omg i knew i wasn't crazy that people hating on the cn dub felt sinophobic. what do you mean "it doesn't feel right"? excuse me 😭 no one has been talking about it either...and i think the series as a whole does face sinophobia even outside of the cn discussion.

a quick example is with people denying wrice because the series was made from china ?? let's have some critical thinking skills now...

(as for the whole cyan and queen mention, this is closely related to the reddit point 😭 i do agree that these two are leaning towards unlabeled rn. i may have been influenced by people absolutely tearing down the ship between cyan/queen but is absolutely fine with lin ling/cyan or lin ling/queen. which i think is just them projecting themselves into lin ling and shipping themselves with their "waifus". i definitely should have worded it better 😭)

My knee-jerk reaction to the sinaphobia around tbhx and donghua in general was something along the lines of "don't you people hear yourselves???" Cuz these are mostly anime fans doing this and they're just repeating the exact same anti-anime rhetoric from before anime was normal and just applying it to Chinese art. And then I remembered these people also fetishize Japan and it started to make sense 😑. I get crunchyroll has a partnership with aniplex and has to prioritize them to a degree since they're their distributor, but to a degree, I still kinda think crunchyroll is intentionally enabling sinaphobic fans and tries to hide that their Chinese shows are Chinese.

On the "wrice can't be canon/implied canon cuz it's a Chinese series" thing, all I have to say is:

On Queen and Cyan: 1) Hell ya, spite Reddit. 2) WHO THE FUCK IS SHIPPING LIN LING AND CYAN OR LIN LING AND QUEEN. Anyone who ships either of those has lost any and all rights to complain about other ships (especially not for "having no basis in canon").

Using Lin Ling as a general self insert is wild to me. Like, that man has such a distinct personality.

Y'all really like the Smokes and Magnus posts!

So obviously you're getting more!!

Due to Smokescreen coming into the picture later than in canon, the last key is kinda... Lost, to both factions. No one know who this guy in the last set of encryptions is. All they know is that this guy is very important and likely knows the location of the last omega key (how on earth does the rest of the omega key/lock plotline go if smokescreen isn't there?? surprisingly close to canon, but i'm still working out all the kinks)

Arcee and Jack get to meet Ultra Magnus, who Arcee knows and respects, and tumbling out behind him is- That's the guy from the omega key stuff!

Magnus is very confused as to how everybody seems to know his little buddy when his little buddy knows exactly none of them personally.

So- Breakdown and the phase shifter are kinda with Optimus at this point in time (no, breakdown does not get to steal the possible next prime position from smokescreen) But!! When Breakdown and Optimus later rejoin the Autobots, Smokescreen will get his preferred relic of choice. (in the meantime, magnus has a whole arsenal he can use as he pleases)

Oh, and, apparently, Wheeljack likes none of the new Autobots. The first is Breakdown, for very obvious reasons, the next are Magnus and Smokey. Ultra Magnus because he already hates him in canon and Smokescreen because Smokescreen is clearly very close to Magnus and respects him. They're besties! These new guys are not fun in his opinion. And he likes reminding all of them about this. (well, he enjoys reminding magus and bd. with smokes, well- smokes will look like a kicked puppy if someone is too mean to him. instead, jackie teaches the kid to gamble. it doesn't end well)

Does Breakdown want to punch Wheeljack? Kind of. Very much so. But he's an Autobot now and besides, some of Wheeljack's ire is deserved, they were enemies for a long time after all.

Okay sooo...in relation to my last post, which I will try and not verbatim, I am considering having this blog still be its own thing for Cars and all that jazz, still serving as my 'main' blog. And then having a separate blog(ONE. JUST ONE.) Where I put alllll my nonsensical ramblings or gushing or whatnot over other characters there. So it will be two blogs total. Just this one serving the same purpose it always has, and then a second one that will just be a jambalaya of "Oh I wonder what Kane has dug up in the mines this time. Let's go find out!"

How I am going to merge everything from my other blogs, I'm....not too sure. Since it'll all be just one big bang of different fandoms that'll sway a lot from how much I am or amn't fixated on them, I probably won't go too crazy with making different links to things like my S/Is story with them or whatnot, and I will just cut it all down to one carrd so there's not like five different ones to read through.

I think I will keep the other blogs simply as archives, if you will, just because sometimes I like to look back at myself losing my own mind. But I won't post from those blogs anymore, they will simply just be...floating around.

#this is-#-what I got it is what it is.#Is this going to be an actual set thing or just the stepping stone for me putting everything here. I don't know.#Sorry I. How I sleep understanding my favorite villain's personality and backstory and why they work so well while also throwing key aspects of it away for the benefit of my own indulgences btw ^_^

the reason ive become an extreme wet cat hugo truther is because back then i was still reading on wattpad and all the 7k fics depicted varian as a shy uwu flustered boi who turned into a tomato when hugo called him a babycakes pookie pie smth smth i forgot. with hugo being a muscular alfa male. and it didn't sit right with me but i wasn't gonna hate on it obviously.

but now the truth(/hj) is reaching us and it's that hugo's a sopping boyfailure wet cat and varian literally committed more crimes than he did at 14. it has fullfilled me. the edits that blur hugo's face and add a tw at the beginning and stop putting him on this "hot badass" pedestal. he has been microwaved to hell and back in people's brains. couldn't be happier.

Sometimes i remember how long it took for Dra to get a full translation and think, wow, if it had a more speedy english translation back in the day (sorta like the one Sdra2 had) and i had my first experience with the game be as intended i don't think i would be writing -2+2 today
