Toothpaste companies must really hate people who are allergic to mint toothpaste, which a lot of people are! Apparently it's NOT supposed to burn like minty hellfire? (I'm fine with mint candy, it's only mint toothpaste that hurts)

I've been using Tom's fennel for years, but am now trying to find one with fluoride in it, and finding a toothpaste that is no mint and yes fluoride should not be such a huge and infuriating quest. still got some more grocery stores to search, but not even the children's toothpaste in the nearest one had any that were suitable.

Also, I think it might technically be a sensitivity rather than an allergy, but whatever it is, toothpaste is not supposed to hurt! If it's burning then that's bad and you should try to find a new one if possible!

gem and joel as a notorious criminal duo who are on the run after a robbery-turned-kidnapping goes awry. they take refuge in a small town in the middle of nowhere, so tiny it's not on any map (they only found it because etho, who helps them out sometimes, gave them the coordinates and promised to keep them hidden, and they trusted him enough to take the gamble) and it becomes increasingly clear that this small town is definitely, absolutely a front for something.

it's got everything one would expect a small town to have: a tiny bed & breakfast, a cafe-grocer hybrid that only stocks about three total items, a little old-fashioned sweets shop connected to a visitor center that's seen better days, even a small tattoo parlour that might be skirting health and safety regulations and probably should've gone bankrupt years ago. but there are almost no people. this town isn't even on a road that many cars pass through, so they're not making money from anyone stopping by on their way to somewhere better. gem's pretty sure she could count the number of residents on her fingers. joel's convinced everyone's acting shifty all the time (and he knows shifty. he's proficient in shifty.) the town is thriving, somehow (as much as a small town can thrive), but it's definitely not because of the income it generates.

so, the town is hiding something. they don't know what it is. they don't really care, either, as long as it does what etho promised and keeps them safe and away from prying eyes. far be it for them to judge, anyway. they've done much shadier things to get away from the feds.

besides, they've got bigger things to worry about right now, like what to do with the man currently tied up in the back of their car...

me: [flustered] sorry, i dont speak arabic well.

him: no worries. 12 eggs? red or white?

me: yes

him: white?

me: no, red

him: okay no prob. that’ll be 21,000 lira

me internally: kind of expensive…

me: okay, here you go

him: [baffled] you gave me a little too much.

me: oh?

him: yeah. 99,000 in change.

i gave him 120,000 lira.

i doubt we're ever gonna get names for all the characters in fan letter, so i think we should come up with our own. ive seen a few fandoms give names to background characters before so fuck it lets do it here

here's some of my suggestions:

for everyone's favorite girl in the whole wide world, im thinking either lettie or mihana.

lettie is admittedly a bit on the nose... but also the king of ballywood kingdom who looks like abraham lincoln is named ham burger. so it wouldnt be out of place for one piece's naming conventions.

mihana has more of a thematic meaning to it. if japanese-names.info is to be trusted, then it can be spelled with the kanji for 'not yet' 'wave' and 'droplet'. since nami's name means ocean wave, i think that's a fitting name for someone who wants to follow in her footsteps.

hot marine brother #1 could be keiichi.

again, if japanese-names.info is right, then it can translate to 'older brother' and 'marketplace'. considering that two of the only things we know about him is that he's the older brother and a former grocer... well its the best i got.

matching his brother is syouichi.

it has the same character for 'marketplace' as keiichi, but also 'rise'. and since this guy won't shut up about rising up the ranks faster than his brother i think its an obvious fit. ik a lot of characters in one piece don't have japanese names but whatever.

anyway if anyone else has name ideas pleeeaaassseee reblog this or post them. these guys deserve names.
