that sounds genuine for once.
As thereâs nothing else to do, the moment starts to stretch awkwardly.
âYou know, maybe itâs not my place to say thisââ you start bravely, âbut I think a cup of coffee or tea would cheer you up.â
Carmenâs brows lift slightly, his lips parting like heâs about to respond, but he hesitates, caught off guard. âYeah?â He looks down at the tin still in your hands, then back up at you.
You shift your weight, feeling the sudden urge to backpedal, but youâve come this far. âYeah,â you say, steadier now. âI mean, itâs cold as hell, itâs Monday, and you look like you could use⌠I donât know. A minute to just breathe.â
Carmen huffs a small laugh, though itâs quieter this time. âIs it that obvious?â
You tilt your head, giving him a playful look. âLetâs just say youâre not exactly radiating holiday cheer.â
Carmen snorts and then says, decidedly, âOkay.â
Itâs not a surprise to find out that the chef doesnât know any nearby places that specialize in beverages, so you lead the way to the first decent-looking coffee house one street over. You order an almond milk latte, while he has chamomile tea, and then pays for both of you without hesitation.
The two of you lapse into a hesitant talk at a corner table with two armchairs, the hum of conversation and the clinking of cups filling the space around you. Outside, the festive lights strung across the street sway gently in the breeze, their glow reflecting on the window.
As much as your heart is ready to give out, with your fingers tapping nervously against the ceramic mug, a careful conversation develops. You talk about your job at the Home Produce shop, sharing gossip about all the other restaurants and chefs that buy from you.
When Carmen does speak, you canât help but sneak glances at his tattooed hands, the ones you canât get out of your head. Unfortunately, youâre pretty sure Carmen catches you on one or two occasions but doesnât say anything.
The conversation moves on to other topics, like favorite dishes, shared horror stories about difficult customers, and even the occasional joke. Youâre pleased to see Carmy relaxing, taking off his quilted coat. Meanwhile, youâre wearing only your thick woolen jumper and a long red scarf, the coffee adding a very pleasant warmth to the mix.
Things take a turn when Carmen starts sharing half-explained stories about his family and the Seven Fishes tradition: festive cooking, car crashes, divorces, moving to New Yorkâall without mentioning Christmas once.
You listen carefully, letting Carmy know youâre there, willing to help him carry a bit of the burden.
âEverything was always⌠too much,â he says, his gaze fixed on his tea, now lukewarm. âLoud. Messy. No one ever sat still long enough to actually⌠enjoy it, you know?â
You nod, watching him carefully, letting the words settle in the air. âAnd New York?â you prompt gently, sensing that he needs a nudge.
He huffs a quiet laugh, shaking his head. âI thought it would be different. It wasnât. Just⌠louder. More people, more pressure. The only time I really liked Christmas was when I was on shift. Cooking. It was the only time I could control anything.â
Your heart aches at the vulnerability in his voice, the way he talks about control like itâs both a lifeline and a curse.
âYouâre good at it, though,â you say softly. âThe cooking, I mean.â
Carmen fidgets with his sleeve, his fingers brushing against the edge of the table, and you realize heâs looking at youânot quite directly, but close enough that your pulse quickens.
âYouâre easy to talk to,â he says suddenly, like the thought just slipped out.
You blink, caught off guard. âOh. Well, uhâthank you.â Your nervous laugh fills the space as you grip your mug a little tighter.
You feel like youâre dancing around each other a little, trying to figure out where you stand or if thereâs any affection coming from the other person. Itâs exhilarating and a bit terrifying at the same time. You really want Carmen to like you, and you have nothing else to offer but honesty and openness.
Itâs almost 1 p.m. when you get up, your stomach rumbling, murmuring something about having to get back to work. Carmen offers to drive you back, which you accept gladly. As soon as you both get into the car, you canât help but shiver from the cold outsideâand inside, as well.
âOh, here you go,â Carmen shrugs off his warm jacket and drapes it over your arms before he starts the engine. The gesture takes you by surprise, and you blush furiously into your sweaterâs neck.
When he parks and shuts off the engine, the sudden quiet feels almost intimate. He turns to you, his expression softer than youâve ever seen it. âThanks for spending time with me today,â he says, his voice sincere. âYou didnât have to.â
âI know I didnât have to,â you cut in, a little sharper than you mean to, but his self-deprecation stirs something protective in you. âBut I wanted to. Because itâs you.â
The words hang there, and for a second, you wonder if youâve said too much. His eyes search yours, and you can tell heâs caught off guard, maybe even a little unsure what to do with the kindness.
âIâm not great at this,â he finally says, his voice low, like itâs a confession. âTalking about⌠stuff.â
âClearly,â you tease, trying to lighten the mood, though your smile is gentle. âBut you donât have to talk, you know. Not if you donât want to.â
He exhales slowly, his breath curling in the frosty air like smoke. Youâre unsure if heâs about to speak, but then he does something else entirely. He leans in and presses a soft kiss to your lips, plain and sweet. Instantly, it ignites a fire inside of you, the flames making your cheeks burn despite the cold.
For a moment, the world narrows to just that touchâfleeting, but enough to send your heart racing. When he pulls back, Carmen looks almost as surprised as you feel, his cheeks flushed, eyes wide like heâs already second-guessing himself.
âSorry,â he mutters, voice barely above a whisper. âIâI shouldnât haveââ
âDonât,â you interrupt, your voice steady even though your pulse is anything but. âDonât apologize.â
His eyes dart to yours, searching, as if heâs trying to figure out if you mean it.
âI⌠Iâve been wanting to do that,â he admits, his voice rough and hesitant, like the words are being pulled out of him against his better judgment.
You bite your lip to keep from grinning too wide. âMe too,â you confess.

â âTry to eat.â
poly!marauders x reader
summary: you feel sick because you havenât eaten in a bit. your boyfriends take perfect care of you.
tw: nausea, implied ed recovery, just a whole lot of hurt/comfort, our boys are angels fr <3
âSweetheart,â Sirius coos worriedly as soon as heâs within sight, clearly tipsy as he stumbles towards you and Remus. James follows close behind, one hand on his boyfriendâs back and a pinch between his eyebrows.
Youâre crouched on the cold floor of the bathroom, Remus right beside you with his hand on the small of your back. Everything looked like nothing but blurry dots, fading in and out of your vision. You can faintly make out the silhouette of one of your boyfriends flushing your sick down the toilet.
Mary and Lily were throwing a Christmas party at their new place. You and your boyfriends had been here for a couple of hours, Sirius going straight to the food table while James was immediately dragged away by a couple of old pals from the team back in school.
You could see Marlene beckoning to you across the room from the corner of your eye, but opted to stay next to Remus instead. It wasnât that you didnât want to spend time with your friends, you really did miss them. You just felt really, really sick. It had started as a quiet upheaval in your stomach on the way here, but then started to feel like a full-on tornado. It was as though someone was slamming a hammer against your temple, the metallic taste of bile quickly rising up your throat.
You knew you probably looked worse than you felt. Your hair clinged to the sweat on your forehead, breaths coming out in small, painful huffs. Even your makeup felt smudged, mascara mixing with the perspiration and further adding to the irritation on your skin. It was obvious that Remus had noticed. He asked you if you were okay a couple of times, and you waved him off. His instincts told him to stay right next to you. He was glad he did, because less than a half hour later, you had your hands pressed tightly over your mouth as you gagged, wide-eyed and panicked.
Now you were sat pathetically on the marble tiles of the bathroom, tear-streaked cheeks and burning throat. Sensing your need for space, Remus had resorted to rubbing his thumb over the curve of your ankle while you leaned against the wall opposite. He had quickly texted James about the situation, who gathered up Sirius, in all his inebriated glory, before rushing into the bathroom.
You feel a hand wrapping around the nape of your neck, some things cold and metallic, though not unpleasant, digging into your skin. Siriusâ rings. The same sensation hits you someplace on your hips as youâre steered into another personâs arms. Your back falls snug onto a hard wall of a chest, gentle arms wrapping around your waist.
âBaby? Can you hear me?â Jamesâ voice is soft near the shell of your ear, hands loving where they rub the fat of your stomach. You blink a couple times, vision still hazy but clear enough to pick up on your surroundings. The buzzing in your ears seemed to quieten at your boyfriendâs murmured words.
Your voice comes out as a quiet croak. âYeah.â
Remusâ hand stills on your ankle, knowing youâd feel overstimulated by the sensation of two people touching your skin in different places. Itâs no matter, though, because Sirius is quick to take your hands in his and squeeze them. He looks dangerously close to tears from where heâs kneeling in front of you.
âAre you okay? Do you feel better?â
You clear your throat, trying to muster a weak smile for his sake. âI ââ
âWhat happened? Why did you feel sick? Did you ââ
âSiri,â Remus is quick to take initiative, wrapping his arm around Siriusâ shoulder and gently pulling his boyfriend against him. âRelax. Sheâs okay,â he murmurs, unclear whether heâs trying to reassure Sirius or himself.
The long-haired boy frowns, but doesnât say much else. Satisfied, Remus turns his attention back to you, eyebrows bunching up concernedly. âDo you feel better, lovely?â
You nod, and itâs a little more convincing than the smile you just tried to flash them. You feel yourself sinking more and more into Jamesâ embrace, the feeling of his thumbs on your stomach distracting you from the searing pain in your gut.
James and Remus share a look. âDove,â Remus starts softly. You meet his gaze curiously. He reaches out to wipe the tears off of your cheeks, palm settling on the dip of your chin. âYou havenât been eating enough.â
You sigh exasperatedly, opening your mouth to brush it off like you always do. But youâre cut off by James, tone slightly harsh though his touch remains gentle. âHeâs right, angel. Youâve been skipping meals these past few weeks.â
âYeah, and⌠and when you do eat,â Sirius pipes up, eyes narrowing like itâs taking him tons of effort to form a coherent sentence. It probably was, given the alcohol in his system. âYou barely touch your food. You nibble on it, like⌠like um, a mouse.â
âGuys,â you speak up, feeling their eyes trained on you. Your breathing starts to pick up speed, and you try to ignore the anxiety slushing around in the pit of your stomach. âIâm fine, okay? I eat enough, and I didnât puke because of that ââ
âThatâs bullshit and you know it,â James murmurs from behind you. You expect a telling off, maybe even a fight â but thereâs nothing but sadness and worry in his voice.
You swallow, feeling your eyes start to sting again. âIâm not doing it on purpose, I swear. Iâm trying,â your voice turns shaky as you lock eyes with Remus. He softens, moving forward slightly to take one of your hands in both of his. âWe know you are, sweet girl. Itâs not your fault.â
âYeah,â James adds quietly, dotting a kiss into your hair. âYou were doing so well. You still are. Just let us help you, okay?â
You nod, and almost donât notice Sirius clumsily pulling himself up and staggering out the bathroom. Remus frowns, turning around and calling out to him, only to receive silence in response. He sighs and turns back to you, continuing to thumb at your palm comfortingly.
The three of you sit in comfortable silence for a bit, the only sound being that of soft kisses as James presses his lips to different parts of your cheek. His hands move sideways from your stomach, coming to rest against the curve of your hips. He feels the empty space between your skin and jeans â jeans which fit you snugly just a month ago. He says nothing, but you feel the disappointment radiating off him and seeping into your skin.
Thatâs when Sirius bursts in through the door, causing all three of you to glance up startledly. He marches towards you with a hint of determination in his eyes, sitting back down in front of you. He takes one look at you, and everything hard about his expression melts into softness.
âHere,â he mumbles, holding a muffin out to you like a child would. âTry to eat.â
You donât miss the hint of adoration in Remusâ gaze as he smiles at his boyfriend, then at you encouragingly. âGo on,â James says softly, hands resuming their movement on your stomach.
Letting out a shaky exhale, you reach forward and take the muffin with a quiet murmur of thanks. You swallow and stare at the muffin. It glares back with hostility.
Sirius starts to babble, like he always does when he doesnât know what else to do. Only this time, he knew exactly what he was doing. He tells you about this weird girl at work who tried to flirt with him.
Between the animated storytelling, Remusâ soft smiles and Jamesâ touches, you find yourself quietly biting into the muffin. You still didnât feel like you deserved to eat. But you did feel safe. And you wanted to try, for them.
You even let out a laugh when Sirius mentioned the girlâs disgust at finding out about you guys, making him grin. It takes a while, but you finish the muffin. Your boyfriends tell you just how proud they are. You believe them.

Injury! -- Joe Burrow
Summary: Joe was away for a game and you couldn't go as he was gone you got hurt. You was freaking out but also worry to tell Joe as he at a game.
Word Count: 744
Slightly injury you, head injury, little blood , just Joe worry and fluffy
----------
Joe was at an away game and You had gone to a store to buy some decorations for their apartment. You just came back and set the bags on the table. You knew it was smart to wait for Joe to come home but You didn't want to wait another whole day for him to return. You start taking all the things you got and lay it out on the table. It was a little early to start putting Christmas things out but You couldn't help yourself.
You went to the garage to look for some nails and Joeâs hammer he kept here. Soon You find the hammer and nails and go back to the kitchen. You grab the Christmas Gnome and walk to the living room to put the nail in the wall and hang them up. Soon you walk back in the kitchen and grab the christmas garland and you glaze at the cabinet. âI should wait for him.â You told yourself but you being stubborn You don't listen.
You take your shoes off and only have socks on and climb on the counter and stand up on it. You look down. âNot too high I should be fine.â You said to yourself. You start putting the nail in the wall and grab the garland. You get on your tiptoes to hook the garland on the nail. When your foot slips off and you crash onto the floor head hitting the edge of the counter. You lightly groan, touch your head feeling wetness on your hand.
You start looking around feeling dizzy, slowly grab the counter to help you stand up. You grabbed a rag and got it wet with cold water. Press it on your head. You stay leaning on the counter with the rag on your head when your phone rings. You slowly dig it out your pocket seeing it was Jeo who was calling. âI swear he has super power and calls at the wrong time.â You softled said as you answered it.
You hear his voice didn't sound cheerful, must have had a bad game. âAfter that game I need your voice.â You swallow. He started to explain what happened but it was making your head hurt more so you cut him off. âI did something stupid.â It got quiet on his end. Soon he says âWhat you did Y/Nâ You look up at the half hanging garland. âMight try to hang some garland in the kitchen and slip and hit my head.â You talk slowly.Â
It got quiet again but you can hear he was getting up from the hotel bed. You hear him picking things up. Maybe his bag. âJoe?â Joe signs. âDidn't I tell you if you wanna hang something make sure I was home. So I can help so we can skip the whole injury park Y/N. Look, I'm on my way home. Clearly your stubborn ass doesn't understand when I talk. You're gonna listen now. Forget the damn garland and lay down just not flat.i be there in an hour or so.â You nodded even if he canât see it. He hung up after.
This is why you hated that he called right after you fell. Were you gonna tell him no, maybe tomorrow when he was home. But that was so out of the bag. You knew it was better to listen to him and go lay down. You slowly walk to the couch and lay down on it. The rag lay on your head.
About an hour or two you hear the front getting unlocked and open. You hear his footsteps walk in. He puts his bag down and he walks over kneeling by the couch. He moved the rag. âHey there, stubborn girl that I love.â You just groan and sit up. He helps you sit up, putting his hand on your back. âHow your head darlingâ He asks as you lean your head on his shoulder. âDizzy stops and the pain is not too bad.â Joe kisses your head lightly. âMaybe you learn your lesson and let me do the hanging when it comes to Christmas. Rather not have my girlfriend hurt over Christmas crap.â His arm wraps around you as you mumbles âgood idea.â you snuggle against his body. And he gives you another kiss on your head. Getting hurt might have been a good thing, one Joe came home early and second the cuddles.

Green Oak existing as loudly as possible in every breath he takes and every step he makes because nothings heâs ever done or will ever do will get him the attention and validation of the first person he needed attention and validation from but it hasnât really clicked yet that Samuel Oak doesnât like him or even the idea of him. It wonât click at ten when he wins and then loses the Indigo League Championship.
It wonât click at twenty when heâs a high-profile gym leader going from a Tournament in Unova to an academic and battle scholarship in Kalos. It wonât click at thirty when the trips to Alola with Red are becoming a yearly tradition and the pair of them are becoming a seasonal tag-team special at Mali Cityâs Kanto-style gym. It wonât click when he meets and meets again and meets once more Samson Oak who is just so much warmer and kinder. It wonât click at forty when heâs standing in a black suit, Daisy beside him, before a headshot of his grandfather and feeling all these complex emotions that no one could really understand.
It likely wonât click at until long after Oak has passed, and Green finds himself trying to be everything to his and Redâs kids and grandkids that Samuel Oak wasnât to him.
Would Green ever be able to find peace within himself when it finally clicks for him? Who knows.

For @tyferbebe who requested "You know you didn't have to get me anything" & Touch starved from my Winter prompts list <3 I changed the sentence a little bit

Not Monday Carmen Berzatto x Fem!Reader Rated E (oral sex) 2170 words
You have a massive, ginormous crush on your neighbour, Carmen Berzatto. You find him extremely good-lookingâeven though he might not be the typical hot guy typeâand the fact that heâs a successful chef takes things to an even higher level. The fact that heâs been capable of running some of the best restaurants in the world definitely impresses you, and, frankly, turns you on in all sorts of ways.
Hi, are you at home?
Mind if I pop in for a sec?
The two messages from Carmy show up on the screen of your phone, and you simultaneously panic and get excited. Youâve just returned from the Christmas family visit late last night, and now youâre in the middle of unpacking, sorting out dirty laundry, and eating leftovers. The urge to put on at least a bit of makeup and change out of your old sweatpants is strong, but on the other hand, youâre worried that Carmenâs plan might change if you donât respond immediately.
Sure, come over!
The next second, you hear the door opposite yours open and shut, followed by a quick rap on your entrance door. When you open it, youâre still clutching your phone in one hand.
âWow, youâre quick,â you blurt out with a laugh. Carmy smiles back, his dimples appearing, and your heart swells. Your eyes quickly roam over his form and face, hoping that he wonât notice your obvious gluttonous interest.
âIâm returning the screwdriver,â Carmen says, handing you the tool he borrowed at the beginning of December.
âOh, thank you.â This has become a game you two play. Not so innocent on your side, as you would often come up with silly reasons, but hopefully convincing ones, to either visit Carmy or invite him over to your placeâto borrow a cup of flour, ask him to change a bulb, or help you move the sofa. On the other hand, Carmenâs been over to yours for small favors like shirt ironing, sewing a button on his chef whites, or suggestions for Natalieâs birthday present.
âSorry about the mess,â you say quickly, clutching the screwdriver like itâs a precious artifact. âI just got back last night and havenât really⌠sorted everything out yet.â
Carmen shrugs, a little smile playing at his lips. âLooks fine to me.â His eyes linger for a moment on the half-open suitcase spilling clothes onto the floor before they return to you. Thereâs something about the way he looks at youâlike heâs caught between being bashful and wanting to stay longer.
âSo, uh, how was your trip?â he asks, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jeans. You know that despite The Bear being closed for the Christmas holidays, Carmen was probably busy coming up with new dishes and similar things. No rest for the wicked.
Youâre a little surprised by the questionâhe doesnât usually linger after these quick exchanges. âGood. A little chaotic, but thatâs family for you.â Carmen knows about your mother and three siblingsâeach of you with a different fatherâand how intense she gets.
Carmen chuckles, the sound low and warm, and you wonder if itâs possible to bottle it. Youâd play it on repeat whenever you needed cheering up. âI can imagine.â
âOhâwait! Iâve got something for you,â you suddenly remember and reach into your suitcase to fish out a small package adorned with a green ribbon.
Carmenâs eyes widen, flicking between you and the package as you hand it to him. âItâs Belgian chocolate. Milk with roasted almonds and sea salt,â you quickly explain. âOne of my older brotherâs father is Belgian. He always sends a lot of chocolates. I think he doesnât remember how old we are anymore,â you shrug. âThis is my favorite.â
Carmenâs face softens as he looks at the package in your hand, and he hesitates for just a moment before taking it. His fingers brush yours, and you donât miss the way he notices it tooâhis eyes darting to yours for a fraction of a second.
âYou didnât have to do that,â he says, his voice quieter, almost shy. âItâs nothing,â you reply, brushing it off. âI mean, youâve helped me out so many times. And besidesâŚâ You trail off, shrugging again as you feel a little self-conscious. âI thought you might like it.â
Carmen studies the package for a moment before meeting your eyes again. Thereâs something so earnest about the way he looks at you, it makes your chest ache in the best way.
âThanksâŚUhmâI didnât get you anything.â
You wave your hand dismissively, shaking your head as you try to mask the pang of disappointment you feel, even though you honestly hadnât expected a present from Carmy. âDonât be silly. Itâs not like that.â
Carmenâs shoulders relax slightly, though his brows remain knitted together like heâs still mulling it over. âStill⌠I feel bad now,â he mutters.
âYou really donât have to,â you insist, a small laugh escaping you. âI mean, unless you wanna give me the New Yearâs kiss I didnât get.â
When you blurt out the last sentence, your eyes widen as you realize what you just said. You quickly laugh again, only this time it sounds a bit forced. âI guess I take that from my momâfinding the right guy who would stick around is not my strength,â you ramble on uncomfortably, trying your best to get out of the situation with as much dignity as possible.
Carmen looks genuinely caught off guard, like heâs not sure if youâre joking or not. You can feel the heat rising in your cheeks, spreading all the way to your ears. âYou serious, orâŚ?â
Your heart skipsâno, jumpsâat his words. The laugh that escapes you now is soft, nervous, and entirely unplanned. âI mean⌠maybe?â you reply, your voice barely above a whisper.
Carmenâs eyes flicker to yours as he steps just a little closer, the tension between you so thick you can almost touch it. âYou tell me,â he says conspiratorially, his voice even softer now.
You donât even realize youâre holding your breath until he leans in, his movements careful, like heâs giving you all the time in the world to pull away. But you donât. Instead, you tilt your head, your lips brushing his just barely, soft and tentative.
Itâs you who leans back first, afraid of him ending the kiss. Only now do you realize youâre wearing old sweatpants and a stretched-out t-shirt, your face completely makeup-free. Carmenâs seen you at The Bear, when you went there for dinner with a friendâall dressed up in fancy clothes and carefully styled hair. âIâm a mess,â you state, still vibrating from the little kiss.
âYou always look pretty,â Carmy says quietly with a small smile, sounding genuine. You want nothing more than to kiss him some more, so you ask: âWas that just a one-timeââ but before you have a chance to finish your question, or even your thought, Carmyâs lips are on yours again, and your brain short-circuits.
Your bed is hiding behind an old antique paravent you bought in Boston when you first moved here. The bed itself is large, just how you like it, with a solid wood-carved headboard. Thatâs where you end up together.
The touch of your tongue against Carmâs is intoxicating; the taste of his kiss is absolutely addictive. You moan into the kiss needily, the sound catching in the back of your throat, and blush furiously at your own reaction.
Despite how much you hate admitting it, itâs been years since you kissed someone like thisâsince a guy has touched you like Carmen is now. His hands roam up and down your sides under your jumper, squeezing the meat of your thighs, enveloping you heavily, wholly.
Carmyâs solid weight above you is grounding and electrifying all at once. Your hands find their way under his hoodie, fingers brushing against his warm skin, the wiry strength of muscle a reminder of how physical his life is. He lets out a quiet, almost shy groan when your nails graze his back, and you feel the sound in your chest as much as you hear it.
âIs this okay?â he asks between kisses, his voice husky, his breath warm against your neck. The care in his tone makes your stomach flip. âYes,â you whisper, arching into him.
That seems to give him permission, and his touch grows bolder. He pushes your shirt up, his fingers brushing against the bare skin of your waist, sending shivers up your spine. His lips trail from your mouth to your jaw, to your neck, each kiss deliberate. Youâre finding it harder and harder to keep still under his attention, your head tilting restlessly, your teeth sinking into your lip to stifle the embarrassing noises spilling from you.
When Carmen leans away and up, you almost protest. He sits back on his haunches between your spread legs, all flushed cheeks and messy hair. He looks adorable and also devastatingly hot. Before you can say anything, he swiftly takes off his t-shirt and jumper in one go, and you finally have the opportunity to admire his bare torso.
The second you want to get up to explore his torso properly with your handsâand maybe your mouthâhe stops you.
âLie back,â Carmy gently nudges you into position, and you obey willingly, watching him curiously.
Carmenâs gaze is heavy, filled with an intensity that sends a fresh wave of heat coursing through you. His chest rises and falls with uneven breaths as he studies you quietly. All you can do is watch as he reaches down for the waist of your sweatpants.
âCan IâŚâ he trails off, leaning down to kiss the sliver of bare skin peeking between the waistband and the jumper. Immediately, you nod, letting him know he has your consent. You even help him push the garment down your legs and off. His calloused fingers are warm, rough in a way that contrasts beautifully with how gently heâs touching you. You feel like youâre about to melt into the bed.
A sudden stillness forces you to open your eyes to check on Carmy. Heâs staring down, right between your legs.
âItâs not Monday,â he says, sensing your eyes on him.
âWhaat?â
He touches his thumb to your pelvis bone. âHere. It says âMonday.ââ
Confused, you look down. It takes you only about two seconds to understand that heâs referring to the word on your panties, just above a picture of daisies.
âShut up,â you nudge him with your knee, laughing.
He chuckles low, his breath fanning against your skin as he presses a kiss just below your navel. âIâm just observant,â he murmurs, his lips brushing your skin between words, sending a violent shiver up your spine with the tender contact.
âAnd for the record, theseââhe hooks a finger under the elastic, tugging gentlyââare cute as hell.â
Then, instead of taking your underwear off as you expect, he takes your hand in his and pulls it down to your crotchâa silent invitation to touch yourself. You do, feeling your heart in your throat, turned on and shy in equal measures. Carmen watches as you stroke yourself through your panties, hesitantly at first. Youâve been wet since the moment you two started kissing, the damp patch on the pale blue fabric drawing Carmyâs eyes.
He lowers himself, planting open-mouthed kisses on your inner thighs and moving higher, closer to your core. He kisses your hand too, mouthing at it with his tongue as if it were your mouthâor your pussy. You canât believe something so innocent can feel so sexual, and you let out a stream of soft moans. With every passing second, youâre closer and closer to voicing out loud that itâs time for the main act.
Carmen seems to sense itâyour need, your desperation. His gaze flickers up to your face, heavy-lidded, and he murmurs, âDonât rush. Let me take care of you.â His voice is a low rasp, full of tenderness and heat.
The way heâs looking at you sends another ripple of arousal straight through you, and your breath catches when he pulls the soaked crotch of your panties aside, kissing your pussy for the first time.
âFuck. Carmy,â you whisper, your voice shaky.
He hums against you, not letting up, giving you a hard lickâone that ends right at your sensitive clit. Your hands find his hair, threading through the soft strands as his lips and tongue explore you. You can feel his breath against your skin, the way it hitches every time you squirm or let out a sound. All the sensations are new, overwhelming, and intense in the best possible way.
Carmen doesnât stop, doesnât hesitate. His mouth is warm, deliberate, and unrelenting. The rough drag of his tongue paired with the softness of his lips makes your head spin. Each stroke feels like heâs memorizing you, mapping out what makes you gasp and moan with the precision of someone determined to get it right.

â âJust tell me!â
remus lupin x reader
summary: remus tries to surprise you for christmas, and fails
tw: fluff fluff fluff <3, remus is boyfriend material. actually remus is boyfriend.
You let out a soft groan, flopping onto your side as another thud resonates from downstairs. Your mind feels muddled with sleep. You instinctively reach for your boyfriend, arm outstretched as you pat down the mattress beside you. Thereâs nothing to your touch but empty space.
Remusâ absence adds to your sleep-addled confusion. Thereâs one more loud bang from somewhere in the house, jolting you awake. You roll onto your back, grunting as you sluggishly pull yourself up into a sitting position.
You crack your eyes open to the darkness of your room, trying to rub the sleep out of them. The blanket you were cozied up in pools at your waist, chilly air immediately stinging your skin as though it had been waiting to strike.
Metallic, clanging noises continue to reverberate off the walls. You think you hear some silent cursing too.
Sighing irritably, you drag your blanket off the bed with you, pulling it over your shoulders as you stumble out the room. The night before Christmas and you still couldnât get uninterrupted sleep â you thought Santa might have been nicer to you.
You tiptoe down the stairs, remembering the faulty heater in your living room; tug the blanket tighter around yourself. The festive green garland twined around the staircase railing looked silver-streaked, reflecting the soft light from the kitchen.
You peer around the corner, blanket trailing behind you like a cape as you inch closer towards the kitchen. You involuntarily grimace as a strong stench wafts your way. It had hints of smoke, as though barbecued. Maybe even burnt.
Youâre too drowsy to panic about the house burning down, but awake enough for your heartbeat to start picking up the pace.
Sneaking your hand out from under the cocoon of blankets, you curl your fingers around the cold metal of the knob. Youâre beaten to it by the person on the other side of the door.
Itâs the curls which you catch sight of first, followed by his lovely brown eyes peeking out â then widening, from behind the door.
âHey, sweetheart,â Remus mutters as he quickly steps out, casting backward glances as though someone in the kitchen was holding a gun to his head. âWhat are you doing up?â
He hurriedly closes it before fully turning to you, instantly softening at how endearing you looked. Sometimes, he wonders how he got so lucky, and you chide him till he admits that he deserves you. Right now, he could see how close you were to falling asleep right then and there â too close to berate him, close enough to look like an angel worth falling in love with all over again.
âI could ask you the same ââ
Remus cuts you off mid-sentence, stepping forward to cup your cheeks and kiss you. You indulge him. He smells nice, you note. Like chocolate and peppermint.
He pulls away but doesnât let go, sliding his hands around the back of your neck to rub comfortingly at the nape.
âSo,â you start again, already visibly much happier and awake, âwhy are you not in bed?â
He sighs and shrugs, trying, but failing, to look nonchalant. Something in his heart tightens as you tug the ends of your blanket closer to each other. He presses a kiss to your blanket-laden shoulder, smitten. âCouldnât sleep.â
âAnd you decided to come down to the kitchen to do⌠what, exactly?â
âOh, nothing much,â he shrugs again. âYou know, just cleaning up a little bit.â
You narrow your eyes suspiciously. âYou needed to wear an apron for that?â
âOh, um â well,â he looks down at his apron, chuckling sheepishly as he looks back up at you. âI mean, yeah. You know how much I hate the dust and stuff getting on me.â
âRight, right,â you mutter, squinting as you step closer and rake your eyes over him. Ah ha. Thereâs flour dusted on the top of his shoulder, and youâre quick to swipe some of it onto your finger. âThis is said dust, huh?â
He looks down at your finger, struggling to keep a straight face upon seeing the white powder. âMhm.â
âLiar!â
âIâm not lying, I swear,â he grins upon seeing your frown, leaning forward to give your nose a peck.
You swat him away. âYes, you are. Tell me what youâre up to.â
âIâm not up to anything, pretty girl,â he mutters as he moves up to kiss the soft spot under your eye.
You try to back up, but he takes your wrist and pulls you closer. At this point, youâre fighting to keep the smile off your face. âJust tell me!â
Remus chuckles. Like the flirt he is, opts to avoid the question and capture your lips in a kiss instead. You involuntarily lean in.
âIf youâre trying to distract me,â you mutter in between kisses, âitâs not working.â You feel his smile on your lips.
He pulls away slightly to rest his forehead against yours, hands going up to thumb at your cheeks. âYou really wanna know?â
You decide to change tactics, putting on your best puppy eyes and pout as you look up at him. You nod, and Remusâ heart melts in record time.
âOkay, well,â he sighs. âYou know those choco chip and peppermint cookies you really like?â He lets go of you to push the door open. âSince tomorrowâs Christmas, I was trying to, you know⌠bake them for you.â
You feel your heart soften at his words, beaming up at him as you enter the kitchen. âSeriously?â
âYeah,â he smiles bashfully, rubbing the back of his neck. âBut umâŚâ he gestures at the state of the kitchen.
You turn away from him to look around, your exhale coming out on a giggle. The place was a mess. A few batches of burnt cookies on the counter, flour here and there, broken egg shells scattered all over the floor. You canât wipe the smile off your face. âYou did this for me.â
He laughs quietly. âMess the kitchen up? Sure, I ââ
âFuck the mess, Rem. Weâll deal with that later,â you grin, lovestruck. Suddenly it feels like the first time you're meeting Remus, and you're falling in love with his softness all over again.
âYou're such a sweetheart. Thank you," you gush, leaning over to peck his cheek. He smiles like the mess was all worth it for a kiss.
âWell, I tried.â
âAnd you tried spectacularly,â you smile encouragingly as you go over to inspect the burnt batch. âTheyâre actually not that bad, just a little burnt is all.â
âYouâre an awful liar, do you know that?â Remus huffs as he comes to stand behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his chin on your shoulder.
You giggle. âBetter than you anyway,â you tilt your face to nuzzle his nose. âWhy donât we clean this up, and tomorrow we can bake the cookies together? Iâll even let you tell James you made them yourself so he feels jealous.â
He laughs and rubs your hips adoringly. âSure thing, dove. Just let me obliviate you tomorrow, so I can surprise you too.â
âThat is not happening!â
Remus assures you that he was not going to wipe your memory. You shrug your blanket off, and the two of you get to cleaning the kitchen in between kisses, laughter, and handfuls of flour hurled at each other. It was the perfect start to Christmas.

Summary: Itâs three in the morning, and Luka just wanted to kiss Marinette goodnight. Marinette has an important meeting in three hours, and she just wants to sleep. (Heâs lucky she loves him. Heâs even luckier she didnât realize she just told him so.)
Authorâs Notes/Warnings: There is a much longer note on the Archive that can be summed up as: merry Christmas @nerdypanda3126 I'm your Secret Santa đ For the Secret Sprinty Santa over at @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers. ââŚif that clock says anything before six thirty, Couffaine, I am dumping your ass,â Marinette grumbled, batting at Luka and scrunching her face up as the scratchy hairs of his not-quite-really-a-beard-yet tickled against her cheek. He smiled and caught her hand, squeezing her fingers as he pressed a kiss against her cheek anyway. âIf itâs three, Iâm fucking murdering you.â
âŚhe had to admit: he did have a bad habit of that. Waking her up at three AM.
God, he loved her. She was usually more...refined, leaving the grumpy swearing for the Boat Kid he was, but when she was tired and cranky and he was waking her up atâŚhe winced when he glanced at the phone on the bedside charger and saw that it was, in fact, three oâclock in the morning.

My gift to you @marvelmaniac715
Here's a little thing I made for that idea I was sharing with you. This is completely out of order from where I would want to start the story, but it's a thing I made as a little proof of concept. Unfortunately it's pretty rough, but I'm writing from a perspective of a self hating girl, and then a teen out of his depth. Once I write it proper, it'll feel more natural. For now, here is Cherry Lolly, or Janet from the Starry eyed children Revival, and Tim Hudson, the first prophet after the Lord's reformation you wrote. Say hi to the Homeless man! whoopies I wrote 2.5k words! enjoy everyoneeee. Fair warning, Janet's views on herself is not how I see things. Also Janet thinks in a more stilted way, so her narration is, like that. Reblogs appreciated!
Janet watched from the bush as Tim passed by with William. Heâd changed since the accident that took away the use of his left leg. He was more confident and talked to everyone now. Janet watched him, him and the brightly colored friends heâd made. She didnât mean to be creepy, but if anyone saw her they would run away. She knew that, she knew how hideous she was, with her top teeth covered in skin, a surgical adjustment and filter flap in her neck that made her look like a robot, not even a lower jaw to pretend to look like a normal girl. Her parents tried to tell her she was still pretty. The screams of those kids still haunted her and proved them wrong every single day she walked the earth. Thatâs why she had to hide in bushes and trees to watch the normal people go about their days.Â
Tim had changed physically too. His fingers were longer, and his right leg was longer, sheâd noticed his left leg drag less and less as the months went on, just slightly. She knew why, it had to do with William. Sheâd watched him and his brothers for a little while now. They werenât normal, they could transform into new bodies. She would give her dominant arm up for a power like that. No one else remembered, but Tim used to have brown eyes. Whoever changed everyoneâs minds must have forgotten her. No one remembers Janet. Tim used to have brownish eyes. Now one eye was a dull blue, and the other was still hazel now, it had a thick ring of green around it, and green near the pupil. No one else remembered, except for her. No one likes Janet but her parents, and they never tried to have another child, they learned their lesson.Â
Janet felt gross. She was so gross watching others like this. But she couldnât talk to them without revealing this awful deformity. She had to use her talk pad if she used the phone. Tim was special. Something was different about him now. Sheâd seen him give a present to the homeless man on Christmas Eve. Sheâd seen many things. She knew about Max Jagerman, the ghost of Hatchetfield who murdered her favorite girl. Ruth was the only other person she worked up the courage to interact with, and that was only a week before her death. Ruth didnât care that she was disgusting, sheâd called Janet pretty, sheâd held hands with her, she even gave her these cherry hair clips she would never stop wearing.Â
The brothers showed up on the night Max disappeared forever, and Janet could feel the shift in the air as time went on. The town was different now. They had something to do with it, and they could do things no one else could. Them and the sister, the girl who walked with Hannah. Sheâd tried to talk to Hannah, but her cowardice kept her back. Janet shivered, it was cold out and she didnât have proper protection today. Wendy radiated warmth and a special magic, she could feel it. Janet crept back towards her home, the woods feeling more real to her than the town did.Â
She carefully avoided crossing into the camp territory. Sheâd also watched girl Jeri and boy Jerry before. She was scared of the counselors. The adults didnât seem to notice how strange they were, but she knew. She knew they were bad news, and she knew about little Jerry. He was nice to her, and she brought him muffins sometimes. Her family lived far away from the rest of the town. She knew why, it was because her parents were ashamed of her. Thatâs why they never went into town, or took her out to shop, or lived in town. They would lie and tell her itâs because this house was part of the family line. They told her lots of families lived in the woods. That part wasnât a lie, sheâd seen the other kids playing in the woods, but they couldnât meet her.Â
Janet was a monster, and she knew it. The only person other than her parents who was nice to her was a fellow monster. Normal people didnât need to use a feeding line in her arm to stay alive. Normal people had tongues and chins and could talk. Normal people didnât spend their days watching from the shadows. Normal people had friends. No one remembered the day she was born in the hospital and the nurses screamed in fear anymore. She knew she was a monster. But like a monster she couldnât resist the draw of humanity. She wanted to be seen and loved. She spent hours writing in her notebooks, entire scripts, books, and stories. Sheâd explored every part of the forest.Â
Tim was nice to the homeless man. No one was nice to him, everyone hated him and thought he was weird and gross. Janet had watched him stumble around and talk to himself all the time. She thought about trying to be his friend, but heâd probably assume she was a hallucination and ignore her. Better not to risk it. Tim though, Tim got him a gift, and he talked to him, and cared about him. MaybeâŚmaybe he wouldnât mock her. Maybe he would be nice to an animal like her. A monster like Janet. She had to try.Â
Christmas Eve:
âSpare change for the homeless?â The man asked, it was one of the few things he could say easily. Tim shook his head and took a seat next to him. The homeless man scrambled to make room for him, staring at him with more confused than usual eyes. Wiggly stood a few feet away, holding Timâs crutches for him. The snow was thin here under the awning of the shoe store. Tim shivered, but his snow pants kept him dry. It was harder to get around in these, but they were warmer.Â
Tim looked at the manâs shaking hands in the cold. âDo you have a name?â He asked, taking some gloves out of his pocket and handing them to the man. âEveryone walks past you and ignores you. Iâve seen you around since I was a baby.â The man used to speak more clearly, if just as strangely. Tim remembered when he would have conversations with random objects. Now his voice was really shaky and he couldnât seem to form full sentences anymore.
The man struggled to get the gloves onto his hands, fingers numbed by cold and by some kind of disability that made all his movements strange or jerky. Maybe it was making his voice worse. Was it a degenerative condition? âAâŚA nameâŚâ He looked up at the sky, it was already getting dark, and the last bits of sunlight reflected off the clouds. âMy na-naame, I hadâŚâ He shut his eyes. âI had a nameâŚâ He suddenly clutched his head and groaned. âI ca-canât thinnnk about the paâ anymore. Time hurts, it hurts!âÂ
Tim grabbed his arm in alarm. âForget it, itâs ok! If you donât have a name, maybe we can think of one!âÂ
The man uncurled and looked at the hand on his coated arm. No one had done that in years. â...A new one?â He rocked back and forth for a minute, eyes searching around for something.Â
The teenager nodded, this wasnât how heâd planned for this to go, but the homeless man needed help, and he wanted to help out if he could. âYeah! UmâŚUhâŚâ He looked around and saw the holiday menu on the Beanieâs sign. âWhat about Noelle? Or maybe Noah if thatâs too feminine?â The man scrunched up his face in concentration.Â
âNoelle.â The man repeated the name a few times, each time less slurred than the last. â...I havâa name now.â Noelle smiled, turning to Tim. âThanks! Thatâs good stuff isnât- yeah, prettyâŚgood.â Tim watched how badly he was shivering. The cold was making things even worse. The cold makes your head foggy, or thatâs what it does to Tim. A car went by, a green one. âTim, thanks.âÂ
âHow do you know my name?âÂ
âWhoseâŚname?â Noelle looked around for another person, but they were the only ones on this street right now. He shivered and pulled his coat tighter over his body, and Tim noticed the buttons were all snapped or missing. Or the hole was torn and too big to keep the button in place. Noelle couldnât close his coat anymore.Â
Tim shook his head. âNever mind. Well, Noelle, I wanted to give you something. Youâre broken, right? Your brain is broken, and you canât do stuff normally anymore right? Thatâs why you do all those weird things all the time, and follow Peter around.âÂ
Noelle nodded. âPeteyâŚâ Tears formed in his eyes, which confused Tim, but he pushed forwards. He hadnât planned this out very well, but something inside him told him to come to Noelle and help him.Â
âWell, Iâm broken too.â Tim gestured to his leg, which was currently sitting in an awkwardly painful position which Tim couldnât feel. âMy body got messed up, and I think my heart is broken, orâŚsomething inside me got broken when I was younger. See, broken people have to help each other.â Tim felt weird, this wasnât how he usually talked, but he wasnât sure if Noelle would understand him otherwise. Tim didnât know how to explain these things. âI want to help you. If we donât help each other, who will? Becky serves at the soup kitchen, but you always get there after it closes so she canât give you anything.â He pulled out a gift wrapped box and offered it to Noelle. âSo, maybe this will help.âÂ
Noelle happily took the box and looked at Tim. âNew box!âÂ
âNo, itâs in the box, itâs- itâs in the box Noelle.â Had Noelle ever been given a Christmas present before? Tim felt tears freeze on his cheeks. He shouldâve done this years ago. Tim helped him unwrap the gift, revealing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles watch. âMy uncle Wilbur always tells me that itâs important to keep the time, so maybe if you have a watch too you can get to the kitchen before it closes.â Tim felt self conscious. âSorry, I thought it would be better to use a cheaper watch so I can replace it for you if it gets broken, and if I got an expensive one it might get stolen from you. Is this ok?âÂ
Noelle stared at the ticking clock, fascinated by it. âTickâŚTockâŚâ He nodded distractedly and slipped the watch onto his wrist. âWhat time?â Noelle had a weird cast to his eyes as he looked at the watch-face.Â
Tim waved for Noelle to look at him. âItâs from 4pm to 6pm, so from here-â He made the clock time with his arms. âTo there. As long as you come during that time, we can help you.â Tim looked at Wiggly, and then back to the man. âIf you need more help, I want you to do this special knock, and then Iâll know itâs you. Blinky says you wonât hurt me, and even if you tried, Wiggly wouldnât let you. So knock on my window and Iâll wake up to help you.â Tim knocked on the wall in a simple but strange way. âOk, you do it.âÂ
Noelle tried, messing it up a few times before he got it down. â...That?âÂ
âYeah, just knock like that on my window. In the box is a map to my house, and where my window is. I wanna help you, but donât come unless you really need me, ok?â Tim waved Wiggly over and dug his water bottle out of his bag. âAndâŚYou can have this too, so you can get water from the fountains and take it with you.âÂ
Noelle held the water bottle and box in his arms, crying as his face made a strange smile. âThaâs really nice. Thank you!â His eyes cleared for a moment, as if he was actually seeing Tim. His voice changed, and it sounded really familiar. âTimâŚYouâre the Hudson kid, you used to go to Beanieâs all the time, and you had a donut every time we ran into each other. I was trying to ask out- out- IâŚâ The cloudiness came back to him and the strange smile returned along with his normal voice. â...ThanksâŚâÂ
Tim swallowed and wiped his eyes, a little disturbed by the exchange. It was much weirder for him to have clarity and then go back to his usual than to just be strange. âUmâŚright. Well, well, merry Christmas Noelle. I hope you can get soup now. Goodbye.âÂ
âSeeâa kid! Merry merry merry- that. Merry!â He called as Wiggly gave him his crutches back and they headed home. Well, not home, but to Lexâs place for a Christmas party, with his Dadâs permission, of course. Â
Wiggly glanced back at the man. âDo you know who he is?â Tim noticed the testing tone he had.
âNo one knows who he is, or where he came from. I feel bad for him⌠Do you know him, Wiggly?âÂ
His friend paused and shook his head. âNo, Tim, I do not.â Tim looked at him, something felt off about his answer, but Wiggly didnât usually hide things if it wasnât for a good reason. âYou did a very good thing friendy wend.âÂ
Tim smiled and accepted his friendâs silent offer to carry him back, the crutches held by semi transparent tentacles that sort of waved around them. âI feel much better, knowing he has some gloves now. Thanks for buying those.âÂ
âMhm, now itâs time to open those presents you made us. Iâve very excited Timmly wim.â Tim snickered at the name and relaxed his neck, looking up at the sky. It was dark enough that no one wouldâve been able to see Wigglyâs magic extra limbs anyways.Â
âYouâre going to love them. All of you. I spent a long time making these.â It was Timâs idea to give the brothers and sister their presents on Christmas Eve so they could spend the day with their respective favorite people. Tinky had invited himself to Peterâs house for the day.Â
Wiggly met his eyes and gave him a smile. âI have a few gifts for you as well, and I think youâll like them.â Wigglyâs smile stretched to a grin. âYou may need some more wrapping paper.âÂ
Tim grinned back. âYouâre the best, you know that right?âÂ
âOf course I do. Iâm the king of Hatchetfield.â He gestured to the crown with a tentacle, which was hidden and poking from under his winter cap. The hat didnât do much since it wouldnât fit over his head properly, but Tim thought it was funny and didnât point out how useless the hat actually was.Â
âYep! Kings and Queens and all the inbetweens! Letâs go party!!â Tim cheered. The two continued to talk as they made their way to Lexâs house.

A Jamie-centric pre-OT3 Christmas story told in 25 short chapters.
Masterpost / AO3
1. Prologue
This is a Christmas story. It beginsâ
âin December, in London, and with the whole of AFC Richmond spilling out from a theatre in an animated gaggle of waving hands and raised voices.
âNah, youâre wrong, bruv,â Isaac told Jamie emphatically. "This shit's way better than Mickey's Christmas Carol."Â
Jamie rolled his eyes at that insane opinion and set out to explain how Isaac was as wrong as wrong could be (but respectfully, like), while behind them Moe was explaining something about capitals to Thierry and Bhargava handed Dani a tissue.
After Ted had shown them Scrooged for their last team movie night, a heated debate on the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol had led to a seven night movie marathon ending with Isaac taking them all to The Old Vic for the stage version.Â
Jamie, something of a theatre expert thanks to Keeley, had helpfully informed everyone that talking to the characters or shouting suggestions during the performance was not allowed, because even though that was still a fucking stupid rule â just imagine someone trying to introduce that to football games, the fans would riot and theyâd be right to â that was the sort of thing Jamie did now: he was helpful. Was a team player. Gave useful tips to people before they made fools of themselves, rather than gleefully afterwards. It wasnât always as much fun, no, but sometimes good in a different sort of way. And it wasnât like he had much of a choice, anyway; the team had made that plenty clear when he returned to Richmond.
âAll right, lads, Iâm off,â he called to them now, giving up on trying to convince Isaac of the errors of his taste. Too cold for it. âGot me car over by Park Plaza.â
âSee you tomorrow, boyo,â Colin said, clapping him on the shoulder.
âGood night, Jamie.â Samâs smile was still just this side of tentative, but it seemed sincere enough and Jamie couldnât help but smile back. He was all right, Sam. Â
With less than three weeks until Christmas, the London night was chilly as Jamie made his way through it. No snow, naturally â though not unheard of, a white Christmas in the English capital was uncommon indeed. Not that chances were much better up in Manchester.
Manchester. The thought of it brought a small frown to Jamieâs face. He knew he ought to go up there after the game on Boxing Day, to visit Mummy and Simon. Before he was loaned to Richmond heâd always spent Christmas at home; last year, heâd blamed the distance and the fixtures for not being able to make it.
It hadnât been a lie, but hadnât been the whole truth either. Secretly, Jamie had been relieved for the excuse to stay away. It wasnât that he didnât want to see his mum â he always wanted to see his mum â but he hadnât known to deal with the crushing weight of all the things he couldnât tell her; of all the things he didnât want her to know. It had sat heavy and silent between them, a barrier that only seemed to grow higher and higher as he was sent back to City, as he fled City for Lust Conquers All, as he begged his way back to Richmond.
Now things were better, with him and with the team (and from his dad thereâd been nothing, not for months now, and maybe this timeâbut no. Jamie didnât want to think about Dad now), and it was time, really, to man up and make it up to Manchester. To come clean to  Mummy and have things go back to normal.
Jamie had no fucking idea how to do that. The idea of disappointing her left a sour taste in his mouth and his stomach churning.
Still frowning, Jamie unlocked his car and slipped into the driverâs seat. The Tube would have been quicker, but he hadnât been in the mood to be recognized tonight. It was all right if people wanted to talk football, but at least one out of three still wanted to yell at him about Amy. Which was really unfair, because nothing on that show had been real, had it, and Amy knew that.
Amy had known that, right?
Didnât matter now. Stupid shit, over and done with. Jamie Tartt had other things to worry about.
He pulled out of the car park, turned right, and began his journey home.
---
This is a Christmas story, and maybe it begins here tooâ
Ââin a house in Chelsea, on that same December eve, and with Roy Kent keeping an eye on the oven and the time, while over by the table Keeley and his niece were adding increasingly intricate details to the gingerbread dragon-unicorn-princess-whatevers they were making.
Outside, an Aston Martin passed by on its way from Waterloo to Richmond. Roy would have recognized the car, had he seen it, and Keeley too (rather intimately), but the kitchen window was facing the other way and neither of them did.
âLook, Uncle Roy, this one looks just like you,â Phoebe exclaimed, proudly exhibiting a cookie man with curious antlers and a dour expression that did indeed make him look rather like the retired player.
Keeley laughed. âHa! Yeah, it does!â
Roy growled. It was his fond growl. It was all right this, Keeley and Phoebe and the gingerbread covering every surface in the kitchen; all right in a way not a lot of things had been since he ended his career by sending Jamie Tartt flying to the ground half a year ago.
As for Jamie Tartt⌠He drove past the house without looking at it twice. Heâd never been inside Roy Kentâs home; never known exactly where he lived.  Â
That would change, before morning broke on Christmas Day. Because this is a Christmas story, and those always come with miracles.
