#telltale was CRAZY for this btw!! the drama of it all ALWAYS gets me #violet blaming herself for her gf/minnies death. clem helps her open up again. starts dating clem. finds out minnie is still alive?#saved violet telling clem she has nothing to worry about and she'll fight minnie if she has to to keep clem and her loved ones safe #kidnapped violet getting brain poisoned by minnie into turning against clem after feeling betrayed and abandoned by her #saved vi shooting minnie to save clem!!!!!!!!! but cant leave minnie behind because she already left her once and she cant do it again #vi begging minnie to stop trying to fucking kill them but shes too far gone. the 3 of them fight to the DEATH!!!#now add all that to the parallels and dark mirrors going on between clem and minnie in the A plot like the tension is off the charts #plus the parallels you can draw between clem and vi but those are less “you are my dark mirror” and more “we are the same i understand you”#HOW are the girlies not still talking about this #you know what i partially blame myself i dont talk about it enough either. i forget how many things ive left in my wips folder sometimes #UGH its all so good violets route just ads so much Flavor to the clem/minnie plotline its Delicious i couldnt imagine it Not being there #i neeeeeeeed to draw them fighting and being gay and maybe bloody even #if u cant tell i really want to get back to that wip i posted a few weeks ago but im Trying to Restrain Myself #i love forcing myself to take things slow sometimes really makes the brain shift into overdrive #twdg #violentine #it speaks

The Kafka boss is objectively so funny. The first thing she did when I fought her in the story was to make my Dan Heng kill my March. The drama, the angst she creates even in the gameplay is priceless.

#rambles #yakuza liveblogging #my 2024 was pretty shit overall but im glad i spent much of it falling down the yakuza rabbithole #ive been in desperate need of a story-heavy series to sink my teeth into since my ffxiv fixation has cooled off #and yakuza perfectly fit the bill- got a hell of a lot of bang for my buck too #and while much of the fun of the yakuza games comes from the characters & drama & humor etc some of the themes hit home #y7 & y8's themes were particularly well-timed for me personally #'rock bottom doesnt have to be all bad' + 'as long as youre alive its never too late to change' are pretty poignant ideas for me rn #even more so now than when i first played them back in feb/march #as i just had a birthday that increased my age to a number that i dont much care to think about #but i just need to keep reminding myself that it literally does not matter how old i am #all i can do is try to become who i want to be in the present #i will always wish i'd done it sooner but that regret will only ever get worse the more i stall #and it isnt worth agonizing over the time i've wasted up until now because there's literally nothing i can do about it #anyway. my expectations are low but here's hoping 2025 isnt aggressively awful

Of course they r different genres of story centered around very different characters and relationships and situations etc but i think also that just makes it funnier

#also i think what makes tws more effective (aside from there just being like. more intentional effort put into setting it up. like from #the first issue of cap vol. 5 its very clear that the point of it is to build up the circumstances necessary to reintroduce this character #into the narrative and then eventually push him center stage.)#is that its wayyyyyyyy less of a leap in logic for Bucky's character than it was for Jason. bc i mean. ofc there was the propaganda after #the fact trying to retcon jason into the angry and reckless robin. but even taking that into account #almost everything abt the red hood is an inversion of what jason was. and that is intentional and part of the drama of the story. but it #also takesmore effort to reconcile which is why we still have to make 3000000 posts analyzing and theorizing his character #Meanwhile for Bucky its like #he wasdoing winter soldier shit as a teenager during the war #died #continued obviously doing winter soldier shit as the winter soldier #got his memories back + shit #and then ran off to continue doingwinter soldier shit of his own volition against the appropriate targets #Like the conflict comes from thefact that he had no free will and thus was forced to kill indiscriminately according to his mission.#he doesnt seem to actually have much of a problem with anything he was made to do in a vacuum. which is why he keeps doing it #(im sure there was some uniquely vile shit at some pt i just havent read anything where he talks abt it yet LMAO)#and then he becomes captain america with a gun #and now as far as im aware. continues to be winter soldier. hes been doing this shit since hewas like 16 like 90 fucking years ago what els #is he supposed to do.
