Jesminda and Lucien as a retro romance novel! Would you pick it up? :’)

I imagine Jesminda as being a tree spirit, dryad type of girl. Half Himalayan pine (her father, from the Winter Court) and half Elm (her mother, from the Autumn court); real world ethnicity-wise, I see that as half Tibetan, half Catalan or Occitan (because I imagine the Autumn Court as the Pyrenees)! And I imagine her being more late Autumn, very Evermore by Taylor Swift, wooded and rich and chilly 🤎

Do some in this fandom really not pay attention to Sarah's writing or past books?

A known to be very problematic e/riel, while specifically writing her post is not ship related and using every characters name tag and the e/riel tag is claiming e/riels are the only ones who care for Elain because we don't feel the twins will be a major part of her story. Because why would SJM have written them as her friends if they were not meant to play a major role in her arc.

For the same reason that in canon Amren became Nesta's friend in ACOWAR, helped her train but did not end up playing a major role for her in SF? For the same reason that Gwyn and Emerie became Nesta's found family instead?

All the twins have done for Elain is spend time baking with her and dressing her. That is the canon friendship e/riels are dying on their hill for.

In canon they haven't helped Elain train her powers. In canon we have no evidence they care for her turmoil over Graysen or Lucien or her father or stabbing a man.

In canon Az does not even address them by name or share a single on page conversation with these supposed friends of Elain's, people he himself trained yet he ignores. Yet he had half his bonus dedicated to Gwyn. Yet Sarah found a way for Az to share conversation in SF itself with Gwyn, a brand new character.

It was canon Feyre once believed Ianthe her friend, canon is not the trump some think it is.

We don't care less for Elain because we don't imagine her arc will feature much of the twins. We care more for Elain because we know what a SJM friendship actually looks like and we haven't seen it in the series for her yet.

That's not to say she and the twins won't always be fond of one another. It's possible to have more than two friends after all and Elain being liked by many would be the type to have friends wherever she goes.

However we look forward to friendships for her that involve characters who push Elain outside her comfort zone and who force her past her polite shell, something we've never seen when she's around the twins.

It's funny how hard they'll push Vassien together because to them she's such an "important, amazing" character that she deserves to be by a future fae High Lords side yet somehow she's not good enough to become Elain's friend. Though Vassa, not the twins, actually knew and cared for Elain's father just as she did.

Caring for the same father figure would logically create more of a sisterly bond than liking the same tarts and baked goods.

I'd love to see more of Jurian and Vassa interacting with their found family, the Band of Exiles (which I anticipate Elain joining)

SJM Romance Week Day 4: Moving in Together | Jassa

Jurian: I think we should move in together.

Lucien was mentally abused by his “father”, he was mentally and phisically abused by his own brother (or half brothers), excluded maybe by Eris.

He saw his first love murdered in front of him, the person he loved the most.

He lost an eye because of Amarantha.

For awhile he was happy and he found a home in the spring court but he was Tamlin’s victim too. He was mentally and physically abused by him for years

He literally almost died to save Feyre’s life UTM.

Lucien was Tamlin’s victim too. An emotional toxic friendship. Tamlin litelly obeyed him to do the Rite and he was SEXUALLY ABUSED by Iantahe (several times).

He found out that his mate was Elain and not Jesminda and he was SHOCKED and then he was willing to die in the war. Lucien went on a mission to find Vassa.

He is unaware that Helion is his real father and I bet when Helion found out, he’s gonna kill Beron and taking his revenge. Lucien deserved to know about this, deserved to be loved by a proper father for once.

He trusted the IC, I like to think they’re friends, literally during acosf Lulu, Cassian & Rhys were talking about sports (I need that scene from Lucien’s pov). Cassian was sad for Lucien for the situation w Elain.

Rhys is definitely Team Lucien, (just for political reason but still)

He found his family, his found family with the Band of Exiles.

lucien Vanserra deserved the best, deserves an happy ending.
