I wish more adaptations of Sherlock Holmes acknowledged that his career began when he was fairly young. He was 27 when he met Dr. Watson. He wasn't yet 40 in a large portion of his cases. I feel like that gives some interesting context to those stories.

Like that bitch was barely 29 when he let the villain fucking die in The Adventure of the Speckled Band. He was 34 when he met Irene Adler, began his rivalry with Moriarty, and when Dr. Watson met and married Mary Morstan.

No disguise, however subtle or restrained, would fool them, so Brett decided to let the pendulum swing the other way and make it outrageous. Whatever, it still fooled Watson.
