I'm new to the show having finally watched season 1, and this is probably a controversial take, but I hope to God that it goes even more off the rails from the source material in the 2022 timeline this upcomig season. In fact, I'd be cool with season 3 with TVL being it for the show. I don't need to delve into any of that nonesense that comes after.

#I read the books a long long time ago #up to QotD #(then randomly blood canticle)#because after that they seem to get progressively worse and worse #Lestat is f*king awful to Louis post reunion #idc what anyone says otherwise #and him essentually being made omnipotent is not something I need to see play out on screen #nor watch literally every other character being obsessed and in love with him #and him in love with all of them too #that's boring as hell #never have I ever been interested in Anne's raging hard-on for him as the “hero” of her series #I've only been a diehard Loustat girlie all these years because of fandom #that's the only saving grace for the Vampire Chronicles #the incredible fanwork #iwtv #amc iwtv

Laois from Dungeon Meshi legit feels like someone said the generic blond main character guy in a fantasy story can never actually be an interesting character in his own right and Ryoko Kui went, “Oh, bet?”

#dungeon meshi #delicious in dungeon #laios touden #I first saw him and thought oh no generic blond Everyman #this is usually the most boring character #and wow Laois is anything BUT boring like I started watching for Senshi #but by the end Laois is one of the most fascinating characters #which is a major feat for a character who has to be the hero and carry the plot to pull off #just speaking as a writer often your hero is stuck Doing the Plot so doesn’t get as many interesting quirks #but Laois just shows that making even the hero be weird as hell and want something is always a winning formula #imo the creator of the story saw it as a challenge to make him actually interesting and SUCCEEDED

there's just... there is no reason to make yet another cop show in this day and age. copaganda is not only bullshit, it is a failure of imagination.

you want to watch brooding characters with dark pasts investigate crimes in an official capacity? just use private detectives (cops have a miserable solve rate anyway). want eccentric geniuses & their sidekicks solving mysteries? i present you with armchair detectives & neighborhood busybodies. oh, you're craving a workplace comedy-drama starring overworked protagonists doing their heartfelt best to resolve community conflicts? social worker office sitcom! bitch this is ACHIEVABLE
