The line "I am free" is gonna' be rattling around in my head for the whole day. The way Buck said it. It was heavy with meaning. Not just that he was free for the date. But he was truly FREE. This is him finally putting the pieces together. Finally acknowledging out loud, that he has it, the last piece of the puzzle. Finally acknowledging that now, everything just fits and makes sense. It's a feeling that everyone queer has had; our OH moment. The moment that we felt our world finally was tilted right. The 'this is me and it feels right' moment. To see that in a character that we love, in a character that we have identified with, in one of the biggest tv shows of the moment when all of us have been skeptical of ever having it?? Indescribable.

throwback to the time a 15 yr old student of mine asked 'are you non-binary?' in a random empty classroom as I was helping them out w an assignment.

and then when I said yea and asked y she asked and wondered she went shy but entausiastic and answered with 'oh a few friends of mine are too and I was just wondering! thats cool!' and we had a lil convo abt why I didn't tell the class at large.

like the way kids r so fuckinf accepting and are just curious nowadays as I have an emotional puddle

#the more I think back to my time at my internship the more I think I wanna go back and teach part time when I'm done #bc the relationship i was able to build with some of these kids #the representation and clearity I cud bring to kids just being myself #god rhe way some kids that clearly never felt accepted or welcome by teachers just got exited in my class bc i liked the thing they did #THE ONE KID!!!! Nimona is the best kids film I’ve ever watched. Hands down. I can’t even begin to explain everything that made me love it but I was SOBBING by the end, like harder than I’ve ever cried to any other film, even Wolfwalkers which also made me basically break down.

i fucking hate the people who translated the owl house into my native language.

like, my language is very gender and i already half expected something like this. this episode with raine came up and i was so fucking scared of what they'd do.

and then raine spoke and... okay. so they had a male voice actor. no more androgynous voice, mostly. okay. i can deal with that. that means nothing.

and then they went and used "male" pronouns

and i. i'm kinda hoping i misheard. i am so so so hoping i misheard.

like, they just went and misgendered raine, badly (and also turning their and eda's relationship hetero in the process like no she's bi! she likes nb folks too!)

and now all the kids who only watch it in my native tongue - they'll think they're a guy. but raine ISN'T a guy.

and like. i sort of expected this. i was afraid of it. but now i'm just... i'm so disappointed. there was FINALLY someone like me in media, and it's not a big deal, like raine's nonbinary, they use they/them pronouns, they're neither a guy nor a girl, THEY JUST EXIST AND EVERYONE IS FINE WITH IT!!

and they erased it. they just completely erased it. i don't know what i expected, but.... fuck them translators. FUCK them.
