#my art #boruto naruto next generations #sarada uchiha #shikadai nara #inojin yamanaka #in no particular order except sarada is my fav- i think she shouldve been main focus- girl brings all of og team 7 together at all times #just her family history alone is very interesting and i WISH we had seen a convo with sausage boi about her uncle and just everything #but shes a pretty solid character on her own- VERY good mix of both parents yet still being her own self #shikadai is funny i really like seeing him- hes a sight for sore eyes- bro got EVERYTHING from his dad minus his eyes and maybe hair #his dynamic with boruto being besties is really fun to watch- sarada too- with both shika and sara being geniuses and all #i love inojin's simplicity and how ordinary he is.... its... realistic?#hes artistically talented yes with his ninja art stuff but everything else hes kinda... mundane? at times even bad?#Considering every other prev gen child's got all these cool stuff goin on- i like that hes just... kinda normal... i like that about him #boruto i actually do like as well- he'd make a GREAT support character- i love how big bro he is and how he wants to stand up for others #hes a lot like naruto in that way- and might be a hot topic to say this but i also like how - in his very first arc- boruto hates the hokag #not his dad but internalized that the job took his dad away from him- regardless on criticism i think that concept is really neat #i am not well versed in what the story is now for boruto- ive just kinda picked my snacks on what i wanna watch lmao #but i do wish there was more showings of slice of life for all the kids- cuz they are all really interesting- especially for prev gen's kid #>>wished they did timetravel arc with sarada so we coulda seen young sasuke & sakura interact with boruto and sarada T_T #one last note: borusara is very interesting- but i actually prefer them just being friends- at most friends with crushes on eachother #i do think its cute but i like the dynamic of it being unrequited idk its new for me i just prefer them as friends with crushes lmao #prob cuz they work as characters independently Im not really interested in ANY of the new gen hookin up- borusara is the most interesting #i mean it IS the ONLY one being pushed canonically but i like it- that boruto looks out for sarada and sarada worries for boruto #but ya i wish boruto was like mitsuki in being a side character - i think a LOT more people will find him less annoying that way #though- i REALLY want more sarada and sasuke dynamics being shown- actually the uchiha fam a TON more than what we got #they are just SUPER interesting to me lmao #im a sucker for the emo boy turns soft and has family and bonds with their kids- its one of my favourite things in media #i feel like scraping the ocean floor when im trying to find quality sasuke and sarada art pieces and story stuff #cuz ive exhausted all the content in these past what 2-3 years of knowing both boruto- and now more recently - naruto #(yes im one of those people who knew boruto before naruto- smite me)

i do wish i was better at communicating with people online and through technology. i wander into conversations and make new ones all the time irl with random people and its fun but im like hyping myself to type out a single response to a Post. and to say nothing of how difficult it is to get me to say something in a discord server

#or even video or audio calls are becoming hard for me rn. i used to be better at this #i used to be sooo good at talking to people online. maybe. or maybe not actually #now that i think about it ive always been a little outside of everything in both irl and online communities ive been in #you know i was part of the mods for a deviantart species a long time ago. i was pretty bad at my job i was always too slow to actually mod #and one day i came home from school and like the entire modbase imploded because of drama on a discord or smth they had that i wasnt in LOL #tbh i was a bit older than all of them and busy with final year of highschool stuff so i wasnt super present. i think they just had me on #because while i wasnt particularly popular as an artist i did have some eyecatching polish on my art. but it was wild i was like #whats going on. who are you people. where am i. i have to apply to ouac rn i dont know whats happening #wait random ass deviantart drama i was vaguely adjacent to but still dont really know what happened aside. i would like to chat more #i think the easiest way to converse with me is commenting on my posts like theyre forum threads. or dming me. sometimes #im so bad with group chats. especially if they have multiple channels. the only group chat ive stuck with is a tiny one with like #two other friends and we just write thoughts and about our day and pictures of animals and whatever #i get confused and scared in discords. i get so confused and scared #i used to be okay with discord calls but even with that ive been struggling. am i scared of the computer #am i scared of the computer. the machine. whats happening

Just a reminder that the 'what if I bite myself and you get sick' routine is word-for-word ripped off from the cult classic show Mystery Science Fiction 3000. If you have seen this played off as if it were an organic interaction between quirky tumblr mutuals, cringe in the knowledge that people plagiarize from real artists to gain acceptance.

And it is this EXACT type of person, perhaps literally, that is maligning the desperate survivors of the most documented genocide in history.

Watermelon Whale Shark

*cough* ignore the inaccurate whale shark anatomy *cough*

@fluffysheeps recently made some watermelon whale shark plushies and they've been living in my head rent-free since.

This illustration was a practice using water-based ink. I made a similar work for inktober last year and wanted to redo the idea. I also added some watercolor to make the whale sharks pop. I want one of those whale sharks so bad man.

Also completely random but I found out how to use the "keep reading" thing on Tumblr - only took like six months.

Thanks, anon. It was about a decade ago (although the incidents happened in different years), so time's marched on. They're both doing well now.

#it was actually at the same festival #i volunteered there for a year and worked there for another two #and the assaults happened in that time #it's actually part of why i left the festival #it was a bunch of artists basically descending on a regional aus town every year to create art and learn and develop #and the nature of it was that the festival wanted diverse artists to attend #particularly lgbtqi+ artists #and then did nothing to protect them once they were there #i had huge issues with it especially as at the time i was working in marketing / publicity #and felt we were marketing to audiences we would be putting in danger #it didn't help that everyone who worked at the festival was extremely young #like god #i was about 21 or 22 i think at the time and i think the festival director was only 25 #and i was not very good at advocating for my own opinions although tbh i also don't think i had the vocabulary for it that i do now either #but y'know #it's given me a deeply rooted passion for artist safety #which sounds extremely uncool lol but i've worked in and out of the field ever since #a large part of my current job at the theatre company is in safe and equitable workplaces #actually right now even i'm working on a safety strategy for working with deaf actors and artists #as we're developing a new show which has a lot of them #so i've been doing a lot of training and interviewing deaf people and advocates to develop it #work's even paying for me to learn auslan which has been amazing #and like the fact that my job even exists now i think is a sign of how far we've come over the last decade #but still #probably revealing too much about my real life here right now haha

Don't beat yourself up! Honestly, it's fine if a commission takes a little long, the last thing I'd want is the person I commission to stress themselves over a piece and getting frustrated. In my opinion I rather wait as long as possible for something that had time and effort put into it then receive a product the artist didn't have a good time working on!

I really appreciate it! It’s not for everyone to wait and that’s alright but genuinely, a lot of my best work comes out of patience and enjoyment. I put in a LOT of effort and fun details and take my sweet time cleaning up the piece when I know I’m gonna enjoy taking all that time to do it

Like hell, how I did the entire second version of that piece of the one oc and Frank? I had so much fun doing it and adding details that were harder to notice and taking the time to throw on some more layers to make a creepy one and I hardly minded taking that extra time to do it because I was in the zone and having fun 😌

#honestly I’ve gotten over the disappointment about not being fit for the job if someone decides like #they no longer want the commission (within reason ofc) or I’m just taking too long on a particularly simple step #because also? that’s my opportunity to say hey! I know an artist who’s just as good and so much quicker!#fun fact I did this for Xisuma once #we weren’t sure if I could do what he had in mind so I said that’s okay!#if I can’t I’m happy I was considered regardless and you took the time to message me about it #so here’s an artists that is an expert at what you’re looking for :)#little bit of a tangent but like yeah it’s not the end of the world #I do my job and can only hope I won’t disappoint a client in the process
