you loved your husband dearly—even though his attitude sometimes felt like wrangling a feral cat, you couldn’t imagine your life without him. katsuki was a great husband and an even better father. somehow, he managed to juggle being the number one hero, a title that came with endless demands, while still making time for you and your little family.

and then there was kanji. your six-year-old son who was, quite frankly, a miniature katsuki in every sense. the same fiery attitude, the unshakable stubbornness, the sass that could cut sharper than any blade. even the way he’d glare at people—it was uncanny. sometimes you’d swear you were looking at a younger version of your husband.

it wasn’t just his personality, either. kanji’s wild blond hair, sharp crimson eyes, and even the way he crossed his arms when he was annoyed? all bakugou. it was as if the universe had taken katsuki and hit the copy-paste button without consulting you first. you couldn’t help but feel a little robbed—after all, you were the one who carried him for nine months, dealt with the swollen feet, the cravings, the mood swings. and yet, kanji turned out to be a walking, talking katsuki replica.

but honestly? you didn’t really mind. even when kanji’s temper flared, or when he mimicked his dad’s bossy tone, it made your heart warm. because as much as katsuki’s attitude could be a challenge, you loved everything about him. and seeing those same traits in kanji, no matter how chaotic they made your days, was a reminder of the love the two of you had built.

you always knew how much your son looked up to his father—it was written all over kanji’s face. every little thing katsuki did, kanji wanted to do, too. he’d follow katsuki around the house, mimicking his movements, copying the way he crossed his arms or the gruff way he’d say, ‘tch’. kanji’s biggest dream, even at six years old, was to be the number one hero, just like his dad. and katsuki? oh, he ate that up.

“when you’re older, kid, i’ll show ya all the tricks.” katsuki would say, ruffling kanji’s already messy blond hair. “i’ll make sure you’re better than all those extras out there.” kanji’s eyes would light up every time, and the two of them would launch into some over-the-top conversation about training regimens and hero rankings. their bond was undeniable, built on the same fiery ambition and drive that katsuki had passed down to him.

but with that bond came the attitude. katsuki’s attitude. and you swore sometimes it was your curse to deal with two versions of the same fiery temper under one roof. kanji had inherited more than just katsuki’s looks—he had the same sharp tongue, the same unrelenting sass, and the same way of glaring at you like you were personally ruining his day when he didn’t get his way.

you loved your son to pieces, but oh, how your patience was tested.

you swore sometimes you could feel your eye twitch when your six-year-old son had the audacity to sass you. “kanji, clean up your toys.” you’d say, only to be met with an exasperated; “ugh, fine, mom. i’ll do it later, jeez!” complete with an eye roll so dramatic it could win awards.

“watch your tone, kanji.” you’d warn, and from the next room, katsuki would shout, “oi, don’t be talkin’ to your mom like that, you little brat!” and yet, you’d catch him stifling a laugh when kanji wasn’t looking, because deep down, katsuki knew exactly where the kid got it from.

there were days you swore you were outnumbered—two bakugous against one you—but deep down, you couldn’t help but love it. kanji’s sass, as frustrating as it could be, was just another reminder of the fiery, headstrong family you’d built. even if it meant you’d occasionally lose an argument to a six-year-old.

and that’s how you ended up in this situation. you were just trying to get through the grocery trip without any chaos. that was the goal. in and out—grab the essentials and avoid anything that might set off your six-year-old son, kanji. but, of course, life had other plans.

everything had been going smoothly until you turned down the toy aisle, rookie mistake. kanji’s sharp gaze zeroed in on a display of action figures, specifically a limited-edition hero toy that looked suspiciously like dynamight himself. his tiny hand grabbed your sleeve, tugging with determination.

“mom! mom! look! it’s dad’s toy! i need it!”

you gave him a soft smile, crouching down to his level. “kanji, we’re not getting toys today, baby. we’re just here for groceries. you already have tons of toys at home.”

big mistake.

his bottom lip jutted out, his eyes narrowing in frustration. “but i don’t have this one!”

before you could reason with him, he dropped to the floor in a dramatic fashion, kicking his legs and letting out an ear-piercing wail that had heads turning from all directions. your cheeks burned as you tried to calm him, murmuring soft words that fell on deaf ears.

“kanji, stop this right now.” you whispered, glancing around at the growing number of onlookers. “you’re making a scene.”

“i don’t care!” he shouted back, tears streaming down his cheeks. “i want it!”

just as you were about to give up and let the earth swallow you whole, a familiar voice cut through the chaos like a whip.

“kanji.”

you didn’t even have to turn around to know who it was. katsuki’s voice was low and sharp, the kind that made grown adults flinch—and it had your son freezing mid-tantrum.

before you could say anything else, katsuki—who’d been a few steps behind grabbing something off the shelf—appeared, his towering figure and unmistakable presence shutting down the entire aisle’s noise. his crimson eyes narrowed as he looked at kanji.

“oi, brat. knock it off.” he barked, his voice low and firm, the same tone he used as pro hero dynamight when things got serious. kanji’s sobs faltered for a moment, but he looked up at his dad with that same fiery determination katsuki himself had mastered.

“but daddy! i need it!” kanji tried, sniffling dramatically.

“you don’t need it.” katsuki shot back, crossing his arms over his chest. “what you need is to listen to your mom and stop actin’ like a damn spoiled kid.”

kanji’s bottom lip quivered. “but—”

“no buts.” katsuki interrupted, crouching down to kanji’s level. his tone softened just slightly, though his eyes stayed sharp. “you think screamin’ and cryin’ is gonna get you what you want? not a chance. that ain’t how it works. you don’t get somethin’ just ‘cause you throw a fit. you gotta earn it, got it?”

kanji blinked up at him, his tears slowing as the weight of his dad’s words sank in. he mumbled something incoherent, and katsuki tilted his head.

“what was that?”

“got it.” kanji said more clearly, wiping his face with the back of his hand.

“good.” bakugou said, ruffling the boy’s spiky blonde hair before standing back up. he glanced at you, his expression softening slightly. “you okay, mama?”

“yeah.” you muttered, still feeling the lingering embarrassment from the scene. “thanks for stepping in.”

he smirked, leaning down to press a quick kiss to your temple. “you’ve been dealin’ with his crap all day, huh?”

“you have no idea.”

bakugou glanced back at kanji, who was now holding onto your leg, looking thoroughly chastised.“now quit the damn tears and help your mom with the list.” katsuki stood up and ruffled kanji’s messy blond hair, his version of an apology for being so harsh.

you let out a breath you didn’t realize you’d been holding. katsuki turned to you with a smirk, his tone lighter now. “what?”

“strict dad mode, huh?” you teased, trying not to laugh.

“damn right. kid’s gotta learn. can’t have him thinkin’ just ‘cause his old man’s dynamight he can get whatever he wants.”

later, as you loaded groceries into the car, you noticed katsuki handing a small bag to kanji, who lit up with excitement.

“you bought it for him anyway?” you asked, raising a brow.

katsuki shrugged, smirking. “don’t get used to it, kid.” he said to kanji. “this doesn’t mean you get what you want every time.”

kanji nodded enthusiastically, clutching the action figure like it was the greatest treasure in the world.

you rolled your eyes, a fond smile tugging at your lips. “strict dad, my ass.”

“hey.” katsuki shot back, pulling you closer. “i can be strict and still spoil my kid. he is a bakugou, after all.”

4town at a gym?

Y’all always ask me questions about things what I dunno SHIT about😔

I don’t think T. goes to the gym, he just doesn’t enjoy it for some reason. He finds jumping into pools a better activity. If someone asks him to go with them, sure, he just needs company if gym. And just again the one that I made a post about, he’s spotting for Z. while acting like an aggressive coach😭 they used to do that, but they had to stop because Z. always laughed so hard that he couldn’t work out at all☠️

It’s not in his schedule, but Z. hits the gym at least 3 times a week. At least. It’s more of a boredom activity, if he wants to clear his head then he just hops on his motorcycle and he’s off for a few hours. But the only reason he goes to the gym is that he likes it. The physical work, I mean. He doesn’t even have to work out for losing weight or getting muscles because it’s not even needed anymore, he’s perfect the way he is. Oh he also got a lot of friends who are girls, because guys were scared to come up to him for help, but for some reason he looked the nicest for the girls there. And they weren’t even attracted to him, he just seemed safe for some reason. So yeah he got friends!!

It’s in Robaire’s schedule, def. Like, he needs to keep that picture up, plus I hc him going to the gym since the age they let him in. He just loves it. Friends or not friends bought along, it’s all perf for him. But if there’s a gym what he always goes to, he’s friends with everyone there. From worker to a little boy trying to build muscles, he can chat with anyone. And everybody loves him! Plus he’s SO helpful, Robaire is every cleaning lady’s favorite. He doesn’t use much machines, max the treadmill but not more. He says he looks too zesty on them😭

Jesse only goes with the other members. He just doesn’t like it alone, working out is not that interesting for him. Working out together is.. okay, he likes the boys’ company. Though it usually ends with him sitting on one of the benches, water bottle in hand while he’s talking with the member currently working out. Plus if he’s talking to someone, there’s less of a chance of somebody coming up to him. I’m not exactly talking fans, more like girls tryna get his number. He doesn’t need that right now. If he needs to build his body for something coming up then he has his home gym, but the whole pottery thing is what built his arms to looks like that. So not necessary.

Tae is same to Jesse, only likes it when there’s somebody there with him, except he HATES going to the gym alone. Absolutely can’t stand it. He doesn’t even like working out that much, to be honest.

Hallo again!! I’m the Falin-anon turned 🍀anon and yeah, honestly I thought the Sanrio collab was at least coming in December cause of the presumed Halloween event like the last two years did. But nope, popped up and luckily my wallet was saved because I got the Lucas card I wanted (;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`) I shall forgive him for the full year that his cards have been avoiding me. I do hope the event story stays cause I’ve honestly been too busy collecting up those butterfly gems for June Bride and leveling up Bellen to lvl 16 to unlock all his memories. If not then…oof.

Yeahh…honestly I’ve been stacking up tissues in preparation for the potential angst fest they’re gonna give us knowing their record of happy to bad things happening to the butlers. Darn you Studio Wasabi! Let the butlers be happy I say! (I’m a liar, I like angst too much to truly be mad at them). Personally though, I think the twist may be the reveal of the fourth angel or something like that? Or perhaps a deeper understanding of why the ring exists and how it even came to Aruji? Since we still don’t really know how the ring came to be, if there were any other masters before Aruji, or the black cat that appears every so often.

Butler wise, yeah I think they’re gonna wait at least another year to introduce the last two butlers since we haven’t really gotten to know Bellen or Shiro that well yet. To establish their fans and all and to get to know their personalities and motivations better. I mean, compared to the other butlers (including the first floor villa ones) we don’t really know them all that well aside from what others have told us (in the case of Bellen) and the little snippets they’ve given to us (Shiro). Still a big fan of Bellen but I am trying to hold onto my loyalty to Lucas.

On a different topic, Senjyushi!! I honestly did not think I’d find another active Senjyushi fan after all this time ever since it ended service (╥_╥) my prayers have finally been answered. My favorite (not saying that I don’t like all the musketeers it’s just…some hit different in a good way) are Marks and Fal tied for first place. Kinda..opposite in terms of personality and how they interact with the Master but ahhh! I couldn’t decide! Who’s yours 👀?

Story wise I got to Japan before it shut down 😭 I’ve been living off of YouTube to remember those days since I can no longer go back and reread the stories. And yeah, the original game ended pretty spontaneously (within one year) and has a really rushed ending.

SPOILERS (SKIP IF YOU WANNA READ THE OG STORY)

Basically the Resistance is able to push through and defeat all the modern musketeers and, with Like❤︎︎Two’s help, was able to reach the World Emperor. Before they can finish him off, Ashley (World Emperor) essentially crumbles down and is shown to have what the Senjyushi mc has whenever their modern musketeers overuse Absolute Ruthelessness and is dying. The og mc feels bad and decides to save Ashley and heal his wounds. However, Mauser disappears because of this and Ashely, who’s been defeated, tries to end himself but Mauser (in gun form) refuses to do it. This, presumably, changes his mind on how he should bring peace to the world + the og masters mercy and is what leads to his actions in Senjyushi.

Since the og master healed Ashley’s wound completely, their wounds starts fading too (this is hinted by a few scenes before as the musketeers had gathered beforehand to discuss what’s going to happen after the final battle) and the musketeers say their goodbyes and return to gun form. We don’t really know what happens to the og master after this but there is a short scene at the end of the og game where I think an old guy (or perhaps the master themselves) is cleaning a gun in a cabin in the woods surrounded by guns. The translation is pretty bad but that’s what I could get out of it. According to this and what’s hinted in game, the og master may have the og Brown Bess (?) and Chassepot (?) wherever they’re hiding.

Yeah I don’t think we’ll get a new game out of the Senjyushi universe after this one either ;-;. It’s such a compelling story and the mc is written decently well from what I’ve seen even if they’re supposed to be an insert self. So much trauma in the poor mc…wait I just realized when the switch version comes out we’ll probably have to witness Vivian’s death again. . . NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

HOPEFULLY, it does do well and the story can continue on (also delusional) as the stakes are pretty well thought out. Actions have consequences and the development of the characters are great. The gameplay should be improved in the new version though as in the og game it was…kinda lackluster despite the pretty graphics whenever Absolute Nobility/Ruthelessness was used.

and the ‘twist’ could be both, the probabilities are high!—maybe something related to Aruji, the fourth angel or even the room in the basement of the Prison of Chaos (Sardis’s prison from Lato’s arc.). because the room was so creepy and we ended up getting no information about it either.

now that I think about it, the whole matter of the ‘traitor to humanity’ is still pending as well; maybe a hint could be dropped towards who it is? lol.

yep, we still don’t know much about Shiro, like at all. so I think we need a lot of information about him revealed—with Bellen he himself doesn’t remember much about himself or anything really. I read 2 of his 3 initial card stories and in them, you can see how he’s trying to adjust to everything—the world, the fact he’s not as strong or experienced as the other butlers, his memories (which were supposed to be important in figuring out a lot of questions) are fuzzy. he’s going to take quite a while to adjust, figure himself out so we do need time before the next butlers ✨!

coming to senjyushi (*≧∀≦*) Mark and Fal 😭? they’re too different my friend, in a lot of ways.

(in case of their interaction with MC and it’s sharp contrast, Mark got a leash and collar for MC to use on him, so they could be together 24/7. then there’s Mr World Army soldier who, (in his affection story?) told MC that if it had been up to chance, it could have had been him who would have executed MC’s parents 😭)

(though, I never ending up finding out about Fal’s past or why he his the way he is 🤨 /j)

ahem, well who am I to judge? the reason why I even became obsessed with Snider (like the push for me) was that he told MC that he wanted to put a collar on MC to show everyone that they belonged to him (in the older game, affection story) so uhh yeah 🫢 you like ‘em crazy, I like ‘em crazy; just in different ways.

I also loved Mark 😔 our adorable meow meow. oh! and I loved Like-two too! he was the first tsundere character I had liked in a while! I loved all the characters but my favourite were definitely Kathariste, UK and France’s factions 💗

I like to think that The Werewolf said that basing off of the knife memory and John's reaction to it -- which was very understandable as it was very explicit (the other half of it that wasn't shown to us/the audience). Even then, he still gives plenty of chances for John (and to some extension us/the audience) to bail out. He's mindful, I'll give him that.

The file name I gave John during the conversation was "go king, give us nothing.blend”. Not us having the same damn braincell.

It’s good to see that the werewolf was able to make a door in the first place! It shows a lot of how far he’s come and that he can do that at least. The handle can come much later when he’s ready to open it or close it since he should be taking baby steps. There is no need to rush all of this and the werewolf should focus on what it means to him making that handle happen. Like is he ready to open it to relive what happen, to truly expose himself or does he want to leave it close and ignore that part of himself. Both of them are okay to do because as humans we need time to open or close a door, no matter how fast we want to do that there’s no point in stumbling out or in something.

Yes! He's able to make doors but his main issue is keeping it there or if it is there, the knob's not working. That door in the memory was summoned out of survival and he thought of the most simplest type (which means that he's seen it at least once. 🤔). The knob was more or less that John still had overall control of it which is why he opened it.

There's a few more things that are door-involved though... but you're right. There's a reason why you can open/close them. 👀

There is a lot of meaning behind the flowers and the exam table. Exam table could mean a lot of things such as…. self-criticism, a need for healing, feeling so exposed but against your will.

A storm tore through Kumandra City in the middle of the night. They were all knocked out, long day of working and running around in their titles as Leaders. Namaari was always amazed with how Raya could be sound asleep one moment but then up and on the move the next when it came to their kids. Chau only had to call her name once or Linh could just have begun to sniffle as she made to cry for her to be awake. So when the electricity knocked out and Chau began to cry out for them, Namaari had barely risen to a sitting position before Raya was out the door of their bedroom. Hardly up on her feet by the time Raya was walking by with an armful of blankets and sheets. Their five year old son following behind her, walking awkwardly in clothes that were clearly wet.

“What’s going on?” Namaari felt like she had said, though in her dazed state she really wasn’t sure what had come out of her mouth. Raya replying all the same with a nod back at the boy.

A pain surged up her nose, her face, encasing her entire head in a dizzying pain as she fell to the floor. Clutching her head, groaning as she rolled into a fetal position. Her pride stinging more as it was rare for her to mess up something as simple as walking, even worse when she heard her wife come around the corner. Hurried at first as she thought the sound came from Linh, until she realized who it was on the floor. Now trying to force back a laugh.

“Are you okay?” she snorted, “what happened!?”

“I hit the wall..” Namaari mumbled.

“You hit the-..?”

“Wall..yes..”

There was a single second of sympathy and then Raya was laughing, unable to push it down any longer. (Not that she really pushed it down at all) Her wife busting up while she was struggling to stand, both of them more awake now, including Linh as she came to the door to see what happened.

Scaring him to the point he wet his bed instead of getting up as he typically did, running to his parents bedroom. He was terrified to go back to sleep after that, not in his own bed at least, and Linh, ever wanting to be like her brother, had to do exactly what he was doing. So they got Chau cleaned up, dressed in a fresh pair of jammies and all four of them climbed into the ‘big bed’ as their kids put it. Chau was so excited that he rushed to their room and nearly banged his face on the wall as Namaari had, the action once more causing Raya to laugh and tease her wife.

“Like mother, like son..huh?” she joked, earning her an eye roll from Namaari till she kissed her nose.

Now in bed, along with Tuk Tuk who had scrambled into their room amidst the entire event, they all were snuggled close as they got ready to sleep again. Chau in Namaari’s arms while Linh was in Raya’s. The boy twisting every so many minutes, lifting his head up towards the window as the storm continued to quake the world outside their window. The streaks of lightning causing him to whimper until she ran a hand soothingly through his hair.

“The storm can’t hurt you here, Chau-” she began, only for a roll of thunder to scare him as he sunk deeper into her arms. “That’s just thunder, it’s a noise…and the brightness is lightning.”

“Why is it ow-ed..?” Chau asked, bringing his Mother’s hand up to his ears, a comforting thing for him.

“Because the air gets hot with lightning, it heats everything around it super fast.” she explained, “that sound you’re hearing is when the air gets hot too quickly and it makes a big sound.”

Chau furrowed his eyebrow, “I don’t ike it..”

Namaari chuckled, “That’s okay, lots of people don’t like it.”

“Do you Mommy?”

“I like it now, but I didn’t when I was younger.” Namaari explained, “but then I pretended that lightning and thunder were friends.”

“Fwiends?”

“Yeah, I pretended that lightning and thunder are playing a game of tag.” she explained, “like you and me play sometimes….when lightning flashes then they tagged thunder..and when thunder rumbles it tagged lightning.”. “So when I’d hear a storm, I’d remember that even though it’s loud..they’re just having fun up in the clouds..and it made me smile.” she finished.

Chau thought long and hard about that one, Namaari nearly falling asleep until he added, “okay..they can puh-way, but next time they need to puh-way inside theiw house.”

Namaari chuckled lightly, mostly asleep.

“Okay, maybe their Moms can have a talk with them.”

“They have mommies!?” Chau gasped.

“Uh..”

“Who awe theiw mommies!?”

“Um..the clouds..”

Raya snorted, apparently still awake.

As well as still having a case of the giggles.

“Which cowds?” he asked then.

“Um..” Namaari began, lost now that she had bullshitted her answers as she looked to Raya for guidance.

“Alright, swapsy!” Raya announced, sitting up then while Chau gasped and then cheered. Clearly knowing what that meant as they had done this several times before. Namaari sitting up as well to shove the boy across the bed towards Raya, their son giggling as he rolled towards Raya while her wife scooped up Linh and literally tossed her over him to Namaari who caught her.

“No more questions mister, time for bed!” Raya teased, tugging him closer so that she could rock him. The boy whined then as the fun was ending only to melt into his Mother’s arms as she cradled him and began to trace his face with her finger like she did nearly every night since he was a baby. Somehow that being the magic touch to get him to pass out within minutes. Linh was already asleep when Raya had tossed her, waking a moment just to see what was happening only to fall right back into it. Both kids, now asleep between them.

Namaari sighed in relief, plopping down on the pillow. Eager to go to sleep then, only to be poked by Raya in the next second or so. Her finger brushing along her face much like she had Chau’s.

“What are you doing?” Namaari whispered, amused, brushing her hand away.

“Just trying to see where he gets that from..” Raya hushed and put it back on her face, “does this relax you?”

“Not in the slightest…”

“Really?”

“I can tell you where your finger would relax me-”

Raya lightly bumped her head with her hand, rolling her eyes with a mischievous grin.

“Hey, be easy on me!” Namaari laughed, “I just had a head injury?!”

“You hit your nose not your-”

“It was my face-...attached to my head-”

“Want me to kiss it better?”

Namaari shrugged, giving her a playful grin.

“It couldn’t hurt?”

Raya leaned up and Namaari met her halfway, stealing a kiss on her lips when she tried to kiss her nose. Namaari kissed her again when she felt Raya smile into it, amused by her antics.

“Alright..” Namaari laughed, pulling back, “we should actually go to bed now..we have a busy day-...again..tomorrow.”

“Ugh, don’t remind me…” Raya sighed, falling back onto her pillow, “maybe we can use your late-night face injury as an excuse to stay home tomorrow, play hookey and relax all day with just us and the kids.”

To be honest, as Namaari laid down, that didn’t sound like a bad idea.

ok actual post about my thoughts on s2 of the great. serious actual spoilers below

obviously I loved this season, honestly more than the first one. The parts that really kicked it up notch for me were:

no Leo. I think I liked him the most when he wasn't being a literal writer's tool for Catherine's own plot. It's fine that he was that, but I'm just glad that he was put to bed, just because now it felt like Catherine's struggles were hyper accentuated just thru herself. Elle's acting this season stood out SO MUCH (that final scene left me starstruck. I felt an actual ache in my chest at her despair) and I think it's because everything is so much more personal to Catherine now—her nation, her baby, her mother (lol), and her reluctance and denial for her love of Peter are out in the open when there isn't another focal point, i.e. Leo, in the way of that. Leo had his job in s1 and it was really well done, but there was a part of me filled with relief that he was confirmed dead and gone in ep1 this season.

PETER!!! Obviously. While Peter's depravity in s1 made him fascinating and also very hate worthy (even tho of course that would NEVER scare me off), clearly being "just the husband" has worked him wonders. His demeanor hasn't changed, not really—hes still offensive as fuck, he still does some SHIT things, but he also has more time for nuance, and growth, and things he didn't get when he was just being hurled into life as the emperor. But the difference is now the shit he does affects him and hurts him... and hurts the people he cares for too. The heart he wears on his sleeve not only beats and aches for himself, but for Catherine and Paul too (and Elizabeth). His family 😭

Now for things I liked a lot, just a little more on the side:

Loved the teacher with Orlo (she was so cute) and the little bit of exploration they had with Orlo's sexuality. I hope there's more of the teacher!

Pugachev was so fucking funny and felt very more like a traditional Nicholas Hoult character 😂

Catherine's struggle with her mother being a bit of the same as Peter's with his own

ARCHIE!!!! I really don't care about him, but I think he had a great season. I was far more interested in him as he... fell from grace? If that's the right term to use.

Elizabeth was a standout. Loved her pain, her care, and also, the fact that she's the only person who supports Peter and Catherine and wants their love to succeed.

that one scene with the clearly Muslim guy. While he was also a dick (as everyone is), I really appreciated that. It hit a little bit home—I found our Namaz set a couple of days ago while cleaning and was personally touched by this.

The outfits!!!! Oh my god!!!!

So many small scenes—Velementov and Peter going truffle hunting. When Peter goes to kill Catherine in the state room during the uprising and immediately throws the thought away when he hears her sobbing and sees her grief, instead immediately trying to make her feel better. Nearly every Orlo scene.

I could keep going but I do wanna mention some things that I wasn't quite a fan of. It didn't bother me much at all, but I think they could've been done better.

Grigor and Marial. I think this is a popular take. It seemed a bit of a random pairing, even though it's such a prominent thing in this season. I was fine with Grigor and George drifting apart, but adding Marial into the mix was... a choice. I ran with it, because whatever, it's a fucked up court anyway and Marial literally married her child cousin for inheritance reasons, so Marial and Grigor being virgins reunited or whatever was the tamest story and didn't bother me at all. Just probably should've been hinted at in s1 at some point.

I know I just said I loved basically every Orlo scene, but honestly I think Orlo got a bit shafted this season. They seemed to make more room for Peter's friends and less for Orlo. I remember more of what happened with Arkady, who was barely there in s1, than some of the other things. This tends to happen in a lot of shows, where some side characters get more time/some more side characters are introduced (the royals from Sweden LMAO) but it tends to sideline some of the more main characters. Sucks that it happened to Orlo and not to, say, Velementov or someone.

I was expecting a little more of Catherine's mother—not personality wise, but literally screen time wise. They did market her a lot in some of the spot teasers, because why wouldn't u market Gillian Anderson, but she was really only in it for two episodes. I don't blame the show for only having her in a couple of eps, though. There was a lot to cover.

and on that note, I do have to say, I'm sure there will be a lot of people screaming about Peter fucking Catherine's mom. I don't care. They explained it in the show, it doesn't change anything for me, and it's already such a messed up court that it doesn't break any show rules or anything. Elizabeth said it best in the carriage ride back with Catherine in the last episode. Absolutely not a deal breaker for me. In fact, when Peter apologized at the wedding, I felt so bad for both him and Catherine that it made me root for them more. I'm excited to see what'll happen in s3, if it theoretically is renewed (I'm sure it will be). How Catherine and Peter will approach their relationship knowing that that was what finally tipped Catherine over the edge to trying to kill Peter—as well as tipping her over the edge in acknowledging how much she loves him—I'm so eager to see where it goes.

anyway! long post!! I loved this season so much! I'm sure there are many people with their own criticisms of it, but it definitely made me giddy. 100% on board for whatever shit they wanna do in the next season!!!

So, I hope you enjoy this little headcanon I wrote up for you! Singing is one of my favorite things to do, but I too am insanely shy about it 😫

When he comes home, he’s tired, he wants to eat dinner and just relax. He doesn’t even want to do so much as touch you outside of cuddling and resting his head on your shoulder, but when he walks inside, he’s silent, and when he hears your singing voice, he stops himself from announcing his presence as he always did since you moved in. There was a distinct smell of his favorite food that damn near made him salivate, but as he shut and locked the door behind him, your voice seems to lure him in.

It’s… not bad.

He searches the house, finding you with a duster in your hand as you pause for a moment to really get into the song— it’s one of your favorites, he knows that much, but your high note ends abruptly with a screech when he speaks.

“I didn’t know you could sing.” In shock, you ignore his words, hand grasping your chest over your heart as you yell that he almost gave you a heart attack, but he ignores you, too. “Why have I never heard you sing before?” And now you have to explain yourself because you know he isn’t going to lighten up, but you’re expecting nothing more than a soft hum to your words before he moves on and starts to talk about dinner.

“I, uh… I’m just self-conscious.” You say, fiddling with the duster in your hands. Your nervous demeanor doesn’t go unnoticed by him, but he only blinks. He wants more, you know he does, so you continue. “I’ve always loved music, but I’ve always been too shy to sing in front of people.” Just as you expected, he gives you a soft hum in acknowledgment, but much to your surprise he speaks again— not about dinner.

“You should do it more often. It wasn’t bad.”

It really wasn’t a compliment, but you can’t help from looking down as your ears burn. By time you peek back up, he’s already in the kitchen, checking on dinner and licking his lips at the thought of eating it. He was hungry, and as if you just knew he was having a shitty day, you made one of his favorites. What would he do without you?

Well, realistically, he was perfectly capable. He was a self-sufficient man, a smart man. He knew how to get along, he had no issue cleaning and cooking for himself, but he doesn’t like it when you leave. Dare he think he gets a little bit lonely when you’re not around.

Later in the night, he really shocks you. He’s laying on your chest, your fingers massaging his scalp while you stare at the ceiling. It’s as clear to him that you’re awake as it is to you that he’s awake, but instead of talking about your day or starting a random conversation he feels like starting, his voice and words both surprise you.

“You should sing something.” He says it so softly you wonder if you mishear. “Just quietly. No crazy high notes.” You can’t help but laugh a little as the man cuddles closer to you. So, you do as he asks. You sing him a song, as soft as you can— a song you know he likes. The mere fact you remember something about him makes him smile a bit. He expects you to, and yet after all of the things he learned about you, he questions sometimes if you remember him like he does you.

By time you finish the song, he’s drifting off to sleep, a soft murmur coming from him to tell you that you have a pretty voice before he falls asleep. It isn’t a boastful compliment, it isn’t a big deal he makes out of it, but it makes your heart pick up in your chest as he falls asleep. It’s just what you want, a small compliment from the man you craved affection from so badly about something that you were so shy about.

Sometimes, he asks you to sing to him, nothing more than a soft kiss to your head while you do. More often than not, he asks you to sing him to sleep. Compliments are rare, but if he’s in a good mood, he’ll occasionally tell you that you have a pretty voice again.

Okay so this was one of the races where I didn’t watch C4 highlights, so the only thing I remember from this weekend was everyone roasting the fake marina, Underwear-gate, and Mick and Seb crashing at the very end of the race (😭)
