Daniel's post-sprint interview: "I feel like I gave it the right amount of time to feel confident with it, so yeah the hand hasn't affected me this weekend. [...] I hate saying this because I am very experienced, but this year, I am not very experienced. There was a little bit of race rust. A few little decisions on track, which I should have known better. [...] [Stroll] got me into T12, which I was kind of kicking myself for, so that was one little race-rusting that I was a bit frustrating with myself, got him back a few laps later. I like that move. That made me feel a little better about myself!"

Bloodlines Book 2 The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
Illustration from Chapter 12
Wolfe's main move today was on how to break out of someone's hold if we were grabbed from behind. He had a couple of techniques which weren't much more complex than head-butting or stomping on feet. Adrian and I took turns being the attacker while the victim practiced the maneuvers -- in slow motion with almost no contact on our partners. That was what the dummies were for. I was about five inches shorter than Adrian and seemed pretty implausible as an attacker, which made us both laugh each time I made a move. Wolfe chastised us for not being serious enough but gave us high marks for learning the techniques.
This made me feel a little arrogant, enough so that when Adrian turned his back to get a water bottle, I sneaked up from behind and flung my arms around him, pinning his arms in turn. Wolfe had shown us how to break that type of hold, and I honestly thought Adrian had seen me coming enough to slip away before I even touched him. Apparently not.
He froze, and for one moment, we stood locked in time. I could feel the silk of his shirt against my skin and the warmth of his body. The lingering scene of the over-priced cologne he wore floated around me. No smoke for a change. I'd always told him the cologne couldn't be worth what he spent, but suddenly, I reconsidered. It was amazing
I was so awash in sensory overload that I was caught completely unaware when he did push me away.
Tumblr media
"What are you doing?" he exclaimed. I'd thought he'd be impressed at my sneak attack, but there was neither approval nor humor on his face. My own smile faded.
"Testing if you could handle a surprise attack." My tone was hesitant. I didn't know what I'd done wrong. He looked uncomfortable. Almost upset. "What's the matter?"
"Nothing," he said gruffly. For a moment his eyes locked onto me with an intensity that left me breathless. Then he glanced away, as though he couldn't handle looking at me. I felt more confused than ever. "Never though I'd see the day when you'd throw your arms around a vam- someone like me."
I barely noticed his public slip-up. His words drew me up short. He was right. I'd touched him without even thinking about it -- not just a formal Moroi handshake, like usual. Sure, it was in the context of our class, but I knew that I never could have done this a few months ago. Touching him now had seemed perfectly natural. Was that why he was upset? Was he worried about the Alchemists and me?
Wolfe strolled by. "Nice work, girl." He gave Adrian a teeth-rattling slap on the back. "You were totally unprepared for her."
This seemed to distress Adrian even more, and I could've sworn I heard him mutter, "That's for damned sure."

(I had this posted on a dummy account on AO3, but decided it fit Jolly way better so I re-worked it re-wrote half of it and decided to post it here. I hope you all like it! 😊)
(Inspired by this post)
Tumblr media
You didn’t know how long you had been sitting here, your thoughts warm and sluggish, and you blinked rapidly to try and focus on your surroundings with more effort that left you feeling even more drained.
There were groups of people all sitting on plush pillows in the VIP section, huddled close and laughing together, with what appeared to be large ornate hookahs dotted in the middle of each group that released smoke that constantly changed colors. The room was hazy with thick smoke, the faint smell of wildflowers permeating the air, and your body felt like it was submersed in warm water.
You blinked down at your body curiously and remembered suddenly how you got there.
A man known as Jolly had invited you up to the private area when he spotted you strolling with your friends through Pleasure Alley and, as his ‘special guest’ that was being doted on while your friends were left in the group of nameless faces below as his so-called "after party" raged on, you had no choice but to follow his every whim.
The man in question was sitting in the large plush chaise lounge next to you, body stretched out into relaxed sprawl, and one of his arms was wrapped around your shoulders almost possessively if it didn't look so casual. You were nearly in his lap, splayed limply over his chest playing lazily with his many necklaces, and you almost lost track of time again at the feel of his warm fingers trailing over your bare shoulder. You were confused for a fleeting moment, but then realized what you were wearing.
The bright shimmery gold outfit consisted of a bikini style top that left little to the imagination and a skirt that sat low on your hips with a slit up both sides that didn’t stop until it nearly reached the thin waistband of the skirt. You had to be careful when you moved because you had decided against undergarments in a spur of the moment fueled by squeals of encouragements from your friends that you now regretted. You shifted, sitting up lightly to try and get yourself to focus, and you felt Jolly hum at your movement.
“What’s wrong, sugar?” he murmured, reaching over to grip your jaw loosely with beringed fingers, and you looked over at him quizzically.
His bright blue eyes seemed to glitter in the neon lights, a soft crooked smile on his lips, and you felt yourself smiling at him in return.
“Here,” he said, offering you the long thin golden pipe you had been sharing with him earlier, and you weakly swatted it away while wrinkling your nose.
You seem to dimly realize that you were supposed to be on edge, that you were supposed to be wary of the man and the fact that you hardly knew him, but you felt too relaxed and warm to think of why you were supposed to be worried.
“Allow me,” he said softly, sticking the pipe between his lips, before moving it away and pulling you closer by the hand still cupping your face.
He stopped once your lips brushed together, not kissing but pressed together just as closely, and he blew the smoke into your mouth gently. You instantly inhaled, the bright orange smoke tasting of something sharp yet sweet, with a hint of fresh citrus maybe, and you felt your body once more relax against him as warmth churned through you like warm molasses. He didn’t move away once the smoke dissipated, allowing you to nuzzle against his mouth lazily as you enjoyed the way his warm skin tingled against yours, and his laugh was nothing but a low delighted rumble at your antics. He leaned back, letting you move and shift over him until you were nearly straddling him, and you kept rubbing your face against his stubbled jaw like a cat. Each time you brushed against him it was like tiny fireworks going off underneath your skin and you sighed pleasantly when he began stroking his fingers over your cheek. His warm fingers brushed over your parted lips, making you nip at the digits playfully albeit sluggishly, and he hummed again.
“You’re just gorgeous, you know that?” he murmured, seemingly content with letting you nibble on his fingers, and the taste of his skin had you moving closer with a shiver.
“More?” he asked, cupping your jaw again, and you nodded your head after a few moments of you nuzzling into his palm.
This time, when he blew the smoke into your mouth, the taste of the new vibrant magenta smoke had you licking at his lips in wonder.
“You taste…sweet,” you whispered, pulling back to stare at him curiously, and his eyes were dark as he looked at you.
“I wonder if you taste as sweet as you look,” he said, making you frown in thought, before you were once again tugged forward by the hand gripping your jaw.
His tongue swept into your mouth followed by a new wave of the pink smoke. The warmth in your veins turned molten, every nerve ending tingling, and you suddenly ached between your thighs at the feel of his lips underneath yours.
You shifted, trying to ease the pressure, and you whined into his mouth.
“Sweet…just like I thought,” he said softly once he pulled back, trailing kisses over your cheek and throat, and you tilted your head back to give him better access.
It felt good to have his lips on you, his hot tongue trailing over your fluttering pulse languidly, and you dimly noticed that he was slowly pushing you to lay flat on your back on the chaise lounge. He kept mouthing at you once you were on your back, his body nestling between your legs, and you sluggishly tried to hook them around his hips. You lost the energy midway and let them flop open with a sigh. Then, you felt a rush of cool air on your breasts, and you looked down to see Jolly slipping your top off your body.
“You have such lovely breasts…it’s just a shame to keep the covered, Pussy Cat” he cooed while leaning down to pepper kisses over your sternum.
You watched him curiously, idly pushing his hat off to pet at his hair which made him hum in approval, and he moved up to nuzzle against your breasts. Without warning, he dragged his tongue over your nipple, and you flopped your head back with a small grunt. He lapped at you, making you shiver with each drag of his hot tongue, and then he sucked at the sensitive tip. He groaned, suckling harder at you until you were gasping, then he moved to your other breast. It got the same treatment and you began rocking your hips to try and dispel the growing pressure there. His lips then moved to kiss over your abdomen, tongue tracing random patterns that suspiciously felt like his name while his teeth left indentations on your skin when you shifted at the ticklish sensations, and you felt his hands slip between your legs to knead at your thighs. Jolly then pushed your skirt out of the way, leaving you completely on display, and he purred while nibbling on your outer thigh.
“Wait…they’re watching,” you muttered in complaint, weakly tugging on his shoulders as you realized that you both were still in public, and he made a happy noise in the back of his throat.
“Let them watch, baby…let them see how beautiful you are,” he purred against your skin.
You shivered at his voice, low and drawling, and you felt your heart lurch in your chest at his compliment. You had only known this man for a few hours, ‘or has it been days?’ you wondered sluggishly, and you were already growing addicted to his easy affection. The smoke you had been puffing on for hours was making your head spin, making every nerve light up at the slightest touch, and the feel of his warm skin against your own was making you needy. You reached up to gingerly cup your breasts, sighing softly at the memory of his mouth on you, and you felt him grin against your lower abdomen.
“Want me to take care of you, Pussy cat?” he whispered, moving to nibble on your inner thigh, and your breath left you on a sharp exhale.
Your head was nodding before you even realized it and he just chuckled lowly. He easily spread your thighs wider as he settled between them more comfortably and you made a small noise of protest at being so exposed even as you tried to make more room for him. Then, he licked a slow broad stripe up the center of your aching cunt, and you gasped sharply. He growled, dipping his head down back down to your weeping slit, and began licking at you with a single minded purpose that left you utterly breathless. He swirled his tongue over your clit, suckling softly at you until your hips jerked up towards his mouth, and then he ducked his head lower to lap at your hole. His hands gripped your thighs tightly when you tried to snap them close instinctively, your sluggish thoughts racing as your heart pounded in your chest as pleasure coiled hot and intense in your pelvis, and you whined loudly as your hands shot down to fist in his soft hair. He darted his tongue inside you, making a sound somewhere between a purr and a growl as you wailed his name, as he began fucking into your core with his tongue.
You tried twisting your hips away from the overwhelming sensations, making him pinch the sensitive skin of your thigh in warning, and you cried out while trying to dutifully spread your legs wider. Long fingers suddenly drifted over you, rubbing in tight firm circles over your swollen clit that matched the quick rhythm of his tongue, and you shuddered hard through your sudden orgasm.
Your hips jerked and rocked, hands pulling on his hair, and you gasped and choked out his name as he licked you through your orgasm and then didn’t stop.
He alternated between lapping at your oversensitive clit and fucking into your throbbing entrance with broad flicks of his hot tongue and your second orgasm rushed over you before your body even stopped shivering from the first. His focus was intense, hands bruising against your skin to hold you down, and your breath was leaving you on short sharp pants as your orgasm finally subsided leaving you utterly boneless. You were crying, you realized, tears slipping past your tightly shut eyes, and you felt him pull away with one last lingering lick. He kissed his way up your body, nipping playfully at your sensitive nipples in passing, and his hand gripped your jaw and tilted your head to the side.
“Look,” he murmured in your ear and, helpless to do anything but obey, your eyes fluttered open.
Everyone around you was having sex. Different rhythms and positions, in groups or in twos, but there were all having sex. It was almost like a dream with the room filled with hazy thick smoke and the sounds of moans echoing through the air.
Then, without warning, you felt Jolly pushing inside you.
He was thick and hot, searing against your oversensitive body, and you sobbed at the tight stretch of your cunt struggling to accommodate him. He bottomed out with a deep satisfied groan, snapping his hips sharply against you without giving you a chance to adjust, and he breathed in your ear.
“I think I’m gonna like having you around, Pussy Cat.”

You're Grounded
Summery: Smiley and Angry's little sister tries sneaking out of the house after she gets grounded. It...doesn't go well...
Rating: SFW
Pairing(s): Platonic!Nahoya Kawata x Platonic!Little Sister Reader x Platonic!Souya Kawata
(No incest here fellas)
Tumblr media
To make a long story short, you got grounded. Not by your parents, no no. You got grounded, by your older brothers. And to you, it's a little bullshit. They were one year older than you. Who gave them the right to ground you like you were their child?
So, you're probably wondering, what did you do that was so bad that you were grounded for it? Well...you may or may not...have accidently...got into a fight at school. Not just a screaming match kind of fight, nah, you were going all in. Beating ass left and right on the unlucky son of a bitch who pissed you off.
And when you were caught and given detention, who else came to pick you up other than your older brothers, Nahoya and Souya Kawat. Or better known as, Smiley and Angry.
Now, they each had their own opinions on this situation. Smiley was actually impressed, and felt prideful in his little sis. You barely had a scratch on you! However Angry on the other hand, was not so impressed. More like worried, concerned even. He thought you might have gotten hurt, but to his relief you handled it on your own.
While the two both disagreed about how the situation was handled, they both did agree that this couldn't slide. It would have, if you hadn't started the fight in the first place. And so, they both grounded you on the spot. And now here you were, trapped in your room, while your two dumb jerks for older brothers were chilling with Toman.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"....God I'm so bored!" You groaned loudly. "Like those two don't get into fights too! Why am only I getting punished!?" You sit up from your bed, glaring at your door. While having a stare off with the door in front of you, an idea popped into your head. "Oh that's right...they're not here tonight. They're at a meeting." You say with a smirk. "Tsk, dumbasses. They really thought I was about to stay in here all night." You hopped out of bed and strolled over to your door and opened it. Walking out and into the living room, without a care in the world.
Until it all came crashing down on your head.
Ahead of you, was your two brothers. They were just chilling out on the couch watching some random show. "Hey sis. I don't remember saying that you could leave your room. Did I Angry?" Smiley said with his usual grin...only you could tell he wasn't really grinning. "No..." Angru muttered, glaring in your direction.
"U-uh....b-bathroom?" You manage to say.
"Hm...ok. Go ahead." Smiley and Angry turned their attention back to the TV. 'Fuck!' You yelled internally as you head to the bathroom. You shut the door behind you and slide down the door, knees tucked to your chest. "What the hell are those two bozos doing here instead of the meeting?" You ask aloud.
Well, there was always another way out. Glancing up at the window ahead just beside the shower, you grin. Bringing yourself to a stand, you walked to the window and open it as quietly as possible. Moving one leg out, ducking your head under and out before moving the other leg over, you carefully climbed down. "Ha! Try and stop me now dipshits." You chuckle.
"Gladly."
"Ahhh!!!" You scream as the sudden voice filled your ears. Turning slowly you were met face to face with Angry. And boy...was he ever so angry. Like really angry. "Heeeey bro....nice night huh?"
"....Get back in the house. Now."
"Yep." You hurried back inside.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
And back to square one it is. This time, they actually locked you inside your room. "Come on!" You banged on your door. "What if I really do need to use the bathroom at some point!?" You yelled. "Should have thought about that before you tried sneaking out." Came Angry's response from the other side. "Yeah. And if you do need the bathroom, we left ya a bucket in their with you." Smiley laughed.
"No! That's fucking disgusting! Let me out!" You banged on the door again. "Not until you've learned your lesson. And you try sneaking out again, we'll ground you for another week." With that the two walked away, leaving you alone once again. You groaned and flopped onto your back on the floor of your room. Staring up at your ceiling, thinking up of different ways to escape your punishment.
Begging? No, it might work with Angry, but Smiley wouldn't budge. Throwing hands? Yeah right, you felt like living for a while longer thanks. And you can't use the old puppy eyes, they've grown use to it ever since you turned 15.
Then what could you do?
You couldn't call your best friend Emma for help, since they took your phone...so you were pretty much shit out of luck.
"Great..."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
An hour had passed, you had nearly drifted off while still on the floor. Everything seemed truly hopeless...that is until your remembered...you're a girl! "Yes! That's it!" You whispered before getting up and banging at your door again. "Hey! Jerks! I need out!" "We ain't letting you out dummy!" Smiley yelled back. "I'm serious! It's an emergency!" There was a brief moment of silence, you smirked once you heard footsteps approaching your door. "What is it?" Angry asked, his tone wavered between annoyance and concern. "Souya...this is so embarrassing...I can't believe I have to talk about this cause you won't let me out." You say with a fake sniffle.
This would get him...Angry hated it whenever you were upset. "Y/n? You can tell me." His voice was much softer now. Hell yes. "I just started my period...And I don't have any pads." You heard him hum on the other side. "I'll get them. But Smiley is going to stay here and make sure you don't leave the house."
"Can I at least go and clean myself up?" You ask with pitiful tone. There was a moment of hesitance before the sound of clicking. Angry opened the door and let you out. You hid your face in attempt to look embarrassed. "Thank you Souya." You say as you make your way to the bathroom. From outside you could hear the distant muffled conversation between Angry and Smiley before hearing the front door open and shut.
Before you could think of what to do next, you heard what could only be Smiley walking past the bathroom and up to his own room. Oh yeah, it's all coming together. Waiting a few minutes, you left the bathroom and quietly snuck to the front door and opening it as silently as you could. And just as you were about to taste the sweet taste of freedom...
"Going somwhere?"
Angry. Fucking Angry was standing at the front door, arms crossed.
"....Are you shitting me?" You utter blankly. Angry stepped forwards, backing you into the house again. "Your period was last week." He told you. "I know this because you called and asked me if I could get you some products."
Oh yeah....right...
"Nice try shit head. And now you're double grounded." Smiley said from behind you.
Well. No one can say you didn't try.

Ahh-
I might do a follow up to this, idk-

saying things they don’t mean during an argument
Tumblr media
 navi | masterlist | taglist
thank you to anon for this request <3
characters ♡ msby black jackals (hinata, sakusa, atsumu, bokuto)
content warning ♡ angst, hurt to comfort, fluff, swearing, crying, adoption  (sakusa’s) & suffocation (?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kōtarō bokuto
♡ you sighed, crossing your arms over your chest - you knew he was a bit boyish sometimes but you never expected him to be so childish in regards to a simple request
♡ ‘bokuto, i have so much on my plate!’ you cried, tightly gripping the sheets underneath you, ‘planning the wedding, going to work, doing almost every chore in this damn house and filing all our fucking taxes!’
♡ you momentarily paused to look at him, expecting a look of sympathy but instead getting an eyeroll which prompted you to continue, ‘and all i am asking for is you to run a few errands! that’s it! why are you so opposed? i thought you enjoyed grocery shopping?!’
♡ bokuto pulled his night-shirt over his head as he stormed to his side of the bed, ‘it’s not fun without you!’  he whined childishly, plopping himself down next to you and gasping when you had the audacity to shuffle away from him
♡ ‘it’s not supposed to be fun, bokuto!’ you yelled, completely fed-up with him at this point, ‘a few errands, that’s all i ask of you!’
♡ bokuto notices how your voice shook and your lashline glistened; he didn’t want you to cry so he begrudgingly gave it, but with a strong comment to go along with it so you knew that he really didn’t want to
♡ 'fine! i don't need you anyway!'
♡ then proceeded to dramatically pull the duvet over himself and pout, averting his gaze to the wall opposite
♡ in this context, he hoped that you’d understand his comment and not take him too seriously but since you were already on the verge of tears, this simply pushed you over the edge
♡ you buried your face in your hands and hid under the blanket in hopes he didn’t realise you were crying but his senses are just different when it comes to you so try stifle that sob all you want, he’s still going to hear it and he’s still going to instantly pull you into his arms while frantically apologising
♡ ‘please don’t cry, (y/n)! i really didn’t mean it- i do need you! i love you so much, my life wouldn’t be the same without you! you do so much for me and i am so sorry for not showing you how grateful i am! like you’re so pretty and kind and talented and smart - only geniuses can do taxes - so i’m just so lucky to be with you and i can’t wait until we’re married. please, don’t leave!’
♡ eventually his praise slowly became pleas as he begged for you not to leave/hate him
♡ he does not want to lose you bc of a silly comment he made-
♡ eventually his endless pleas started to become more than background noise to your sobs, so you finally hugged him back, whispering, ‘i can’t wait to marry you too, kō.’
♡ this action lifted a massive weight off his chest and he let out an audible sigh of relief, his grip on you loosening, ‘mhm, and of course, i’ll run the errands, babe. i suppose, it’s the least i could do.’
♡ you hummed in agreement, glad that a part of your mental stress had been relieved, allowing you to finally relax in his arms and perhaps doze off in his loving embrace
♡ ...
♡ ‘mm, you smell like marshmallows, (y/n)- can i add marshmallows to the shopping list?’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kiyoomi sakusa
♡ he spoke as if you were making some crazy, otherworldly request but in reality, all you were asking was for him to take paternity leave to help you care for the baby
♡ you’re not really a baby-expert so you thought that sakusa would be happy to stay home and learn how to care for the child with you - as a couple, as a team
♡ but he was extremely opposed to the idea, spewing out a much of nonsense as to why he needs to go to work, but a part of believed that he just didn’t want to deal with his child - or maybe, he didn’t want to deal with you
♡ ‘sakusa, how do you expect me to raise a whole baby on my own! they need a lot of attention - i don’t think you understand how big of a commitment this is, you can’t treat it like a hobby!’ you cried, having long before burst into tears because your mind told you the worse - that he didn’t actually love you, he lied about wanting a kid, he lied when he said ‘i do’.
♡ usually during arguments when he notices that you’ve started to cry, he’ll drop everything he was doing to shuffle over to you and wrap you in arms, then whisper sweet-nothings into your ear until you feel better but today, he showed little consideration to your emotions as he continued pacing through the living room while you bawled your eyes out on the couch
♡ ‘i thought you loved (c/n)! you were so gentle around them but it turns out you’re not even willing to take a paternity leave to help take care of them!’
♡ ‘what happened to the man i married?’
♡ ‘kiyoomi, you need to revaluate yourse--’
♡ you wouldn’t allow him to get a word in, which was probably for the best considering he had nothing good to say
♡ but you were forced to cut yourself off when heard the sound of shattering so you immediately search for the source of the noise and there stood sakusa, his hand resting on the decorative table in the place your framed wedding photo once was - now, it was laying smashed on the ground surrounded by it’s own glass shards
♡ he pushed it off like the petty bastard he was
♡ while you sat stunned, staring the mess he just voluntarily made, he quickly turned on his heel and strolled away at a leisurely pace, 'my life was a lot easier before you entered it.'
♡ that was the last you heard of it for the next three days - you were giving each other the silent treatment
♡ you couldn’t have any sort of grain for three whole days bc they are all on the top shelf and you usually make him grab it for you but you refused to talk to him-
♡ you were the first one to break it though as you noticed that he hadn’t went to work for the last three days and curiosity got the better of you
♡ ‘kiyoomi.’ you called out to him from the kitchen but he didn’t even look up from his book - ‘parenting for dummies’ - causing you to scoff, ‘why aren’t you going to work? did something happen?’
♡ finally, he sighed and shifted his gaze off his book but only to shoot you demeaning look, as if you were stupid, ‘paternity leave, duh.’
♡ the corners of your lips twitched into a smile, which you quickly forced away when you recalled the events that occurred three days ago and the hurtful things he said, instinctively looking over at the decorative table to remind yourself of what he did
♡ but to your surprise, the picture was no longer laying on the ground, pooling in shards of glass but rather, it sit on the table with a brand new frame - which had both of your initials engraved onto it along with the date of the ceremony
♡ you didn’t need to choke out an inquiry as sakusa noticed your stunned expression and answered on his own, ‘i bought a new frame. i hope you like it.’
♡ of course you liked it; this one was a chic black with silver decals which matched your living room aesthetic way better than the other, tacky blue one did - plus, this one was customised which made you love it even more
♡ ‘i do. i really do. but i don’t like your attitude lately.’ you muttered, shaking your head as you waddled over to the couch
♡ sakusa was quick to wrap his arms around your waist and pull you down next to him, ‘i’m sorry, love.’ his voice cracked slightly as he whispered in your ear, ‘i cannot put into words how much harder my life would be without you. i just..hope you understand.’
♡ it’s not that sakusa was bad with words; he was just too emotional and overwhelmed to produce a long, coherent sentiment for you so he just prayed that you recognized that everything he said on that day was meaningless
♡ ‘i love you, (y/n).’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
atsumu miya
♡ you rolled your eyes, ignoring him and continuing to type your essay until atsumu slammed your laptop closed
♡ ‘please, (y/n)! you know how much this means to me! i’ve been waiting for this festival for years!’
♡ you scoffed, folding your arms and patiently waiting for him to move his filthy hand off your laptop, ‘i do and i’m proud of you. but i have a lecture that day and my exams are just around the corner - and you know how much my education means to me.’
♡ atsumu had to take a moment to suppress a gag at how sickening and condescending your tone was, ‘it’s just one lecture, (y/n)! you’re not going to fail your exams because you missed one lectu--’
♡ ‘you don’t know that.’
♡ atsumu blinked twice, a unimpressed expression painted on his face as he let out a sigh, realising there was no possible way he’s going to be able to get through to you - i mean, he’s been trying for the last 20 minutes to no avail
♡ he ran his hand through his hairs, turning on his heel, heading towards the door and left
♡ but not before peering over his shoulder to shoot you a nasty glare and spitting, ‘you’re so selfish. you can’t even do one thing that’d make me happy - you never can.’
♡ that was the final thing he said to you for the next....20 minutes
♡ that’s actually a new record for him - usually he storms out of the room, sulks for a minute or two then renters to beg for your forgiveness
♡ but not today. he was so mad that he needed 20 whole minutes to cool down and come to his senses
♡ but once he did, when he came back into the room, he expected to see you typing your essay or studying as usual since his words don’t usually effect you too much
♡ so of course he was shocked when he slipped back into your shared bedroom to see you with the duvet tossed over your whole figure, faint sobs coming from underneath
♡ his immediate reaction was to pull the blanket away and offer himself as your source of heat, so he wrapped you in his muscular embrace, ‘b-babe.’ he stuttered, eyes-wide as he never would’ve thought you’d take his words seriously, ‘are you okay?’
♡ he knew that was a stupid question but he simply asked it to determine how sad you were - and considering you weren’t able to babble out a reply, that wasn’t a good sign
♡ ‘you’re not selfish.’ he reassured you while rubbing circles on your back, ‘if anything, i was being selfish- and nothing makes me as happy as you do, (y/n). i- i really didn’t mean it.’
♡ he paused only to place a kiss on the top of your head, ‘i love you- and to show you how much i love you..i’ll drop you off at your lecture on that day, and take you to the festival afterwards; does that sound good?’
♡ you were finally able to choke out a response but only to explain how unachievable his idea was, ‘my lecture finishes at 5 and the festival ends at 7, and there is a 45 minute drive between the two- you’re only going to be able to spend a little over an hour there.’
♡ ‘and i’ll have a blast in that time!’
♡ you sighed, your lips twitching into a small smile as you buried your face into his chest as you really couldn’t look him in the eye, ‘and why can’t you just go without me again?’
♡ ‘who the fuck am i going to play dance dance revolution against if you don’t come?’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
shōyo hinata
♡ you crossed your arms over your chest, internally regretting ever opening your mouth to try calm down fiancé as now, not only is he even more angry, but also most of his anger with now directed at you rather than manager, like it was previously
♡ eventually, you started to develop a headache from all his screaming and shouting so you politely asked him to calm down, to which he replied, ‘calm down?! you’re the one who made me mad with your rude-ass comment and now you’re telling me to calm down?!’
♡ you preferred it when he was demanding for you to say ‘butt’ instead of ‘ass’ because now that’s he spent more time with bokuto, he’s started swearing more often and to be honest, it’s scary when a 5″4 ginger sunshine is yelling at you, calling you a ‘rude-ass’
♡ ‘shōyō, if i’m completely honest, i have no idea why what i said was so mean and i have no idea what’s going on- why are you so mad at your manager?’
♡ suddenly, he twisted his neck to look at you as if you had just been possessed, ‘what?’ he inquired in a hushed tone, his voice hoarse and oddly sinister
♡ you quirked a brow, too tired of his constant bitching to pay attention to his tone of voice, ‘yeah, you speak too fast, shōyō.’ you said with a shrug, checking your nails to ensure that he knew that you truly did not care about how he scowled at you, ‘plus, i just don’t understand why this gets you so worked up - i try, i really do, but i guess your volleyball problems just go over my head.’
♡ hinata clenched his fist, realising that he wasn’t going to make any progress by complaining to you. he whipped his head away before storming off, not even sparing you a final glance, ‘you just don’t get it; you don’t understand anything i say and you don’t even make a fucking effort! you just think you are so much better than everyone - well, you’re not! try coming back down to reality with the rest of us, and then we can talk.’
♡ followed by a slam of the door which rattled through the whole apartment
♡ you really had never seen hinata so angry before in your 6 years of being together
♡ the words he said were far from pleasant and a part of you wondered in he genuinely meant them, perhaps he had been supressing those thoughts for ages and now that he was finally mad, he could let it all out
♡ though you tried to reassure yourself that everyone says things they don’t mean when they are angry, but the tears started flowing on their own
♡ hinata didn’t plan on seeing you for another few hours as he had the idea of heading over to bokuto’s, have a drink and cool down but when he hopped out the shower, he realised he had left his phone in the bedroom - where he left you.
♡ begrudgingly, he slid into the room with the intention of grabbing his phone then leaving but that went to shit when he noticed that you were bundled up under the blankets, and he could hear distant sniffles coming from underneath
♡ and hinata only has four moods: mad asf, happy asf, loving you & volleyball...asf
♡ so upon seeing you in such a state, presumably because of what he said, elicited his mood to change from ‘mad asf’ to ‘loving you’
♡ he pounced on you, causing you to fall sideways and squeal but he simply did not give a fuck
♡ ‘baby! i am so sorry! i didn’t think what i said would make you cry!’ he blubbered, or at least, that’s what it sounded like since you couldn’t actually see him due to the fact he had trapped you under the blankets, ‘i don’t know why i even said that! you’re not like that at all- i don’t think of you like that!’
♡ he paid little regard for your pleas of mercy as you squirmed frantically under the blanket, trying to escape his grip and body weight. he simply continued babbling on about how sorry he was and how amazing you are, ‘you are down here with the rest of us - i just said for no reason. please don’t be mad! you are - what does bokuto call it again? - oh! a humble--’
♡ ‘shōyō! i’ll forgive you if you get off me right now - i can hardly breathe!’

Going out on a date with Genshin boys - Kaeya
Tumblr media
Genre: Smut
Pairing: Kaeya x gn reader
„You’re late.” You shoot Kaeya an ice-cold look as he enters Angel’s Share and leans in, to peck your cheek.
He pushes the chair back and sits down, casually letting his hand wander under the table to squeeze your thigh, and a smirk replaces his broad smile as he winks at you.
„Good things come with time, don’t they, Baby?”
Smooth motherfucker. Somehow, the cocky Knight of Favonious always comes up with the most appropriate of comebacks on a whim.
„Tsk.” You roll your eyes in annoyance but Kaeya knows better than that, and notices the corner of your mouth subtly quirking upwards, which you promptly attempt to hide from your sneaky boyfriend.
He scoops you closer, his arm clinging to your waist.
„My poor girl/boy. You must have been awfully bored without me.” Kaeya sing-songs right next to your ear. His hot breath fanning over your scarlet cheeks.
„Diluc kept me company,” you mutter quietly, body stiff in his arms.
„Exactly.”
You almost spew your wine, shoulders shaking so hard as you nudge Kaeya’s chest, trying not to piss your pants. He’s laughing too, silently relieved that the frown on your face is long gone and forgotten.
„He’s going to hear you, dummy.” Your eyes crinkle and voice grows bubbly as you hold your sides writhing in Kaeya’s tight clutch.
The captain shrugs his shoulders indifferently and presses his lips to yours. Your pupils dilate and heart races in your chest once Kaeya delves his tongue into your mouth. Suddenly, all you can smell is him and it does funny things to your stomach. When your lips part, Kaeya looks at you through half-lidded eyes. Blood boils under your skin.
„So, aside from stealing my breath away, what else would you like to do tonight, Baby?”
Oh lord.
Dates with Kaeya are always casual. Sipping wine in the tavern or a stroll around Mondstadt during his lunchtime. With the golden mouth of his, the cavalry captain can turn any activity into a date. One that you would find yourself looking forward to, as well.
So, it should come as no surprise that you’re now pressed to the wall with Kaeya’s breath lingering on your flushed face. His hands slide down the stoney surface, and he places them on each side of your head.
„Kaeya, what do you think you’re doing?” You blink rapidly at the man invading your personal space.
„Sheltering you from rain, of course”
Isn’t that obvious, though? You got caught in the rain on the way back from the tavern. Kaeya, being the gentleman he is, suggested waiting for it to ease off and hide under the tree in one of the back alleys of Mondstadt. It’s long past midnight and the streets are mostly empty. His face looks even more attractive illuminated by the moonlight.
Kaeya’s lips softly hover over your collarbones and it makes you shiver when he presses a feather-like kiss to the protruding bone. He chuckles and immediately repeats the action. Your brain short-circuits as the captain continues placing a kiss after a kiss on the exposed skin. His long lashes flutter seductively when he glances up to admire your face.
„Is that not to your liking, Kitten? If you want me to stop you better tell me that now.” He warns, sneakily hooking his arm around your waist.
„Nu-uh.” Not the most articulate of answers, indeed, but you’re too busy stifling a moan when Kaeya pushes his thigh between your legs. Desire glows in his eyes when your hips buck forward on instinct.
„What a good little girl/boy you are, huh?” His breath dancing on your skin when his face gets closer to yours. Kaeya traps your lower lip between his teeth and nibbles on it delicately, eliciting a soft gasp from you. He loosens his grip around your waist and lets his hand travel lower, to your ass. He squeezes it harshly and guides you on his thigh. Your core flush against Kaeya’s thick leg. Little shivers of panic and pleasure shoot through you as he encourages you to rub on his clothed skin. He repeatedly squeezes your ass cheeks to make you start moving. Once he hikes up his leg, you’re thoroughly gone.
„Oh, n-noo! I can’t!” A cry of protest leaves your lips but your body betrays you as you thrust forward, wantonly rubbing on Kaeya’s thigh.
„Oh, Kitten,” Kaeya’s gaze lowers to your crotch and he smiles smugly, „Your face gets all red each time you lie to me.” He begins moving his pelvis in unison with you, the non-existent distance applying even more pressure to your sex when it slides up and down the captain’s thigh. The rush of sensations overcoming your body is overbearing.
„I want to feel you properly.” To your astonishment, Kaeya removes his leg with a quizzical smirk on his lips. His fingers hook around the waistband of your shorts and he yanks them down together with your underwear. You’re almost swept off your feet when Kaeya once again forces his thigh between your legs. There is a sound from the back of his throat, a fervent growl that goes straight to your groin. If it wasn’t for his tight grip, your legs would surely give out. With his hard-on pressed to your trembling thigh, the captain begins rocking your bodies, back and forth. Your chest is heaving, erratically going up and down as you try to breathe. Moans falling from your lips, one more desperate from another while Kaeya circles his hips in a rhythmic motion. Having forsaken the last shred of decency, you press yourself against his thigh, digging your nails into his back. He shudders, equally lost in the raw sensations of your bodies so shamelessly dry-humping out there in the open.
„Cum with me, please.” You’re dazed. Suddenly, your chest feels even heavier than before. When Kaeya fixes his gaze on you, there is only feeling and need. No traces of cockiness and his usual overconfident attitude left. Pure longing radiating from the tender movement of his lips against yours. These intense emotions leave you both aching for each other, the rest is of no importance. The drops of rain no longer bounce back against the green leaves above your head. The sky is serene again.
He groans, low in his throat when you push back eagerly, over and over again, so that he feels his erection twitching with each roll of your hips. The build-up tension in your lower belly drives you to go hard, relentlessly fucking yourself on your boyfriend. Kaeya’s sturdy body shaking just like yours, the trails of fire budding inside of him overtaking his whole being. The captain’s sweaty palm finds purchase on yours, and with the last snap of his hips, both of you reach your peak. For a brief moment, there is absolutely nothing you can hear or see, it’s like the calm after the storm. Kaeya’s soft „I love you's” whispered into your neck bring back your clarity.
„Well, at least we didn’t get wet, right Captain Kaeya?”
His eyes glance down to your lower region, mouth curving into a smile.
„Are you sure about that, Baby?”

prompt | anonymous asked: Could I get some general relationship headcanons (with some fluff please!) for Chishiya, Arisu, and Kuina 🥺👉👈 let me know if you need a more specific ask! :)
warnings | written with the intention of female pronouns but can be read as gender neutral, very minor suggestive implications, mentions of alcohol, nicotine and eating habits, might be considered kinda cheesy oops, the use of the pet name ‘bunny’.
word count | 1.4K
author’s note | ‘m loving this request. this is written with the intention of it being pre-borderlands.
Tumblr media
Shuntarō Chishiya
- Frequenting local cafes for routinely study dates. He helps you with topics that you may struggle on and you buy him the bizarre flavored ‘treat of the week’ as a thank you. He jokes around that you’re probably using him as a test subject, because who would order sweet potato brownies with the premise that they would taste good. Much to his surprise, they actually do.
- Visiting a cat cafe once, but not getting around to completing any work. The image of Chishiya cradling a fluffy kitten close to his chest and holding softened eye contact with it is now your permanent lock screen. He has a matching lock screen of you holding a kitten from under the armpits and touching noses with it.
- Learning new skills together. Chishiya is pretty much down for anything that he considers interesting enough. That’s how you ended up frustratingly trying to follow along to a complex origami cat tutorial at 2 in the morning as Chishiya worked quietly with his earbuds in, listening to a different tutorial. Only once he presented you with a perfect paper flower did you smile for the first time in the past hour, the frustration dissipating. That very flower has claimed its indefinite place on your bedside table, something that didn’t go unnoticed by him.
- Doing escape rooms together every so often. It baffles you to some degree how he figures things out so easily, but then again, you’ve known how smart your boyfriend was since the day you met so it shouldn’t really come as a surprise. You just can’t help but admire him, and voice these admirations out loud. Your compliments being the only ones which truly affect him.
- Despite how genius your boyfriend is, you remain concerned about the mental toll college might have on him. If he is stressed, he barely gives it away, but you’ve grown to read through his indifference and pick up when something is wrong - even if he’s attempting to hide it for your disburden. You allow him to de-stress in your arms, playing with the tips of his hair and speaking through what has got him so troubled.
- Late night dates that consist of trips to the corner store where you buy your favourite snacks and walk down to the beach together. It’s a relaxing way to wind down after a stressful week filled with work and college. If it’s not too cold that night, you substitute sitting on your usual bench for a stroll along the sand. If he finds a pretty seashell, Chishiya will give it to you wordlessly.
- He buys you a lot of small things that reminds him of you. A cute keychain he found by chance while buying groceries, splurging his money on a random claw machine because he spotted a plushie character from that show you really like, buying your favourite snacks to calm you down before a big exam that you’ve been studying really hard for. It’s the little things that show how much he really loves you.
Ryōhei Arisu
- Offering him a place to stay for a few days if he needs a break from his family, Arisu will pack up his gaming laptop along with him and you two will game with each other side by side. He anticipates the moment you rest your head on his shoulder and once you do, he rests his own head upon yours with a small: “you tired, bunny?”
- Being extremely supporting and non-judgemental on the topic of him getting a job. You search listings almost daily and send any promising ones through to him, leaving an encouraging message afterwards in hopes he gets the right intention. You care for him deeply and don’t want to see his father eventually kicking him out the house for being unemployed and making the situation ten times more difficult for him.
- Helping him get out more and introducing him to places he quickly grows to love. A quaint coffee shop with a grassy roof hidden deep within the cracks that he never would have found if it weren’t for you. It’s become your usual spot for dates, and Arisu enjoys the tranquility of it all.
- Going on trips to the game store together, even though Arisu usually just buys all his games online, and he’s pretty sure you do too. Regardless, it’s an excuse to meet up and hang out for a few hours after, something he’s found has become more enthralling than gaming.
- Staying up on video call into the late hours of the night as you both battle it out on some mmorpg. You’re confused when you see his idle avatar and look over at your phone screen to find him staring at you in a trance. It catches you off guard at first, but seeing him snap back to reality upon getting caught and getting all flustered left you replaying the scene over in your head for days later.
- Dates to the arcade, because of course. You two definitely hog a specific game with a line of pouting children waiting impatiently to get their chance. Arisu only agrees to move on when you mention a new game you spotted earlier. There is no new game, you just feel bad for the kids. Once he’s caught on, you merely give his lips a quick peck and you’re instantly forgiven.
- Playing in one of those immersive game machines with the curtains on both sides, only for Arisu to stare at you dumbly, leaving you a flustered and confused mess. This usually leads to a one-sided lean in and a small make out, only for an innocent kid to pull back the curtain and run away mortified. Their screams are the highlight of your boyfriend’s day, and you swear he’s holding some mental record of how many kids he traumatize through doing this.
Hikari Kuina
- Working at the same clothing store and having Kuina intervene whenever you’re faced with a rude customer. She might not be all too friendly if they insulted you, and if getting fired is the cost of standing up for you, then so be it. You’d quit alongside her and find some place new to work.
- Helping tend to her sickly mother in hospital, whom you had made speechless upon your first visit. She was delightfully thrilled upon finally being introduced to her daughter’s significant other, Kuina sharing to you afterwards that she hadn’t seen her mother smiling so brightly in a long time. You always present her mother with gifts upon each visit, whether it be flowers or a small cake. She’s become like your own mother, and so you help pay towards hospital bills as well.
- Comforting Kuina if she ever gets upset about her past (especially her relationship with her father) or her mother’s current poor health. You make her feel so valid; it leaves her a sobbing mess in your arms as you comfort her with soothing strokes and affectionate mumbles. Once her wailing has calmed, you offer to make her favourite - hot chocolate topped with cream.
- Constant sleepovers, which include wearing face masks, ordering takeout, watching some sappy romance before switching it over to an action movie and sipping on some cheap beer. The buzz of the alcohol always makes you more daring as you suggest showering together, and you’re never turned down by your equally audacious girlfriend.
- Helping her overcome her nicotine addiction and being the initial person to suggest chewing on a dummy cigarette whenever she felt the urge to smoke. Her mother couldn’t thank you enough for getting her into this, expressing her hidden fear of having to watch Kuina smoke herself into ill health or worse, a premature grave.
- In return, she looks out for your own well-being: reaching out to hold your hand before you both cross the street, showing up with lunch the next day at work if she thinks you haven’t been eating as much lately, keeping headache pills in her bag ever since you complained about a migraine that one time, keeping an extra umbrella in the break room just in case it rains later that day and you’ll need one.
- It’s never a dull moment dating Kuina, always planning fun and exciting dates like getting drunk in a private karaoke room only for it to lead to sloppy make outs. The one time she was so insistent on riding the kiddies train at the amusement park, only for the both of you to fall off once you reached the sharp bend in the tracks. It left you both a giggling mess, but the pain afterwards definitely made the whole situation regrettable.

— pretty boy
summary: you’re best friends with the new up-and-coming hero, toshinori yagi. pet names are a force of habit for you, and toshinori happens to be “pretty boy”.  despite the nickname, he shows you how serious he is about becoming a hero
pairing: young all-might/toshinori yagi x reader
w/c: 1.9k
warnings: creepy dude grabs the reader against their will, but that’s about it
requested by: @lady-latte (ty for sending this in love!! i need some more toshinori in my life)
Tumblr media
“Hey there, Pretty Boy!”
The nickname came as smoothly as silk does, falling from your lips and out into the warm summer air like honey dripping from its comb. It was a nickname that had always felt natural, despite its embarrassing nature. If it ever bothered Toshinori Yagi, he never showed it.
He grinned as you strolled up to him. His blonde hair was sticking out in its usual unruly manner, with the two pieces of bangs that never seemed to lay flat arched over his sweaty forehead. Magnificent blue eyes pierced through your own in the twilight of dusk, cutting straight through the dim glow from the street lamp nearby.
“What are you doing out here this time of night?” he asked, stretching his bare arms above his head, the muscles bulging in his biceps.
“Wanted to see what you were up to,” you replied with a matching grin, and you leaned against the fence. “Working out again?”
“Yeah,” he said, leaning down and picking up a barbell that lay at his feet. He lifted it with ease and began rhythmically curling it into his chest. “School starts again in a few weeks, and I want to make sure I’m absolutely ready for it. Since my Quirk finally activated, I’ve got a lot of training to make up for.”
You pursed your lips and looked down at the concrete. A dandelion weed was pushing through a crack in the sidewalk, stretching itself and its little yellow petals up towards the darkening sky. You glanced back up to Toshinori and smiled again. “I know you’ll be amazing,” you encouraged, your eyes following the barbell in his hands: up and down and up and down. “I heard you got a new mentor.”
“I did,” he said, straining against the weight. A drop of sweat slid down his face as he set the barbell down. “She told me to keep it on the low for a bit, so--sworn to secrecy.” He made a show of locking his lips with an invisible key before tossing it out of sight.
You laughed. “I wasn’t going to ask anyways, dummy. I’m sure you’ll tell me who this amazing new teacher is when the time is right.” After a few seconds, you bit your lip with uncertainty and studied him before asking, “Right?”
Toshinori wiped his brow again and looked at you. “Of course I’d tell you. You’re my best friend.”
“Don’t you forget it,” you chuckled, playfully punching his shoulder. Man, he really put on some muscle over the summer, you noticed, rubbing your knuckles as you pulled your arm back. As he stretched his arms up over his head again, you tilted your head to the side. And a good couple inches. “How...how tall are you, now?” you tentatively asked.
Toshinori relaxed and glanced down at himself. “Dunno,” he said with a shrug. “Haven’t measured myself lately.”
“You really grew over the summer,” you half-heartedly joked, crossing your arms. “Are you...okay?”
His disposition shifted at the question, and for a moment you saw how tired he really was--but the moment passed, and he was back to being Mr. Walking Sunshine. Toshinori flashed you a toothy grin and gave a thumbs-up, “Yeah, why wouldn’t I be? All of my dreams are coming true!”
“Alright, alright,” you conceded. “Just checkin’, Pretty Boy. We wouldn’t want anything happening to the world’s next #1 hero, would we?”
“You really think I can do it?” he quietly asked, bending down to pack up his weights. His face was hidden from you, but you could hear the doubt in his voice.
You reached out and placed a hand on his warm shoulder, feeling the muscles flexing beneath your fingertips. “I know you can do it, Toshi.”
He stood up tall and grinned down at you. “Heh. Thanks, y/n. I know I can always count on you to believe in me.”
“Race you to the end of the block?”
“You know you’ll never be able to beat me.”
“Hey, you’ve got a literal weight to hold you back,” you laughed, already jogging towards the street. “C’mon, that new movie is playing at the theater--loser has to buy the popcorn.”
“I don’t know why you insist on doing this to yourself, y/n!” Toshinori called out from behind you as you started running. He seemed pretty far back, and you used this as motivation to run faster and harder down the city street towards the movie theater. The summer air sung with cicadas as the early stars came out to twinkle in the sky above you. But just as you were getting into a good rhythm, you heard his thundering footsteps on the sidewalk behind you.
“I’ll take my popcorn with extra butter!” he shouted at you as he sprinted by, his blonde hair flying in the wind.
“One day I’ll figure out how you’re cheating!” you shouted back, your lungs already gasping for precious air.
Toshinori’s face was adorned with a triumphant smile as he flew down the length of the street, his duffle bag full of weights strapped to his back. “--and some yakitori to go with it!” he called over his shoulder at you before disappearing around the corner.
You slowed down to a jog, and then to a walk, and you breathed heavily to regain your composure. No matter how many times you challenged him, or how many times he insisted on giving you a headstart--he always beat you. Always.
You’re going to be the greatest,” you murmured under your breath, deciding to walk the rest of the way to the theater. He usually came back to make sure you were okay, even after beating you. It was almost unfair.
But before you could make it to the next block, an uneasy feeling crept over your skin, and all of the hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. Suddenly, the quiet street seemed dark and menacing--nothing like it had been only a few minutes ago. The shadowy corners of the alleys shifted and moved out of the corners of your eyes. It felt like you were being watched.
Your feet began to move quicker down the sidewalk, and you tried to keep yourself within the glow of the street lamps as much as you could. Just a few more feet and you would turn the corner and see Toshinori standing there with that smile on his face, and you’d be safe--
“Where ya goin’ this time of night?” a gravelly voice chuckled from behind you, and you felt calloused hands roughly grip your arm. “Pretty thing like you should know better than to be walking around this part of town all alone.”
You froze in fear, your wide, unblinking eyes staring at the end of the block--waiting for Toshi to appear. Any moment now, and he would come charging to your rescue.
“Hey,” the villain growled, his grip on your arm tightening. “I asked you a question.”
“Let go of me,” you managed to whisper, still staring at the street corner. “Please.”
“Yeah? Heh, or what? What are you going to do?”
You winced in pain as his nails dug into the skin of your arm. “Please,” you said again through gritted teeth. “Let go of me.”
“I don’t think I will,” the villain chuckled, and began pulling you towards a dark alley. “I want all of your money, and maybe I’ll reconsider.”
You knew if you used your Quirk in a public setting, you’d get reprimanded by the school and have to face consequences--but you were never taught what the punishment was, if there was any punishment at all, for using your Quirk in self-defense. You didn’t want to lose your shot at a hero’s license--but then again, you also didn’t want to lose your life.
Just as you were about to activate your Quirk while he dragged you into the alley, you saw Toshinori appear from around the corner. He looked confused, like he wasn’t sure what was taking you so long, or where you even were. But when his eyes landed on you in the grasp of a villain, that confusion was replaced by pure rage, and he charged towards you with a wild snarl on his face.
“Let go of her!” he bellowed, and for a moment you were taken aback by the sheer anger that exploded out of him. You had never seen him this way before.
“Hey, hey, take it easy!” the villain stuttered, immediately releasing you and taking a few stumbling steps backward. Toshinori surged past you and grabbed him by the collar, and shoved him up against the building wall.
“You think you can just weasel your way around here and get away with grabbing people?” Toshinori snarled in the villain’s face. He looked at you over his shoulder. “Did he hurt you? Did he do anything to you?”
You quickly shook your head. “No, no--he just grabbed my arm. I’m f-fine, Toshi.” The wavering pitch in your voice gave yourself away.
He narrowed his eyes at you and he turned back to the villain, who was struggling against the iron grip at his throat.
“If I ever see you bothering anyone in this city again,” Toshi spoke to him, his voice dangerously calm, “I won’t be this nice.” With that, he released the man and looked down at him with disgust. “Now get lost.”
The man wasted no more time scrambling to his feet and taking off in the other direction. Toshinori immediately went to your side and took your face in his large hands.
“When you didn’t show up, I got worried,” he said, searching your eyes. That anger and rage was gone; it had now been replaced with concern and fear. “You promise he didn’t hurt you?”
You swallowed the lump in your throat and shook your head. “He just grabbed my arm and asked for money, that’s all.”
“I’m so sorry,” he said, his voice cracking with emotion as he pulled you into his chest for a hug. “I shouldn’t have left you like that, I’m so stupid. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” you said, your voice muffled by his shirt. “I’m okay. You saved me, Pretty Boy.”
He pulled away and looked down at you, his blue eyes filled to the brim with unshed tears. With a shaky breath, he put on a reassuring smile and tenderly touched your cheek. “I’ll always be there to save you, alright? I promise.”
“You’re going to be a great hero,” you whispered, returning the smile.
He pulled you in for another hug, his eyes glancing down at the bruises forming on your arm from where the man had grabbed you, a reminder that he wasn’t there for you, and he couldn’t protect you. Toshinori Yagi knew, in that moment, that you would never be harmed by anyone else ever again.
“I like that name, by the way,” Toshi said as the two of you started walking together towards the movie theater. He kept you tucked under a protective arm as he gave you a sideways glance. “You think I’m pretty?”
You rolled your eyes and smacked him. “You know you’re pretty.”
He chuckled. “Yeah, but I like hearing it from you.”
“Alright, fine, you’re pretty.”
“That’s my girl.”

MC’s Half Demon and They Look Awfully Familiar Lessons 13-15
Series Masterlist
Y’all know what’s coming up next, time for some *~buildup~*. So I’ve decided to forgo my usual bullet point system for the next two parts in the series so it’ll just be a full fic chapter style thing. Anyway, enjoy the prelude to the angst!
MC was comfortable.
They were sprawled out on the floor of Lucifer’s study, folding and crinkling old bits of paperwork that their father had damned to the shredder. Bean attempted to swat at the loose paper, only to flop onto his back. MC giggled and scratched behind his ears, the kitten batted at their hand in response.
Lucifer was doing paperwork, though he was getting quite distracted by the antics of his child and the cat.
Finishing up their paper snowflakes, MC unfolded them and hummed to themselves. The snowflakes turned out much better than that line of paper people that they had accidentally decapitated earlier.
“Tadaaaa!” MC chirped, holding up the paper snowflakes.
Lucifer looked at them, then chuckled and shook his head. “MC, I know it’s winter up in the human world, but it’s not down here. Why are you making snow themed decorations?”
“There’s no sun in the Devildom, it’s always a little cold out.” MC replied. “So it’s gotten me in a snowflake-y mood.”
Lucifer smiled slightly as he adjusted the paper orchids on his desk. MC had attributed their skill in paper crafts to their plethora of Mother and Father’s Day gifts they had given to their other parent over the years.
“What are you working on now?” He asked as he continued to absentmindedly work through the mountain of paperwork.
“I need to make something for Beel.” MC sighed. “I made him a pizza slice craft… but he ate it.”
“Perhaps this time you should make him a Fangol ball.”
“Yeah… that might be best.”
MC had offered to help out their father with anything involving the exchange program, any questions or improvements to be made, any issues that needed to be solved, and things that could be done to make future students more comfortable. Things were going well, but not every bit of work Lucifer was doing involved the exchange program, which left MC to play with the cat and the loose paper.
“Do you need help with anything, father?” MC asked, rolling onto their back and holding Bean above them.
“Not yet, MC.” Lucifer replied. “Most of your work here is done anyway.”
“Hmph, that sucks.” MC pouted. “I like helping you.”
They caught the ghost of a smile on Lucifer’s face after they said that.
“It’s nice that someone in this house does.”
They continued to play with the cat, Bean ended up getting his claws stuck in the carpet, MC had to help him out, Bean returned the favour by attacking MC’s poor defenseless hand.
“MC?”
“Yes?” MC looked up from their battle with Bean.
“What was your life like in the human world? I assume it wasn’t common knowledge that you’re half demon.”
MC giggled a bit. “Kind of boring, it’s much more exciting down here. Back in the human world I couldn’t exactly practice my magic without needing to explain to the insurance guy that the reason the windows are broken is because I wanted to move the remote closer to me without getting up.”
“Hm.” Lucifer smirked. “Laziness gets you nowhere.”
“I know. But at least now I can move things without breaking anything I don’t want broken.” MC smiled as they used their magic to move their father’s coffee mug a few inches to the left. Lucifer raised an eyebrow.
MC felt their hair get ruffled and their glasses moved slightly off their nose. “What about you, father? What was life like without me?”
“Well, it wasn’t boring.” Lucifer replied. “Just ever so slightly less chaotic.”
Bean lost interest in the game and rushed out of the room to yowl angrily at one of the vases in the library or hallway. According to Lucifer, those artifacts came with the house and were insanely cursed. Bean appeared to be offended that he wasn’t allowed to knock the objects off of the table.
MC took a quick breath and steeled themselves to ask a question they had asked a dozen times before. “What about the time before that? Like when you were in the Celestial Realm?”
Lucifer stiffened in his seat. “Why do you want to know about that?”
“No one really talks about it, and I want to know.” MC frowned, but did their best to shrug as casually as they could. “I also want to know about Lilith, no one ever talks about her.”
“Just wanting to know isn’t a terribly good reason for digging up the past.”
MC bristled at his dismissive tone, every time they had asked about that time he had avoided answering. They ground their teeth as they responded. “Well, this is my family too, I deserve to be a part of it.”
“What does knowing about the Celestial Realm have anything to do with being a part of the family?”
“Because I’m the only one who doesn’t have any memories of it!” MC finally snapped. “Even Satan has some of your memories and I have nothing! I’m being left out and it’s not fair!”
Lucifer looked up from his paperwork and glared at MC. “Watch your tone.”
They looked away and muttered something under their breath.
“Speak clearly, MC, I don’t have time for mumbling.” Lucifer said, his patience rapidly draining.
“I said you sure keep a lot of secrets!” MC growled, getting to their feet and crossing their arms. “You won’t tell me why the Grimoire is downstairs, you won’t tell me anything about the Celestial Realm or the Celestial War, you won’t tell me why I’m not allowed to go in the attic, you’re keeping so much from me!”
“Has it ever crossed your mind that you don’t need to know about any of those things?”
“I don’t need to but I have a right to!” MC felt every single one of their insecurities rise and bubble in their chest. “You don’t trust me, do you? That’s why you won’t tell me anything!”
“MC, calm down.” Lucifer growled.
“No!” They snarled. “You’ve been keeping me in the dark!”
Lucifer slammed his hands on his desk, cutting them off. MC almost flinched at the sudden noise, the silence that followed was deafening as they stiffened their posture and felt their hands curl into fists.
“Take a walk, MC. You’re being ridiculous.”
MC opened their mouth to speak, to yell, to scream about the unfairness of it all, then closed it. What good would it have done? They turned on their heel and stomped out of the study.
—————
Time heals all wounds, doesn’t it? Not this time considering Lucifer and MC were still upset at how their last chat ended.
Mammon, Asmo, Beel, Satan, Levi, and MC were lounging around in the living room. It was time for the monthly repainting of everyone’s nails, and MC was getting their turn.
“You have to take better care of your nails, MC.” Asmo tutted. “Clean them more often, file them, take those vitamins I recommended,”
When Asmo was lecturing someone, it was always very much a: ‘nod and make random affirming noises every once and a while’ situation. Mammon snickered at MC’s predicament.
“Don’t think you’re exempt!” Asmo held up the nail clippers at Mammon. “Your nails are filthy too!”
The two began to bicker, MC rolled their eyes and moved over, their nails were still half finished. Satan let out an explosive sigh and closed his book.
“Another day in paradise.”
“Paradise Lost, you mean?” MC teased, Satan scoffed and rolled his eyes.
The formerly average bickering of the second and fifth borns had slowly begun to escalate to their usual game of ‘who can make the other cry first’, a game which Asmo was defending champion of.
“Would both of you dummies CRAM IT?!” MC turned and snapped, the two ignored them and their shouting only grew in volume. “I don’t even know why I try.”
The two’s fight had shifted from words to throwing things, nail polish bottles, the nail filers, the clippers, pillows, mugs, the coasters, nothing was off limits. A wayward nail polish bottle hit Satan in the head and ended up spilling all over his pants.
“You two…” Satan growled. MC shifted away from Satan and got closer to Beel, Satan had been progressively getting more and more irritated as the day went on, and this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. “YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!”
Satan leapt off the couch which resulted in Beel dropping his massive stack of pancakes onto the floor. MC suddenly felt significantly less safe.
“Beel, it’s okay, we can make more really quickly.” MC offered, gently patting him on the shoulder. Beel looked from MC, to his poor pancakes, then let out a mournful sigh.
“I’m hungry…” he mumbled, MC leaned their head against his arm.
“We could order in from Ristorante Six if you want!”
The entire time that conversation was taking place, Satan, Asmo, and Mammon were in the middle of killing each other. Levi rolled his eyes and shifted his position in the armchair, the sounds coming from his 3DS got louder as he tried to drown out the fighting.
“Tsk… stupid normies.”
Finally fed up, MC shot up from their seat. “WOULD YOU IDIOTS SHUT UP?!”
The creaking of the door to the living room opening caused everyone to freeze, Lucifer..? No… not him.
Belphegor pushed open the door.
As casual as could be, he grinned and gave everyone a wave. “My dearest brothers, oh how I’ve missed you…”
Everyone stood in complete and utter silence as Belphie casually strolled into the room, he surveyed the mess and let out a giggle.
“Geez, don’t fall over yourselves to welcome me home.”
“…Belphie?” Beel took a few tentative steps forward, then rushed forward and scooped his twin into a back breakingly tight hug.
“Hello to you too, Beel,” Belphie’s smile could have lit up the entire Devildom as he gave Beel a few light pats on the back with his one free arm. “You guys could learn a thing or two from him.”
“Y-you’re supposed to be up in the human world, what are you doing here?” Asmodeus finally piped up.
“Well, I wasn’t actually in the human world. I was locked in the attic.”
“What?!”
Everyone with the exception of MC expressed their shock with a variety of cursing and confused exclamations. MC looked down at their feet and clasped their hands behind their back.
“I’m out now,” Belphie gestured to himself. “Obviously. And we have MC to thank for that.”
MC was now the centre of attention, they felt their face burn with embarrassment. “I-I u-uhm…”
“Speak up, MC,” Everyone whipped their heads around to see Lucifer standing in the now open doorway, his posture was stiff but his expression was completely murderous. “What exactly is Belphegor talking about?”
Their heart hammered in their chest and their ears began to ring. Shit… shit… this wasn’t supposed to happen this way… MC’s ribs seemed to constrict and tighten with guilt as their heart continued to race.
“Oh fuck off,” Belphie scoffed. “You know full well what I’m talking about. You’re the one who locked me up there!”
“Lucifer…” Beel growled. “Is that true..?”
“Yes!” MC finally found their voice and met their father’s stare. “It is true! I found Belphie stuck in the attic over a month ago.”
Lucifer’s eyes flashed dangerously as he shifted his gaze to Belphie. “And the attic is where he’ll stay.”
“Like hell!” Belphie spat. “I’m not going back up there.”
“Do you really think you’re in any place to defy me right now?”
“He’s not going back into the attic, Lucifer.” Beel practically snarled.
The air cackled with tension before MC spoke up again. “Father, can’t we just talk-”
“Stay out of this, MC.”
MC felt the tips of their ears redden as they clenched their fists and stepped up next to Beel and Belphie. “No.”
“MC-”
“No!” MC growled. “Why should I listen to you?! You haven’t told me why you took such bullshit measures to keep your own brother locked up in the attic and lied to everyone about it! What gives you the right to tell me what to do?!”
With one final glare shot over their shoulder, MC, Beel, and Belphie stormed out of the house, leaving the other five brothers behind.
Taking into account Beel’s much larger height and amount of strength, it was a miracle MC was even touching the floor while the trio sped down the street. Belphie was completely elated, taking extra time to walk ahead and point things out.
“Ahh,” Belphie sighed, resting his hands behind his head. “It feels so good to be free…”
“I’ll bet,” Beel smiled softly at his twin and ruffled his hair. “I’m sorry I didn’t-”
“Beel, shush. None of this is your fault.” Belphie tutted.
MC kept their eyes trained on the ground, a ball of guilt beginning to form in their gut. Was this the right thing to do? Run away? What were they going to do..?
“MC?” Beel asked as he suddenly lifted them onto his shoulders, MC squeaked in surprise and scrambled to adjust their balance so they didn’t topple over. “You okay?”
“Ye… yes Beel.” MC took a breath before beginning to giggle. “I’m okay.”
“So uh…” Belphie looked around. “Where are we going to go? I don’t have any money on me.”
“Neither do I,” Beel mumbled. “And I left my DDD back at the house…”
MC thought for a moment, then brightened and pulled out their DDD. “Purgatory Hall! Luke owes me a favour, and there’s no way he’d turn us away.”
“Whose Luke?” Belphie asked.
“MC’s best friend.” Beel replied.
“He’s not my best friend!” MC sputtered, nearly dropping their DDD while in the middle of crafting the text to the angel. “He just owes me a favour after I saved him from those stupid lesser demons…”
“Oh, okay then.” MC felt Beel subtly shake his head to Belphie, who snickered.
Soon, the three were crammed into Luke’s room at Purgatory Hall. MC had been there and stayed over dozens of times before, but the near constant smell of baked goods that permeated throughout the entire dorm hall never failed to make them drool. It seemed that Beel was having an even worse time with the amazing smells, he was staring off into space with a long string of drool dangling out of his mouth.
Luke folded his arms and tapped his foot as he tried to unsuccessfully scowl at the three. The angel had just recently come to terms with MC’s parentage but clearly wasn’t ready to host two full demons in his temporary home.
Simeon on the other hand was quickly looking from Belphie, to Beel, then to MC as if trying to glean the details of the entire situation from their facial expressions and posture alone.
It wasn’t difficult to see that MC wasn’t doing terribly good. The realization had finally fully sunken in and they were anxiously fidgeting in their seat.
Belphie seemed the most calm out of the group, he was leaning back against the couch like he didn’t have a care in the world, if the ottoman were just a little bit closer it looked like he might have kicked his feet up.
“So,” Solomon said, absentmindedly twirling a string of bright purple magic between his fingers. “What’s the story here?”
“Family drama…” MC murmured, their eyes unconsciously flicking to look at Belphegor.
“Family drama that was both caused and solved, by you, MC.” Belphie chirped. “I haven’t thanked you for getting me out of the attic yet, have I?”
MC knitted their eyebrows in confusion. “I never got you out of the attic… I haven’t gone up there in over five days…”
“Then…” Belphie said slowly. “What opened the door?”
Now that was a question that couldn’t be answered by anyone in the room, which left the group in quite the awkward spot. In the end it didn’t end up mattering too much, Belphie was just happy to be out of the attic, and even though the trio were technically in hiding, he was just glad that this was all on his own terms.
Beel and Belphie took some time to catch up while Luke and MC played crazy eights. MC was beating him, but Luke didn’t plan on surrendering any time soon. The half demon continued to fidget and twitch throughout the game, their heart and mind racing despite the complete lack of nearby threats. Luke took notice and also began to fidget.
“I…um…” Luke mumbled and looked away. “Are you… are you and Lucifer okay?”
MC pursed their lips and gave him a half-shrug. Luke hadn’t exactly taken the news that Lucifer was MC’s father very well… for a while he refused to even look at MC properly, and when Lucifer found out about how upset that was making MC… Luke was lucky MC was just sad and not angry.
Even Luke with all his ‘demons are awful and evil’ talk, no one could deny that Lucifer cared about MC a whole lot.
“We’re um… I don’t know.” MC finally replied. “He’s mad at me… I’m mad at him… y’know…”
Luke chewed on the inside of his cheek and nodded, awkwardly giving MC a quick pat on the head. “It’s okay, MC. I’m sure it’ll be okay.”
Giggling slightly, MC returned the head pat, their spirits rising slightly. “Gasp! A chihuahua petting someone? This is amazing, call the news stations!”
“Hey!”
After silencing Luke’s yapping and agreeing that he was in fact an angel and not a chihuahua, MC found themselves leaning on the doorway to one of Purgatory Hall’s balconies. Belphie stood with his back to MC, leaning on the railing and letting the wind gently ruffle his hair. He had a serene smile spread across his face as he took a deep breath in.
“Belphie?” MC asked, padding over to look over the railing next to the Avatar of Sloth. “What are you doing out here?”
“Just enjoying the fresh air. The attic got really musty after a bit.” Belphie replied, another gust of wind blew past, making MC shiver. “It’s nice…”
“Well, enjoy it all you want, because you’ll never be stuck up there again!” MC chirped, but their cheery demeanour faltered as thoughts of the rest of their family entered their mind.
Belphie opened his mouth to say something, then closed it. His eyes narrowed as he stared blankly ahead for a few moments. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as his now analytical gaze moved to MC. “You miss them.”
The comment wasn’t framed as a question, more a statement with the slightest tinge of disbelief. MC looked up at him and nodded. “Of course I miss the others. The reason I got you out of the attic was so we could all be together. I didn’t want the reunion to be like… like this…”
A smirk made its way onto Belphie’s face as he held out his arms. “Does someone need a hug? It sounds like you need a hug.”
The teasing tone almost immediately made MC roll their eyes, but they stopped themselves. They really did need a hug… they rushed forward and wrapped their arms around their uncle, the soft cardigan cushioning their face. Belphie slowly patted MC’s back, his hands slowly rising until one rested right between their shoulder blades, he then stiffened. MC felt him suddenly suck in a breath of air, but his arms remained wrapped around MC.
“Belphie..?” The half demon asked again, shifting their head to look up at him. He was staring straight ahead, almost like he didn’t want to even look at them.
“You…” Belphie whispered. “You care about them… don’t you..?”
MC felt the hand resting between their shoulder blades tense ever so slightly as it rose to the back of their neck.
“Of course I do, you guys are my family.”
Belphie stood completely frozen, MC slowly began to unwrap their arms from the hug, but Belphie remained rooted in place, and the hand on the back of their neck prevented them from fully leaving.
“And they…” Belphie gulped. “They really care about you…”
The two stood completely frozen in silence for God knows how long before Belphie let out a shuddering breath and practically collapsed into MC, the hand that was formerly against their neck was now cradling their head as he gave MC a hug so tight and suffocating that MC was worried their back might break.
“I’m sorry MC… damn it I’m so sorry…” Belphie whispered, pain and regret lacing every single word while MC could only knit their eyebrows in confusion and gently pat him on the back.
“I-it’s not your fault, Belphie, everything will be fine, okay?”
MC felt Belphie shake his head as he released them from the hug, his expression was a crude mixture of glassy and downright horrified.
“I don’t know about that, kiddo.” He rasped, he slowly reached a hand out and ruffled MC’s hair, before giving them a half-smile. “But thanks anyway.”
That odd interaction lingered in the back of MC’s mind as the day progressed. The complete radio-silence from the HOL had been the front runner in MC’s growing list of worries. Why hadn’t anyone tried to call them? Or go after them?
Luke being the sweet friend he was, invited MC to bake with him. The delicious smell of freshly made chocolate chip cookies didn’t exactly soothe MC’s anxieties, in fact, they only worsened when the sound of shouting made its way into the kitchen.
“What’s going on up there?” MC said as they stared up at the ceiling.
“Maybe it’s-”
The hairs on the back of MC’s neck stood straight up as a massive magical shockwave slammed into the two. This wasn’t any ordinary magic, it was ancient, and much more powerful than anything MC had ever felt before. For the first time in their life the little voice in the back of their head wasn’t screaming at them to fight and prove their superiority, it was begging them to surrender. To run and hide and pray to whatever would listen that whoever set off that magic wouldn’t find them.
Thousands of years worth of demonic instincts went ignored as MC rushed out of the kitchen to go see where and what the source of the magic was. Their blood ran cold when they reached the top of the staircase and saw exactly who was standing there.
He had clearly just shifted out of his demon form a second prior, the golden glow in his eyes had just begun to dull when his gaze landed on MC.
“L-lord Diavolo…” MC stood completely straight and still, they did their best to suppress the shudders that wracked their spine while they were in the presence of the Crown Prince of the Devildom. The very idea of addressing the demon that stood before them with any kind of disrespect or even camaraderie was completely absent from their head.
Diavolo’s gaze softened ever so slightly, but that provided no comfort to MC as every limb in their body seized up.
“MC,” He nodded in greeting. “I’m glad you’re well.”
Feeling slowly began to trickle back into MC’s arms, but they didn’t dare move from their spot. “What are… um… what happened?”
“Well,” Diavolo began. “Belphegor being out of the attic is the main reason I’m here.”
“Y-you knew about that?” MC sputtered.
“Yes, and after someone let Belphegor out of the attic I needed to make sure he didn’t do any damage.”
“Damage..?” MC mumbled. “What do you mean damage?”
Diavolo sighed and took a few steps closer to MC. “I take it you know Belphegor opposed the exchange program, right?”
MC nodded.
“Do you know why?”
MC hesitated, then shook their head. “No. No one told me.”
Diavolo looked away from MC, his forehead creased in thought before he eventually shook his head. “You’ve done a lot for your family, MC, you took on a burden no one asked you to take, and that’s very commendable. But it’s time you let the adults handle things, alright?”
“Alright?!” Any lingering traces of fear completely vanished as MC clenched their fists and stared down Diavolo. “This isn’t fair! Belphie hasn’t done anything wrong!”
“While free, Belphegor poses a threat to more than just the exchange program.” The shift in tone from calm to stern made any retort MC could possibly muster die in their throat. Diavolo smoothly moved past them as he began his descent down the staircase.
He turned to look at them once again, and his voice softened. “One day I hope you’ll understand my reasoning and be able to forgive me, MC.”
After Diavolo left, MC sprinted into Luke’s room where Belphie and Beel were supposed to be, only to find Beel floating midair. He was posed in a way like he was lunging for something, his eyes flashed when he saw MC and he suddenly dropped straight to the ground.
“Diavolo took Belphie.” He rumbled.
“Yeah, I figured.” MC muttered as they helped up Beel. “Listen, we need to do something and I have an idea.”
—————
MC bolted through the hallways of the Demon Lord’s Castle, the memories from the retreat serving them well as they made it to the corridor where the door to Barbatos’ room was.
Beel was doing his part, he gathered his brothers and he was in the main hall distracting Barbatos and Diavolo by pleading their brother’s case. Not that any of them knew it was a distraction. MC’s plan wasn’t their best work, but it was all they had.
They twisted the doorknob and the door opened, revealing the creepy room MC remembered. Hundreds of doors lined the seemingly never ending walls of the room. Staircases twisted and winded around, leading to yet even more hallways. How was MC supposed to find the door they were looking for in there..?
MC shut the door behind them as they walked closer into the room and began to inspect the first sets of doors. Many of them were similar in features, but some had more… distressing things added on.
One of the doors was being held shut by dozens of heavy glowing chains, there was no padlock in sight, but the chains themselves seemed to be at least somewhat alive as they wrapped themselves protectively around the door. From the sudden feeling of intense dread and terror that gripped MC, they decided it would be best to steer clear from doors like that.
The hallways warped and shifted around MC as they continued to search the room for their door. They needed a door to at least a few hours before Belphegor somehow escaped from the attic.
“Down here?”
“This one.”
“Oh no… what have I gotten myself into..?”
Unfamiliar and unseen voices echoed down the never ending hallway, closely followed by the sounds of multiple doors opening and shutting. There were others somewhere in the room…
MC’s listening was brought to an abrupt halt when they passed by a seemingly normal looking door, but something about it yanked at their mind. This was the one. They just knew it. This was it. They were going to fix this. Fix all of it.
They opened the door and stepped in.

________
Rafe double, triple-checked their plane tickets when they went back home from Rome. They’d bought them separately but somehow he was convinced he’d screwed it up again - when he reached for his phone a fourth time on the train to the airport, Sophie reached over and took it with a shake of her head.
After making it through security and buying two breakfast sandwiches for them, Rafe tucked his backpack under her feet. “Can you watch this for a second?”
“Yeah, where are you going?” Sophie asked curiously.
“I’ll be right back.” He answered vaguely, kissing her forehead. When he returned, he had an entire bag full of Italian snacks and candies, all indecipherable except for a small bag of dark chocolate M&Ms that he tossed at Sophie. Her face lit up as she caught it and realized. “Oh my god, I missed these.”
He grinned and slid into the seat next to her, dumping the snacks into his backpack. “I know you did. I figured we could try these on the plane, for some entertainment.”
“I’m not gonna be able to sleep.” She tore open the packet and poured some into her hand before offering it to him.
He accepted a few, but not too much more. “Good, you said we weren’t supposed to sleep. We’ll be all jetlagged.”
“But I’m tired.” She whined, dropping her head to his shoulder.
Rafe pressed a kiss to the top of her head, lowering his voice. “Maybe you shouldn’t have convinced me to sleep with you last night then. Until 3am.”
She blushed and shot him an indignant glare. “You started it in the shower.”
“You dropped to your knees in the shower first.” He smirked. “This is your fault.”
“Nothing is ever my fault.” She declared. “You’re just too hot, that’s all.”
“Uh huh.” The airport called for boarding over the speakers and he hauled her up, pulling out their passports and walked with her to the line. He paused when she moved forward. “Wait, Sophie, aren’t we sitting together?”
“No, I’m 23A.”
“And I’m 23B - wait, no, shit, I’m not.” He frowned and glanced down at his ticket. “I’ll fix this.”
“Rafe, you don’t have to -”
Her argument fell on deaf ears as he went forward, glancing at people’s tickets. She held back a smile as he put on his best southern drawl and his most charming grin as he talked with the woman in 23B, convincing her eventually - with twenty dollars - to trade seats once they were on the plane. Once they boarded, he gave her a smug smile as he sat next to her, putting up the arm rest so she could lean into him.
“How much did you bribe her with?”
“Bribe? I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ve never bribed anyone in my life.”
_____
The entire ride home, he didn’t sleep at all. Sophie fell asleep on him within minutes, curled into him comfortably, and he didn’t dare move and wake her up. When they made it back to Columbus and James and Colin picked them up - with a ‘welcome back from federal prison’ sign. Sophie just grinned and greeted them both with a big hug, giggling when James kissed her cheek and Rafe socked him in the arm. The whole drive back, she chattered excitedly, filling the boys in on all her adventures while Rafe barely stayed awake, his head slumped onto her shoulder.
They went straight to Rafe’s senior house to relax and she gave herself a tour right away, impressed by the clean house and lack of lewd decor. (It was going up next week, anyways.)
She wasn’t tired at all as she strolled into his room, making a big deal of the newly painted walls and a few plants scattered around on shelves. “Check it out! This looks so good, Rafe!”
He yawned - again - and flopped onto his bed. “Shh.”
“Didn’t you sleep?” She did the same, sprawling out on his bed. “I can’t believe you have a king-sized bed, I’m never staying at my place.”
“No. Couldn’t sleep.” He stretched his neck uncomfortably, groaning. She nudged him over, tugging at the hem of his shirt, and he shook his head. “Nooo. I’m too tired for sex.”
She giggled and tugged again. “It’s not that. Sit up, I’ll rub your back.”
He sat up just enough to tug his shirt over his head and flopped back down to the mattress on his stomach. She crawled onto him and straddled him to massage his shoulders, digging her thumbs into the base of his neck. He groaned, twisting a little. “Lotion. In my nightstand drawer.”
“Ew, is that for -”
“My hands get dry, dummy, get your head out of the gutter.”
She flicked his neck. “Be nice or I’ll leave you alone.”
“No, baby, stay.” He whined, flexing his back a little as she stretched. She smiled to herself, appreciating his muscles and traced a finger down his spine. “Okay. I’ll stay.”
“Watch your hands.”
“I’m just touching your back.” She dug in a little harder into his shoulders, grinning when he groaned in appreciation.
“Yeah, and I know how touchy you can get.” He quipped, closing his eyes and letting her continue the massage. “Handsy.”
She teased his fingertips under the waistband of his shorts. “You’re gonna have to shower anyways.”
It took about two seconds for him to change his mind. “Hmm….fine. But I’m not gonna do any work if you start something.” He yawned. “And you’re not done on my back.”
She rolled her eyes and got back to work, pleased by his little satisfied noises. She was just about to roll him back over and tug down his shorts when James slammed his palm on the door. “Shut the fuck up, Rafe, we don’t want to hear you jacking off!”
“Jesus Christ, James, come in!” Rafe yelled back with annoyance lacing his tone. James came in to see their (mainly) innocent position. “Oh. It sounded like you were doing something else. Hi Sophie, I didn’t know you were still here.”
She giggled, crawling off of Rafe. “Hey. We weren’t -”
“Yeah, I can see that. My bad.” He went to leave and paused, sticking his head back in the door. “You should know, though, my room’s right below his. And we all share that bathroom, so I’d prefer things to be cleaned. Regularly.”
“Get out, James.” Rafe pointed with a glare. James nodded with a grin and left, the door clicking shut behind him. Sophie gave him an apologetic smile. “He’s really just below us?”
“Yeah. I don’t fucking care, I told him I’d buy him a white noise machine. C’mere.” He flipped over and pulled her up to his hips, groaning obnoxiously loud when his hard cock brushed against her core.
She giggled, rocking back and forth on him. “Now you’re just being annoying.”
“Good. He’s been worse, bringing home a different girl every weekend for a straight month before I left. Colin says he’s going through his hoe phase.” He yawned, tugging at her shirt. “You have about ten minutes to fuck me before I pass out in this bed.”
Sophie rolled her eyes, pulling off her shirt. “That’s it? Sure it’s worth it?”
“Angel, please.” He nearly begged, pulling her down to kiss her desperately, grinding his hips against hers.
“Okay, okay, you’re so needy.” She teased. “Let me just take care of you.”
“No, I want -” He started, cutting himself off when she pulled out his hard cock from his shorts and stroked down his length, making him hiss. “Okay. That’s fine.”
She rolled her eyes and ducked down to take him into her mouth, not giving any warning. He nearly groaned again until she reached up and slapped her free hand over his mouth. “Shh. Stay quiet or I’ll stop.”
He let his head fall back so she couldn’t see him and fisted the sheets, bucking up into her mouth. “So good. So fucking good, baby.” He mumbled against her hand, just loud enough that Sophie could hardly hear.
It didn’t take long for him to come, especially with the way she sucked on him and twisted her wrist at the same time. When he did, her hand still clapped against his mouth, he let out a satisfied sigh and grinned down at her. “You’re incredible.”
She removed her hand and gave him a quick kiss. “You’re too easy. I think that was four minutes.”
“Can’t help it. You were all touchy, you know what that does to me.” He tried pulling her close, all sleepy, and she gently swatted her hands away.
“No, baby. I gotta go home and shower, then unpack. And I want to get dinner with Allie and Jules.”
He frowned. “What about me?”
“I’ve been with you nonstop for three whole weeks.” She grinned and gave him another short kiss. “You’ll be okay. We’re gonna have to go back to sleeping apart sometimes.”
“Noooo.” He grumbled, reaching for her as she stood and tugged her shoes back on.
“Welcome back to reality, Cameron.”
“But you - you need your turn -” He tried arguing helplessly and she just grinned.
“I own a vibrator, remember?”
“Fuck. That thing.”
“Don’t worry.” She leaned against the wall with a smirk, arms crossed. “I’ll let you borrow it sometime. Can you drive me?”
Rafe sighed but ambled out of bed, tugging his shorts back up and pulling his shirt on. “This is not how I expected the night to go.”
“We both know you’re gonna pass out in bed the second you get back. Hopefully after a shower.”
“Yeah, probably.” He yawned, stretching. “If I’m not texting you by one in the afternoon tomorrow please check on me.”
She nodded seriously and shook his hand, making him laugh. “You have a deal. Don’t forget you have to pack though, we’re going home in two days.”
“We are home…?”
“Home home. Remember? We booked the flights yesterday in Rome?”
He nodded in recognition, casting a glance at his stuffed suitcase on the ground. “Right. Remind me why I couldn’t just ask for the plane?”
She scowled before she could catch herself. “I thought you didn’t want to see your dad when you were home.”
“Touché.” Rafe noticed her scowl but didn’t mention it, not having the energy to persist. He grabbed his keys and took her hand, bringing her out to the car. “C’mon, my chariot awaits.”
____
The two of them spent their two days before going home very differently - Rafe slept nearly the entire time, woke up at night to go get tacos with the boys, then went back to bed. Sophie decorated her entire room within four hours, set up her senior architecture studio, and had meetings with a professor, an advisor, and the co-president of the alumni mentorship program. (Rafe was exhausted just from seeing her texts about her schedule.)
The girls dropped them off at the airport only forty five minutes before their flight, despite Rafe’s protests that it wasn’t nearly enough time and Sophie’s argument that she’d made a flight with less time on a tiny airline in Spain. Their flight was inconvenient, as always - they had to fly into Virginia and take a 2.5 hour ferry to get back home. When they finally arrived, greeted by the familiar summer humidity and the smell of the sea, her brother picked them up to bring them to Sophie’s.
“Soph!” He yelled out the window from the pickup line. Rafe noticed immediately and straightened up, grabbing her bag as well as his to walk to the car.
She beamed, waving as they came closer, and slid into the front seat while Rafe put their suitcases in the back. “Carter! Hi! I thought you were moving this weekend?”
“I pushed it back a couple weeks, wanted to see you before I left. How was Barcelona?” He glanced back and nodded at Rafe briefly in the backseat. “Rafe.”
“Hey. Thanks for picking us up.” Rafe smiled politely, nearly crammed into the backseat because of how far back Sophie’s seat was. He assumed Carter had moved it before he came to pick them up, but didn’t dare say a word.
“Yeah, no problem.” The rest of the ride was just the two siblings talking, mainly Sophie telling him about her study abroad and the trips she’d taken with Rafe. Carter kept his eye on Rafe in the backseat at a few parties of her story, especially when she stuttered over talking about swimming in Nice and Rafe’s birthday. (Rafe very pointedly looked out the window to avoid his eyes.)
They were greeted by Sophie’s dad when Carter pulled the car up in the driveway. He wrapped Sophie in a tight, smothering hug when she jumped out of the car, the two of them sharing matching grins. “Hey, Sophie girl.”
“Hi Dad.” She mumbled against his shirt, hugging him tight. “Missed you.”
“Missed you too.” He finally let her go and welcomed Rafe in for a hug too, ignoring his handshake. “Nice to see you too, kiddo.”
“You too, Mr. Flint.” He beamed and excused himself from the hug quickly to get both his and Sophie’s suitcases, ever the gentleman in his presence. “Thank you so much for letting me stay here, I really appreciate it.”
Her dad nodded with a smile, taking Sophie’s bag from him. “Of course. Come on, I’ll show you to your spot in the guest room. Soph, your mom’s out running errands, I thought we could all head out to the course for a round if you’re not too tired?”
“Sure, that sounds fine. Dad, did you forward that study I emailed you about using filtered stormwater for the course to the groundskeeper? So it’s more eco-friendly?” Sophie asked over her shoulder, leading the way inside and upstairs.
Jeff sent Rafe a knowing smile behind her back, shaking his head. Ever since Sophie really got into eco conservation in high school, she’d been pushing more and more for the entire family to make small changes. Her efforts got more and more involved as she learned more in college, and she’d had meetings with the groundskeeper at the country club no less than five times - he listened politely as a favor to her dad, but that was all. “I sent it, yes. I’m not sure how well it was received.”
“Oh, well, I can send you some more resources. It’s good to at least provide the options, you know?” She turned back and took her bag into her room, automatically going for Rafe’s as well.
Rafe smiled, subtly pulling it away and tried to redirect her dad’s attention. “Um, which one’s the guest room?”
“Other end of the hallway, just opposite Carter’s room.” Jeff gave him a pointed look and he nodded quickly. “Great, thank you.”
“Dad, you’re not seriously making him stay in there.” Sophie argued, giving her dad a pleading look.
“No, it’s fine! I’m sure it’s perfect, I’ll go make myself at home.” Rafe quickly excused himself, heading down the hall and just barely stayed in earshot of the two.
Her dad regarded her carefully. “Sophie, you can’t really expect me to believe you two had been in separate dorms that entire trip like you’ve been telling your mother, can you?”
She grew embarrassed, leaning against her doorway. “Dad...”
“I’m not oblivious, honey, I just hope you’re being safe -”
“Dad! Please. I don’t want to talk about this with you. Ever.” She told him with wide eyes and red cheeks, backing into her room slowly.
“Alright, just. Be careful. Both of you.” He warned her, patting her shoulder before heading back down the stairs, calling out loudly over his shoulder. “Be ready in fifteen!”
She just groaned and flopped back onto her bed.
“Ready, kids?” Jeff called up the stairs, exactly fifteen minutes later. Sophie was in the guest room with Rafe, sporting a golf tank from high school and a matching skort. The tank was a little tight across the chest and she’d flaunted into his room with it unbuttoned to completely show off her boobs, showing him exactly what was underneath.
“Yes sir!” Rafe called back, a little higher pitched than normal, and shoved Sophie’s shoulder lightly. “Button that up,” he hissed.
“You’re a prude.” She rolled her eyes, buttoning it back up to her neck but adjusted her skort to sit a little higher. (Nothing too inappropriate, but it was just enough to drive Rafe crazy.)
“I’m not - we are going golfing with your father, baby, and you look like several dreams I’ve had in high school. Do not pull something. Fix your skirt.”
She perked up, taking a step closer. “You dreamed about me in high school? What kind of dreams?”
“No. We’re not doing this.” He told her, but she didn’t miss the way he reached in his pocket and grimaced for a moment. “Behave.”
She grinned and practically skipped downstairs, with Rafe following close behind. “We’re ready! Dad, can we just play 9 today? I wanted to go hang out on the beach with Rafe later.”
“Our reservation’s for the full 18. What, you don’t want to play a full round with your old man?” Her dad teased, but she could hear the tiny tone of hurt underneath.
“We can go to the beach another time, the full 18’s perfect.” Rafe interjected. “I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep up with you though, Mr. Flint, I haven’t really played since last year.”
“Oh, you’ll be fine, I saw your form earlier this summer.” Her dad replied cheerfully, not noticing as Sophie mouthed “suck up” to Rafe behind his back.
They all drove to the course and split into carts, her dad in one and Rafe and Sophie in the other. As they rode to the second hole, Sophie kicked her feet up on the dash, ignoring the golf etiquette standard. “Hey, Rafe.”
He instantly reached over and shoved her feet off, casting a glance toward her dad to make sure he didn’t see. “Yes ma’am.”
“You think we could pull off a quickie tonight?”
He fixed her with a glare, unamused. “Sophie. Do not.”
She just smirked as she skipped off the cart to the hole, club in hand. She didn’t quit the entire rest of the game, murmuring little dirty things into his ear on the cart or pretending like she was going to flash him, bursting into giggles as he nearly wrecked the cart trying to lunge across the seat to keep her shirt down. Rafe was entirely distracted the whole game, trying to stay as civil as possible around her dad while also keeping Sophie in check.
Her competitive streak kicked in around the sixth hole, when she was losing by just enough. Jeff kept pointing out little imperfections in her form - her arms were bent too far, her hips didn’t rotate enough, her head wasn’t down for long enough - and Rafe winced nearly every time. Sophie took it all in stride though, and he had to remind himself that criticism from a parent was fine when it was paired with constant encouragement after she improved.
Her dad was a little more sensitive to how Rafe responded to criticism, starting everything with a compliment first and then phrasing the critique as a suggestion. At the end of the game - despite Rafe barely losing to Sophie, Jeff coming in first - he nudged Rafe and gave him an encouraging grin. “You’re looking good, kid. Might beat this one if she wasn’t so annoying.”
“Dad!” Sophie exclaimed. “I didn’t do a thing -”
“I raised you better than to whistle on the golf course, Soph.” Her dad pointed out as he poked her in the leg with his club. “Breaking every single etiquette rule out there.”
“It’s a simple distraction technique.” She protested with a sheepish grin. She had whistled at Rafe when he bent over to place his ball on the tee - twice - and thought her dad hadn’t noticed either time.
“If you’re using distraction to win the game, maybe you aren’t good enough.” Her dad retorted, laughing as Rafe’s eyebrows shot up at the same time as Sophie’s. “Go drive the carts back, I’ll meet you two at the car.” As Sophie grinned and started toward her dad’s cart, he called after her again. “No racing! Not again!”
She just ignored him and Jeff turned to Rafe with an exasperated grin. “I’m not sure how you kept up with her for that long in Europe.”
“I’m not entirely sure either, sir.” Rafe told him with a smile.
____
When they came back to the house, all a little sweaty, her mom had a tray of lemonade and snacks set out for all of them. “Mrs. Flint, hi. Thank you for this.” Rafe thanked her immediately, wiping the sweat off his brow.
“Rafe, it’s good to see you, thank you for keeping an eye on my child the past few weeks.” Her mom greeted with a teasing grin. “Sophie, Angie is coming over with the twins any second now, can you two watch them for a couple hours?”
Sophie scowled, flopping back into her chair and only straightened up instinctively when her mom tapped her shoulders. “Rafe and I were going to -”
“No, that’s fine, we don’t have plans.” Rafe cut her off quickly, nudging Sophie’s foot with his. “Who’s Angie?”
“Angie’s my older cousin, she just had her babies around February.” Sophie informed him. “They’re kind of cute, I guess.”
“They’re very cute, and it’s just so Angie and your aunt and I can go shopping for more baby clothes. You haven’t met them yet, you should be excited to see them.” Her mom chastised with a shake of her head. “You’ll have your own soon enough, so this’ll be a learning experience.”
Sophie nearly spat out her lemonade, affronted. “Mom!”
“Don’t be dramatic, Sophie.” She tutted and went back inside.
Sophie gaped after her, shaking her head. “Ignore her. Go shower, I’ll shower when you’re done.”
He wasn’t entirely sure what to make of that exchange, always a little confused by her mom’s well-intentioned insults. “I thought the kids were coming…?”
“Yeah, I can handle them and then we’ll swap.” She grinned, lowering her voice. “Or we could shower together and it’ll be faster.”
Rafe practically scrambled out of his chair to go shower, pointing accusingly at her. “Stop that.”
“Stop what.”
“You know - that.” He gestured wildly at the way she’d leaned forward, undone a button and bit her bottom lip. “You’re teasing. Just wait until we’re back in Ohio, please.”
She just smirked and leaned forward to kick his ass lightly. “Go.”
____
When she came back down after her slightly-too-long shower with damp hair, she stopped in her tracks at the base of the stairs. Rafe had one of the babies napping in the play crib and the other asleep on his chest, tiny fingers curled around his pinky as he carefully rubbed her back. Sophie took a quick photo before he could notice and approached quietly, combing her fingers through his hair affectionately.
He lifted his head to smile at her, whispering. “She fell asleep like this, isn’t she sweet? I think this one is baby Ava.”
She laughed quietly, shaking her head. “That’s Amelia. Ava’s in the crib, she has more hair.”
“Oh. Look at her tiny fingers, Sophie.” He murmured, so proud that he was able to get them to stay asleep. When Angie had arrived, she’d brought in both car seats and set up the crib, then handed off both still-sleeping babies to him with only a short introduction. She’d nestled Amelia on his chest, telling him she slept better that way, and thanked him profusely before leaving with Sophie’s mom.
“Babies are so weird.” Sophie replied, a little too loud. “At least they’re starting to get cute.”
He shushed her immediately with a glare. “They’re not weird.”
“How are you so good at this?” She cocked her head, considering picking up Ava from the crib but not trusting her skills.
“Dunno. I like kids.” He traced small circles on Amelia’s back, quietly shushing her when she cooed a little. After a few moments, he glanced up at Sophie with a smile. “How many do you want?”
“I’m not giving you a baby any time soon.” She told him pointedly, leaning into him a little. “But I guess if you really want, I could start calling you daddy…”
He shuddered, his whole face scrunching up into a scowl. “I hope that’s not a kink of yours because I’m really not sure I could entertain it.”
She giggled, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek. “I’m just kidding. Um, I don’t know that I’ve thought about it. I’ve only ever thought as far as my job.”
“Wait, really? Never?”
She shrugged. “Nah. I liked having Carter growing up though. You’ve thought about it?”
He nodded confidently. “Yeah. Two or three’s perfect, I think. Not too much of an age gap in between. A good mix of girls and boys. I want to...yeah.”
Sophie furrowed her brow, turning to face him. “You want what?”
“I want to be a good dad. To do it right.” He told her, a little shy. “I’m not sure I could, but -”
“You will.” She interrupted him, firmly. “I know you will.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I do, baby. You’re going to love our kids so well -”
“Our kids?” He interjected with a small grin, making her blush as a matching blush crept up on his cheeks.
“Sorry, did you plan on having kids with someone else?” She raised her eyebrows.
“No. ‘Course not. Just didn’t know you planned on having them with me.” His grin grew to split across his cheeks, beaming.
She shook her head, feeling herself grow bright red. “Well, yeah. Later, but yeah. You’re it for me, Rafe.” She told him, her voice going a little soft.
He nodded, reaching out to grab her hand and kiss the back of it, the most movement he could make without disturbing the baby. “Good. My favorite.”
“My favorite.” She echoed softly, leaning back into him. As the garage door opened and both babies startled, Ava starting to wail, she scowled and stood to pick her up, holding her out at arm’s length as she began to scream. Amelia began to wake but stayed quiet, her little fist tightening around Rafe’s finger.
“Actually hold her, Soph.” He told her with a skeptical glance at the way she was clearly uncomfortable around the baby. She moved her grip to be able to rock the baby but Ava kept screaming, sensing Sophie’s lack of experience.
Just as Sophie was about to place her hand over Ava’s mouth, Angie came in with an exasperated sigh. “Oh, baby, it’s okay, did the garage wake you?” She cooed, immediately soothing her daughter.
Sophie’s mom followed, smiling at the sight of Rafe completely comfortable with Amelia quietly on his chest still. “Look at that, you’ve got the natural instinct.”
“Oh my god, can I take you home with me? Sophie, I’m stealing your boyfriend.” Angie joked, winking at Rafe.
He laughed, getting up carefully so he didn’t shift Amelia too much and carefully placed her back into the crib. “I wouldn’t mind a little babysitting, but I’ve got to go back to Ohio for our senior year at the end of the weekend.”
“Right, of course.” Angie nodded, giving him a grateful smile.
Sophie rolled her eyes at Rafe behind Angie’s back. “Thanks for letting us watch them for a bit, Ang, they’re adorable, but we kind of have plans…”
“But you'll be back after dinner?” Her mom asked. Sophie resisted a scowl while Rafe just gave her an eager smile. “We’ll be back for dinner, no worries.”
“Okay, see you later!” Sophie practically dragged him upstairs, pulling him into her room and shutting the door before he could protest. He immediately reached for the doorknob, but she grabbed his hand and leaned up to kiss him, hard.
Rafe kissed her back for a few moments before he was reminded where he was and pulled back quickly. “Soph, we can’t.”
“I just want to kiss you.” She argued with a pleading tone, pouting a little.
“I thought we were leaving? Going to the beach?” He dodged another attempted kiss from her, easily slipping out from where she had him pinned against the door and stepped away from her.
“Right. I have to change.” She pulled off her shirt and bralette in one fell swoop, then kicked off her shorts too before he could blink.
He gaped for a moment when he realized she was completely naked, his voice lowering a little. “Baby.”
“Yeah?” She strolled over to her dresser, pretending to rifle through her drawer of old swimsuits, and settled on a hot pink string bikini. She’d bought it in high school and kept it in her car to change into for pool parties, because if her mom ever caught her in it she was sure she’d be transferred to a Catholic boarding school immediately. She knew for a fact Rafe had seen it before, even complimented her in it back in high school, and was hoping he’d recognize it.
He did.
Right away.
“Soph, not - not that one.” He implored, voice cracking. He could feel his throat going dry as he fought every urge in his body telling him to go over to her and have his way with her right that instant, trying to remind himself that her parents were literally right downstairs.
She held back a grin as she shimmied into the bikini, tying it up behind her neck. “What’s wrong with this one?”
“I’m getting you back for this. All this teasing today. I swear. I - I -” He couldn’t even come up with a decent half-hearted threat as she strode closer, letting her hair down from her claw clip, and a big whiff of her shampoo overloaded his senses.
“You’ll what.”
“You’re going to regret this.” He told her, and she swore she could hear the way his voice was shaking.
“What are you gonna do? Punish me? Tie me up?” She teased, and the hint of a laugh in her voice was enough to break his spell.
“Sophie, please. No more. I’ll do whatever you want the second we’re back in Ohio, but I am really trying to make a good impression on your family.” He pleaded, eyes trained intensely on hers - though she was pretty sure it was just so he wouldn’t be able to look down at her tits.
“Okay, okay.” She grabbed her shirt from the bed and pulled it on over the swimsuit, her shorts following. “You don’t have to try so hard though, you know?”
“I know, I just. I want to do this right.” He relaxed a little once she got dressed, but was still mainly tense. “Can I, uh, use your bathroom?”
Sophie sat back on the bed, sending him a confused glance. “No one uses the one out in the hall by the guest room, just use that.”
“That one doesn’t have a shower.”
“You just showered - oh.” She realized as soon as Rafe’s slightly pained expression set in and she noticed the bulge in his shorts. Sophie grinned, satisfied. “I could take care of that faster, y’know.”
“I think I’d still be hard after.” He confessed with a shake of his head, quickly letting himself into the bathroom and ignoring her giggles as he locked the door.
____
They were only out at the beach for a couple hours before they had to return home, but it was like she could see the tension literally unraveling from Rafe’s body when he wasn’t under the pressure of impressing her parents. They laid out their towels with a little overlap and she had her head on Rafe’s arm as they sprawled out on the beach, uninterrupted. When his phone chimed, he nudged her a little. “Can you grab that?”
Sophie sat up to get his phone from her bag at their feet. “Your dad texted.”
“What does it say?”
“I don’t know your password.”
“You did the Face ID thing for it in France, remember?” He didn’t move a muscle, halfway to falling asleep out in the sun.
She cocked her head, surprised when the phone unlocked. “I thought you would have taken it off, thought it was just for traveling.”
“Nope. I have nothing to hide.” He nudged his sunglasses down and squinted up at her. “What does it say?”
“Oh, right.” She opened his text, frowning a little. “Um, he said he saw you leaving the country club the other day and wants you over for lunch tomorrow.”
“Fuck.” He muttered, sitting up with a sigh and took the phone from her to read over the text to see if there were any undertones of him being in trouble. “Okay. You’ll come, right?”
“What - me? I don’t know if that’s really necessary -”
“I’ve been with your family all weekend.”
She frowned more, tucking her knees up to her chest. “I thought you wanted to stay with my family.”
“I do, I do!” He backtracked quickly, reaching out and skimming his hand over her arm. “But I want you to come with me.”
“Rafe…” She started, hesitant, but gave in once she saw his pleading look. “Alright. I’ll go, but I doubt he’ll want me there.”
“He’ll be fine.” Rafe shot off a quick reply to his dad, satisfied when Ward liked the message in response. “It’ll be fine. It’s just lunch.”
“Mmhmm.” She didn’t bring up how he sounded like he was reassuring himself more than anything. She stood, offering her hand. “Come on, swim with me.”
He kissed the back of it before taking it and hauling himself up. “I love you. You know that?”
“I know, baby. I always know.”
_____
Later that night, Sophie sat across from her dad as they got dinner ready. She’d informed him she and Rafe were going to Ward’s house tomorrow for lunch and her dad had merely replied with a noncommittal hum, asked her how she felt, and nodded again when she replied with a wary shrug.
“I never liked the idea of you dating.” Jeff told her as he sliced up watermelon for their dinner that night. Rafe paused around the corner, sent to the garage to grab charcoal for the grill, not wanting to interrupt.
“Dad.” She whined a little, embarrassed, but didn’t move from her spot across the kitchen counter.
“I didn’t, you’re my little girl. But I like Rafe, a lot. He’s a good kid, Sophie, keep him around.”
“I’m planning on it.” She murmured.
“You love him?” Jeff inquired, pausing his cutting of the watermelon for a moment. She merely nodded to respond with a blush and a smile and Rafe nearly walked out then just so he could see the look on her face, desperately craving the confirmation.
“He makes me...I just…” Sophie tripped over her words a little, tugging at the loose threads on her jean shorts. “I feel safe with him. With Luke, or Peter, you know, I -”
“I try not to remember them.” Her dad quipped with a smile, making her roll her eyes. “Go on.”
“Just, with them I didn’t really see much past what we had. But with Rafe, it’s different. Like, I know he’ll stick by my side. For...a while.” She decided, giving her dad a shy but eager smile.
“Well, when that time comes, I’ll be happy to have him in the family.” Jeff told her decisively.
“Me too.” She murmured, then hopped up from her chair. “I’m gonna go find him, he’s probably still rooting around the garage for the charcoal.”
Rafe carefully stepped back a few steps, just enough to quickly shut the door to the garage loudly and stroll in with a sense of purpose like he hadn’t just overheard the whole conversation. “Found it! Sorry, took me a second.”
“I thought you got lost.” She beamed at him, seeming to regard him in a different light for a moment.
He stood taller under her adoring gaze, smiling back. “Nope. Where do you want this, Mr. Flint?”
“Backyard’s fine. Know how to work the grill, Rafe?” Jeff set down the knife and pushed the watermelon toward Sophie so she could take over.
“Uh, not sure, I’ve only ever used electric.”
“C’mon then, let me show you how it’s done.” He clapped a hand on Rafe’s shoulder as he passed to lead the way out to the backyard.
____
Sophie was hardly able to sleep all night, so she crept into Rafe’s room around 1am, careful to only open the door just enough so it wouldn’t creak. “Rafe?”
He was awake too, just barely, and rolled over to greet her, whispering. “Hey. Why are you still up?”
“Can’t sleep.” She mumbled and crawled into his bed without invitation, laying on top of him and placed her head over his heart. He hesitated for a moment but eventually wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. “Me either.”
“Are you nervous?” She asked.
“For lunch? A little, yeah. But I don’t sleep well without you anyways.” He confessed, playing with the ends of her hair.
“That’s no good.” She traced little patterns on his chest. “Your dad hates me. Right?”
“I don’t think so.” He pressed a kiss to the crown of her head, not bothering to add that he wasn’t sure she was even enough on his radar for Ward to consider hating her. “You need to sleep, sweet girl.”
“So do you.”
“You’re not supposed to be in here.”
She raised her arm with her watch aimlessly. “I set an alarm for six. I’ll go back to my room then.”
“Okay. Sweet dreams, angel.” He kept playing with her hair until he heard her breathing slow and deepen, and only let himself fall asleep an hour after, once he was sure they wouldn’t be caught.
_______
Later that day, after anxiously pacing the house all morning, Sophie was squeezing the life out of his hand as they walked up to his front door. He pressed a kiss to her temple before letting them in. “Soph. It’s okay.”
“Your dad hates me.” She told him with a straight face.
“He - I don’t think that’s true.” He faltered, punching in the code to the front door and toed it open when it unlocked. “This isn’t fun for me either, can you please help me out and not break my hand?”
“Right! Right, sorry.” She let go of him right away, letting him shake out his hand. “Here, let me -” She reached up to fix his hair and he jerked away, startled.
“He says it looks better gelled, don’t -”
“I’m not, I’m just fixing -” She carefully pushed a stray strand back into place and he gave her a grateful smile when he felt it. “Okay. We’re okay?”
“We’re good. Go ahead.” She nodded and followed him in, taking his hand when he reached out for hers.
Ward spotted them first, coming in from the kitchen with two wine glasses in his hands. “Rafe! Do you want wine? Um...Savannah…?”
Rafe’s face fell and his shoulders dropped as he clutched her hand a little tighter. “Her name is Sophie, Dad. I’ve only told you that at least ten times.”
“It’s okay.” She excused quickly with an overly polite smile. “We’ve only met once, at your Christmas party.”
“Right, right, I remember.” Ward nodded and set the glasses down at the table. “I’ll get you both a glass, hold on. Rose!” He called out, going back into the kitchen.
Rafe gave her an apologetic glance and she shook her head quickly. “It’s fine. Doesn’t matter.”
“It does matter.”
“Yes, well, it’s fine. Are Sarah and Wheezie here?”
“I already asked, Sarah’s back at school and Wheezie got out of this to hang out with some friends.” He had texted them the night before for support, but had no luck.
“Okay.” She reached up and stroked her thumb over his cheek, whispering. “Relax your shoulders for me, baby.”
“Right.” He nodded, but stayed tense. Rose returned with Ward a few moments later, with the whole bottle in hand and two empty glasses. “Rafe, you’re here. Sophie, hello, are you still jetlagged from your trip?”
“Um, no.” Sophie replied curtly. “We’ve been back for a few days now.”
“Oh, you just looked a little tired. Maybe it’s the lighting.” Rose gave her a sweet smile and gestured around, although the entire dining room was filled with natural light.
“Maybe.” Sophie forced herself to agree, sitting after Rafe pulled out her chair for her. All their plates were already set out with individual portions, and she noticed there was more salad on her plate than anyone else’s, but didn’t dare say a thing.
“Tell me about your internship, Rafe. You didn’t leave early for the trip, did you?” Ward asked, starting to eat and Sophie took that as an invitation to start as well. When she reached for the wrong fork, Rafe tried to subtly reach out and push the other one toward her.
“No, I finished it then went out to Spain. The internship was good, I learned a lot. I have a job offer from them.”
“You’re not accepting, of course.” Rose replied, then raised her eyebrows at his pause to answer. “Right? Aren’t you coming home after graduation to work with your father?”
“I have a couple options.” Rafe replied vaguely, taking a larger sip of wine than what was considered polite.
To his surprise, Ward nodded in agreement. “You can explore a few things before you come home, it’ll give you more experience for joining the board. A year or so after graduation, that’s fine.”
“You’ll let him swan around instead of doing his job?”
“A couple years won’t hurt anything. He’s in supply chain, Rose, it’s relevant work.”
Rafe had a small smile as he picked at his food with the fork, then lifted his head. “What if I didn’t get a job in supply chain? To start?”
Ward fixed him with a stern gaze. “If this is about your minor, I don’t want to hear it.”
His smile dropped as quickly as he’d found it. “No, yeah, supply chain is smart.”
Rose glanced between the two of them, then cocked her head at Sophie. “What are you studying?”
“I’m in architecture.” Sophie replied, tensing a little.
“Oh. That’s cute. I’ve been looking to hire someone to help decorate our parlor, actually -”
“It’s, um, designing buildings, not interior decorating. It requires a master’s.” Sophie cut her off, with a little more edge to her voice than necessary.
Rose nodded. “Right. What’s the starting salary, around 30k? It’s a good thing you’re with Rafe, you won’t have to sacrifice for a tiny apartment once you graduate.”
Sophie flinched, stabbing her fork into the salad harder than necessary. “It depends on the firm.”
Rafe stayed silent, staring at his wine glass. They all sat there quietly as the clinks of their forks and their glasses echoed in the room for a few moments as they all ate, or pushed around the food on their plates.
“Rafe.”
His head snapped up at Ward. “Yes sir.”
“Are you still wanting the plane and the house for your fall break?”
Sophie didn’t dare look up to show the surprise flash across her face.
“Yes, sir, if that’s alright. It’s just a small group.” Rafe replied, nodding quickly. “I’ll do that remote work like you asked, call into the meetings if you need me to.”
“That’ll work.” Ward nodded. “You haven’t taken Sophie down there, just Brooklyn, right?”
“Mm. Yeah. That was a while ago.” Rafe sighed. “I haven’t dated her in over a year.”
“You’ll love it, Sophie,” Rose smiled at her. “It’s the best, so luxurious. You’re probably not used to it so it’ll be a treat.”
She bit the inside of her cheek, hard. “Right.”
Rafe glanced down at his watch as he briefly squeezed her knee under the table. “Thank you for having us over for lunch, Dad, Rose, but we have to catch our flight tonight and haven’t packed up yet. Sophie’s dad is driving us to the airport.”
“Alright.” Ward rose from his chair at the same time as his son, nodding. “Call me, okay? Check in once in a while?”
“Yeah, Dad, of course.” Rafe relaxed into the hug with his dad, pulling away with a broad smile. “Maybe you could come up for parent’s weekend this year.”
“I’ll check the calendar. Sophie, it was nice to see you again.” Ward walked them both out and she was unbelievably stiff as she shook his hand, her jaw set. When they walked out hand in hand again to her dad’s car, parked at the very end of the drive, she stayed quiet.
Rafe slid into the car with her and gave her a grin, like the weight had been lifted from his shoulders. “That wasn’t bad, right? I expected much worse!”
“Yeah.” She nodded weakly, staring ahead at his house out the window. “Can we go?”
He started the car with a frown, reaching out to place his hand on her thigh but she shifted away. “Sophie. What’s up?”
“Let’s just get home.” She offered a fake smile that he saw through right away, but he didn’t press it.
The rest of the drive was quiet as Rafe turned the radio up and tried to ignore her leg jittering anxiously and how she kept switching her ring from finger to finger, a constant nervous habit of hers. When he pulled into the driveway at her house, he reached out again and stilled her leg. “Sophie.”
“You didn’t say a thing.” She murmured to herself, not looking at him.
“What do you mean?” He frowned and reached out to take her hand.
Sophie pulled back a little, but turned to look at him. “Nothing, it’s fine. I’m glad it went well with your dad.”
“But…”
She leaned forward and gave him a short kiss and a smile to match, shaking her head. “You said it yourself, we have to go pack. Come on.” She got out of the car and didn’t give him a second glance backward as she strode into the house.
Rafe sat there and watched, dumbfounded and unsure of what he’d done.

Chapter 7 - Autumn Coat
It's been a few months since you started to work as a caretaker, nothing grand happened, but the times you left for your break once every 14 days, you always come back to a crying Keigo, and a missing mother.
The last time he wrecked the house, there was glass on the floor, footprints on the ceiling, walls painted with... wine? jelly? blood? You don't know, but it was hell to clean, which of course you made lil birb help too.
By questioning him after cleaning everything and then cleaning him, you discovered that his "mother" gave him coffee, and A LOT of it, and went her merry way to meet with someone.
---
To say that you were pissed was a mistake, you were furious, but the commission didn't let you reprehend her, so you had to teach him to not eat and drink something that his mother gave to him, without knowing what it was, and that if he drank coffee he would stop growing, which made him cry, but you promised a day outside with him, where they would eat out, maybe go to a mall, and he could have anything that he wanted.
It was his first time going out to have fun, instead of just going to the gym, or the doctor appointment, so with the 'okay card' from your boss you took him for a stroll, which is why there is a very excited Keigo jumping on your bed at 6am.
"COME. OOOOON!!! WE STILL HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY AHEAD OF US!" he shouted while jumping up and down on your bed, his wings flapping behind him.
"Hun, what time it is?" you yawned and sat on the bed.
"It's 6AM! On a Monday!!!"
"I wish you would be this easy to wake up every day, it would make my mornings easier" you huff and got up. "Go wash your face, I will get changed and come to help you change yourself."
"I don't need help! I'm a big boy! I can change myself!" he pouted and crossed his arms.
You smiled at him, seeing how much he opened up to you in comparison to the first day, when he would tremble form how scared he was, and how he talked so little. "I know you can, but you need to put warmer clothes than normal, and it would be better if you didn't pick that awful t-shirt again"
"The one that his written 'Daddy's little boy' with the Endevour's face?" he tilted his head a little.
"Exactly, that one! Now go, we will eat breakfast outside today."
"Woo-hoo!" he raised both hands and was about to jump down to the floor when you held him back and fills his face with kisses "Let me go mommy!" he giggles a lot, and you keep doing it until you decide to release him.
"THE FLOOR IS LAVA!!" You shout and jumps up "If you aren't on your bedroom in 15 seconds the world is going to END!" You say dramatically and open's the door to the laundry room "1... 2... 3... aaaaaand... he's gone" as soon as you opened the door and started the countdown he flew off your small home to his room.
After fixing your bed and washing your face, you went to get changed and choose something comfy, some black jeans, a long sleeved red shirt, a black purse and your favorite beige coat that had white fur on it.
You went to his room to get him ready when you were surprised by the scene, him, Keigo, your baby birb, the cute little shit that was getting more confident with each training, that had the most beautiful smile you had ever seen.
On the floor, curled up in a ball, with a few drops of blood on the ground of the floor, and his mother with her hand in the air, like she was about to hit him...
The world was turning slowly, almost stopping, after three movements of your finger, the one that the nail was always painted black, the dame that had cut the wall.
As the world was moving slowly, you were moving like normal.
5... you calmly walked to Keigo
4... you took him on your arms
3... you put him on the bed
2... you took the pillow case from the pillow
1... you tied both of the hands of Keigo's mother.
The world was back to normal, and Keigo blinked looking at what was now his mother on the ground and you on top of her mobilizing her, while he was no longer on the floor, but on his new fluffy bed that you picked for him "so quick..." he mumbles and look at you with admiration.
You took your phone from your purse, and sat on top of her back "Hello? You saw from the cameras, didn't you? Yeah... I think she needs a few days of vacation... about a week? Okay I let her on the couch then? Thank you, good bye" you turn off the cellphone and look at Keigo who was mouth agape looking at you with shiny eyes. "Let's go?" You smile and pick him up.
"YOU WERE SO AWESOME!!! And didn't you told me to change my clothes?" He hugged your neck
"We can just buy it on the mall but... outside is really cold..." you put him back on the bed and took off your coat "here, I'll lend you my favorite coat, please take good care of it"
He sniffs the coat and is meet by the soft smell of lavender and sweetened coffee.
Tumblr media
He looks at you with shiny eyes, "okay!"
You pick him up again and hold his mother's ankle while you drag her to the living room. "Tomorrow is your trainer's day off, so today you can sleep later"
"Woo-hoo!!"
You chuckle and let the woman on the couch, then you go out with him.
"Let's have breakfast and then go out and about"
You carried him to the car, and there you put him on the backseat and when you were going to buckle him up he stopped you.
"Let me do it! I'm a big boy" you nod and watch as he struggles, but after some time does it.
"Good job" you kiss his forehead and goes to the front seat.
As you drive around you put some kids pop, which he sang along to the Disney songs from the movies you showed him.
As you stop at a café that you liked, "Let's go?" He unbuckles himself, and you open the door to him, picking him up again
"I can walk!"
"Not with that bare feet of yours" you tickle his feet which makes him squirm and giggle.
Walking in you take a sit and sat Keigo beside you. "You can get anything, ask away" you took the menu and give it to him "since you learn how to read better I'm sure you can pick what you want"
"Okay!..." he spends 20 minutes  choosing his food, which ended up being a chicken breast sandwich and a soda, you immediately told him no soda in the morning.
"How about some juice?" You offer
"What are you going to drink?" Keigo tilts his head to the side.
"I want to go out and by sweetened coffee from the vending machine, it's my favorite, and no you can't have some"
He giggles and nods "I want strawberry juice!"
"I'm gonna go order it to the cashier, two chicken sandwiches and a strawberry juice"
"Can I pick a dessert?"
"After you eat everything, sure, here play a game on my phone while you wait, I'll be right back" you give him your phone unlocked and go to the cashier.
Keigo is playing on your cellphone when someone approaches him, his little trained feathers don't recognize this person's vibrations, so he looks up and sees a dude with a scary look and long black hair.
They both just stare at each other "sup" Keigo say and discreetly send a feather to you and taps your feet.
You come back to the table and is surprised to see your oldest friend, you give him a big smile "Shouta-niisan!" You hug him, but he only pats your head.
Keigo looks surprised at the interaction, you don't talk about yourself, only the basic and vaguely gives information about what you did before him.
"Is this your kid?" The man looked at Keigo, the man looked like it was around 23 maybe 25.
"Yeah! I'm his-... mom, yeah! I'm his mother" you smile breaking the hug and sat down "too busy to stay?"
He nods and put a can of your favorite sweetened coffee in front of you "You're doing a good job, just be careful, you never know"
You nod back at him and give him a big smile "I will, at least I'm no longer doing patrols, don't forget to call me once a week"
"I never broke a promise, won't start now" he pets your hair and goes away.
Keigo watched the weird transactions extremely curious "Who was him? Is him your older brother? You don't look alike. Why didn't you say goodbye to him? Why does he look like a bun? Why-"
"Enough!" You put your hand on his mouth "He's an old friend, I call him nii-san because I always called him that, no we aren't blood related, he always looked like that, and... we promise to never say goodbye to each other"
"Why?"
"Because a goodbye can be forever, so we just don't say it" a waitress comes to you both and puts everything on the table.
You open the canned coffee and drink it, smiling at him as he eats, you both eat and then went shopping.
...
Keigo could fit in anything, and he would look cute you just loved the way he looked on yellow or beige, they fit well with his red wings.
"Hey mom... I wanted to know if-..." he was scared, uncomfortable maybe? About something.
"You can ask me anything Birb, there is no way that I will not answer" you kneeled on the floor besides him and looked at him through the mirror.
"What's your quirk?" He looked at you while fiddling with his hands.
You smiled at him "It's kinda hard to explain, It's better if I show it to you" you took his hand and paid for the clothing, now that he was with some clothes that were good for the Autumn cold weather.
After getting to the car you drove off to the training gym.
"Why are we here?" Keigo recognized the building quickly.
"My power can be a little destructive, its1better to do this in a place that no one can get hurt" going in you went to your private training room with the little boy following you like a baby duck.
"How destructive?" Keigo held your hand and you held his.
"Very, now stay back" you pressed a bottom on the wall "My quirk needs ink all the time to do anything, and I always have it around me, most likely on my point finger, here I can do almost anything" you made a straight line in the direction of the dummies and cut 3 at the same time, cutting through them.
"Woaaah! What else?" Keigo's wings fluffed up at your awesomeness.
You walk to the middle and make a dot next to him, a huge tree appears from nothing surprising him, he falls to the floor shocked.
"I can also make a path of flowers, and the tree will only stay there for a few seconds, but it can surprise the enemy enough to take them down" you move your finger around under Keigo's feet and there grows some flowers.
"My ability is called Celestial Brush"
"THIS IS SO COOL!" He runs to you, and you pick him up when he's close enough. "MOM YOU ARE AWESOME!"
You look at him surprised and hug him tightly "My son, you are awesome too"
You two stay like that for some time, until he bugs you to show more of your ability,  which you do, you show him each trick and technique you learned until now.
https://youtu.be/BRcfqu3hQkY (your quirk)
(Yes this is your quirk, and everything you can do with it)
After showing him everything  you picked him up and you both go back home to take a shower, eat and sleep.
Those moments in his life were the happiest that Keigo had ever been, always protected by you, he was given the love and affection that he always wanted, he didn't care for everything else, he just cared about you, because you were his true mother, the woman that he would run to when he got himself hurt, to ask about life, to ask about anything really, since you also were his teacher. When he had nightmares you would hold him until he calmed down, would kiss his head, would compliment the small things he had done, and would scout him when he did something wrong.
Keigo loved you more than anything in his life, and Hawks miss you dearly in his, because in the end, you still worked for the commission, and he too didn't have a choice when you went away for an important mission.
The day before your departure you both made a pillow nest in the living room, you induced him on his bird instincts, HD wouldn't have such luxury after you went away.
Tumblr media
Neither of you talked about you leaving, instead you showed him your favorite movies, snacks and old latin folktales, the feeling of sadness was there the whole moment.
You tried to give as much advice you could, and only took him off your arms to use the bathroom.
Keigo also didn't wanted to let go of you, both sleep hugging each other, you promised that you would come back as soon as you could, that tou would  ever forgive him if he died while being a hero, that you knew he was build for greatness.
Only when you had to leave that you allowed yourself to cry, at the door with only a backpack in hands, you put your coat on Keigo while he sleep, also letting your diary on his bed, to let him have you all the time.
After tucking him on his nest, you kissed his forehead and kisses his toy's head, going out of that house took a lot of strength, you didn't wanted to go, but duty called, you just hopped it would take less then a year.
. . . . .
But it didn't took a year, it took 18 years to take the ring leader down, and just now you were finally going back to Japan, and to the now number 2 pro hero Hawks.
.............. As you can see there is more to this book

[2:15am]There was something about late night walks with your favourite person and your favourite icecream during winter.
With Christmas just around the corner there were still some cars and people in the streets, taking the last bite of your magnum you withdrew your hand from Mark's grasp and jogged towards the nearest bin, wiping your hand with the little wet wipe packet you brought as you were very well aware of your abit messy eating habbit you looked up at the decorations and lighting golden and white, tall trees and beautiful massages in holdings you didnt even realised the pair of eyes looking at you adoringly how these lights were nothing compared to the way your eyes shine or how the glow in your skin was making his heart warm.
"Right, Mark"
You turned to look at your boyfriend raising your eyebrows as a signal of 'still waiting for your reply' Mark shook his head slightly breaking away from his chain of thoughts and said,
"Sorry, i didnt hear what you said."
Finishing it with a small embarrased smile making you roll your eyes and repeat,
"Isn't it beautiful, you and i under these lights and this cold night, wouldnt change it for the world."
"Right"
Mark mumbled while bringing your intertwined hands near his lips and giving it a light kiss.
.
You were still strolling side by side admiring the beauty of the park and each other when you spotted a bench maybe its time for a little rest you thought to your self tugging Mark towards the bench's direction you both sat down resting your head on Marks shoulder you looked down at your intertwined hands while your other hand played with the ring on his finger and subtly tracing the veins with your finger tips, looking ahead the little convenience store across the road where a cut out of Bae Suzy holding a hangover medication bottle beaming a perfect smile, when a teasing question popped in your head.
"Mark?,"
You began raising your head to look into his eyes he turned his head to look into your eyes with a small hum a small mischievous smile making it's way to your lips you continued
"If by chance one day, Bae Suzy comes and ask you out what would you do?"
The expression Mark held right now a perfect mixture of confusion and disbelief 'like are you serious?' Was really kinda funny chuckling and shaking his head he said,
"Well... then as tempting it sounds I'll tell her, Sorry Sunbaenim but I have a Girlfriend whom I love very much so I cant break her heart."
Eyes widening at his answer, not buying this bullshit 'he's just saying what I want to hear' shaking your head in disapproval you said,
"MARK ITS BAE SUZY, GODESS BAE SUZY!! To be honest if you leave me for her I wouldn't mind."
Withdrawing your hands from his and putting inside your jacket's pocket you stood up and started walking alert on his feet his soft laughter slightly echoing in the empty in pathway he jogged to walk by your side he began,
"Why are you mad of me rejecting Bae Suzy, at the end no matter how great she is I wont be able to find what I have with you."
Suddenly halting your step you turned to face him you dont know why but suddenly there were butterflies in your stomach and a weird warmth or pride spreading through your veins and eyes shaking while looking into his beautiful brown orbs twinkling with the golden lights over your heads, taking a step towards him you wrapped your hands around his waist engulfing him into your embrace taking into his musk scent. Mark laughed and wrapped his arms around your frame slowly rocking the both of you while a stupid yet satisfied smile stretching your lips you looked up to look at his face from his chest he said,
"Would you do the same if Kim Soo Hyun asked you out."
Losing his arms you both now stood side by side him still looking at you, you began
"I dont wanna lie Mark, or else I'll end up in Santa's bad girl list"
This made him laugh out loud linking your arms you both continued your walk, you were now captivated by the massage written on the board when now standing before you Mark said,
"Say Y/N, if someone offers you money to break up with me what will you do?"
His height kinda towering over you waiting for your genuine answer you looked into eyes a small smile playing on lips you said,
"Depends on the price they are offering"
"What!?" He moved back dramatically hand covering his mouth "really!"
Moving back you laughed at his reaction tilting your head you huffed,
"Ofcourse not Dummy I wont!"
Resuming walking the sky was getting darker, mark strides to walk by your side he asked,
"No what if someone gives you Five million dollars and goes 'Break up with Mark!'
"Are you imitating Lee Soo Man, Five million!? But yes five million why not"
Bursting into laughter Mark said,
"Wont you miss me!?"
"I will, but I will be wiping my tears with dollar bills, I'll secure the money then I'll tell you the truth you will expose the snake while I on the other hand will get both The honey"
Pointing a finger towards Mark and the making money sign by rubbing your fingers.
"And the money."
Rolling his eyes, head shaking in disapproval started walking ahead of you, you were looking at his back when you jogged to catch up with him and taking his hands into yours he said,
"How about I give you Five million to marry me instead?"
The question made you halt your step. Mark stood before you and went down on his knees this was making your heart beat so fast your were sure that shock was evident in your face eyes wide watching him carefully palms sweating and buzz in your ears while Mark said,
"Y/F/N, Will you... wait for me while I tie my shoe lace."
Closing your eyes you let out a irritated huff rolling your eyes you crossed your arms across your chest and started walking away from Mark shaking your head in disbelief while a smile unbeknownst graced on your lips.
"I Fucking hate you"
Mark's loud laugh echoed in the air trying you catch up with you while his hand went to his left pocket feeling the outline of the box resting, waiting for the right time.

wallflowers: part three
Tumblr media
zuko x f!reader modern au
summary: things get heated and tense when zuko gets jealous at a party with you
warning: alcohol consumption, angst :(
a/n: @teelagurl558 and i had a good discussion about zuko & alcohol and i really wanted to make a part three lmao
You gazed out the car window, watching the passing houses and streetlights. You turned towards the driver, Zuko, and he moved his head to look at you for a quick moment, smiling softly. He took one hand off of the wheel and placed it on your thigh, giving it a squeeze before resting it there. Your heart melted completely. This guy made you into putty every time he touched you.
You spent the last month with him and your friends so happily. But sadly, the long break was coming to an end. A new semester was starting in a few days, so this was your last night together; you were leaving tomorrow afternoon to head back to your town. You had been staying at both Suki’s apartment and Zuko’s. Your relationship with him had blossomed so naturally. He asked you to be his girlfriend about a week before. You two weren’t rushing things, and took the time to really get to know each other, go out, spend time together, and even sleeping over at his house. You were willing to do long distance, but you weren’t sure if Zuko was, so you had been afraid that this would simply be a fling. But when he asked you to be his girlfriend, he told you he was more than happy to have a long distance relationship. He told you how special you were to him and even started planning the next time he would want to see you after you left. You really, really liked him.
“I wish you could stay one more day,” Zuko spoke, breaking the comfortable silence.
“I know, me too. I just have so much packing and preparing to do for the new semester,” You replied sadly.
The two of you were headed to Suki apartment. She and Katara had planned a surprise going away party for you. One last hoorah. You were under the impression that it was a simple get together that would include ordering pizza and hanging out. Little did you know, they invited about ten other people you befriended through them during your stay, Toph brought a big ol’ speaker, and Sokka bought a bunch of alcohol (everyone who planned on drinking helped pitch in money for it, of course). And obviously there would still be pizza, among other snacks.
Zuko pulled up outside of Suki’s apartment building. The two of you made your way inside and a couple flights of stairs until you made it to her door. He put his hand on the handle and slowly opened it. Your eyes widened when you saw it was completely dark inside, not a soul in sight.
“What the hell?” You said, very confused. Zuko shrugged in response before grabbing your hand and walking inside. As you did so, the lights flickered on, and a bunch of familiar faces jumped out of nowhere.
“Surprise!” They all yelled somewhat in unison.
You felt your soul leave your body as you flinched.
“Holy shit, is it someone’s birthday?” You asked in response, gaining some laughs.
“No, dummy! It’s our ‘y/n-going-away-and-we-are-sad’ party!” Suki said, appearing from the crowd of people.
“I’m celebrating!” You heard Sokka say from across the room.
“I love you, oh my god! You guys didn’t have to do this,” You said before hugging her and planting a kiss on her cheek. You turned to Zuko. “Did you know about this?!”
Zuko nodded and smirked. You pulled away from Suki and hugged him tight. “Might as well have some fun before you go,” He said, a hint of sadness in his tone.
“Well, thank you, everyone!” You yelled as you pulled away from your boyfriend, but not before giving him a peck on the lips. You made your way around the room, hugging and thanking everyone who was there. Toph surprised you the most by hugging you the tightest and the longest. You swore you could hear her sniffle a little. You eventually made your way back to Zuko, who was holding a wine cooler out for you.
“Thank you, hun,” You replied before cracking it open and taking a swig.
You spent the night eating snacks, talking with your friends, listening to music, playing card games, etc. It was the most fun you’ve had in a while. Zuko was attached at your hip all night, which you were fine with, but it made you a little concerned. Something seemed off with him. He slammed a few drinks with Sokka and went through more pretty quickly after. When you suggested he slowed down, he mumbled an excuse like, ‘I thought this was a party’ and shrug it off. You eventually found yourself on the couch, feeling the alcohol hitting you, but you felt fine. Just a little dizzy. Zuko had drunkenly walked away for a moment to get you some water. Sokka plopped down next you, placing a hand over his eyes.
“I should’ve stopped a few drinks ago,” He grumbled.
“Are we gonna have a repeat of the last party?” You asked jokingly.
“God, I hope not,” Sokka replied under this breath. He slouched over, his head accidentally falling onto your shoulder. You heard some snores. You decided to let him stay there since he clearly was feeling sick. You looked up and saw Zuko enter the room, tripping slightly. His eyes landed on you and then glanced over at Sokka’s head on your shoulder. He gripped the water in his hand tightly.
“Hey, baby, mind giving the water to Sokka? He doesn’t feel too good,” You asked, sitting up forward. Sokka’s limp, sleeping body fell behind you. Zuko suddenly tossed the water bottle at Sokka and walked away. What the fuck?
You got up, letting the drunk boy fall roughly onto the couch, causing him to wake up.
“What happened?” Sokka asked, slurring his words.
“I don’t know. He came in and threw that water at you and left,” You explained. Sokka sat up and rubbed his eyes.
“Maybe he got jealous. He gets weird sometimes when he drink. I can go talk to him,” He said, surprising you at how level headed he was suddenly being. He got off the couch and walked down the hallway, and you followed closely. You found Zuko standing at the bathroom vanity, gripping the sink hard and holding himself up. His head hung low.
“Zuko, buddy, what’s wrong?” Sokka asked the weirdly angered boy.
“I don’t know. Maybe don’t make moves on my girlfriend?” Zuko replied nastily as his head shot up, glaring at the two of you through the mirror. He turned around, falling slightly but catching himself.
“Dude, what?” Sokka questioned, confusion in his tone. He walked towards his friend. “I’d never do that to you, bro. Plus I have a girlfriend? Who I love more than anything?”
“Zuko, what are you talking about?” You pitched in from the bathroom doorway.
“Go put your head on Suki then, buddy. Don’t touch my fucking girlfriend,” Zuko snapped, suddenly charging the other boy and pressing his puffed out chest against his aggressively.
“Hey! What has gotten into you?!” You yelled, running over to break them up.
“Yeah. What has gotten into you, dude? Don’t pull this shit right now,” Sokka replied with a bit of an attitude, but trying to keep his cool to not make the situation worse. “You’re drunk. You don’t know what you’re saying.”
“I know what I saw!” Zuko sneered, pushing Sokka away roughly. His eyes were filled with rage. You backed away in shock, not liking this side of him. Why was he being like this?
“Really, Zuko? My last fucking night here and you want to start a fight over nothing? Sokka is fucking drunk and wasn’t feeling good, and fell on me,” You explained angrily.
“Yeah, man, what the hell,” Sokka added, sounding disappointed. “I’m not fighting you, dude. This is ridiculous.”
Zuko suddenly pushed Sokka again, causing you to break.
“Zuko! Enough!” You screamed before grabbing Sokka by the collar of his shirt and dragging him out of the bathroom. You pushed him away once you exited the bathroom and stormed to Suki’s room, slamming and locking the door behind you. You sat on the edge of the bed, anxiously running your hands through your hair before fishing your phone from your pocket. You bounced your leg nervously, trying to busy yourself and calm down. You couldn’t believe this was happening.
A few minutes later, a knock at the bedroom door startled you.
“Y/N? It’s Suki and Katara! Can you let us in?” A voice from the other side of the door asked worriedly.
You got up and unlocked the door for them. Two worried looking girls strolled in, closing the door behind them.
“What happened?” Katara asked.
“Sokka’s drunk as fuck, his head fell on my shoulder, Zuko walked in, stormed out, and then we confronted him about it what was wrong, and then he tried to fight Sokka!” You explained irritatedly.
“What? Why would he get so mad about that? Sokka always falls on people when he’s drunk?” Suki questioned. “He falls asleep!”
“I’m just so pissed. You should’ve seen him. He was being so irrational. I didn’t even recognize him,” You muttered, replaying the scene in your head. The girls sat down beside you at the edge of the bed, rubbing circles on your back.
“I’m sorry, honey. For what it’s worth, Zuko sounds like he feels awful,” Katara offered with a light smile.
“I don’t care. I hated seeing him like that,” You mumbled. “I just need to be away from him right now.”
“Sokka told me he’s been feeling down knowing you leaving. Maybe that has something to do with tipping him over,” Suki suggested. You shrugged and buried your face in your hands. The image of the anger in his eyes was stuck in your head.
“Can you guys leave me alone for a bit?” You asked. “I need to cool off and think.”
The girls nodded sadly before getting up and exiting the room. You fell backwards on the bed, staring at the ceiling miserably. A couple minutes later, a few knocks sounded and the door knob started to jiggle. They must’ve locked it on their way out.
“What?” You yelled at whoever was at the door.
“Y/N?” It was Zuko. His voice sounded scared and worried. “Please let me in.”
On the other side of the door, Zuko was leaning against the wood, his hands pressed against it. He felt horrible. He didn’t know what had gotten into him. After you left the bathroom, Sokka got Katara and Suki and reasoned with him, calming him down. After the intervention, he realized what he had done. He felt terrible knowing he had hurt you. He couldn’t imagine how scared and upset you were to see him like that. He hadn’t acted like that in a very long time.
“Y/N, baby, please,” Zuko begged. “Please open the door for me. I’m so sorry.”
Silence.
The quiet from the other side was deafening. A pit formed in Zuko’s stomach. Was he going to lose you?

Competition Flows Through Their Veins
Summary: AJ and Allison have a competition for who can take down the most walkers when suddenly something happens that stirs up bitter memories.
Word Count: 2035
Read on AO3:
Willy had spotted ten walkers all spread out in front of the gates. None of them seemed to be a huge threat but it was better to be safe than sorry. That’s what Clementine had always thought and it seemed that over the years people had agreed with her on that. Normally a few of them would already be out there, clearing out the walkers with Rosie in tow. But today before Clementine could send out Aasim and Omar she heard a booming voice.
“Clem!” AJ barreled forward, his knife and hatchet whacking against his hips as he moved forward. Skidding to a halt, AJ ended up kicking some dust into the air making both himself and Clementine cough.
“AJ, what’s wrong?” Clementine looked over at him with concern, giving a few sharp coughs to get the dust out of her throat.
“Nothing! I just...” AJ paused for a moment and took a deep breath. “I want to clear out the walkers by the gates with Allison. We’re gonna make it a competition.” AJ spoke proudly as he brushed a finger under his nose to stop himself from sneezing due to the dust.
“AJ…” Clementine picked up on the fact that he had heard the worry in her voice.
“We’ll be super safe! I already got Aasim and Willy to agree to give us backup if anything goes wrong,” AJ watched Clementine closely. “I’m strong.”
His words made Clementine look over at his eyes and notice the hardened determination in them.
“I know you are, kiddo. I don’t doubt that for a second,” Clementine gave a soft smile. With a deep breath she spoke once more. “Alright, but I’m taking watch with my bow just to be safe.”
“Okay,” AJ gave a short nod; he knew that if he wanted this competition he had to agree to the base rules Clementine put in place. Clementine’s smile remained and she ruffled his afro fondly. “Alright, go get set up and remember-”
“I know, I know, always aim for the head,” AJ ran off, giving a small smile back at Clementine before wandering off to find Allison and share the good news.
Soon everyone knew of this competition. Some of them were more for it like Louis and Willy who knew that AJ and Allison could handle themselves and that there were plenty of traps in the area to use if needed. Others were more cautious about the whole thing such as Prisha and Aasim who were well aware of the world’s random cruelty that it bestowed upon the living. Still, all of them knew that Allison and AJ were both too stubborn to stop the competition now. Competitiveness flowed through their veins and they were both incredibly ambitious when it came to becoming stronger.
After a couple minutes those in support roles were in position while Ruby and Omar stayed inside the dorms with the little kids. Clementine stood on the watch tower while Aasim and Willy stood outside, right by the gates.
“Good luck, Allie!” Willy leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Allison’s cheek. The romantic gesture made Allison grow flustered and she stared at her boots.
“Thanks,” Allison brushed her hand against his before giving it a small squeeze. “AJ is totally going to lose this one,”
Those words set a fire in AJ who puffed out his chest. “I’m winning and when I do, that new weapon you’re making with Willy is gonna be mine!”
“Okay,” Allison casually strolled forward, taking out her spear hammer. “But when I win and you lose you have to give Garbage a bath,”
“Ugh, why?” AJ looked over at his best friend.
“I don’t know,” Allison shrugged, “I think it would be funny.”
AJ frowned at those words and with a grumpy grumble took out his knife. “I’m winning, dummy.”
Allison laughed at that. “Keep telling yourself that,” Her eyes scanned the area and she spotted the first walker she wanted to take out. Dashing forward without warning, Allison swung her spear hammer. Using the spear end to hook into the jaw, she dragged the walker along and slammed it into a tree with a sharp lower branch. The branch burrowed into the walker’s gut, causing blood and intestines to coat it. Allison quickly spun her weapon, switching to the hammer side, and with a deadly blow caved in the walker’s head. Brain matter began to spill out of its misshapen head as its body went limp. “That’s one.”
AJ huffed and mockingly said her words under his breath before he spotted his first walker. Jogging forward, he stayed a few paces away in order to properly take this walker down. Waiting for the ideal moment, AJ kicked out the walker’s leg then proceeded to plunge his knife deep within its eye socket. The eye popped from the attack, spurting its juice onto AJ’s face.
“Bleh,” AJ spat a couple times to make sure none got in his mouth. Allison’s quiet laughter made his eyes shoot over to see her smug, competitive smile. “Whatever, stupidhead. Watch this,” AJ unclipped his hatchet and with a mighty throw sliced through the skullcap of a walker. With a thunk the hatchet embedded itself into the tree just as the walker it had sliced through fell down, lifeless.
“Not bad,” Allison swung her weapon, her aim missing the mark slightly due to the sudden swaying movement of the walker. The spear ended up hooking underneath its cheekbone too firmly and with a strong tug Allison tore off its lower jaw. Flicking it onto the ground, Allison unsheathed her knife and jabbed it into the walker’s head before it had a chance to move any closer.
Allison’s move made AJ’s eyes shine with awe. That was so cool. He definitely wanted to beat her in this competition now. Plus with her compliment on his last move he  knew he had what it took to win.
“Wooo! Go, Allie! You’ve got this!” Willy cheered on his girlfriend then proceeded to cheer for his best friend as well. “Go, AJ!”
“Yeah, go AJ! Show those stinky deadheads who's boss!” Louis called out from the gate and watched as AJ took down another walker by plunging his blade right through the back of its skull before retrieving his hatchet. AJ turned around and saw Louis who gave a big thumbs up and smile. Louis continued to watch AJ before glancing over at Violet who seemed a bit tense. “Gonna cheer too, Vi?”
“Maybe,” Violet’s eyes watched Allison from behind her glasses. Her hands were wrapped tightly around her arms as she crossed them.
“Loosen up, Vi,” Louis hooked his arm around her shoulder. “Everything will be okay. First sign of danger and the smelly patrol will have all of us to deal with.”
Violet gave a small nod. Louis studied her expression for a moment and decided to try and lighten up the mood.
“Or is it that you think Allison can’t take the heat?”
“Heh, she’s gonna win. Allison is gonna kick AJ’s ass.” Violet smirked over at her best friend who returned it in kind.
Hear, hear,” Prisha smiled as she walked forward. Immediately Violet’s tension seemed to dissipate if only a bit as she let her arms fall to her side before taking Prisha’s hand in hers. Louis could see the same concern that Violet had in Prisha’s eyes as well. He looked over at Clementine. After seeing that she was tense too, Louis slipped away just as Prisha and Violet started to cheer Allison on.
Allison was in the midst of bludgeoning a walker’s head but for some reason it was still moving. So when it opened its mouth Allison speared it through to make sure she got to the brain then tossed it to the ground. Her score was tied with AJ’s now.
“Are you doing okay?” Louis slowly climbed up the ladder to the watchtower and noticed Clementine glance back his way. Immediately her eyes softened and the two shared a quick kiss.
“What are you doing up here, Lou?” Clementine smiled as Louis’ fingers intertwined with hers for a moment.
“I thought it had to be lonely being up on this watchtower alone. So I thought I’d grace you with my company,” Louis leaned forward and stole a soft kiss. “And kisses,” The two shared a smile before Clementine remembered the competition and looked over at AJ. AJ grinned confidently as his hatchet sliced a walker’s face nearly in half.
“Look at our little man go,” Louis hugged Clementine’s shoulders for a few moments.
“Yeah, he’s really grown up,” Clementine held on to Louis’ arms for a couple of seconds, letting her bow rest by her leg. “Allison is no pushover though,” She nodded over at Allison who dodged and sliced through a walker’s fingers before spearing it through the head and tossing it onto a rock.
“Yeah, it's really close. Only two walkers left,” Louis commented and the two continued to watch on in somewhat silence.
Only two left. Allison knew she had to get both to win. One was over by that weird-looking tree that Willy had climbed in order to impress her on their first date together. A soft smile pulled on Allison’s lips at the memory before she refocused to find the other walker. Once her eyes caught sight of the walker’s location, however, she felt her heart tighten.
It was wandering over towards the old car that had crashed right outside the gates. Within the car was a small garden of pink flowers. Flowers that Allison had placed in memory of Renata. Flowers that she had kept safe ever since she planted them after Renata’s passing. Allison gritted her teeth, her anger and sorrow mixing within her gut as she sprinted forward.
“You get the fuck away from that!” Allison’s sudden shouting drew everyone’s attention as the walker mindlessly grasped at a pink flower. Allison dug her fingers into its soft, rotten back flesh and spun it around. Taking out her knife, Allison began to blindly stab the walker out of pure rage as tears stung her eyes. The walker groaned, its milky white eyes staring blankly into Allison’s as it continued to try and consume her flesh and blood. All of her attacks were in spots that wouldn’t put it down.
“Allison!” Willy notched an arrow and aimed at the walker while Prisha and Violet pulled open the gate door to go and help. The world around Allison seemed to fade away as she lived in her emotions, watching as the walker’s teeth threatened to bite her until she finally plunged her knife into its skull. The walker fell down to the ground, limp, any sign of life drained from its eyes. Allison stared at the walker before spitting onto it. She remained frozen in her spot until she felt arms wrap around her.
“Allie! You’re safe!” Willy held onto her tightly and pulled her further into the hug. Allison felt her throat burn as she glanced at the walker then at the pink flowers.
“Allison!” Prisha ran forward along with Violet. “You weren’t bitten, were you?”
“No, I wasn’t,” Allison mumbled but the others still checked her for bites.
Soon AJ jogged forward, fresh blood on his blade from the final walker he took down with a stab to the side of its head. “You okay?”
“I’m fine,” Allison whispered, still wrapped up in Willy’s arms. “It’s a tie.”
“Yeah, it is,” AJ took a deep breath then furrowed his eyebrows “What do you wanna do? Another competition?”
“No, I don’t,” Allison’s eyes focused on the flowers before she glanced over at her best friend. “Let’s just say we both won. Okay?” “Okay,” AJ gave a short nod and watched as Allison slipped out of Willy’s arms. Slowly she walked forward and picked one of the pink flowers.
“We should probably head inside,” Allison walked in and soon the others followed. Not sure what to say or do, they watched Allison as she examined the flower. Slowly she twirled it between her fingertips, a single thought soon appearing in her mind. It was time that she visited an old friend.

Dip a Toe (Victor x MC)
This is my entry for July 6th Summer of Smut Challenge. Tagging the awesome @voltage-vixen. Hope you all enjoy
Dip a Toe (Victor x MC)
MLQC
Summer of Smut Challenge- July 6th: Skinny Dipping at Night
Warnings: Semipublic nudity, sex, public sex
“Strawberry daiquiri, please. Blended.”
You ordered your drink, ignoring the man whose presence you felt behind you. The cool dimness of the hotel bar was a welcome respite to your hot face, and sweaty body, and you silently thanked whomever it was who invented AC. Handing her your card for the fruity drink, you heard the scoff of Victor behind you. Well, he could scoff all he wanted. You didn’t need his help to do anything. The bartender gave you a sympathetic look, and asked loud enough for Victor to hear if you were ok before cutting her eyes in his direction. Her warning was clear; upset her customers and she would move in. If judging by the bulge of her biceps, it wouldn’t be the first time. You shot a reassuring smile her way, accompanied with an eye roll in Victor’s direction, and taking your card back, made sure to leave a sizable tip before strolling over to the outside terrace. Even while angry, you had to admit Victor had impeccable taste in resorts. It was your first official trip as a couple, and though you had only been official for 3 months, the sheer amount of time you seemed to spend together made it feel like years. He had managed to take in account all your preferences when selecting the surprise 2 week trip as a reward for your 5 star rating on the latest venture. Though he didn’t treat you any differently as his investment, he always made sure to reward you for all the hard work as his girlfriend. You inhaled the fragrant scent of the jasmine that grew from the various planters. Taking a sip of your drink, you shuddered a little at its strength. The bartender must have felt you needed a little more boast to deal with Victor, the sweet thing.
“You’re being ridiculous, you know.” Victor’s deep voice cut through your peaceful daydreaming, and you turned around to glare at him. He looked so casually handsome in the setting sun. His light blue linen shirt gave a wonderful contrast to the honey tan of his skin. He hadn’t been using any hair products since the trip, and the stylish cut of his bangs hung into his face. They seemed to emphasize the intensity of his dark eyes, and you swallowed hard.
“Easy, girl. You’re mad. Don’t give in. Don’t. Give. In.”
Adopting a look of feigned indifference, you eyed him as you sipped your drink.
“And what, pray tell Mr. Li, is ridiculous? The fact that you find me boring, or the fact that I got upset about it?”
You downed your drink fighting back a grimace, and left the empty glass on the table. Turning around, you strolled towards the hidden opening that led to the path towards the resort’s private beach, enjoying the crashing sound of the waves. Earlier in the week, you and Victor had discovered a hidden little secret spot on the resort’s private beach. You noticed that many of the resort visitors didn’t seem to frolic there, and the two of you had gone to it each night to watch the sunset. You would have missed it by the time you got there, but you were angry and didn’t want to go back to the room with him. Besides, you enjoyed the multitude of stars that were visible over the water. You could hear his footsteps following you down the path, but for once he was quiet. You rolled your eyes at the doubt that started creeping up in your chest. Maybe you were overreacting. You squared your shoulders as you walked. No! He would have to apologize for his poor choice of words. You made it down the path, and the beach was blessedly empty. You found your favorite spot; a sun warmed rock that seemed to have mysteriously found itself just off the side of the beach. You slipped your sandals off, burying your toes in the sand. It was still hot, and you wiggled your toes deeper, a sense of peace stealing over. Oh how you loved the beach. Almost skipping over to the rock, you had missed the glow of adoration in Victor’s smile. Even in the moonlight it was so easy for him to read the delight in your motions. He briefly wondered if he should buy the resort if for no other reason than to get to see you smile.
You plopped down on the rock, and kept your toes in the sand. There was a breeze coming off the ocean, and the salty smell of it tickled your nose. Victor sat next to you, making sure to leave a bit of space. You continued to ignore him. Tracing patterns in the sand with your toes, you heard him sigh.
“ I didn’t call you boring you know.” You didn't look in his direction.
“Oh?”
“Dummy, I said, predictable. I’m not sure what idiotic dictionary you’ve been using, but those words are not the same in mine.”
You whirled towards him, the strap of your tank top falling down a little over your shoulder.
“They might as well mean the same thing Victor! When you say you don’t have to ask me about things because you already know my response, well it makes me feel boring… even if that’s not what you mean. I can be exciting too, you know!.”  You huffed at his amused expression and turned back around crossing your arms. He reached out to pull up your strap and you jerked away slapping his hand.
“Ouch! Dummy, I’m just trying to fix your top. You’re not wearing a bra. Are you trying to put on a show?”
Sudden inspiration struck you. Maybe it was the drink that left a pleasant fuzzy sensation in your head. Maybe it was that amused look on Victor’s face, or his refusal to admit that telling you that you were predictable wasn’t a nice compliment. Either way, you jumped up from the rock, and sauntered over to Victor, out of reach, but in his full view.
“Maybe I want it to fall down. After all, I am about to undress.” You spun away so your outline was partially obscured by the shadows stretching out on the beach, the moonlight lending a glow that made you feel like a goddess as you slowly unbuttoned your shorts. Shimmying out of them as sensually as you could, (a feat that came with challenges given they way they stuck to your sweat covered thighs), you took a second to fold them before you languidly let your fingers drift down to your tank’s hem. Victor let out a growl, and you turned to face him, an eyebrow drifting up in question.
“And just what in the hell do you think you are doing?” he bit out.
“Why Mr. Li, you mean you can’t predict my next move?” Not waiting for a response, you pulled your tank off, breasts bare to his stare. Fighting the self conscious urge to cover yourself, you hooked your fingers in your underwear, pulling them down in one swift motion. Victor choked as he stared at your body. The struggle between disapproval, and arousal fighting for dominance on his face.
“Dummy… I’m warning you…”
Instead of responding, you stretched, moaning sensually as you could feel the muscles in your back stretch and pop.
“Warn me all you want. I’m going for a dip.”
“You’re not that strong of a swimmer,” he snapped at you, disapproval winning in the end.You shrugged in response. “Well then I guess you better join me, huh? Unless it’s too boring for someone as sophisticated as yourself, Mr. Li.”
You turned and walked away from him, not bothering to wait for a response. Still, your heart pounded hard in your chest. What if he didn’t join you? “Nonsense” you told yourself. And well if he didn’t, you weren't going to dwell on it. You reached the water, and waded out. It had been a sweltering day, and the water was like a tepid bath. You giggled as the waves pushed you back towards the shore. Your feet feeling the sea shells embedded in the sand. You tucked your knees in your chest, riding a wave back to shore before you raced out again to find another one. Laughing loudly, you let the waves wash over you again. Forgetting for a moment you were mad, you shot a toothy grin Victor’s way. It left your face quickly, however. He was no longer on the rock. You turned back into the water with a sigh. The waves not as fun alone anymore. Maybe you had taken it too far?
You heard his chuckle behind you, and before you could turn around, he pulled you against the hard planes of his chest.
“Quit pouting. As if I would let you stay out here alone.”
You struggled against him for a moment, but he just pulled you closer.
“Stop wiggling so much. Your little fist is near a sensitive area, you know.” Frowning, you finally registered that you hadn’t felt his linen shirt. Reaching a questing hand back, Victor groaned a little as your hand brushed against his rising erection.
“You’re naked,” you said without stopping the movement of your hand. If anything, you sped it up a little. Victor’s hands drifted from around your body to your shoulders. He leaned down to drop a scatter of kisses on the back of your neck.
“Well I wasn’t about to ruin my clothing.” You hummed a noncommittal response, and stopped your hand, darting off in the waves. “Wrong answer!” you shouted at him laughing at his dumbfounded expression. You didn’t get very far before his hands grabbed you around your waist. Victor lifting you with ease, and twirling you around, before looping an arm under your legs, bridal style. You clung to his neck as he dunked you in the water and pulled you back up.
“Victor, you jerk!” you shrieked at him. Your hair was plastered to your face, and you sputtered out the salt water that had filled your open mouth. Instead of apologizing, he threw his head back, a carefree laugh erupting from him that tugged at your heart. Always composed and in control, it took your breath away whenever you got the chance to see him openly laugh. And everytime he did, you felt yourself slip a little bit more in love with him. Setting you on your feet, he pushed your hair out of your face, smiling at you before leaning in for a kiss. You let your eyes drift shut, and raised your face up in anticipation. Victor let out another chuckle before brushing his lips against yours so lightly, you almost didn’t feel it.
“I… I really am sorry for hurting you. I don’t think you’re boring. You’re too much of an absent minded fool to ever be boring.”
Your eyes shot open, but before you could fuss at him for his backhanded compliment, his smiling lips reclaimed yours once more. He deepened the kiss, and the taste of the ocean filled both of your mouths. You twined your fingers into his hair as his tongue tangled with yours. Victor slid his hands along your hips, pulling you in closer. You could feel his erection against your body, and you dropped a hand to grip it. You worked your hand up and down his erection, and Victor’s breathy moans were lost against your lips.
“You’re not going to stop again, are you?” he asked almost desperately.
“The only reason I’m going to stop is because I’d rather have you buried in me,” you responded back, nipping at his lower lip. Victor groaned at your words pulling you back in for a passionate kiss.  His thumbs gently stroked along you before he moved one of his hands between your legs. Cupping you gently he delved two of his fingers inside you, scissoring them back and forth for a moment. You let out a groan of your own as his skilled fingers work their magic on you taking you closer to the edge. His palm ground against your clit and your stomach flipped as your arousal rushed to coat his fingers. Victor ducked his head down to lick a path between your breasts, and latched onto a nipple, flicking his tongue against it. You let out a whine, and tried to ride his fingers for more stimulation.
“Victor, I’m ready. Please, just, just give me what I need.” Victor shuffled you back a bit, the water swirling around your ankles before he dropped to his knees and pulled you down with him. You laid out on the sand, the waves tickling your bodies as he placed himself between your legs. Rocking back on his knees, he grabbed your legs, draping them over his thighs. Watching intently, he eased himself in, inch by painstakingly inch until he was as deep as he could go.
“I love watching how well you take me.” He moved his hips forward in a hard stroke, groaning your name out as he did. He pumped forward again, and soon he set a pace that had you writhing against the sand. His hands dropped on either side of your head, and you flicked your tongue against the pulse at his wrist, raising your hips to meet the force of his thrusts. Victor let out a curse, and sped up. He angled his hips in just the right direction to hit that spot that made you almost see stars. It felt so,so good. You reached your hands up and clasped them around Victor’s neck to drag him down for a kiss. You crossed your ankles around him to take him in deeper, the pleasure mounting in your core. You broke the kiss to throw your head back at the jolts of pleasure that began shooting over your body.
“Victor, I’m about to cum, oh I’m about to cum. Don’t stop, please. Oh, please”
“I’m close too,” he ground out as he picked up his pace. “Cum for me, love. Take your pleasure from me.”
You bit into Victor’s shoulder as you fell apart, your screams of pleasure muffled against his flesh. He gave a few more hard pumps before he pulled himself out and spilled across your stomach. After a few more kisses and catching your breaths, you rinsed off in the waves. You shivered as you made your way back to your rock. The temperature had dropped, and you were feeling it. You and Victor quickly dressed, and he held your hand as you made you way back up the path, swinging your hands back and forth.
“So…. Am I forgiven?,” he asked glancing in your direction. You pretended to ponder a bit, and even tapped your chin earning an amused snort from Victor.
“I’d say you’re well on your way. But don’t most apologies need someone on their knees?”
Victor stopped walking, and pulled you into his arms. “Oh I’ll have you on your knees alright, and on your back, on my lap, and maybe even on all fours”, he whispered against your ear.
“Victor! That’s not what I meant!” you giggled slapping his chest before you two resumed walking.
“But I have to say, if this is the way you apologize, I hope you mess up a lot more in the future.”

Wandavision Ep 7 Spoilers
Spoilers below
Good morning. There's a guy power washing the sidewalks at 12:30 a.m., and the drone from the generator is drilling into my brain. So I will watch WandaVision instead of doing something I might regret.
Previously on: Wanda was getting sick of Pietro's shit. Vision knows/thinks his wife is behind all the creepy shenanigans, and he tried to escape the Hex, only to fly to pieces in the real world. I can relate.
Outside, Monica, Jimmy, and Darcy were banished from the SWORD circus by Acting Director Dick, because of course. They snuck back in, also because of course. Darcy hacked AD Dick's files and found out he's Up to Something. Then she ran to try and help Vision and got herself arrested and handcuffed to a jeep. Which is where the brave SWORD agents left her when they ran away as Wanda, attempting to save Vision, expanded the Hex, swallowing Darcy and the SWORD compound, turning it all into a sitcom circus. Well deserved. Well, not Darcy, but anyway.
AD Dick escaped. Unfortunately. But, so did Jimmy and Monica who were off to her mystery aerospace engineer friend to find a way into the Hex.
Also, Tommy and Billy have powers.
The episode 7 summary is a delight: "Two super-powered beings living ideal suburban lives suspect that everything is not as it seems." You don't say, Disney+.
Wanda wakes, regrets everything, and hides under the covers.  Understandable. Cut away to her addressing the camera The Office style "Look, we've all been there. Letting our fear and anger get the best of us; intentionally expanding the boarders of the false world we created". (cut to screaming running SWORD minions lol).
The boys come to get her, their game is freaking out. The video game controllers can't decide what decade they're in and are glitching it up.
Billy says his head feels weird and noisy. Wanda isn't terribly responsive. Mommy needs some her time.
"As punishment for my reckless evening, I plan on taking a quarantine-style staycation. A whole day. Just to myself. That'll show me." lol
Wanda eventually rouses herself, goes downstairs in her robe and sweats, ignores the boys fighting over a video game controller, and goes for the sugariest cereal. The milk container keeps glitching, she tries very very hard to ignore that.
Interesting Office-style opening credits, where it's just her name on everything. Vision is only added at the end, with the tag "Created by Wanda Maximoff".
Out in the real world, what is the point of SWORD? Like how do they have jurisdiction? Where is SHIELD. Director Mack, wtf, dude?
Anyway, now that part of their camp has been swallowed by the hex, they're further out, staring at the angry glowing force-field. AD Dick is a dick. He wants to know what's happening with the broadcast. His little minion says the signal's gone. Ominously he says "we launch today". Mmmm, what delightfully heavy-handed dipshittery will we have to endure?
Back inside. Vision wakes in the field at the edge of town that is now a circus. And lots and lots of clowns. He gets yelled at by a strongman who seems to think Vision is the new clown and tells him he's late for rehearsal with the escape artist. Who is Darcy. lol
"I put in for the bearded lady. But this alabaster complexion wasn't fooling anyone."
Darcy is chained to a ye olde fire engine or tractor or something. Vision walks up to her making a weird face and kind of waving his hand back and forth between them.
"You don't remember me from last night? We locked eyes, there was an unspoken understanding." Darcy tells him "um, hard pass." lol She busts out of her chains and walks away, Vision chases after.
Back at home, Wanda wants to know if the boys have seen dad, they haven't, but Billy wants to know about that whole thing Uncle Pietro said about dad being dead again. Wanda says Pietro is not their uncle. The boys don't understand, and Wanda has a little rambling breakdown about how she has no answers and maybe there's no meaning to anything ha ha don't worry boys mommy's just having a little depression.
Agnes knocks and then, you know, strolls in, when Wanda magics the door open.
"Hi Agnes. I'd get up but I just don't, ahahahah, want to." If I was Billy or Tommy I'd mount a search for dad. Stat.
Agnes: "I think I got there in the nick of time, 'cause she was one split-end away from cutting her own bangs."
(It's 1 a.m. and I swear to God, that man is still power-washing the sidewalks.)
Agnes suggests the boys go with her and give mommy that 'me time' she so desperately needs. The boys are reluctant but Wanda is ecstatic.
Once alone with her certainly soggy cereal, Wanda settles back to watch crappy daytime TV. But, damn it, the furniture is glitching through the eras.
"I'm fine! I'm fine hahahah. *sigh* I'm fine. i'm fine. … I'm fine."
In the real world. Jimmy and Monica are still on the move. The file on project whatever it was from last episode (Cataract), that Darcy forwarded to Jimmy's email, has finally found its way to him. It's R&D reports.
Oh, that asshole, AD Dick was trying to bring Vision back online. Monica puts the pieces together "Heyward wants his sentient weapon back."
Jimmy says somebody has to tell Wanda.
Good thing they arrive at the other side of the Hex, I guess? Where Monica has another team waiting. An Agent Goodner. They brought her like some sort of big Mars rover thingy.
Vision is still trying to talk to Darcy. "You tried to help me." "Doubtful. I'm notoriously self-involved."
lol, some amusing back and forth. Darcy is an f'ing delight and I don't just say that because I am obviously hideously biased.
Vision distracts her with a mime and takes the opportunity to do his brain mojo on her, waking her up. "Part of me secretly wanted a guest spot on this show, but seriously that sucked."
"Dr. Lewis. I have questions." "I have answers."
And then they steal the funnel cake truck.
"Dr. Lewis, my questions. Are my children safe?" "That I don't know." "And who was that Pietro?" "Beats me."
Wanda is still working on her bowl of cereal. Give it up, sister. The house redecorates itself around her.
Uh-oh, in her talking head segment, about how she doesn't understand whats going on, the person behind the camera speaks, and asks if maybe it's what she deserves. "You're not supposed to talk."
Commercial time. For a depression medication. "Nexus, a unique antidepressant that works to anchor you back to your reality. Or the reality of your choice."
Back in Westview. The boys are hanging at Agnes's. Billy has a rabbit. As happens at your crazy neighbor's house. But, he says he likes it there, because it's quiet. "You're quiet, Agnes. On the inside." J'ACCUSE, AGNES!
Back at Monica's backup camp, she's getting suited up in her SWORD astronaut suit. Jimmy's sad because Darcy's missing the fun. But, Monica will rescue her. SWORD is worse than SHIELD for slapping their name all over everything.
Monica and the little rover zoom off to the hex. Should she really go that fast? Maybe this is something to take cautiously? Oh, and look, she hit it hard and she's stuck. The Hex doesn't want to let her in, but she keeps trying. And now the Hex is eating into the rover — sorry, *re-writing* it. Well that was a dumb plan. Sorry guys, but come on.
Monica escapes, but the hex eats the rover and then spits it out, the front half transformed into a truck. Monica is shocked, Jimmy calls for a medic, and as they run forward, Jimmy, who has known Monica for like two days, recognizes she's got 'I'm a heroic dummy' face on and he's all "noooooo!". She runs for the hex and pushes her way in.
This is a really long sequence of her going through the hex. Like … too long. Sorry, but it is. There's a whole thing where she's hearing voices from moments in her life, and she hears Carol tell her how she's a tough kid, and now Monica is Filled With Resolve and breaks through the Hex, still in her Astronaut outfit, so like she resisted the sitcom wardrobe department.
I enjoy this show, but there are moments of hokeyness that I find very trying.
The hex rewrites you at a basic level as you pass through it. So, third time through and Monica's eyes are glowy blue and she can, like, see electrical currents, or electromagnetic fields (it looks like). Trippy. She can see power along the power lines, fields around streetlights. Closing her eyes and shaking her head makes it all go away. Of course.
Meanwhile, Darcy and Vision are on their slow-speed getaway in the Funnel Cake truck. She's trying to catch him up on what's happened since he's been dead. They keep hitting red lights and obstacles. Vision thinks Wanda's doing it to keep him from getting home. "I'm not amused," he tells the camera with a very not amused face on. lol
Vision is trying to understand what he is now. It's not going well. "My corporeal form was born from Ultron's plan for global genocide?" "Correct-o." Darcy might not be the best person to be explaining this to him.
"What am I now?" Poor Vision.
Darcy takes a deep breath. In fairness, she looks like maybe she'd rather not be the one doing the explaining, either. "Honestly, I'm a STEM type of lady, so I thought she just flipped a switch on your head and brought you back to life. What I don't get is why you can't leave the hex."
Vision is having an existential crisis. But, Darcy assures him that based on her week-long experience as a fan of WandaVision, he and Wanda do really love each other. So, there's that. "You belong together," says the shameless shipper.
Meanwhile, Monica has arrived at the Maximoff residence and busts into the house, breathlessly trying to tell Wanda it's all Heyward being a dick, but Wanda's stunned by the sudden entry and then too pissed to really listen. "The drones, the missiles, Pietro." "No, Pietro wasn't us." "All you do is lie." She's tossing Monica around with her powers.
Monica, friend, buddy, pal, was that really your plan? To barge right in and just … what? Talk fast and hope she didn't yeet your ass again? Okay, she didn't have a lot of time, I get that, but surely she could have come up with something. Like, she should have found Darcy and Vision first, and then the three of them could approach Wanda. But, no. Jimmy Woo would have a plan, Monica.
Well, fortunately for Monica she's been rewritten into Electricity Lass. She hits the ground with a staticky crackle and her eyes glow blue again. Wanda's all "bu-whu?"
"The only lies I've told are the ones you put in my mouth," Monica says all angry like. Mmmkay, I thought you were trying to help? Wanda does not care for this response. Because, no offense Monica, but the last time she heard your voice, she had a missile launched at her head.
Monica challenges her. "Do it then, take me out." Not an approach I’d go for, but it seems to work, and Wanda hesitates and Monica tries to warn her again, that unlike Wanda who isn’t actually violent and evil, Heyward will burn down Westview to get what he wants. "Don't let him make you the villain."
"Maybe I already am."
Next door, Agnes is looking out the window, watching them, with a considering look on her face. BECAUSE SHE IS IN ON WHATEVER THIS IS.
Monica is still trying to talk down Wanda. Agnes interrupts. Creepily. And shepherds Wanda away.
Vision and Darcy are thwarted in their journey again. "Oh come on! Kids? What's next? Puppies?"
Vision takes the faster way and intangibles himself out of the van and flies off, leaving Darcy at the endless intersection. "Go on! I'll just meet you there then?"
Back at Agnes's shack of creepy ladies who are freaking up to something. Where are the boys? Oh, Wanda notices the half-eaten PB&Js and the nightmarish kids' show on the telly. Behind her the bunny is in its cage. No sign of the boys. Agnes says they're probably playing in the basement.
Wanda wanders off to find them. But, there are no boys, only horror show creepiness. The basement turns into some weird sort of domed cavern with arches all around and in the middle a weird glowing rectangle.
Agnes comes up behind her. "You didn't think you were the only magical girl in town, did you?" I was wise to you, Agnes. Which, given she was a featured co-star, was probably no great insight on my part. BUT STILL!
"The name's Agatha Harkness. Lovely to finally meet you, dear." OH! LOLOLOL! OH, I didn't see that one coming. Wow, you got me, show. It never occurred to me for a second that it was Agatha Harkness.
And now a fantastic montage of Agatha doing tricksy things as Agnes through the series, with the best theme song ever "Who's been messing up everything? It's been Agatha, all along! Who's been pulling every evil string? It's been Agatha, all along. She's insidious. HA HA! So perfidious." Oh man, this is great. "And I killed Sparky, too."
LOL. Great ending.
Hey, an unexpected mid-credits scene of Monica trying to get into the house. Maybe Agnes's? Oh, yeah, she finds a storm cellar and opens the doors, to see a stone stairway with vines or roots growing all around it and zippy electrical sparks and such. Pietro appears behind her. "Snoopers gonna snoop."
Credits!
Well then.
I KNEW IT! I didn't know what I knew, but I knew I knew a thing!
