Steal My Thunder (T.Owens)
Pairing: Tyler Owens x female reader, Tyler Owens x shy!reader, Tyler Owens x insecure!reader
Word Count: 462
A/N: Welcome to my first Tyler Owens fic! I was throwing fic ideas around before I even saw the movie. I watched several interviews and other stuff on YouTube and took notes even. Then after seeing it the third time, I started working on this story. I don't anticipate this being a real long story, but I also will be a little slow to update because of work or writer's block or working on a crochet project I really need to finish. What I'm really saying is please be patient with me. Secondly, like in my other works, I'd planned to make this with a plus size!reader in mind, but I decided to go with insecure because I want to try and be a little more inclusive. Also, unless otherwise stated, my readers are always female readers. Lastly, I'm already working on Chapter 1, so keep an eye out for that. However, if you really like this, please let me know and I can tag you in future updates. And as always, I will be crossposting this to AO3. If you see this story anywhere besides AO3 or Tumblr, it's stolen Kthxbye! PS: Thanks to KJ & Jordyn for their help in beta-ing and title/chapter ideas! Love y'all!
Prologue
You were a Lead Meteorologist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. You should not be handling school age tour groups. You were just about DONE with being treated like a secretary. The rest of them thought that just because Kate was gone that they could go back to treating you like they did before her.
You were quiet, shy, and someone whose love language was acts of service, so you loved to help people out. The problem was that your co-workers abused that part of you. They asked to lead the school groups, bring everyone coffee, put together packets for meetings, etc. Complete nonsense…and you were done.
It was then, as you mentally typed up your resignation, that you received a serendipitous call from Kate herself.
“I believe the sayin’ is ‘No man left behind’.”
“You’re not an US Army Ranger, B.”
“Yeah, well…” You trailed off, not wanting to burden your friend with your issues. Kate always told you that it was okay to talk to her when you needed someone, but you were stubborn. You were very much of the ‘friends aren’t therapists’ mindset.
“Talk to me B.”
“I’m happy for you, ya know? You’re back to doing’ something I know you loved. I can see it in your eyes with each video or stream I watch.”
“Okay, keep your secrets…and thank you. I am happy.”
“So…what can I do for ya? Why are you botherin’ me on my lunch hour?”
“Damn! Sorry about that B.”
“You know I don’t actually care. Tell me what’s up.”
“I’m callin’ with a job off-”
“I’ll take it.”
“Woah, I haven’t even said what it-”
“I don’t care. Ever since you left, and because I’m a huge push over, everyone’s been walking all over me. You know I had to do three tours today?”
“We’ve talked about this.”
“I know Kate. Just…what’s the job anyway?” Your friend was silent for a moment, before you heard her exhale.
“It’s storm data analysis really.”
“Elaborate.”
“We’re trying to really get down to the nitty gritty with the data from the EF-5 we got to dissipate last season and see where to improve, how to catalog it in our info database, etc.”
“I’m in”, you said. “Y’all won’t treat me like some secretary, I’ll be close to home again, and I’ll get to spend all my time with you.”
“We most definitely will not treat you like some secretary. We’re equal opportunity storm chasers out here.”
You tossed your empty sandwich bag into the trash and pulled up Word to start drafting your resignation letter.
“Say, what are the benefits as a Tornado Wrangler?” Before Kate could reply, you heard Boonie baby! Woo! in the background.
With that enthusiasm, what could possibly go wrong?

so i’ve been posting a lot lately about paper girls (2022) and it just occurred to me that not everyone actually knows or has watched the show.
SO LET ME AMEND THAT!
paper girls is a 2022 (unfortunately) limited series on prime video featuring four 12 year-old paper girls from small-town ohio who get caught up in a time-spanning war between two rival factions. during this time-travelling journey, they each encounter versions of their future selves in various ways, learning how their lives have gone as they attempt to reckon with who they currently are, who they’ll grow up to be, and how — maybe — they can change that trajectory.
between moments of intense action and lighthearted comedy, the show really shines with its character moments. this is ultimately a coming of age story about erin tieng, tiffany quilkin, kj brandman, and mackenzie “mac” coyle. these four girls each have their own problems to grapple with, and each of them get some really stellar payoff in the series’ first (and only 😭) season, along with some truly and honestly heartwarming or rib-tickling moments of bonding between the group and various pairings within the group.
think stranger things but with a main cast of girls instead of boys and time travel instead of interdimensional monsters. also better, because the show takes the plights of its young protagonists seriously. the 80’s aren’t glorified, the girls face period-appropriate bigotry (while not in abundance, though, thank god), but their futures aren’t always sunshine and rainbows either. they have troubles and feelings that the narrative focuses on and gives proper space for instead of simply sidelining them for the plot, and there’s about an apparent growth over the season but an experience that makes the girls more nuanced and complex fairly immediately than most kid protagonists. god, i seriously can’t get over how good this show is !!
anyways, everyone needs to watch paper girls. amazon unfortunately didn’t renew it, and while legendary is still shopping it around, there’s unfortunately little hope for a continuation (even if it would really only need one season to wrap the story up, if that’s what it needs). that all said, it’s well well worth the investment and an excellent alternative to some other tired series, especially with the strength of its main cast.
I IMPLORE YALL WATCH PAPER GIRLS 😭😭😭
edit: yes there is a gay character who has one of the best on-screen arcs of coming to terms with her own sexuality and an especially beautiful and touching scene of affirmation from a future person. i won’t spoil who it is or what the scene entails but it’s seriously just. so touching and so affirming and beautiful
#paper girls#i wanted to be concise but also educational#i’m the end i think i just went off about why i love this show without spoilers#it’s both mature and sincere and really really gets that coming of age period in peoples’ lives#plus the time travel plot - while a little sidelined - is really really fun#and creates some creative and unique scenarios for its main cast#fr please watch this show i can’t be in hell alone here

Reading update!
So as you'll see below I've read a lot of books since the last time I did one of these. I'm not going to write a little blurb for all of them, only the ones I feel strongly about. But I'm going to start including my ratings.
Arctic Sun by Annabeth Albert. 4.25/5 stars
Where We Left Off by Roan Parrish. 5/5 stars
Peter Cabot Gets Lost by Cat Sebastian. 5/5 stars
This book was just. So lovely. Short and fast-paced, but I loved Peter and Caleb so much. I love the time period too. I know this is me being toxic and problematic and showing my internalized homophobia or whatever but I actually really like books set in places and time periods where homophobia is a real and present danger. I think it's because I'm totally a Love Conquers All romantic, so the fact that people dgaf and make a go of being together anyway scratches that itch.
Anyway, good book. I picked up the other two in the series but haven't read them yet.
Let's Get Back to the Party by Zak Salih. 4/5 stars
Literature. Good but pretty sad.
No Gods For Drowning by Hailey Piper. 3/5 stars
The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas. DNF
I got 50 pages in before I gave into my hate and DNFed this.
The Lost Future of Pepperharrow by Natasha Pulley. 5/5 stars
I find it genuinely upsetting that Natasha Pulley isn't a household name, because she writes the most beautiful, gutting books that I have maybe ever read. I don't understand how she's able to write what is, on the surface, a completely mundane sentence, and yet there's this roiling sea of heartbreak underneath it.
This is the sequel to The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, easily one of the best books I've ever read, and this one is at least as good.
Natural Enemies by Roan Parrish. 4/5 stars
Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. 3.75/5 stars
Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh. 5/5 stars
Lovely little novella that read like a fairy tale.
The Prince's Poisoned Vow by Hailey Turner. 4.25/5 stars
At first I despaired of ever learning who all the characters were in this book because the first like, 10 chapters were all from a different POV, but I got a handle on all of them and liked it a lot.
Spectred Isle by KJ Charles. 4.75/5 stars
Un Lun Dun by China Miéville. DNF
This is the book that made me realize I hate whimsical books.
Here the Whole Time by Vitor Martins. 4/5 stars
The Lightning-Struck Heart by TJ Klune. 3/5 stars
I ranted about this one already but Jesus, Klune. This straight up reads like the kind of stuff I wrote when I was like, 14, and I don't mean that as a compliment to my 14 year old self.
Love, Hate & Clickbait by Liz Bowery. 5/5 stars
!!!!! This book was so good!!!! I picked it up way back when it came out but it only surfaced in the TBR pile in March, and it did not let me down. Thom and Clay are SO unlikable, but you start to like them in a way that's practically insidious because you don't see it coming. By the end, I was totally rooting for them and loved them both. And this is a romcom with a truly great villain, too, which definitely isn't standard in romances.
Red Skies Falling by Alex London. 5/5 stars
Second book in a series that revolves around a culture where falconry is hugely important. If you want fantasy that doesn't take place in fantasy England, check this series out. It has an A+ sibling relationship, a lovely romance, and high stakes. But this one was saaaaad ugh so sad.
Less by Andrew Sean Greer. 3.75/5 stars
I hated this book until about 80% through, and then it subverted all my expectations and I ended up liking it okay. I thought it was just about a pathetic middle aged gay white man (I know I know, that's my type, what's the problem?) feeling sorry for himself, but it was deeper than that. And it had a nice ending.
Invitation to the Blues by Roan Parrish. 4/5 stars
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. 5/5 stars (reread)
Bought this edition for the bonus chapter from Henry's POV and for @vkelleyart's end pages. Totally worth it. I love this book just as much as I did the first time.
Threshold by Jordan L Hawk. 4.25/5 stars
So this is a series with like, 11 books? I read the first one and was kind of eh on it. Good enough to buy the second, not enough to buy all 11 or whatever. But the second one was substantially better, so now I've acquired like 5 more of them. I continue to be a sucker for late 19th century/early 20th century settings.
Lavender House by Lev AC Rosen. 4.5/5 stars
Is gay noir a thing? Because that's what I'm calling this book. Gay noir. I loved the main character and I'm really excited this is going to be a series (I've already preordered the second one). The only reason I knocked off half a star is because some of the side characters were irritating. And as a mystery, it wasn't great, so I wouldn't read this one if you're looking for a really good mystery. It's definitely more about the character development and the relationships.
Though possibly one reason I didn't think the mystery was that good is because it got spoiled for me on tumblr by someone who imo had a pretty shallow read on the book. Honestly not sure if they actually read it or they just skimmed it.
Something Wild & Wonderful by Anita Kelly. 5/5 stars
AHHH. THIS BOOK!! This book was so good. So I've been making fun of it for a while because if you look at the cover, it looks like a Stucky AU. And you know what, maybe it was, but at least it didn't read that way, lol. It was really lovely and I'll be using it as a comp for the manuscript I finished last week.
The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley. 5/5 stars
I don't even have anything else to say except that you need to read Natasha Pulley's books. Please. If you're reading this post, go get her books. Buy them, take them out of the library, whatever. Do it.
Work for It by Talia Hibbert. 4.25/5 stars
A Tree of Bones by Gemma Files. 4.5/5 stars
Any Old Diamonds by KJ Charles. 5/5 stars
Something happened in this book that made me close it and stare into the middle distance, then put it aside until I could process.
Anyway you should definitely read it.
Farview by Kim Fielding. 4/5 stars
Whistling in the Dark by Tamara Allen. 4.25/5 stars
Currently reading The Restless Dark by Erica Waters
Which I'm enjoying more than I thought I would!

The stunningly wonderful @kjs-s made this gif for me, and I LOVE IT!
Clint Barton's sarcastic comment echoed through the room, and though his intent was humour, it struck a nerve within you. Pietro Maximoff stood nearby, seemingly unaffected, but you just couldn't let it slide.
"Clint, do you ever think before you speak?" you snapped, surprising even yourself with the intensity of your defence.
Pietro, leaning casually against the wall, raised an eyebrow in amusement as he observed the scene, glancing at his sister.
"What?" Clint asked, clearly confused by the outburst.
Your eyes narrowed. "You’re always getting on at him. I mean, I know he can be a cocky shit at times, but he’s just trying to find his place in this team and you being a dick is not fair or helpful.”
Barton looked from you to Pietro, trying to figure out if you were messing with him. “It- it was a joke.”
“Jokes should be funny, Barton. Making fun of his speed is just... it’s just... pathetic. He's saved our lives countless times, and all you can do is make snide remarks." You shot back, glaring at him.
Pietro popped a piece of chocolate into him mouth as he continued to watch the exchange, confused but a little bit pleased by your protective outburst.
“You’re going to step in before any actual punches are thrown, right?” Wanda asked her brother softly with a smirk.
“I don’t know, it’s kinda hot.” He grinned, his eyes running over you appreciatively.
"You should appreciate what he brings to the team instead of making stupid comments," you continued your tirade at Barton, your cheeks flushed with frustration.
Clint, held up his hands in surrender, trying not to smirk. "Alright, alright. I get it. No more Speedy jokes."
"Thanks for having my back there, sweetheart." Pietro said, his accent adding a playful tone, especially when combined with his grin.
You felt your face heat, suddenly aware of the spotlight on you. "No problem. Now, if you’ll all excuse me, I’m gonna go make sure Stark hasn’t recorded all that for future blackmail purposes."

Gentlemen of Uncertain Fortune #2
Wonderful story that kept me reading till 2am just because I wanted that happy ending for Cassian and Daizzel. I had no idea that it was a ways into a series BUT this was a standalone story and a delight to read.
What I liked:
* Cassian: orphaned at six, raised by his uncle, pampered and protected, much to live up to, feels overwhelmed at times, needs space, quick, caring, more than he realizes, has a great adventure, has an epiphany, comes into his “own”, perfect for and with Daizell
* Daizell: disgraced gentleman, down on his luck, silhouette cutter extraordinaire, outgoing, bubbly, abandoned more than once, trust issues, guarded, kind, caring, giving, protective, problem solver, perfect for and with Cassian
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing – drew me in and made me care
* That I could both like and dislike a character at various times and eventually like them indeed when their story was explained
* That it was easy to dislike the main villains
* The growing relationship with open communication and honesty between Cass and Dazz
* The bet and how it impacted more than one character in the story
* The sweetness of the romance and love that developed between the main characters
* The cousins and their part in the story
* The positive potential for the future
What I didn’t like: * Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how evil the main bad guy was and some of the things he did…hope he got a thorough drubbing…and perhaps even worse
* Thinking about the era with its rules, expectations, and how easily it was to fall from grace to despair
Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Dear H,
I wish I hated you. I wish I didn’t care what you thought of me. I wish we never met. I wish you weren’t one of my best friends. I wish I didn’t love you.
But I do, don’t I? I’ve been in love with you since I got to know you. I’ve fallen head over heels, and I wish I didn’t. It’s been a year and a half now, since I’ve realized, but no matter what, I can’t move on.
Oh believe me, I’ve tried. First Z, then JR, and hell, I almost kissed B to feel something. But it all comes back to you. It comes back to you and the stupid playlists and the songs of the day and the place we met. I haven’t had someone who knows me like you since my ex. But there’s one problem:
You don’t love me. You never have, you never will. Not like that. I’ve tried all my tricks. I waited for you to realize J wasn’t the one. Yall had a good run, and you still are both my friends. I can only hope that you don’t blame me for your relationship going up in flames. I know I helped you two get together, and I know it was bad how things ended. I’m sorry, even though the breakup wasn’t my fault.
Then, I confessed. God H, I told you. On February 1st 2023 I told you I liked you. That I had a crush on you since October 2022. And we both ignored it. It wasn’t brought up again except when I cracked jokes about how I only fall for people who will never like me back because they’re in love with someone else. I don’t know if you ever laughed about it. I had to. If not, I’d cry.
We did get closer, even though we were no longer in the same state. And I saw the videos you were reposting on TikTok. Videos about a crush on girl you liked, from a different state, who looked just like me. I foolishly thought that this was it. I gave my heart away to the second person ever and she was finally, finally going to take it and place it next to her’s.
Then you told me you wanted M. It nearly broke me. But I didn’t let it. Because I knew M had a boyfriend. You knew that too. Because us three and J were all friends. You knew M had a boyfriend, and M knew there was something between yall. It never did get fully resolved, but as far as I knew, you moved on.
We only got closer after that. Every time I see your name, my heart flutters and I smile. I can’t go a day without talking about you to someone. You sneak your way into every thought I have ever had. I am truly in love with you.
And I thought that this was it. The past couple of days I’ve been dropping hints, and you’ve returned some. I even asked you to drinks (on a not date) next time I see you.
And then, K.
You just told me. What the fuck? I should be angry. I should want to scream at you to not fucking date her. Date me instead. She fucking hurt you, J, and me when we worked together. I should be pissed at you. Pissed at her for asking you out.
But do you know what I feel instead? Hurt. Not by you. But because I thought I had a chance. I thought that by poor unruly heart was finally going to be protected again. But instead, it isn’t. You just asked if you should date K.
No. You shouldn’t. You should date me. But you don’t want to date me. So instead, I don’t say that.
I tell you to follow your gut. I tell you to go out with her and test the waters if that’s what you want and think is right. You tell me that I’m smart and you want me to figure it out. But H, you don’t understand, I did. I figured it out.
I had to break my own heart tonight. I gave it to you a long time ago without you knowing, but I had to take it back. Then, I had to crush it in my hand and be okay with my heart not being alright. I don’t know when I will love again. I know I won’t get over you that easily. You’re still my best friend. I don’t want to lose that.
I told you that I can’t make the decision, but to remember that if you don’t date K now, you could possibly date her in the future. Maybe she’ll wait for you. But I can’t anymore. If I don’t move on, I don’t know if my heart can take it.
I love you, Hannah.
I’m sorry.

coleulrich: I gotta say, outpatient treatment hasn’t been easy for me. It was hard for me to even admit I had a problem because I didn’t say it. My new doctor took me off all my old medications and started me on one single new one that I swear has already been a miracle worker. I started an outpatient detox and therapy treatment with meetings every week. I couldn’t have done it without the important people in my life.
My beautiful wife to be, Sienna, you’ve been my strength through these last few weeks and without you I would be lost in the darkness, you’ve always guided me through with your light and your love. I love you so much and I can’t thank you enough for not giving up on this mess of a man, but I’m getting better for you, for the kids and our future. I love you forever.
My incredible parents, you let me hang around you for a few weeks while starting my treatment and taking care of me when the withdrawls became almost too much for me to handle, you stayed right by my side. Dad, you’ve always been my hero, I’ve always looked up to you, that’s no secret. Thank you for never stopping loving me or believing in me, for taking care of me growing up and for always putting your children first. Superman ain’t got nothing on you. Mama dearest, you came into my life later but when you came in, you changed my life for the best, you gave me that motherly love a boy just needs sometimes and you’ve always taken me in as your own, hugged me through the night, called me when I needed you and just held me tight. I love you both so much.
My twin brother, the incredible Dylan Thomas, I was truly lucky to get a twin brother because I got a built in best friend. Thank you for calling me when I need you, for all the late night talks in the park, for all the times you caught me when I thought I was falling to rock bottom, you brought me light and strength when I thought mine faded. I love you and I don’t say that nearly enough.
KJ, the greatest of all time, my brother from another mother. You are amazing, I got the roommate jackpot when they paired us together from the get go. Thank you for always being there, for the hugs, for the words of encouragement and for always having my back when I felt like I was isolated and alone. I appreciate you and love you, brother. always.
There are so many others to thank and for all my family and friends, I love you guys and you truly don’t know how much you mean to me. I couldn’t do this without you.

Hello there! How are you doing?
Can i get a reading & mood board on relationship dynamics between me & my destined person?
My initials: KJ♌
Thank you
Thank you so much for your patience! 🪷 🤍 I highly appreciate your participation in my game.
— 7 of Cups (R) | 6 of Pentacles | 5 of Pentacles
I don't do moodboards, KJ. But I can offer you this piece of insight in your future relationship.
You and your destined person are meant to go through ups and downs. There will be good times, and there will be the bad times, and these are inevitable. But the advice here is to always be transparent with one another. You and your destined partner cannot overcome challenges if both of you don't open up with each other, and if the two of you are greedy against one another. Be reminded that they are your partner through thick and thin, and that you should work with them, not against them.
Have no fear, though. Whoever your future partner is, I can see that they will be exercising generosity in your relationship, and they will be very determined to work it out with you no matter what. You just have to have the same patience and resilience against the relationship problems, and to remind yourself that you are supposed to team up with them to overcome the obstacles. This is a relationship for the times, not for the lighthearted. Best of luck!
I hope you liked this reading! Don't forget to like or reblog this reading so I would know you saw it already. ⭐️ Feedback would be highly appreciated!

wait why is the trailer adaption of the paper girls disappointing? I did not read the comics so I would love to know why?
I really love the Paper Girls comic series, so for me an ideal adaptation would be pretty faithful to it. But worse than just it being different, the story that's presented in the trailer for the Amazon Prime adaptation seems less interesting and more generic to me, and I believe the changes fundamentally mess with the themes of the original series.
While it's necessary to talk about the Paper Girls comic series in some amount of specifics in order to explain how certain elements differ, I tried to avoid serious plot spoilers in case you'd like to read it, which I highly recommend!
First off, I was bothered that the trailer shows all the girls introducing themselves, when in the comic Mac, KJ, and Tiffany all knew each other before the first issue and Erin was the new girl in the group. It seems that in the show the girls are going to have vaguely known each other but weren’t friends before it started. A major theme of the comic is growing up and what you lose in the process and one particular part of that is the fear that the girls won’t be friends anymore. I think that having none of the girls be friends before the show starts inherently weakens that aspect of the story, which is disappointing because I found how it was portrayed in the comic very compelling.
Though I think the part of the trailer that raised the most issues for me was the introduction of Larry. In the trailer, the girls say that they need help and the older Erin says “I might know someone.” And now we see this new character that apparently knows about time travel and can explain some things to the girls. In the comics, what the older Erin actually says is “Who am I even supposed to ask for help with this?” In the comics, there is no comparable character nor plot device to Larry.
To me, the appeal of Paper Girls was that these kids get wrapped up in something much bigger than themselves and at no point does anyone sit them down and explain everything to them. Because you’re following these characters that don’t understand what’s going on as they get blasted to different time periods and are just trying to stay alive and figure out how to get home, they and the audience learn bits about the broader time travel conflict over the whole series. The audience is figuring things out alongside the characters and there are often things that happen that don’t get explained until many issues later, which is always done in a way that makes sense and is very satisfying to the reader. (This makes the series very rewarding to reread.)
I personally do not care about a story in which a bunch of kids get wrapped up in a time travel conflict much bigger than them... which is then explained to them by some adult. What I found interesting was following these young girls that had to figure things out for themselves and were largely only relying on each other.
It was also thematically important that these girls weren’t walked through everything, considering the major themes of generational conflict and what, both good and bad, is left behind for future generations, which these innocent kids are suffering the consequences of first hand. Introducing an adult that is apparently a trustworthy source of information on time travel so early in the story both takes away a lot of what made the original story so compelling and cheapens the exploration of the themes that the original was exploring.
The scene in which the girls meet the older Erin introduces similar problems when you look at how differently they play out in the comic compared to the show’s trailer.
In the comic, it’s a very serious interaction. The girls are understandably upset about some real issues that have serious stakes for them, but as they’ve already gone through some heavy stuff by this point they are keeping their heads on their shoulders. Whereas the older Erin starts crying as she starts to realize that the girl she’s speaking to is really her younger self. After this, the older Erin tries to help them, but she’s a 40 year old woman who is dissatisfied with her job and has a Xanax prescription and finds a group of girls from 1988 appearing in her life in 2016 very stressful. The girls find her unsettling and it’s a major question for them as to whether or not they can trust her.
In the show, the girls and the older Erin meeting is a funny moment where everybody starts freaking out. (It looks like the show is changing the story a bit so that it happens earlier and that it’s the moment when time travel becomes known to the girls, whereas in the comics the girls have already gone through stuff and know about time travel by that point.) What we see of older Erin after this in the trailer is her freaking out in an entertaining way or saying some kind of funny quip. The older Erin in the comics wasn’t a funny character, as I said the girls found her unsettling. The idea of whether or not kids can trust adults is a recurring one throughout the series, and meeting the older Erin is the first time it comes up when the kids aren’t in a hectic situation and have time to grapple with it. I also think this demonstrates a fundamental change in the tone of the series, which I find disappointing as I liked the original and don’t find this new approach appealing.
Also, the show just frankly looks visually very dull to me, which is sad to see in an adaptation of a series with such beautiful, colorful, interesting art from artist Cliff Chiang and colorist Matt Wilson. I understand that it can be hard to get across the same effect when adapting from comics to live-action, but Paper Girls series used to be compared to the Netflix show Stranger Things a lot, except with girls and time travel, and comparing this trailer to the Stranger Things season 1 trailer to me highlights how plain and lacking in unique vibe this show is.
I don’t plan on watching the Amazon Prime Paper Girls adaptation.
#I won't get into the specifics of how for spoilers sake but it looks to me like they're skipping the first arc#and combining the second and the fourth#with some elements of the first#which bugs me as a simplification of the story#I tried to avoid just listing changes and saying I was bothered by them just cause it was different#and focus on changes that present an issue like messing with the themes of the original series#I used the word themes so many times in this but that's their fault for messing with them#paper girls#inbox#my posts
