Wei Wuxian should be able to get drunk for once. I think he'd either be singing bawdy drinking songs on the roof of the Jingshi or he'd be getting irrevocably lost no matter where he is. He's found in the bushes behind the mountains like a cryptid, and then he's like "I can't believe you all got lost" (extremely slurred) as if he didn't get embarrassed by something Lan Wangji had said and just somehow disappeared when everyone looked back at him

I LOVE NIREI AKIHIKO SO MUCH

I've always had a soft spot for characters who act as walking encyclopedias/informants/information wielders. Nirei gives a refreshing twist to that because he really just loves knowing everything and anything without any ulterior motive. He's just naturally curious, and I think that's what makes him unique and strong in his own accord in a place like Furin, who is mostly filled with brawlers. What he might lack in physical skills (at the moment), he makes up for his intelligence. His moral and empathy are big pluses too! I feel like he's the type of character who "wants to know because knowing is his way of caring". He wanted to know more about Sakura because he cares for Sakura, he talks to Sugishita and learns more about him because he cares what Sugishita is struggling to feel, and his curious mind is his biggest proof that he cares a lot for everything and anything. I honestly can write an entire essay about him and how I'm truly amazed by Nirei but TLDR: i love him so much, he's such a bright and warm character so I do my best to capture that

so how does sliver and moon's first interactions go? is it during moon's early days, during pebbles' construction? or after pebbles?

Hardcore brainstorming and headcanons on Moonie and Sliver’s interactions below!

Firstly my Sliver disappears shortly after NSH and Wind are built (those two are finished at an unusually similar time). She never gets to meet Pebbles or Innocence.

Secondly she meets Moon waay before the local group is a thing. Way before local groups as a concept were even a thing. In the beginning there were just too few iterators for that to happen.

Moon was one of the first. She is OLD. Moon is a senior supreme. Sliver comes perhaps one or two generations after her so the difference isn’t all that big there.

At the time, local groups weren’t a thing and different cities talked to each other and had to nudge their children to interact and be working partners (or even groups if there were enough participants for that). All in the hopes that the great problem would be solved faster.

This is kind of what happened to SOS and LTTM! Their colonies started talking and so those two were nudged to become working partners of sorts.

Moon at the time was a bit less willing on the whole group work shenanigans, because she felt fully capable of working on her own. But it is what her parents wanted so she went along with it.

Too bad Sliver saw that as an opportunity to make a friend and not a working partner. She didn’t care all that much about focusing her processes on anything more than getting to know Moon better. And when Moonie didn’t really open up to her proposals of friendship, she just started being annoying instead and poked her.

Thas was only their for first few interactions though. Maybe not the most pleasant at first, but Sliver would soon gain a lot of respect for Moon’s determination and perfectionism. That is a person who always tries very hard no matter what, something she never manages to do herself. And she, from being slightly jealous, starts really looking up to her for it.

Moon on the other hand starts finding Sliv more and more genuinely entertaining and fun to be around. From being stuck in her own thinking box and fulfilling a certain purpouse, Sliver teaches her there is a lot more fun and wonder to be had in the world. Purpoused organism this purpoused organism that, Moon is her own person with her own autonomy. Life isn’t what others want from you. She really opened another way of thinking for Moon which that early in the timeline was something she’s never even considered properly.

Both get to learn a lot from each other and form a relationship out of mutual respect and care. Augh they are just so wonderful.

as much as i love casino quartet being a silly lil sitcom style polycule that's very light hearted, you cannot deny that there is definitely angst potential with all of team chaos leaving red in the dust. like i get clownzy being gay was the highlight of s3 for a lot of people but like. they Did leave red in the dust while ash was basically in the ls equivalent of a coma and red Did have to betray them because they weren't clear on their plans . that is a Thing that happened that i think some whump writers might enjoy . just a thought

i get that it's fun from a fan perspective and i'm not trying to disparge that, but I think analysis wise, trying to overly determine scientific understanding to the canon framework kind of. misses the lens through which the framework is asking to be understood in the first place.

it's in the name and what's associated w it. the literary canon which upholds a specific body of texts as worthy of acclaim. the 'canon' as used in a colloquiel sense in fan communities to talk about about what elements of a text are unquestionably certain. hell (though i'd personally say spiderverse probably isn't intentionally invoking this subtext), canon as law by which you are judged.

'canon' in spiderverse is specifically being utilised as a vehicle for the characters to question the purpose of suffering within their lives (and because they are characters for which these aren't imagined stakes, they place it within a framework of fate), and as the means to ask the audience to interogate why we we uphold particular elements or beats of The Spiderman Story as ‘legitimise’ that retelling
