and did bruce not, in the end, have a hand in jack drake's death as well? did tim becoming robin not seal his father's fate? we can talk in circles about the delegation of guilt but batman's quest to make no more orphans has, undeniably, made an orphan of robin
#of course i don't think it's bruce's fault that jack's dead i'm just being dramatic but i just so love this vicious cycle of orphanhood#dc#batman#bruce wayne#tim drake#poor jack i wont tag him he's already dead anyways#dcposting#i've definitely posted something along the lines of this for ditf jason lives au and thats bc it applies to both situations#i love the bitter irony of it i love when batman is a tragedy

There's such delicious dramatic irony in Martin saying, "This isn’t about saving the world, it’s all just some power play against [Elias.]" and being right about that! Peter's ultimate goal isn't to save the world, it's to be the one to end it, and, in the short term, to win a bet -
but Martin's also wrong about his own unimportance, because this is perhaps the clearest shot anyone had at stopping the apocalypse. and if Martin had actually killed Jonah here, the Spider would've had a real hard time fixing that gap in their web
@a-mag-a-day
#not impossible#but by just the fact that the web doesn't actually try to cause the apocalypse themselves#id wager that they... cant. t#thats way too direct for the power of manipulation to be able to do#they have to manipulate other powers and people to enact their plans#they can nudge and pull and push but i dont think they wouldve been able to send an effective hello Jon#tma#a mag a day#martin blackwood#martin#tma s4#the magnus archives#and martin talks about this whole thing later as well of course#also martins interactions with villains keeps being delightful of course#Elias again not actually lying to him#maybe martin wouldve done it anyways... if Jon hadnt been at risk of being affected by the fall-out#or do yall think at this point he was too lonely to care about that#joos yaps#idk if dramatic irony is technically the correct term#but yall get it

i should be on game changer. i had the "yes or no" game completely solidified by question 5. i knew what was up by question 3 but knew it completely by 5. i feel godly.
#im GOOD at these and i get so frustrated when they're not understanding what i know already#dramatic irony. but its not even dramatic irony. just me solving it faster. thats all. its just me being fucking annoying.#game changer#dropout

heres a treat for the three of you that follow me for voltron. remember that gravity falls au from a million years ago? probably not but here you are anyway!!
[ID: A six panel comic, drawn in a loose sketchy style that could resemble the Gravity Falls style if it were finished. The backgrounds are traced from shots of the gift shop of the Mystery Shack.
Panel 1: Lance leans over the register and hooks an arm around Pidge to see what book she's reading. Pidge looks disgruntled. Lance says, "Oh, Mothman? Are you into that cryptid hunting stuff?"
Panel 2: Lance squashes Pidge a bit so that he can make a frame with both his hands. Pidge protests "HEY". Lance continues, "Have you thought about investigating Keith?"
Panel 3: Through Lance's hand frame, we see Keith, who is stocking shelves and not paying attention. Lance says, "I swear that guy's not human."
Panel 4: The same image as before, except now Keith is looking at Lance and flipping him the bird. Lance says, "I mean, just look at that mull-" but is cut off when Shiro says "Lance."
Panel 5: Shiro, who is also stocking shelves, looks very tired. He has a box of gnome statues tucked under his missing arm, and is holding one of the statues in his other arm. He says, "Just. Why."
Panel 6: Lance lifts his arms and smiles, saying, "Sorry Shiro!" He is still leaned most of the way across the register, but Pidge has escaped his grasp. She is frowning at him and holding her book protectively to her chest. End ID.]
#vld#lance mcclain#keith kogane#pidge gunderson#takashi shirogane#pidge holt#??? is that the one thats more popular???? i guess its more TRUE but its always pidge gunderson to me#no hunk sorry hunk#my art#was the tag for this just#gravity falls au#i have no idea its been so long#anyway im experimenting with actually formatting comics for scrolling on tumblr#i tend to format my comics as if they were pages but. they are not. so that sucks for people actually reading them#im actually pretty pleased with the dialogue#i feel like i hit the rhythms of the banter right. its got references to the show. its got dramatic irony

"this world will live on...!" girl no it wont im sorry
#posts in a drainage system#still. undyne's death monologue in genocide is really cool tbh#because really. we dont know how many monsters alphys managed to evacuate. we dont know how big the underground really is#there are ABSOLUTELY parts of it that you never explore in game and thats so wild to me. like.#even though alphys isn't fighting you directly she's probably one of the most important people in the narrative during the genocide run#and yet . none of it really matters in the end. does it#because by the end of genocide you have to make the decision to kill them all in the blink of an eye—as youve been doing the entire game—#or try to convince yourself in one last desperate act that you werent guilty for any of this by letting chara erase the world instead.#the final choice of the genocide run honestly makes me so wacky. like man . i could go ON about that shit#anyways this was about undynes speech. but yeah its a perfect example of dramatic irony for people familiar with the story#and if you aren't. youve probably become dissociated from your feelings about these characters if youve gotten this far into the geno run#BUT this speech is still so powerful. like maybe the monsters WILL find away to live on after this. even after their families and way of#life have been completely destroyed. even though that's the complete OPPOSITE of what youre trying to achieve during genocide#agh . such a good game

finished the tv show. new vegas 2 confirmed???????
#this is a joke#review: pretty good! i like how they portrayed the brotherhood#kind of euuuugh on them trying to more definitively answer who started the war. no one knows and it doesnt matter yk.#but i liked the rest of the vault tec plot. 'cold fusion' both sounds like a lame cop out and like smth fallout would do#ending was weird bc we already KNOW what coop and lucy are looking for#that kind of dramatic irony will not carry you far before the audience gets frustrated#thats all i can think of. im very sleepy.#carly.txt

i am, really just fucking hoping theres gonna be more safety regulations around this kind of stuff now. and that the greek coast guard gets fucking sued. also that the submersible company gets sued. and nothing like any of these things happens ever again
#ik thats not gonna be the case but god this whole situation has not been good for my irrational-ish fear#of being told something is safe and then it turns out it really really isnt but its too late and horrible death happens#i feel no sympathy for the billionaires obvs but. can we acknowledge how fucking lucky it is that the horrble submersible#only ended up killing 5 ppl. thats still 5 ppl but it couldve been way more#like idc if a billionaire wants to die horribly they should not be allowed to drag other people down w them#they should not be allowed to have their METAL TUBE DEATH TRAP talked about POSITIVELY on a fucking SCIENCE WEBSITE THAT SHOULD KNOW BETTER#AND THEY DEFINITELY SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED TO USE IT TO TURN A GRAVESITE INTO THE WORLDS LEAST SAFE TOURIST TRAP#EVEN IF ONLY STUPID RICH PPL WILL GET ON IT#like you realize this is just the most extreme example of the kind of lack of regulation these guys get away with. like im glad the guy tha#made the thing met his horrible end with it but too many ppl don't get graced with this kind of dramatic irony#and besides maybe it should not be fucking legal to construct literal death machines even for dramatic irony#idk im tired of focusing on whether the guys had it coming for them or not its endless hell discourse#lets fucking talk abt how this whole thing should not have fucking happened in the first place#and i hope nothing like it ever happens again#if the billionaires want a horrible death i will give it to them myself and then outlaw their entire fucking existence (as billionaires)#im sorry im just fucking tired#roseflower.txt

What do you find more interesting? Apollo and Trucy finding out they’re siblings or they NEVER find out they’re siblings?
ask me ab trucy and phoenix or trucy and apollo. or trucy and anybody
you know what i never really considered the possibility that they wouldn't ever find out, even if the games refuse to let that happen? kind of just a post canon kind of deal i guess.
i guess them not finding out could be interesting, a family of choice situation, but i don't think it would be a satisfying character decision. what would be better is if they find out but it doesn't necessarily change their dynamic too much, and it's more of a "we already thought of each other in that way, this doesn't change much, and that's what really counts" kind of thing
#not having a sibling reveal EVER happen to them just like. i dunno. is lazy i guess#i think dramatic irony only really has merit if theres some kind of pay off which in that case there wouldnt be any pay off#and i know satisfying =/= interesting but i dont think thats applicable here#and if/when theres a sibling reveal that can be a great way to introduce conflict depending on the context of it#plus on top of the sibling reveal that would get into thalassa as well and not having that be satisfied would suck as well#i dont think you can really have one without the other if that makes sense#asks#dominicsorel

Midway through Andor and I don't have very solid thoughts, at least not ones that haven't been said already by ppl much better at saying them, but something about seeing the ppl on Aldhani have this religious experience while all this shit goes on behind them. The way the whole chaos of the interspliced scenes quiets for a moment as the sky lights up - and then it's right back to the heist because they don't care because they can't afford to care and it's not their belief anyway
The empire sees the Eye as this thing to gawk at and Cassian and co are looking at the Eye as part asset part obstacle, just something to navigate through, and it would be easy to stay with their perspectives, but instead we get these moments of wonder and community, the culture that these people are trying to protect independently of all this galactic scale stuff - and then of course we also know that the empire is doing their level best to take that away too
I'm not phrasing any of this well but man that aspect of it really got to me and I'm not even sure why, fully
#id like to believe this doesnt blow back on the Aldhani ppl but also. hm. its gonna#so thats an added layer of horror in dramatic irony form right there#knowing how the empire operates and whats happening during this celebration#star wars#andor

all homestuck aside, the thing tlt is giving me more than anything is evillious chronicles swag
#high stakes fable morality drama + fucked up reversed scifi timeline with a highly technological past + project ma#+ a very specific kind of vagueness in the world building that stems from just focusing on a character related slice + fluidity/mishmash of#genre + the vibe of god + question answer thing thats umi yeah but its giving me dramatic irony duo sin songs more#except it isnt you know a vague media project with books that are barely translated. obviously

Weird thought but like. How its the Thing to poke fun @ espresso for his WEIRD thing abt not sleeping enough for other cookies standards or how its SO SAD how he overworks himself. Does he neglect sleeping a lot, sure yeah the game does make it obv he is constantly tired. Does he have a slightly self destructive work ethic, yeah probably. But ppl really neglect to mention that despite the harm 2 himself he could be causing 2 himself from our perspective and other kingdom cookies perspectives it was the coffee tribes Thing to do this bc it was well within their abilities to stay up days at a time and willingly did so to do their jobs in the dark cacao kingdom, that was their point of pride. And it really reflects the weird sentiment ive mentioned before that ppl have abt dark cacao kingdom where they see the cookies live in desolate conditions and so depend on each other a lot and are strict on themselves to make sure everyone is provided for, and see this as depressing to watch bc they add this narrative on where the cookies who live this way are really unhappy and arent willingly committing to the cacao lifestyle bc its not something they believe in. And you know what u could try not thinking that way
#like in essypoos case its a lil different cus he had to work to afford a home BUT#this is his willing routine and a lot of things around this r fanon inspired by.#the infamous gingerbrave and madeleine cocooning him to sleep etc#there arent actually that many indications hes seriously harming himself mentally for preferring to work the way he does#and in the same exact vein ppl project their own ideologies onto cacao kingdom#and suggest dark cacao is cruel for Starving his ppl or being overly strict on them#when there isnt like any indication whatsoever that the cacaoians are unhappy or dont believe in his authority. its the opposite actually#yes yes unreliable narrators dramatic irony etc but also sometimes ppl just have vastly different approaches to life than u do#like the dark cacaoians and thats okay

I read first person like im their conscience and they arent listening to me
wait do people read first person stories and think they're the ones in the story???
Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.
First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.
#i prefer 3rd omni because i like to know everyones thoughts and reasonings and stuff#ill read other povs but i dont enjoy being just as kept in the dark as the characters are#plus i enjoy dramatic irony#and i find thats easier to convey in 3rd omni

This started off as drabble but it's kind of becoming something okay now. Based on how it's going I think it'll be 2-3k words when it's done.
#spam tag#i love dramatic irony vro#hank believes everything brock says#brock doesnt want to lie but feels like he has to#thats kind of the main focus of this fic#it takes place some time after dean and hank find the clones#i might make a version of this in brock's pov too

my favorite aspect of horus rising is probably the amount of ironic foreshadowing. every time the luna wolves' loyalty to the emperor is mentioned i giggle a little. "maybe horus would die to protect the emperor" lmfao. "we are the servants and sons of the emperor we wont fail him" are you sure. "astartes dont fight astartes" loken. loken are you in the right headspace to receive information that could possibly hurt you right now
#ramblings#i already know the broad strokes of the heresy#but considering its called the HORUS HERESY#i imagine even those with 0 knowledge of its events can appreciate the lines about horus being Loyal TM#read through half of it wthin a week which isnt that quickly compared to 11 y/o me#working through all 1100 something pages of the narnia omnibus#but compared to my reading speed of the last almost 4 years (0. i havent read a single book since the witcher in early 2021)#ITS A LOT#ive also been reading the infinite and the divine on my phone but thats a lot less dramatic irony#and a lot more 'wow. old robot rivalry yaoi is real'#im not actively wh-posting yet im just reblogging shit but i had to get this off my chest

#its so much better for my blood pressure imagining rhea as not a paternal tyrant. you cant do that to a manakete#talk#her still being affected by the zanado massacre isnt her being unable to ''get over it'' its a metaphor for intergenerational trauma#her being morslly dubious doesn't change that#also its ironic bc that moment is her most justifiable action/reaction in the entirety of WC. you literally cant use thst scene to hate her#dramatic irony or whatever#*paternalistic FUCK me#GM is a gilded cage not an ivory tower#''should intsys have made the pope sympathetic'' is a separate convo that ppl like to collapse into the former#and thats ehy the discourse happened
