There Are Good Things Yet To Bury features photos of community gardens and poems on climate grief, gardening, and the purpose of hope. Physically cut into many of the pages are windows, enabling fragments of images and text on the previous and following pages to be reactivated and recontextualized. The book reflects on how gardens nurture during crises, and the futures that hope can bring us.

Final project for my VAST class this semester! Agh I really think it’s my new favourite…!!

I was actually struggling with this one for a while, I just couldn’t seem to clarify the concept in my mind clearly enough. I think it was writing the rainbow poem when things really started to pull together, which was tricky as hell making sure it was still coherent through all 7 ‘window’ pages AS WELL AS a full spread! But I truly had SO much fun writing all the poems in this book it was such a joy :’) 

This is a project that I would love love love to be made into multiples and distributed in some capacity... I don't know if traditional publishing would ever take something like this on with how many window cuts there are haha, not that I know how complicated or uncomplicated it would be (but certainly more than if 0 windows lol). The profs on my panel review mentioned that I could look into getting a grant to make multiples but hoo that still sounds kinda spooky to me awaaa

But!! Ever since my Sunlight is moonlight book with that one window cut at the end I've wanted to do more with cutting into the page and having whatever is visible through the window be recontextualized with the flip of a page AH it's so fun and so much potential for poetic play!!!

These documentation photos were kinda a pain btw lmao (i mean when are they not) i'm struggle so much with themm.. I'm also trying to be more aware of how much of a poem I'm showing in these photos as I recently learned that most literary magazines etc won't accept submissions if that piece of writing is posted (ie published) online already. I think small excerpts might be okay as long as it's not the full piece???? awagh I don't know I'm still learning AND I don't even know how focused I want to be on submitting poems to magazines... But I figured probably better to keep more options open for future-me just in case...

a mockup that had the idea for a hidden accordion fold page (the concept being that it would spill out of the book unexpectedly while you were flipping through it)!! kinda sad I didn't have time to add that into the final but boy o boy did I run out of time lol

Did u know I was gonna put illustrations!! into the final book as well! and while I had some fun making them and using my ipad as a makeshift light table and using my new fountain pen (oough don't get me started I've been on a fountain pen kick lately)... Ultimately I felt I 1. didn't have time to include them in a resolved enough way and 2. they felt kinda outta place from the photos and poems

Some inspirations during my researchy/brainstorming phase that I got from my school's artist's book collection!:

the cover of Water, Gold, Soil by Sayler/Morris, which got me hooked on the idea of putting a photo slightly embedded into the cover (doesn't it look so good on that book!!??)

Aunt Sallie's Lament by Margaret Kaufman, featuring these wild progression of increasingly smaller pages that change how you read the poem; nothing specific I took from this book tbh but was cool to look at lol

And you know I gotta look at Tree of Codes by Jonathan Safran Foer for a book with window cuts!! I soon realized It's only printed one-sided, which meant they didn't have to worry about how it would affect any text on the verso page. Which is like, fair enough for them they had a whole NOVEL of words to deal with lmao

I made my own book cloth for this project!! sort of!! I feel like I was doing something wrong, the interfacing I got wasn't really sticking to the fabric very well at times ????? Was kinda finicky not sure if I was doing something wrong during ironing... But I got to go into the fabric store and find the exact shade of pink I wanted for the cover C:

Did 3 small cover tests too (as per assignment requirements lol but also they were kinda helpful). Takeaway was that I didn't like how test 2 and 3 looked lol

AND HERE'S ME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT AND GET IDEAS FOR WINDOW CUTS. THIS PHASE WAS ACTUALLY EXTREMELY HELFUL because at the time i was SO stuck for ideas I'm not kidding I'm was STRUGGLING throughout this entire project from a conceptual standpoint. For some reason the thesis, the bones just weren't solidified in my head, and it kinda stayed that way until almost the very end when I was formatting the poems esp the rainbow poem. But I think it clarified completely once I thought of the title, which just kinda stepped into my brain after writing one of the poems (which has the line "there are good things yet to come") and then I was like I need a book title... and my brain did a few hops and there it was LOL and I'm so happy with the title :') it captures the main theme with a lot of nuance in a pretty simple phrase which is HOO boy chefs kiss and hard to come by haha I felt very lucky

Printing was also a pain because the print techs at my school misunderstood what I was trying to do (and I'm extra salty because I was right in the first place and they made me second guess myself cause they said they needed it formatted a different way!!! But in the end I was right the first time!!!) Siigh whateevsss the silver lining was that I did notice some things I needed to fix before printing anyways... Anyways I was trying to format it their way and I fucked it all up lol I was printing a b/w mockup on my own and despairing cause I thought I was gonna have to redo all my formatting (which, with WINDOW cuts which makes every page before/after matter a LOT felt like a nightmare)

But again I was right the first time lol so crisis averteddd just a lil spike in stress levels lol

Used the digital stack cutter on my own for the first time and ohh my goodness... I love my old manual big guillotine cutter but this guy. this guy was pretty cool look at his cool line of light that tells you where the blade is gonna hit

After agonizing so much over the concept and content I was sooo happy to just be Physcially Putting The Book Together, a real turn my brain off and just do him activity yaaay

This was my fun lil set up, I was recently given this bright light stand thingy which was actually so helpful lol; I like my dim cozy room light but it's not the best for Seeing what you're doing for art stuff

So much window cutting... Yes I just freehanded all round edges lol verryy carefully.. Some alignement issues but minor enough to not affect readability ^^

For example in these first two images with the star, I just ended up cutting off the misaligned cut-lines which made the star a lil bigger lol; was trickier with a star shape like that vs like a rectangle though because of how many vertices it had, aka more opportunities to fuck up the shape

Binding time!! look at that satisfying stack oouh yummy.. Also featuring my big slab of marble that's very heavy and works great to weigh down during drying lol. Also yes I put ziplog bags between the end pages and book block to protect against glue dampness because I've gotten spooked by how damp my Hazelnuts Grow on Trees book got when clamping it lmao

Some page alignment issues with the windows after binding but nothing major :)

Looking at the Ancestors who've been namedropped so far, it really does feel like Mindfang deliberately twisted Zahhak's title into an eight-letter word. If she did have some sort of system, though, it seems to have fallen apart when naming the highbloods. Neither the Empress nor the Grand Highblood have any known eight-letter titles.

Edit, because I can't count: The Condesce does, in fact, have an eight-letter title. The Highblood, I believe, does not.

Also, that's such an interesting take on why Vriska's Like That. She's modelling herself off an embellished version of Mindfang - in other words, a completely fictional character.

#1 Starlo's name is uncool on purpose might literally mean 'Starloser' It fits his character arc. In other words, he's not the cool, badass sheriff he pretends to be (he's not 'North Star'), but a kind, friendly farmer inside

#2 He definitely DOES care about Clover. Why else would he keep saying he's proud of them, praise them, believe in them, get worried about their safety, send them a warning letter, immediately run to check what's going on with them, get angry at Clover for not staying HOME (yeah he really did consider the Wild East their home) tell Martlet to bring Clover to safety, and jump at Ceroba to try and protect them? don't question the love of star daddy

#3 Undyne actually IS a badass. Starlo isn't. He's a softie who cares about pretending to be cool bc he's insecure, even when in a situation where he could die. He wants to be a hero. He wants to be SOMEBODY, not a NOBODY. Maybe he also cared about his own status more than his town, friends and family (which could be the reason he brought a bb gun). Or he just wanted to buy time so the others could hide. Now that I think about it, it's the latter. Why else would Dina say this in genocide after you kill Ceroba: "He was more of a hero than you'll ever be." That's the whole point of his geno fight that, and a lil bit of angst when roba finds him dying IT'S CALLED CHARACTERIZATION

#4 He kidnaps Clover bc they're a human. The only human who's ever set foot on the sands of the Wild East. He's obsessed with human culture. His whole life ARE westerns. Why? Whether it's the sense of justice cowboys represent, the exciting lives they live, or both, Starlo feels like he matters thanks to this nerdy interest, like he can contribute to his community

#5 i see Martlet as a big sis not a mom bc of how young she is, despite that one joke in bits & bites, but to each their own Star jails Martlet bc of the potential of the Wild East getting shut down. She did threaten to report them to Asgore and well... according to him, better safe than sorry. He even admitted he doesn't feel right doing it

#6 It WAS wrong of him to blame and attack Clover like that, all for his own status and ego (and to get his friends back) It's called a flawed character making a fucking mistake. ultimately we really are in a new era. even beyond just the revival. i think they're really finding their stride--not only in their content (evidenced by a semi-regular schedule) but also creatively, in doing what they want to do, how they want to do it, and truly not giving that much of a fuck anymore. and i'm really happy for them. phil talked a bit about this in his 'rating my icons' video, where he's kind of decided he doesn't care what people on twitter think, and how it's been good for him, and i think we're seeing that reflected in not only his content, but also the gaming channel. they play what they want. they say what they want. and it's just fun. dan going on the record to say he's really enjoying it makes me so happy to hear, because literally december 2022 he believed he'd disappear after WAD. and now, instead, he gets to play games and make stupid jokes and smile and laugh multiple times a week, and he's really happy about it. he gets to be silly and goofy and crude without having to Stress about it. i keep saying it but they're so settled now. and as someone who's followed them through big changes and turbulent times, getting to see them happy after everything... it brings a lot of hope. and i know theyre millionaires. but there's something to looking at someone you fell in love with 15 years ago the same then as you do now. but instead of it being something scary, something you have to hide, something that feels like it can consume you and everything you have--it gets to be something beautiful. and regular. and embraced. you've read this far you get to listen to me wax poetic about them.

I defo do think Equius is a weirdo, thats kind of the point of his character I think. He was written as a joke character. but i mean if we look past that I feel like Equius is probably one of the best candidates for a character displaying signs of autism?

I mean the guy has some really niche and strange hyperfixations on horses, musculature, etc. He has a very specific way of speaking that others might find strange. and he looks to the hemospectrum for rules / guidance whereas he may struggle with common sense.

I feel like it is obvious if considered more but he does care about people in lower castes than him, its just that how he was raised / his ignorance influences alot of his behavior. but i truly genuinely believe if he was taught differently or given a chance hed have a lot of potential to end up a very kind character.

i mean people forget it but equius hasnt killed a single character in homestuck. but characters like gamzee or vriska who HAVE killed people and are arguably more "problematic" are much more liked. why? i think its just because they are considered traditionally more attractive / likable.

meanwhile equius is the weirdo autistic who sweats, has a freakish disability (being so strong he can not pick up or interact with certain items) , and hyperfixations a bunch of people consider weird. literally the majority of people in the hs universe consider equius super weird.

IDK its just some thoughts i have if u wanna add on im happy to hear it. i just think people make him out so much worse than he really is like. yea he does have problems but god in comparison to alot of other characters he genuinely is not that bad.

the aradiabot thing was defo fucked up too im not gonna deny that , but at the very least his reaction i feel like is something to consider. he seems shocked she doesnt like it, offers that he can take it out, etc. like its still fucked up n i think there should be consequences, but i think it goes to show that he is willing to change if people would give him the chance and if he was taught.

The trolls' customs and cultures are meant to show how they are horny fucked up alien teenagers. Child soldiers, child labor, thinking murder is always justified (moreso if you are part of the upperclass), etc. Equius would be one of the examples shown of how awful Alternia is. And I think Equius is interesting in his own right. Part of the reason he isn't up as high on problematic like Gamzee, Vriska, Eridan, or even his own Dancestor Horuss, is because he is moirails with Nepeta and people think it's wholesome. He can only be seen as normal if he's with her. Without it, people fall the assumption is he gross and weird and not going in depth of his character as an individual. There's implications that Equius was different before Nepeta became his moirail and I would like to see that side. Did he act more wild due to his uncontrolled strength? Does he act a bit more on his sexual desires? Can he learn to better himself if Nepeta is not there to guide him? His fetish is that despite thinking he should be treating lowbloods lesser as a highblood, he gets horny at the thought of said lowbloods trying to put him in his place. It's shown a bit most obviously when Gamzee killed Equius as he smiled like he's turned on. If he didn't get turned on, he could have stopped Gamzee. But he let his sexual desire get the better of him. It was something he struggles to control, even with Nepeta as his moirail. The uncontrollable sexual desires is displayed at its worst with Horuss, as he is more open about his kinks and practices them with Rufioh. The latter troll though having trouble to break up with him. I think Equius was suppose to learn that he can't act this kind of degenerate in serious times or treat others like that.

Daredevil Born Again Episode 8: Let's Talk About It!

Spoilers, as always.

OH MY GOD!!!! I had to take a second after this one. We are so back. Genuinely, you can see that the rewrite team took over and it was for the better. This season has been really good at parts but fallen flat at others, but genuinely as a show that was overhauled so much I think they did a really amazing job.

-Actually was kinda glad to see Dex again, which is wild, I knew from the trailer he'd be back but I kinda forgot that fact and was worried we'd never see him again due to the og showrunners. (again. what the fuck were they thinking)

-Again, the cutting back and forth between Matt and Fisk scenes is beautiful, I love the comparisons. ESPECIALLY because this is the episode that Wilson and Vanessa make amends while Matt's relationship with (reads smudged writing on hand) Meather is falling apart. Still really wish they would have given her more depth and something for us to care about, but oh well. But the hero's relationship is falling apart while the villain is thriving????? Another sign of the status quo also returning????

-Heather girl I am trying to be nice to you but you really pissed me off with how you're talking about daredevil, like I know I'm biased cuz I love seeing the devil come out but WHAT DO YOU MEAN he was only there for himself and you "saved yourself"??? I wasn't gonna bring it up before but you actually didn't need to shoot Muse and if you left well enough alone, he probably would have been alive, slurping his meals through a straw, but alive!!! And you wouldn't be feeling guilty!!!!

-Again I am biased but if my partner seemed THAT freaked about a dude I'd be like woah what did he do to you??? like idk maybe if I was in a relationship with that person I'd want to trust their judgement or idk at least hear them out! I know Matt has been really distant and self destructive lately but still. idk.

-The fact that he gave her a key and a gun. I feel like it was a test and Vanessa knew that. She knew what she had to do. I knew as soon as they entered that building Vanessa would be killing Adam, poor dude. That was wild.

-Fisk giving Brown Noser Number OneTM his own level of authority is crazy. I forget his name but you worship Fisk and its Weird. Also notice that he totally passes up a capable black woman to give it to a much younger, much less experienced, white man.

-Matt telling off that client was so messy and funny I was living for it. Matt's convo with Kirsten was amazing and I truly love how they've pieced together the old parts of this show to lead to Matt's unraveling. He's tried so, so hard. He's tried not to be a vigilante. Trust the law. And it just keeps screwing people over. It's a tragedy, it was always going to end up here.

-Fisk putting Dex into gen pop and then revealing he's been seeing Heather on the SAME DAY to get back at Matt in retaliation, JUICY.

-Matt putting it together that Foggy was working a case and got killed for it. I am so proud of him, it was a magical moment, and fuck everyone for not believing him. Also goes to show exactly how well he knew his best friend!!!! It was also good see Josie again :')

-Matt going to see Dex was crazy, that scene was amazing. Dex literally had real balls to try to BARGAIN with Matt which was crazy. Bitch you killed his best friend like what? Matt slamming his head against the table, and then knowing to do that so he could claim Dex did it was brilliant lol. Matt said fuck a second time with so much force, it was beautiful.

-When he was sitting there in the chair I was like shit shit shit, the tooth reveal was gross and equally terrifying because you knew what was coming. Dex showing up to the party was terrifying and the Daredevil franchise (I guess thats what I'd call it) has made him out to be so scary he's a like an unkillable slasher villain. A force you can't stop.

-the whole party. BB revealing she knows about Fisk and her uncle, wanting to work with the commissioner and using Daniel (omg thats his name!) Vanessa showing up in red, the Fisks looking happier than ever. The one woman, Artemis whose husband is missing or something because of Fisk???? Matt showing up and trying so hard to get to Fisk, the tension rising with Heather, the cops beating up that dude and burning his hand IN FRONT OF THE COMISSIONER was crazy, everything kept building.

The dance scene! Fisk talking to Matt because he knows he can hear, telling Vanessa not to talk about it there and Matt realizing it was Vanessa. A lot of people called that, and I'm glad the show has laid the groundwork for that reveal. Matt then confronting her about it and her making a move to run, her fear in that moment??? It made me realize how much Daredevil is a villain in their story, someone to be feared. It was just a MAGNIFICENT moment.

MATT TAKING THE BULLET FOR FISK!!! IN A VERY SIMILAR PLACE TO WHERE FOGGY GOT SHOT!!! People have pointed out that he did what he told Dex he would never do, which was defend his worst enemy!!! He's still that little kid pushing people out of the way of danger!!! I CANNOT FUNCTION IN THESE CONDITIONS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The blood spatter on Fisk's suit looking like the blood spatter on Their painting too!! I just. the rivalry. the tension, the build up. The reverting back to who they truly are. I am truly floored.

Its like when people call her "kkkiramman" like nothing she did or believed ever aligned with the extremity of that hate group. She definitely became less sympathetic and understanding and colder, but she never full on hated zaun in it's entirety. We can still visibly see her reservations. She did have her hand and role to play but to believe she in anyway compares is absolute blasphemous.

We can hold caitlyn accountable without being god awful extremist about it.

People want to throw alot of buzz words around. But let's be for real for a moment and talk about how ambessa utilized and took advantage of caitlyn's grief to groom her into this person who would write off ambessa war crimes. The way ambessa continued to twist the knife and dangle jinx like a carrot in front of Cait.

Ambess orchestrating the attack on the memorial was the first match lit. Like she did not give a single fuck the collateral to get what she wanted. She took someone she could manipulate in her conquest to start a war so piltover would be forced to make the weapons she desired.

When we see Caitlyn waver in front of ambessa "the sword cuts both ways" ambessa is quick with her trained manipulation. Always coaxing the flames of caitlyn's hatred for jinx. Making sure that she can't even begin to consider if it would be worth it in the end. But also ambessa brought her this far so backing out now would've felt like a waste. Truly a defeat. She would've pushed vi away for nothing, in her mind.

Caitlyn is not absolved of her crimes. She literally says this herself?! Hello people. But people who write her off as irredeemable make my head spin.

If you think saying "she grew up privileged and had the luxury of grieving" suddenly makes every emotion in her go away then maybe you shouldn't be watching any shows or consuming media. Like the class war between piltover and zaun is very important but that's not what the take away is supposed to be and so many people miss that. Everyone wants to think they're truly fighting some irl classist war when they dont extend any nuance to Cait.

"She faced one death and couldn't handle it" girl she faced one murder, by jinx that she believes she could've prevented. She faced being abducted from her own bathroom by jinx. Like jinx truly terrorized her, yall expected her not to see red when it came to jinx. Maybe if they added little squiggly and distortions people would get the message that she was traumatized by jinx.

If this were any other show "the mental illness made them do it" would not be a write off for jinx.

I guess it's fine if silco and jinx terrorize their own people in zaun because they're on the same class level?

I love jinx but I wish people would look at her critically. Look at why she's such an interesting character. Jinx and Caitlyn are so much foils but people don't get that. Thinking about the tragedy that is Squirrelflight--

Like..as a kit/apprentice, she goes on this insane journey and makes close friends but they don't even remain close cuz One dies, one stays in the mountains, one gets with her sister then fucks off and then..she gets with Brambleclaw which is..the way it is, and she has to take her sisters kits and she loves them unconditionally and she can't tell them who their real parents are cuz Leafpool doesn't want them too.

Then..Ashfur becomes obsessed with her for NO DAMN REASON. Cuz she wanted a friend to confide in then he decided that meant they were mates..and when he didn't get that. HE TRIED TO KILL HER KIDS SO SHE HAD TO TELL HIM THE TRUTH.

Her kids get pissed at her, Brambleclaw gets pissed at her (which..sure..why not get mad at..Ashfur?? For doing what he did? Anyways..) her daughter then disappears and she has her sons but they hate her and aren't shy about saying it..especially Jay feather. Last Hope comes..and she loses her daughter AGAIN (after just recently getting her back mind you.) And Bramblestar is petty. And comes CLOSE to just replacing her with someone that's exactly like her... Jessie 😶 (i hated her sm in bramblestars storm istg. She was LITERALLY just a kitty pet version of Squirrleflight. Don't play with me.) ..these things might be out of order i haven't read the books in years---

ANYWAYS-- she has two kits with Bramblestar this time and SHE STILL DOESNT GET ANY PEACE. Her husband 'dies' then..he gets possessed..by Ashfur and he starts terrorizing other cats especially their family. Thunderclan has basically become a cult that believes Starclans word is law..and they refuse to help other cats.

Her husband sets their daughter up to get attacked by dogs..then she attempts to help strange cats..and Shadowclan and Thunderclan decide that's worse than the dark forest and involve themselves for no damn reason and that leads to her and her sister getting hurt.

She's then..PUT ON TRIAL. SOMETHING THATS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. Not even Ashfur had to deal with that. After everything she and her sister did for Starclan cuz of their insane prophecy..this is what they're met with ??? Also at some point..Ashfur steals her..and drags her to cat hell??? That was still wild.

..Just man-- Squirrleflight deserved so much better!!! Her entire family kind of failed her honestly cuz I get Lion and Jay were upset but??? They were such assholes. Especially Jayfeather. He was trying to find Malleus through Lilia's directions ("He's probably admiring some marble and stone during these hours." "???? I DONT UNDERSTAND.") and mistook Lilia's cryptic comment referring to gargoyles to be about the statues of the Great Seven.

Of course, he was surprised when he happened upon a human with their monster-cat??? familiar???? When he was expecting his young master

He immediately provokes them on sight, shouting why they're here. Yuu says that they were just passing through!!! Before Grim asks him about the statues. Sebek's jaw drops because??? These guys dont know who the Great Seven are??? PREPOSTEROUS (Proceeds to info dump to them)

Things actually go smooth from there!!! Sebek is pleasantly surprised that Grim is genuinely interested in the Great Seven and Yuu butts in with their own insightful questions. It all crashes to the ground when Sebek makes an offhand comment of how he can't believe that the school allowed a human walk around, especially with a CLEARLY not trained pet.

Cue Grim scorching the statue of the Thorn Fairy instead!!! Sebek is AGHAST. He is wailing on the ground begging for forgiveness, even before Crowley happens upon them. Crowley sighs and orders them to wash the windows, things go the same once more!

You might think: Oh, Sebek would NEVER ditch Yuu and Grim like Ace did, ESPECIALLY since its a punishment given from the headmaster himself. ok it seems dream has slowed down or went to cry himself to sleep or something idk but now im gonna try n chronicle this shit as unbiasedly as i can. but whoooooa baby

anyways. it started when Nicolas Cantu (yes yes junkyjanker gumball voice actor) was replying to the dream parody account, dreamwastalen.

(also yes he knew it was a parody acct dude said he was roleplaying lmao)

Dream qrted the 'you can't joke when u an actual pedophile' tweet essentially saying that cantu is a horrible person, accusing him of assaulting dream, treating an uber driver horribly, and that he was saying the r word and being racist. Also says cantu apologized to dream on twitter by blaming it on alcohol and weed.

nicolas qrts, saying 'yes i slapboxed you in front of the hoes', confirming he mistreated an uber driver and said he tipped the driver well after and has been handling his drinking, says he called dream 'fat and a predator'. Nicolas denies being racist. He ends it with "hire a harvard professor to calculate why despite texting every twitch streamer in austin not a single one wanted to fuck you."

also in a qrt to a now private account that basically said 'dream reaching out to streamers doesnt mean he wanted to fuck them' nicolas said dream was sending streamers dick pics.

dream replies saying that nicolas didnt even tip and with screenshots of the dms nicolas had sent him apologizing. The dm is a massive text of paragraph . In an attempt to summarize it is essentially cantu apologizing for hitting dream n that he was out of line, mentioning he was drinking and high, that he thought dream would be an asshole but says he is 'humble, grounded and decent', that he relates to the pressure/discourse around having to deal w fame and havin a lot of influence at a young age, and also that he doesnt know who is and isnt lying w the allegations but he knows having lies n rumours spread bout u sucks.

worth noting im not sure when this message took place so I cant say if its extremely recent, but later dream i believe mentions it having to do with the latest twitchcon. idk [edit: looking ahead robbo mentioned this happened months ago]

Another contender, robbo, comes in saying he was there and that dream was slapped for calling a girl they are friends with a whore. They technically recant this accusation, saying they mixed the cantu slap up with another event that took place at twitchcon, but they continue to claim dream did this.

dream qrts this saying robbo 'wasnt even in the same state' at the time, that he doesnt know who robbo is, that he doesnt go around harassing women and accuses robbo of upholding the benevolent sexism trope of women being weak and needing to be protected by men.

Nicolas cantu makes a reappearance and screenshots dreams reply and tweeting it, then qrting his own tweet with a video of classical music and showing a text allegedly from dream (the name 'clay' at the top of the screenshot) saying 'tsk tsk whore' to someone. The video also has a clip from when dream was in mcc with captainsparklez and said 'we should lynch them' in reference to i think ppl allegedly cheating?.

thats the most of it so far. although robbo and dream continued to argue and at one point dream said he was going to sue them for slander/defamation and robbo qrted with 'sue me.' theres more to that bit but im not puttin screenshots this shit is already too long

anyways. my final opinion: i literally odnt know like half what happening here or if nicolas cantu really was racist or if that screenshot was 'real' and cantu said he wouldnt reveal who the friend dream called a whore is cuz he dont want to pull her into this. so im like what. but dream gettin clapped by nicolas is fucking hilarious and dream pullin the suing thing again is wild. i seen ppl in qrts saying how he already said he was gonna sue amanda and didnt, sayin he instantly pulled the dms w cantu but wont show the evidence showin amanda lied, etc. and those r a lot of what i think a this like. i feel he got angry and exploded again when eh coulda let it die out. but that always happens

Supposedly, there was a new student in U.A.

Rumors spread like wild fire about them.

Apparently, they were the most annoying person in the school. And thats saying something.

Y/N's eyes always held a mischievous glint in them, and it seemed like they always had a stupid grin on their face.

It seemed like their whole existence was just to cause mischief and chaos.

Eijirou thought about all of this as he walked down the hallways, keeping his eyes peeled for Y/N. One of the rumors he heard was that no one ever knew where they was when they weren't there. They never told anyone.

Maybe his quirk let him appear in and out of places? Maybe he dug tunnels through the walls, and disappeared through them to scare an uncsepeticng victim.

Eijirou tried to calm himself down. He mentally scolded himself for believing these rumors when he hasn't even met the person! It was unmanly of him to judge someone he's never met.

Eijirou was lost in this question for a few seconds, only breaking out of it when suddenly, someone's gloved hands sat firmly on his shoulders, making him jolt slightly.

"Did I scare ya?" Y/N's voice says from behind. Eijirou quickly turns around. "Whoa! Hey, I haven't seen you around here before. I'm Eijirou Kirishima!" He smiles softly, wanting to appear nice to the mischievous character. "Whats your name?"

Y/N grins mischievously. "Thats for me to know, and you to find out." They step back slightly, still wearing their mischievous grin. "Haven't seen you around either." They tilt their head, this time stepping closer and getting in his face.

Eijirou feels a little awkward at how close they were to his face, but didn't say anything. "Oh, uh, yeah?" He says nervously. "I guess we haven't met, but I'm not really new-"

"Yeah, mhm." Y/N appears behind him, grabbing his shoulders. "So your from the hero course, hm?" Y/N spins hims around, looking the redhead up and down. "Bit red for my type." They grab his hand, stopping him from spinning around as they scan him with their eyes.

Eijirou places his hand on his head, trying to stabilize his spinning head as he tries to regain his balance. Once he does, he smiles softly and laughs nervously. "Oh, really? Then what is your type?" He jokes, trying to not seem annoyed.

"Not you." Y/N says, letting go of Eijirou's hand, making him fall on his ass. Y/N snickers before they walk away, leaving Eijirou on his ass.

Eijirou grumbles to himself before standing up. "Rude.." He mutters to himself before walking in the opposite direction.

Ever since that day, Y/N has been practically torturing him to the point where Eijirou can't sit down in fear of a whoopie cushion being there!

Eijirou never understood why you did what you did. After all, you were a thorn in his side the whole time he's known you.

Until one day, he found you crying at the courtyard. You just seemed so..upset.

Eijirou knew it wouldn't be manly to just leave you like that, so he stepped closer to you. "Y/N?" He asks softly, hoping to grab your attention.

You quickly wipe your tears and glare at him. "What the hell do you want." You grumble, never making eye contact. Eijirou hesitantly sits down next to you.

"What happened?" He askes. "Its only going to hurt more if you don't tell me..." He says in a soft tone, not wanting to scare you off.

You're extremely hesitant to tell him. You hardly knew this guy, and all you did was tease and annoy the hell outta him. So why was he doing this?

You just decide to ignore him, turning away. Eijirou sighs.

"You don't have to tell me. I get it, its probably personal to you. But.." He looks at you, eyes filled with compassion and understanding. "Its okay to cry. Bottling up your emotions isn't healthy." He fiddles with his fingers for a bit before continueing.

"Personally, I think its manly to cry." He smiles softly.

You raise an eyebrow, looking back at him. "Huh?"

Eijirou beams and nods. "Mhm! Manly. Its just something I say, I guess." He chuckles. "Its a compliment!"

You can't help the small smile tugging on the corners of your lips as you look back at him.

"Thanks." You say, hardly louder than a whisper.

Maybe you weren't so bad after all, Eijirou thought.

He couldn't wait to make you his new friend.

the funny thing is with pesterquest trolls, you can track the quality of writing and accuracy of sprites inversaly with the amount they show up in the routes/stories. Tavros and kanaya are the most accurate sprite and writing wise IMO and they are also basically non-existent!

also I will say in theory, doing FLARP with Vriska is actually a fun choice of story to do, with the whole getting your class and shit being enjoyable at least on a first go 'round, but it suffers from basically everything else in it. though that being said being able to ditch Tavros to do stuff with Vriska *was* funny as an ending. Very fitting.

Not sure if this is a controversial take on pesterquest but I think that the Alpha Kids shouldn't have been included at all, flat out. It should have been the Beta Kids, then the Trolls (with a similar overall goal of probably getting them all together and helping them get over their shit.) and then act 3 should be getting the trolls and the humans to interact in person as well (With possible interspecies makeout sessions in the implied but not shown future. headcanon what you want), and *not* doing the Davekat shit like the dream sequence leading into the Alternia stuff that the VN actually did (admittedly as a one-off gag, I'm fine with it. A reference to Davekat doesn't do much harm since it was just a dream and what not.) Realistically, even with Paradox Space bullshit, whats the point of having the Alpha kids in the initial batch of characters? I mean comparatively of course. If we had a complete overall story and then got Alpha Kid stuff post-launch maybe, then I guess that could work? I mean what do you even do with them overall, in a sealed off timeline? Its not like the Beta Kids or the trolls have any actual connection to them, especially when compared to the Kids and Trolls in the main story. at least when the timeline diverges in pesterquest the trolls have been trolling for years (from the kids POV at least) even if the Trolls didn't actually experience any of that. plus regardless of the circumstances you can't do a Pesterquest style game and *not* include the B kids and the trolls. Obviously.

I'll admit I'm not sure what the result of the Trolls pre-SGRUB should or would be with the Beta kids, since they don't exactly have a connection to them individually unless MSPA unlocks those memories or something? Or Aradia Does that? You know what, if you absuletly have to have The Alpha Kids in their for whatever reason, DIRK can do that. or maybe Nepeta can with her latent Rogue of HEART Player powers! That'd be nice, giving Nepeta an important but not entirely out-of-the-ass role. She deserves that, I think.

I mean if we want to continue down the road of more fanfic-esc world building just having the personalities clash for a while would be great fun. Explore the popular ships as blank-slate relationships. How do these characters interact as their initial selves in a vaccume? I'm not as sure John would be as quick to accept Vriska as a person before SBURB. Jade would be on the Hate-Train for a long time, though might actually get along with Tavros for once! RoseMary probably happens anyway (be it romantically or in Friendship). They just seem destined to get along tbh assuming they get any exposure with the other. Dave and Karkat probably DON'T get along because thats honestly how that should happen regardless, even if they do become friends over time. ect. If you have an entire act 3 to work with, so anywhere from 4-12 episodes at minimum, you can do a lot of fun stuff with that. go buck wild (but within reason.)!
