idk Leo’s attitude during the chase scene at the beginning of the movie makes total sense if you have siblings tbh

Leo’s unresolved character arc in the show is feeling like his family doesn’t trust him. part of this is his own fault bc he withholds information from them and acts like a goof even when he’s secretly taking things seriously (like in Many Unhappy Returns), but sometimes he DOES act serious and is still brushed off. In Bug Busters, he pulls Raph aside multiple times to try to talk w him about Big Mama, no joking around, but Raph dismisses his concerns bc.... idk? it’s Leo??

I say this with all the love for Raph in my heart, but if my big brother, who is 2 for 2 on Not Trusting Me When I’m Right, came up to me saying I’m not taking things seriously enough (the exact same thing he said the LAST time I was right) I would ABSOLUTELY risk starting an apocalypse to prove him wrong lol

okay my day has been MADE

so for context, my main job (out of 2) is being a caregiver and i typically work with children (attendant, habilitation, and respite), but i literally just walked home from my shift a few minutes ago and my neighbor's daughter was so excited to see me and gave me a drawing and a leaf from her family vacation. we yapped for a bit since she hadn't seen me in a while and guys it was so so so wholesome and sweet i thought my teeth were rotting. and she told me the colors in my hair were cool. kids are just the sweetest things the maternal instincts in me literally screamed.

i dont really want kids of my own right now or anytime soon but man i thought i was gonna cry augh i feel better now 😭

atsushi laughs almost immediately, blinking away the impending tears and wavng their hands in front of them. "sorry. you don't... that was stupid of me to say. i'm-"

kyouka slides beside them, curling up against their side. she head plops on their shoulder.

they're warm and shakey, and kyouka feels soft on atsushi's neck.

"i don't mind staying."

honestly, she wanted to stay. no matter how many times she watches atsushi - her sibling by everything but blood - get stabbed, the more she fears for them.

it's a little foolish, she knows; she's been familiar with blood and death and gore since her parents died. limbs being torn off and blood slowly oozing out of the body doesn't scare her.

but it does when she sees it happening to atsushi.

(and she doesn't say anything, but atsushi isn't the only one who gets nightmares - she's just better at keeping them quiet)

"you're just a kid..." atsushi mumbles, breaths shaky and uneven. "you shouldn't have to-to comfort me."

even so, kyouka soon feels the cool pads of their compression gloves rubbing her wrist.

"doesn't matter," she says, because she knows you're still a kid, too only upsets them more.

"okay."

they whisper it so quietly the only reasons kyouka hears it is because of her assassin training.

good.

she snuggles closer still and listens to their heartbeat. it starts off quick, but gradually falls until it's steady.

and kyouka is able to fall asleep with the reminder that her sibling is still alive.

I think that all three of the yunmeng siblings were inseparable, as jiang yanli says, they "should never be parted", but I feel like jiang cheng and wei wuxian were always Physically together. when they're young they are Always next to each other and Always seeking each other out. you never see one without the other! they must have been so used to always being physically together. how unnatural to separate two inseparable things...

literally all in the span of 3 moons she: has an apprentice, is made deputy, becomes pregnant, goes on a quest to save her dumbass leader while pregnant, leader decides to RETIRE and she becomes leader, GIVES BIRTH, decides "fuck this" and makes her apprentice into a warrior despite him not having finished his apprenticeship
