Mama - eddie/reader
Summary: A week after the birth of Jee-Yun, Christopher has something to ask Y/N. Eddie/reader, Shannon never came back in S2.
A week after the birth of Jee-Yun, Christpher crawls into bed with Y/N, waking her with his clumsy movements.
"You alright, love?" she asks softly, running a hand over his back as he settles on the empty side of the bed, wrapping his arms around Eddie's pillow. He's quiet for a long moment, his heavy breathing the only sign of life; it's been a little while since he'd had a nightmare, but he was more prone to them when Eddie was working.
"I want…" he hesitates, taking a deep breath. "I know I had a mommy, but I want to…"
Y/N can see where he's going with his train of thought, but she turns to properly face him without interrupting him.
"What can I call you?" he finally asks. "Mommy is wrong but you're doing those things."
He's not wrong; she makes his lunch, drives him to school, takes care of him when he's sick, is there through his meltdowns, no matter how bad, and loves him deeply.
"How does 'mama' sound?" Y/N offers, and he thinks about it before testing it out, letting the word hang in the air.
"I like it," he finally says, his sleepy happiness making her want to giggle.
She leans over, kissing his cheek before settling down beside him, "Get some sleep."
The next morning when Eddie arrives home, Chris doesn't hesitate to use Y/N's new name, "Daddy, Mama made pancakes!"
"I can see," he murmurs, chuckling softly as he makes his way around the table, dropping a kiss to Chris' hair before reaching Y/N.
"Good morning, Mama," he greets, kissing her softly on the cheek, and she rolled her eyes. He knew, and given Chris didn't have a phone, it meant he knew ahead of time.
"When did he talk to you about it?" she asks quietly as she puts a set of pancakes on a plate for him and he chuckles.
"A few days ago, he said that Jee-Yun being born made him think about it," he admits, "but he didn't know what to call you so was waiting until he figured it out."
"He gave up on waiting and asked me directly," she says, turning to Chris and ruffling his hair. "I don't mind being woken up at 2am if it's for things like that."
He giggles through a mouthful of pancakes, and Y/N turns back to Eddie, kissing him properly. She loved her place in this family, she'd found her home, and Chris wanting to refer to her as a mother, as his mother, truly made her feel like it was permanent.

Misunderstanding- Spencer Reid x Mom!reader
pairings; Spencer Reid X Mom!reader (ft Daughter!!OC)
summary: Being called to your daughters school and being told not to bring Spencer, it was the worst day ever.
content warnings; talks of child abuse
wc; 1.3k
[masterlist]
Your heart was pounding. Exploding, prodding, falling out of your chest. The phone called seemed … horrible. You were instructed not to call your husband and to come straight to the school. That was the first and biggest red flag of the call. Spencer was your guide throughout this life.
Having him by your side through the good, bad, and ugly was the norm. So, when the principal of Amaterdam Elementary told you to come alone it scared you. Immediately asking why and being told Tyler is safe and we just have to get a few things sorted out, you felt sick to your stomach.
Tyler Noel Reid was your first and currently only child with Spencer. An angel since she was in the womb. Surprising both you and Spencer because of how chaotic you both are. A mix of you both would or should have been hell but Tyler wasn’t that way.
Spencer was currently in Colorado for a case. Even when he was away it never really felt like it. Always calling to see Tyler and how her day was along with the rants he goes on about how he bothers Derek. You two were close even when he is miles away.
This killed you but you had to pull yourself together for your daughter. You walked into the school that had hallways filled with drawings and bright colors but still feeling so dark inside. What happened to our baby girl? You stuffed it all down as the principal approached you.
As you walked into the office you noticed the woman in a skirt and suit with a visitor pass.
Standing up to shake your hand, “Hi, I’m Shannon with child protective services.” She smiled as if this was normal. Shaking her hand with furrowed eyebrows completely confused why they are here.
You quickly noticed your daughter with her head hung so low it hurt you. She didn’t even move to look at you but you still kissed her forehead. Curls finally dry causing her hair to look a mess just like her dad. Checking on your daughter before anything
“Ty, what’s going on honey?” Asking and you moved her hair out the way. She was tall for a 10 year old almost taller than you. The most beautiful girl with eyes and a nose like her dad. Of course her very Spencer-like smile. The sweetest girl you could meet she was everything and more for you and Spencer.
“I’m sorry mommy” tears fell down her eyes,
“You have nothing to be sorry for Bug. I promise.” You looked her in the eye, almost crying, you were so scared for her. Looking at the principal as she began to talk,
“I know this is a lot so we can get straight to it. We’ve noticed a huge bruise on Tylers thigh and arm as if someone pushed her. The gym teacher did a follow up when she noticed she could barley move her arm today.”
This explains why she’s been so closed off lately. She was getting older so you both expected it. Always teaching and allowing her to set her own boundaries. As her mommy you’ll always see her as that little girl.
She paused looking at Tyler and then back at you.
“When asked She told us that her dad pushed her down. We had no choice but to call cps.”
Your first reaction was anger because Spencer would never do this. Besides the fact he never ever hits anyone who doesn’t deserve it never his baby girl.
Swallowing that down you immediately pulled her into a hug. You couldn’t choose obviously but Tyler always came first for you and Spencer. Thinking about your next move you quickly talked with cps and the principal with Tyler out of the room.
You knew this was bad but you didn’t want it handled this way. You told child protective services that it was all a misunderstanding, that her father didn’t mean to hurt her. You didn’t know if it was true or not but anything to get child protective services off your back.
You took Tyler home in silence, nothing but her soft whimpers in the back. Finally breaking the silence,
“Ty, do you want to talk about it? Without your dad?” You said softly, she nodded her head, you hurried home wanting to get to the bottom of this.
Spencer pushed our daughter
You arrived at the house and Tyler went to sit down on the couch as you followed behind. All you knew is that you wanted to support her however. Growing up with your fair of “whoopings” disguised as beatings, you didn’t want her to feel how you felt.
“Ty, tell me what your dad did so I can hel—-“
You were interrupted by Spencer walking through the door, not taking your eyes off of her. She tensed up which also scared you.
“Hey my beautiful girls, I got back early so I thought we get ice cream.” He rambled as he was walking in the house with his things. Lifting his head up and immediately noticing the two of you and Tylers tear stained face.
“What happened Bug?” He said approaching the couch to sit next to her.
“I got bruises from when you pushed me and now the school knows. Please don’t let them take me. Im so sorry.”
Now Spencer did push her and it was hard but not in the way the school or you thought. They were playing a game of little league football, made up by Tyler. Now, of course Spencer could win a football game with children he just maybe took it a little to serious while getting a touchdown. It sounds ridiculous but he is stronger than he thinks. The worst part was that Tyler didn’t say a peep, she just got hurt and said nothing about the bruises.
“Oh honey, I’m so sorry I didn’t know I pushed you that hard. Why didn’t you tell your mom or I you were hurt?”
Tyler wiped her tears and took a breath, “I know you told me to tell you when I’m hurt even on the inside but you never cry when you get hurt and I didn’t want to seem like a baby”
She told her dad honestly, and it was true Spencer never showed sadness around her.
“I cry alot Ty, and I don’t want you to hide when you’re hurt from me or your mom. We would never see your pain as a sign of weakness.” Pulling her into a hug as she cried harder.
You all went to the bathroom to examine the bruises and found the best way to heal them. After that you all got ready for bed. Spencer reading her a story tonight since he’s home. You waited in your shared bedroom for your husband.
“She’s finally asleep” he walked into your room and immediately into the bed and place a kiss on your cheek. You smiling in response still thinking about what happened today.
“You thought I hurt her on purpose didn’t you?” Breaking the awkward silence. Being a child who was hit and beat on just for being a kid it was hard to handle the situation.
“Truthfully, yes, you know how my childhood was, that little girl in me immediately believed you did it.”
You and Spencer never lied to each other partly because it was impossible to lie to him.
“But as your wife and the woman that loves you, I knew you would never hurt or harm her on purpose” moving in to snuggle him, you hated that this could possibly hand over your heads.
“I would never and will never hurt her, I’m sorry for even letting you thinking that.” He looked you in the eye as he talked as his tears fell. Wiping them off and placing a kiss on his lips as you both said I love yours and headed to sleep.

I actually love this idea, but it feels like it's delaying his coming out again😭 I don't want another sudden article popping up out of nowhere with Ryan saying Eddie is straight😅
(I'm feeling quite elated and calm after the episode, but I can sense a new spiral incoming soon, lol)
I very much doubt we’ll be seeing another one of those articles - Ryan has changed the way he talks about Eddie and relationships - he’s clearly stated he’s working on himself through 8a and has switched to gender neutral pronouns when referring to potential future romance.
The stache will be gone in episode 6 and in reality a massive chunk of Eddie’s ability to accept or confront (or whatever descriptor you want to use) his queerness stems from the Helena of it all - that is the part of Eddie’s queer journey that is going to be the most difficult, angsty and heart breaking. I say this because Eddie figuring out who he is without Chris is about Eddie figuring out who he is full stop - he was around 11 when he got pushed into this pseudo husband and father role by Helena - that’s. Th rage that you really truly begin to figure out who you are and that was denied to Eddie. So Chris is a small fraction of that Eddie figuring out who he is - he cannot figure out his queerness until he actually accepts Helena has messed him up and denied him the chance to become who he truly is. He is still in denial about it but I think hot priest and (hopefully) Maddie can help him with that.
Eddie going to church - trying to find it in religion but actually finding Hot priest - who in the same way he helped bobby see where the root of his issues were can help Eddie See Helena is the root of the problem.
Maddie can help him because she has a similar experience - she was denied much of her childhood and forced to grow up and look after Buck because her parents weren’t. For her that led to an abusive relationship whilst for Eddie it led to his continuing poor treatment and gaslighting by Helena and to the poor treamtment of Shannon. So she is ideally placed to help him with some of that really difficult stuff (they also parallled them in s5)
Once he’s recognised it and begun dealing with it it will take some time to untangle and process etc but it can be done in 6-7 episodes (they did his breakdown in fewer - technically 5 from point of actual breakdown) which then leads him into a queer arc for a few episodes and gets him to his coming out - however that looks - around the end of 8a - which is where most of us expected it to fall along with chris’s return (although early 8b also works for this) - with buddie canon in early 8b.
Basically the timeframe hasnt changed just the order in which he deals with things and the size I’ve the various aspects - mommy issues bigger chunk queer aspect small chunk because Eddie’s actually wrestling with the thing that prevented him from knowing and accepting his queerness rather than the being queer itself. It’s great representation if it plays out this way!

"I think it’s easier for Eddie to say he missed his chance with the love of his life because Shannon died instead of admitting that he missed his chance with Buck"
bruh why does this go so hard 😭 /pos
Because it’s true. Eddie has spent the majority of the series feeling extremely unfulfilled by all his (explicitly stated) romantic relationships. Shannon herself was barely a romantic interest. The most chemistry we saw them have was the fact that they slept together. IMO if Chris didn’t exist neither of them would’ve wanted to be together. They were, at most, coparents. And even in that they lacked chemistry, both of them abandoning each other and thrusting a “main parent” role onto the other.
From Eddie’s side of this we see that his parents have largely influenced the way he acts, with his Catholicism being the main reason he married Shannon. Furthermore, his father’s advice of “pushing through your feelings” and machoism is what led Eddie to be incapable of vulnerability with most people in his life. I think when Eddie married Shannon he could already imagine all the ways his parents would try and obsess over the situation and that’s what ultimately pushed him away. But he didn’t really take any of Shannon’s feelings into regard when making his decision. Similarly, I think Shannon having to deal with raising Chris and managing his condition on her own while Eddie’s parents were in the background hovering is part of the reason she left. I think she knew what she was going to do to Eddie and Chris was unfair, but she decided to put herself first anyways.
When they decide to start sleeping together again it isn’t out of love or even real sexual attraction, it’s out of convenience and avoidance. If all they do is sleep together and play pretend for a while then they won’t have to acknowledge the fact that they aren’t in love and that they aren’t good for each other. Every single time they sleep together or try to act like a couple it’s because they feel forced into that role. They slept together once as teens and now they feel like they can’t let go of each other since they have a kid together.
It’s clear from his relationship with Ana that he’s just looking for someone to fill a motherly role for Chris, but I think it started before Shannon died with Shannon herself. Even in the scene where he tries to re-propose to Shannon he says Chris “deserves his Mommy too. He loves his mommy. So do I. I want us to be a family again.” And later Shannon says “I can’t fail him again, or you. I won’t. I’m still learning how to be someone’s mother, and maybe after that I can learn how to be someone’s wife”
While it may seem like they have hope for a future together, to me it finalizes the end of their relationship, seeing as they both admit to missing/wanting each other to fill the roles they think they should. Eddie says he wants them “to be a family” but doesn’t say “I want you to be there with me, support me, etc.” because he’s reaching for a concept, an ideal, an expectation. Shannon does the same thing by saying she needs to learn how to be a wife and mother, not Eddie’s wife, not Chris’s mother, but a wife and a mother. She’s already distancing herself from them. She says she doesn’t want to fail them, and follows it up by asserting that she wants to fill those roles in their lives. To me this demonstrates that neither of them are actually invested in any romantic or sexual connections/feelings between them, but the comfort, convenience, and familiarity that they bring each other by filling those roles.
Then we get to his relationship with Buck. Even though they have a rocky start, within their first episode together they make a vow to have each other’s backs. This already contrasts the way both Eddie and Shannon abandon each other behind their backs (with Eddie re-enlisting without telling Shannon first, and Shannon leaving in the dead of night). In their next few episodes together (the Earthquake plot) we see Buck reassuring Eddie throughout the episode that Chris, who Buck hasn’t even met, will be safe and alright. They work together and by the end of it, Buck is the one who ends up giving Eddie a ride to get to Chris. We then see Buck observing them in this scene and in the scene where Eddie’s abuela is in the hospital. Then we see how Buck continuously supports both Eddie and Chris (giving Bobby a heads up that Chris was going to the station, introducing them to Carla, etc.)
I think the changing point in their relationship (or at least the start of some semblance of romantic acknowledgement) is in Merry Ex-Mas when Buck and Eddie talk about Shannon’s return. Both Buck and Eddie say that it’s none of Bucks business, but Eddie immediately tells Buck what’s going on. Whether it was because he wanted advice, or a listening ear, or because he just felt the need to explain himself to Buck, Eddie decides to be (somewhat) vulnerable and open up to him. Then we see the Santa’s elf tell Buck that he and Eddie have a cute kid, and Buck just goes with it.
Furthermore, Shannon’s loss probably got tangled up with Eddie’s feelings about the ladder truck bombing because they literally happened back-to-back. I think this is part of what causes Eddie to think Shannon is the love of his life and start to romanticize their relationship. Because both Shannon and Buck exited Eddie’s life so abruptly (while Buck was still alive, he was majorly injured and thus unable to see/work with Eddie for a long time) in such jarring ways, I think Eddie associated some of the loss/feelings he had because Buck wasn’t there with the feelings he had about Shannon’s death. I think he has so much catholic guilt and repression that he can’t see himself as anything other than straight because it doesn’t fit the ideals and expectations he grew up. So when he feels like the love of his life/romantic partner/soulmate is slipping away from him, he attributes that feeling to Shannon’s loss rather than Buck’s, because there’s no way he has romantic feelings for Buck, right? (wrong).
Then we get the pulmonary embolism and Tsunami, and I think these events are what lead Eddie into starting realize he has romantic feelings. But what does he do?? Represses them. I think this is also around the time where he says Buck needs to “move forward” and mentions that’s what his dad told him. I think it’s interesting that he mentions that around that time because I think him starting to realize he has feelings for Buck would bring back all his parents expectations and that’s what causes him to repress his feelings.
Then the Lawsuit happens and this is where Eddie really starts mixing up his feelings for Shannon and Buck. Like the whole “Chris and I miss you and we can’t even talk to you about it.” and when he says “you’re exhausting” and that Buck needs to “suck it up”. While I do think that could be how he genuinely felt about Buck at the time, part of it definitely feels like he’s projecting the things he wants to say to Shannon onto Buck. Like yes Eddie was grieving Shannon, but I also think it might’ve been more exhausting for Eddie to be a single father trying to raise his son after his wife left without a great support system compared to Eddie and Chris not being able to talk to Buck for a bit while still having the rest of the 118 to support them. Like what was it about Buck that made him more exhausting than what Eddie went through with Shannon?? (It’s the fact that Eddie was in love with him, that’s what.) Also even in his anger, we still see the way that Eddie can’t help but be honest/vulnerable with Buck when admits he was arrested. But then Eddie seems to realize that he said that in public in front of the whole team and he backtracks and lies about it. Eventually Eddie forgives him and they have a bit of vulnerable yet somehow sexually charged scene in the kitchen about it.
Moving on to the whole Well/Eddie Begins arc. I think while Buck’s reaction to it says something, it’s Eddie’s implied reaction that’s so interesting to me. In Eddie Begins we see the flashbacks Eddie faces of his time with Shannon, in the army, and with Chris. Yet when Eddie starts drowning, the first thing he hears is Buck’s voice asking “You got a kid?” (from the Earthquake episodes). Followed by a flashback to that scene, followed by several scenes of Eddie, Buck, and Chris all together. Then in one of the flashbacks to Eddie and Buck helping Chris down the fire pole, you hear Eddie say “you’re not just any kid, you’re my kid.” Interesting decision to have Buck in the frame while saying that. I think it was either in that scene, or in the time afterwards that Eddie has a major realization about what Buck means to him. We know that Eddie puts Buck down as Chris’ legal guardian afterwards, but the “why” behind it is so interesting to me.
The next most compelling piece of evidence is the way Eddie acts kind of bitchy to all of Buck’s girlfriends/exes/partners?? Like he never met Abby but he gets all pissed off in the S3 finale, which is a bit understandable considering she’s not a likable character but still. There’s plenty of more evidence about this so I won’t go into it too much.
Anyways, next up is the shooting arc in which the first thing Eddie does after being shot is ask Buck if he’s hurt??? And then when Buck says it should’ve been him we see Eddie get teary eyed. Then later on Eddie tells Buck about the will, not because he just got shot but because he needed Buck to know that Buck was loved, that he was wanted, that he was needed . And then come Eddie’s panic attacks and his breakup with Ana, further proof that he’s just trying to fill a motherly role in Chris’ life. Then we get to see Eddie’s breakdown in S5 and the way he only really gets vulnerable with Buck about it (almost as if he trusts Buck to help piece himself back together).
Next we see Buck’s lightning strike and (temporary) death. Immediately after Buck is stricken, we see Eddie try and pull him up as fast as he can. Then we get Eddie’s “do more!” which I find so fucking fascinating because with Shannon, when she got hit, Eddie let Chim and Hen delay her medical care and sort of just gave up on any chance of saving her. Despite what Hen said about Shannon already being dead when they got there, I doubt Eddie could really grasp that, and he didn’t snap or tell them to do more, he didn’t even fight it. But with Buck, who got struck by fucking lightning??? Whose chances of survival dropped with each minute his heart wasn’t beating?? Eddie’s fighting for him, and wants the doctors to fight for him as well. Then we get the parallel of Buck and Shannon, the way Eddie’s tearing up and can barely even look at Buck???
I think this is where the realization that Eddie is in love with Buck gets shoved in his face, but he shoves it to side so he can focus on Buck getting better. Eddie starts looking for women to date in 6x17, two episodes after Buck meets Natalia. Then when Eddie meets Marisol, Chris encourages him to go out with her and so he does. But deep down a part of him knows he’s in love with Buck. Next, we find out that Chris is “dating” multiple girls at the same time. And Eddie decides that instead of doing it himself, he should have Buck be the one to approach Chris about this (they’re never beating the baby trapping or coparent allegations). And then we find out that Chris is doing it because he thinks all women leave because of Eddie’s misfortune with Shannon (and Ana?). Then Eddie finds out Marisol would’ve been a nun and his catholic guilt resurfaces. I think it brings up a lot of his trauma and causes him to both acknowledge and repress his feelings for Buck. He’s aware of them but he also is trying desperately for them to go away. He also admits that he can’t picture himself doing the deed with Marisol anymore. Then he learns that Buck is dating Tommy (and he could’ve had a chance this whole time???) and Buck is also encouraging him to get back with Marisol. I think he only pursues this relationship because of his repression, Buck’s urging, and the fact that he desperately wants a motherly/female presence in Chris’ life (especially now that he can see it’s affecting Chris’ own relationship with girls and women).
Now we get to Kim. Kim, Kim, Kim. Kim who looks just like Shannon, except for her unique birthmark, her blonde hair, and her blue eyes. Kim who has a job helping people. Kim who bakes for Eddie as a nice gift. Kim who had an adventurous job as an actress before settling down. Kim who’s more akin to Buck personality wise than she is Shannon. Yet despite how much she looks like Shannon, Eddie can’t bring himself to be vulnerable and honest with her. No, it’s Buck who gently coaxes the admission out of Eddie, who implies that Eddie needs to come clean to her. So when he sees Kim (and sees the face of his dead wife who wanted a divorce mixed with the face of the love of his life who only wants what’s best for him) he takes Bucks advice and comes clean about it all. And while what Kim does is batshit insane, she goes about it in such a gentle way that I sincerely doubt Shannon ever would. She has all of Bucks softness and some of his looks and personality too, and so it’s so much easier to look her in the face and think “this is what I could’ve had. this was what I missed out on. this could’ve been the love of my life.” and maybe he can convince himself and everyone around him that he means Shannon, but deep down some part of him knows that it was Buck he was thinking of all along.
Thanks for listening to my ted talk. (sorry for any grammar errors I am so tired and I spent like an hour and a half writing this)

“When can we see her?” his voice shakes, his whole body feeling smaller than it is, as he cuddles into Eddie’s chest.
“Uh, soon, okay? How about, while you’re at school tomorrow, I’ll go find out if she can have visitors yet, alright? And then we’ll see.” he leans down to kiss Christopher’s head, arms squeezing around him. “She’ll be fine. She loves you so much, and she’ll be back before you know it.”
“I miss her.” he sobs, silent tears soaked up by Eddie’s shirt, and suddenly Eddie’s back in Texas, holding a little five-year-old, who’s crying for his mommy, not understanding why she’s gone, why he can’t hug her, why she can’t be the one to tuck him in. Eddie hated seeing him like this, and he hated Shannon for doing this to him, to both of them. He also hated himself for how she must’ve struggled all alone, Chris barely recognizing his dad when they talked on video chat, and Eddie being a stranger to him when he came back – and that was all his own doing. It’s all such a mess, and they’ve just been on the right track to fix it, and now… Now who the fuck knows what’s going to happen.

So your opinion on Sokeefe and Fitz like YES EXACTLY. .... What are your opinions on the contents of Keefe's character itself?
Tehe thank you <3
I'm SO glad that post was well received, because I was sweating BULLETS.
To preface this post, I must admit I have been a Fitz girlie since day one. A lot of my issues with Keefe stem from the WAY he is written, and the way the narrative favors him and justifies him. Fitz comes into play, because Fitz and Keefe are used as narrative devices to contrast one another. However that was not always the case. In the earlier books, when they were still close friends, they agreed on a lot and seemed to know each other well. And then BOOM- Neverseen hits, Keefe is super reckless (even if his heart was in the right place) and is immediately forgiven for it. He became a fan favorite, and thus the decline in Fitz's original character begins. Shannon had to ruin Fitz's character to prop Keefe's up in the later books-- which comes off as supremely lazy to me. And I just cannot get over the complete character assassination of Fitz. Which again, not really a KEEFE issue, but more so my beef with the writing and execution.
That was a giant preface. I'm sorry. anway-
In previous posts about Keefe, I've gone over the way he often airs out and announces Sophie's emotions to the room, and he uses the fact that he can feel her emotions to get her to share secrets with him that she otherwise wouldn't. This is never seen as a bad thing, but when Fitz- who is not privy to Sophie's emotions- asks her how she's feeling or for her thoughts, it's suddenly 'invasive' and 'pushy'.
I've also gone over how Keefe lets Ro, his bodyguard, just verbally insult and berate Fitz, his supposed best friend, and never comes to his defense. Keefe- while consumed with his own issues, is often dismissive of others' issues. Which I don't blame him for- but he's never held accountable for it.
With quotes like (and I'm paraphrasing) "Yeah but you get to go back to perfect Vacker Land when all is said and done"- this was directed at Fitz when Fitz was trying to bring perspective and comfort. I believe this happened in either Neverseen or Lodestar. He also refuses to relate to Fitz or meet him in the middle on any issues ever. When Fitz points out that they both have traitors in the family, Keefe is quick to scoff and dismiss this olive branch.
Another moment is when he tells Tam that the role of "Mommy/daddy issues is taken" and in inadvertent ways, pokes fun at Tam's coping mechanisms. in front of everyone.
And then you get moments, like in Flashback, where Fitz directly tells Sophie he doesn't feel like he's allowed to be hurt the way he is- because he doesn't have it 'as bad' as other characters. <- huh wonder where that comes from.
Just not a great look imo.
I am also just really tired of the 'I use humor to hide how broken I am' archetype often found in literature. And while it may be relatable to many people, and a reason why he is a favorite- I'm just tired of seeing it, and I think it could have been done better. But it is a middle grade series, so of course it's a bit dumbed down.
I also get annoyed when Keefe butts in to any moment concerning Sophie because he just HAS to get a word in. He HAS to prove why he 'Knows Foster best'. All of the characters do this to an extent, but he does it the most and it's like- STAWP PLEASE.
Keefe is also just... blatantly mean in his own POV? Especially towards Fitz. He calls him boringly perfect, mentions how he wants to punch him, internally agrees with Ro's jabs etc-
and the other half of his POV is just ruminating on his sucky life and the 'cute worry line between Foster's brows'
and maybe I'm not being fair to him. Because LISTEN- I don't want him to be a perfect character. My issue is that he's obviously NOT perfect, but the narrative never makes him out to be imperfect. It runs circles around itself justifying him and his actions- but doesn't offer the same grace to any of the other characters besides Sophie.

Headlights with a Red String (1/?)
(Unedited) (Soulmate Au!, Red String Au!, Mentions of past relationships Robby/Sam & Robby/Tory, Kinda angst because it’s Robby, Robby being negative as hell because of his mom.) (Will Cross-Post on AO3)
Robby Keene learned one thing as a young child, something that stuck to him his whole life. It was something small that only stuck to him because it worked. Most people didn’t even give it a second thought. But people like Robby needed that one thing to keep living. The one thing he could hold on to that always seemed to get him out of every situation.
Suck it up and smile like you mean it even when you don’t.
When Robby was six he watched his mom scratch at her pinky uncontrollably while sitting on their crappy couch. His tiny eyes followed her odd movements, watching her roll her eyes for a minute or two. Nails working on her pale skin until it was pink and red. She chewed on her lip as she almost seemed to claw at her skin. Her freshly manicured nails dig into the flesh of her finger like no tomorrow. It was almost like she was trying to rip away at something her could not see but she could.
“Mommy what are you doing? Does your finger hurt?” Robby said quickly as he rounded the corner of the couch and climbed up. Sitting next to him mom. She sighed before briefly stopping her assault on her digit. Looking over at him she gave only a half smile to him.
“Sometimes mommies finger hurts because of her red string is all.”
Robby blinked at her with his big hazel-green eyes. He has no idea what his mommy was talking about. He looked down at her finger and saw no such thing. No red string attached to her finger.
“Are you playing a game? I don’t see a string. I want to play!” His voice was filled with childlike wonder.
“No Sweety it’s not a game. Mommy has a red string attached to her finger that is attached to her soulmate. Only me and my soulmate can see it and feel it. When you turn ten you will get one too.”
“Mommy what’s a soulmate?” Robby asked in wonder. The word sounded so weird to him. It sounded cool, kinda funny too. Soulmate.
Shannon looked over to her son and watched as he looked up at her in glee. Blond locks pushed to the side behind her ear. Sighing she looked at the boy replying back in a slightly sad tone “ A soulmate is someone special. Someone who is made to be with you, a perfect match. They stick with you forever. They love you, care for you, trust you and forever support you. You can make a life with them.” Looking down at the hand she was previously scratching at.
A sad expression crossed her face “When you turn ten a red string will appear on your pinky. Only you will be able to see it along with your soulmate. It wraps around your finger and connects to your soulmate’s finger, somewhere out there is your soulmate. Your stings connect. When your close…there is a wonderful feeling and you will just know that person is close.”
Robby nodded as he looked at his own hands in awe. His eyes sparkled, his tiny hands where bare if any string at the moment. Now he was excited to get his very own string. He wanted a new friend! His mommy made it sound so good to have a “soulmate” and he wondered how he would meet them. How they where, would they like him, would he like them. So many questions flooded his mind all at once.
“Is daddy your soulmate mommy?” He said out loud wondering if that was why he was here. That had to be the case. If soulmates where made for each other then daddy had to be mommy’s soulmate!
“No honey he’s not… mommy just settled.” She spoke with no feeling. All emotion was void from her voice as she spoke. Her eyes where drawn away, staring at the wall like she was almost hypnotized by it. It was nothing but a blank scratched up wall in front of her.
Robby felt cold all of a sudden.
“Mommy never meet her soulmate. Sometimes you don’t meet your soulmate so you just settle like mommy did.”
That was the day he would look back on and remember randomly. It was something he never forgot and stuck to him. It was constantly at the back of his mind. Eating away at him as he started to grow older as time went by.
That’s why when he turned ten and his red string appeared, his mind was other places.
He never talked to his mom about it, ever. It was a closed away conversation that was never discussed between the two.
He was settled in the idea of just “settling” at some point.
Soulmates where overrated anyway.
At least that was what he felt like by the time he was in highschool. His dating life was average if not slightly lacking. He didn’t date until his senior year and so far that had been a nightmare. Sam wasn’t his soulmate by a long shot and she seemed to treasure her red string. He knew that even if they did stay together besides the whole Miguel thing that she would ultimately leave him. Her dream of finding her soulmate was way to big to let go of it for him.
She wasn’t willing to “settle” like he would for her.
Tory was the second girl he had ever dated, she was his backbone for the longest time. Their relationships was wonderful for months as they enjoyed each others time. They spent hours talking and hanging out. For a while it felt like they where a real couple. Tory made him feel so good, so cared about and loved. But soon enough after months of dating they both realized that they where better as friends.
They realized that the relationship was more of a friends with benefits. More best friends that occasionally fucked every now and then. It was a peaceful break up, both staying friends.
Tory didn’t care about strings just as much as Robby did. She was forced on settling as well. She said her string has been long for a while, she never felt it get tight or start to shrink. Unlike Robby she did think it was over all neat to read about. She told him all kind of facts about the red strings of fate attached to their fingers.
Some people said it burned when their soulmate was close. Some said they could see some kind of pulse go though the think thread.
“You know one chick, during WW2 said that she felt her soulmate get shot on the battlefield. Turns out she meet him because she was a field nurse. She claimed she knew he was a soldier at that very moment. Weird right.” Her voice was filled with skepticism as she read though a article on her phone. Her eyes trailing up and over to look at him
“Yeah sure I guess….” He didn’t bother to look over at her and kept scrolling though his own phone.
He had never felt anything like what Tory described. Maybe at some point he felt a small tug but that was all. Nothing serious enough to grab his attention ever happened so he just put it to the side. On rare occasions would look at the string. When he was awake at night laying in bed, to awake to fall asleep. Her would trace the thread with his index finger for a while. It felt a little warm at times, sometimes it was slightly cold. It swayed and moved in the wind when he was outside.
When he was younger he thought he could knot it up but he couldn’t. The red string magical unknotted itself and hung limp on his finger. Looping around the pinky in a vice but hanging gently in the air. Deep down in his heart he did wonder about the other person on the other end. Did they feel the same way he did about the stupid string? Did they try to find him? He didn’t try to find them.
He felt just a tad bit of guilt on that part. Maybe they WHERE looking for him by now. Most soulmates where the same age if not a few years younger or older then each other. It was rare to be decades apart.
He would throws his hand down onto his blanket and roll over. Stuffing his face into the pillow and try to simply not think to hard about it. Choosing to try and sleep to block out those thoughts. It was like a unending cycle for the Keene boy. Unending loneliness and a negative outlook on just about everything that came to mind with soulmates.
His attitude only changed a little when he talked to Daniel.
“You know I never thought I would meet Amanda you know. When I was younger I was so excited about dating just about anyone. I knew Ali wasn’t the one right off the bat but I liked her so much that it didn’t really matter. But then we broke up and I didn’t seem to matter anymore. It was sad but still, I fell back on the idea that there was still someone I was fated to be with out there. Then I meet Amanda and it was just different. I still to this day can’t describe how it felt when I first laid eyes on her. Our strings pulled us together and it was just like magic.” He said looking to the sunset outside the dojo fence.
They both sat on the deck of dojo, watching the Sun slowly set into the hills.
Robby felt strange in that moment and he couldn’t help but ask “ So in the long road, it was worth it not to settle?” His eyes looked in the same direction as Daniel’s.
Daniel raised a brow and a looks of sadness crossed his face for only a split second.
“It was definitely worth it Robby.”
They both sat there for a good hour just watching the sun go down.
Maybe just maybe he could wait a bit longer to see what happened.
He still had time to see if his soulmate every made a appearance.

153 for BuddieShannon:
---
Buck feels a bit embarrassed.
“Okay, yeah. That makes sense. Sorry.”
“Actually…” Eddie says. “I mean… How is she?”
Now it’s Buck’s turn to raise an eyebrow.
“Eddie.”
“I just want to know!” Eddie protests. “She made it pretty clear that she only wants me around as the baby’s father and Christopher’s father, so I’m keeping the conversation to them. But I am worried about her, Buck.”
Buck sighs. “She seems down. I mean, I don’t know her. But she seems lonely. She assumed I’d hate her.”
“Hate her?” Eddie frowns.
Buck nods. “Yeah. Maybe you should talk to her.”
“I don’t think she wants to talk to me, Buck. She asked for a divorce.”
Buck shrugs. “I think she needs a friend. I mean… Obviously that’s a lot to ask of you. I’m not saying… You just asked how she is.”
“I did.” Eddie nods. He sighs. “I’m seeing her soon. To tell Chris about the baby.”
The implication that Eddie will talk to her then goes unspoken.
And for some strange reason, Buck finds himself really hoping it goes well for them. Strange, because he’s not just hoping for Eddie. He’s hoping for Shannon, too.
iii.
Eddie drives Chris to Shannon’s apartment on the day she is officially in her second trimester.
Truth be told, he’s terrified of telling Christopher about the baby. Chris has already been asking why his mom has been around less and less lately. He knows it’s not just the baby they have to talk to him about. And the thing is, Eddie knows his kid. He knows that the same sweet, precious softness that affords Christopher such intense joy can also result in such acute hurt. He remembers the way he wept in those early days of Shannon being gone, when Eddie went from a curiosity he was getting to know, to more or less a stranger. How will Chris take the news that his mother isn’t going to be around as much, and that there will be a new baby? Eddie worries about breaking his little heart.
They park the truck and ride the elevator up to Shannon’s floor.
“Is Mommy going to come back to our house tonight?” Chris asks as the elevator rises.
“No, buddy,” Eddie says. “She’s not.”
“Why?” Chris whines.
Eddie wonders if Shannon gets this line of questioning, when it’s just the two of them. Does he feel like he can ask her?
“We’re going to talk about that today, okay?” Eddie offers.
“Okay,” Christopher grumbles.
Shannon answers the door thirty seconds or so after Eddie knocks. Eddie notices the change in her immediately. She’s wearing a loose floral skirt and pink shirt made of a soft, ribbed fabric, tucked into it. It sits comfortably over what he is noticing for the first time; a rounded stomach that looks like more than just that she had a big dinner. It looks like a baby bump. Like the very beginnings of one.
Eddie doesn’t know why it catches him so off guard. Of course he knew this would happen. He knows how it works. But… But by the time Eddie left, last time, she wasn’t really showing. By the time he came back, Christopher was overdue and she had to be induced. He never got to see anything in between, really.
Which was his fault, of course.
“Hi, baby!” Shannon greets Chris, crouching to hug him.
“Hi, Mom,” Chris replies, a little subdued. He hugs her back, but his usual spirit isn’t there.
Shannon notices.
“Everything okay, Chris?”
He nods. “Uh huh.”
He walks around her, off towards the Lego set he knows she keeps for him in her living room. Jeez. Where’d their kid’s manners go?
Shannon looks at Eddie. She opens her mouth to ask a question but catches him staring at her instead. At her abdomen. She follows his gaze with her eyes.
“Uh, yeah,” she mutters. As if Eddie has spoken. “This just happened yesterday morning. It was hardly there, and then I woke up and it was there.”
“You look good,” Eddie says quickly. “I just… I’m sorry. I knew it was real, obviously, it’s just…”
“They’re right here?” She offers. She lifts a hand to the small bump.
“Yeah,” Eddie says. “That.”
Their baby. Right there. Real.
“Maybe we should tell him before he notices?” Shannon asks.
Eddie nods. How did he not notice when he hugged her? He supposes kids aren’t always observants of their parents in that way. Chris never notices when Eddie cuts his hair. Not that that’s the same.
Why is Eddie’s brain moving so fast?
Shannon walks towards the living room and Eddie follows after her, kicking off his shoes. Shannon sits in an armchair and Eddie takes the couch, right by where Chris is pulling out his Lego. His hands are sort of shaking, so he sits on them.
“Hey, Chris,” Shannon says. “Can Dad and I talk to you for a sec?”
Chris looks up at them.
“Do I have to stop playing?”
“Just for a little bit,” Eddie says.
Chris sighs.
Okay, attitude?
He climbs to his feet and practically trudges towards the couch to sit beside Eddie.
“Your Dad and I have good news,” Shannon says, smiling. “News I think you’ll be excited about.”
“What news?” Chris asks.
“Well,” Shannon continues. “You are going to be a big brother.”
Chris blinks. He looks sort of like a buffering symbol on Netflix when the Wi-Fi is bad.
“What do you mean a big brother?” He asks.
“I mean, I’m going to have a baby,” Shannon says. “In December.”
“A baby?” Chris asks. He sounds skeptical.
“A baby,” Eddie confirms. “Isn’t that cool? A little brother or sister to play with?”

if you are willing to share, what is one of your most favorite dark fics??
well... normally i wouldn't entertain the idea of posting my faves on here bc you know... it can get depraved but honestly i don't care anymore so let's do this.
i know you're most likely looking to know my fave 9-1-1 ones but i'll also add a few from other fandoms.
disclaimer: i will not tolerate any hate for any of these fics i'm about to say I like/love. My tastes have always been depraved, and will continue to be depraved.. That said, I will say to heed the tags, and mind the trigger warnings!!!
These are in no particular order btw, now without further ado, here are some of my faves that i've read.
9-1-1 FICS:
Morning's Echo ★ BuckMaddie ★ 3K ★ ➢ this is an incest fic. they're only two years apart in age in this one. I think the dynamic was very interesting, and i defo wish this had been longer, let me know more about their past and how they became entangled like this.
The Long Way Home ★ Buck-centric ★ 100K ★ sequel here ★ ➢ during the tsunami, Buck is kidnapped by a sexual trafficking ring and forced into sex work. this is basically his journey from when he's kidnapped to when he's rescued, with some glimpses of how the 118 handles it all, multiple pov's. there's things I love about this fic and things I don't, but ultimately, I would consider it a fave because I really couldn't put it down. I think I read all of it in like... a day or two.
The Way You Did (Once Upon a Dream) ★ Buddie ★ 2K ★ ➢ Sleeping Beauty curse. Buck is in a coma, or in a deep sleep, or however it worked in sleeping beauty, and Eddie has to take it too far to wake him up. the writing is really good, and i am still awaiting a sequel so we can see the aftermath. (rape/noncon)
will you hit me where it hurts (i won't feel anything otherwise) ★ Buddie ★ 18K ★ ➢ Buck is a serial killer. Eddie has an encounter with him. very interesting and well written. I don't wanna say anything more than this lest I spoil anything.
still ★ Buddie ★ 9K ★ ➢ Eddie steps into a trigger. Has to stay still. He and Buck grapple with the fact he might die that day.
hurt locker ★ Buddie ★ 77K ★ ➢ I personally don't really consider this a dark!fic per se, but I still think it's emotionally heavy and packs a punch at times. Buck and Eddie are childhood friends, and when Shannon gets pregnant, Buck enlists along with Eddie.
Broken Like Me ★ BuckBobby ★ 15K ★ ➢ Buck and Bobby meet a year before Buck is assigned to the 118, and neither of them have good coping mechanisms. I genuinely really enjoyed this fic, and how it explored their dynamic had they met before Bobby was Buck's boss, and it's take on Buck's 1.0 days.
Eight Drinks a-Roofied ★ Buck-Centric ★ 21K ★ ➢ shows how Buck's gotten roofied eight times. what can I say, it was a fun read for me.
desire, i'm hungry (I hope you feed me) ★ BuckMaddie ★ 5K ★ ➢ Maddie has never had an orgasm. Buck is the one to change that. Very hot fic.
the devil wants to fuck me ★ BuckJosh★ 4K ★ ➢ Josh blackmails Buck into sex.
Get Down, Make Love ★ BuckBobby★ 5K ★ ➢ A/B/O fic. Bobby and Buck are dosed with a drug that induces their heat/rut to kick in. They fuck it out. s1 era.
Trust me, Darlin’ ★ Buck/Dean, Buddie ★ 77K ★ ➢ this was honestly just a really fun read. a 911/spn crossover fic where dean "kidnaps" buck. they have hot ambulance sex. very very fun fic overall.
SUPERNATURAL FICS:
With Understanding ★ Destiel ★ 427K ★ ➢ Sam is dead. Dean's told that Castiel Novak is his soulmate by Anna (the angel that rescued him from hell in this universe) and he decides to kidnap Castiel so they can meet and thus know they will share a heaven. this is genuienly my favorite dark fic. hands down one of the best i've ever read.
They Think I'm Possessed ★ JohnDean, Wincest ★ 27K ★ ➢ John decides to make Dean a replacement for Mary. Dean becomes Sam's mommy, and John's partner. He's essentially John's housewife and Sam's mother. I don't wanna give anything away but this was literally so well written and I read it all in one sitting, I could not put it down, it was so disturbing and depraved and I loved every second of it.
Ninety One Whiskey ★ Destiel ★ 401K ★ ➢ Castiel and Dean are both soldiers in WW2 in the same infantry. Dean is a medic, and if i remember correctly, Castiel is a sergeant. very well written, very slow burn, very good. haven't read it in years though, i just remember it really being good.
Fever Where You Run To ★ JohnDean ★ 3,9K ★ ➢ John gets hit with a lust spell / sex pollen. He either has to fuck it out or die. Dean offers himself up. (John has been having inappropriate thoughts about dean for years at this point, though)
mother is pretending ★ Wincest ★ 19K ★ ➢ basically them developing a mommy kink in the course of season 2. i am not into mommy kink, but i absolutely loved this fic. that's saying something.
because you want to die for love ★ Wincest ★ 27K ★ ➢ Sam joins Dean in heaven after the finale of s15. Dean slowly but surely starts to accept that he can want and have Sam. Originally I wasn't gonna but this in the list but there's just two scenes that I was like giggling, kicking my feet, twirling my hair all teehee. So good. Very well written, too.
ONE DIRECTION FICS:
The Truth Shall Set You Free ★ Ziam ★ 34K ★ ➢ They're lawyers and enemies and they have to solve a crime together.
Birds in Gilded Cages ★ Larry ★ 157K ★ ➢ Harry got kidnapped as a teen and forced into sex work. Louis becomes a client. they fall in love. brutal and dark but i routinely read the last chapter bc I love certain scenes in that one.
Love Will Tear Us Apart ★ Larry ★ 103K ★ ➢ I don't remember much about this one, I just remembered really liking it and how it showed that you can make mistakes and be flawed and still come together and forgive and be happy together.
Run Like the Devil ★ Larry ★ 139K ★ ➢ Harry is a demon. Louis is a hunter. Can I make it any more obvious?
at last, at last ★ Larry ★ 41K ★ ➢ Harry is born into a cult in a post-apocalyptic world, and Louis is the leader of the rebel group tasked with the mission of shutting them down. Together, they make a rather effective team.
once upon a dream ★ Larry ★ 33K ★ sequel here ★ ➢ Louis is psychic and gets caught in the middle of a murder investigation led by FBI Special Agent Harry Styles.
Landslide ★ Larry ★ 143K ★ ➢ a true fave of mine. I also routinely reread this one. Harry goes undercover to try and uncover what's going on on Louis' farm. Louis is the cult leader. It's so interesting and well written.
A Tear in the Sky ★ OT4 ★ 27K ★ ➢ Niall Horan is a consultant on cases that need a personal touch, someone to get close to prey and predators alike to discover the truth, and he's eager for the chance to work with old acquaintance Zayn Malik at Station Twelve. His attitude shifts when he discovers what waits for him is more than just three boys caught in the midst of a cult. A tight deadline presses on him to complete his report, yet the more he learns about the unique dynamic between these three, the more he starts to question his own sanity. Professionalism is hard to hold onto as the case and Niall's mind begin to unravel.
GLEE FICS:
A Political Romance / A Legal Romance ★ Klaine ★ 119K / 216K ★ ➢ Blaine has this darkness in him, a power of sorts. He sees Kurt and instantly falls for him and decides that Kurt will be his. Hard to explain this one but it did have a chokehold on me when I first read it as a wee teenager first discovering fanfiction. 10/10!
Dead in Ohio ★ Puckurt ★ 93K ★ ➢ zombie apocalypse. Kurt and Puck are stuck with each other and they fall in love. kinda enemies to lovers but also kinda not. this is a fic that I have not reread in years due to the actor who plays puck. but it's still a good fic and I wanted to include it for that reason.
#fanfics#you asked for dark so i found the darkest ones :)#i'm sure i'm missing some but these are all the ones i could remember or still had in my bookmarks

The parallels. The freaking parallels.
Watching the episode Careful What You Wish For and the scene when Eddie basically re-proposes to Shannon because Chris needs his mommy and Eddie thinks she’s pregnant. When she finally tells him that shes not pregnant his response kills me. That man says “it doesn’t change a thing.”
It doesn’t change a thing. Just like when Buck comes out (which we all know is a chekhov’s gun sort of situation.
The only difference here is the Shannon is brave enough to immediately tell him how she feels and to change their relationship in that moment.
With Buck we can study the film and see the disappointment, but he doesn’t say anything.
Season 8 is going to kill me, but it’s also keeping me alive
#911#eddie diaz#shannon diaz#evan buckley#buck#911 rewatch#I guess I’m going to make it a habit to post about my thoughts as I rewatch this show#I haven’t seen these episodes since they first aired and I’ve forgotten so many details

Cruel Intentions
Girlxgirl, breakup, toxic, in the sdj universe but not explicitly.
The mean girl Shannon Willis, belongs to the very cool writer friend of mine, @ammolitestone ~. Wrote this on the fly in my notes.
~~
May had half a mind to hang up the phone. But she was curious, honestly, curious to hear what type of bullshit Shannon would come up with next. She was pretty sure the girl had a mental problem, much like the girl on the screen - the wicked and sociopathic Kathyrn Muertil.
Feeling and had no other option, she pushed *answer*.
"Yeah."
"May!" Shannon's shrill voice answered. "Why'd you storm out like that?"
"Who you with?" May asked.
"What- what are you talking about? Who am I with?"
"Yes." She said, "I want to know who you're playing in front of."
Shannon looked tentatively at her parents, who each gave a worried expression. She mentally cursed the woman, making her embarrassed like this.
Shannon turned away, "I-I'm at my parents."
May simply hummed. "Goodbye."
"No, no, no! Wait!" Shannon said.
"I don't wanna hear you give automatic messages to me. You better use your real voice or find somewhere private."
Shannon pursed her lips before putting a hand over her phone screen, looking back at her parents. "We need a moment..."
They nodded in understanding, walking into another room, when she was sure they were far enough away she hissed over the phone. "What the fuck is wrong with you, huh!?"
"There she is."
"You embarrassed me at the party, did you know that?"
"By what? Walking away?" May asked.
"Um, YES! You were a plus one for me as V.I.P and are my girlfriend. If you thought we weren't being watched, you're dead wrong!" Shannon said, "The internet is now swarming with clips of you leaving the ballroom! Within the final three hours of the day, it'll be in print on magazines."
May was grinning, "That's crazy." She said, her glee peeking through.
"And because of *what*? Something an old fart said? About something he *supposedly* heard from me?" She said.
"You think I don't know how you are, Shannon?" May asked blandly, "I knew you'd burn me eventually. I just didn't know I'd have to hear it out of another person's mouth... but you weren't exactly the secretive were you? No, even those need attention."
Shannon started to curse, then made a noise of frustration. May could practically see her ivory cheeks turning a blotchy pink.
The woman then let out a low growl, "You know...what just *gets* me about you? You think that you're just so above it all!" She spat, "You got with me so you could get revenge on your ex, right? You think I didn't know you were trying to *use* me?!"
"It's only because you could use me. It was basically a transaction, Shannon." On the other end, she made another indignant sound. "You wanted the cute goth trophy girlfriend with the cute poor job so everyone could praise you on being such a 'fluid queen' and you could call out the naysayers in your instagram comments like a white knight."
Shannon was quiet. And May almost hated herself thinking about her familiar pink lipped pout.
"We're both users, Shannon." May continued, "You're just upset you aren't the only one with the cards."
"...I could ruin your life you know. Blackmail, slander, you name it. You'll be blacklisted everywhere not only in jobs but in *life* too."
That sparked real upset in May. How *dare* she threaten her? "What do you even want from me, Shannon?" She hissed, "You could have anyone you want. Rich or poor. Do you get off from having peons around or what?"
"What if I do? Then what? You think you're *better* than me? You were *nothing* before I came forth. Ian too!" She spat, "You would've just been some instathot everyone pitied and talked about your cow udders to make you feel better!"
"You used to like them, *baby* girl."
Shannon sputtered over the line, "Sh-shut up!"
"Careful, or mommy and daddy will hear you."
She made and indignant sound, and something that resembled a sob. May actually *laughed*, which made it worse.
"Don't tell me you're crying!"
"...I hate you! I hate you, I HATE YOU!"
She didn't even register the rampant footsteps of her parents coming behind her.
"I guess that's it then." May sighed. And it really was. It could mean waking up to her DMs full of hate mail, or the gun of a crazed fan to her face. But anything would've been better than being attached to this headcase.
On the screen, Kathyrn's eulogy for Sebastian was interrupted. Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve rose triumphantly over the slow motion scene. There was no other dialogue but the speaking looks on Meurtil's person, who frowned and shed a tear as everyone silently reprimanded her.
Over the receiver, Shannon's sobs along with the consoling whispers of her parents could be heard.
"Goodbye, Shannon."

You know how the Eddie & Shannon flashback in 7x07 where they are in bed never seemed to fit because at the time of the Shannon seeing Christopher conversation Shannon was very strong in her feelings about them sleeping together instead of communication being a huge issue and Eddie's bedroom being the current iteration, I had a thought.
It's not just one memory, it's two but all set in the current time because seeing Kim has Eddie remembering/seeing Shannon in the present.
Memory 1: Inviting Shannon over to talk after Christopher is accepted into the Durand School and they ended up in bed. "And kinda unexpected." "Was it though?" "I mean, you had me come over here when no one else was home so maybe not." Memory 2: Eddie telling Shannon he’s ready to let her see Christopher and based on their previous conversation, sleeping together wouldn’t have happened before that conversation (maybe after though). “So, I, uh, I spoke with Christopher.” “About me?” “About Santa.” “Did you tell him he wasn’t real?” “Of course not. I told him that Santa could make miracles happen, even bring Mommy home for Christmas.” “Really?” “Yeah, it’s all he’s wanted for Christmas. And I think it’s time that Mommy came back in his life.” “Yeah?” “Yeah. I can’t think of a better gift.”
#eddie diaz#911 abc#911 7x07#911 season 7#911 season 7 spoilers#shannon diaz#did i transcribe the scene because i want to gif it later? yes...#also the way they are like constantly touching hands is kinda adorable

Christopher Watts
Christopher Lee Watts murdered his family in Frederick Colorado United States. He killed his pregnant wife Shannon Cathryn Watts and their kids, 4 year old Bella and 3 year old Celeste. The reason behind the killing is that he had an affair with another woman and he wanted to leave his family. The woman Chris was having an affair with was his coworker Nichole Kessinger. She claimed that Chris told her that he was
in a process of divorcing his wife and that they were seperated.
The killing process
Chris had told his wife Shannon that their marriage was over and her response to that was something like ‘Well, you’re not gonna see the kids again’ and that led Chris to strangle his wife to death in her bed on the 13th
of August 2018. According to him she
did not fight back. He had rolled Shannon’s body in their bed sheets and
put it on the floor of the backseat of his truck, he then placed his two daughters, Bella and Celeste, in the backseat. He also revealed that his 4 year old daughter Bella saw Chris preparing to move Shannon’s body. He told Bella that ‘mommy does not feel good’.
He confessed that he did not plan to kill his two daughters but still drove out to his work site around 40 miles away from their home.
He then proceeded to suffocate both of his daughters before dropping their bodies in separate oil tanks on the same date as their mother was killed. He then proceeded to bury his wife’s body in the ground nearby the tanks that he later confessed in prison.
The discovery of the bodies
Nicole Atkinson was a very good friend to Shannon and was the first person to get concerned about Shannon. Later that day Atkinson becomes worried that she had not heard from Shannon. She says “I called her and texted her several times”. “I knew she had an doctor’s appointment that morning because she is pregnant. She didn’t show up for it…and I was even more concerned”. Shannon Watts was reported missing around 1:40 p.m.
Atkinson then calls the police who does a welfare check. Shannon’s belongings were found at the house such as keys, phone and purse. According to the news stations Chris had told them that “She said she was going to a friend's house with the kids and that’s the last thing I heard, and that was it. It was very vague”.
When the Colorado Bureau of Investigation issues an Endangered Missing Alert, Chris talks to Denver’s ABC affiliate and pleads for their return: “Shannon, Bella, Celeste, if you’re out there, just come back, like if somebody has her, just please bring her back, I need to see everybody, I need to see everybody, again, this house is not complete without anybody here. Please bring them back”.
On the 15th of August 2018 Chris fails a polygraph test and admits to his father Ronnie, to killing his wife, falsely claiming that the reason he killed her was because she suffocated both their daughters.
Shannon’s, Bella’s and Celeste’s bodies were found on the 16th of August 2018.
On August 21 2018 Chris was charged with three counts of first-degree charges for victims being 12 or younger. He also faces another count for the unlawful termination of a pregnancy, plus three counts of tampering with a body. A total of nine charges.
On November 6th 2018 Chris appeared in court, pleading guilty to all nine criminal counts. Shannon’s family requests that the death penalty to to be sought.

this is completely untrue. i feel like instead of actually encountering a show that is completely surface level you have just decided to see it as that even if it makes no sense. with the whole tommy not dressing up thing, that is literally clearly written to contrast with eddie who did dress up. buck has a very obvious face of disappointment. but because people who ship bt don't want that they try to act like the show is actually real life where there would be some practical explanation for why he didn't when the writers could have obviously had tommy dress up with buck if they wanted. there is literally no reason to write that if not to show some sort of incompatability in their relationship, especially compared to buck's with eddie.
just because 911 is not a scorsese movie does not mean that you are supposed to take everything a character says at face value. you guys don't seem to understand that writers enjoy writing stories with complexity. tim minear has literally written for american horror story and decided to do an entire vertigo storyline (regardless of whether general audiences got the reference).
with eddie this logic is even more baffling because literally all of his storylines, in fact his entire character is based on repression and therefore his true feelings are often hidden until he has some sort of outburst. something 911 does a lot is parallel the emergencies with what is happening in the characters lives. in the episode in which eddie first meets kim there is literally an emergency about a man trying to kidnap women to be the "mommy" to his child. when shannon came back in season 2 there were multiple moments where it was made clear that eddie may just see shannon as christopher's mother rather than a partner for him. he literally had to look for a "sign" to re-propose to her which was a possible pregnancy (he also refers to her as mommy twice lmao). also, the entire speech about life being like drowning in chocolate made it obvious that eddie is trying to force himself to do something he does not find very pleasant but is trying to convince himself it's fine.
cut to the kim storyline in season 7, kim herself is the one who says "i guess she was the love of your life" to which eddie, after a pause, responds "i think she was.... yeah, though i'm not sure i knew at the time". from everything we know about their relationship this is not the truth (shannon literally wanted a divorce) and in this dialogue there is a huge amount of uncertainty. so, no this storyline with kim is not just to show us that shannon was in fact the love of eddie's life, but rather that this is what he has (only after her death) decided to tell himself.
i feel like some people are using a backwards logic with this show where they think about what it "should" be or is capable of becoming and so completely ignore the show consistently showing us that yes they do in fact write somewhat complex storylines. taking in and interpreting what is actually happening on screen (the script, performances, and cinematography) is not "reading into things" it's just being an active viewer. nothing i've written above is something i've projected or made up, i just paid attention.
(not to mention the two truths and a lie scene where we find out marisol has never tried smores, a food chris remembers having with his mom, and then eddie jokingly says "we could turn around and leave her now" like.... that was a future mommy interview lmao)
the reason I can recognize canon v fanon is that I watched Scorsese and Nolan movies but when i'm watching 911 I know I'm not watching a Scorsese or Nolan movie.
I know it sounds dumb but this year i realized how many people don't know they're not watching Shutter Island or Inception and they try to apply BigMovie logic to written-in-5-days WeeWoo show episodes.
this means if the show explicitly tells you a character is happy or a relationship is going well you're not supposed to infer they're actually miserable and on the verge of a breakup because they're wearing blue and subtextually blue means unhappy and also they're eating pasta and this means the break up is past-a due.
I love doing it and writing metas and speculating but I know it's fanon and there's a 90% chance that's not what the show means so i'm not gonna be disappointed if my meta doesn't get confirmed.
i'm not saying 911 doesn't have subtext, i'm saying they probably don't use it to deny explicit canon because most people won't pick up on it. and if they went with the kind of theories we come up with on here 90% of the audience would be blindsided and think "where the hell is this coming from".
when you're at the movies sometimes the curtains are shown to be blue but you're supposed to understand they're red and it's actually a dream because the character is always wearing sunglasses. but I don't think that kind of brain power is required to watch and understand abc procedural show n.4636367 airing at 8 pm on thursdays.
