Ruby is a demi-god! Her father is a simple farmer and her mother is a goddess of freedom, hunting, and exploring ( @silvrkill​ )

She grows up on the farm, happy as can be. But she has a wanderlust to go out and see the world.

She leaves home when she’s 16, after learning to fight.

She fights with a spear gifted to her by her father. It was her mother’s.

Ruby doesn’t know what happened to her mother. She remembers her, she knows her. But one day she left and never came home.

She travels alone for a while until she meets Jaune ( @volarent​ ). The two travel together and its because of him that she learns her status as a demi-god.

Her father never told her before she left, but she and Jaune came back to ask and he told them the truth.

Ruby travels to help people, but also to maybe find her mom. If she’s a god, she has to be alive out there somewhere right?

Ruby’s main demi-god ability is speed. She can dash around at high speeds, leaving a small flurry of rose petals in her wake.

     he could feel her wilt, that of a rose in a storm, and he let out a quiet sigh. ren knew she had been holding everything in, pretending she was fine, acting brave and courageous when in truth she was crumbling inside. same as everyone else, but more. the hand on her shoulder moved to her upper arm, and he rubbed his thumb in small circles to let her know he was there to help.

‘i know,’ he murmured, keeping his voice soft so as to not feel like he was taking this from her. ‘for him to show up again in this, for the disaster that happened … we couldn’t have avoided it. i’ve been angry, incredibly angry, but in truth it’s not something we can blame ourselves for. one day, one day … he will be but a distant memory.’

Ruby had always been one for physical contact. Her loved hand holding, and hugs, and little touches here and there. It was part of how she showed affection, and one of the biggest ways for her to receive it as well. Her head tilted downward as Ren began to rub circles on her arm. She couldn’t look at him. Not when she was doing everything within her power to not cry.

“I can only hope that you’re right. He works for Salem. For all we know she could have ways to keep him alive.” A hand comes up to rub at her eyes, refusing to let tears fall. “If he’s here, Ren, We need to be careful. Even more so than we have been. We have to keep guarded. Try to keep him away.”

    ‘ruby, i know you’ve been putting on a brave face, but you need to talk to someone.’ in a rare show of closeness, ren hesitantly settled his hand on the younger girl’s shoulder. ‘tyrian … hurt, so many people. i know you’re struggling with this. please, allow yourself some time to decompress.’

“I’m just fine, Ren! Really! You don’t have to worry about me.” She tried to push her feelings down. Just like she had been since before they had arrived in Atlas.

But then came the touch to her shoulder as Ren continued to speak. Silver eyes looked to his, lower lip starting to quiver as her facade began to crack.

“I...I thought...I hoped that we would never see him again..”

        an inquiry, if you will. what is your worst sin? not action, no no. in your professional, personal opinion, what are you?   greed?   gold and jewels always sparkle that certain way. but perhaps not– maybe   envy.   very, very close to greed, but more of a cowardice turn. no no, not that i’m calling you a coward, simply curious. then again, so many other things are enticing. perhaps your worst sin is   lust?   the desire for companionship, borderline murderous. oh, that’s a thought;   wrath   does suit your eyes well, burning with a different desire, though still primal by nature. speaking of primal, nothing is more primal than hunger– some even addicted to the sin of gluttony. or none of these– maybe your sin is the inability to do any of them.   sloth   is always enticing, the desire to lay down forever and sleep. but that doesn’t suit you. no, none of them do. i can see it, from your eyes to your fingertips. you are dripping with pride.

“Blake no! Don’t mince my doggy!” Ruby is quick to scoop up the corgi, cradling him in her arms as he barks happily and tries to lick her face.

“He just wanted some extra warmth! He can’t make it up to my bed when I nap. I promise, he’s not going to bite! He’s a very good boy.”
