When I first read Eagle of Alamut, and saw that Altair hadn't shown up, yet, I was like, no way am I reading this super slow-burn. But then I ended up enjoying all of your other writings and so I gave it a shot, and I am OBSESSED?! The friendship, the humor--THE FOUND FAMILY?! Oh yes. OH YES. This is the fic for me. I don't even care if Altair shows up anymore!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I would like to defend myself that I do not count it as a slow-burn UNTIL Altaïr has physically appeared in the fic. But yeaaaahhh, I understand why readers would call this slow burn.

... Unless you want to see Desmond's random thoughts of how Altaïr is doing or what this would mean for Altaïr as Desmond not realizing he's pining for Altaïr. That would actually be valid and may or may not be a hint on my part that Desmond has feelings for Altaïr even before he got kicked into the past XD

I'm glad that you enjoyed my fics and still gave Eagle of Alamut a shot. I'm honestly so happy you guys are enjoying that fic even though it's filled with so many OCs at the moment to flesh out Alamut. Dragon Ball Daima 01x12 - True Strength

Here we go. Presumably this will be Vegeta vs. Tamagami, Round 2. Good luck, Geets! You got this!

(I am going to laugh so hard if Goku has to fight the Tamagami for him.)

Alright, so how do they resolve Vegeta being eaten by the hydra?

Huh. "It was a fakeout; He never got eaten" wasn't my first guess. I had my money on either "Vegeta goes Super Saiyan and breaks free" or "Goku has to fight the hydra".

But this is what I was talking about.

Now that we don't need to manufacture the illusion of a desperate cliffhanger, Vegeta turns Super Saiyan right away and the hydra is no longer an issue. He was only letting himself get punched around for the sake of fabricating dramatic tension last episode.

The episode still tries to play it as an arena hazard for a bit. But even then....

Vegeta just hits the hydra really hard one time and it immediately fucks off. It was never, ever really a threat to him or Goku despite all the screentime spent pretending that it was.

So, that was lame. But now that Vegeta's stopped letting himself get beat up for funsies, the real Vegeta vs. Tamagami fight can begin in earnest.

I love how much more blunt and direct Vegeta's fight with his Tamagami is, as opposed to Goku's. Vegeta's always been more of a warhammer to Goku's scalpel, and you can feel it in their fights.

Goku spent his battle leading the Tamagami around in circles and capitalizing on openings in their guard, while Vegeta just powers in there and tries to break through.

Meanwhile, Duu.

Despite his dull personality, Duu is kind of perfect as a Buu-like fighter.

At this point, I think the narrative function of the three Tamagamis has been made clear. Both why these boss fights exist and why there's three of them, specifically. With everything else in Makai being beneath Dabra/Cell in power, the Tamagamis act as yardsticks to showcase how Goku, Vegeta, and Duu relate to each other in ability.

These three entities alone are beyond Dabra/Cell. By conquering them, Goku, Vegeta, and Duu assert their place in the pecking order as entities beyond the beings that are Dabra/Cell but relatively close to one another.

...rude. This is Goku erasure. He's standing right there, guys.

Neva being able to make them go Super Tamagami is a twist I did not see coming. But one that makes perfect sense, and I love it.

Out-of-nowhere Kuu showing up with the chocolate bars to rejuvenate Duu's motivation is such an old-school Dragon Ball moment. XD I love that this is the finisher that brings Duu vs. Tamagami One into its endgame.

This is the best headbutt that anyone has ever delivered in cinematic history.

I was skeptical about Duu's ability to potentially carry a final boss fight and I recant everything. Duu's such a fun fighter, I love it.

Though I still think Duu and Kuu are going to fuse. Goku and Vegeta vs. Duu and Kuu seems inevitable. I also half-expect these two lunkheads to end up ruling Daimakai or something.

Even if they are the Final Boss, there's no way the show kills them off. They're too innocent and joyful.

It's a good thing Goku didn't get this Tamagami because he'd be screwed.

BUT FORTUNATELY KUU IS A SUPER-GENIUS ARE YOU KIDDING ME

This definitely should have had some sort of "Vegeta discovering the true meaning of strength at the bottom of the ocean" mind journey or something to lead into it. This was achieved way too easily.

He cracked Super Saiyan 3 halfway through doing the ad read for NordVPN.

"Are you worried about your wife's corporate surveillance network reporting back on the websites you visit? Well, if you're like me, you want a good-- huh. ...yeah, that would work. Anyways, you'll want to protect your privacy online...."

But then. It is Vegeta. This is how he operates. He gets free skill points whenever Goku levels up; They're just set on a time delay.

In seriousness, Bulma at least offers some explanation. Like most of Vegeta's power-ups, he unceremoniously bridged that gap offscreen. He's been sitting on it and waiting for a good time to show it off.

Vegeta likes to go away for a while and then come back with new abilities that Goku already achieved, but he often at least gets to reveal them in big exciting moments. His key strength is his ability to consistently follow in Goku's footsteps where all others eventually fade into obscurity.

Playin' the Hits

There's something sincerely funny about Vegeta trying to demonstrate how cool he's become but the best he can come up with is to plagiarize something Goku did that one time.

Oh, and also a little bit of Frieza plagiarism. Keeping his arms folded across his chest while fighting exclusively his legs is something he stole from Frieza. Though he was dead at the time that happened, so this might just be a little bit of Frieza's influence on his early development showing through.

Playin' the Hits #3, at least, is a Vegeta original.

It's always been kinda funny to me the way subsequent Dragon Ball materials make the Galick Gun out to be, like, Vegeta's Kamehameha. His signature beam attack that he whips out when he needs to smash someone with overwhelming force.

He only actually did this once in the series. Unlike Goku, Vegeta generally doesn't stick to a single technique as his go-to signature move. He doesn't have a Standard Arsenal of attacks. He's like Piccolo; Constantly trading up and leaving old moves in his dust.

And then closing on copy/pasting Goku's final exchange with the Tamagami from four episodes ago in this very series.

Possibly one more for the road? I am like 70% certain this is from the anime version of Super Vegeta vs. Semi-Perfect Cell? It definitely looks familiar.

Daima was the last series that Akira Toriyama worked on before his passing, but to my knowledge, we don't know where the series was in its development when he passed on.

But I can say that, in my opinion, a lot of Vegeta vs. Tamagami Two feels like a Toei fight, not a Toriyama fight. Especially its incredibly derivative conclusion.

Hi Amethyst! It's been a hot minute since I sent an ask in, but I have been reading both fics every day (still obsessed lmao) (also I name changed btw, used to be ElenaLoo)

The REAL thing I wanted to talk about was Traveling thieves (which is by far my favorite fanfic of ALL TIME), and all the amazingness in ttsbc made me forget it even existed for the past few weeks. But the other day I was just like "oh yeah. Traveling thieves." and then i reread the whole thing. whoopsies.

Ummm anywyas there's so many thoughts in my head about all the little guys, but recently I've been on an Imp and Skizz obsession (just scroll on my page for .2 seconds and you'll see) and YOU. You left them on a CLIFFHANGER. >:((( (not actually mad btw). I just. so excited for them. They're out alone in the woods right now and Skizz is going to have the perfect opportunity to kill Impulse and get away and I just am falling apart thinking about them. (I drew them to cope lol, posted on my blog but also later here so that I can talk about it more). I can see this playing out a few ways. Obviously Skizz isn't actually going to kill Impulse, so he's either going to 1) make up some excuse as to why he can't do it right then, but still plans to do it eventually, or 2) he does it. but he doesn't. Skizz attacks Impulse when he's not expecting it, there's a scuffle, and Skizz comes out on top---BUT THEN HE CAN"T FINISH IT!!! and it's a whole thing where even tho skizz tried to kill him, imp is still so understanding and skizz cries and impulse just freaking gives him a hug and

Mostly I'm just very proud of their expressions, with Impulse being all concerned glancing over at Skizz, meanwhile Skizz is completely deadpan staring forwards, also looking very tired bc he needs a break from this universe. Also I switched up my Impulse design a lil bit from last time (if u even remember that lol it was months ago now). you would think, just looking at them, that Impulse took way longer to design, but nope, I was messing around with Skizz for at least double the time, trying to figure out how to have him facing forward whilst still showing some of the scars on his back. I gave up eventually xD (all that means is that im gonna have to draw him again later, from different angles)

actually that made me remember a question I had: are you planning to ship Imp and Skizz? Ik you said Zed and Tango are going to be a thing far in the future, but... skizzpulse? plzzzz plz pretty please haha im not obsessed

🍀Cliffhanger🍀 - Total Drama Viewer Reacts to Disventure Camp Season 2 Episode 12 “Money, Fame, And Shame Part 1”

So uh... I was gonna introduce this normally. Basically, explain why it's been a bit, mostly cause there was a new Digital Circus episode out and I was on the hype train for that.

BUT now I'm kinda concerned.

For those who don't know, recently, OddNations have been hit with strikes on their channel over an impersonation situation.

As a result, half of the show was deleted.

HOWEVER, they seem to be getting people on board to help them now, and the finale is back now.

So, you guys get a treat.

Because I'm going on vacation tomorrow, we're doing both episodes in one day.

And also because I'm worried the channel could get deleted, so I want to at least get this season done.

We'll see what happens in the future. Somehow someway I'll react to Season 3.

I don't think some people understand how DIFFICULT it is to get an indie animated show out there. Sure you have your occasional popular thing like Hazbin and Digital Circus. But there's also, like, SO MANY other indie shows out there that go completely unnoticed.

They're very expensive. They take a long time to make. It's a torture process.

So regardless on how I, or anyone else, feel about the show, it is so impressive to me that there are these passionate people putting their heart and soul into this. And I respect that more than anything.

Even if I loathed this show (which I obviously don't), I would never wish for this to be shut down. Especially so unfairly.

So, support OddNations. Help them through these hard times. Show you care about them and what they do.

We'll see if OddNation survives. If this is the end of my reactions or not. If they survive, cool, I can continue with this show and make reaction posts of Season 3.

(I actually really want to react to Season 3 if you guys want that too.)

If they do not, and I lose access to the show entirely... well shit.

-OK, fandom, you got me. You called it. Vaggie was an angel. Wasn't exactly the most surprising twist imaginable when everyone and their mother called it, but it was cool to actually see it. Th-the fact that she got her name because a misogynist named her was probably the biggest twist for me here, cuz HOLY CRAP, it makes so much sense. XD I remember when people used to haaaaaate Vaggie's name.....I-I honestly used to raise my eyebrows at it before I got used to it. That's neat.....

....But if there was one thing I DIDN'T call, it's Charlie not knowing. I legit thought she already knew. They were so close, and they've been a couple for years before the show, so I thought that already happened. B-but I....I LIKE this direction? I-I love Chaggie already, don't get me wrong, they're like the M&M of this show for me.....b-but their relationship has always kinda been....swallowed by the....EVERYTHING ELSE in the show around them. I-I'd love to see them get center stage! Will that happen, or will it just get brushed over? Dunno....but....either way, this cliffhanger KILLS ME just cuz I wanna know what happens next for them!

-NO ONE IN HEAVEN BUT SERA AND THE EXORCISTS KNOW ABOUT THE EXTERMINATIONS. PLEASE leave all your "Heaven is evil, what's the point of the hotel" complaints at the FLIPPING DOOR! We got a breakthrough! Yup, I never bought it for a second. The Exorcists are only ONE type of angel! There was no way they represented ALL of Heaven! The whole point of the story was that it's not a black-and-white conflict! If the whole story was just "Hell good, Heaven evil", what would be the point of that? You think the writers are THAT dumb?

Sera....seems to be the one in charge of making the decisions, but she's not evil, she's just doing what she thinks is right for Heaven. I'm pretty sure her mind can be changed. And Emily is so so so much like Charlie that them singing together was satisfying as heck! Adam and Lute are the clear bad guys here....

I love the confusion of "How isn't Angel rising to Heaven?" and how it kinda parallels to how Adam, who was once human, is still IN Heaven. Just cuz they're dead, doesn't mean they can't change. Vaggie had her wings torn off and fell. That could be Adam by the end of the show. But, what about someone in Hell rising to Heaven? Not even the angels have the answer. Because they're not evil. I LOVE that.

-Speaking of Emily and Charlie being alike, yeah, that second song was INCREDIBLE! Do I like it more than "Hell Is Forever" (which I've been listening too soooooo much over the week)? That's a high bar, so I dunno....but I love how this song is a follow-up to it, and it's very climactic.

-AUSTRALIAN CHERRI HECK YEEEEEAAAAA!!! Angel standing up to Val in....in only their....second episode together? Uhhhhh, aren't we moving too fast- I mean HECK YEEEEAAAA!! Drunk Niffty HECK YEEEAAAAA!!! More Huskerdust on the side HECK YEEEEAAA!!!

Okay, work stuff done! (I'll be honest with you, though. I was distracted the whole time) I needed this for my sanity, and I was not disappointed 😌 I've got to hand it to you 11.7k words in insane! There's so many parts of it I loved but I'll try to keep it short. The real MVP of this chapter is the Amplexus plant(did I get that right?). There's nothing like a good ole sentient hentai plant to boost the porn logic, no?😂 It was so much fun reading that.

Honorable mention to the old folks at the market for their solid advice. They were insane in their youth, I bet. Also BEYONCÉ? I had to pause at that. There's a GIF of a woman who screams Beyoncé?! Wide-eyed and everything, and that was me for a second 😂

Finished listening to the New Midnight Burger episode, though I’ll admit, I'm gonna miss the last logo, the new logo is great! 

I loved the new episode, and It's an early Mother’s Day episode! And learn something new about Caspar and Ava. Ava's mother confessed she’s pregnant when Caspar's mothers entered the Diner/club when Caspar was only a 2-year-old toddler, and i can assume that he's 2-3 years older than Ava; If Caspar’s is correct when he subtracted his years he spent on earth compare to his actual age in space in the diner then I assume he’s about 43-44 human years old(?). (I need to relisten to that again) In mannerisms and speech, Ava resembles her mom, the only difference being their ambitions. Playing piano isn’t bad, if anything, it may have helped her have better than most working memory.  I feel for Gloria. I haven’t yet experienced a loss that feels like a part of your soul was ripped away but I can imagine seeing them brought back through malicious intent, is heartbreakingly cruel.  Ava’s favorite song is hilarious! I had to look us the song, Somehow that kind of song reminds me of another song because it just matches another equally hilarious absurd song I loved and looked it up. I thought I’ve heard of the guy’s name before! I like his song, The Masochism Tango. She (and her VA) sings beautifully. Good for Ava though, Bit by bit she’s learning to be empathetic. Comforting two people about their communication skills as these married couple, who living in a different universes where one is about to be destroyed and now, a new mom on being a bad mom. Also, It feels a bit comforting to me because of the doubts I’ve been feeling on that particular subject. Oh Clementine's even reality bending powers can’t stop all suffering in the universe, you can show compassion for it to pass forward to other people that the diner can’t visit for, heaven knows that there’s a lot of depressed people suffering. Kinda like in Inside out when Joy realize that when a person suffers, there people who’ll come to aid and show compassion. Her offers are really tempting, offering the chance to rectify past mistakes, reunite with lost loved ones, and get back long-held dreams, finally putting an end to one's suffering. While Zebulon and Effie may view the offers as a potential deal with the devil, given Clementine's reality-bending powers and the incredible nature of her offer, ((I am certain that she will require something in return - even if she is unaware of it herself, believing her intentions to be pure.)) Despite the temptation, I doubt that Leif and Ava will accept the offer. especially Ava. Ava is more concerned with the truth than being believed by others. I mean, would she really resist the opportunity to travel through time and dimensions to test her theories or stay on earth and have her theories just be numbers on a chalkboard without proof?  Thinking to myself The Mucklewains, though they may not be the same people as the once lived in the 1920s, they are still real people that we love and respect. Physical bodies or not. Oh man, That cliffhanger. I like that Caspar is like growing as a person. He was a really grumpy guy when you first met him, like you could imagine this dude already growing white hair but he’s really grow to be more open and jokes around with others. Looking at him, 173 years old young and joking about it.  I know there’s more that I’m missing but I've those are the main plot points that happened in the episode that I can remember. I’ve heard it once, I will listen to it again later.  I also loved the bloopers they added at the end of the podcast. XD.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | in which Scaramouche reveals you the reason why he hates you so much. But in the silence that comes after his hatred is revealed, and from the unspoken words that never leave his lips, would it be too selfish to ask for something more than this?

𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | Uhhh look, I have no idea if Scara could go out of his robot without breaking those stuff in his back? But let's pretend that he could for the sake of the plot xD also, tell me if you want a part 2 cause this one felt kind of a cliffhanger to me hahaha. 

The first time that the game revealed his true colours, you knew that Scaramouche was not one for pleasantries. Perhaps he would if the situation calls for it, or if it means getting his way into tricking his enemies into lowering their guards down before he swiftly strikes them down. But in terms of normal conversations, he was like a person who wouldn't hesitate to call you 'fucker' or something insultingly similar.

He canonically called us 'suckers'. You inwardly snickered at the memory when you first heard it. It was kind of surreal, you know. Back then, you were hoping and praying to Hoyoverse that Scaramouche would be playable and don't let him end up like Signora. And now, he was almost playable!!

Only if you yourself weren't isekicked in Genshin Impact in the first place…then you'll be rejoicing in getting this angry purple guy with mommy issues into your party. And if you weren't thrown in Teyvat, you wouldn't also ended up in this…peculiar position.

"You…" Scaramouche's thunderous voice echoed in the vast chamber, his magnificent robot hovering behind him in a threatening manner. The artificial light that casts over the massive room gives highlight to his ethereal features, giving you time to admire his otherworldly—albeit angry—beauty. It was as if he was planning to skewer you alive with his sharp gaze if you wouldn't give him your full attention. "...You aren't afraid of me at all…"

You couldn't help but to feel shock at his surprisingly accurate observation. While it was true that you were kidnapped by the Sages and their minions, you almost immediately relaxed the moment you heard Scaramouche was the one who ordered it. After all, you knew his lore in-game at the very least and what will happen in the Archon Quest so it wouldn't really matter if he kidnapped you or what.

The Traveller and Nahida will come and defeat the false god, restore the Dendro Archon's reputation and power, save the Irminsul, and the Traveller was once again being crowned as a hero of a nation. That was written in the 3.2 version of the game.

Scaramouche is written as a villain who was destined to be defeated. But in the end, even he would probably be redeemed and would inevitably befriend the Traveller since he will become a playable character.

"...Duh, what are you talking about? Can't you see I'm shaking?" You felt a cold sweat on your back as Scaramouche inched closer to you. Though he was on the smaller side of the male characters, his charisma and appeal isn't lost to you. Especially now that he was glaring at you as if he was ready to plunge you away like what he did to the Traveller in the fighting cutscene. 

"No, that's not it…" Scaramouche gritted his teeth, before he grabbed your collar and forcibly made you look straight into his burning eyes. "...that look in your eyes, that way you're looking at me right now…I despise it, I loathe it more than I despise the Traveller and everyone in this world!"

"Wha—?"

His hand on your collar tightens when you start to struggle under his hold. "Everything you told me, every expression you gave me…I remember it all. Everything was etched into my mind and I…I won't ever forgive you!"

“What in the name of the Archons are you talking about?” Even if there was a pit starting to form in your stomach, and even if he started to shake you out of sheer rage, you forced yourself to not waver under his maddening gaze. 

You have no idea why he hates you so much, nor the sins you seemed to unknowingly commit to him. You were not like the Traveller who could go head to head with him and actually defeat him. You were not like the gods that abandoned him, nor the Harbinger that used him. In fact, you are a nobody to him. Nothing but an addicted gamer of Genshin Impact that was isekai’d in Teyvat for some cruel, unknown reason.

So, why does he hate you so much to the point that he ordered you to be kidnapped just to spit in your face how much he despises you?

“—Back then, when I invaded your mind, you confidently told me that everything I did would be futile and pointless, so it's best if I gave up my plans to save myself of the pain," intense anger bled through his tone, the venom on his voice made you tremble inside.

You remember that. It was during the part where the Traveller touched Haypasia and Scaramouche connected into their mind. But to your surprise, you were also connected to him. Although everything played out just like what happened in the Archon Quest, you still tried your best to convince Scaramouche to stop whatever he was doing—just like the Traveller.

You said it out of pure concern for him. As much as you want everything to play out what it was meant to be, a small part of yourself didn't want to see him suffer with your own eyes when Nahida and Traveller defeat him and take the Gnosis that he treasures so much from him.

You don't want to see him so miserable and lifeless as if his very soul had been ripped apart from him. You especially don't want to see him plummet down from his 'godhood' with no one to catch him as he falls—just like a discarded puppet that he so believed he was.

Still, you don't understand his spiteful words towards you.

"—but now, I understand." There was a sudden calm in his voice that made you slightly nervous, like a brewing storm ready to swept you away. With a harsh tug of your collar, he leaned forward until his face was mere inches away from yours. You couls feel his ragged breathing, his gritted teeth, and his anger. "...you have no right to judge me, mortal. You have no goddamn right to judge people like that!"

You felt as if Scaramouche threw a bucket of cold water into you. 

"I…" Judge you? You wanted to say, but all you've managed was to look at him with wide, horrified eyes as realisation slowly dawns on you.

Genshin Impact is a video game with a strong plot and fictional story, played by millions of people across the world. Scaramouche is one of the villains, the antagonists, who has done nothing good to the main character. He was someone who was just a mere supporting character in order to make the plot interesting, someone who, just by existing, is a catalyst to the plot of Sumeru Archon Quest, who had a sad backstory in order to grab the heartstrings of the players. 

A cash grab for the simps, to cruelly put it.

Scaramouche could never win this battle because that was how this world was set. He could never have the Gnosis because he was written for something much different. 

No matter how hard he tries, no matter how much he struggles, he will only just be hurting himself because his actions are futile for the future had long since written.

The villain role that was given to him is fixed and cannot be changed.

"You were looking at me, thinking that my actions are useless, that I would never become a God, that I will become even less than what my creator thought of me when she abandoned me!" Scaramouche shouted at you and with so much vigour, he finally let go of our collar. Your knees gave out and you were left kneeling on the ground with a daze expression. "—when you were looking at me, gazing at me with those sympathetic eyes as if I'm someone who challenges the absolute impossible!"

No, its…its not like that. 

But you felt sympathetic and empathetic at Scaramouche because just like you, he had no chance of winning this battle. He was not the main character. He was a villain, a supporting role, like yourself. 

This is a world inside a sick game, where each playable character was moving and making choices based on what was programmed of them. They have no control of their choices because that's how the game's flow works.

But all this time, maybe unconsciously, you were seeing—judging—everyone you met here because you knew they were not real. They were programmed characters made to entertain the gamers. 

But Scaramouche…

The Balladeer was so different as he himself shattered your little world. His blazing purple eyes even bluer than what you expect. 

And he looked so real. So human-like and yet god-like at the same time. 

"—I will become a god," he said with finality, so sure of himself that you almost believe him. He turned his back on you and walked towards the giant robot hovering in the distance, the elegant flutter of his sleeves was so real. "—And I do not care if it will be useless. Because unlike you who easily give up, I make my own decisions and I will forge my own future the way I want it to."

As you listlessly watched the Traveller and Nahida slowly but surely defeat Scaramouche's god-like form, watching the familiar battle scene of the Shouki no Kami unfold before your eyes just like you see back in the screen of your device, for the first time since you arrived in Teyvat, you realised that perhaps, despite his artificial origins, Scaramouche was the most human of them all.

...One that you have no right to judge so rashly as he continued to struggle and fight under the harsh thumb of his cruel fate.

𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | I had this brainrot a lot because I know that a lot of us must've thought along the lines of 'i can't wait to beat up scara' or something along those lines lmao. Ik cause i'm the same LOL. But what if this behaviour had bleed into you when you were isekai'd? Like ofc they are all video game characters, they are programmed and coded to act like what the script told them to, but I felt like Scaramouche fit the trope that wouldn't just give up easily even if the 'ending was already decided' so that's why he hated the reader because he thought that they were judging his actions as useless and futile, even if the sentiment comes from good conscience in our part! I just hope I manage to deliver the feelings well because im not really good at describing stuff 🤡🤡💀

Worst cases of cartoons being screwed over

Cartoons are amazing, no doubt. But you know what the worst thing about cartoons is? When an amazing cartoon with huge potential gets screwed over by the network! I’ve seen it way too many times like many of you have! So today, I will be sharing with you guys the worst cases of cartoons being screwed over! Here you go!

10. OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes!

Cartoon Network’s treatment of this show really shows how innovation has been getting killed in cartoons as of late. While it started off receiving decent treatment, it all changed eventually halfway through its second season. Out of nowhere, the show gets moved to Sunday afternoon with absolutely no promotion. There were also barely any reruns of the series. All of these factors put together led to the series being canceled without the creator’s consent.

OK KO! Let’s Be Heroes takes place in the distant future in an alternate universe version of Maryland. It revolves around Kaio Kincaid also known as K.O. who has the goal of becoming the world’s greatest hero. He works at a store known as Gar’s Hero Supply & Bodega which sells a variety of items including hero supplies and many others. He works alongside Radicles (an alien from Planet X) and Enid (a female employee at Gar's Hero Supply & Bodega). The crew often have to fight off Boxmore, a store that sells equipment to supervillains. OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes! provides us with a great concept, unique artstyle and characters that all have very interesting personalities. OK KO! Let’s Be Heroes is definitely an amazing series that deserved better. You can watch OK KO! Let’s be Heroes on HBO Max or Hulu!

9. Wander Over Yonder

Ugh…a show with a very optimistic and positive main character. This is what the world needs right now. All we ask is for the show to not get screwed over. Well guess what? It got screwed over hard. In September 2013, Disney started regularly airing Wander Over Yonder, and it was performing decently well. However, in January 2014, it was suddenly taken off the schedule only to return to Disney XD in July 2014. So does that mean the series can finally prosper? Well no, because Disney XD is usually where Disney cartoons go to die, AND they took it off again in February 2015 with 3 episodes of season 1 left unaired. The show returned in August 2015, only to be canceled in 2016 because Disney thought that the amount of episodes they had was “enough” despite the series ending on somewhat of a cliffhanger. This whole situation makes me wonder how the show would’ve performed if Disney did not move it to Disney XD or just entirely remove it from their network multiple times. I would assume it’d have performed well.

Wander Over Yonder is about Wander, a Nomad who goes around to different galaxies to spread positivity and to encourage people from different planets to have fun alongside his friend Sylvia the Zbornak. However, as every story needs conflict, the journey isn’t as easy as he’d like it to be as one of the most powerful villains in the galaxy, Lord Hater often gets infuriated with him while on his quest for galactic domination. I love this show. Some of my favorite aspects of the show are the positive messages, the vibrant designs and of course the fun characters. This show is truly an amazing show that makes me smile whenever I watch it. You can watch Wander Over Yonder on Disney+!

8. Teen Titans

I’m sure we all know about this one. That dreaded cliffhanger hurt us all. Now Teen Titans cancellation was interesting. It was a series that was based off a huge franchise. It was loved by many, and it had DVDs, toys, comics and much more merchandise. So what happened? Well, according to creator, David Slack’s Twitter, he said that season 6 was an on again off again thing. The executives of Cartoon Network would say it would happen, they say it wouldn’t. However, it seems that the people working on the series thought that season 6 would happen, but it never did. It seems another factor that played a hand in the show’s cancellation was that Mattel did not own the licensing for toys, and they wanted to own the rights to manufacture the toys for all Cartoon Network shows. Whatever the reason may be, the outcome is still sad. And Cartoon Network has killed the legacy of Teen Titans more with Teen Titans Go, a show which while I don’t think is as bad as others say, it is definitely a step down from the original.

Teen Titans revolved around a group of 5 heroes known as the Teen Titans. The team consists of the leader Robin, a hero with the power to morph into animals named Beast Boy, an alien princess named Starfire, a cyborg named Cyborg (creativity at its peak hahah) and a goth girl with telekinesis named Raven. The series goes through multiple arcs with each arc focusing on a different character. I love the voice acting, the awesome soundtrack and the fast-paced action. Teen Titans definitely deserved better. You can watch Teen Titans on iTunes.

7. Sym-bionic Titan

Sym-bionic Titan’s cancellation was strange to me. You’d think that Cartoon Network would treat it well seeing how it was made by Genndy Tartakovsky, the guy that made some of Cartoon Network’s most successful programs like Powerpuff Girls and Dexter’s Laboratory. However, even when the team has a great history, Cartoon Network doesn’t seem to put faith in them. The true reason for cancellation is pretty in the dust, but Cartoon Network’s scheduling did not help. It was firstly moved to a Wednesday evening slot which was an awkward time already, but after that with no notice, moved to Saturday morning at 9:30, and let’s be honest: who wakes up that early on a Saturday. This likely caused the show’s viewership to drop, which was one factor to the cancellation, but rumors were all in the air. Another rumor was that toy manufacturers refused to make toys of a show with a female lead, but even that is a bit strange because Young Justice had toys made for it. Either way, the scheduling definitely impeded Sym-bionic Titan from becoming a hit.

Sym-bionic Titan was centered around three beings named Lance, Ilana and Octus from the planet Galaluna who flee their planet to come to earth. Their planet is war-struck, and consumed by creatures named Mutraddi. The leader of the Mutraddi has the goal of killing the rightful heir of Galaluna, Ilana. The three blend in on Earth to avoid being caught by the evil leader. When in grave danger, the three can combine and form the Sym-Bionic Titan. Off the top of my head, I love the character designs this show provides, the writing and darker themes. It was definitely a great show that deserved better, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. 6. Harvey Beaks

I believe the creator himself said that if it doesn’t get the ratings that SpongeBob did, it gets canceled. Harvey Beaks was a series that was definitely treated unfairly. Harvey Beaks suffered a few hiatuses in between, and was even pulled off of Nickelodeon’s schedule at one point. After one of the hiatuses, a block was dedicated to new episodes of Harvey Beaks on Fridays, but even that was pulled out after two weeks. New episodes were aired months after, but with minimal promotion, and the series had no reruns. Eventually, it was banished to NickToons and was canceled without the creator’s knowledge.

Harvey Beaks was about Harvey, a blue bird who alongside his friends, Fee and Foo go through many different adventures in their wild habitat. While it is a pretty basic concept, there is still so much to love about it such as the wholesomeness, the characters and the unique artstyle. Harvey Beaks is the perfect example of taking a basic concept and making it feel unique and refreshing. It was amazing to see a show like this at a time where gross out humor was so prevalent at Nickelodeon. You can watch Harvey Beaks on Paramount Plus!

5. Glitch Techs

Oh wow, a new innovative cartoon with awesome concepts that haven’t been tackled before and very fresh and colorful character designs? I’m sure this will be a hit! Well…it could’ve been. Guess what? Nickelodeon gave this show off to Netflix in early 2020. Half of the first season released, and eventually the second half was, but marketed as a second season, when in reality, it was just the second half of the first season. It was a shame because the series was amazing, and had potential to continue.

Glitch Techs is about two teenagers, Hector and Miko who stop these video game characters that come to life from wreaking havoc across the real life world. I really loved it - the characters along with their designs made it super enjoyable for me, and the premise alone was very intriguing. I’d highly recommend it. You can watch Glitch Techs on Netflix!

4. The Owl House

Another one of the more recent cartoons to be added to the “successful but mistreated” category: The Owl House. The Owl House’s cancellation was really strange in my eyes: Firstly, Disney put out a promo for the show containing information that the series creator Dana Terrace did not want out. This is not really what led to its ultimate cancellation, but it is worth nothing as it shows how Disney treated it from the start. Furthermore, Disney cut the series short for no reason other than it not matching with their brand. Again, it is really strange as the series is widely acclaimed and one of the shows talked about the most in recent months.

The Owl House is about a girl named Luz who ends up finding a portal which takes her to a new world known as Boiling Isles, where she befriends a witch named Eda. She essentially practices becoming a witch with the help of Eda and her demon sidekick King. It was a great series, and the highlights for me were the animation, the LGBTQ representation and the characters who all were very vibrant and unique. 3. Infinity Train

Most of us who have been involved with recent cartoons know about this one…the show with no “child entry point.” Infinity Train was treated pretty terribly from the start with the pilot airing at 6:00 AM. However, it did get support from the viewers which led to it being picked up as a series. And again, even with lots of love, it was screwed over. Infinity Train was unfortunately canceled after its fourth season due to lacking a “child entry point.” A pretty lame excuse if you ask me. Especially since it was performing well already.

Infinity Train is about a train that picks up passengers that have unresolved trauma, and they travel through the train’s cars to resolve their trauma. This series was truly amazing, and it’s obvious why anybody would be mad about its cancellation. I loved the amazing concept, how it is easily able to capture the viewer’s emotions and the morals that the series teaches. It was an amazing series, and I would definitely recommend it. 2. Motorcity

I probably brought back a forgotten memory. Why is it forgotten you may ask? Because of how Disney barely gave it any screen time! It was barely around, and it probably feels like a fever dream. Motorcity started off with being moved around in terms of timeslot constantly, and at one point was moved to a late night time slot. Alongside that, episodes would get leaked which would affect viewership, and unnecessary hiatuses would keep occurring. All this with minimal advertising. It truly is a shame that a great show had to go down with such sloppy treatment.

Motorcity takes place in a futuristic version of Detroit where an evil capitalist billionaire named Abraham Kane has taken over. However, he does have one threat: a group of rebels known as the Burners. The Burners consist of Mike (the leader), Julie (an insider gathering information from Abraham), Chuck (the tech guy), Dutch (the smart one), Texas (the muscle) and Jacob (the old aged mentor). The crew work to stop Abraham from taking over Motorcity, a  small part of Detroit that has not been capitalized by him yet. There is so much to love about this show. Specifically, I like the interesting characters, the well thought out plotline and the fact that the series can often be thought provoking. Motorcity was a great show that deserved better. 1. Detentionaire

Let’s be honest: this show has been screwed over so terribly that it isn’t even that well known because of how tampered it was. Detentionaire was a Canadian Teletoon series which was quite successful in Canada and other countries it aired in such as Australia. Unfortunately though, like most shows, Detentionaire needed a US audience to succeed, and this is where it went downhill. Cartoon Network did purchase the show, but they messed with it a LOT. Firstly, they hid it on their app which barely anyone already used. And by hiding, I mean they made it so people would have to do extra digging to find it. Not only did they do that, but they scrambled the episodes so anybody who did watch it would be confused since it is a story-driven show. Also, only 20 of the 53 episodes were actually on the app. The rest never even made it to the US. It was also only on the app for a short period of time which gave it absolutely no time to gain an audience. This low performance in the US resulted in the show being canceled due to the production company being massively disappointed with the show’s low performance in the US. Being Canadian, Detentionaire was one of my favorite cartoons, and still is. Every time I think of its cancellation, I can’t help but think that it deserved much much better. It makes it even worse that nobody knows the true story of Detentionaire. Detentionaire’s case was one of the worst cases of cartoons being screwed over if not the worst.

Detentionaire revolves around a high schooler named Lee who gets framed for the biggest prank in high school history, and gets a year of detention. He sets out to find out who framed him, but as he goes deeper into the mystery, he starts to discover secrets hidden deep beneath the school that could change the entire world as he knows it. As we get closer to finding out what is truly going on, Lee realizes he has a huge role to play in all of this. This series is truly amazing, and it is criminally underrated. My favorite thing about this series has to be the lore and how it gets increasingly more intense with each episode. Alongside that, I love the characters as they each feel like someone you would encounter in a regular high school, and I love the overall mystery. Detentionaire was an amazing series, and had it been given the right treatment, it would’ve been a hit.  You can watch Detentionaire on the YouTube channel Retro Rerun, or on Tubi!  

These were definitely the worst cases of cartoons being screwed over   to me, but I am sure there are lots more like Detentionaire and Motorcity where they were screwed over to the point where they got swept under the radar and that I didn't even know about them.
