i feel the need to say before i finish this post that im not accusing anyone or "the fandom" of doing anything, this is merely an observation, but i find it really interesting that all of what ive seen people criticize ford for is coincidentally a lot of what looks like to me, as an autistic person, is him having classic "undesirable" or "frustrating" autistic traits, things like lack of understanding for social norms (manners in particular), lack of empathy, being incredibly blunt, and inability to understand other people. These are all traits that a lot of typical abrasive scientist characters have so its not like im here saying hes canonically autistic or anything, its just to me he feels like a very autistic character. which is why its so interesting to see people criticize him so viciously for things that ive found myself doing or at least can perfectly understand his thought process in doing those things. Like one thing ive seen someone complain about is when hes monologuing about how he got fiddleford to join him on his portal, and he says that fiddleford was "wasting his time making personal computers" and i guess to the average person maybe thats rude, like maybe he liked making computers! but to me i can see how it probably wasnt meant in malice or contempt for fiddlefords work ford just knows that fiddleford can do better and doesnt understand why hes "wasting" his time making computers because ford doesnt understand what his motivations are, like fiddleford can build GIANT KILLER ROBOTS and INTERDIMENSIONAL PORTALS, fords probably thinking "fiddlefords a genius he is so good at building why is he building computers when he can make big cool awesome stuff" that doesnt really seem that bad to me? definitely doesnt seem like itd make ford an asshole. And then theres the portal thing and like, i guess how not immedietly saying "are you okay" after your assistant just went face first into a portal to who knows where and is speaking backwards is not a good thing to do, but i definitely dont think that it meant ford didnt care about fiddleford, especially if he expressed multiple times later on how he regretted fiddleford leaving and missed him. to me its like, ford was already mad at him, already probably tense bc theyre testing the portal, then he gets fiddleford out and hes not like actually bleeding or anything (and even if he was visibly distraught i dont really consider ford to be the kind of person to really factor in psychological damage when youre making sure someones okay (and he may have already been used to seeing fiddleford have panic attacks at this point so he couldve assumed thats what was wrong (but also like either way youre gonna be spooked if you just did the interdimensional portal equivalent to almost falling off a cliff))) so ford just probably assumed he was fine, plus hes already there for the portal test so his brains thinking about the portal test, having someone go in the portal is a pretty good way to test the portal so that person must know a lot .. and like still kinda a shitty thing to do but i dont think that means ford didnt care about him thats just a weird conclusion to draw based on how ford acts especially. there seems to be this big idea that ford secretly hated fiddleford and saw him as less than when thats not really true at all, ford even admits in his journal that he *needs* fiddleford and that fiddleford can do what he cant but also that he enjoys his presence and has gone out of his way to do things for him, plus theres so many times where ford really does talk about how much he admires him! fiddleford got a whole page! just about him! when ford couldve just offhanded mentioned him in his journal (that is SO important to him too) he decided to dedicate a whole page to listing off his quirks and drawing a picture of him like thats just pure adoration!! i just think that with all the stuff with bill combining with his lack of empathy and ability to understand others he just comes across as meaner than he probably was

I thought about what to make of aphrodites room since I didn't want it to be a bit too generic depiction of olympus you know all white and with clouds everywhere and nothing really personalized for a deity so it'll be easier to draw, really tried avoiding that

I definitley wanted aphrodites room to be very dim and with red lights afterall that lighting get's associated with sex alot[or danger, both go well with her] especialy when candles are in use, since aphrodite came out of the ocean and in my version shes practicly made out of water I decided to make her entire room a pool of some sorts, her temple of course isn't soaked, knees high full of water, it's just her room since thats where she goes to rest, it's her private area so it's dedicated to making her comfortable and barely anything else

she lived her whole existance till this point in the sea so her rooms full of water because well it's what she knows the most and she has good memories with it, for her getting in water is kinda like eating a childhood meal for us if that makes any sense

i see a lot of talk going around about how the team were terrible to daisy after 5x14 and one person even said that it was basically a darvo situation, and i want to add my opinion to the pile, cause i disagree with that a lot. i also generally have a problem with how people tend to defend their favourite to the absolute while villainizing almost every other character in this discourse. they all deserve equal amounts of empathy.

lets get a few disclaimers out of the way first: from my perspective, what happened wasnt anyones fault, they were all victims in this situation. fitz cant be blamed for having a psychic split, daisy had every right and more to react the way that she did, thats not even a discussion. it was also just absolutely the right decision, fitz wasnt trustworthy anymore after that. he absolutely did care about what he did though, he mentioned how he was scared by how he still thought he did the right thing at least twice. thats not the same thing as being horrified at what he did exactly, but the reasons for his split didnt go away just because it happened, and this is about as close as you can get in this situation i think. i also think his whole " i didnt have a choice" shtick was more about him trying to make sense of what happened rather than trying to deflect blame, because he generally lacks empathy for other people a bit and getting defensive and not considering whether that is appropriate right now is perfectly in character for him (still terrible on his part despite all that though, and this is probably where the darvo thing comes from as far as it concerns him). now:

the way i see the aftermath of that episode is that with everything still happening, coulson gone and possibly (definitley, its hydra) being tortured for intel, the end of the world still fast approaching, and daisy still being convinced its somehow gonna be her fault (especially after having her powers restored), none of them could allow themselves to break right now. and crucially: noone blamed daisy for the way she reacted or attacked her for it. may thought she wasnt ready for coulsons job after literally just being tortured, and she was right about that, that was way too much pressure to put on her after that (despite that, i still think daisy did a good job, but she shouldnt have had to). mack agreed with daisy fully. simmons was definitley not okay anymore after what happened and acted increasingly irrationally. she just watched her husband torture her best friend while being held at gunpoint by a robot he programmed, after which daisy had no time to talk to her and fitz was locked in a cell and disillusioned about who he was. she was essentially alone to deal with the situation.

it doesnt excuse what she did, but i also dont think she wouldve acted the way she did if she was fully sane at that point. i mean, she risked swallowing literal acid because she thought she was invincible due to knowing she makes it past the worlds destruction. before this, she was very, starkly different. those are not the actions of someone whos secretly a sociopath like many regularly accuse her of being, theyre the actions of someone who has been pushed completely past their breaking point. as for yoyo, she lost her goddamn arms and was absolutely convinced that daisys path was going to lead to the entire worlds destruction. and that was what she was mad at daisy about.

this was the entire tragedy of that situation: its not a question of fault. they all acted terribly towards each other, and they all had good reasons for it, even if they were being unfair or vicious. it just happened.

so they all pushed what fitz did aside for the moment to focus on the mission, but its literally the main factor of what drove the team apart for the rest of the season, because daisy was focused on her interpretation of the prophecy and wasnt gonna trust fitz or anything he said anymore, simmons and yoyo were convinced he was right and felt daisy wasnt listening to them, and then they managed to scrape themselves back together as a team, just barely, and saved the world, losing both coulson and fitz in the process. in my headcanon the team patched up most of their differences after 5x22, based on how it ended, flashbacks and mentions from season 6 as well as the team being friendly with each other again, and the fact that this show isnt the kind to just ignore events like this, if things are radically different between seasons its safe to assume that stuff happened off screen, not that the writers were lazy. losing two members of their shared family probably also provided them with some perspective and reminded them of how much they all mean to one another.

and this hit all of them very hard, and they all dealt with it in their own way without involving the others. all of them, not just daisy. mack focused on his job 100%, may and elena helped him, simmons went to space to find fitz and daisy came with her because everything reminded her of coulson and theyre each others best friend. when they all came back together, they had managed to somewhat move on from what happened and probably werent to keen on bringing it up again. i mean we saw how sarge had them all bent out of shape because he had coulsons face. they were not over it. nevermind the fact that they had another alien invasion on their hands at the time.

i currently have final fantasy brainrot and wrote this on my lunchbreak.

He was sat on the throne. He could feel his life slipping away being claimed by the crystal. It wasnt fair first hed lost 10 years of his life and now it was going to end. Hed missed so much and was going to miss so much more. But at least they would be safe. Everyone would be safe turning to look at his friends he gave them a small smile and drew his last breath. ------------------- The chocobo song was playing. The alarm clock blaring at him that it was time to wake up. The sun shone through the windows. Anf he was in his bed? What was going on? Was this it? his aftrerlife was just a replica of his old room? At least it was comfortable. With a groan he turned off the alarm and stood up realising something. He was shorter than he had been when he died putting his hands to his face he coukd feel no stubble. Making his way to the bathroom attached to his bedroom he swore when he saw himself in the mirror. He looked just how he used to.... back at the begining before anything  was this the astrals cruel way of taunting him. Reminding him of the life he'd had?

"Noctis? are you awake?" A gentle voice called through the door. That voice. It was Iggy! Please dont let him have died as well Noctis begged the astrals as he approached the door and opend it. He did a double take. Iggy. He was like he was before. Young healthy happy and.... and he could see! Ignis could see again! Without realising what he was doing Noctis grabbed ignis and pulled him in for a tight hug.

"Im sorry Ignis.... im so so sorry its my fault" Noctis wept into his friends jacket.

Ignis wrapoed his arms around Noctis. He had no idea what had occured to cause the prince to act like this Noctis wasnt really one to wear his heart on his sleeve like this or seek out comfort. He was worried.

"Noctis whatever is troubling you, you can talk to me about i promise i will listen"

"Hurry up we are going to be late" Gladio walked into the room in all his former young glory Towering above Noctis even more now than when he had died.

"Gladio you're here too?" Noctis choked out. Astrals had they all died when he did? Was he the reason they died? Did it not work did his death mean nothing and the scrouge and the Deamons still plauged the planet? He hadnt realised he was shaking till Ignis gently guided him to sit on the floor. "Is he sick or something?" Gladio asked Ignis looking at Noctis concerned. He hadnt seen his prince like this before.

"I dont know he was like this when i arrived"

"Thats not good we need to get going we dont want to miss our boat it woukd be typical of Noctis to be late for his own wedding. Gladio frowned

Wait his wedding? Did Gladio not remember? Judging by the looks on their faces neithier of them did. What was going on? Pulling himself together he forced the tears to stop and weakly stood up walking out the door the other two close behind. He was met with daylight and a fully intact and busy Insomnia.

Thats when he blacked out.

Gladio lunged foward and caught Noctis before his head hit the ground.

"I'll fetch the car he needs to see a doctor" Ignis went to fetch the car as Gladio stood cradling the unconcious prince in his arms. Something definitley wasnt right here. Noctis was fine yesterday and for whatever this was to come on so suddenly.... had someond poisioned him?

Ignis parked the car and Gladio climbed in the back seat buckling Noctis into the middle seat so he could support him during the journey.

"You'll be ok Noctis" Gladio said placing a hand on the Princes forhead checkinf for a tempreture as Ignis put the car in Gear and drove towords the hospital. ___________________ "Awaken king of stone" Noctis knew that Voice. His eyes flew open and he stood up finding himself in a place that reminded him of inside the crystal. A blue glow appeared before him and Shiva appeared in all pf her glory.

"Shiva what's going on?" He asked her

I have decided to intervene Young king. Last time it took to long and though your sacrife cleansed most of the Scrouge it did not clear it completley. I have decides to grant you another chance to fufil you mission" The astral informed him

"Go through ot all again just for me to lose 10 years of my life and die once more? No way" Noctis decided he couldnt. He wouldnt go through all of that again. "You misunderstand me king of stone. This is an opporunity to do it right. Try reasoning woth Ardym he was a good man once maybe he is still in there" Shiva finished

"Ardyn a good man?" Noctis didnt believe it

With a wave of her hand Shiva showed him what had occured between Sommus and Ardyn and how Aera had paid the ultimate price. Noctis hadnt known that.

"This is what i offer young king. You get another oppurunity to make this right finish your mission quicker this time and if you can convince ardyn to aid you against the scourge the two of you may yet survive"

"What happens if i dont?" Noctos asked

"You will die young king"

Noctis took a deep breath. Another chance to do things rightn to save everyone he could orevent ignis from going blind he could save Luna!

"I acept"

"Good i will send you back now, you will remember this encounter and to save you some time i will grant you acess to the arminger you had in your final battle with ardyn. Save you from having to find all those royal tombs"

With a wave of her hand Noctis felt power flow into him then she was gone. ___________ The Doctor hadn't found anything wrong with Noctis he had no idea what could have caused this to happen in the young prince. It wasn't poision or anything physical. So maybe it was magical? Using a device to read magic levels he held it over Noctis. There was nothing. Looking at Gladio and Ignis who were just as suprised as he was the Doctor scanned again still nothing.

Had Noctis lost his magic? How was that even possible? What would they do now? Could Noctis even recover from this?

Deciding to scan one final time the device let out a shrill beep and shorted out as Noctis sat up with a gasp a wave of his magic shooting through the building.

The Doctor was dumbfounded havig no clue what may have occured.

You have to act like your old self. You can do this. Noctis thought to himself

"Hey Gladio, Ignis why are you looking at me like that?" He said woth false confusion in his voice.

"You had us worried there Noct can you tell us what happend to you?' Ignis was now sat on the edge of the hospital bed.

"What do you mean what happend i went to sleep last night then the next thing i know im waking uo to you and gladio looking at me like im crazy specs!"

"He doesnt remember" Gladio realised

"It is indeed odd however it looks like he's fine now. We'll continue to monior his condition the the way to Golden Quay" Ignis told the doctor as Noctis got out of the hospital bed and put his boots and jacket back on.

"Wheres prompto?" Noctis asked trying to sound casual. He needed to see prompto he needed to know his closest friend was ok

"We sent him on a quick supply run hes going to meet us at the gate this afternoon luckily we should still be able to leave on time"

Typical Ignis sticking to the shechduel. With a nod Noctis walked out the hospital room and down the stairs to where the Regallia was parked. He could do this. He was going to do this. He would get it right this time.

Sure enough just like last time the regallia broke down and they had to push it to hammerhead. Noctis was planning his next steps as they rested in the haven that night. He didnt need to get the royal arms thank shiva for that it would save a lot of time they didnt beed to go on a quest for thst reporter as he already knew what he needed to know so they would save some time there as well. Could he save gladios dad? Could he save his own? They were to late last time but what if thdybturned back forst thing in the morning. No that wouldnt work they werent strong enough to strand uo to the forces yet howrver... he could send a message. He pulled out a pen and paoer and wrote an urget letter one to Iris. One to gladios father and one to king regis. He sent them as soon as he woke up in the morning. They would reach insomnia in time. What they chose to do with his warning was up to them. Hopefully it would make enough of a difference. They rescued the person from the Shed and cindy repaired the regallia. They ate food in the crows nest and prompto took some photos. He and gladio sparred and they spent a night in the caravan. It was nice to be back here. He hadnt realised just how much he had missed the simpler days. --------- Something was off with noctis and ignis was worried after the whole incident which he and gladio had informed prompto about Noctis hadnt had anymore breakdowns or memory issues but there were other things. It was almost as if Noctis was not used to his body or couldnt feel it right. He stumbled bumped into things and was clumsy not to the point of severity but he bever was before. His magic felt different as well bigger more vast and powerful. Was there some issue with hia magic? Was it what was causing the problem. He thought back to the doctors scan and how Noctis hand no magic for a while there was this a side effect of that? Did his body need to adapt to his magic once more?

i was NOT expecting a brilliantly written masterpiece about colonialism, but thats what i got, and its going in the greatest of all time hall of fame in my brain forever.

im not gonna sit here and regale you on the message of the movie. they only said fax, no printer, and its an important message to send kids. alot of the messages kids get about races and borders is “we are all the same 😚” but they came in with the “we are NOT the same and that is both good and bad, both exciting and dangerous so you need to be aware of dangerous ideas of “harmony”” and thats so real. kids need to understand differences are OK.

i love how they backed off the “chosen one” vibe poppy had in the first movie and talked about her flaws as a leader. while her stubborness was a good thing in the first movie to contrast branches pessimistic nature, it wouldnt have worked here, and i can see a cheap writer (like m*chael w*ldron) either insisting she gets away with her selfishness and carrying on with the happy ending anyway, or pretending that wasnt a character trait at all (because w*ldron doesnt watch the first movie and writes a sequel anyway)

my favorite scene is the bubble scene and the woods right after they leave funk where branch confronts poppy. do i even need to tell you why?

i just want to mention it because im pretty sure branch sings a cover of “girl crush” by little big town, which is a country band, and branch said he likes country music earlier and that slays. but when poppy comes in, what they sing is definitley not girl crush, and i cant tell if its giving “trolls can mix music” or im completley wrong and its a different song alltogether. but i cant tell if that song is homophobic or is super gay, so if im wrong thats prob for the best.

the only flaw i can think of is the country music, as a midwestern i can confidently say that was an affront to real blue grass country music. i guess born to die “works” but it didnt represent country as well as the other genres did. theres alot of controversy in the country music fandom with alot of singers who sound exactly the same and produced like its a factory line. but even if people still think miranda lambert and carrie underwood arent true country singers, their songs wouldve worked better than born to die. also the country trolls shouldve been on a self sufficient farm instead of the wild west. that wild western jazzy piano and country music isnt the same.

the only bad part about the movie is that it ended and barb ATE. SHE LEFT NO CRUMBS WITH THAT INTRO. send ask.

I love parallels between her and Poppy, how both had different intentions (Poppy wanted to help and Barb wanted to conquer) but Poppy's method was also wrong and both Poppy and Barb and everyone had to make compromises for all tribes to live in harmony because no one has to change their lifestyle for that to happen, all they have to do is accept that they're different and that's perfect. Reviewing Dutch versions as a Dutch bc i can lol - Ferdinand (2017)

Well guys, today we are reviewing the dutch version of Ferdinand, a movie about a sweet careful bull that was originally bred for bullfighting, but he doesnt want to fight. I wont be out here explaining the whole thing - pls just watch the movie - but he ends up in a bullfight bc of being chosen by a matador.

I watched this movie in English and Dutch (i think its really ironic how this movie has a Spanish dub, just like how Turbo has a French dub) and i enjoyed both of them. But lets cover the dutch voices by my opinion.

Ferdinand

Voiced by: Rico Verhoeven

Holy shit, when i tell you Rico's role in this movie was advertised, it was ADVERTISED. I remember seeing ads about Rico voicing Ferdinand everywhere in 2017, but does it live up to the hype?

I have no idea how to say this so i will try my best. I will just start off by telling you that Rico Verhoeven is a really well known / popular kickboxer in the Netherlands, and we all know him, he has a lot of fans, everyone here has heard about him at least at some point. I never thought he would voice act, considering his career and what he is known for, but his work in this movie was surprisingly good for someone who has never had such an important role in a movie before. He had like background voices sometimes, this was his first major role (for as far as i know) and he handles it quite well. He was really proud of this movie and he loved being part of it, and to be honest, you can hear that. Rico really brings his own spark into the character, like how thats supposed to be. What i love about dubs is how all the actors have a chance to bring a new vibe to a character by giving them just a voice. Rico's performance in this movie wasnt phenomenal, but for his (i think) first major role, he definitley did very well and he can for sure be proud of this movie.

Valiente

Daan... oh, Daan.

You guys follow me for my Dinotrux stuff (Don't worry i know ;]) so what if i told you that Daan van Rijssel was the Dutch voice for Splitter in Dinotrux? Yes, i'm not kidding. Daan was in Dinotrux, so all i heard was Splitter (mostly bc Daan uses the same voice for Valiente and Splitter)

I seriously cannot get a clear explaination of the voice of this guy. His voice souds kind of raw, agressive, somewhere in between, and its strangely fitting for Valiente. Daan van Rijssel is genuinly a really good actor. He just has the right voice for this type of work, with these kind of characters. Especially in the fight scenes, i think Daan van Rijssel did one of the best perfomances in this movie. Just like he did in Dinotrux. He really suits his characters and makes them feel real. Respct voor jou, Daan! 👊

Lupe

Out of all the characters in this movie Plien definitley has the memorable and regocnizable voice, next to Rico. Plien Bennekom is a Dutch actress who has played in a long running educational Dutch TV program that is to this day still very popular titled Het Klokhuis (in English: The Apple Core) wich is a program for young and older kids, it teaches kids about different topics every episode, with sketchcomedy and funny animated videos in between, and it did super well. I watched het Klokhuis a lot when i was young, and Plien played the role of Marie Louise, basically a really rich bratty woman, who contantly tries to buy expensive stuff or tries to get her way, but fails. So when i heard Lupe for the first time in Dutch, i immediatly remembered the voice from Het Klokhuis, i searced it up and it turned out to be Plien.

Now lets cover her job on Lupe. Honestly? Its hilarious. Pliens voice suits Lupe so ridiculously well, she adds her own vibe to this character and does it in such a way it makes me laugh out loud. Just like i was magically enough not annoyed by Lupe at all even though she's supposed to be the funny sidekick wich is a role i usually hate, Plien adds even more to Lupe. Her depiction of Lupe is genius. I can just imagine Marie Louise going EEEW EEN GEIT when she sees Lupe, omg i just got the perfect crossover fanart idea.

Angus

Voiced by: Mike Weerts.

Hear me out. I love it when Dutch dubs depicts accents. Angus is originally voiced by David Tennant, so throughout the movie he has a very heavy Scottish accent. Now it would be a total shame if they would let this guy speak formal Dutch, right?

Im very glad it wasnt turned into a very heavy Flemish accent, with a soft G that most Dutch people hate. Brabants is pretty much Dutch with a slight accent and a few added words. Het is niet ✨️irritant✨️, het is ✨️aMbEtAnT✨️

I honestly really like that they kept an accent in this Dutch version. If there is a Flemish version of this movie (i don't know if there is) it will prbb be very hard to add something new. I have never heard of this actor before tho :( continuing with

Who is voiced by a youtuber named Furtjuh, a Dutch YouTuber that is huge. This is honestly so stupid that movies keep inviting people that just have a huge name. Its hard to have a big name in the Netherlands so as soon as someone does, like Furtjuh, they invite em over to movies while most of the time they can barely even act or add anything to the character they voice. Furtjuh is a Youtuber, not an actor. Rico Verhoeven has a big name, but at least he CAN ACT and actually ADD something to his character. He sounds regocnizable, but GOOD. Furtjuh doesnt add anything nor does he necessarily sound good. He sounds regocnizable but not good. I don't hate it, i just don't think Furtjuh is a good voice actor, but thats my opinion

Anyway, that was my main review. The other characters, i dont really have a lot to say about, they just sound ok in my opinion •_• anyway thats it. Hope you enjoyed it mirmirmir 😁

look my opinion on persona 1 is that it definitley suffers from being the first game in a series and also being from 1996 but not in a way that makes it like, a bad game. it's really good i love the cast and the story and MAKI and its just like so tragic to me that it gets dismissed out of hand by a lot of ppl just for its 90s clunk which I didn't even find to be that bad personally... but that being said i think p1 is definitley a game that would benefit from some kind of remake just to add like. more dialogue and scenes and stuff.. thats the main thing is that after playing p2 i'm like i wish persona 1 had this much like connective tissue to give you more time to really enjoy the party members and stuff. but the issue is that my vision here is just like persona 1 but in the style of persona 2 which will never happen in this day and age
