Why does the drow want kids?

Sorry for so many questions lol, was just thinking about your little guy and was curious (hope these haven't been asked before!)

Well, to start off you could technically say that he doesn't want them. Not in his canonical/redemptive timeline, anyway.

If he were partnered with someone who's capable of conceiving and it happened on accident, he would be happy about it at first, and it's definitely an idea that he thinks of fondly - but DU drow realizes that not only is his current life-style not fitting to raise a child, but there's also the whole... Bhaalspawn thing. As funny as it was to loom the threat of offspring over Jaheira's head, he wouldn't want to put a child in the world only for it to land in the clutches of Bhaal as he once was.

Jokes about his breeding kink aside, his remaining urge to reproduce will at times be as much of a punishment as his bloodthirst was. Forget about the morning-wood and the abstract obsession with sex - remaining empty-nested will, at some point, pull him into a hopeless sadness that will probably be difficult to crawl out of, and it won't be sated by getting a couple of cats or adopting an urchin.

That said, I don't think it's out of the question that they could come to foster or fully adopt a child, one day! Assuming they stay alive long enough. It's a cute idea that I have filed away for when the inspiration eventually strikes me.

...And Astarion and DU drow would definitely make for peculiar parents, lol, but not totally hopeless ones. They're incredibly capable people in their own rights, with a lot of potential to yet mature and grow assuming nothing goes horrifically wrong. I could see them striving to raise a very self-sufficient and practical child - teach it how to hunt! How to steal! How to butcher! When it's old enough to even understand such conversations, teach it how to murder and benefit from others. Teach it that the world is a weird, scary place, but you can take it by the horns and we will show you how to.

DU drow would be the type of father who more openly expresses affection and wants to spend every minute with the child - yet far more open to letting them make their own mistakes. Take risks. Get hurt. Then simply tell them to dust themselves off and move on.

Astarion on the other hand would probably make for a slightly more withdrawn dad (this isn't the type of love he's used to - not only from his years as a spawn, but far before), a funny one, but not particularly touchy or explicitly loving. On the flip-side I think he would have a much harder time letting them go off and do dumb shit, or at least he would try and pull strings so that things do go their way. He's the dad that reprehends you for getting caught stealing and getting beat up, but then goes off and kills the store-keeper without you ever hearing a word about it.

Hi!! :D

1) I use Clip Studio Paint! Unfortunately not a free program, but I'm very very fond of it. Definitely recommend it to anyone who has the money! My file size is about 1680px wide, I believe? With varying heights. I definitely wouldn't recommend doing it that way, but it's what works for me so :')

2) I made the font myself, actually! Highly recommend doing that tbh, it's a happy medium between getting something handwritten looking without having to spend a thousand years writing haha :D There are probably a hundred websites out there that let you make you own font, but I used Calligraphr

3) It depends! For me playing to about 12-15 moons ahead with a minimum of 6 moons works really well with my style and workflow. Makes me able to cobble together these small interpersonal plotlines while also letting me occasionally play and get new drama to get invested in these characters all over again about. But if I were going for something with a major overarching plot, I would probably go a lot further ahead, if not straight up take the playthrough as far as I'd want it/until a game over just to not risk rng screwing with my plans

4) I would suggest looking up comic panelling tips in general for a better explaination than what I can offer, but I'll try to explain my basic process :'D I mostly go by heart, but I do like to sometimes follow this rule of thumb I like to call the 'Z'

When we read text, we learn to go from left to right, then back to left at a slight diagonal to get to the next line. By following that simple shape when placing characters and especially text, it makes it flow much more naturally to us. And when your pages flow well, you get to break that flow when you want a scene to feel more tense! I tried doing that with the last two panels of the page above and I really liked how that came out :D

Another couple of tips is 1) try not to make the panels too uniform 2) if you want to use two panels for one scene, slanting the side of a panel can make it feel like they flow into each other better, like matching two puzzle pieces if that makes sense 3) small overlapping panels are great for reaction shots and so fun to do!

And lastly, don't be afraid to break the panel border!

It can add a lot of momentum and impact if used right! Plus it's so fun to do <3

5) No sorry, I don't do lighting/shading in my comics at all :'D

6) I have a couple posts here and here describing my own process a bit! But otherwise I'd like to refer to whisper-cats' response to this same prompt, it's pretty in depth and I think they give some really solid advice here!

7) Not particularly, just find a style that works for you the best. I don't do a lot of backgrounding, but when I do, it's in this lineless limited palette style because that's just my favourite kind of background to make

I do highly recommend trying to limit how much time you spend on a background. Don't burn yourself out on one panel because then you'll never wanna finish the whole page!

And for 8), I dont use references so sadly I can't give you any good recommendations there either :')

He def doesn't crash the gups like before, but I feel like at a certain point she absolutely made him help her. I headcanon that he actually started helping her alot more with repairs and etc as time went on, hes not some engineering genius but he can help

They're also both so proud of eachother and trust eachother so deeply, esp in The Ring Of Fire where they both had to escape the flooded (and on fire???) Underwater base that tweak used for big gup repairs and upkeep

Tweak loves old classic games and kwazii never really had too much exposure to popular media, unless u count his comics lol, I feel like autism meets adhd with them yk? U can't convince me that tweak wouldn't have introduced him to sonic the hedgehog and that he wouldn't have LOVED it

They have banter and inside jokes and they know eachothers habits and needs yk?

They look out for eachother, whether its trying to prevent the other (kwazii cough cough) from getting into trouble or being the one willing to risk their own safety to make sure the other is ok 🥺

Also for my own au kwazii did spend a considerable amount of his teen years alone, meanwhile tweak just has the autism where u do not know how to "live normally and properly take care of urself"

They both have atrocious sleep schedules me thinks, with kwaziis adhd making him be up at random hours and tweak falling deep into the rabbit hole (pun INTENDED)of engineering and working

I think he helps remind her to take care of herself without any judgement you know

Tweak is the type of person to not judge anyone either and just hear you out i think and kwazii seems like the type who would go waddle in a seamp for hours to dig out the necklace you lost just so u could be happy

So yes they love eachother and they mean the world to me 🥺

Kwazii is just so excited about everything this woman does lol, and she's like oh God this guy really is somethin and I think thats great

Shes just like sure hun to him yapping for 3 + hours about his idea to add fcking canons or some sht to the gups as she's welding stuff together

Also I think kwazii would be a decent mechanic for the gups after all the years of practice with tweaks supervision and teaching i mean he has whole mini pirate ship replicas in jars for crying out loud, as long as he can keep his brain engaged i think he has the ability to do precision work and repairs, esp since he did sail on his own by himself for years anyways

Woods pretty different from metal but tweak is patient with him, even if her "oh u fcked up" glare (and the weight of its consequences) could absolutely smite you on the spot

P5R Random Thoughts #3: Annoyance, Anger, and Conviction

Or, just a couple more random thoughts about Joker.

I actually do enjoy that Joker seems to sometimes get genuinely frustrated with his friends' antics - I don't know if it reads that way to anyone else, but a combination of his dialogue options and character model body language definitely reads that way to me.

He's gotten mildly annoyed with Ryuji's loudness on several occasions - often having dialogue choices that are essentially some variant of "keep your voice down!" Much as Joker feels what I suspect is quite a lot of gratitude for Ryuji's unflinching support and passion (he was his first friend in Tokyo, after all - no deal, just friendship), his dialogue options also become a lot more passive aggressive during early Kaneshiro arc - and small wonder, because Ryuji's eager carelessness actually did get them caught; thankfully by Makoto, and not law enforcement. Of course, he still cares a lot about Ryuji; I think he's just a little frustrated right now.

He's usually pretty chill with Morgana bossing him around - for what reason, I honestly couldn't tell you, but he does pretty much anything that not-cat recommends. However, when Morgana spontaneously invites Yusuke to stay with Joker without asking him, Joker kind of "!!" and looks at him. It's then followed up with everyone deciding to invite themselves to Joker's place, again, without asking him and Morgana encouraging it. The scene ends with Joker straight up elbowing/jostling Morgana in the bag after everyone's left for Leblanc. Pfft.

He tells Yusuke to hurry it up in Mementos when he gets too in the zone... and much as you can't rush an artist, they do near immediately get jumped by Shadows after that, so, you know, he does have a point.

Even with Ann, Joker frequently sweatdrops at her kind of out-there ideas of how to strengthen her heart. While I wouldn't call it annoyance, per se, there is at least one scene I can think of where two of the options straight up shut her down, and the last is basically a sarcastic "good luck with that", which Ann proceeds to take at face value as encouragement, leading to Joker sweatdropping once again. Lol.

So many of these are basically the equivalent of Joker going >:( at his friends and them typically completely not noticing which is funny as heck.

Also, because I'm the kind of person who loves to read into things, I think it can tell us a little more about Joker. What actually frustrates him here?

Drawing attention to the group in the real world - something he actively tries to avoid, at first, because of consequences for him, and then, because it puts the thieves at risk

Getting himself and the group into unnecessary trouble - so we've got two instances of Joker being mindful of potential consequences

People getting invited over without being asked first - this one's a little ambiguous as to why. Could be a simple courtesy thing, could be related to Joker's earlier obvious discomfort with people getting in his personal space without permission, could be that he likes his privacy. Personally, I suspect he's actually somewhat embarrassed and a little concerned about what his friends' reactions will be to where he's staying - I do have some reasons for this interpretation but ultimately, no matter what reason you ascribe, he's definitely not initially happy about this spontaneous invitation by Morgana.

I think we can even condense the first two and say that Joker seems to be a little more focused on outcomes and consequences than much of the rest of his group, who (before Makoto joins) very much people who act in the immediate moment. He's not quite on par with Morgana's brand of pragmatism, but he does seem to always be at least thinking ahead.

There are a few exceptions, however.

Joker's actual anger is something he is evidently not good at hiding. He has an excellent poker face, but his eyes and, apparently, the way he speaks give it away entirely. To hide his anger, he outright has to not say anything and obscure his face. That actually does not seem like someone who is especially good at hiding strong emotions, even if he can school the rest of himself.

Ann, of all people, has to make excuses for his obvious disdain towards a cop. Every single dialogue option is some flavour of snippy comment. His character model continues to stare directly at said cop, even after Ann interrupts.

He is not thinking about consequences here. Joker fucking hates cops, and he is either very bad at hiding it - or he has no desire to. A very similar thing happened with Kamoshida too. He has nothing but disdain for abusers with power and authority over those they hurt. He also outright doesn't trust the justice system at all after seeing how it failed him and so many others ("They do more than the cops" <-hello. on live tv no less.).

And this leads to something else that's actually a fairly interesting facet to his character that I'm curious to see if it'll get acknowledged in some way.

For the most part, despite the Metaverse confidence and flashiness (which I feel isn't a great metric anyways - all the thieves are like that), Joker responds to most compliments and successes by either complimenting the whole team in turn, or brushing it off as luck or not a huge deal. This is likely in part a cultural thing, but when it comes to genuine appreciation being shown, he does seem to have some semblance of humility about it all - which is why it's almost hilariously shocking how pushy he can be about helping others.

He chases after Ann because she's upset, even though initially she told him not to. He corners some of the students getting exploited by Kaneshiro and won't leave until they tell him the details, even resorting to playing into the rumours about him so that they'll talk. He overhears his confidants in some kind of trouble on several occasions and near immediately asks them about it, and then continues to bring it up if they don't elaborate. It's notable that these instances are some of the few things he decides to do himself, without Morgana's explicit encouragement. I suspect a lot of this is because he has so little faith in anyone else to do the right thing - he has no trust in the justice system, and most adults don't seem to care. But Joker cares, and he will listen to what happened, and he will do something about it, and he will help, and he does so by refusing to let up - he does not wait for someone to ask for help necessarily, he just kind of goes and does it. It's not like I can't see the rationale here, but it's also, kind of, a little bit... presumptuous, in a way.

Again, it's a fascinating contrast with his typical (at least apparent) humility, and his kind of wishy-washy dialogue from early game - Joker has always been firm about this.

The official forming of the Phantom Thieves at the buffet is a scene that really caught my eye for this. Again, much as Joker has the same level of anger as his friends, his answers are still largely "probably"s and "maybe"s. He "hadn't even considered" continuing to act as Phantom Thieves. But interestingly, there is one dialogue option that is stated with none of the usual hesitancy or vagueness - "I want to help people". <- It's the crux of his awakening. This is Joker's true conviction. And he's willing to do anything, be whoever he needs to be, to see this through. He wants to help. He can't bring himself to look away.

Asserting the Phantom Thieves' brand of justice is a conviction that arises later on through proof of the effectiveness of changing hearts, and as a natural extension of his growing familiarity and confidence in their methods. Joker nearly always needs a little push to get started, but once he gets going, he's kind of relentless. He doesn't seem to be truly all that angry with either Makoto or Akechi for their questioning of the thieves' justice (barring his initial reaction), but he does, again, get annoyed at the assumption that the thieves are somehow a threat to people who aren't inflicting harm onto others - Joker says the thieves only target "criminals", implying that even though others may see them as criminals themselves, Joker does not agree. And when Makoto winds up joining them, there appears to be no residual hard feelings from him - she's like them, and she's come around.

It's likely too soon for me to state with any certainty, but I do think that's what Joker is hoping for - that people will come around if he gives them undeniable proof that they help instead of harm. Every character has at least some "selfish" motive to being a Phantom Thief, in addition to the shared goal of providing courage for those left abandoned by society. Ryuji wants positive instead of negative attention for once, Morgana wants his memories, Ann wants to alleviate her feelings of guilt surrounding Shiho, Yusuke aims to understand the human heart, and Makoto wants to feel useful and needed. What about Joker?

He started off this story just trying to help. No one believed him. He was punished for "hurting" someone and there was nothing he could say or do that would convince anyone otherwise. It was his word against society's. And when the Phantom Thieves' motives are brought up, it's the same questions: aren't they going to hurt people? Aren't they dangerous and untrustworthy? And this frustrates Joker in a similar way to the rumours surrounding his own arrest, but now - now he has proof. Proof that they helped, proof that this works. It's undeniable, to him, that real good is coming of this. And so now he has a leg to stand on; he can actually argue his point by saying "the Phantom Thieves aren't like that; look at the people they're helping, and how the people who should've done something can't do half the good they do". It's no longer his word against the rest of the world. He's counting on people being unable to deny what they are forced to witness.

In a way, Joker now has grounds not just to plead the Phantom Thieves' justice... but also his own innocence and good intentions. His defense of their justice is also, I believe, a defense of his own ego, to an extent.

You Have Bad Luck (Team Free Will x Male Reader)

A/N: This idea entered my head and I wanted to get it out soon so hopefully this is close enough to the theme of Halloween lol. Enjoy!

DEAN

Dean is constantly bouncing between finding it funny and being worried about your well-being. Whenever you end up tripping or walking into a door he can't help but find it a little funny. However, if the fall looks particularly bad he will refrain from laughing at the moment and check up on you. Dean has basically forbidden you from going on hunts with them since he is not willing to risk your bad luck affecting you at the wrong time. If you do want to help them out Dean will let you do some research for them but that is about as far as he will go.

SAM

Sam tends to have more worry when it comes to you and your bad luck. He will tend to pay more attention to you when you are around him to make sure you don't get too hurt. Sam will also keep you away from being on the front lines of a hunt but is more willing to let you help with the research. He also finds your bad luck kind of interesting and will usually give you good luck charms that he finds to see how they affect your natural bad luck. Sam does his best to counteract your bad luck by catching you before you fall or giving you a sturdy phone case to prevent your phone from cracking.

CASTIEL

Cas is very confused by the bad luck that follows you around. At first, Cas wouldn't exactly know how often it affects you but as time goes on he would start to get a feeling for how it operates and would act accordingly. Whenever you end up injured he will heal you with his grace and make sure that you are okay. Cas is more willing to take you along with him on hunts since he knows he can heal you if you end up injured. However, there will still be times when Cas thinks it would be best for you to hang back and help with the research.

CROWLEY

Crowley found your bad luck to be very interesting. When he first learned about it he joked about your ancestor pissing a witch off as a reason for it. Crowley has no qualms about making a quip or two whenever you trip on a rock or when you forget your wallet at home. He will make sure that you are not too hurt though he will never do so in an obvious way. Crowley tends to no bring you with him to meetings and stuff with one of the reasons being that your bad luck could cause unnecessary distractions to him and his work. His favorite nickname for you is "Black Cat" for obvious reasons.

I'm gonna talk about some different scenarios that I feel like would happen between the two of them and idk if I can say some are chill but for them?? yeah it's chill LMAO... tw for domestic violence btw bc they can't have chill without a little violence

I think that they are definitely willing to share a bed, I mean especially after the apartment and everything, Vinnie would be ALOT more clingy without even thinking he is. He probably finds himself sleeping in habit's bed while Habit is gone, desperate for any kind of attention and when he opens his eyes, the fan is on, and he feels a warmth next to him and he looks over and there's habit. He's not looking at Vinnie or anything, he's too engrossed in the video game he's playing on the TV across from the bed. He's got the volume down just so he doesn't wake Vinnie. although habit would just say he didn't feel like turning up the volume because he refuses to admit he does anything for Vinnie.

Vinnie would definitely get embarrassed that habit is just there but Habit would honestly be thrilled over it. It just shows that his plan of getting Vinnie to rely on him is working. He'd even offer another controller to Vinnie if he wants to play and Vinnie would say no and he'd just lay there in silence watching habit's face as plays the game (most likely BioShock I feel), and they're cats are asleep at the end of the bed and Vinnie can't believe that he's actually found somewhere that he can exist without having to worry that he's gonna cause someone's death.

they both like their silence but they both hate feeling alone so I think them sharing a space with each other makes a lot of sense. They can't stand being out of each other's sight.

And I don't think that Vinnie would think of Evan either, sometimes he likes habit more than he's ever liked Evan and he hates to admit that to himself.

Vinnie definitely finds himself daydreaming about what him and habit are gonna do. He's so left out of Habit's plans he's probably making up the craziest scenarios and he'll even talk about them with habit and he'll just talk about how excited he is to one day do something super important with habit. He'll convince himself that Habit has only the best planned for him and that Habit cares for him so deeply that he gets physically violent because of all the love he has for him. it's twisted but so is Vinnie. He doesn't want normal, I mean he does, but not when he could be with someone as powerful as habit. And you just KNOW Vinnie is praising habit often when he's not being a smartass.

Say that just got done being in a massive fight. And by massive I definitely mean physical. Vinnie most likely brought up something about leaving habit or asked to go outside which pissed Habit off to the point of getting violent. Habit doesn't want Vinnie to even THINK about leaving him. he doesn't want Vinnie to believe that's an option, he wants Vinnie to stay with him no matter what, he can't risk losing him to anything or anyone, even himself sometimes, which is probably why he leaves the house often.

Habit wouldn't just slap Vinnie or anything he would grab him by the hair and drag him down the stairs while telling him all the awful things that would happen to him if he left the apartment, and Vinnie's kicking his feet and trying to fight back but he can't even bring himself to hurt habit in anyway so all he can do is try to pull away. Habit would tell him that slenderman would be there in an instant to rip him apart and ruin his life yet again if he stepped out those doors. or worse there would be monsters he's never even heard of before. Habit would tell him if he leaves Vinnie is just gonna kill more innocent people indirectly while tossing him against the door and telling him to just leave them if he's so sure he wants to leave so bad. Habit would be walking back up the stairs leaving Vinnie there, most likely with a black eye and bloody nose, he wouldn't look back because he knows he doesn't have to. Because Vinnie is already crawling back up the stairs saying he's so sorry, he's telling Habit that he never should've thought like that, he should've never brought it up to habit. He should've kept his mouth shut, can habit please forgive him? can he let him stay?

And of course he can stay. That's when habit changes, not really though. Habit would help Vinnie to his feet and he'd be shushing him telling him that he forgives Vinnie for his behavior. He would get all, "You know I'd never do this if you didn't deserve it." and "I'm only doing this to protect you, you wouldn't be able to survive out there alone. It's not safe for you." and he'd be so pleased about the fact Vinnie is just nodding along and even saying thank you. Habit would take him to the bathroom and he would go out of his way to be overly affectionate and caring with Vinnie now which obviously send Vinnies mind in circles. Vinnie just got done being dragged the stairs and now habit is cleaning his face, honestly he'd even wash Vinnie's hair if it would get him to rely on him more.

After Habit would make Vinnie dinner and they'd sit on the couch instead of at the dinner table and Habit would throw his arm around Vinnie and pass him the remote and tell him to pick whatever he wants and Vinnie would lean into it. Why wouldn't he? he's so desperate for affection, for any attention and there Habit is, giving it to him. He'd say he's sorry for earlier again, since Vinnie feels guilty for upsetting Habit and Habit would put his hand on Vinnie's face pushing his thumb against the bruise on vinnie's face a little and then moving his hand to vinnie's hair messing with it, all while saying, "It's okay, champ! we all make mistakes!" while just hours before this, habit had his hand in Vinnie's hair dragging him down the stairs. It wouldn't make Vinnie panic, infact it'd probably make him push aside everything that has happened and he'd be so grateful that habit is letting him stay.

They're definitely just all around way more affectionate with each other than they are violent. Habit would kiss (like those over dramatic sloppy ones that are disgusting. like you just hate it HELP. does this make sense. it's not even that romantic or anything habit just doesbit to be funny) all over vinnie's face just to see Vinnie get all flustered and wipe his face off because he thinks it's adorable. Habit can't be human, but he found someone who actually makes him feel like he is. Vinnie doesn't treat Habit like he's something he should fear, Vinnie truly sees habit as a partner and not a just a pawn to his next step and all habit has ever truly wanted is to be wanted. To not be alone. He wants company with him as he commits chaos.

Habit could come home after a rough week of annoying victims that barely satisfied him and he'll throw himself onto the couch into vinnie's waiting arms to complain about everything and anything and Vinnie would sit there and be on his side (with some light teasing), and habit just can't believe it. He's got something of his own for once. Vinnie chose HIM. Habit doesn't know how to be normal and he could never be normal and he would never be able to have a healthy relationship but I'd say his relationship with Vinnie is most likely the healthiest one he's EVER had. I mean canonically habit has never even broken any of Vinnie's bones.

He probably tells Vinnie that this is his favorite iteration of Vinnie too. He'd say shit like, "Y'know the old you's probably would've never let me get this close." and Vinnie would feel,,, almost special?? he would say shit like "Well it's a good thing I'm not them anymore, right? I like what we got going on." and habit would think about it for days.

I'd say that they've definitely just found some sort of peace and comfort with each other. Even though they have screaming matches and habit will get physical and even sometimes Vinnie will get physical back, (he is literally the definition of reactive abuse) and after they'll just sit on the couch together while habit holds a bag of peas against vinnie's fresh black eye and Vinnie would say he doesn't need to be babied and habit would tell him to stop being a baby then. they definitely watch a ton of movies and shows and Vinnie has to BEG for habit to let him watch what he wants to watch. habit will always say Vinnie picks the worst shit but every single time Vinnie turns something on habit is engrossed and obsessed with it. He'll even stand in front of the TV with his hands on his hips like a dad would and he'd ask questions 24/7 which Vinnie wouldn't mind answering because he loves to yap.

they both talk SO much they won't be able to shut up and they genuinely do get along on ALOT of stuff. Habit literally picked Vinnie because he has a good sense of humor. So you KNOW they're laughing over the worst shit known to man. Especially later on in the series where Vinnies been deeply effected by habit. I'm always so obsessed w how you can see habit's influence on Vinnie when he kills Evan. Like that's habits hard work paying off guys. he'd be so fucking proud.

The Cat King is a very interesting character. Really, I like him and I find him consistent in his actions. That is precisely why I don't see what he feels for Edwin as anything close to being in love, and I don't think he even means to be.

He cares, sure, and he's kinda obsessed with getting his prey (affectionately), but that's it. He wouldn't go too far for Edwin and he doesn't. "I'll be waiting for him when he gets out of hell" while someone else is getting him out of hell. Also, knowing that Esther is going to literally torture Edwin forever and not risking his lives to give a warning — which of course, why would he? He just got killed for trying to help, he's not about to do it again. And I don't think it's wrong of him! Because you don't risk your life for a crush!!

(well, except if you're Monty. He actually was about to risk his life for Edwin, trying to get him out of the forest. Just putting this out there)

So I mean, I get the appeal. The sexual tension, the power balance. Man, I actually love how that changes during the season and how Edwin has the upper hand in the end and knows it. It's a very nice dynamic that they have and I get having fun exploring it.

But I was flabbergasted to see people wishing it was endgame, wow. Not trying to be shady, I genuinely did not EXPECT THAT from so many people.

And I wasn't even going to talk about the problematic parts of their relationship (the coersion, the mind tricks, etc), because I've had my share of problematic ships, this is pretty tamed in comparison, lol. But I think it's important that people understand that it's problematic, and then if they decide to keep shipping it anyway, that's cool.

There's a final major point, which everyone already knows, but I'm gonna say it: you can't fall in love with someone like Charles and expect anyone else to beat that. No one will.

If you haven’t already answered this yet, can I ask why MicaClan chose the territory they currently live in? It seems like an interesting decision to choose such a different area to try to survive in. Although the more lush area probably means less droughts and higher elevation could possibly mean less flood risks, avoiding the two major issues that caused them to move in the first place. They still have to relearn everything though in such a different area. Or was there less thought behind it and it was more just get to higher ground to avoid the water and then they got tired of traveling and decided to stop once they were sufficiently high up?

Also can I ask what kind of border threats they faced when establishing their new territory? Were there other groups of cats? Was it mostly predators and dangerous animals? Did dogs or twolegs pose a challenge to their borders?

You're right that there were material aspects as to why they chose to settle where they did; the mountain seemed like a good place to avoid any more catastrophic floods with the high elevation, the spring-fed stream that runs through the territory also seemed like a guarantee against any future droughts, and the area had plenty of prey to feed the clan. But the real deciding factor was the soil!

The idea was basically that they found a place where the very ground seemed to be blessed by Starclan. I've written about this on the blog before, but it was wayyy way back and I haven't mentioned it again since then HAHA, but I based Micaclan's territory on a place I used to hike every now and again. The area used to be the location of a mica mine, and the ground there still sparkles with all the tiny shards of minerals in the ground (which is actually why they're called Micaclan; I gave them the name before I'd fully decided on the clan not being from the area originally lol). So they basically were like "if this isn't a sign from Starclan then I don't know what is" and set up camp! It ended up being the right choice in the end, because they found the Moonmirror in the abandoned mine on their territory, which gave them much needed access to Starclan (even if they can't use it outside of emergencies).

For border threats, I imagine them dealing with all sorts of things, especially in the beginning when they were just establishing their borders. I think of micaclan's territory being far enough from human civilization that they don't have to worry about construction or cars or anything, but close enough that they have a human hiking trail acting as one of their borders, or at least having a hiking trail close enough that they have to deal with the occasional stray dog or human. In addition to this, predators like black bears or coyotes would make trouble for the clan, and maybe a mountain lion drifted through the territory at one point (which would have been a harrowing time indeed).

As for rogues or other groups of cats, I think they might've brought that trouble with them! It's hard to conceal a big group of cats traveling in search of a new territory, and I think they drew some unwanted attention on their way up to the mountain. Maybe other groups noted them, and decided to let the strangers do the hard work of staking out a good territory before swooping in to take their place? I don't think there were any other cats living where Micaclan ends up, so they wouldn't be contesting land with any other resident cats. Those that threatened their new borders were usually looking to try to take their place. Basically they were like "so the weirdos you pegged as 'death within the month' 5 moons ago are actually now thriving and looking well-fed and healthy living on the mountain? I guess it can't be THAT dangerous, why don't we live up there instead? they can find somewhere else again, they're obviously good at finding nice territories."

the general gossip on micaclan as a group through the years basically goes like this: I heard there was a big group (a clan?) passing through looking to set up a new territory, hope they don't settle here -> apparently that big clan that passed through a few moons back is living further up the mountain? wonder how long it'll be before they're eaten by bears -> there's a big group of cats living further up the mountain, maybe the mountain makes for a good territory after all... -> there's a weird cat cult up the mountain and if you step on their turf they will Kick Your Ass

I was imagining some older kids too like 15-17 year olds who are a bit less impressionable that the little ones but they still absolutely love being with Bunny and Bucky.

I love the idea that any time they mention a special interest or hobby they find all the kit they need to pursue it in their room the next day.

I think the only real rule there is in the house is to look after each other. You and Bucky want to make your kids happy and keep them safe, anything else can be sorted out with cash (or secret violence lol).

I imagine the day starts with a good breakfast and a reminder of all the stuff that has to be done that day.

I feel Bucky sits reading a paper and sipping on a coffee, greeting his various kids, asking them about their homework, checking to make sure there aren't any issues. Baby bunny will often sit with him, sipping on a glass of water like it's vodka, reading the comic section that he put aside for her (screaming) as she tucks into her cereal.

Bunny is in full chaos mode, fussing over everyone, doing hair and making sure teeth are brushed. One of the teenage girls comes downstairs in an emotional panic because the boy she's seeing hasn't texted her all morning.

Both you and Bucky frown because boys but you also take her to one side and craft the perfect message and explain how to make him suffer all day for his foolishness.

Evenings are filled with nice little routines that are only visible if you really look for them. But for kids who need structure it means the world.

Dinner is eaten together. You try and cook in the early days and it's kind of a disaster so Bucky suggests you hire a cook who can cater for the needs of everyone without any fuss. It feels a little like failure but when Little Rabbit scoffs down a broccoli based dish without complaint, you decide it's a good idea.

Unless the kids have an after school club you will all cuddle up and watch TV or movies together. Because Thumper is a scaredy cat you end up watching a lot of competition shows because they are low risk and suitable for everyone.

The older kids might hang out in their room, but they kinda enjoy the chaos of sitting with you guys and the little ones watching crap on tv.

You get the update on the boy from school (he came crawling back immediately), Bucky discusses sports with the eldest and the little ones are discussing which Disney princess would be the best at beating up Superman.

You feel very happy in these moments

Little Rabbit insists on two bedtime stories, one from each of you. Thumper needs you to tell him happy things before bed, with 10 kisses and Bucky tells him that no one will ever get to him because he's the toughest guy on the planet. He also plugs in a night light so he doesn't get scared.

You give Baby Bunny a kiss and a cuddle goodnight and wait by the door as she and Bucky discuss her plans for world domination until she falls asleep mid-sentence.

The teenagers insist they don't need to be tucked in, but they pretend that they are accepting kisses and cuddles from you for your benefit. You don't care, as long as they go to bed knowing they are loved.

Vox is nothing if not adaptable. He takes a while to properly bounce back - honestly anyone would, but he's not one to let it show.

From the perspective of Hell at large, Vox simply got tired of his recent business venture and is back to running things as smoothly as he always has.

To Alastor, Vox is an incredible nuisance now that he's 'back to normal', the soul contracts are too valuable to cast away, but being pledged to protect an enemy - even with a contract that denotes that enemy's status as nothing more than a common domestic animal - is a risky matter.

To the Vees, Vox has forgiven and forgotten. He claims he would have done the same if one of them was in his situation. There would have been no reason to keep such a hindrance as an out of control cat in the tower. Valentino in particular is a big fan of a few of the remnants of cathood that remained stuck on after Vox's return to his original form (being a critter for so long, and being so close to fading completely caused some physical aspects of the cursed form to remain 'stuck' after the reversion process). Vox purrs now, and that's absolutely delightful.

Vox, at his core, isn't quite night and day from his various carefully arranged fronts. But it's certainly day and dusk. There's something horrifically existential about what he went through. Such things are a risk of his status, but being aware of the risk does not make him immune to the consequences. The mental scars suck. The physical reminders of his mistake are even worse. To Vox, though, nothing hits him quite as hard as the needling awareness that he kind of misses the simple, lazy life he experienced for that fleeting period of full cathood. It was a little cathartic (if a little boring) knowing that he wouldn't need to worry about anything beyond whether Alastor was going to offer treats or not.

I feel like with the recent fics, it shows that y/n chooses to breakup with Rafe because SHE HAS TO. Ward cutting off Rafe through financial support. I wouldn't even be shock if he would completely cut Rafe off's in his life just to see how long will Rafe crawl back to him and tell him "I'm sorry, dad. You're right, I shouldn't have choose her." type of apology because he is petty af, and wants to prove something.

Y/n must've breakup with Rafe to save him from his falling relationship with his father, she was being realistic, Rafe and her couldn't support each other financially without Rafe sacrificing his athletic career and she couldn't live with that kind of idea. Her not only unintentionally ruining Rafe and Ward's relationship she is on the verge of ruining his academic and athletic career. So she had to choose, and she choose to save everyone. Even if it will cause pain to her and Rafe. She needs to be smart, because she know Rafe would choose her and would sacrifice everything he has just to make their situation work and she can't risked it.

I know for sure that she kept the baby and the babies name is starts with "E" because of her playlist "e's favourite" w/ a cat picture a sign thay this playlist contains songs that is appropriate for babies or toddler. She is selfless, explaining why she choose not to talk bad or avoid talking about her past relationship with Rafe, to avoid unintentional drama and misunderstanding that could lead to her and Rafe's image in their uni.

I got into Chainsaw Man during the time this blog was in a coma! if that wasn't obvious already ^-^

Fellow and Guidel growing up in poverty reminded me a lot of Denji and Pochita, and I listen to CSM ost often these days I'm only drawing Fellow as Makima for funnies because they both manipulate others without them knowing, and absolutely nothing else. he's too boyfailure for that.

"The country mouse gets to to live in safety, but doesn't get to eat delicious food like they have in the city. The Town mouse gets to eat delicious food, but runs a higher risk of being killed by humans or cats."

I've also been thinking of this line with them lately, either they live honestly and barely make anything when society rejects them as it is, or work at Playful Land despite its horrid conditions if it means their survival

in which I also headcanon that Fellow's drive in doing this in the first place is his envy, and to fulfill a sense of revenge towards people who get to live normal lives but fell for a "free ticket" the same way Pleasure Island also existed as a metaphor to punish people for giving in to hedonistic desires. So that's why he put up with it for so long especially under his greedy bosses

Not a lot of people talk about how as much as Fellow cares about Guidel, he still roped in a child into this job alongside him and exposing him to this sort of stuff, so I was hoping it'd be discussed more when analyzing their bond together and not just fellow's backstory (or whatever crumbs canon gave us), and that's what I had in mind when writing this

theres nothing wrong with finding guidel cute and silly! hes a cute little guy who is very much loved by his older brother, his... very irresponsible brother. but I think that's why I can still come to love Fellow and how raising and protecting Guidel could've played a bigger part in his change at the ending when he stops everything to start a school instead

I was really hoping that Stage in Playful Land would also give us Ortho-Guidel parallels the same way with Idia-Rollo and how they dealt with their grief in Glorious Masquerade, but this time with "little brothers" and their attachment to their "older brothers" but their autonomy outside of them being brought into question

Anyway, I was wondering how the Playful Land operations would impact Guidel, so I was thinking Fellow probably bullshitted some reasons so it isn't merely just guidel following his brother but also being in on it (that, and middle schoolers are built different.)

This worked until the NRC students brought up something sensitive to them, which was school, and it takes the veil off Guidel's eyes and ears for a second about what they're doing and what sort of lives he and fellow could've had seeing the nrc students have so much fun

Silly bird man who makes soup and studies ancient ruins of long lost civilisations in the desert! He doesn't have a quarrel with anyone and nobody has a quarrel with him. Really fucked up little guy. Kinda more fucked up than Maggie if I'm being honest. A real piece of work, it created a nightmarish hell-dimension called Wiz-Mart for fun and watched people actually try to utilize it as a proper grocery store. They find it HIGHLY entertaining to watch

The Glazastov Family

I'd make individual blurbs for this family but none of them are that important aside from Vitaly, but he's also a very minor character in this (I still love him a lot though). The Glazastov Family is a (you guessed it) family of morticians and funeral directors. They are a family of five, consisting of the parents (Konstantin and Olga) and their three children (Vitaly, Sasha, and Polina). Konstantin (he/him) and Olga (she/her) are happily married and getting up there in years, but they tend not to go out much. Not very social at all. Vitaly (he/him) is the most social out of all of them and that's saying a lot. He's not very keen on speaking to others outside of work, but he has a soft spot for kids and does a lot of the talking for his family. Sasha (he/him) is an asshole. He was quickly driven out of the family home for trying to kill his brother. Polina (she/her), or Polly for short, is the youngest and very very sweet. She often plays with the children outside the morgue, and her responsibilities in the family have yet to be passed down, since she's quite young still.

Alright, rewatching episode 05×02 of stranger things, let's go!

I'm going to write what I thought/saw in each scenes, so it's probably going to be long.

1) Joyce

Wow, that house is really looking ominous as hell.

2) Will and Mike

Anyway, I really like that Mike is trying to help Will by giving him some sort of reason as to why all this is happening.

This underground place is so full of toxic spores, I'm surprised he even walked this far!

Also, he was kinda dumb about it. I mean, these spores are pretty huge, I wouldn't go in there without covering my mouth and nose honestly.

Rip Hopper, I know you'll survive that but I feel for you man 🫡

4) Nancy and Jonathan

They're my favorite adult couple if I'm being honest.

I love how Lucas asked his dad what he does when his mom's angry, it really shows that he has a big crush on Max. And it's pretty cute too! :3

(The Sinclair mens really are a perfect example of "my girl is mad at me I hope I die" lol)

Alright, I really love lumax, and I know that it wouldn't have happened if this scene didn't, but I still think it was a bad decision to tell Max what happened.

I know she "accepted the risk", but she wasn't taking it seriously and that was pretty dumb (but completely understandable) of her.

Now, let's go Lucas. Put your future girlfriend in the secret!

12) Will, Mike, Joyce, and Bob

Wow, Bob is actually really, really smart. I forgot about that too.

(Also, I really love how Mike and Will are always next to each other. That's cute. ^^)

I mean, at least the cat got a proper grave.

I really love how understanding Becky is there. She's trying to stay calm and find aweser, without pushing El to get them. It's nice.

And I forgot that her mom also had some kind of powers, that's pretty cool!

Ted is pretty fucking useless, you're right Dustin. I like how it's really clear that Dustin has no respect at all for Ted, I mean he's swearing without even thinking twice about it! Really shows how passive Ted is in everyone's lives.

Steve coming to give Nancy flowers and "apologize"... My boy stop lying to yourself, you know this relationship is already fucked.

Anyway.

It's funny how Dustin orders him around and he doesn't even blinks lol

Yep, the spores are getting to him again.

Poor Bob is confused as hell.

The way Joyce is immediately clinging to Hopper to make sure he's okay makes me kinda sad for Bob, but I guess we know why.

(Also, Jim almost forgetting his hat and going back to take it was so funny to me lol)

Day 16 - Natsume Asahina - Brothers Conflict

This man isn't per say my favorite character in Brothers Conflict but I do feel like he has the most to offer and the most sincere loving man who could even be a good husbando and father. These are my reasons why.
