it's working on yourself to address the problems that split you two apart in the past but respecting their desire for distance still

anyways alhaitham is annoying (in fact, he's weaponised it) but not in the "nice guy" way of demanding something in return for kindness (which trips kaveh up bc he's stuck on "but what could i possibly do for him?)

still not over how kaveh's perception of alhaitham was stuck at his understanding of alhaitham's character from their fall-out, aka when they were both at the akademiya

& how that mismatch between his memory of alhaitham vs the real alhaitham of now led to so many misunderstandings between them

Posting this mostly because I believe I won't get done with it fully quick enough so yeah. Basically this will be done in digital I have Alhaitham done so now it's just only Kaveh. Expect the full ver in around a week(probably on the weekend!)as I am currently quite busy studying for tests.

they've never met in person but can recognize each other's writing style within the first 3 sentences & know each other's handwriting almost better than their own 💖

maybe alhaitham uses his grandmother's name as a pseudonym, while kaveh chose the pseudonym Venant, his dad's favorite star (aka regulus, leo constellation, one of the 4 royal stars of persia)

based off of vibes and pen name, kaveh thinks alhaitham is a female khsharewar graduate (aka older than kaveh) who has questionable taste in light novels

meanwhile bc of kaveh's constant complaints about his lack of sleep and workload + the star name, alhaitham considers if layla is his mysterious pen pal

alhaitham isnt interested in meeting in person bc he's come to the conclusion that its easier for him to connect over written word and letters, less chance of being misunderstood because his face isn't emoting "correctly" or bc his tone of voice didn't use the "right" inflection

meanwhile kaveh's afraid he'll get treated differently once the other sees him he's seen the judgement in other people's eyes, how they dismiss him or suddenly turn falsely nice

for once he seems to have found someone who understands him for him. he doesnt want to lose that

they were already codependent weirdos about each other in akademiya prove me wrong--

but take away the insecurities and hassles of being a human being in physical 3d space and allow for more open vulnerability bc they're anonymous and probably will never actually meet irl
